Ah yes, having to block 20 prn link bots anytime I open this app; cuz they can't be bothered to properly implement a follow request/approval system without basically shadowbanning yourself is such a joy. That purge of adult content, that help fiking but the foundation of the place, sure did its job yep yep.

Behind the scenes:

RP is a social activity for me, so I really like it when it feels social; when my mutuals make OOC posts and replies at least on occasion, when there’s occasional chatting going on in the tags of a thread, when there’s mutual commentary on how we feel about various detail posts or drabbles or ask answers, when the exchange of asks is at least vaguely reciprocal, etc. 

It’s definitely not ever an expectation — certainly on my own end I don’t have enough energy (or cogent thoughts to share) to keep it up 24/7 — but when that kind of interaction does happen, it always makes me smile. :) 

I also really love seeing other people’s art! Anything from little notebook scribbles to shitposts to fully rendered scenes, any kind of art. I just love seeing art on the dash and getting to see people sharing what they’ve worked on and their visions of their characters. <3

Threads:

I’m always a sucker for hurt/comfort. I don’t know as I’d say it always lifts my mood, but I doubt I’ll ever get tired of it and it’s a pretty solid standby in my mental library of possible plot ideas, hah.

I also really love threads that include physical affection! That one definitely is a mood lifter. :D Though… it does mean that my character roster is mildly unfortunate. 😂 In total, between here and the @justassorted sideblog, I have:

Phosa & Linast — Not technically touch-averse, they actually really appreciate certain kinds of contact, but between cleithrophobia and trauma the approach has to be very specific.

Diamond — Extremely physically affectionate by nature, but also very careful about boundaries. He’s unlikely to initiate until a relationship is developed enough that those boundaries have been clearly established. (Or for the purposes of comforting children or something, hah.)

Clemcy — Evil. Also, paranoid and twitchy about affectionate touch initiated by others.

Ithadel — Badly touch starved, but has so many social hangups and so much self-censure wrapped up in it that anyone paying any attention to his reactions is likely to mistakenly conclude that he’s touch averse. :’D

Skitter — Well and truly touch averse via both neurodivergence and trauma.

Mirian — No real hangups around physical affection, but her general mode of expression is, like, shoulder bumps and back slaps and such. Anything else tends to give her pause at first for feeling too emotionally intimate.

Oscar — …literally my only main-ish muse who is both casual and expressive with touch, but I’ve also only just begun writing threads with him 😂

if so have you ever crashed: Two people have bumped into me before when I wasn’t moving but it wasn’t anything serious. I just messed up my “no incidents ever” streak by kinda scraping against a girl’s car when I was trying to park. The girl can’t park (she wasn’t parked too egregiously that day, but still closer than she should have been and the way she’s parked on other days...woof).

What was the last book you read?: A Venom Dark and Sweet! I’m still trying to finish it but I’ve accepted none of my tbr list is getting touched this summer, unfortunately

What was the last movie you saw?: Mmmmmm... Lilo & Stitch I think

What’s the worst injury you’ve ever had?: Despite my moderate clumsiness, I’ve never had a particularly bad injury! A burn from an oven once on my arm and once when  my mom got my ear with a hot comb when I was little 🥴 But those were just moderate injuries to me.

Do you have any obsessions right now?: Ohhh yeahhh baby, right now, mentally, I’m in Hyrule. Barely missing chasm edges and diving straight into the ground, screaming in terror every time I hear the screech of those stupid scary hands and see the sky turn red, wondering aloud why they made the goat/rabbit man hot and if the developers knew what they were unleashing, etc.

Also my graduation photos, I really like how most of them turned out and I think I’d done my makeup pretty well those days, considering I almost never wear it haha.

I am both terrified and on the edge of my seat for the next episode because one one hand, it's literally titles Wolfwood. They titled an episode right after showing Nick's backstory and that's terrifying for those of us who know the OG. On the other hand next ep is bound to be absolutely ama,ing and if it's what I think it is, with the BDN gang and the steamer about to be destroyed, I REALLY can't wait because literally the only thing about the OG I didn't like was that they never once showcased the fact Vash has FUCKING WINGS AND THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED PLZ LET THEM SHOW HIS WINGS IN STAMPEDE!!! Oh and also more Wolfwood centric shit too

Shame we didn't see wings, but what we DID see was pretty cool!

I really am loving where the show is going, how even OG fans don't know exactly what's going to happen, and I'm curious to see where some changes go; like Legato being so fixated on WOLFWOOD rather than VASH for now, or them all learning about what Vash is so soon, or what's gonna happen with Livio!

MOST ACTIVE MUSE(S)?: Diamond for the most part; he comes naturally.

EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS?: I started roleplaying on online forums ~15 years ago, but I started doing DnD with my parents and pass-a-word-document-back-and-forth style rp with some IRL friends ~18 years ago.

BEST EXPERIENCE?: I don't really tend to think in terms of Grand Moments! I think that overall I've had a pretty good experience just, In General with rp. Exceptions have happened, but they've been mild and manageable.

RP PET PEEVES?: Lack of (positive) ooc communication is the main one that comes to mind. I want this to feel like something we're doing collaboratively, with good will and for the sake of having fun. I do also get disheartened if the initiation of interactions (e.g. ask sending, thread notions) isn't at least sometimes mutual, but that’s like... I don’t expect balance or anything; folk have varying levels of energy and anxiety and idea flow, and that’s natural! I just feel more comfortable with at least the occasional indication of reciprocal interest.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: Angst and fluff are both good! I'd theoretically be open to smut on Discord with the right characters & situation, but I've never actually written it.

PLOTS OR MEMES?: Definitely plots; I am so, so bad at improv, so it's kind of hard for me to respond to ic-memes a lot of the time. ^_^; That said, even when they're a challenge for me I do still like memes! They're a nice way to get new ideas flowing, and I like sending them.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: Long and medium are best. Kind of like with plotting vs. memes, I do best when I have context to build from, and single-paragraph or shorter can start to be more difficult for me to work with.

TIME TO WRITE?: Fffff. Whenever I 1) have time, and 2) can convince my brain to cooperate. It's intermittent, sadly.

Otherwise, Diamond's been hanging out rent free in my head since I was literally 4, so. I think there's absolutely overlap there and that it's also just anchored too deep down for me to untangle or notice specifics. xD

My other muses do often take at least one or two ideas, feelings, or questions of mine and extrapolate those to extremes; see where they'd go if they were big enough and internalized enough to be personality-defining. Clemcy and the fear of death, the arrogant know-it-all tendencies. Ithadel and the deep fear of overstepping boundaries, the self-knowledge of being a wet blanket in social situations. Oscar and the genuine belief that the whole point of it all is for us to care for one another and the world itself.

Phosa and Linast are question-based; I think a lot of their character struggles have grown out of my musings on the sometimes-immense discrepancies between who one is in raw instinct vs. who one is when acting purposefully vs. who one wants to be, and the further difference between true internal desire 'want' vs. wistful thinking 'want'.
