Winx Girls as Pretty Little Liars
Bloom as Spencer Hastings
Here, I struggle a bit. On the one hand, she has the artsiness of Aria Montgomery, and her family interaction with her parents is similar to Aria. What I mean by that is that they would have fun game nights like the Montgomerys. Bloom has a close relationship with her mom, just like Aria has with her.
However, one thing I wanna focus on is the obsessive nature of Bloom. She does research and bites into the small information she has. And goes on to stubbornly research and try to find out what is going on. (For example, when Stella's ring was stolen in season 1 by the Trix she tries to research why that could be and then wants to figure out what the Dragon could mean. Further, her wants to figure out who Daphnee is). And that is like Spencer Hastings!
In the first season, especially, she reminds me of Spencer. As I mentioned before, she desperately tries to figure out what is going on with her past or other happenings such as with the Trix. She has a complicated family life. As she finds out, she is adopted (Spencer was adopted by Veronica Hastings). Although here I wanna point out the family situation is COMPLETLEY different (looking at you Peter Hastings 😒👀! You could never be Mike).
Although the relationship between Spencer's mom and Spencer is rocky for a couple of seasons, after the time jump they have a wonderful relationship. Spencer struggles with the realization that her mom is not her biological mom same like Bloom.
They both struggle with sleeping (at least Bloom in season 1 and Spencer in seasons like nr 4).
They both are the leaders and take charge of a situation. They both struggle with their identities, although in different ways. Both come down to one issue, and that would be belonging. They both feel an ambiguity of belonging. They rely on their friends to feel like they belong when they struggle, such as Bloom with her birth parents when she relies on her friends to talk about it. While Spencer relies on her friends to have feelings of belonging when she feels alienated from her family. Overall, they are both loving friends. They both would do anything for their friends and would charge into danger for them.
Do you agree?
Stella as Hanna Marin
I think Stella resembles Hanna Marin. Hanna's home life is a struggle with her parents. They are divorced like Stellas. Both were put through a lot by their fathers girlfriend and daughter.
They both love fashion, are it-girls or what is typically described as a blond bombshell. However, in the past, Stella struggled with her looks. In season 2 she tells the story of her being the ugly duckling and having to watch the guy she had a crush on go to the dance with the beautiful it-girl. Hanna Marin struggled similarly, she was overweight and picked on for that both by her supposed best friend Alison Dilaurentis (yes even tho I love you Ali I am calling you out) but also by her father who called her little piggy (if I remember correctly, could also have been in the books).
Both stick their foot in their mouth at times and unintentionally say something harmful in a situation
*Alexa play a compilation of Emily Fields saying, "Shut up, Hanna"
Anyway, they are both fiercely loving friends, loyal to a fault, and ride or die for their friends. Even though they sometimes don't seem like the best friend. (We do not acknowledge Hannas behaviour after season 6 a.)
Alexa play a compilation of Stella being "just honest"
To sum it up, they are both blunt.
Hanna is academically not the best. She also does not really care for school and has a clear goal in mind. Working in fashion. Although she has her smart moments it is mostly not in relation to school work.
Stella also does not perform well in school. Yet she has the clear goal of wanting to become a great fairy who brings quarreling loved ones back together (doing so while in style, obviously). Yet throughout the show, Stella is shown to be smart, such as Season 2 final when she cracked the color coordination riddle.
And of course, they are both the funny friend. If you wanna have a good time and be cheered up, they are your go-to friends.
Do you agree?
Layla/Aisha as Emily Fields
Emily and Layla have a lot of similarities from struggles at home to character to hobbies.
First let's look at the homelife. Emily is still in the closet when the series starts and it is obvious that her mother is strict and at times controlling. Such as in season 1, episode 1 when she talks to Emily about Arias style. She judges Aria and her parents for letting their daughter run around like "a goth" for having pink stripes in her hair. This already sets the mood and showcases that their household is more on the conservative side. This is futher supported by Emilys moms reaction to her being a lesbian (or bisexual in the books. To all my Bi fellows, I see you and love you).
When we find out more about Layla throughout Season 2 and 3 she comes from a more conservative royal family. It also starts with her being raised by nannies and how she had the pressure of holding herself like a proper princess. Further, it spans along a conservative tradition of arranged marriage. Her parents come around in the end and tell her that she is free to choose and you cannot force someone to love another. This is something Emily's mom realizes later on too.
Obviously, these are different situations but they are different genres of media and I just want to showcase in essence that core problems such as family issues, characters (flaws), and other things are present in both shows and some character traits are similar and more with one or another character.
