Real I only have nitro for free from someone 💀
I get having to pay for things but subscriptions are so bullshit it’s wild, for music I use the app musi- you just import a YouTube playlist into it and it’ll play it with no ads that make sound, and it’s a 5 dollar one time purchase to get rid of those ads because it makes it annoying to shuffle lol 😭
Way better than Spotify honestly, the app drives me MAD.
you know the drill, op disabled reblogs etc etc etc

moosic (for le ask game) and I’d say cellphoney but im currently feeling ~introverted~ sorry—
I sadly don’t have a Spotify, but I do have a Musi. An irl friend recommended it to me, and it’s way better than YouTube music and Spotify, since you DON’T need to pay to have music play with your phone off or have a limit on music skips
Soo I have a special playlist dedicated to some Halloween vibes! I’ll add more later, but this is that playlist so far:
Hand Me My Shovel, I’m Going In
Mr.Capgras Encounters a Secondhand Vanity: tulpamancers prosopagnosia / pareidolia (as direct result of trauma to fusiform gyrus)
The Song With 5 Names (these past 3 songs are all from Will Wood and the Tapeworms’ Self-ish album)
BlackBoxWarrior- OKULTRA
Marsha, Thankk You for the Dialectics, But I Need You to Leave
Outliers and Hypocrites: a Fun Fact About Apples
Laplace’s Angels (Hurt People? Hurt People!) ((this was from the same artist from before just a different album; The Normal Album to be exact))
Front Street
Thermodynamic Lawyer Esq, G.F.D (Final batch from the same band! This is from their Everything is A Lot album)
Digging’ up hatchets
Weight of the world
Villainous thing
Tombstone road (all by Shafer James)
Redesign your logo
Lifetime achievement award ( both by Lemon Demon from their Spirit Phone album)
Tongues and Teeth
Curses (both by The Cranes Wives)
Necromancin Dancin (by Bear Ghost)
And that’s all! All of the songs currently in that playlist. I organized them by the artists mostly, so you can switch the song order around. Thanks for the ask and happy listening!

New Release: "You want More"
Genre: Rock
Located in: Canada
The song is basically about the problems that arise when you act selfishly, and never think of others. There is a price to pay when greed is your only motivation. The price is not only paid by others that you have taken from or hurt along the way, but by the individual who has acted only with their self interest in mind. Material success never really leads to happiness, and that is something that anyone that has achieved any level of monetary success will tell you. Be a good person, help others, and realize that 'more' isn't always a good thing.

Genre: Rock, Alternative, Indie, Emo
Located in: Austin, Texas, United States ’Episodes’ is an introspective journey into trying to understand and overcome struggles with depression. The instrumentation of the song echoes this feeling with wailing, emotional guitar leads and driving bass and drums. We hope that listeners will hear this track and find some kind of comfort in knowing that it's okay to not be okay.
The music we are creating is... Our next EP has taken a journey into self criticism and understanding, while also exploring a lot of new directions musically. We took this second album as an opportunity to open up and just express what we felt both as people and musicians. The instrumentals range from shoegaze to heart-pounding punk rock and articulate emotional ideals that we all deal with daily. This album is all about self discovery and being open to whatever feels right and we're just lucky to share those ideas with our listeners.
Right now we are... preparing to release the new EP, "Ghost to Ghost" and also going on tour June 16-22. We'll be visiting several south/central Texas cities and releasing the album on all digital platforms June 14th. We really can't wait to share all the new music!

Artist: Tough On Fridays
New Release: Little Italy
Genre: Rock: Alternative Rock
Located in: Georgetown, TX
Tough On Fridays is a rising alternative rock duo from Georgetown, Texas. Comprised of best friends Katie and Caleigh, the two have turned their shared passion for music into an exciting blend of pop and rock sounds! Inspired by iconic alternative bands like Paramore, Green Day, Basement, and Nirvana, Katie and Caleigh work together to bring a refreshing new sound to the alternative rock genre.
The band’s unique attitude and exciting new sound have garnered serious attention from fans everywhere. As one of 10 songs recorded, the recording of "Little Italy" further defines Tough On Fridays sound as something unique. While many reviewers have tried to categorize the band, the one thing they seem to agree on is that Tough On Fridays, with their edgy, hooky, anthemic songs, may have the ability to bridge the gap between rock and pop in a way that hasn't been done in some time. They refuse to be categorized as a "female-fronted band" as these two can write and play every bit as well as the boys. They have the look, but refuse to let that be the stepping stone that takes them away from the music.
Right now... Tough On Fridays just reached its initial crowdfunding goal to fund the recording of an album in 2020 with the help of a contribution from a local radio station.

Music is my life, it’s my job, my hobby, my love. and what inspires me. I work hard work hard at it and am dedicated to the vision. This is what I do, I make emotional Rap with real lyrics straight from the heart. My music inspires people through hard times, I made this song after my 4th best friend died of a overdose. It’s meant to touch on that question, Why people give up? What drives me is all the people that tell me I have saved their lives with my music. The music business is hard, no doubt but all the work I put in has paid off over time.

New Release: Electrocute
Genre: Jazz+Funk
Located in: Los Angeles
A culmination of all the musical genres that have ignited my passion for music in the very first place. I think I will look back and think of this song as one I HAD to produce in order to move on to other things. It's the most reflective of my artistic voice. I grew up loving all forms of music, but I've always been partial of music that can make you move. Genres that were energetic by nature (Jazz, Funk, & Hip-Hop) have always had a soft spot in my heart. Electrocute is the one track on The Jazzmen Invasion that combines all 3 of those genres & applies them to their fullest effect. In it, I channel 1/3 Eminem, 1/3 Prince, & 1/3 Frank Sinatra; a blend that could be hard to swallow. I always tell people my genre of music is neither jazz nor funk, it's Jazz+Funk. So I see that a lot more songs in my future would build off of the Electrocute formula.
Currently… I've put together an outfit of wonderful musicians who I've reached out to help me re-interpret the music on the EP to a wider live audience. We are Funk Sway, the driving force of the Jazzmen Invasion. With a band of musicians that I trust to carry out my vision with me, new music, & subsequently, new music videos, social media content, etc. will also be inevitable. I am working on building the NOVA movement one song at a time.

