a single muse template with a retro theme. (That looks less blurry than my screen cap)

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯. ♧ Features the doc is FREE and retro themed. I tried to stick to a decade, but it really takes inspiration from a few. It uses drawings and tables. arc en ciel is five pages long and can be adjusted as far as length and colour palette. Some of the drawings used in the background are finnicky, if you need any help, don't hesitate to reach out!

Still debating whether or not I wanna restart HS2 with a new MC (still as a Harmony Bearer because it took TOO much work to get there 😭) because all of the sprites are gorgeous and there are a million and one new LIs to choose from now

Unfortunately, Clara heard about this, and the thought of having to suffer through the entirety of HS2 as a girlfailure again "inspired" her to make like @reneedenoailles's Victoire and Julie de Noailles aka pulling the paid leave card. watched atlantis today and was reminded that i have exactly one (1) favorite story. nerdy guy becomes obsessed with a long lost civilization and dedicates his life to studying it and learning the language and then he FINDS it and is the only outsider to truly understand it. also he falls in love with a magical cute girl and helps her save her city.

anyway if u love atlantis (like everyone should) go read strange the dreamer for another version of this story.

hmmmm thinking about junko and izuru's perpetual boredom problem and how they thought it to be the world's responsibility to entertain them. in contrast, kokichi made it his responsibility to BE entertaining himself, that his dying words were to say he's glad he wasn't boring

junko fought boredom with despair and causing chaos in the world so she can have an un-analayzeable, unpredictable future. kokichi fought boredom with lies but his lies are usually about himself (his intentions, his reactions) and always had the end goal of harmony, which is a stark contrast to despair.

where junko asks the world to entertain her, kokichi says, "be the entertainment you want to see in the world."

idk I just find it interesting that in a way, both junko and izuru thought themselves to be in stasis. junko cannot escape analysis and thus despair. izuru cannot escape talent. so they're locked into boredom, forever. the solution to this, according to makoto and hajime, is hope and the belief and courage to create new futures, aside from — or even in spite of — those that can be predicted.

and then V3 introduces the themes of "lies" and "fiction" where anything can be possible. it doesn't matter if you can predict reality when you can just make stuff up!! that is kokichi's answer to boredom.

to determine your own future is to determine your own truth, and that may mean making "fiction" into "reality". as an extension of makoto and hajime's conclusions in their own games, part of creating your future is not just hope and belief, but also the ability to imagine it beyond what reality tells you. and that is a responsibility that falls not on the world, but on you. this is shuichi's thesis by the end of trial 6.

the evolution of the "boredom problem" across 3 games is fascinating to think about. even on a meta level, danganronpa The Show was stagnating and becoming predictable, which is why V3 happened. the cycles of hope and despair, too, has become boring, and so the franchise must end to make way for newer IPs, newer fictions.