Secondly, they are both sensitive and strong. We see in Pretty little liars that Emily struggles a lot and was considered the "weaker link" of the group. However, over time she became stronger and turned out to be extremly tough. I think that does reflect Layla. As you can see how she was timid and shy in flashbacks and how her homelife had affected her mental state such as her fear of darkness. I think Emily's fear of rejection, accepting and understanding her sexuality has made her struggle a lot and once she is honest with herself and accepts that this is who she is, the viewers can see a change in her. She becomes stronger and fiercely protective over her friends.
Similarly, Layla faces her fear of darkness, isolation, and loneliness throughout seasons 2 and 3. For one, she gets her charmix for overcoming her fear of the darkness because she needs to be strong, get out of the cave, and get back to her friends as she thinks they need her as they are in danger. Another thing I want to point out is in Season 3 when she receives her Enchantix. The girl who is afraid of darkness and then gets blinded by Valtor does not hesitate to save a life over her becoming her eyesight back. Even though that would mean she would always see darkness.
I think both of them have a support system, for Emily the liars (and also her mom) and for Layla, the Winx gave them more confidence and helped them bloom into the amazing women they are.
Lastly, their hobbies. Both Emily and Layla are the sporty friends in their group. Emily is a swimmer, she trains with weights, runs, and also likes to dance. Layla also loves to dance and both Emily and Layla are good at it. Layla likes to partake in sporty activities such as riding a wind glider or we see her often do acrobatic stunts (for example season 3 episode 1 when she catches Bloom's luggage.)
Musa:
Musa as Aria Montgomery
This is a bit of a tough one and a bit of a stretch but here we go. Musa and Aria have as much in common as they do not. Two factors I want to focus on the most are their love life and their hobbies. I think both characters are underdeveloped. Sadly Musa does not have as much of a backstory or centered storylines as Bloom, Stella, or even Layla. While Aria at first seemed promising and was the main focus of the show which shifted later on. She remained a bland character only having two defining features which are the artsy one and Ezra Fitz (Alexa play Mike's Mic calling crust lord Ezra Fitz out).
Musa has some backstory with her mom dying but the biggest trait is her being musical (I mean she is the fairy of music) but also the back and forth with Riven. I think overall, her big plot lines are Riven and being musical. Therefore, similar to Aria.
But let's get into the similarities. I think both Aria and Musa are outspoken and are not to be messed with when they are angry. Both are shown to have a bit of a temper at times. Both go stubbornly for what they want (even when in this case what Aria wants is Ezra "Felon" Fitz. Which btw I do not blame her for she is a 16 year old and has a crush on her teacher which happens. Then gets groomed by him and believes this is love.)
Anyway, she fights for him like nothing else. (I want to point out that I mean Arias's drive and want. Not that Musa is being groomed or something like that.) Musa's drive is similar to Aria's. I think Musa shows the same drive to follow what she wants with her singing career. Especially when her father is against her singing.
Both their fathers are complicated as Musa's dad was a musician. Yet, he does not want his daughter to be one (which is kind of understandable considering what happened with Musas mom).
Arias's dad hooked up with one of his students too. But yet again this is a situation that in nature is different and therefore not comparable. Although I do condemnm any teacher-studentt relationship no matter if in school or universityy. I just want to focus on the issue of both of them having a specific wish and going for it even if it is disapproved by their parents or a struggle.
Editors note: Byron you ain't shit. When I see you it is on sight for cheating on Ella with one of your students and dating her later on leading to Aria getting hurt. HOWEVER, i give it to you I am 100% on your side when it comes to Ezra Fitz.
Both father's have good reasons to disapprove of their daughters actions and I do think Byron is right and should have pressed charges against Ezra "Fellon" Fitz. And if they actually went through with the storyline in a proper way calling out grooming I think it would have been great.
As I actually think it was a great storyline to do with Musa and her dad. I think this could have been longer and called out how everyone deserves healthcare and poor people should not die just because they have no money to buy medicine. So here I think both Arias and Musa's storylines were a bit butchered and the conflict was cut short.
Anyway, let's move on to their shared hobbies. Both of them are into the arts. Aria has a wide range of art hobbies such as pottery, photography, and singing. Musa shares an interest in singing with Aria. And both are amazing at it. Therefore, they have the title of the artsy friend. This, I think, is their biggest similarity.
Let's talk about their love life. Both of their love life is a struggle. But I want to reiterate here that Ezra and Riven are NOT the same. Ezra is a felon and should rott in jail. While Riven was in part a troubled young man of Musa's age. Riven had a great arc in Season 1 and I wish they would have done more with him. I only watched until season 4 or 5 and honestly. Riven was insufferable to me in Season 4. He could have been great but I think they butchered him. I think Riven could have been developed into a Caleb Rivers-esque character.
