Thomas Anderson was a socially awkward sceptic, living in alienation. Grinding through the monotonous cycle, while being aware, at the back of his mind, that something was very, very wrong with this world.

Thomas Anderson could only peek from his cubicle as you greeted your colleagues and went on with your day.

You adhered to your team. Never mingling too close to the rest. You were not impolite. Quite the opposite. Sweet smiles, nods of acknowledgement– polite and professional. But that was it.

Despite your politeness your kindness, you were not an open book. You gave an impression of being one, though. Knowingly. Or unconsciously, Thoman did not know. But despite his keen eyes, he could decipher only a little about you.

A part of him always longed to walk up to you and start a conversation. Maybe during coffee, or snack breaks, or when he would find you in the break room, all by yourself, scribbling something.

He would linger, but never get the courage to walk up to you. The most he had done was smile, nod, and greet you. You, of course, sweet thing, greeted him back with that devastating smile of yours that left his throat parched.

Thomas Anderson’s sweet brown eyes would meet yours across cubicles, and he would sigh. He did not want to think too much about you. He had no idea what truly intrigued him, but he couldn’t stop.

He…had to know more about you. The enigma that you were. Quiet, kind—with your perfect smile, sweet eyes, and polite mannerisms. No one was perfect, surely you were no exception.

Thomas liked to tell himself that he was merely curious about the human tendencies— deception, envy, anger, destruction—perhaps the most self-destructive race to ever walk on earth. Yet something innate within prevailed. The will to go on.

Thomas Anderson was curious by nature; he was snooping into your personal life—your digital files, simply out of curiosity.

Neo was the name associated with data breaches that made it to the headlines, shook up the security systems of governments and banks alike. Yet he chose to use his skills and time on you. Your digital files, on digging up information about you.

It would seem to be grossly wasted effort in the hacker community that respected NEO so much. 

But he did not regret one bit. Who knew 'Miss Polite and Perfect' had a digital diary? Who knew that her dark humour stemmed from the scepticism around the world, the way it was? You seemed more similar to him than he had thought before.

But that was not what made his blood race. It was what you had written. Short scenarios and stories of utter debauchery. 

Poor, poor you, writing her fantasies that would ‘never be probably fulfilled, 'it’s all too much, too good. Your words, not his. The fact that you did not expect any man to bring you the pleasure you imagined in those writings made him tick.

More than once, he had his pants unzipped and length out, leaking and angry as he read through your 'scenarios' and got off.

There were also personal musings and mundane happenings that you wrote. How your day went, what you thought of your teammates, who you liked, who you disliked, the one co-worker who would always be passing back-handed compliments and taking credit for your work.

Thomas found himself engrossed in your life. Even to the most mundane and minute details. The way you like your caffeine first thing in the morning, the fruits you liked, and what thoughts ran through your head. Your perception, your reality, you, you, you.

He did not mean to, but it became his motivation to go home and sit in front of the computer. His search for ‘Morpheus’ was not going anywhere anyway. Instead, he focused on reading and knowing all about you.

Reading as you typed into your digital diary, and the next day, finding the correlation between your words and actions in the office. 

You were pissed one night—all your hard work gone into the name of a pesky coworker. You wrote as you could see the prospect of promotion slipping from your fingers.

Thomas should not have bothered himself with it. He was not even bothered about his own promotion. He had no definite ‘vision of the future’ for himself. But it was the unjust treatment you were facing that made his jaws tighten and sweet brown eyes harden.

He knew he should have minded his business. Not even once, during months of reading through your digital diary, did he find his name. You never noticed him. He was simply one of the many employees you greeted and forgot.

He wished you would notice him. You never did. And it made something gnaw out from the gap in his chest.

Why would you not notice? Look at him. He was the one who left you a cup of coffee just right on your desk. You liked it, and he saw your smile. You should be trying to guess and find out who it was.

Why wouldn’t you just look at him? Okay, it was he who could never gather the courage to walk up to you, but he wished you would think of him, even for once, and mention him in the digital diary.

