While yes, he was aware that the place also worked as a court for justice, he was more interested in the performances there; unfortunately due to some... circumstances, he hadn't had the chance to visit Fontaine in quite some time but hey, better late than never!

the genshin fandom will fr be like "furina doesn't deserve to be called an archon 😒🙄 she's NOT focalors!!!" meanwhile she appears in every official art with the other archons and the other archons recognize her as fontaine's god, not focalors.

of course the point of fontaine's aq was to destroy the throne, but the title of 'archon' seems largely symbolic anyway. if she's "not fontaine's archon" then she's the archon of my HEART!!!!!!!!

the thing about venti is that he doesn't embody freedom so much as he nurtures it. venti is who he is today because the people taught him to love and he returned that tenfold. the people were the first to teach him autonomy and freedom, and his response is to protect that ideal

I just really love mondstadt's relationship with their "absentee" archon a lot. there's something almost poetic about how just by being themselves, they sort of "created" their own god. a wind wisp became their archon by observing and living with them (ofc I'm oversimplifying it)

as described in freedom sworn, it's the anemo archon who actually takes on his region's characteristics, not the other way around. it is not that mondstadt is the nation of freedom because of venti, but that venti is the god of freedom because of mondstadt. and now you have that same archon asking what I will argue is actually the best quote of genshin, "what is freedom when demanded of you by a god?"

Are one of the twins going to die?

So has anyone else noticed how each of the archons (with the exception of Zhongli) has some sort of twin/doppelganger/look alike/split half that's more experienced and assured of themselves? And that person is dead? For Venti, it was the nameless bard whose appearance he based his vessel on who rallied the people of Old Mondstadt against Decarabian. For Ei, it was her twin sister Makoto who was the wiser of the two when it came to ruling Inazuma to the point of making a contingency plan for saving it in the future after her death. For Nahida, it was Rukkhadevata, her creator and past incarnation who was the beloved Dendro Archon who had put a plan in motion to save Sumeru from Forbidden Knowledge. For Furina, it was her divine half Focalors who had concocted a plan to deceive the gods and save Fontaine. For Makoto, Rukkhadevata, and Focalors, all of them had plans that factored in their successors' (human half in Focalors' case) actions, their own demises, and took 500 years for them to be complete. Their successors were also trapped in certain ways. Ei trapped herself by choosing to close herself in the Plane of Euthymia. Nahida was trapped in the Sanctuary of Surasthana by the Sages.

Furina was trapped by the role she was given by Focalors. The Traveler's Sibling spent 500 years traveling Teyvat and learning the truth of the world, while the Traveler spent those years asleep and trapped in nightmares. Does anyone else think this is all foreshadowing that the Traveler's Sibling is going to die, possibly by sacrificing themself?