Anyway, without looking at the details both Arias and Musa's love life is a bit difficult. Musa likes Riven who has no interest in her before and gets together with Darcy (due to several circumstances), once they get closer to each other they struggle with understanding one another and fight often. It is a constant back and forth.
Aria struggles similarly her love life is a struggle and back and forth.
However, I will NOT compare Ezra to Riven. They are not the same. And it would be an injustice to Riven to compare them.
What about Flora and Tecna?
I think we do not know enough about these characters. Both lack backstory and even though we once visited Flora's home it was not the main focus. So it is a bit of a struggle to find similarities between FLora and Tecna and Pretty Little Liars.
Tecna as Mona Vanderwaal
If I was forced I would say Tecna and Mona could be compared on the grounds of their high intelligence and computer knowledge. BUT Mona is extremely manipulative, and can become whatever she needs to be in a situation. What I mean by that is she acts like a dumb it-girl, then like the sweet smart girl in recovery, etc. Tecna does not display any of these traits. She is straightforward and doesn't act like anyone but herself. However, I think both Tecna and Mona are protective of their friends and are not to be underestimated (yet routinely are.)
Mona in Season 3 does bad things to the girls but is also trying to help and protect the liars. I think if she was ever one of the liars she would be the protector. Tecna is 100% the protector of the group. She is the first one to put up a shield and stand in front of the girls. We already see that in Season 1 Episode 2 when Bloom is attacked by the Trix. I do sometimes think Tecna is not appreciated enough and also a bit on the outside. For example, when she actually had a plan to track down the Trix in Season 2 when the girls stay at Cloud Tower, she was ignored and Bloom was even annoyed by her. Bloom also ran off and left Tecna vulnerable to being attacked which she was. Mona in Season 3 b was trying to help the girls by showing them the RV she had stored all the A things. But it was gone (Toby took it) and the girls turned on her. Mona then went to her car and was attacked. Once she was attacked the girls helped her. (The winx helped Tecna once they realized she was attacked.) However, it is not really mentioned after and is more pushed aside. Both characters are only utilized when they have a need, like creating something to help the Winx or the Liars.
Both Mona and Tecna are cool characters that are more on the outside and I really wished they were not. I want to see them connect more with the Liars or Winx. Tecna does not have the same emotional scene with the girls like Musa and Layla, Stella and Bloom, and Flora and Layla.
Diaspro as Allison Dilaurentis Better yet Mellisa Hastings
I think Diaspro could be a really interessting charachter. She is a bit underutilized and I think this could have been a great enemies to allies storyline.
She has the shadyness of Alison and I think both are entertaining to watch. Their hair and clothes are both always spot on and they usually go for what they want and manipulate and control things.
Diaspro was brought up in royalty and as she said she had to act like a princess (which always comes with pressure) and therefore she deserved some reward and she goes to lengths to get that. (Using a potion from Valtor on Sky).
Similarly, Alison is somewhat Rosewood royalty. She is the Queen Bee and uses any means such as blackmail and threatening to get what she wants.
I think both of their arcs could have been better and showcase young women that are grey characters and morally ambiguous.
On the other hand, I think she would be a cool Mellisa Hastings. First of all, the connection to Bloom through Sky caused a complicated relationship between Bloom and Diaspro. Mellisa is shady af, and you never know where she stands. If she is part of the A team, associated with the A-Team, or not know anything about A but is part of the mystery. I think Diaspro would be a fun character for that. Questioning if she is on our side or not. I think this could have been a great development for her. Going from an Alison-esque character to Mellisa Hastings.

Could you imagine fighting side-by-side with the Master Chief from Installation 04 all the way to the end of the war, and meeting him again on Requiem. "I wanted to be like you, Chief."
YES, I can. I just adore these asks, gets my creative juices running. I really said we're making a short-fic with this.
The first thing that comes into mind is a Marine or an ODST that fought side by side with John through the ring. Someone who he ends up trusting considering they went through all this with him, the halo, the flood, and all that ‘fun’ stuff between. Honestly, he’s impressed they haven’t been killed yet but also how you had the ability to keep going despite everything you had faced and seen. John can think of commanders and captains who didn’t have the same resilience as you. He might even make a brief comment that you would be a good squad leader or commanding officer much to your delight.
