This whole debate about where Link lives is funny because:

1) there's nowhere else where it's implied that he lives (and he needs to live somewhere ??? Lol. Also, he can sleep in Zelda's bed, but not in any other NPC's bed)

2) it is canon that he's practically always with Zelda (so it isn't practical for him to live far away from her)

3) it is also canon that Zelda made that secret room to concentrate better when she works alone (why would she need an extra room if she lives alone?)

Edit to add: 4) she hid her gift for Link outside the house so he wouldn't find it until after their investigations (I'm quoting the text from Zelda's diary). If he doesn't live in the Hateno house there would be no risk of him finding it and no need to hide it outside

I think Nintendo just made it ambiguous because they'd rather being killed than making a main character ship canon, lol

TOTK where everything is more or less the same except the dragon tears are as giant as the springs that Zelda went to, and Link has to wade through them to experience the vision. On top of that, after he sees the vision in full, he can relive that vision for as long as he stays in those tears.

Now, the reason why I want that is because I want to see Link witness the final memory and turn numb with denial and guilt and grief. It should not have surprised him the way it did; he knew in the previous memories she had planned to do it. But there were still more geoglyphs to search, still more time and hope for her to realize there was a different way, a better one that didn't ask her of so much.

He was wrong, of course. Destinies like theirs were never so generous.

Imagine that he appears expressionless, a stark contrast to his more emotional nature that has come out during gameplay. And yet his eyes are noticeably glazed over and he's frozen to the bed of the spring. The sages watch him through their vows, knowing this to be the last memory, and they feel it, immediately, that something is wrong. They desperately try to talk through their avatars, much to the surprise of their loved ones.

"Link? Link, snap out of it!"

He hears nothing.

And so the scene parallels to the off-screen moment Urbosa had with Zelda -- a careful Sidon wills his avatar to carry Link away from the cursed waters, and is pained when he's met with vehement resistance. Why would his wonderful friend drag himself back there, when whatever he saw tore his heart and shattered his soul? It wasn't good for him, to deal with grief in such a poisonous manner.

But for Link, he would weather the heartbreak in watching that bright, curious, ambitious girl sacrifice everything that made her who she was infinitely if it meant he could commit her face to memory. The Sheikah Slate that he took pictures of her with had been dismantled, and the Purah Pad contains no recollection of Zelda. He would watch his princess lose herself, over and over again, in that damned tear, than forget what she looked like.

He couldn't do that to her. Not again.

In the meantime, Tulin, Riju, and Yunobo have created a circle around him together, blocking the hero from hurting himself any further.

By this point, Link's expression is wavering, brows furrowed and lips pressed to a thin line. They don't get it, do they? All of the closest friends he had from an era past are gone; yes, Impa, Purah and Robbie are still alive, and they belong to that era too, but they didn't know him like the Champions did. Like Zelda did. She fought for him in death as much as he fought for her in life, and now he lost her too.

He finally collapses to the ground, shaking, and cries.

He had one job: Protect the princess. And he failed her. Twice.

Imagine how terrifying it would be for Link to be sat at the reservoir alone at night. Then suddenly Sidon does one of those great white shark jumps into the air. Like the water was still and pitch black like THAT WOULD BE TERRIFYING. LINK WOULD BE TERRIFIED.

Sidon thought he was just doing a cool trick to surprise his bf and gave Link a hernia.

Random Sidon Headcannon

So I've always been pretty into sharks. And recently I've gotten into the Zelda franchise. And it got me thinking...

Sharks are color-blind(Or at least thought to be). As far as I'm aware, Sidon is the only shark-inspired Zora. Does that mean Sidon is color-blind?

Anyway, the reason why Sidon likes Link so much is because he's Red-Green colorblind. And since Link's hair is yellow and his eyes are blue(two colors Sidon can see really well) he just ended up gravitating towards Link.

only that now you felt bad for lying to them. they did nothing wrong, except falling in love with the wrong guy

but when you brought it up to sidon, trying to convince him to go out with one of them instead and break off your fake relationship, he refused

during your time together, he began to see you differently. you two were always close, but now he wanted to be even closer to you!

he wanted to be more than just your fake boyfriend, while you just didn't want to hurt anyone…

“I think I should take another test.”

he’s just outside, pacing back and forth in front of the door

and he has nothing but positive things to say

“And even if this one ends up being negative, we can always try again.”

and you look at the test

Sidlink headcanons bc i am unwell about them

- the first time Link sounds out Sidon's name Sidon tears up 😁👍

- Link is very bad at receiving compliments. Sidon is very good at giving compliments and turning Link into a Mess

- Muzu shaking his fists when he realise not one but BOTH of King Dorephan's kids...he can't help but grow to like Link too tho bc Link is the domain's errand person 🫡

- matching body jewelry sets (sidon's is opal & luminous stones and he had one ruby & luminous set made for link because it matches his scales....)

- over time they develop certain signs for Link to communicate ideas and the most used one has to be "are you alright/safe?"

- Link adopts Royal Guard Mode when he's out with Sidon out of instinct...Sidon finds it adorable but also "Link I can't see you if you walk behind me please I just want to hold your hand"

- they go swimming together all the time with Link on Sidon's back

-i just imagine Sidon giving the best heckin care to Link after they have their lil sweet time together he would always check if Link is doing alright and fine, yes he knows Link is more than capable of handling more rougher treatment but he just loves his pearl so much

-Link would totally be up to pamper Sidon not in kisses or any usual affections but he would cook Sidon's favorite dish when the Zora's tired from all of his responsibilities as Zora King and even pre calamity Zelda wrote it herself in her diary that Link is a glutton and its the only time he could be happy is with food, so Link is using food to cope and I think he would no doubt see Sidon sad and think 'maybe a nice hearty blueshell soup might help out' and so he would cook it, give it to Sidon and give some words of encouragement, or sign them, I'm fine with either Link being talkative or silent headcanon

-whenever the two are in bed, Link would always try to be the bigger spoon and Sidon would be more than happy to let him do so, but in the end they would end up facing together with Sidon not able to help himself but comb Link's hair with his fingers because it feels nice to him and it's something he is not used to in his own domain

-Sidon is the one who loves giving pet names to Link and in public it always never fails to make the Hylian blush, but behind closed doors is where Link would shower back praises and words of affection, not wanting to let others see how vulnerable he can get with Sidon but still wants Sidon to know how much he means to Link

Headcanons with no proof but I js feel it y’know?

Ganondorf is flat. That man has no ass.

Sidon doesn’t know fully how to express love because when Mipha died he didn’t interact with many people for like 20-50 years.

Link and Zelda have separation anxiety.

When link gets sick it hits him like a freight train but he’s only sick for like 3 days. While Zelda is the opposite it comes on slow she is out of commission for a day in the middle of it but otherwise she’ll have not more then a cough, congestion, and maybe a sore throat if its really bad.

Mineru is Rauru’s older sister and she makes sure to tell Zelda ALL the embarrassing stories abt him.

Sonia sometimes gets sick with things with similar symptoms to what killed out the Zonai so it worries Rauru

Link and Zelda got married 2 years before the events of totk

5 years passed between BOTW and TOTK

Teba may have not been the sage in TOTK (and it WRECKS me when he’s completely removed from the wholesome art and moments between the others like.. :( he still played such an important part and is still such a vital member to the group aahh) BUT to me he still holds the spot as being the best father to both Tulin and father figure to the others.