He began to obsessively search through your diary, trying to find anything remotely connected to him. You did not think of him at all. Though not surprised, it did hurt him a little. A more rational part of him knew that it should not hurt him, but how would you know?

But he was happy to see you happy and thriving. The bully of a co-worker being fired for compromising company information did not really make you happy, as he thought it would.

He spent hours breaking into the system and making it happen. But you were happy when the promotion you were eyeing landed right on your lap. It felt worth the effort.

When it was announced in the office, he was one of the first colleagues to congratulate you.

He made efforts that day. He chose a better shirt, he put time to comb his hair, he wore a more expensive cologne, he made conscious efforts to straighten up his shoulders and try keeping his nervousness down.

He was good at keeping a front, but his palms were sweaty. He had to wipe them off when he approached to congratulate you. Your hands felt so warm and soft, he thought they had finally found a blanket cosy enough to keep his soul warm.

But he ended up tripping over, almost falling until you caught him, looking at him with concern, asking if he was okay, pointing out the beads of sweat all over his forehead and nose.

He thought it was a lost battle until you pulled out your handkerchief to pat over his forehead and nose. “Thomas, you look stressed.”

He looked at you, eyes blinking in utter surprise, “You remember my name?” You noticed him? You had noticed him before?

You chuckled. “Of course I do. I greet you every day, do I not?”

He could only nod. “Are you…Are you hungry? I was about to grab lunch, but it’s okay if you aren’t. The lunch is never good anyway, it's boring, I will just slide into the cafeteria and—”

“Yeah sure.”

“What?”

Your slow smile was a knife gradually pushing into his chest. “Let's go and grab lunch.”

And so began the habit of grabbing a bite, or simply coffee with you. At times, he would just get you a cup if you were too busy to leave your cubicle and chat away for a while. Every time he would arrive at your cubicle, he couldn’t help but glance at the desk.

He nodded to what you said, listened to. But every now and then, he would be distracted thinking about how good it would feel to pick you up and place you on that desk while he stood between your legs.

If you preferred pants, he thought about how fast he could pull them down and unzip his. If you wore skirts, he imagined how your naked thighs would feel under his fingers. 

His eyes would drop to your tinted lips—was your lipstick smudgeproof? He preferred it wasn’t. He could rub his thumb over your lips and watch the lipstick smudged all over. You would look prettier being a mess.

But most of all, he liked to hear your giggle, or the full-blown laughter that would turn heads in the dead and awful place. Nobody seemed to like any signs of life. The indoor plants felt fake, and everyone seemed to just type away like some robot in their cubicles.

He liked to imagine that you two stood out, laughing, softly initially, before busting into giggles and laughter that you two tried and failed to suppress.

He loved your laughter the most. The sound filled him with life, like moondust all over him, light filling him, like something restarted inside him. Like he could ride into the sunset with you by his side, laughing, talking, hair ruffled by the wind.

He could not believe how fast he turned from merely a colleague you greeted to becoming your friend. He knew he could be more than that, the flirty back and forth, the lingering stares, the awkward silences.

 He would spend night after night, smoking through his thoughts and mindlessly scrolling through his computer after reading your diary. You began to write about him. You began to think of him. You began to look forward to talking to him every day you walked into the office. You liked his company, you thought he had the sweetest brown eyes and the best dry humour.

The night he finally managed to ask you out was also the day Morpheus made contact with him. For the first time. It was a phone delivered to him.

It was also the day the agents took him for interrogation. They somehow knew that Morpheus had contacted him. 

The next thing he knew, he woke up in his room, and it seemed to be a nightmare. But it felt so real. Did the agents know that he was NEO? Did he show them the finger like he had been showing to the world, that felt very, very wrong? His surroundings often unsettled him. 

He asked you the next day if there were any strange men dressed in suits in the office. You were just as clueless as the rest. It had to be a dream, he told himself, trying to shake off the eerie feeling.

“So, this weekend, right?” 