Artist: Joshua Flores
New Release: I Wait
Genre: R&B
Located in: Corpus Christi, Texas This song is my first attempt to create an R&B song, I wanted to challenge myself and make something that people wouldn't except from me. I was heavily influenced by Khalid and Drake when it came to the vibe of the song with all the harmonies and music production. I will say that I truly express my feelings through this song so I find it very personal and special to me.
This song is important since it's my way of starting to branch out from doing more than just pop music. I've always wanted to do R&B as well and now people will get to see this new side of my music.
I will be moving to Dallas in June to help put my name out there and continue working on some new songs and perfecting my music production and songwriting.

Streaming Services in a Consumer-Based Music Industry
WHY HAVE STREAMING SERVICES BECOME THE DOMINANT WAY TO CONSUME MUSIC FOLLOWING THE INITIAL ETHICAL DILEMMA SURROUNDING THEIR USE?
The purpose of this report is to discuss the ways in which streaming services have become the dominant platform for music consumption despite the initial ethical dilemma surrounding their use. The rapid digitisation of the music industry has ultimately required streaming services to provide an ethical and hyper-adaptable solution to music piracy, moral consumption and industry longevity, as well as meeting consumer demands. The report will discuss consumer attitudes towards streaming services over time and will include data and analysis regarding the growth and longevity of these platforms.
Consumer attitudes and behaviour data has been collected and analysed in several studies, with most focussing on the decline of music sales and the future of streaming platforms in the music industry in relation to the contemporary consumer’s psyche. Many studies found that music piracy is still highly prevalent today, despite ‘freemium’ models of streaming services becoming more readily available. This concept is discussed by Dörr and Wagner (2013); Giletti (2012); Sinclair and Green (2015); and Weijters, Goedertier, Verstreken (2014). These sources each took consumer data and discussed the reasoning behind consumer decisions for or against streaming services and their attitudes towards piracy. The Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) was referred to in several of these academic journals and reports, commenting on how attitudes towards the object (streaming services) influence (consumer) behaviour and how this behaviour was often influenced by approaches to piracy (Dörr, Wagner, 2013). Many sources believed that streaming platforms would be a solution to piracy in the digital industry. Dorr and Wagner’s data analysis (2013) showed that music pirates had a clearly positive approach to music as a service (MaaS), however; data showed that music pirates were more likely to engage with free models of MaaS, rather than paid. It was found that the flat rate model of streaming platforms was a more attractive alternative to pay-per-download systems, implying a higher potential for success. However; 2017 data showed that the copyright infringement act of stream ripping is still prevalent within consumer data, with 53% of consumers aged 16-24 engaging in the act (Eventbrite and MIC. 2016). The issue concerning the paid versus ‘freemium’ models of streaming platforms has been explored in the context of consumer preferences and the longevity of streaming services. Furthermore, the rapid growth of YouTube serving as a free audio and visual streaming service operates as a significant point of discussion within the music industry. Giletti’s data report in 2012 showed that consumers at the time were inclined to use streaming services, but without a paid subscription, despite being satisfied with the product. Giletti argued that this was ultimately because “consumer perception is that it is not worth paying for subscription services.” The 2017 Music Consumer Insight Report however, provided statistics which demonstrated the growing dominance of streaming services in the industry today, as well as specific consumer behaviours. The report showed that globally 45% of consumers listened to music through a licensed audio streaming service, with 23% using paid services and 55% using platforms such as YouTube (IFPI. 2017). Globally, 85% of young consumers stream music, however 62% are continue to use free models. Michael Raine (2017) discussed this data and highlighted the negative impact of YouTube as a music service, due to their poor artist royalty systems and their problematic business model. YouTube has been referred to as instructive in the ongoing debate surrounding the Value Gap, a significant threat which faces the music industry today due to a mismatch between value and return to the music community (IFPI. 2017). This essay will discuss the significant ways in which streaming platforms have adapted to meet consumer demands as well as remaining viable, despite the current nature of consumer perception of music in the digital environment.
The digital revolution in the music industry, coupled with the fast and ever-changing nature of contemporary demands has fundamentally pushed streaming services to dominate music consumption. Launched in 2008, Spotify aimed to place an emphasis on music “access versus ownership,” as well as connecting “fans and artists, fans and brands, fans with fellow fans,” as stated by Vice-President Frederic Vinna. The introduction of streaming services as the future of music consumption saw several issues arise regarding ethics and subsequently the longevity of streaming models, with major artists such as Taylor Swift initially boycotting Spotify due to poor artist rewards and revenue-per-stream, the company faced several lawsuits and received criticism from both fans and artists (Mkandawire, 2018). Questions surrounding the effect that major streaming services such as Spotify have upon independent or lesser known artists remain a significant factor which perhaps needs to be better addressed and improved upon. It was argued in 2015 by Tech Times writer, Lauren Keating, that although musicians suffer from poor compensation due to pay-per-stream, these platforms provide an “important platform for up-and-coming artists.” Patrik Wikstrom in 2016 further explored the effect that streaming services had upon local music repertoire sales, finding that there was in fact no link between a decline in local music sales and music streaming services. Wikstrom presented the idea that the social media algorithms of streaming services actually encourage consumers to explore a wider range of musical styles which they would have otherwise been less inclined to do so. The consumer-driven and technological nature of the contemporary music industry instead required streaming services to adapt to consumer needs in order to remain viable and sustainable.
The contemporary music consumer has had to adjust to and adapt with the dramatic digitisation of the music industry over the last few decades, proving to be both successful and hindering. It has been noted that consumers are now faced with a “myriad” of music platforms and business types to choose from in a strained attempt to adapt to perceived consumer needs (Weijters; Goedertier; Verstreken. 2014). The constant uncertainty and financially turbulent landscape of digital music has only been further and unhinged by music piracy (Sinclair and Green, 2015). The initial hope that streaming services would dramatically reduce illegal consumption of music remains so, due to the modern day consumer’s psyche and low appreciation of music as a commodity. The 2016 Australian Consumer Insight Report stated that Australian consumers’ perceived value of music lagged behind other media, despite Spotify providing “almost all the music in the world for on-demand usage, ad free, for approximately $140 per annum.” Piracy remains a prevalent part of the music industry, with the Theory of Planned Behaviour explaining perhaps why consumers continue to devalue digital music (Dörr, Wagner, 2013). Giletti (2015) stated that “a norm of copyright infringement and believe in the Internet as free” would explain why younger consumers hold favourable attitudes towards illegal downloading.” Giletti (2015) further noted that consumers with an affinity towards a recording artist moderated intentions to illegally download content. An alternative source suggested that consumers preferred legal and ethical options when available, however favoured different ways of making this economically viable, concluding that the driving force behind younger consumers engaging in illegal and unethical music sharing was predominantly economical (Weijters; Goedertier; Verstreken, 2014). Sinclair and Green (2015) suggested that a “policy of participation” through providing “superior alternatives” for legal music consumption would be far more beneficial in tackling music piracy than policing of the act. Free subscriptions to services currently act as superior alternatives to piracy, however data shows that consumers are becoming more attracted to YouTube as an audio visual platform. On the other hand, the rapid nature of digitisation has surprisingly resulted in an increased value being placed on live or physical experiences of music, with consumers more likely to attend a live show than purchasing recorded music (Eventbrite and MIC, 2016). Giletti further highlights this increased focus on physical experiences, noting that the digital music market coupled with its “diversification into live events and merchandise” represents the recording industry’s next sustainable business model. This indicates that a completely digital-based music industry would not be viable nor sustainable, but would rather require an experience-based component in order to remain tenable and relevant.
It is clear that the contemporary consumer-based music industry has struggled to remain viable and relevant in today’s digital climate with the rise and dominance of streaming services playing a major role in shaping the contemporary industry. More research and legislative attempts need to be made in closing the value gap, with alterations being made to YouTube’s artist rewards model in order to reinforce and encourage a greater value and appreciation of music within the streaming industry and consumer psyches. It is clear that the success of the modern consumer-based digital music industry is hindered by consumer held ideologies towards piracy and paying for music as a service, as many consumers simply cannot adjust or relate to trends due to economic factors and the ubiquitous devaluation of music.

