Random Confession #582: every time I meet someone who says they like Star Wars, it's a struggle for me to walk the middle ground between:

1) smiling and nodding but not pursuing the topic at all, and

2) blurting out that I think about Star Wars literally on a daily basis, have watched almost every project upwards of 3 times each, have written over 1000 pages of Mando-based fanfiction and over a dozen Bad Batch fics, and oh yeah here's a disclaimer that I'm solidly Tech Lives and I don't mind the sequels (though there's a lot that could have been done better) and I'm pro-Jedi and so far I like the EU/Legends/original lore as much as I like current canon/Disney...

Tanya the Evil always gives me Emotions when I try to read it, which does make it harder to get thru each book despite how much I love it, but I think I've made a Mistake by trying to read it while listening to Sabaton's "The War to End All Wars" album.

Y'all, I hit the song Versailles while reading Tanya's internal monologue about the cost of war while she was in the mop up of Operation Lock Pick. Y'ALL, when I say I had Too Many Emotions to continue reading, especially while on an airplane surrounded by strangers, I mean I had SO MANY EMOTIONS.

I grow weary of home and it's tedious politics. It is time I journey from Dathomir, if only for a day, to prove to myself that I can. That I am not trapped here, sheltering from my own visions.

My destination is Serenno. It is but one sector away, a few hours travel, and there I will do... something. I know not what, as of yet.

// I thought I had put this lore into writing already, but it seems I had not. Per my post about Commodore Fordo's Raider-class Corvette, The Impetuous, one of its earliest tasks was serving as a mothership and testing base for prototypes of the TIE Advanced X1, with Fordo himself serving as one of the test-pilots.

Fordo made and suggested many adjustments for the craft based on his findings, and his fighter's roomier cockpit arrangement would be used as the basis for the model delivered to Darth Vader himself, given their similar statures. As development of the fighter progressed, the prototype X1s evolved into the limited production TIE/ad Starfighter, better known as the TIE Avenger.

A thoroughly-customized TIE Avenger would serve as Fordo's primary starfighter for the course of the Galactic Civil War. He considered it a superior fighter to the TIE Defender in spite of its marginally weaker performance, citing its smaller profile, more robust central fuselage, and cheaper per-unit flyway cost. Fordo's Avenger would be kept flight-ready in The Impetuous' hangar at all times, and Fordo would frequently use its hyperdrive systems to jump directly into space battles alongside his corvette.

As a Dark Trooper, Fordo made for an incredibly bold TIE pilot, even amongst the most daring the Imperial Navy had to offer. His cybernetically-enhanced physiology enabled him to withstand much greater forces than the average pilot and for far longer, giving him the reputation of a relentless and highly-maneuverable pursuer. Thanks to his nigh-indestructible armor, he was confident he could survive virtually any crash or shoot-down, rendering him unburdened by fear. Finally, his neural interface allowed him to "jack in" to the starfighter's systems, feeding sensor readings and other information directly into his brain. This was not without substantial risk however, as direct hits with ion weaponry on unshielded hull could damage (if not outright fry) his nervous system.

He's a menace on land or air, just don't expect him to ever go underwater. He received SCUBA Trooper training and he never intends to use it again, less he's trapped in a watery prison.

new oc- michael walker (fallout 4 sole survivor oc)

Michael Walker had it all. A loving wife, a brand new baby boy he loved more than anything. A good paying job, respect for his service to his country. But of course, everything changed when the atom bomb fell, and he was sent down into Vault 111 with his little family. Nora was shot in the middle of their cryo-sleep. Michael could only watch as men stole away his baby boy, Shaun, and left Michael in frozen sleep for decades more.

His home was changed. All of the Commonwealth had spawned from the ashes, and Michael has made it his purpose to find Shaun again and avenge his wife's death.

A study in grief, post-apocalyptic worlds, the fall of consumerism, culture, and how love can corrupt.

Based on the mun's second playthrough of FO4, this time using the Infiltrator build.

My great bastard OC is Draqiros, a Myrish weaver (his grandfather sold fabrics to Aegon IV’s court). Sailed over with his workers to offer his services to his half-brother Daemon Blackfyre. They made all of Daemon’s tapestries and war banners.

