Florian carries 2 asbestos airbags and a utility box filled with chemical solutions.

(Inflation)

Florian injects chemical solutions into his airbag and releases it. This creates a chemical reaction that generates a large amount of gas, rapidly inflating the airbag to expand according to its surroundings. When the airbag expands, it swiftly repels all characters within range.

(Repulsion)

Florian's airbags are highly elastic. When inflated to a certain degree and then squeezed by a Survivor, they can propel the survivor up to 9.6 meters.

(Deflation)

Florian has designed an easy-to-operate exhaust method for his airbags. Survivors can deflate the inflated airbags, causing them to rapidly shrink and lose their size. The deflated airbags will remain in place, and only Florian, who is familiar with their structure, can pick them up again to replenish his airbag count.

(Destruction)

By virtue of the special materials used in their creation,Florian's airbags have excellent resilience and can only be destroyed when struck with 1 charged Hunter attack. Their formidable repulsive properties will also cause the Hunter to recover more slowly after attacking. However, destroyed airbags cannot be recovered.

(Expertise)

Florian's expertise allows him an airbag repulsion cooldown of 10 seconds,while ordinary Survivors have a cooldown of 15 seconds.

External Trait: Temporary Threshold Shift

Florian's hearing has been impaired dueto prolonged exposure to high-decibel noises, which makes it difficult for him to concentrate while decoding. His ability to focus is only restored when he is in environments without disruptive noise sources. Florian's Decoding Speed is reduced by 10%. When restraining Hunters, Florian's Decoding Speed gradually increases by up to 15%.

External Trait: Firefighting Training

Florian's dedication goes beyond post-incident investigations,as he has intentionally honed his skills to execute rescues during life-threatening fires. Florian's Interaction Speed increases by 10%. After using an airbag to repel a Hunter, Florian gains a 35% Speed Boost that lasts for 2 seconds.

Mural Restoration Expert Removes Iconic Mosaic Mural From David O. McKay Building Prior To Demolition

Back on June 21st I posted on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/FineArtConservation/ and https://www.facebook.com/bestartdoc/ … request “Friends”, leave a thumbs up, leave a comment?) that we were part of a team to save an iconic and historic mosaic mural on the North Shore of Oahu at BYU-Hawaii. The iconic mural has greeted visitors to the entrance of Brigham Young University-Hawaii Pacific cultures educational center for many decades and has been widely published.

Well, a week or so ago, we completed the removal of the entire cement wall, saving 100% of the historic mosaic mural in good condition, and have it documented for the architects and admin who will determine its reinstallation at an unknown future time. It was 1 of 3 murals in the entrance of the university. The other 2, I removed from their walls last Dec. 2023 which are also waiting for details of their reinstallation. They were painted in oil on canvas and were adhered to the wall. Each of these murals measures 11′ high by 33′ wide. We’ve been working with Okland Construction Co. on this project. Whereas most murals are made of ceramic or stone, this mosaic was made at a workshop in Venice, Italy out of glass tesserae.

The concept (it is not an image captured of an actual event) of the mosaic mural is by the artist, Edward Grigware, which came to represent Hawaii becoming a State of the USA and the establishing of the educational center for all Pacific cultures.

Obviously, after the facing-carrier-armature-protective layers were applied to the surface of the mosaic, then we couldn’t see the composition to guide the removal process. So, I made a map of the mural and transferred it to the front of these layers to guide us.

This is the completed map showing the planned removal. But, it turned out that we were able to remove the mosaic in much larger pieces thereby resulting in 75% fewer cuts. With this map, every piece is documented and can be put back together like a puzzle. This is, actually, the way the mosaic mural was made (then shipped) to the installation site originally… in 1 ft sq. pieces and then put together like a puzzle.

Kory Ates and Mike Terry from Okland Construction assisted me in the removal process. In all, I think we lifted about 4,000 lbs of mosaic and cement off the wall!

