Most of the time he really isn't fully mentally there.

He also has a great aunt named Alice who lives with her best friend Margaret, they have two cats named Scruffy and Annie.

It was supposed to be a quick thing, when I started writing it. Instead, my fic for the Harringrove Corner Pride Event grew and grew until it became the 38k-word story it is now.

My prompt was "Find me in the future" and what I offer you today is a story about time travel, paradoxes, pining, the fear of screwing up, and also monsters, titled

Pairing: Harringrove (but the last chapter is all Munver because I am a self-indulgent fool!)

Summary: It's the summer of 1981 and one of Billy's friend bets that Billy won't have the guts to go and spend five minutes talking with the naked weirdo that's hiding under the pier.
Billy's 14 and he has no idea of what consequences accepting that bet will have.

It starts like this:

"There's a weirdo under the pier."

From where he's propped against the wooden parapet, Billy stops letting his gaze float over the people walking by them on the pier and turns to look at Stab. The rest of their group does the same, all keeping their eyes politely away from Stab's busted lip and swollen cheek even as they look at him.

"As if the whole beachfront isn't full of weirdos every day," Jimmy Z. says in a dismissive huff.

Pudge and Lily nod, and she's already back to drawing little black toothy monsters on the green fabric of her shoes. There's a hole in the sole of her right shoe. She said her mom's waiting for her next weekly pay check to buy her a new pair. They've been waiting for the right pay check for two month.

Billy looks away and stomps down the jealous resentment over the fact that at least her mom seems to be the kind of parent that will never stop trying. Unlike his, or some of the parents of the others in their group.

"A different kind of weirdo," he hears Stab insist.

Billy does his best not to snicker when Jimmy F. eyes Stab with all the skepticism a five-foot-nothing kid can muster. Which is a lot, if your name is Jimmy Fernandez.

"Define different," Jimmy F. says.

"I think this one ran from an asylum or something like that."

"Like Roaming Maggie," Jimmy F. is quick to supply.

"No, different! This one doesn't have shit."

"So, like the poncho guy."

"No. He's naked."

"So, like Perv Guy last summer," Lily intervenes without even looking up, and Jimmy F. nods.

"No-ooooh!" Stab is getting closer to the end of his patience. "This one is not approaching anyone."

"Ok, so, like the high lady with the tattoos and the−"

"No, he's not talking to the sirens−"

"Kraken," Pudge says while exhaling a plume of smoke. "The lady with the orange bush said her talking to the kraken was what kept it from eating the pier."

Billy pulls a cig from his own pack as he tunes the diatribe out. There's a good chance they're gonna go on for hours. They've done it before. It's the first weekend of summer break and they still have fuck all to do: inane chatter is perfect for them to waste time but not money.

He likes when it's like this. When they can just sit around, or swim, or talk about shit that doesn't really matter. He likes when they can forget life is shit, parents are a mess, school's a drag, and the future is on fire. Nothing better than to let his friends' words wash over him and make the world seem a little less fucked.

He has just finished his cigarette, making sure to smoke every last bit of it, when he registers what Stab's saying:

"I bet Billy wouldn't."

"I wouldn't what?"

"Find the balls to go and talk to the weirdo under the pier."

I just read Lust for Life... what inspired Jason and Eddie's relationship? They're so cute I'm surprised I haven't seen them as a couple in fics more

I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers anyways, but she started posting Munver memes and then wrote some frankly incredible fics for them and I was hooked.

From there, I knew I didn’t want Jason to be all sanitized to make him fit into the fic, so he got a kind of snarky, biting, bitchy attitude and I needed Eddie to be a counterbalance to that, so that’s how we got the goofy, kind of chaotic character that we ended up with in LFL.

Someone once explained Munver’s relationship dynamic as: Looks Like a Black Cat but is Actually a Golden Retriever Paired with a Black Cat that Looks Like a Golden Retriever… basically sums up my approach to their characterization in LFL 😂

We deserve WAY more fic/art with that pairing!

“That so?” Steve prompts slowly, when Hargrove doesn’t elaborate. He probably shouldn’t play into Hargrove’s palm, knows he doesn’t say anything kind for free and hardly ever charges anything, but, well.

He left his cigarettes back at the reserve trench, he supposes this is the next best thing.

“That’s so.” Hargrove repeats him, eyes still on the shoreline. “You need to be sturdy in water, otherwise it’ll pull you under. You never plant your feet, you’d be swept away.”

this was both the first thing i ever wrote for this beast, and the part i'm probably proudest of lol. it actually wasn't going to be in the Official Posted fic, but i loved it enough to include it in this. i feel like it's my solidification of both characters in a way that's satisfying to include (as a writer at least lmao) in a first chapter

only have five fics posted, so i'll give my top three: Operation Birthday, Love Me Two Times, and She Was Straight From Hell, But You Could Never Tell.

5) do you respond to comments? why or why not?

i try to respond to every single comment, even when it's a reblog from a reader with feedback in just the tags, because i appreciate that someone took the time and effort out of their day to not only read my work but to also then tell me they liked what i poured my energy and heart into. <333 i appreciate every single one.