So when he first goes MIA, it’s hard to believe that the Master Chief is gone and there is a lot of denial, but the years press on, and time doesn’t wait on anyone. I also think you would not only be grieving John’s ‘death’ but also Sergeant Johnson’s as he would’ve been your commanding officer during the war and a role model. Ultimately, you take John’s words to heart and climb up the ranks into command.
There isn’t much surprise when you are scouted out for the Spartan-IV program as one of the newest generation of Spartans by Musa Ghanem. It is surprising when he starts talking about John in an almost familiar tone and how he heard about the battles the two of you faced together on the halo. You are sold on the idea of the program as soon as Musa brings the Master Chief into the picture, what else was there than to be like him? And that maybe, if he did somehow come back, you could even have John’s back and fight for him.
As you delve into the Spartan-IV program with five others, you progress through the augmentation process, and enhancements reshape your body which lasts nearly three weeks. When it comes to training and field exercises, you and Sarah Palmer wipe the floor with the rest of the candidates. By the end of the program, you took the position of lieutenant commander as Sarah's right-hand Spartan. [Note: you and Sarah are probably besties after bonding by kicking ass. Also, Sarah has to stop you from committing something that might get you court marital a multitude of times on the UNSC Infinity, aka you almost punching the daylight out of 'captain' Andrew Del Rio.]
By the time Requiem rolls around, your reputation as a Spartan-IV and a capable leader has grown. So when you hear the distress signal, you know it's Cortana by voice alone and you are demanding to investigate, which almost prompts a fight between the captain and yourself that Commander Lasky has to intervene and side with you.
Conversation snips-
[Lasky] "I know you don't like Del Rio, Lieutenant, but I almost thought you were going to punch him."
[You] "I was this close."
[Lasky] "Your fingers are touching."
[You] "Exactly."
Or
[Lasky] "I've never seen you lose your cool like that."
[You] "I-If there is a possibility the Chief is alive, it's our job to investigate it."
[Lasky] "I feel like there is more than you're letting on."
When the UNSC Infinity crashes on Requiem, you manage to round up a squad of Spartan-IV and go scout the jungle area. It's the flash of metallic green that had you holding up your hand to stop the others from firing.
"Chief?" You call out in disbelief, your gun lower just a bit. You knew there was a possibility he was still alive but seeing him in the flesh, if it wasn't for the Spartan training, you would've started crying.
"No way...[Y/n]?" The feminine voice rang through your helmet and the sound of her on TEAMCOM had a grin touching your lips.
"'Tana! Long time no see." You gave your team a signal to hold off while you approached the Master Chief, he almost seemed to be scanning you up and down.
"You're huge! And wearing MJOLNIR."
"Ma'am yes ma'am," You chuckled. "Hi, Chief. It's good to see you up and causing trouble." This time around, John didn't seem to tower over you, he was still taller but it no longer felt like you had to crank your neck up.
"You became a Spartan?" It was a question, the first words to hear him say after all these years and you were grinning to the point your cheeks hurt.
"I wanted to be like you, Chief." You gave him a shrug. "I got scouted and here we are."
"I feel like there is more to the story than just that." Cortana quipped and you could absolutely imagine her with her hand on her hips, giving you that pointed look she did back on installation 04.
"Tell you what, we make it out of here, I buy drinks and I'll tell you everything that's happened in the last four and half years." The Spartan-ll tilted his head ever so slightly before giving you a curt nod.
"I think we would like that very much." The teasing tone in Cortana's voice didn't miss you by much and there was certainly a smile in her tone. Was she teasing you? That would have to be figured out later as several blips appeared on your radar. "So, just like old times?"

Second part of the bookscans of Al Andalus. Historical Figures, here's the previous part
The personality of this man offers many mysteries and contradictions. Some historians say that he was a Visigoth, or a Berber of Christian religion, and that his name would not be Julián, but Urban, from Ulban, in Arabic. The most reasonable thing could be that he is a military commander from the Byzantine square of Septem (Ceuta) which, after the fall of Carthage, continued to be the last Byzantine position in North Africa for a few more years. To maintain his position, it was logical that Julián established relations with his Berber neighbors and even the Visigoths of Baetica and it is also possible that he was on the side of the Witizas when they lost the throne in favor of Rodrigo.
The Muslim sources and, later, also the Christians, explain the causes that led Julián to help the Muslims in the conquest of Spania in such a way novel as well as legendary. They have acquired such strength that, even with skepticism, all historians collect them and they would be the following. The count had a daughter of great beauty, whom the king Rodrigo, one day, contemplated her bathing naked. Seduced by her charms he took her to Toledo and possessed her, it is not known if because of force or with the consent of the girl, who in this neither legends nor romances agree. The indignant father marched to Toledo to take his daughter and swore that he would avenge the affront inflicted on her honor. It is not well known why the daughter of Count Don Julián is called Florinda in Christian chronicles, and on her will fall the blame for all the ills of Spain. As if this were not enough,
the name will be completed with “la Cava”, a word of Arabic origin which translates to "prostitute".