Analysing inscribed assumptions about humans, interaction, and computers
Tumblr media

This text will discuss what assumptions about humans, interactions, technology and design philosophies are inscribed in the music streaming application Spotify.
Before computers could track eye movements, conversate with a human, or predict the weather in two weeks, they were big calculators that were operated by people manually switching cables to change calculating programs for scientific and military purposes. At this time, no one could predict that computers would have such a big impact on our everyday lives as they have today. Today, computers are everywhere. The music streaming application Spotify is one thing about technology that has become essential to me in my everyday life. I listen to music every day through this application. I relate it much to a record store, a physical location where we go to search for music by browsing through the records sorted alphabetically or by genre in boxes alongside the walls. Except Spotify is not something physical but a digital service that is always accessible, has an almost infinite music library and automatizes many things for us as users.
Music streaming applications make it possible for us to do the same thing from our home as we used to do in a record store. There is no longer a need to search through all CD:s to find a specific one or manually put a CD in a CD-player. Instead, we can just tell Spotify to do those things for us with a few clicks on a computer mouse. We no longer need to wait to listen to a song until we have the record in our hands. Since albums don’t need to be physical items anymore, we don’t need to store them so that they take up space in our home, which also means they can’t break or get lost. Design seems to strive to make things easier for us. But why do we strive for simplicity? Humans have such impressive bodies and intelligent brains that need stimulation by solving problems. What if we would embrace that more in design? Maybe we would have to pass a quiz to be able to listen to a new album on Spotify or dance nonstop to continue hearing a song. We seem to have become too fond of making things simple for our own best as we consciously opt out things that would actually do us good. To get the exercise our bodies need, it would probably have done us good to get out of the sofa and take that walk to the record store as well.
Does it make any difference regarding our experience with music to hold it in our hands from streaming it? Do we need a physical connection with something as abstract as music? I think that Spotify and other music streaming applications affect our experience of finding new music. Perhaps they could make us less appreciative of music in the sense that it is now so accessible to us. My parents use to say that when they were young they longed for a record so much that when they finally got it in their hands it was a holy moment, and they listened to all of the songs in one session. As I mentioned earlier, the music library we can browse through in Spotify is almost infinite, and we have direct access to all of it. With this, I mean that before music streaming applications and mobile CD-players, I think that we listened to music more carefully than we do today. Now it is often a supplement to something else, something we have in the background while running, painting, doing dishes, studying, or doing some other activity.
The human interaction with Spotify mainly consists of conscious interactions where we typically have a clear goal with what we want to do – like play a song or create a playlist. It is not a very bodily interaction, we use our hands to move sliders and press buttons on a screen but we don’t feel as one with the artefact. It’s not something we wear, it’s a 2-dimensional window on a screen that we look at from time to time. It is not an extension of our body in the way a pencil would be to draw. Spotify is rather a place to search for and store music as well as create and manage playlists. But I would argue that it is not the interaction itself that is essential with Spotify, but what happens after the interaction is made that really has value to the user. It is likely the moment when the user is no longer interacting with the application, but interacting, or engaging, with the music as a result from the interaction that the application makes sense to them. Since songs are audibly perceived, visually encountering their name or watching what songs are included in a playlist is probably not as valuable to the user as listening to them.
Even though the interaction with Spotify happens between one person and the application, I would argue that we are not necessarily individual beings when using it. There could also be a social aspect to it. Spotify offers us the possibility to share music with others, either by listening to music together in the same room or sharing playlists so that we can listen to music together even though we are physically not in the same place. This very fact may also contribute to the reduction of face-to-face contact with other people. We no longer borrow records from friends, we just send them a link. Visits to the record stores could be social settings where people met to talk about music, but today these meetings happen online via chats and forums. How important is the physical face-to-face contact with people? Even if we’re listening to the same song as we are chatting or talking to each other via social media, we are, in the end, sitting by ourselves in different locations. What we get out of those conversations are just representations of human thoughts in text, sound or images. Humans are highly social creatures which means that we need contact with other people. If contact via those mediums is enough to fill that need depends on what “social” really means. But I really do think that we need physical contact with other people to be healthy in our bodies and minds.
I think different users interact with Spotify in different ways. I want to listen to music that fits my current mood. If I am happy – I want to listen to happy music, and if I’m concentrated – I want to listen to music that helps me concentrate even better. But I know some people that listen to music that fits the mood they want to be in. If they are sad – they listen to happy music to become happy. Other people don’t relate music to feelings but rather want to find and listen to music they find sounding good. For these people, the application might work as a magnifying glass to explore the huge music library. For me, Spotify is also a tool to create. I find putting together playlists much similar to putting together a collage of beautiful images or a series of video clips that become a short film. I can’t really affect how things look in the application, but Spotify lets me manipulate the content in my playlists. I can browse between and pick materials, or songs, just the way I would pick colors for a painting. I pick the ones I want to work with and place them in my playlist, which will have a theme and often represent one certain mood or feeling. At any time, I can copy-paste the content and change the order of the songs the way I want to, just like I could do with a collage of images.
Spotify could be seen as a machine in the sense that it can’t think or act by itself, it needs instructions and commands to follow. It will run as long as it is not interrupted. It can be turned on and it can be turned off. Though, it also contains qualities that could be considered to be more human than machine. Spotify has a music recommendation algorithm that tries to predict what songs you would like to hear by analysing what we previously have listened to and finding similar or related music. A machine would typically not care about this. Maybe we have included this human quality to create a feeling of closeness to the application, to make us feel that it knows us. This could be compared to humans communicating with each other about music – we often know what kind of music our friends listen to which makes us able to suggest new music to them that they actually like. I think this algorithm adds another value of Spotify. It is the only thing we are not in direct control over in the application regarding the music we listen to. It keeps it interesting. We don’t have to put in any effort in finding new music, because the application already “knows” what we like and serves us new music accordingly.
One challenge with this is that the application doesn’t understand context. It will only know that we might want to listen to a certain song at some time. What would happen if it could recommend that song at the exact time we would want to hear it? I think this intertwining of human and mechanical qualities is quite uncomfortable. We can conversate with machines by interacting with them, and conversations don’t require emotions which could trick us into thinking machines could be like us. But as much as machines can look human and behave like they understand us, they will never do because they lack empathy.
In interactions with physical objects like hammering a nail, the nail in the wall is an immediate reaction of the movement of swinging the hammer. But the interaction with digital services like Spotify is a process where an input answers an output that go between the two dimensions of the physical and the digital world. Still, the interaction with Spotify seems seamless. It feels like an immediate reaction from the application when clicking on the song I want to hear and it starts playing directly. It is even faster than putting on a CD on a CD-player. The only time I stop and realise that it actually is a digital service I am dealing with is when the internet connection breaks and I suddenly can’t continue playing the music. Spotify assumes that we have an Internet connection (unless we have downloaded playlists to offline mode), which is a restriction with the application compared to listening on a CD-player. Spotify also assumes that users have a device with the application installed to be able to use it, and to gain access to most of the functionality they need to be prepared to pay a monthly fee.
Spotify is an example of how much technology depend on screens today. Without a screen, it would be very hard to use any functionality in Spotify like navigate through playlists or search for a song. The application exists within the screen. But what does that mean? We have a visual encounter with the user interface when interacting with it, but we only see so much of the application. Behind all that there is a lot of back-end coding that really “IS” the application. Since there would not be any visuals, audio or interaction without the “hidden” code behind it all, is what we see and interact with a façade, as a try by the designer to make it easier for us to exchange information with the service? Or would there not be the same product at all without an intertwined relationship between these two parts? If we look back in the history of computer design, screens were added to display information to operate the computer more easily, which again leads us back to that design in fact does reach for simplicity.
The switch from record stores to music streaming application has given music legs. Now, we can carry our music library with us and listen to it anywhere. It has become mobile. The music library is no longer constant and predetermined by the record store owner, it’s up to each listener to create their own library. It can also be changed whenever wanted, it can be sorted by genre one day, the next day by date added, and the third by song name. Spotify is flexible and lets each user personalize their library the way they like.