When you asked him, looking up from the seat, expectant eyes and cheeks dusted with a tinge of warmth, Thomas was happy to shove the whole experience down at that moment.

“Yes, at seven. I’ll be waiting.”

It was the eve of your first date when Thomas was offered the chance to finally see Morpheus. The man he had been chasing for over a decade.

He was presented with a choice even before he was offered the choice between the red and the blue pill.

He glanced at the street that would lead him to the place where you would be waiting for him, and asked himself if he could live with the doubt and questions for the rest of his life. If he were content in a world that unsettled him?

The answer was no.

He could not. He needed answers. He needed to see Morpheus. So he made his choice. He got into that car, driving away from that street, but he felt like he had left a part of himself there.

When he finally met Morpheus and was presented with a life-defining choice, he asked one question: “Will I be able to come back here as I please…Like you do?”

Would he see you again?

It was a cryptic but affirmative ‘yes’.

And he made the choice he always knew he would. Even though his heart broke at the moment. But he had to know. He had to see the truth; he would always choose the truth.

His mind was consumed by your thoughts when he swallowed the red pill, and he thought of you after taking the pill.

You…

He knew you would be waiting in that cafe, but knew that had he chosen to walk away, he could have had a future with you. But he also knew that he could never live with the questions. This blind chase had to come to an end. He needed answers. He needed to know.

He made a choice, and nothing was the same again.

🌈 ― Aesthetically pleasing blog.

The aesthetics of their blog is only one of many things that makes them amazing, but I'm going for @pumpkinhcad on this one - like I said though, one of many - they have an amazing character, who they write amazingly and many amazing headcanons. I love our threads together and I love Pump.

⭐️ ― Convincing portrayal of a canon character.

I'd say @thuganomxcs - I thought at first that I would stick to muses I knew about - because it would feel unfair to write about the canon portrayal of a muse I didn't really know about but writing this one out I realized that was dumb because reading their blog, I feel like I know Yusuke - he's someone who can be headstrong, he's aggressive yes - but his aggression is directed at bullies, at people who deserve it. He's protective of his friends and uses his strength to help others. He's someone who lifts others up. All that and more I think is conveyed wonderfully through their portrayal.

💻 ― Excellent writing.

I try not to shout out friends for these sorts of memes so as not to come off as biased and only shouting out people I'm friends with but I really think @amaterasu-cmikami deserves it - they has a way of writing Amaterasu that not only conveys her warm and maternal side but also the sillier side to her, as well. Also, it's been really fun getting to read more about Ammy's lore and backstory and see it slowly coming together. They do a great job.

🌼 ― Creative headcanons.

I think it's always fun reading @tvstarkuma's headcanons - they always feel spot on and perfectly in character for Teddie.

🎙️ ― Great to talk to.

I enjoy talking to @townofcadence, just hearing their thoughts on things - they're someone with a lot of interesting thoughts and it's always fun to hear their perspective on things, sometimes it winds up giving me a new perspective, myself - plus they're also just really chill and open minded. I always enjoy it, think they're a great person to talk to.

📚 ― Nice threads to read.

Gotta give it to @darksonofsparda - like I said, I try not to shout out friends but when I know for a fact Chase puts a lot of work into his threads and a lot of care and detail and it absolutely shows. I also find myself pausing to have a little read - it's very engaging and really rich with detail and makes for a nice read.

🎀 ― All-around kind person.

@xdeerxhealerx / @story-magic / @shattered-protectors / @shadesofyellows - just about the kindest and sweetest person you'll ever meet on here! Always one to send others some love and positivity and cheering others up.

I'd say @mayonakako for this one - they just really bring Madoka to life and it's always so enjoyable and engaging reading their threads and their headcanons, there have been times where I've wished you could actually play as Madoka instead of Yu, that's how real they make her feel, haha.

Okay so last night I did make some progress and send an ask but I'd love to write with @idolsummons more - they're someone I've always taken notice of on the dash and I just have a lot admiration and respect for them and Hana both.