Upon returning to Africa, the hurt count went to Ifriqiya to see Musa ben Nusayr, and put before his eyes the ease with which one could conquer Spania and the great advantages that would be obtained from it. The Muslim governor willingly accepted the offer and suggested that it would be Count Don Julián himself who carried out an incursion onHispanic lands. With a small army, Julian landed in the bay of Algeciras and in a daring raid, he returned to Ceuta with good loot and numerous captives. It would be approximately October or November of the year 709.
Musa began to consider the possibility of an expedition against Spania, but for this he needed the permission of the Caliph of Damascus. In addition, there was another problem: crossing the Strait of Gibraltar. The Muslims did not have ships and distrusted the marine environment that they considered a bit strange, but Count Don Julián would come to solve this problem. The Caliph of the East, for his part, continued to maintain his reservations about this operation that would ultimately be carried out, perhaps because the insistence of their North African governors.
Tarif ben Malluk
Finally, the first Muslim landing occurred in July 710. There were about four hundred men under the command of a Berber officer, Tarif ben Malluk, the first Muslim to set foot in Spania. His name would last, forever, in the
small island where they landed, the current Tarifa. It was more of an “informative” expedition than a threat of conquest or occupation. From that first landing the Muslims obtained Muslims obtained a great booty and a good number of captive Christian women, it seems to be that all of them are very beautiful. Musa ben Nusayr received his part and, possibly, this decided him to prepare a proper expedition. Did the events really happen like this? It is the most possible, butcertain historians suppose that the Muslims came to Spania after a request for help from the Witiza clan, eager to put an end to the power of King Don Rodrigo. Maybe conversations took place with Tariq, the governor of Tangier, through Count Don Julián, which could explain the success of the Muslim campaign, as well as its speed, therefore, let's say that the ground was fertile for said invasion, without forgetting that the bad government of the last years of the Gothic monarchy could also influence the population to see the invaders almost as if they were liberators who were going to rid of those despotic barbarians who already reigned in Spania for 300 years.
Musa ben Nusayr and Tariq ben Ziyad: the conquerors of Spania
Musa, after all the previous experiences, entrusted the command of the expedition to one of his freedmen, Tariq. It is not well known what Tariq's origin was, some
assume he was Berber and others say he was Persian. Count Don Julián accompanied him as a counselor and, with the ships that he had already put to Tarif's disposition, the strait was crossed. It was the best time to proceed to landing, since King Rodrigo was busy in the north of the Peninsula, or repressing an uprising of the Basques, or perhaps trying to stop the raids of Frankish troops.
Tariq and the first Muslim contingents stayed in the foothills of the Calpe mountain, which in time would be called Gibraltar, Chabal Tariq, in Arabic, that is, “the mountain of Tariq.” It was the year 711, between the months of April or May.
Tariq waited for all his men to disembark, whose number seems like it wasn't very big. Perhaps seven thousand, among whom the majority were Berbers, freedmen of different origins and very few pure Arabs.
He began by securing a position, the city of Carteya, located in the bay of Gibraltar. He then moved west and there created a base that would serve as support in the event that it had to backing out. It would be the future city of Algeciras. Count Don Julián was in the care of said base. It was advisable to be cautious in a land that they did not know, but prudence, as we will see, did not took less audacity to these first Muslim troops.
Rodrigo soon learned of the landing and the movements of the Muslim forces, and set out on marches forced towards Baetica. Tariq was also informed that the Gothic troops were marching against him and he thought that the most convenient would be to request reinforcements from Africa where five thousand men came from more, all Berbers. Po-
ssibly, at this time, the Muslims were joined by a certain number of sympathizers of the Witiza clan. Tariq decided wait for Rodrigo in the region of Algeciras. One flank of his army was placed near the Janda lagoon and the other on the heights of the Retín mountain range. His spies warned him that Rodrigo was approaching commanding 100,000 men, a figure that is undoubtedly very exaggerated, given by the Muslims to make even bigger their victory. The clash occurred on July 19, 711.
The success of Muslim weapons was surprising even for themselves, although it is very possible that it was because the two wings of Rodrigo's army were commanded by the relatives of Witiza, perhaps his brothers or his children, and in a certain moment, they left the battlefield. Rodrigo tried to hold the center of his troops that he led personally, but Muslim pressure forced him to retreat, with great human losses. Spania's luck was cast.