Artist: Alexandria Darcey
New Release: Doctor
Genre: Alternative Rock
Located in: : Pembroke Pines, FL, United States
An alternative rock song with influences of funk and jazz 'Doctor' was birthed in Alexandria’s Pembroke Pines home studio. The instrumental is complimented by a catchy chorus melody and lyrics about heartbreak and letting go of the past. "I was fully devoted to someone I found very special, but when feelings weren't reciprocated, it crushed me, and it led me to have a meltdown. The song is about me reflecting on how I felt during that painful time but now choosing to move forward and cutting whatever negative ties I have left to that experience."
This song represents my musical versatility as it fuses different styles together. I go from singing a catchy melody during the chorus to rapping in my own unique style during the verse. As for the instruments, they were all written and recorded by me and I want to show off my different musical abilities and how I piece everything together. My goal is to get into the mainstream and express to the world that there are still musicians out here that still challenge themselves and dare to switch up styles.
Right now, I am working on putting together a five-song self-titled EP. This single 'Doctor' is off of that EP and I believe it is a great representation of what is to from this EP..then again..I am full of surprises. I am very excited to release the EP in a couple of months to the world.

Artist: Karl Sky
New Release: Free
Genre: Americana-Rock
Located in: : LaCrosse, WI
Karl Sky's Music is a pleasant, melodic journey that navigates delicately through the human spirit. "Free" is more than about celebrating a feeling of being in one place at one time. It shows us that you can take what life throws at you, unwillingly have your path change and still embrace a freedom that each of us desires I was heavily influenced by groups such as The Beatles, and Singer/Songwriters Jim Croce, John Denver, Van Morrison & Crosby Stills & Nash.
I lean on a heavy blend of acoustic/electric guitar throughout. The acoustic paints the delicate side of the emotional palette and the electric allows the raw energy to escape. I believe anyone can listen to this song and find some element of it in their adult life.
"Free" is technically my first single release ever, off of a brand new album I just finished after having been inactive musically for several years. Bits and pieces of this song go way back to when I first started writing. So I feel I've come full circle and now I have a rather large catalog of music to show the world.
Right now I am actively working with an influencial publisher in Nashville, focusing on perfecting other songs in my catalog, that will be pitched to major artists.

Artist: Garmonsway, Gibbon & Harrington
New Release: Last Dance Woman
Genre: Rock Ballad
Located in: : UK
I wrote Last Dance Woman after an evening at ‘House of Blues’ in Chicago. At the end of the evening, as the music slowed, couples appeared from everywhere onto the dance floor. The floor was full of people, each couple was just totally focused on each other. When I got back to the hotel, I found a piano in a quiet room and pretty much wrote the whole song in fifteen minutes – it just came out all at once – a beautiful slow ballad. I’d been going through a bit of an emotional time, so although the song was partially about me, it was also for those other couples on the dance floor that night.
At the moment.. we are busy promoting the ‘Northeast’ ep and decided to put Last Dance Woman out as the second single from the album (following on from ‘Our Heroes’ ) as it feels quite a bit different and has a nice personal feel.

