Headcanon: Sidon and Marriage/Children

This is exclusive to MY interpretation of Sidon.

It's not uncommon knowledge that the Zora are strict when it comes to traditions, especially marriage. Relationships with non-Zora are often perceived as less worthy, less fitting, and are relatively frowned upon. This ESPECIALLY goes for the Royal Family. It makes sense, though, because who better to help run Zora's Domain than another Zora? Someone who already knows the customs, and who can produce an HEIR when the time inevitably comes?

I will leave whether or not a partner can bear children by Sidon up to my RP partners, but regardless of who he marries or who he does decide to have a family with, another Zora WILL eventually be brought into the arrangement, married, and expected to bear children (most likely Yona just to stick with canon, and because I like her. I don't care what fandom says about her, they gotta let the whole Sidlink thing go; we weren't ever getting that no matter how much Sidon obviously loves Link. XD Yona was GOOD for and to him).

Zora children are necessary for the royal line to continue--- that is non-negotiable, and Sidon understands and accepts this. If his partner cannot, then he will not take it personally if they decide to remove themselves from the picture or not pursue anything with him. It's not a fun situation for anyone involved, and the last thing Sidon wants to do is hurt anyone, his people included.

... but, ultimately, his people come before what HE wants or needs, and sadly, before his partner.

Hey!

A little post since its been a while to reassure I still very much want to do stuff here, I just haven't been able to work on it much outside of figuring things out in my head!

On the plus side: I have a solid idea of what I'll do here, I plan to have litltle writings for the most part, where each post is a glimpse of its own "story universe", since the background plot is a very wide multiverse (many worlds combined with parallels of each world, aka each fandom is its own world, and each fandom has many parallels versions). This will allow me to have stuff that explore individual fandom, characters and relationships, and stuff that explore the crossover aspect but not limited to only a singular version of how it happened.

I do plan to have sideblogs that each are dedicated to a fandom (to reblog from this main blog), so anyone who would want to follow me but who are not interested in all fandoms can have a blog to follow that only has what they are looking for. So don't worry if you kind of want to see what I'll do with a fandom/ship/etc, but not everything, I've thought of you too!

Reminder: the "protag muses" of this blog will be Peter Parker (MCU based), Wild (Link in BOTW&TOTK), Elf OC for DAI (Ireth), Allen Walker from DGM, and Wei Wuxian from MDZS. Inspiration for each will vary, they are roughly ordered from most active to less active, but I do hope to work with them all~!

As for possible love interests (aka main ships you'll see): Peter has Tony, Wild has my version of Twilight and my version of a Ganondorf who is has "split" from the Curse (so isn't "stuck" being "evil incarnate" anymore), Ireth has Cullen and Dorian, Allen has Nea and Tyki, and Wei Wuxian has Lan Wangji.

These are the ones I expect to be the most frequent, but there are some dynamic I might play with, namely flirty friends Wild&Sidon, queerplatonic Wild&Mipha, queerplatonic Wild&Zelda, Ireth/Bull, Ireth/Hawke. Rarely, I might write Young adult!Morgan being queerplatonic with Peter (often he didn't age or multiverse shenanigans). Otherwise I like them as family, and speaking of familial, rarely I might have some familial Tony&Peter.

Also with the whole "each post is its own thing", characters with multiple love interests sometimes only have one in a verse, and in other verses, are polyam. In a similar vein: gender&orientation might not always be the same!

I might explore in particular various settings for Peter and Starker (aka not all of them will be canon based), as for the others, it'll be a bit more of canon and canon divergent, but it doesn't mean alternate settings won't happen for the other muses, just less frequent!

That's about it for a rough idea of what I plan, with the additional note that I do plan to explore lore and headcanon, not just relationships~ Basically it'll be a storytelling blog, with the secondary function of an ask blog and the option for actual roleplay!

★- Knowing our fishy boy, it’d probably be a bunch of LOVE LETTERS and poems about a certain blonde Hylian ( The mun loves the ship so I’m forcing it onto my fish bby ) When Sidon is attracted to someone, he really falls for them HARD. Like a little kid crush, he just looses all sense of himself. So, the way to cure that? Scribble your feelings down in a book and close it up tight.

  But if we’re talking about when he was a SMOL? Oh, he’d just have a journal full of crayon scribbles, usually including himself and Mina or Link. The prince would sit there for HOURS and just draw. Mina even kept all the drawings in a book, which their father now holds onto. It makes for some very EMBARRASSING moments when it’s brought up nowadays.

He doesn't even do it as a means of turning people down. :I He literally does NOT even register it as romantic feelings. As much affection as he tends to DROWN people in, saying things like that is just... NORMAL for him.