@pupmusebox is someone I see on the dash every day - I feel pretty confident saying that and Pup is just someone who's always so kind and seems to always be having so much fun and I adore our dual promo and our interactions between Ryuji and Beel. @sunnysmiles2 - Looks like they came up for this one! Fun to write with and you can't go wrong with some puppy pics.

You didn't specify anyone, so I guess this is another round of @ roulette - @lightcreators - always someone who's detail rich, I feel like me not knowing about some of their muses doesn't even matter because through their replies they fill in so much like details about their backstory, their inner thoughts, their relationships with others. Their threads are really rich and make then feel all the more fleshed out.

💜 ― Receiver's choice.

Okay, so another round of @ roulette then. @darckcarnival - someone I've seen interacting with some folks on the dash, I don't know much about them but I think their icon is really cute - and it seems like their muse is always getting up to some interesting shenanigans. Seems they might be from or connected to Mystery Skulls, which has produced a lot of amazing muns, so seems like a good sign to me!

Antivan Crows - Marriage Rituals 

So, a lot of this is headcanon but pulls from current canon content. The Crows aren’t specified to have any specific marriage rituals unique to them BUT their roots derived from the Chantry. With that in mind, the Crows traditionally do follow the Chantry and adhere to those marriage rituals and customs. Obviously the Crows can be incredibly diverse so there is a high chance of other rituals from different cultures and religions taking place - I genuinely believe it really does depend on the House or individuals. One of the few things that is mentioned about the Crows is that they do tolerate same-sex relationships and such. 

Arranged Marriages

Arranged marriages are incredibly common with the Crows, especially with the Talon Houses or other noble Houses affiliated with the organization. Marriage is used as a political tool to tie two Houses together and form contracts between the two for a variety of reasons. However, marrying into a House doesn’t necessarily mean an individual is automatically afforded all the rights and privileges of that House. As is common for the Talon Houses, if you marry into the House you may take their name but you won’t have the same power and influence as your partner might. This is specifically for Houses where leadership is determined by blood - House Dellamorte is a fantastic example of this. Caterina was First Talon - her husband was the partner to First Talon but would have never been eligible to succeed her should she die. He also did not have the influence Caterina did and was not considered a part of Crow leadership at all. There is of course some level of basic respect but not in the same vein as the actual Crow from that House. 

Non-Crows married into Houses never have any influence or power within the Antivan Crows. They would be respected as the partner of the Crow but not as a Crow themselves. Even if they’d wed to a Talon. You cannot skip Crow training and rites of passage simply by marrying a Crow. Most of the time it's encouraged to stick to Crow & Crow marriages simply because there’s more to gain for the Houses but it's not a requirement. 

Dowry 

This is an incredibly common tradition between the Talon Houses and noble Cuchillo Houses within the Crows. Especially when an arranged marriage is a part of the equation. It can be anything from goods, coin, or services. For Talon Houses it is very common for marriage between the two to come with an agreement of unification in any future political issues that might occur. One example of this can be found in Tevinter Nights, where two Talons were dating with the prospect and unifying their Houses in future negotiations and such.  

In almost every case of Crows marrying across Houses there is something being bartered or gained in the background. 

Vows

Very dependent on the individual Houses and their cultures. Normally vows are spoken in common at the bare minimum and often reference Andraste or something in that cultural vein. Occasionally Houses might have their own custom vows as well to signify their loyalty to the Crows. This tradition really depends on the individual and most of the time isn’t really set in stone. 

Misc. Traditions

The soon-to-be-married pair are normally not allowed to see each other the day before the actual wedding. Crows have a fun tradition of trying to see if they can break said tradition without being caught. It is actually a whole spectacle and usually involves some form of gambling. If they get caught they usually get shamed - but in good fun. Crows don't take this one as seriously beyond making a sport out of it.

Crows participate in lovers knots traditions. They tie a knot together to symbolize the strength of their bond.