New Release: We're traveling in the dream
Genre: Singer-Songwriter, Alternative, World, New age, Pop
Located in: : New York, NY
This song is as significant as impacting to me based on how the timing and why it came to me:
1/ When I decided to move from NY to LA. To focus on my career, I brought a list of 20 songs. There, I met good friends and I've been invited to a walkout in the city. It's at this moment that the song appeared to me.
2/ I needed that motivation coming to somewhere nobody knew me and I've never been.
3/ It's a reminder that life is an opportunity made of duties and dreams but it's the dreams that keep us alive. Just by saying tomorrow will be better, we can walk a thousand miles without a river of water.
I could have since launched numerous songs but I wanted the world to note the existence of this song and apprehend the sight of my style as well as the type of messaging that could impact others' lives like mine.
The main focus right now is to finish the recording of the full album at the image of my previous releases when working with a stable team on a world-class promotion.

Artist: d'Z
New Release: Conviction ft Freddi Lubitz
Genre: Melodic Groove Jazz-Funk
Located in: : Arnhem, Gelderland, The Netherlands
d'Z is the artist name of Dutch drummer, composer, producer Hans-Peter de Zeeuw. Being influenced for many years by many styles and genres such as Gino Vannelli, Steely Dan, Incognito, Prince, Tower of Power, d’Z’s musical heart landed on the shores of Groove-Jazz City.
The music of d'Z stands out when it comes to horn arrangement, real-life musicians playing real instruments, high-quality recordings, and positive energy. Conviction is the first single of d'Z's debut EP and is about the thoughts we can have to limit ourselves. d'Z states that the quality of life depends on our convictions. What do we believe? Do we choose to live our lives based on fear or love? Scarcity or abundance? Although the song may have some critical remarks, it's also a feel-good tune, which leaves a smile on your face.
The music that d'Z creates can be best described as Melodic Groove Jazz-Funk with positive Soul vibes. From the early start of songwriting, this was the musical direction d'Z had in mind.
Right now, besides being a busy drum teacher, a freelance drummer, and composer for clients who want music for their video advertising, d'Z is prepping for recording new material. It is intended to head to the recording studio in 2020 and release original songs sung by a variety of fantastic vocalists.

New Release: Run it Right
Genre: Hip-hop
Located in: : Fall River, Massachusetts USA
This is a song that sends a message. For the artist, ‘Run it Right’ is a song he has always wanted to make. It’s a motivational song that’s meant to remind his peers to stay focused on the right things. The track opens with gun fire and an ominous tone depicting the honest yet tough reality of the streets.
The artist is making music for the fans pulling from his own reality to entertain the fans like no one else can; with pure truth.

New Release: HATING
Genre: POP
Located in: Sacramento CA USA
When the hate down work they start telling lies, this song sets the record straight for the world to know. Why they mad? Because you gone make it . Why they hating? Because they don't know how to ask for help, or how to do it.
Being real always brings negativity and still those who remain 8 more than 92 always remain on top and true.
My Influences are Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, Nelly , T.I. J.cole Lauryn Hill, Anthony Hamilton, Ronald Isley.
The music I’m creating is important because it’s an everyday thought. Everyone is thinking in their head why are you mad, or why you are you such a hater, or both? Reality is some people are just mad you do your thing and do it without giving up.  Why they mad? Because you gone make it.

FEATURING:
Artist: Tough On Fridays
New Release: October 1
Genre: Rock; Pop-Rock; Garage Rock; Alternative Rock; Pop Punk
Located in: : Georgetown, TX
Tough On Fridays is a rising alternative rock duo from Georgetown, Texas. Comprised of best friends Katie and Caleigh, the two have turned their shared passion for music into an exciting blend of pop and rock!
Their brand-new song, "October 1,” is the lead single for a series of EPs they are releasing in 2019. Caleigh, Tough On Fridays’ guitarist, wrote a song called “Summer” (released as the “A” side for the single “Under-Appreciated” in April 2019) about her ongoing issues with seasonal depression. What is different is that Caleigh’s depression is the reverse of the usual … instead of her depression hitting in winter, hers hits in summer. Thus, “October 1” is a celebration for Caleigh of all things Fall: the change to cooler weather, Halloween, drinking coffee just to stay warm. It’s a driving, fast-paced song that sounds deceptively simple but, like fall preparing for winter, a lot is happening under the surface that’s not so readily apparent.
When we all got together to plan this project, we knew that, like all our other recording projects, we needed not only to produce a lot of material (which we usually do because we tend to work fast) but it had to keep moving our music forward. This project was totally different than our others as we recorded everything at The Bubble in Austin, TX, with engineer/producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith (Toadies, Front Bottoms, Residual Kid). This was the first time we’d had someone other than producer/manager Eric on the production side when we were creating the recordings. Having Frenchie and Eric both there, as well as a more defined direction in our records was huge for us. While we can honestly say that we love all our records (yes, we actually listen to our own stuff long after the records are done), this change in the recording process was big for us.
Coming up Next...
We just finished our Kickstarter crowdfunding project and with that, we have enough funding to do our first album which we plan on starting early next year. We recorded enough material at The Bubble in January and February so that we can release new songs every month through the end of the year including some acoustic stuff we really wanted to do. Right now, we’re catching our breath a bit since we’re both in school and just finished exams and we continue to write new stuff. Always.

Artist: Soul Creed
New Release: Hold On
Genre: Rock, Christian Rock
Located in: Charleston, SC
This song is where Nashville meets Classic Rock! Influenced by iconic artists such as The Beatles, Tom Petty, Jars of Clay, and Christ Stapleton, this acoustic-driven, slide guitar reeling newbie with punchy 4-part harmony chorus vocals shares the story of a lonley 18 yr old girl raised in an orphanage and forced to face adult life on her own without hope in her world. However, the story turns positive with an admonishment for her to "Hold On" there is Someone you can turn to for help! No matter what circumstance you face in life, you are NEVER abandoned or alone!
The music we're creating is both lively and passionate telling stories that convey common human struggles with personal pain and loss, desire, and dealing with the hand life dishes out, and the ongoing spiritual search for love and truth. This song and style mark a step up in maturity in our music journey.
Soul Creed is getting set to perform several weekend dates this summer in Western New York, North Carolina, and Georgia, as well as a visit Nashville, TN in October! On June 16 we will be hosting the 2019 Extreme Tour event in North Charleston, SC. We are currently working on a studio album titled "Stake The Claim", looking to see release sometime in the next year!