6) what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hasn't been written yet, but it'll be for the conclusion to the first part of Love Me Two Times.

most of my fics have happy endings. 😜

i like to think i'm good with descriptions, setting scenes, and getting readers immersed in the visuals of a story.

Jason had not been able to sleep at all for the last week. His doctor had lowered the dosage of his sleeping medication cause it was "what was best in the long run". His therapist probably brought it up first, since he was finally getting better. His doctor didn't tell him a lot, but that since he was mostly stable physically (yeah right) and since the majority of his medication was addictive they would have to lower his dosages. Sure, being able to sleep in his sterile environment truly was addictive. Why the hell was it just his dosage of sleeping meds, why not any of the other shit they force fed him everyday?

Jason never had any sort of fear of hospitals until his dosage got lowered. But after the sun went down his little room became terrifying. There was beeping and it felt like he could smell the death on the next floor. The beeping was almost the worst, with the heart monitors speeding up from both of the boys Jason's anxiety would shoot through the roof, which of course didn't help.

Even though the beeping and the smells did influence his newfound fear, that wasn't all of it. No, the worst was the screams, specifically Eddie's screams. It would've been kinda fine if it was just only screams, but he talked, yelled, begged for whatever was happening to him to stop. Jason had a lot of days where he couldn't go to physical therapy because of the pain that managed to shoot through where he was ripped in half, but he could never imagine having to live through that every night.

Jason soon realized that this had to stop somehow. Eddie's patience each day was rapidly growing thin and Jason had to get some sort of sleep. It was agonizing to listen to each night, there were moments where he was almost brought to tears. So that night, before Eddie went to bed, he made some kind of plan. He was gonna try to wake up Eddie (gently) from one of his nightmares. It's what friends dudes do, right?

The first night failed, and so did the second and third. The problem was that his wheelchair was on the other side of his bed where the chairs for visitors were. Because of this he ended up trying to pull himself over to Eddie's bed and wore himself out. So the first three nights ended with him exhausted on the floor.

The next two nights after that his doctor raised his dosage a little more, just enough to get him a sleep, but not enough to keep him asleep. So the next night Jason got about an hour of sleep before Eddie's nightmare started. He pulled himself up to the best of his ability and situated himself on the edge of his bed, aiming for his wheelchair. When he finally worked up the courage (mainly from Eddie's quiet, sob-like sleep begging) he went for his wheelchair. But soon he realized that he was not gonna get in his wheelchair, falling onto the floor and taking his chair with him with a loud yell and crash.

Jason could practically hear Eddie bolt up from the noise. He could only imagine him looking around worriedly. He heard the click of the button that summons a nurse and then Eddie getting out of his bed. As he looked around from the floor dazed he finally noticed that Eddie was towering over him.

He went to help him up, "What the fuck man? Why have you been like this recently?" He grabbed his hand and shoulder, "You can't keep doing this. I don't know if this is some way of coping or if you're trying to get somewhere but I think you have some shit you need to talk to someone about. You're injuring yourself almost ever night, you have a therapist, utilize her for fucks sake." He sounded exasperated, why would Eddie even care about what he's doing? Or trying to do.

"You wouldn't get it," Jason mumbled.

Eddie quickly cut him off, "I think I do get it, you're not the only person that's been through hell and back! Everyone we know gets it, you just won't let anyone in! You're stubborn, you-"

The nurse interrupted his ranting, telling him to get back to bed and helping Jason back to bed.

His doctor raised his dosage back up the next day.

Okay, this is going land in the VERY niche overlap of people who ship stonathan, people who ship munver, and also people who've seen Moulin Rouge on Broadway, but fuck it we ball.

A while back I had a stonathan Moulin Rouge fusion au concept, more based on the Broadway musical than the Baz Luhrmann movie (I love all Moulin Rouge Broadways and non-Broadways equally) that would kind of cast Jonathan as Christian, and Steve as (kind of) Satine.

Strangely, this is the second moulin rouge fusion i have--

But anyway, if I ever get to writing it, it would have Jason and Eddie as Santiago and Nini. They have this fun sort of "i love you" "who doesn't, pig" relationship (that's an actual interaction they have, followed immediately by furiously making out. It's a very fun show).

Basically, they have tension off the charts and they know it, also they kick off one of the best songs of the show (Backstage Romance, personally Chandelier is my fave because I love it when my favorite characters suffer).

And also, Jason is 1000% a theater kid, have you fucking SEEN the dramatics he pulls off??

But yeah anyway this post has no point besides me talking about my favorite show and my favorite st ships because why not. Munver and stonathan shippers who are also broadway Moulin Rouge fans sound off. If you exist.

what do you think of munver (eddie/jason)?

I am not a munver shipper personally.

Jason gives me the heebie jeebies big time, and so I cannot ship him with anyone actually. He is the opposite of attractive to me (despite Mason Dye being a cutie pie).

That being said, I've got no beef. I ship and let ship, and I've got moots who are into it, and i hope they're having fun (they sure seem to be!) 💜
