was looking through the cast list for the upcoming wicked movie and I didn't recognize the young man who plays fiyero but when I looked him up he is apparently lord bridgerton from bridgerton. which is perfect because as I recall fiyero is there to be Real Sexy Apparently and for elphaba to be inexplicably charmed and enthralled by. which is exactly the place bridgerton (the show) occupies in society at large. so what with ariana grande as beautiful manipulative undeniably talented and infamously socially inauthentic lady, cynthia erivo as incandescent awkward angry passionate lady, and jeff goldblum as charming charismatic powerful creepy old representative of institutional power, you got some pretty good stuff here even before you get down the list to peter dinklage as dr. dillamond and michelle yeoh as madame morrible. is there an oscar for casting director because I already nominate this one

Dropout Does The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals

So my theory about overlap of Dropout and Team Starkid seems to be accurate, and people seemed to like my Dropout does Nerdy Prudes Must Die post, so I'm back for another. Same method and criteria as my previous post, you can go see that if you want to know what they are. Also, I have previously done a similar list with Internet Personalities that included a handful of Dropout people, but I'm gonna try to make this one different.

Also spoilers for potentially anything in the Hatchetfield verse

Paul: Ross Bryant

Ross is a great straight man (in the comedy sense, I don't know his sexuality) while being very funny in his own right, and I think, while Paul has a lot of his own funny moments, it's very important that his character is also the more normal guy reacting to the madness around him. Also, he would slay the Jekyll and Hyde homage that is Let it Out.

Emma : Siobhan Thompson

I think one of the essential parts of Emma's character is an underlying exhaustion with the world, and that is very Adaine Abernant and Ruby Rocks, so I think Siobhan would embody that very well.

Charlotte: Vic Michaelis

I don't think I've ever heard them do a transatlantic accent before, but I just have this gut feeling they'd be so good at it.

Ted: Ify Nwadiwe

While I do genuinely think Ify would be great in the part, if I'm being fully honest, this casting is because I (despite my better judgment) find Ted Spankoffski hot, so casting arguably the hottest man in Dropout in this part makes me seem less damaged for being attracted to the self-proclaimed sleazeball. Also him and Vic seem like they would be great playing off each other.

Bill: Brian "Murph" Murphy

He just has "refuses to drink during the apocalypse so he can be the DD" energy.

Mr Davidson: Brian David Gilbert

Since I'm splitting up all the parts, this basically turns Mr Davidson into a Princess Track where the actor just shows up, sings about desire and being choked while he jerks off, but laments how he can never achieve his dreams, and then pretty much leaves, and I don't know why, but that seems right up BDG's alley.

Melissa: Lisa Gilroy

Lisa Gilroy seems nice, but also kinda scares me, and those are the correct vibes for Melissa (#heymelissacore)

Sam: Jacob Wysoki

My only concern about this casting is that he'd go SO HARD in You Tied Up My Heart that he would keep breaking the handcuffs and/or chair, but that's fine, it would be worth it.

Nora: Katie Marovitch

The "Decaf?" parts of Cup of Roasted Coffee already sounds a bit like her TBH.

Zoey: Rehka Shankar

I feel like Zoey is such an underrated, funny side character in the show (I know she's a very small part, but like every line she has is a banger) and I feel like Rehka is a very underrated performer, so this is a good match.

Greenpeace Girl: Persephone Valentine

Making up the Save the Sea Turtles campaign is such a Sam Nightengale move, and also she would eat up Lah Dee Dah Dah Day.

Alice: Surena Marie

She's got a bit of a baby face (I thought she was like 25) and I think she would handle the change from Alice to Hivemind Alice really well.

Deb: Emily Axford

I'm definitely not just casting this because I want Emily to be my protective and caring girlfriend...

Professor Hidgens: Josh Ruben

I don't have an explanation for this one, this is vibes alone.

General MacNamara: Brennan Lee Mulligan

"Wear a Watch" and a song highlighting how the hivemind is essentially fascist and using the military to destroy any resistance to their regime is so Brennan core.

Homeless Man: Ally Beardlsey

I just feel like this is the part they'd want.

Lost! Who would you cast to play Erwin and Levi if Aot ever got turned into a live action film?? One of my coworkers said Finn Wolfhard for Levi and we've been arguing ever since and now my entire office and friend group are involved :/

I had to google Finn Wolfhard and when I realised who it was I was 😱  I mean he was great in Stranger Things, but as Levi?  That’s a huge nope from me. 

I’ve had loads of suggestions from fans over the years as to who could play Erwin and Levi, they’re all tagged on my blog under fancast and it’s quite fun to look back on them. 

I’ve always remained on the fence because I’ve never really seen anyone who embodies the spirit of Erwin and Levi.  However, I have to say that Takuro Ohno and Ryo Matsuda from the SnK musical come pretty damn close. I admit I was sceptical when the casting was announced, but when I saw the publicity stills of them in costume I couldn’t believe how good they looked.  Seeing interviews and clips from the musical convinced me even more.  I’m not generally a fan of musicals, but I would love to see this one.  I’m delighted that some of my friends have tickets for the NYC show, I’ll be dying to hear what they think of it.

My fancast for if there's ever a Fiddler On The Roof remake (I don't know if there will be one but I want to make a fancast anyway)

Ok so for Tevye, Jack Black. Is this controversial? Maybe. But he's Jewish and he fits and he can sing.

Ok so for Motel, I want to cast Logan Lerman. He looks soft, he can be awkward if needed, and I just want an excuse to cast him in another Jewish role.

Golde, Tevye's wife, should be Robin Weigert. Do I need to justify my choice? I don't think I do. It's a good choice.

Yente could be Rhea Perlman, she just fits the vibes, idk.

As just the fiddler that symbolically appears in the movie, Timothee Chalamet. He can dance and he isn't actually seen much in the movie so why not. I wouldn't show his face though, just his silhouette as they do for a majority of the original movie anyway. (He can also voice over Miracle of Miracles for Logan Lerman if need be.)

Perchik can be Milo Manheim because you know what, I need that guy in some Jewish roles and why not.

Chava can be played by Odeya Rush, Odeya could be good in that role I think.

Joey King can be Hodel. I have no justification for this other than running out of young Jewish actresses and also she is a good actress when she needs to be.

Swell Ariel Or can be Tzeitel. She was great in Beauty Queen Of Jerusalem and I think that she would fit the role of Tzeitel well.

Tanner Buchanan can be Fyedka because he looks like he could be him, I don't actually know much about this actor sorry.

for the younger ones, I definitely recommend checking her out, she did songs for a lot of books/shows. It's definitely dated and very old youtube but her lyrics are very good
