MUSE: Erin Zhao | Test muse - Ex-Professional Figure Skater, had a bad accident on the ice during a vital competition and screwed up her left knee and leg ever since. She had countless operations to try and reverse the damage but was told she would never skate again. Her knee/leg has never been right since and she's always in pain, some days worse than others. Now, she helps train kids though for obvious reasons can never be physically involved. This has been the case for years but Erin still hasn't fully accepted reality.

PLOT/CONNECTIONS: Against her better judgment, after having a string of consecutive days where her leg hasn't hurt as much as usual, Erin took it upon herself to have a skate around and...well, it definitely did not go to plan. She took a tumble when her knee gave way. A journey to the ER later, your muse is there to bring Erin home. She's grumpy about the whole ordeal, and sore. Open to all kinds of connections! Probably not the warmest welcome or thank you she could have - or should have - offered them but if there was one thing Erin utterly despised, it was being told I told you so or being warned not to do something when she knew damn well already. Hissing through gritted teeth as she winced in pain, trying to walk at the same pace through the parking lot but she was struggling to keep up. They'd offered their arm for support but stubborn as she was, Erin was adamant that she was fine and rejected their help. "How much further? I feel like we've been walking forever." A sigh left her lips as she winced again, hobbling along with each step, muttering to herself, "Just had to park the furthest away you possibly could. Obviously."

In "Period of Adjustment," BJ talks about how much Erin has grown and changed in the time he's been in Korea versus how much Hawkeye's father hasn't, and somewhere in there is a parallel between how different Erin is going to in BJ's eyes when he finally makes it home and how different Hawkeye is going to be in his father's eyes when he finally makes it home.

(Years later, BJ Hunnicutt and Daniel Pierce finally meet and find that they have a lot more to talk about than they'd ever imagined.)

There’s some days where I miss the brainrot of a fandom/posting to AO3, but coming up with an original antagonist’s most devastating line, the poetry for the characters’ journals, arcs that come together so wonderfully, getting actual professionals to tear up over original content???? That my brain made????

I love hearing people‘s unique stories about what exposed them to different fandoms. They are all so different and interesting. My first time reading the vampire chronicles was more funny than anything.

Basically I buy cheap paperbacks from thrift books.com to take backpacking and IWTV ended up in one of my late night orders. I had no idea what it was about. I paid $2 for it and read it while backpacking the enchantments in Washington. My best friend who was on the trip then mentioned that she actually passed out while watching the 1994 movie in the theatre (which I have never stopped teasing her about). Then like a moth presented with a new flame I read everything I could before inevitably ending up on tumblr.

I would love to hear anyone else’s story!