Crow-specific Traditions (Meaning Crow x Crow ONLY)

It’s considered a small rite of passage between the two Crows to embark on a contract together after their wedding. The contract is assigned by the leadership of that House - or a Talon should it be a marriage involving a leader. If it’s another Talon? They’ll trust another Talon to do the honor of selecting the contract for the pair. It’s considered good luck and indicative of a good future between the two should they succeed in their contract together. If they can fight and work well together in battle then they work well together in general. 

Another tradition is exchange daggers specifically picked out by the pair for each other. It’s a secret until the day of the wedding where they exchange them alongside whatever rings or jewelry they might have as well. Tradition expects them to use said dagger on the contract chosen for them afterwards and only on that contract - it’s stored away permanently after that. The daggers don’t have any requirements beyond needing to be genuine and real and capable of actually killing someone. 

Weddings are pretty average generally depending on the House. A little party, just filled with a bunch of paranoid Crows. It’s usually a little more tense if non-crows are there just because there’s less trust. Crows don’t allow anyone outside to handle their food or drinks and alcohol is usually served only at afterparties or until the non-crows depart. They are a bit of a paranoid bunch for good reason - they have a lot of enemies. 

Bigger Houses almost always require any future children to be trained AS Crows. It is a part of negotiations between two different Houses to determine which House those children will be a part of in the future. Normally the bigger, more influential House has priority but it can be waived. Larger, more influential Houses usually prefer to keep their leadership within the same family so if it’s a child related to leadership they are almost always considered a part of that House.

Thinking about how aside from dreams those thousands of years after the Veil went up, Inquisition Solas is basically just one year removed from Late Rebellion Solas.

I was reading through a list of the konoha 12’s canonical final shinobi ranks and noticed that most of them remain chunin. While a lot of people in fanfic like to make all of them jonin, i think leaving most of them as non-jonin makes sense for what kishimoto wanted the rank of jounin to be. it’s supposed to be incredibly difficult to achieve and in manga canon, you can only become jonin through recommendation by enough shinobi, and then the Hokage will promote you if they believe you worthy.

The anime mentions a “jonin exams” but i think this doesn’t make sense given how bloody even the chunin exams is. they’d lose out on so many perfectly good soldiers by allowing all of them to get in an arena and kill each other.

Different villages may have different requirements for their jonin, so for now I am only discussing Konoha.

Konoha jonin are generally required to be able to use at least 2 nature transformations, though I do believe there are exceptions to this. They are often sent on A and S-rank missions, and are the only shinobi allowed to take on missions alone, without a team. Most jonin get assigned to lead/teach a squad of 3 genin.

interestingly, being an ANBU member does not carry a prerequisite of being a jonin, as it is stated that ANBU scout for members from any ranks, the only prerequisite being that they are at least 13 years old.

Of the main and notable people we follow in Naruto’s generation (so the k12), the following are the ones who make jonin by the end of shippuden: Neji, Shikamaru, Sakura, Rock Lee. This is also (I believe) in order of promotion as well. Shikamaru and Sakura were promoted at the same time.

Naruto and Sasuke being the exceptions, with both of them still technically being genin even by the end of the series, this leaves everyone else as chunin.

Konoha has the rank of tokubetsu jonin, aka tokujo aka special jounin. These are jounin that specialize in one particular aspect of being a jonin. examples include Ibiki Morino, who is the head of T&I, Genma Shiranui, Hayate Gekko, and Anko Mitarashi.

They are often sent out on as the team leaders on the missions that require their particular skill set, or as squad members under a jonin.

The members of the K12 specifically are quite exceptional for their age, and while they might not be on the same level as Team 7’s god-killing level, some of them are still notably stronger than the level of other chunin we see.

Hinata retires at chunin to be a housewife, which I am not upset about because she clearly doesn’t want to be a shinobi if she doesn’t have to be. If she did not retire, I would keep her as a chunin.

Choji staying a chunin also makes sense to me, as I do not see him actively attempting to be promoted to jonin, as does Shino, since all Academy teachers are chunin.