Link is my linchpin favorite for LoZ, and given the patterns of all my past fictional faves, it's not really hard to figure out why XD

I'm obsessed with the soft-hearted martyr complex types, the ones who are carrying the world on their shoulders and are so, so resistant to ask for help... who have been through literal hell and somehow by a MIRACLE have emerged from those times and remained kind. I'm also a huge sucker for the "destiny" trope and all its varying possibilities, be that being shackled to it, deconstructing it, or outright defying it, and Link gives me ample opportunity to explore plenty of those ideas!

But of course, canon itself doesn't give me a TON to go off of, and I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the popular fanon portrayals, so I just ended up developing my own take on the silent hero for the purposes of my fic work. He’s a fun one to spin headcanons and theories about, and he bounces so easily off of all the characters around him.

Revali:

Revali is probably one of the most interesting characters in BotW, but only to people who spend a lot of time psychoanalyzing personalities. He acts like an asshole in nearly all the scenes he’s in and sometimes I wanna just SLUG him, but I understand where it comes from. It all stems from such relatable insecurity, and frankly... even though his boasts can be annoying, he DOES have the skills to back it up. All of this makes it really easy to come up with theories and musings about his past and upbringing.

Sidon:

Sidon is... so just to preface, my circling “don’t care about them” doesn’t mean I dislike him, it just means that in the grand scheme of LoZ musing I don’t spend a lot of my time thinking about this character. What we see of him projects a solid personality, though. He’s an NPC I’m always glad to go talk to. I tend to think he’s a lot sadder than he lets on, though- the boundless optimism feels like a mask.

(Mostly it’s just that a big chunk of fandom is OBSESSED with Sidon, and- I think he’s neat, but I’m not into him to THAT degree?)

While Zelda was at first thrilled and marveled that she was actually able to produce a form of time travel, she was later severely disappointed that she couldn’t figure out how to reach any other point in time, leaving only her child ancestor to advise her. She has wondered if this wasn’t Hylia’s way of keeping her from “cheating” to gain power. 

It was easy enough to pass Ranu off as some nobleman’s daughter that was staying with them, as such things are fairly common. Keeping up the charade, however, has been trickier. Zelda has sent fake letters to Ranu’s “father” and had fake ones “returned” to keep the staff believing their tale. 

Zelda has thought about what it might be like to have a younger sibling, having watched the relationship with Sidon and Mipha, and her time with Ranu ends up feeling much like what she would expect one to be like. She understands more why Mipha pushes her little brother so, and how they can be both endearing and exhausting at the same time. Truthfully, it leaves a bit of an emotional hole when Ranu eventually returns to her own time. 

After Ranu leaves for good, Zelda digs up whatever research she can find on her. It’s difficult. Ranu came from such a distant past that there are hardly any records to be found, but she does manage to find a couple mentions of what she believes must be her. Zelda is relieved to find that she appeared to live a good, happy life.

Zelda once snapped at Ranu, snatching away the guardian piece that she was playing with and yelling at her to focus, only to immediately be filled with regret. She apologized very genuinely, returned the piece, and calmly walked her through what it did.

Maybe it’s that but I don’t think I’ll actually be writing any botw fics or headcanons.. I love everyone else’s so much. I’m the tiiiiniest bit sad to see so little of Mipha and Link, but very happy with my other faves.

There is one thing I’d like to draw.. or maybe two.. but one requires color and I just… The other, well… Hands are just as difficult :P

(( I think you'd write a stellar Knuckles, considering that he and Shadow have very similar personalities. The same can be said for someone like Espio, but have you ever considered a character that you really like but is kind of out of your comfort zone before, but might be interesting to mess with ? ))

man, you know what, i never even considered knuckles at all. i guess it was a bit too obvious ? like you said, he and shadow have similar temperaments, and i can draw quite a few parallels in their stories/situations too. and it’s not like i don’t have a heck-ton of chaos-related headcanons either lmao. i suppose if anything i’d rather leave knuckles out of the cards because he’s a main character already very well represented in the community, and if im gonna write another muse i’d rather they be someone more obscure who doesn’t get enough love

espio has always been one of my top picks ever since the thought of picking up another character to write came up. he was one of my favorites as a kid, and i had a lot of ideas for him - in the same vein that i had a lot of ideas for jet and (obviously) shadow. the turn-off with espio is how tight he is with the chaotix; it either makes it depressing if you don’t have a charmy and/or vector to write with, or requires an especially good consensus between muns if there is, as there’s a lot left unsaid about the chaotix as far as im aware (starting with how they even came together) and not everyone will have the same interpretation.

as for your question, there are characters that i’ve considered but that are out of my comfort zone. the first that come to mind are sonic and rouge, admittedly (though mostly rouge, as i haven’t had the slightest interest in writing sonic ever since i first witnessed toby’s take on him). english is not my first language, right, so any character with a very unique speech pattern (especially one that’s particularly friendly/familiar/casual) is very much out of my comfort zone. it’s why i’ve done so well writing royalty (prince marth, prince sidon, etc.) because they allow me to abuse the thesaurus for there is no word too fancy for them, or people like shadow, who have a very straightforward way of expressing themselves.