Each section of the mosaic mural is numbered and inventoried, then stored according to its position on the wall for easy retrieval. Each pallet has the entire mural map and also paperwork with more precise details. We now await the plans from admin and architects to plan out the restoration process.

The restoration process will include removing the 1″-2″ cement layer from the back of the mosaic, consolidating any loose pieces/tesserae, applying new grout from the back, adhering the mosaic to a new support or backing, removing and cleaning the facing-carrier-armature-protective layers which were applied to the surface of the mosaic, and then any fine tuning for appearance sake.

Unknown Michael Jackson Mural Painted 1992 Lives As Digital NFTs

Artist Kent Twitchell With His Monumental Mural Pulled from Storage and Restored

Kent Twitchell, internationally famous artist for painting monumental sized murals of “American Cultural Heros” feels his greatest masterpiece is a result of the unforgettable creative effort he had when The King of Pop, The Most Famous Man in the World, Michael Jackson posed for Twitchell to create the 100 ft high painted monumental mural, intended to add legitimacy to the pop star’s legacy between 1990 and 1992. This is the only “monument” to represent himself that Michael Jackson ever posed for.

This high energy project of creating the exciting 12 story tall project of MJ by KT was painted in acrylic on a polyester fabric, intended to be adhered to the outside of a building. At one point, Michael Jackson’s entertainer-genius-creative-mind wanted to make it an interactive mural on the side of a building with lighting affects, smoke machines and lasers. But that idea was quashed by the city of Hollywood in 1992.

As he promised to The King of Pop, artist Kent Twitchell, committed to MJ that he would put the time and energy into making his painted creation so that this artwork would be the artist’s lifetime masterpiece… but it remained an uninstalled masterpiece.

Instead of becoming a famous destination of public art of perhaps the most beloved music genius of  several generations, worthy of making any building noteworthy on an international level, it has languished forgotten in storage rolled up on small tubes for more than the last 30 years. After Michael’s death in 2009, the project was abandoned by the family, estate, corporations and legal representation of the defunct musician.

During Covid in 2022, the effort got underway to photograph in high resolution each of the 250 panels (which were never mounted to a wall on a building) that make up the 100 ft x 60 ft mural. Once the images were captured on special high resolution photographic equipment, the individual images were “stitched” together pixel by pixel to make the 250 panels into 1 unified high res digital image that could be uploaded and “minted” or “mined” into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Kent Twitchell, the brilliant renown artist of the artwork, said, “Michael would have loved this new technology. He was all about new technology and what it could do for his art. He would have been crazy excited about the idea of this masterpiece which would have been “stuck” on the side of a building for people to come visit, but instead now, this artwork is going to travel the world and reach out to fans internationally. Nothing could be better for establishing Michael’s image, reputation and legacy. He would have loved it!”

The final and complete “state of being of this artwork,” compatible with what the tech-loving cultural icon would have loved, is the exquisitely detailed high resolution digital image prepared for world-wide distribution as PixelNFTs, to be accompanied by exciting “ancillary benefits,” a term MJ, the businessman, used to like to think about.

“We are so lucky to have Scott Haskins and FACL in charge of taking care of and seeing to the potential of this incredible masterpiece. No body could open the doors and see the future like him,” Twitchell added and has posted on social media.

Now here is the interesting “rub.” After years of dragging around selected pieces of the mural by the artist for temporary exhibitions as he tried to promote the mural and his well intentioned helpers (before Scott Haskins) and possibly because Twitchell moved a couple of times, it turned out that parts or panels of the mural were lost in addition to parts of the mural that were not as finished as Kent wanted them to be. So, after the digitization process captured every brush stroke and pixel, we were able to see what, exactly was missing without having to layout the mural on a football field to meet a look. It was, then, possible on the computer to complete the mural digitally before it was made ready for NFTs.

In other words, the concept and the completion of the Michael Jackson Monument was first accomplished digitally as NFT artwork before it was a complete painting in the physical world. It was, in reality, first a virtual, digital, NFT work of art, then later it became a completed work of art in the real world.