Kiba should end up as a tokubetsu jonin, with a specialty as a tracker. His mother Tsume is also a tokujo and I assume she does the same thing. Given that tracking and other such reconnaissance is very common for Shinobi, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a division of tokujo headed by the Inuzuka that are called on for various tracking needs.

Tenten is my blorbo and I am deeply biased about her so everything I say here is through the blorbo lenses, but I think that her canonical ability level is solidly chunin and stays there, but with the sealing expertise that I often give her in fics, she comes up to tokujo level, and I think she works with all sorts of seals, whether transportation or supply runs, but primarily with the Barrier Team and maintains a sealing barrier around the village.

Ino should be a tokujo for the same reason that Ibiki is a tokujo. Ino’s dad is the head of the Analysis Team, a subset of the Konoha Intelligence Team that works with T&I to extract information from prisoners’ minds. As a Yamanaka and the next clan head, Ino absolutely fills in her dad’s role, specializing in interrogation, and is granted the rank of tokubetsu jonin for this.

so this would leave the final rankings as follows.

Jonin: Shikamaru, Neji, Sakura, Lee

Tokubetsu Jonin: Tenten, Ino, Kiba

Chunin: Hinata, Shino, Choji

Genin: Naruto, Sasuke

this is skewed compared to the general shinobi population, but that’s okay with me since the K12 are special and the main characters and whatnot.

Generally, we see sort of a bell curve in terms of the amount of population in each category, with most shinobi being chunin or tokujo and the fewest being jonin.

It is 4am. I should be sleeping. However, since my own chronic illnesses are keeping me awake, I figured I would let you all in on my own personal disabilty/chronic illness headcanons for our favourite stranger things blorbos.

So because I am a firm believer that certain characters can not survive the Upside Down episodes without there being some form of physical impact to their well-being beyond the obvious mental toll I have thusly concocted a list below for you of my own personal headcanon'd disabilities and chronic illnesses and the characters that develop them.

Starting with Eleven for a change since y'all know I am obsessed with Steve, we'll shake it up a bit.

This girlie definitely gets Daily Migraines. You cannot tell me that the toll of using her powers is limited to the nose and ear bleeding. That powerful brain of hers absolutely forces inconvenient shut downs the stronger she gets and the more she uses her powers. (She and Steve bond over the experience of how shitty migraines are.)

Additionally, due to her significant mental trauma and abuse, our super girl develops fibromyalgia and all the lovely (/s) symptoms therein. As a fibro sufferer, I truly believe that El is a great choice to explore the impact the condition has on a person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. (Is my fibro currently flared up and making me cranky? Yes. Yes, it is.)

Next up is Max!

This one is a no-brainer, especially post-season 4, but our fiesty redhead is wheelchair bound and vision impaired. I feel like she is primarily ambulatory, and can get by on crutches for short distances but between the impaired eyesight and the general chronic pain and weakened limbs from the multiple fractures in both her arms and legs she prefers the chair. It puts less stress on her limbs and while she grieves over the loss of ability to skate, gaining a new set of wheels to attempt tricks in - and give Steve an early heart attack - lessens the emotional hurt to be more manageable.

On to Will now, because that boy has s u f f e r e d and that means I am able to make him suffer more for my own catharsis as a writer.

Hoo Boy! Will has some serious goddamn upside down induced chronic conditions. First up, severe asthma, you cannot make me believe his lungs weren't severely fucked up from his first round with the UD. Boy was stuck there for 5 days in that ashy atmosphere and then you had the weird sludge tube that was shoved down his throat etc before he was rescued.

Number two, is a toss up between bronchiectasis or Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD probably makes the most sense but either or would work. This boy's lungs are fucked I tell you, absolutely fucked.

Moving on to - you guessed it - Eddie! I couldn't do this lost without including the love of Steve's life (my own opinion you don't have to subscribe to it).

