We had a lovely time at @loseley_park Christmas fair today. It was so good to get out and about as we have been pretty much stuck at home this week due to William being unwell! It also gave me a chance to wear my fab @joules wellies and matching coat! I have said it before but for me, fashion and emotion are directly linked… The last 6 weeks have not been easy what with a 1 year old who decided that he no longer wanted to sleep…EVER! A huge water leak in a property I let out, sorting paperwork for the sale and purchase for our move and an unexpected medical procedure…oh and trying to run a business! It is fair to say that my hair, make up & clothes we so far down the list of my priorities! I genuinely felt like crap and I was literally just doing what I had to do just to function let alone actually doing anything productive with my days. I think I pretty much lived in the same 3 pairs of jeans that were on rotation as well as a similar number of tops, I did not have the brain power to even think about what to wear! Yesterday was a turning point though as I got good news re medical results, my son actually slept through, the damage on my apartment has been repaired and everything seems to be going ok with the move! I also have three fab women that I am styling/going to be styling! @_emilypink, @mrs_heaven86 & @louiseyrollins My husband told me to go out and have some me time so I went to @velvetrooms4hair where the newly qualified Grace did my hair for me (get booking in with her as it is currently 25% off and she was fab!) We also went out for dinner with friends so, I got myself a large glass of wine and had a fab ‘getting ready session’. It is fair to say it has done me the world of good! For the first time in weeks I felt like myself and I was super excited to be wearing my @zara puff sleeve faux leather blouse and my @primark @staceysolomon faux leather pleated skirt! *COAT EDIT* - THE TRENCH The trench coat was designed to protect soldiers in WW1 from wind and rain. They were not the warmest coats, however, they were supplied in a large size so that warmer coats and layers could be worn underneath them. In past wars, soldiers wore greatcoats. These were long overcoats of serge; a thick fabric made from wool. They were very heavy, long and cumbersome, despite being warm (when dry that is!) In the trenches, the long greatcoats proved to be somewhat of a problem. In short; the Trench coat was a very useful garment and much more than just a coat. Here are just a few special characteristics of the trench coat. * The shoulder straps were added to the coat in World War I so that soldiers could attach items. They would also provide padding against the butt of a shotgun * D rings were added for the purpose of holding equipment such as map cases and swords * Ventilation flaps were added for expelling any unpleasant odours, as well as helping keep the coats breathable * The length of the trench coat were made to be short enough so that they wouldn’t trail too much in the mud and slightly flared at the waist, to allow maximum movement * The collar buttons at the neck were designed so that gas masks could be tucked tightly in to make them as efficient as possible * The cuff straps allowed binoculars to be secured when in use. What an afternoon I’ve had! First catching up with the gorgeous @olgapower13 for champagne afternoon tea at Dolly’s at @theofficialselfridges. Today has been a weird combination for me! I mean who would have ever thought that Louis Vuitton would make a box to transport flowers! All for a snip at £4300!!!! • The water-resistant metallic tray and Vuittonite lining mean that flowers, water, or soil can be put in the tray without damaging it.