Tariq ben Ziyad, the victor, found himself faced with the dilemma of returning to Africa and receiving new orders from Musa, as had been scheduled, or continuing the conquest of a territory that seemed defenseless. He and his troops were enraged by the victory achieved, and encouraged by Count Don Julián and Witiza's supporters, Tariq decided to continue the advance. Córdoba was their next objective, but first they had to conquer Écija, where a large number of escaped Visigoths were taking refuge. A new victory near this city encouraged Tariq's spirit even more, while
he saw how he was joined by a mass of dissatisfied people fed up with the Visigothic regime. The Jews, both those of the south and later those of Toledo, would side with the invaders, after suffering the unspeakable under the Gothic monarchy.
The capital of the kingdom, the imperial Toledo, was the next goal of Tariq and his people. The city did not put up any resistance. Faced with the Muslim advance, its inhabitants fled. Even the primate of Spania, Sinderedo, ran away and did not stop until he reached Rome. Tariq found an almost deserted city, abandoned to its fate, with palaces and churches full of riches of incalculable value, which were offered to him without any type of opposition. Tariq ben Ziyad continued advancing, it is believed as far as Alcalá de Henares, but winter arrived and he returned to Toledo to spend this hard season there.
Meanwhile, in Morocco, Musa ben Nusayr, instead of rejoicing at the successes achieved by his freedman, became angry and, possibly, envy did the rest. Musa had also been a victorious general, jealous of his authority, convinced that he was the best of soldiers, and he felt hurt in his self-esteem when he considered that a subordinate could overshadow him.
Levy Provençal points out that Tariq himself, surprised by the speed of his conquests as well as the breadth of the occupied territories, was able to request new shipments of troops from Musa to consolidate what had already been conquered, fearing a Gothic reaction. His leader was thus able to go to Spania, not only to punish what he considered the insolence of his freedman, but to complete and establish Mus-
lim power on the Peninsula. Now Musa ben Nusayr crossed the Strait of Gibraltar at the head of 18,000 men, almost all Arabs, among whom were many representatives of the new aristocracy formed by the successors of Muhammad. They landed in the area of Algeciras in June of the year 712. Upon arriving in Spania, it would have been logical for Musa to head towards Toledo to meet with his lieutenant, but before reaching him, he wanted to demonstrate that he was still the powerful warrior who had completed and ensured the conquest of Morocco for Islam. He attacked and took control of Medina Sidonia, Carmona and Alcalá de Guadaira, later besieging Seville. The chroniclers do not agree on whether the city fell soon or if the siege continued for a few months; it is most likely that the resistance was weak, and the truth is that the Visigoth garrison ended up evacuating the city, taking refuge in Niebla.
Seville was an important city, taken with relative ease, which decided Musa to attack Mérida, which at that time hosted the main supporters of King Don Rodrigo. But here things were not so simple. The city resisted throughout the winter of 712 and could only be taken on June 30 of the following year. As in Toledo, Mérida contained great riches that added to the war loot of the Muslims. Musa was approaching Toledo and sent a message to Tariq to come out to meet him. An uprising had broken out in Seville and Musa sent his son Abd al-Aziz to suppress it, an opportunity that he took advantage
to conquer the important squares of Niebla, Beja and Ocsobona.
Tariq left to meet his boss and went down to Talavera where this meeting took place which, according to Arab historians, cannot be said to have had anything friendly. Musa reproached Tariq for his behavior with very harsh words and it seems that he even hit him.
And here there is a diversity of opinions about what Musa's next performance was. Some say that he headed towards Salamanca, crossing the Sierra de Francia, since it was believed that Rodrigo was taking refuge there after the disastrous battle of La Janda. According to this version, he found the last Gothic king, who offered tough resistance, near a town called Segoyuela de los Cornejos, defeated him and killed him. It is very possible that Rodrigo died in battle, but since his body was not found or could not be recognized, legends grew around him, and many of these legends suggest that he was saved and walked through those worlds trying to purge the “sin” of the loss of Spania. Other historians, and it is believed that this is what most closely corresponds to historical reality, say that from Talavera he headed towards Toledo and there Tariq gave him the great riches found in the city, among which were the treasures royals and the treasures of the churches. Musa installed himself as a true king, and even minted coins in the mint of the ancient Gothic kings. They were golden salaries on which the religious formula of the Koran about the only and merciful God had been engraved on one side and on the other it indicated that the salary had been
made in Spania, indicating the Christian year and the year of the hegira corresponding to the coinage.
