I have so much respect for @mollymaehague . January is always a weird time of year for shopping. The stores are half sale rails and the other half is new season! It is hard to know where it is best to spend your money. My advice would always be to shop the sales first. This is because new season pieces will be in stores for the next month or two and the sales are a great time to pick up some staple wardrobe items. I took a look in @riverisland today and saw some great sale bargains. This coat, top and trousers were my top picks. A classic camel coat will compliment any outfit and this one in particular has a bit of an edge to it with the faux leather sleeves and lapel. The Bardot jumper is a great way to add a touch of glamour during the Winter months but I would go for a neutral colour. Finally the peg trousers can be dressed up or down and are just great trousers to have in your wardrobe! All in all you would save £51 on this outfit which is a fairly good saving! I have suggested pairing the outfit with @pumawomen white trainers which will give it the perfect day look (add heels for nighttime glamour). Also this @andotherstories headband ties all the colours in nicely and will help to keep you warm in the colder months! I have said it before but for me, fashion and emotion are directly linked… The last 6 weeks have not been easy what with a 1 year old who decided that he no longer wanted to sleep…EVER! A huge water leak in a property I let out, sorting paperwork for the sale and purchase for our move and an unexpected medical procedure…oh and trying to run a business! It is fair to say that my hair, make up & clothes we so far down the list of my priorities! I genuinely felt like crap and I was literally just doing what I had to do just to function let alone actually doing anything productive with my days. I think I pretty much lived in the same 3 pairs of jeans that were on rotation as well as a similar number of tops, I did not have the brain power to even think about what to wear! Yesterday was a turning point though as I got good news re medical results, my son actually slept through, the damage on my apartment has been repaired and everything seems to be going ok with the move! I also have three fab women that I am styling/going to be styling! @_emilypink, @mrs_heaven86 & @louiseyrollins My husband told me to go out and have some me time so I went to @velvetrooms4hair where the newly qualified Grace did my hair for me (get booking in with her as it is currently 25% off and she was fab!) We also went out for dinner with friends so, I got myself a large glass of wine and had a fab ‘getting ready session’. It is fair to say it has done me the world of good! For the first time in weeks I felt like myself and I was super excited to be wearing my @zara puff sleeve faux leather blouse and my @primark @staceysolomon faux leather pleated skirt! Today I am starting my COAT EDIT! Seeing as it feels we are well and truly in Winter I want to explore some of the well known coat styles and show you some of my favourites pieces in the stores now. The first style is the PARKA. The Parka was fist produced for the RAF in 1953 by a returning RAF solider from WW2. His name was Alfie Lever. The Parkas were largely used in the Korean War due to the extreme low temperatures the soldiers were forced to fight and live in. However, the Parka first appeared many years before around Russia and the Artic regions. Infect, the word Parka actually means ‘Animal Skin’. The animal in question was a seal. Their skin provided the perfect warmth and waterproof shielding. Nowadays the Parka is recognised as a waterproof coat which is usually straight cut with a slightly longer back. More often then not it will come with a faux fur collar although you can find many different interpretations of a Parka! Today has been a weird combination for me! Moments of total relaxation thanks to Emma at @collectionshair and then moments of total stress whilst waiting in the consultants waiting room so what better way to reflect this ‘combination’ then with this.... • The @louisvuitton Malle Fleurs Flower Box! I mean who would have ever thought that Louis Vuitton would make a box to transport flowers! All for a snip at £4300!!!! • The water-resistant metallic tray and Vuittonite lining mean that flowers, water, or soil can be put in the tray without damaging it.