Once Daemon lost he had to flee back to Essos while all of his workers got new jobs in westeros. Bittersteel forced him to work for the Golden Company to make their banners and the entire time he was like fuuuuck my gay ass life.

Joins Daemon Il and is arrested once that doomed venture fails. Gets tortured by Bloodraven for info and for some reason Draqiros falls in love with him, spends the rest of his days obsessing over Bloodraven as his muse - making insane drawings and disgusting tapestries of him in the weirwood tree. When he dies, his workshop is set on fire because of the disturbing artwork he left behind 😃

Being a sick twisted fucked up tapestry weaver artist is suuuuuch a peak concept. That he knows about the weirwood tree too. Sick

Raphael defeated Ketheric by using Yurgir

idk if this is common knowledge or not, but I puzzled it together only yesterday because I always missed a crucial NPC to see the whole picture. So here it is:

From the architect of Moonrise towers - the Infernal Mason you encounter in the House of Hope - you learn that:

Ketheric at some point, after the death of his wife, forsook Selûne and became a Shar worshipper. He had an army that he sent to war, to spread the darkness.

The architect saw his master's evil and made a deal with Raphael: His soul, for the destruction of Ketheric's army.

Raphael kept his word, and Ketheric's forces were destroyed by fiends.

Now, from the Elder Rothé near the Grymforge waypoint you learn that:

Ketheric's army consisted of Dark Justiciars.

A "hellbeast came with the mask-men" and destroyed the army.

And of course we know that Yurgir is trapped in the temple of Shar because his contract forces him to kill all Dark Justiciars.

So now, you know why:

The Architect made a deal with Raphael to stop Ketheric's army of Dark Justiciars.

Raphael contracted Yurgir (who brought his Merigons) to fulfil his own side of the contract.

Yurgir destroyed the army, but because one Dark Justiciar escaped with Raphael's help, he got trapped.

Why trap Yurgir?

We don't really know - unless I've yet to find it. We do know Raphael considers Yurgir dangerous, so it could be simply security. Trapping a dangerous asset, until it's needed again. He clearly had plans, since he makes Yurgir commander for presumably the conquest of the hells.

Why help Lyrthindor hide?

To trap Yurgir, but also

Yurgir claims that Raphael mentioned an aasimar

Theory: Raphael might have known, that only a Sharran/Dark Justiciar can kill the Nightsong. So he kept one alive, in case he ever has to kill her.

Why though? He probably knew Ketheric was kept immortal by the Nightsong, so the question would be: Why did Raphael want to keep Ketheric alive? Did he see this entire dead three plot coming? I wouldn't put it past him.

I shall keep investigating, and update this post as I learn more. If anyone has more info, please lmk!

I've finally more or less figured out how Epic Falls is gonna go! Everything I make for this au is probably not gonna be a fully finished piece, I just had an itch thinking about Ford and Bill in this AU

In this AU, Ford, Stan and Shermie are all sent to fight in the war, through a series of misunderstandings and accidents and more than a little intervention by a certain demon to get Ford out of Ithaca

Shermie was the heir, being the oldest, but he figured Ford would be a better ruler than him anyway, Stan was actually sent to war by King Filbrick in order to ensure Ford would be next in line after Shermie, and Ford got a very odd dream that convinced him he needed to prove himself to his kingdom by winning the war for Ithaca. Little did he know Shermie was also leaving... (for more info you could look at the epic falls tag!!)

ANYWAY, Ford and Bill. Wow are these guys interesting.

Ford basically treated Bill as one of his only friends, his muse, and Bill convinced him that he needed Bills help to win the war. It's only once he break the deal with Bill and properly lets his brothers in on the warplanning that they pull a Trojan Horse and win the war. (The actual reasoning for the war in this au is... under progress)

Bill, angered by Ford's insolence and him breaking the deal, acts as nearly all the gods in this AU, taking the place of Athena, Zeus in Thunder Bringer, and Posiedon (Bills goal in this AU is to rid Ithaca of all of its heirs, and he has his own ulterior motives for that. Getting into his character is gonna be a blast guys, trust) (all of which has IMPLICATIONS for 'We'll be Fine')
