Bought youtube views

I don’t even... As I’ve tried to explain a gazillion times over the years: I have absolutely no interest in stupid charts - I am only interested in actually useful statistic data.

Surely nobody can be surprised about YG and JYP (and a whole slew of other Korean shit companies) buying youtube views by buying ads on youtube. They have a pretty fuckn damning history.

For the US billboard chart:

JYP embarrassingly fabricated Wondergirls to chart on the Billboard US hot-100 by basically giving away CD-singles of ‘Nobody' for free, back in the days when the CD-single market in the US had died but Billboard in all their stupidity still included it in their formula for the Hot-100. In fact, Wondergirls ended up topping the ANNUAL US CD-singles chart because of JYP’s shenanigans.

YG embarrassingly fabricated CL’s “debut single” ‘Lifted’ to chart on the Billboard US hot-100 by for one week running ads for the music video on US youtube to get a fuckton of US youtube views (which stopped completely once the ad-campaign had ended).

For the Japan Oricon chart:

YG has very embarrassingly fabricated charting for almost all of their acts during the last 6 years. The shit they’ve pulled with events and musiccards were just absurd.

While JYP haven’t been as absurd as YG, pretty much every single Japanese release by a JYP act in the last ~7 years has come in both A+B versions with different content and tickets to events in order to very significantly fabricate Oricon counted sales.

And of course, in Korea, both of YG and JYP have over the last ~10 years had a focus on generating absurd media buzz to try make their new songs top the digital charts instantly. The fact that YG refused to conform to releases mid-day in 2012/13 and insisted on continuing with midnight releases until once the charts stopped to including midnight releases just once more highlight how fucking horribly pathetic YG is.

Nowadays, when lots of people look at youtube views as some kind of legitimate chart, it’s obvious that they’ll try hard to fabricate youtube views.

Some retarded fangirls might actually give these shithouse companies the benefit of the doubt and think they actually buy ads on youtube because someone could take an interest in the artist because of the ads. But that is NOT how things work. How it works is extremely simple:

STEP 1: Spend money to fabricate rankings on charts which by old are thought of as legitimate.

STEP 2: Naturally hordes of stupid journalist and stupid fans who are way too dumb to understand how charts work will create a ton of buzz in news media and on SNS because of the fabricated charts ranking.

STEP 3: Ordinary gullible stupid people will get caught up in the buzz and temporarily be “fans” of the act because of the image/hype in media.

STEP 4: The company will make money from these stupid gullible “fans”, exceeding the money spent to fabricate the charts to start with.

But as I’ve always tried to express... For someone who is trying to have a career as a performing artists... How long is your career gonna last if it’s just built on some hyped image in media instead of actually built on your talent as a performing artist?
