Some Naruto musings this late past midnight, but after rewatching some Naruto (og) episodes I think letting Kakashi actually teach the team new jutsus (or at least one or two?) would have helped the og show a lot. Sure, it's indicated they train, but if we actually got shown Kakashi teaching them a jutsu or two each we would also get a better sense of them being a TEAM. Them having more time together would also make Sasuke leaving hit a lot harder later on.

Anyway. Idk if Kishimoto perhaps wasn't sure how far the Naruto manga would go when he first started to write/draw it, but something nice to add would be...

Naruto: Rasengan is still Jiraya's to teach, but Kakashi teaching Naruto a middle- to long ranged attack would round out Naruto's skillset a LOT. Something like air bullets, perhaps. Not too dangerous on its' own, but combined with Naruto's shadow clones would be an absolute PAIN to face in battle.

Sasuke: I'm tempted to just say "team work", but a nice curve-ball I think would be healing jutsus. Sasuke has great chakra control (especially after awakening the sharingan), and it would be something Kakashi can make him study which does NOT follow in Itachi's footsteps. (Because well, neither Sasuke nor Kakashi knew the truth at the time, and Sasuke is a lil' traumatized shit in the beginning).

Sakura: Her weakness was mainly physical and low stamina, so a lot of physical training would probably do well for her. I'd love for Kakashi to also teach her how to summon the dog pack. Great back-up, tracking, and would be great for communication. Maybe something like the mudwall as well, giving the team a defensive touch they desperately need. After Sasuke leaves you could then (still) have Sakura go to Tsunade to learn healing, taking up the mantle Sasuke left behind.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but getting to SEE Kakashi teach them another jutsu or two would likely have helped the first part of the manga/anime a lot in general. Let us build a stronger connection to them all.

hi, I'm sorry if I'm out of line! But I read some fic requests and if it's still open, could I request Kakashi reacting to an injured reader and help them be nursed back to health after a mission?

No matter how big or small the injury is, he stops immediately to tend to it. Sprained ankle? You're getting carried back to Konoha. Cut from a kunai? He's trying his hand at medical ninjutsu.

He's sure to take care of the attacker (not before making sure you're safe) prior to any first aid unless it's life-endangering. He ends them as quickly as he can.

Now if it's something life-threatening, he's incapacitating them with his sharingan and acting immediately, or getting you to cover to provide you with healing. (I have a headcanon he tries his hand at some medical ninjutsu after Rin passes.)

During your recovery, he's right by your side every step of the way.

He might have that stupid book out as he sits with you during treatment, but not a day goes by that he doesn't come to see you.

You've caught him gazing into the window a few nights from the outside, but haven't said anything in fear that he'll stop checking up on you.

"No no you're fine." Kakashi gave a soft chuckle and waved his hand. "I gotta say, you took me by surprise for sure."

Someone like Itachi Uchiha, seemed like they would be in one of those fancy high-end universities that care more about reputation and money than education- well that's how Kakashi saw them. He wasn't expecting him to be here but again that wasn't a bad thing.

"I'm flattered too, I didn't really do much. I simply tried to be somewhat of a decent senior for you guys. But I've been doing good nonetheless." He told Itachi. "I'm majoring in education so I can become an art teacher, I live on my own and I visit my father when I get the chance." He explained.

"How's life been for you?"

«Thank you, that will be lovely.»

ㅤIt was a trick question, because, all things considered, Itachi was always busy. When he wasn't studying, he was looking up classes for the upcoming semester so that he could get a head start. When he wasn't reading thick books and making notes about it all, he was checking to see if there were any useful after-hours activities and courses to apply for. Such was the life of a medicine student, really.

ㅤSmiling at the offer, either way, he accepted the seat and left his backpack a bit to the side on the table, so that it wouldn't be in between Kakashi and himself. But... the problem was, now what? Catching up with an old friend was all fun and games until he remembered he truly wasn't the greatest at small talk. And, at the same time, he didn't want to just start rambling on about human anatomy and physiology because that would likely just bore poor Kakashi to death. Laughing quietly, a bit awkwardly even, he fixed his glasses out of habit.

I got inspired by @cool-thymus's Art Summary and decided to do one myself since I've never done one!

What I see: lots of fanart as case-studies! Can you tell I have a favourite pairing?

What I'm glad for: that I started drawing short comics! I've tried to draw at least once a week, but I need to have some more discipline for this since I only managed to draw one finished drawing per month. I've practiced some Dorohedoro-panel redraws which made me learn a few things about lines, texture and usage of b/w.

What I want to improve: coloring and gesture. I find it such a pain, but it's a necessity to learn because it can convey so many emotions. I want to have a more fruitfull art year, but I'm positive!

....The more I read of Lone Wolf and Cub, the more I am thoughouly convinced that Kakashi and Sakumo are inspired by it. It's like. Absolutely insane how many similarities I'm seeing in the two.