Artist: RELEASER
New Release: Taking Over
Genre: Alternative Rock
Located in:  Chicago
The song is about when you start to realize your addictions are starting to control and take over your life. We tried to emulate the feeling of stress or your body's heartbeat racing through the beat and intensity of the music.. If you’ve ever drank all night and well into the next day with the help of stimulants, you can relate to this song.
The music we are creating is...  "'Retox’ is a collection of songs about addiction, obsession, and an overall loss of self-control. Nothing in these songs are fabricated. You wanna hear stories about a particular fucked up time in my life, put on some headphones and jump down the rabbit hole."--Stephen Mueller, Lead Vocals, Guitar.
Right now we are... 5/31/19 they performing at Cubby Bear in Chicago along our friends and music colleagues Local H and AM Taxi. More exciting Summer show announcements coming soon!!!

Artist: Black Rose Reception
New Release: Up jumped the devil
Genre: Hard rock
Located in: Indiana
The message in this song is you can overcome the demons of depression, suicide, and stress that we all deal with. There are great and professional people out there who can help.
The music we are creating is an old and new school music mix. We are going in studio recording more new tracks so expect more and watch for the matching merch.

Artist: Living Waters
New Release: Light of the World
Genre: Christian Rock
Located in: New England
This is a song we did hundreds of times in concert back in our earliest days, in the late 70's and early 80's. We have just recorded a fresh version on our new album, "Overflow". The original classic band line-up is featured in full on this one. It reaches back and touches our deepest roots while tieing thematically and otherwise with our newest creations on the new album.
We are DEFinitely recording more this summer, with more classic material from both Mike and Mark!

Artist: Douglas Aldridge
New Release: We’d Better Stroll
Genre: Folk Rock
Located in: Atlanta, GA USA
This song brings together three different stories of dark or desperate life situations.
My music is always a direct product of who I am and what I’m going through. My music is my life and it reflects all those around me, family, friends, experiences all rolled into one package.
As a third-generation singer and entertainer, I have no other choice in the matter. I can’t do anything else but make music. It’s the only thing in my life that ever has or will feel right.

New Release: Our Heroes
Genre: Rock Ballad
Located in: UK
We all have our musical heroes, whatever our age and tastes in music. ‘Our Heroes’ celebrates this and reflects on the innocence of being in your early teens (or younger) and experiencing your first rock concerts with your friends.
I wanted the song to appeal to everyone, whatever their age, wherever they live, but for me, it is about being early teens and experiencing my first rock concerts in the Northeast of England.
I also wanted the feel of the song to be such that you could imagine it being played on stage with the audience singing along, almost like an anthem to those times.
I’ve brought together three experienced and inventive musicians to explore and record my songs. The musical vibe has both a rock and acoustic feel merged together, and together with the paintings present the whole package. I like to think it portrays a cultured message, musically, lyrically and visually.
Right now we are busy promoting the ‘Northeast’ ep – one of the reasons for the band name was that we could all promote the album through each of our own musical circles.

Artist: Cabela and Schmitt
New Release: ALL
Genre: Soft Rock
Located in: Nebraska and Colorado ALL is a tribute to someone who came into our lives and helped us learn and live and love. In the style of Eagles, Tom Petty or the Beatles.
The music we are creating is... Cabela and Schmitt are a trio of friends who have been collaborating for over 40 years. Our only goal as a group at this stage in our lives is to share with others what we have so freely and abundantly been given. We come from the heart of the United States and humble beginnings, where hard work and perseverance is just a way of life. Cabela and Schmitt are songwriters/composers. We all have the God-given ability to choose how we want to view this world. We are all given a voice, in some way or another, to communicate how we see and experience our world. It is our choice how and when to use that voice. Cabela and Schmitt have chosen to expose our thoughts, beliefs, and feelings in the best way we can…through a song. We have always wanted to share our music without giving up this wonderful life we’ve been given and we are so very happy and excited to be able to share with you! ~Cabela and Schmitt

New Release: Nebula
Genre: Progressive Rock
Located in: Fairhaven, Ma USA
This song is a Progressive Rock Song and explores the concept of space and specifically gas and dust from a Super Nova otherwise known as a dying star. This song is impactful because space is truly the final frontier of exploration.
This song is important to my musical direction at this time because I’ve always found space exploration interesting and a Nebula not only are regions of dying stars but are often star forming by clumping together gas and dust; which most musicians hope to be successful “stars”.
Right now I’m working on a video for Nebula which should be out shortly on my Youtube channel. The song will be out on all digital platforms as well like Spotify.

This song is an anthem for empowerment. The Hip-Hop/Rap nature of the song paired with the catchy lyrics make for a song you’ll want to play on repeat. New Release: Whiteout
Genre: Alternative Rock / Power Pop / Pop Punk / Indie Rock
Located in: Ashland, OR, USA
“Whiteout” the debut single from the upcoming album “Here Comes Nothing” by Summer Colds. This song was originally written when I was playing in my old band Black Bears Fire but never ended up on a record because it didn’t fit the style of music I was playing at the time. When I formed Summer Colds this was one of the first songs that inspired the new sound. I was listening to a lot of 90’s rock from bands like Weezer and Jimmy Eat World, a lot of Pop Punk from that time and getting really into the new wave of music that was bringing back the nostalgia for the era with a new twist on the sound like White Reaper, Surfer Blood, Waves ect. I self recorded the song and crammed as many guitar layers into the track as I could muster. I also played bass, drums and vocals along with the backup harmonies.
This is the first single from our upcoming debut album “Here Comes Nothing”. I felt like this song encapsulated the overall vibe of the record.
Our first single “Whiteout” was released on 4/19. The second single “Killing Flies” is set to release on 5/17. We are getting ready to release our debut album. “Here Comes Nothing” will be available on streaming platforms and CD on 5/31. 'We are planning on shooting our first music video this summer while we wait for the vinyl pressing. Our release party will be at Brickroom in Ashland, OR sometime in July or August.