Eddie definitely develops Complex Regional Pain Syndrome following his banquet for the bats. His left leg is the worst for it, along with his abdomen and upper torso. If I had been more organised I would find the fanart floating around here of Eddie with crutches cause fuck yeah he would absolutely kill it with crutches. And also likely use them to hit people because the impulse is hard to control, especially in crowds with pushy people.

For consideration is the possible impact the bats may have had on his internal organs. But this I will admit is beyond my personal experience and chronic illness knowledge, it would still be interesting to see Eddie with ongoing gastrointestinal issues.

Last but by no means least my favourite whump victim Steve Harrington.

Now, to get the obvious and fanon approved chronic conditions out of the way. This boy has some severe head trauma courtesy of Billy and the Russian Interrogators. And with that comes a few staple chronic illnesses and disabilities, which, as previously mentioned, fanon has adopted. Chronic Migraines is number 1. Impaired vision and loss of hearing are number 2 and 3. The head trauma trifecta if you will.

In addition, I would like to put forward another chronic illness forward for consideration. Hypermobility either as Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDs) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD). Why? Because it's again been kicking my ass and I want to cathartically torment my blorbos with it. I just also really like the idea of Steve having the ability to pull out the hypermobile joint thing as a party trick as a teen like I use to before it all goes to shit as he hits his twenties and suddenly everything hurts all the fucking time. I just also believe that being as sporty as he is, he definitely dislocated his shoulders and sprained his ankles and wrists on multiple reoccurring occasions, and just shrugged it off without realising there was a reason for that.

Honestly, the biggest thing for me is to inflict the same suffering I endure onto my blorbos for both equal measures of catharsis and representation.

The only illness I have that I have yet to find a blorbo victim for is my Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTs). Although I won't lie, I am very tempted to inflict it upon Steve post septic shock or bat bite infection because the impact that would have on his mental health? Delicious whumpage, and a great way for me to personally process my feelings about the disabling impact it has had on my life.

Anyway, it has now been over an hour and a half of typing this post AND the tags. I really need to try and sleep, so hopefully, getting this out of my head and onto your dashes helps that along.

Off topic, but fuck do my elbows hurt. The joint pain of HSD fucking sucks.

i dont think solavellan needed a fade-to-black scene per se but for me personally it really could've used a scene between the romance lock & crestwood. there's so much blank space in the romance otherwise, i don't feel like i actually know what their relationship looked like in the day-to-day. the ways that solas showed up for lavellan & cared for them the way they do in his personal quest, in asking him questions, in valuing his opinion...

kav.eh - surprisingly the least developed, but he's definitely imaginary remembrance, using me.hrak as a summon. kinda waiting for the next patches to drop on more lore of the remembrance as a whole before i commit to anything big on this, though!

neuv.illette - one of the judges of the ten lords comm.ission, a vidyadha.ra involved in the imbibitor lunae's arrest and subsequent imprisonment to the shackling prison. now forced to bare witness more towards the schemes that surrounded this, it's certain he feels a certain amount of guilt for making such a choice. def on the hunt path - element i am uncertain of.

tartag.lia - once a child with big dreams and goals to join the silvermane guard, he disappeared one day during his youth down a hole never to be seen by his family or friends again. truthfully, he disappeared into the path of the nihility, only to be rescued by one of it's emanators, ski.rk. unfortunately, it wasn't specified which area of belo.bog ski.rk was to return to the child to and he's been living in the underground ever since. is a pretty infamous champ at the fightclub. i believe him and luca are good friends and you cannot convince me otherwise. he is lightning nihility though, im very sorry acher.on and kaf.ka ...

thom.a's and aya.kas are pretty intertwined but separate - they alongside aya.to were all childhood friends on a planet that was eventually attacked by dr prim.ative. tho.ma essentially ends up taking a risk to sacrifice himself so that aya.ka and aya.to get away, much to their dismay but inability to stop, but he is eventually found by the galaxy rangers and taken in, he is fire the hunt. ayaka, in comparison, ends up travelling around a few places with her brother. they're still inseperable, but are now considered stowaways with no real home. they have the same goal as tho.ma, to find each other and then, maybe then they'll be able to find some semblence of home again.