Musa had to spend the winter from 713 to 714 in Toledo, enjoying everything that the royal city offered and considered it appropriate to send messengers to the caliph to inform him of the successes obtained against the Visigoths, as well as the conquest of the capital of the Kingdom. And at this time he took the opportunity to conquer Zaragoza, taken in the year 714. It seems that his intention was to continue towards Lleida, along the Roman road that linked Zaragoza with Barcelona, perhaps thinking of reaching Frankish lands, but when the messenger returned sent to the caliph al-Walid, interrupted his purposes. He and Tariq had to travel to Syria to present the results of their campaigns to the caliph. However, before leaving, Musa did not want to leave the Peninsula without first securing the conquest of the Cantabrian Mountains and the wide region that extended at its feet and which would later be called Old Castile. Tariq was ordered to follow the Roman road that advanced from Zaragoza through the upper Ebro valley. Meanwhile, Musa followed another ancient route that passed through the south of the Cantabrian lands. Tariq followed the orders he received and was lucky that the Aragonese count Fortún converted to Islam to preserve his possessions, an attitude that was repeated by many nobles, and also by many villains, so as not to have to pay taxes to Muslims. He continued towards the province of Burgos and took control of León and Astorga, plundering them. Musa, for his part, went up the right bank of the Ebro River; He reached Soria and the upper Duero valley, heading north towards Asturias, Oviedo and Gijón. The inhabitants of these areas fled to take refuge in the Picos de Europa mountain range, terrain
very abrupt, to protect themselves from those men arriving from the south. Musa was satisfied, and considered that the time had come to march towards the East.
Around the end of the year 714, Musa and Tariq left for Syria. Musa's lieutenant was his son Abd al-Aziz. The journey of the two conquerors of Spania is very legendary, since it is said that, in a kind of triumphal procession, they brought abundant riches for the caliph and many Gothic captives who aroused admiration and curiosity wherever they passed. It seems that they first landed in Qayrawan and then in Ifriqiya and, from there, to Syria, where they arrived shortly before the death of the Caliph al-Walid, in February 715.
Neither Musa nor Tariq would return to set foot on the land they had conquered. The new caliph, Sulayman, had no appreciation for Musa. He considered that his family was becoming too powerful, and it is not known whether murdered or a natural death, Musa died shortly after his arrival in Syria. Tradition says that all of Musa's sons, the one who ruled Spania, another who ruled in Tangier and a third who ruled Kairouan, suffered the same fate as their unfortunate father. As for Tarif ben Malluk, who had won so many victories in Spania, who enjoyed so many moments of glory, he ended his military career and his life in the East, in total anonymity, without the reward or laurels he deserved, as happens so many times throughout history.

Issue Thirty-Seven: Together Again
Kgfijfjllkfjd they are arguing about beauty
Musa is extremely cranky 💕
"it almost seems intelligent" Musa jgjwjdjskdjsk lol shdjsjdjd she got her ass XD
Also I don't believe that Riven doesn't think Musa is beautiful but I DO believe that Riven struggles with expressing himself and Musa is extremely insecure which combines to make her think that
Which feels like what they're implying bc Stella outright staying Musa is super insecure in the next pannel
NFNSNSMDJFJDJFJRKD NO HESITATION
This three part comic has done more Helia's characterization than the entire show did, thank you for the food Winx club comics
I need to marinate on Helia's huge insecurity issues, bc he's a lot like both Timmy and Flora in that respect, and I wanna give him his own personal favor ❤️
Timmy dnwjdnfnjeen love the top
Cotradora is so worried about Saladin bfndje it's kinda adorable
Something fruity happened here
:/// this is the vibe why I don't like later seasons Rivusa
Like they used to be equal in their mental health issues and now Musa doesn't have those moments aside from insecurity
Comics Rivusa actually makes it work, but it's reminding me of s4 Rivusa and how much I hate them
Ahhh, they were thee BPD couple in the early seasons and I loved it so much bc two people who understand how much mental health hurts and causes you to hurt other people loving each other and being able to help each other forgive each other easily bc they both know what it is like being on both sides of the situation
Riven and Musa hanging out in the middle of the night because they were too anxious and paranoid to sleep if you even care, Riven and Musa helping each other though mood swings and dysregulation, Riven and Musa sticking together bc they've been abandoned before IF YOU EVEN CARE. God I love them,,, getting better together, I'm obsessed
They are sooooo adorable
Why not ask the people with magic who are not unarmed bc magic???? Help?????
Not trained in WHAT, Sky??????? He's been gone for like a month at most, what the fuck are you talking about???