My music is heavily focused on the trials and tribulations all of us go through, whether it be Love, loss, self acceptance, and any other many emotions we deal with as people.
The music we are creating is highlighting all of the nuances of this album as compared to my mixtape “Anacrusis”.
Right now we are... I am currently in the process of recording a brand new album. I am confirmed to be working with a bigger name from the alternate/rock scene. More of that will be talked about following completion of the song.

FEATURING:
Artist: Cwiredband
New Release: Angel Circuit Engaged
Genre: Resurrection Rock
Located in: : Berkeley Springs, WV - Nashville, TN
This song is... Angel Circuit Engaged was one of the first songs C Wired wrote. It’s a call to all to engage our Higher Selves our Angelic Circuitry. It’s very much needed now as we find ourselves challenged by lower energy forces that are in control of and are making our planet uninhabitable. We can change our world together by holding a shared vision of Peace and Abundance for ALL.
Warm feedback slithers through our speakers and takes hold of our attention as we enter the title track of Cwiredband’s new record Angel Circuit Engaged, their follow up to their much-buzzed Omega EP also released last year. Before long, that feedback is harnessed and transformed into a scorcher of a melody produced by a feverish lead guitar and punctuated with the pummeling of a massive drum kit” – Don McCloskey – Gas House Radio
The music we are creating is... Resurrection Rock. The term came from one of the reviewers of our music. When something is resurrected it still retains common themes from the previous form but has morphed into something different. C Wired’s Spiritual advisor implanted a seed idea inside him to create “Genre less music”. What Cwiredband is all
Right now we are... Working on our next EP. C Wired has more than enough material to record a full-length album, but both he and producer Addison Smith are really comfortable with more frequent releasees every 3-6 months utilizing the 6 song EP format. It’s more in tune with the way we consume and listen to music today anyways. Most people are not taking the time to listen to an entire album. They select the one or two songs they like and add them to their playlist. Working on getting booked for European and US based tours, festivals, etc.

Artist: BlindSide Thunder New Release: My Baby Loves to Dance
Genre: Rock, Blues, Hard Rock
Located in: : Tampa, FL
This song is about girls. It's rock n roll.
The music we are creating is... fun and upbeat. We aren't here to make any political or social statements. We're having a great time and so should you. Life presents enough stress and discord, music should not add to it. If our music offends you, we're not sorry. Move along, please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ9evqOAuFs
Right now we are... BST is very excited right now. It's a great time to be an independent artist. We have a handful of new videos being produced, and we're working on a deal for distribution into the Asian markets.

New Release: I CAN ALMOST TASTE THE RAIN
Genre: Melodic Rock
Located in: : Adelaide, South Australia This song is... My roots and wings stem from a family dynamic best summed up this way: whenever we camped as kids, none of us were allowed to pack the car to go home until our own campsite was spotless, as well as those on either side. Music to me has never been about applause and recognition, but instead embracing the opportunity to leave audiences a little bit better for the time shared on both sides of the stage. Those same sentiments translate presently into a project not merely for stage, but in consideration of the needs of an entire Nation. My chosen home of Australia is presently in the throes of the worst drought in over a century, and while there are far worst things happening to good people across the globe, sometimes we must step up and do the right thing where we’re able for no other reason than because it needs to be done. My Band and I have just launched a drought aid program called ‘SA-NDI’ (South Australian Nip-the-Drought Initiative) a collective initiative rallying around a rock anthem we’ve produced called ‘I Can Almost Taste The Rain’. With Australia’s populace of 25 million and the World’s population tipping 6 billion travellers – if enough of us were to download the song through its portal (www.sa-ndi.com.au) for even a $1 donation – the result would amount to a tremendous impact providing water, hay, fuel, food to families who in turn grow food for a significant segment of our Mother Earth. One hundred percent (100%) of donations go to righteous charitable Oz organizations like Aussie Helpers, Buy-A-Bail, Drought Angels towards the worthwhile causes they oversee in devastated areas. But the SA-NDI mission doesn’t stop there. We are also determined to perform ‘I Can Almost Taste The Rain’ for a session of Parliament in the New Year as a heart-touching apolitical reminder that we are all one heart, one land – be it a challenged region, continent or planet. The support and visibility we can generate via the internet and social media adds weight with which to tip the scales. Change and progress can and do occur with the shared resolve of good people coming together committed to make it happen. It just needs to be put out there far and widely enough for hearts to be touched.

Artist: Dream Eternal Bliss
New Release: Loud
Genre: Rock, Alternative Rock Located in: Franklin Lakes, New jersey
This song is alternative rock with a deliciously catchy groove, lush keyboard textures, and wicked guitar lines.
The music we are creating is... Unique! We're combing '80s new wave influences with our love of modern rock and pop and then sneaking some prog rock musicianship underneath the surface to create a new sound that is full of big guitars, big keyboards, tons of vocals, and a fresh vibe. And the more you listen to these songs, the more layers you discover.
Right now we are... promoting the release of our new record, Picture Glass, with live performances in the New York metropolitan area, and we just released the first music video, which you'll find right here! Artist: NewClue
New Release: Illustrious Youth
Genre: Rock, Classic Rock, Nostalgic Metal
Located in: : New London CT, USA
This song is... NewClue is Nostalgic Metal Reborn. We all have individual influences, but it depends on the song we're playing. Everyone is unique, and offers a mixed style. We try not to let our influences cloud the music. This song is a coming of age story, and something we can all relate to. When you have youth, you have dreams, aspirations, and a willingness to make an impact. It has a contemporary feel, and relates well in 2018. We wanted to deliver a song that's a straight-forward "toe tapper" with a positive message.
The music we are creating is... The music we are creating is relatable. We try keeping it real, by dealing with life's everyday struggles. There's always a price to pay for your actions. This campaign is so timely with the rebirth of yesteryear's Rockers and widespread revival tours. In our opinion, the 80's music was an expression; one that left a strong impact on a lot of us today. Everything has a way of coming full circle, and we see the 80's sound returning, but with a fresh reboot.

Genre: Rock
Located in: Paris, France
This song is... Jeff Rockker is a Paris based French-Californian rock singer/guitarist/songwriter. He is the lucky recipient of an ASCAP “Popular Songwriter Award”. His style is influenced by the great hard rock bands of the 80’s (AC/DC, Kiss The Cult, Trust, etc...) but, their double drum kick, metal sounding guitars and often incisive words, give his songs a very modern edge! Meet the great "White Tiger" ! He roams the streets of our urban jungles. He is an analogy for the wild and the free creature that lies within the soul of the rocker! "White Tiger" is the official single of the album. Can you see yourself in the lyrics of this song?