I’m not really here bc I just got back from celebratory kbbq and a rewatch of thg but now I’m back on my bs about clove and cato re: the two tributes, same district rule. the way they were the only district pair outside of katniss/peeta and how i firmly believe they both would have been allowed to go home if they won (vs reneging the rule for district 12) this is also why her being a co-victor is my default verse to set her in. that rule felt written for them and i do daydream about a friendship, if not more forming. in the book, cato ran to her when thresh killed her and held her when she died. given that we know cato to be cold and calculating (or at least from katniss’s pov), that bit of warmth and humanity reads as if they were more than district partners. they were a team and the capitol audience would have eaten that up and would have loved to pit them against the “star crossed lovers” of 12. i also like to think her death played a part in cato’s mental decline. he realizes he’s a pawn, but perhaps her death was the last push over the edge to know that the capitol didn’t care about any of them.

idk this is rambly but the idea of the rule change being in part because of clove and cato really gets me emotional, especially over how much it implies about them and their relationship

hello, hello, you all — so... i hope you all are having a great thursday thus far, and i thought i'd bring this up now since i hadn't before; but with ana's zombification comes some noticeable differences to his behavior as well as appearance. because, and don't get me wrong, he was already pale before... but now anastasiy's skin now has this pallor that takes on a sickly look. and it has become necessary for ana to have to apply some concealer to his skin daily to hide the fact that his lips are, indeed, sort of tinged blue + some veins (particularly around his eyes and mouth) can clearly be seen and it definitely isn't the most uhh. natural look, to say the least JSJSJ

now, i'll probably cover more about his behavioral differences later, but one thing is that this man does have these SICK and TWISTED urges to consume human flesh as a zombie would in typical fiction would... so that's lovely / j LMAO nahhh, i'm totally being sarcastic with y'all right now as that is actually horrifying. but anastasiy does try his darndest to resist giving into this temptation because cannibalism is a BIG no-no in society for a reason (because its absolutely terrible and extremely gross) + with... slightly mixed results 😬

"---I guess that most people expect me to be the one asking for all the kisses, all the time..." Steven replies, lighthearted, a smile stretching across his features, "... but, funny enough, I'm not! Neither am I the one to give the most kisses..."

There's amusement, but also a certain kind of excitement lingering within his dark eyes now, and Steven chuckles as he shifts a bit on his seat - like a kid trying utterly hard to not spill everything all at once, anticipation rising.

"You know, Marc doesn't really ask for kisses - at least not, like, verbally." Brows rising, a nod following. "---And if he's asking for them, he's doing it subconsciously so almost... like, he's gazing at us in a certain kind of way, or does that cute little pout-thing with his mouth, or... yeah, such things."

Steven does the pout-thing as well, by the way - just out of different reasons, most of the time.

"He gives kisses, of course. I mean, I certainly give kisses, a lot of them, but... yeah, well, Marc gives kisses as well. He likes to kiss us, and he does, and it's great! But it's... you know, he isn't, like, going all out and kisses us out of nowhere; He's doing such when there's a reason existing, like us cuddling, or one of us being sad, or..." Steven shrugs, waves a hand, then smiles again.

There it is again, that kind of excited shift on his seat, followed by a lift of both brows and a feigned thoughtful expression, complete with a finger being pressed to his bottom lip.

"---That means, however---"

---A sudden switch, expression turning from something puppy-like and soft to something much more collected, yet very entertained; The smile their body portrayed shifts into a smirk, then a grin, with Jake showing off his upper teeth as he chuckles, leaning back in his seat. Nonchalant. Lazy, almost.

Proud, even.

Then, he lifts both hands into the air - as if presenting himself, complete with a cocked brows and a tilt of his head.

"It's me! Hi, I'm the problem, it's me." Yes, he is totally speaking those words in a certain kind of melodic tone that might be found in a viral pop song made by a rather popular singer...
