The end of the school year was approaching, and camping was one of the school’s yearly traditions. Camping involved students ‘living’ with assigned partners for a whole week. Attendance was mandatory, which meant that everybody had to go.

Class 1-A had an uneven number of students, which meant that one group had to consist of three students. Initially, [Name] was assigned with Tsuyu but she was unable to attend due to sudden health issues, resulting in [Name] having to join another group.

Coincidentally, Bakugou’s partner Tokoyami had also fallen sick. Although it was definitely weird having a girl join a boys to live with, she was assigned to be Bakugou’s partner.

he had never slept in the same room with somebody of the opposite gender (except his mom)

he blatantly even begged to switch partners to aizawa when [name] was right next to him

when they both arrived to the room the two would be staying in, he established rules and an imaginary border separating the room in half

he was always quiet and never had anybody over

he kept his stuff organized and was pretty clean and neat

he’d either be outside training his quirk, hanging out with kirishima or sleeping

he sometimes woke up at around 2:00 am because he sensed [name] awake, but he still acted as if he was sleeping (he’d be lying if he said he didn’t care)

when [name] would be walking back to the room after whatever activity, he would always silently walk a few meters behind her

deciding to have some fun since it was friday, you and your friends had decided to go to the amusement park

for some reason, they all had bailed on you last minute

and since you didn’t have much to do, you decided to still go but by yourself

you had a lot of fun while still being alone

as a challenge to yourself, you decided to ride a HUGE rollercoaster

you hurried to the line and waited for a LOOOng time

when it was your group’s turn, you noticed that the seats were arranged for two people D:

“anyone here alone? there's one seat left!" an employee yelled

“me!!” you exclaimed

after saying that you regretted it right away

your seat was next to a guy with crazy blonde hair

you couldn’t exactly see his face because he was looking the other way

he had his hands jammed into his pocket

you carefully sat down, trying your best not to get him mad or something

it seemed like he didn’t care or already knew that some stranger was going to sit next to him cus he didn’t even turn around to greet you

the guy glared at you and let out a “tch”

when the rollercoaster started moving, for some reason you felt scared

as the ride sped up you started screaming

naturally, you got closer to the guy and unknowingly clutched on his arm

you turned immediately removed your hand, turned around and saw the SAME GUY OMG

you rode the bus that would take you back home

because you were tired from playing around for more than 3 hours, you fell asleep during the ride

when you woke up, you were no longer in the bus, but on a guy’s back

Shouto wanted you to talk about it, he didn’t want you to bottle up your feelings. He knew the best about what keeping everything inside did to one, and you were the last person he’d ever want that to happen to.

Carefully, he approached your room and softly knocked on the door. After hearing no response, he proceeded to walk in after saying, “I’m coming in,”.

Shouto found you crying on your bed. Tears were bursting out your eyes, spilling down to your face. You were exhausted from crying, yet you couldn’t stop. All that crying made you numb, numb enough to not notice that Shouto was next to you— already hugging you.

“S-Shouto,” you managed to speak.

“It’s okay. I’m here,” he softly whispered against your hair.

The tears that you were trying to hold back in so hard started pouring uncontrollably. You sobbed onto his chest while clutching onto his shirt that smelled so familiar. His left hand was stroking your hair while the other embraced you. As you cried, you could hear Shouto’s soft voice quietly shushing you as he tried to calm you down. What seemed like minutes flew by quickly, and it had already been 30 minutes.

“Do you want to talk about it?” he softly asked, looking at you.

“Maybe later,” your voice trembled.

He nodded and pulled you into another hug.

“(Name)… Just know that I’m always here if you need someone to talk to,” he whispered, gently stroking your head.

“Thank you Shouto, that means a lot,” you smiled softly.

“I know I might not be good with advice, but please talk to me if you ever need anything,”

A smile formed on your lips and you gave him a little nod. Shouto was usually not like this, and you appreciated how much he was willing to do just for you.

His words hit you like a thunderstorm. You thought that you were finally done with crying, but you were proven wrong. Tears rolled down your cheeks as you had sudden flashbacks. Shouto immediately hugged you tighter and stroked your back.

“I know how much she meant to you and I miss her too. It’s both unfair and saddening that your grandma is no longer here, but it’s part of life. I’m sure your grandma wouldn’t have wanted you to be sad, but instead live your life to the fullest,” he mumbled.

“She means so much to me, I just can’t believe she’s gone,” you closed your eyes.

“We’ll go through this together. I know this may hurt, but you’ll be fine in the end, I promise,” he said while wiping away your tears with his thumb.

Shouto’s words were reassuring, but the hug was what was helping you the most. He was treating you the way he would’ve wanted to when he was younger– but it was merely a wish. Just seeing you cry reminded him of his mother and the mental and physical damage he had to go through when he was younger. He was never treated the way he was treating you, and he’d never treat anybody like this except for you. You meant the world to Shouto and the last thing he’d ever want was for you to be sad.