This song is... My roots and wings stem from a family dynamic best summed up this way: whenever we camped, none of us were allowed to pack the car to go home until our own campsite was spotless and those on either side. My Band and I have just launched a drought aid program called ‘SA-NDI’ (South Australian Nip-the-Drought Initiative) a collective initiative rallying around a country/rock anthem we’ve produced called ‘I Can Almost Taste The Rain’. With Australia’s populace of 25 million and the World’s population tipping 6 billion travellers – if enough of us were to download the song through its portal (www.sa-ndi.com.au) for even a $1 donation – the result would amount to a tremendous impact providing water, hay, fuel, food to families who in turn grow food for a significant segment of one Mother Earth. Right now we are... Earlier this year we were the Cinderella act at the largest AOR Melodic Rock Festival in the UK (HRH – Hard Rock Hell). The success of that event and the respectable crowds we drew afterwards while playing at heritage concert venues pushed us across the threshold into the ‘A’ List of the EU market. Our return to Oz was supposed to be a quick turnaround for a series of North American festivals, however, as is the nature of ‘rock and roll’, life stepped-in the week we returned and pulled the band apart like Da Vinci’s Vitruvian man.

Song name: ‘Rock and Roll Junkie’ Music Genre:: Rock
I live in...  Tampa, FL
My music is... Our music is about life, fun and the continuous party that we forget life is. We all need to let loose!! Not being too serious or having any message. It is about being a Rebel doing your own thing and not having to stay in the majority. I think we are all a little off center. Get over yourself. With all we having going on we forget about US. Always move forward and improve and don't forget a beer or margarita is only inches away.
This song is about... Rock and Roll Junkie is about day dreaming and thinking about how BST got here. Being a kid and having a fantasy of playing in front of huge crowds. What it is like to be a rock star. BST's version of Johnny B Good, sort of.

New Release: INEQUALITY
Genre: Rock, 90's rock, retrorock
Located in: Melbourne, Australia
This song is about the ever widening gap between the haves and have nots that we are experiencing. It was inspired and written after volunteer work that I was doing serving food to the homeless in a soup kitchen in Croydon located in the south east of Melbourne.
Having suffered through a period of homelessness and watching a longtime friend recently go through a similar experience with homelessness and all the complications that come with it motivated me to express the feelings of mental anguish and helplessness associated with being homeless.
The music we are creating is... very much a reconnection to the reason why I was inspired to do it in the first place, it's really just a kind of let's get back to the basics mindset and write and play the sort of music that would shake the window panes off the local pub, it definitely does have a very primitive aspect to it all.
Right now we are... Still working on songs for my next album and have had to re-record most of the songs on an analogue desk to get the type of punchy guitar rock sound I was looking for, so hopefully that will be ready early to mid 2019

Artist: PyraKite
New Release: Patagonian Hills
Genre: Rock, singersongwriter, alternative rock
Located in: : Falun, Dalarna
This song is... the first one of the album 7 Steps. It’s about a journey I made through South America with a icluded trip to Antarctica and the Easter Islands. The feeling I wanted to catch was that of a photo collage, random pictures, feelings and thought passing by the observer. It’s a mellow, moody, mystical start off of the album I think.
The music we are creating is... This is the last single of the our journey and it connects back to the very start as it is the first song of the album.
PyraKite gives you a poetic and mystical journey through the classic rock and pop genre. Some may say PyraKite has a unique uplifting and fresh sound.
7 Steps is a concept album, which means that it's best experienced from start 'til end. The story of 7 steps (with it's 7 tracks) has got just as many layers to it as you wish.  The journey starts in Antarctica and ends up in space. The music has a happy melodramatic vibe to it and has been compared to the sound of Pink Floyd, Prefab Sprout, The Beatles and Steely Dan mixed with a bit of grunge and poetic touch to it. You might also find a bit of Ben Folds Five, Paul Simon or Rival Sons in there.
Hopefully the journey will be both mine and yours

New Release: The Bull
Genre: Progressive Rock
Located in: : Boston, Ma
The Bull is a Progressive Rock and Metal song that incorporates a variety of instrumentation. Guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, synth strings, brass and woodwinds. Combining traditional "rock" instruments with classical symphonic instruments is truly an auditory treat. This song is a continuation of my love for Progressive Rock. The driving beat reminds me of a bull running through a china shop. On a personal note, my family owns a French Bulldog, and she "bulldozes" into a room, jumping on furniture and knocking over pillows and everything else in her way. I was inspired to write this song because of her. This song is "Cupcake the French Bulldog's" anthem.
Right now we are... I'm happy about working on a live video of my song Night Terrors. I'm working on a Youtube channel to promote my songs and drumming videos, too. I'm also writing a few new songs.

New Release: DROPPING JEWELZ
Genre: HIPHOP
Located in: : MORENO VALLEY, CA. U.S.
THIS SONG IS BY ABOVE MUSIK WHO HAS BEEN WORKING HARD TO BUILD UP HIS BRAND IN THE HARDCORE UNDERGROUND HIPHOP SCENE. IT IS A POWERFUL SINGLE THAT TOUCHES ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS THAT ANYONE WHO HAS EVER LOST A LOVED ONE CAN RELATE TOO. IT IS AN EMOTIONAL THRILL RIDE PROVIDING A RARE GLIMPSE OF LIFE BEHIND PRISON WALLS, TAKING YOU TO A STORY OF A MAN TORN APART FROM HIS FIRST BORN CHILD LEAVING BEHIND A SINGLE MOTHER.
THEN SHOWING THE REMORSE OF ANY SON OR DAUGHTER WHO HAS HARMED THERE PARENTS AND WISHES TO APOLOGIZE TO THEM. INFLUENCED BY A STRONG WEST COAST FEEL THIS SONG WILL MAKE YOU TEARY EYED EVERY TIME YOU LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE OF HOW HARD IT HITTING CLOSE TO HOME FOR MOST UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH AND ADULTS ALIKE. THE IMPACT THIS SONG WILL MAKE IS ONLY PART OF A DIVERSE CATALOGUE ABOVE MUSIK IS BRINGING TO LIGHT PROVIDING A FRESH NEW TAKE ON HIPHOP MUSIC.