I refuse to believe that Saladin actually has a house, he lives at Red Fountain. He just does, this is LIES
MFNSNDKSKKSDKSKS "AND YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED" I love her that was adorable
This is where I got Saladin's source being justice from. I don't think there's another instance of him using named magic so this is all I had lol
Miny Enchantix!!!! Look at them!!!

For Junia i thought it be cool to take one aspect of each girl like her love of marine biology = aisha, her interest in new inventions = tecna, sewing skills = stella, musical interest = musa, appreciation for nature = flora&roxy, and passion = bloom. I know it sounds a lil mary suish but the other girls have different&overlapping interests.
Also I'm thinking of altering her powers a bit. Maybe the fairy of Books/Curiosity? Fairy of Travel (she can conjure up portals?)? Maybe even a Nymph??? I dunno. Perhaps I could make& her be the Fairy of Night to counter Stella's solar power and cuz she rarely used her own moon powers in canon.

Jason deCaires Taylor, The Silent Evolution, 2011 Overview Jason deCaires Taylor’s The Silent Evolution (2011) is a monumental underwater installation consisting of 450 life-size sculptures in Mexico’s Museo Subacuático de Arte (MUSA), located off the coast of Isla Mujeres. The sculptures were made from pH-neutral materials designed to encourage coral growth, transforming the underwater museum into an evolving coral reef. This work not only draws attention to marine conservation but also serves as a habitat for marine life, creating a fusion between art and ecology.
Critical Analysis In The Silent Evolution, Taylor merges environmental art with direct conservation efforts, which I find particularly compelling. This piece challenges conventional views on art by integrating sustainable materials and placing the sculptures in the ocean to foster coral growth. By doing so, Taylor engages with critical frameworks surrounding eco-art and environmental activism, where the artwork goes beyond being a visual or conceptual statement and contributes tangibly to the ecosystem.
A central theme in this work, and in my own practice, is the intersection of art and environmentalism. As I have seen firsthand through diving, the ocean’s ecosystems are fragile and easily damaged by human activity. Taylor’s work creates an immersive experience where art helps rebuild these environments. This concept resonates with my belief that art can not only reflect on issues like climate change but can also be part of the solution. The underwater setting ensures that the audience, mostly divers, experiences the work in a space directly connected to the environmental issues it addresses, making the conservation message more impactful.
Taylor’s The Silent Evolution has influenced my own curatorial ideas, particularly regarding how art can engage audiences in conservation efforts. The installation’s ability to attract divers and foster environmental awareness demonstrates that art can create profound connections between viewers and the natural world. By incorporating natural materials and fostering coral growth, the piece also serves as an example of how art can contribute to the restoration of ecosystems, which I aim to explore in future exhibitions.
Through the analysis of this work, I critically reflect on my own curatorial strategies and how I can integrate environmental themes into art spaces to foster engagement and education. The Silent Evolution shows how immersive, interactive art can bridge the gap between aesthetics and activism, inspiring me to think more critically about how to create impactful exhibitions with real-world ecological benefits.

Street Art in Santorini
In the crater square of Oia, a village in Santorini, there is a striking Mosaic, which is an impressive example of public art on the island and reflects the region's historical connection to the ocean.
This circular mosaic is located in front of the Panagia Platsani church. It has three dolphins facing an anchor in the middle, and a sunburst pattern with the text ''2007 ΚΟΙΝΟΤΗΤA ΟΙΑΣ'' (which translates to " 2007 Community Oia").
The word "Mosaic", or Mosaic art, comes from the ancient Greek word "Musa", which is the name of the goddess of poetry, art and science. Therefore, there is a close relationship between Mosaic technology and artistic expression, in other words, Mosaic itself is an art. Throughout history, artists have been looking for materials that are both durable and immutable in order to create artworks that could last forever. In the aspect of three-dimensional performance, stone carving and metal casting were produced, and the performance in the plane was mosaic.
Meanwhile, dolphins have significant symbolic meaning for Greek civilization. Ancient Greek literature and art often feature this lovely and wise creature as a representation of joy, liberty, and harmony.
In ancient Greek mythology, dolphins were sometimes depicted as creatures that guided ships and protected sailors from danger. Moreover, dolphins are reckoned to be intelligent and friendly. The ancient Greeks considered them gentle creatures, and in some cases were even seen as possessing some kind of mystical, supernatural intelligence.
In conclusion, the "three dolphins mosaic", as a traditional street art of Greece, is of great local historical significance. It represents the people's eternal respect of nature and marine life.
