Sam winced at the dead weight of several kilobytes of Program landing on top of him. He lay back for a moment, winded, then tried to shift Eve off him. She lay unresponsive, circuits dim. Why-

He took a shaky breath. An energy surge at the Beacon, him in the critical part of transport. Eve, by far faster than Tron if she needed to be, grabbing his disc from the air and pushing him out of the bolt of raw power's path. The Beacon malfunctioning despite the emergency stop protocols.

Darkness. Falling. Digitizing and re-rezzing over and over again.

And then here. A Grid on fire.

Gold circuits flashed in his vision, and he flicked on that camouflage subroutine Tron had bullied him into adding to his Gridsuit. That was Clu. And Flynn, battling each other, heedless of the destruction they were causing.

But that was impossible. Clu was with Alan, slowly unlearning a runtime's worth of poor decisions made with the best of intentions, and Flynn - his dad - was put in an isolated Grid, unable to be brought back analogue and drifting in and out of fantasy. Thinking of it as his dad being in a kind of nursing home helped, but not much.

Some rubble fell way too close, and Sam put the impossibility of the situation out of his mind. Survive first, then worry about what was going on and how to get home.

He scrambled up, hoisting Eve onto his back - thankful Programs tended to be lighter than humans - and joined the crowd fleeing the area. He ducked into some kind of secure facility, still standing and clearly heavily fortified, but was still close enough to hear Flynn yell his name and how Clu had murdered his son. Sam shuddered, then nearly dropped Eve in horror as he saw the tell-tale white glow of attempted reintegration.

If it succeeded...

This facility was not going to survive, and neither would anyone in it.

Screw the whole... apparent war over who was right or wrong, and any potential consequences, he was getting everyone out now.

It's still crazy to consider the contrast in the prison between Sam in fully enchanted netherite armor and Dream who literally had nothing. Sam with his multiple enchanted netherite weapons which he had no problem pointing at Dream, while Dream had nowhere to run and no way to defend himself. How Sam was able to call in two guards to help him, each with enchanted netherite armor, and Dream having nobody come for him when he screamed desperately for help. Dream spent his days cowering, starving, being tortured, and hurting himself in lava, getting so low on health that Sam accidentally killed him in two hits with his fist. The fact that Sam decided he needed to take a strength potion on top of all of that to make sure Dream is a "one-shot" is just so insane.

I’ve been updating my old roleplay listing occasionally, but it’s a bit all over the place and I posted it a few of years ago by now. So although it’s semi up to date, I figured it was due for a redo! I’m 18f, looking for partners 16+. If you are under 18, I’d appreciate the heads up so we steer clear of certain topics, but other than that I do not mind if you are a bit younger than me.

These are fandoms the I’m currently interested in roleplaying from, and my preferred muses to write;

Lockwood and Co. -> Lucy Carlyle or Anthony Lockwood, though I may possibly be able to write George Karim in addition to either of the first two. This would be based off a mix of the show and the books, as I am reading through the books now and have watched the series multiple times haha pls I love my babies pls pls I need to write them <3

The Promised Neverland -> Emma or Ray preferably, though I could write Norman. Again I wouldn’t mind writing a couple of them, but I’m definitely more comfy writing Emma or Ray! I’m interested on post canon stuff, but am happy to do anything like more details/scenarios on their survival after the initial escape, etc.

Miraculous -> Okay I’m not caught up at ALL with miraculous, but I will absolutely always love some lukanette, they are my babiesssss. I will happily write as either luka or marinette! I also wouldn't mind some of marichat/adrienette/ladynoir, I would write for marinette :)

Stardew Valley -> I'm open to OCs for this, but would still love to do some canon character stuff as well! I feel most comfy playing Haley, Abigail, and Sebastian. Maybe Emily or Sam, I love them but know less about them. I can also do a farmer if you'd want to play a canon/oc against that.

I often match my partner’s length but prefer at least a few paragraphs, however I do normally to aim for around/over the discord word limit when I can! If I’m in the zone, then possibly over the limit a couple of times. This can obviously fluctuate based on what’s currently happening in the roleplay, or motivation levels irl, but I am not fussed if length varies; as long as its at least a couples paragraphs and is enough information/detail to work with! We’re all human, and motivation sucks ass— especially for writing.

I do strongly prefer CCxCC!! If we are playing canon characters and there are OCs involved, I’d rather them not be the focal point of the roleplay—or at least not at first. However, I would be ok doing an OCxOC! If we do OCxOC it can be fandom/fandomless. I’m down to discuss it. Just please don't be super overpowered, cliche, etc. AUs for anything are also very much a yes!

I love love talking out of character, sharing random things from our day or ranting about the fandom/characters! I have ADHD and do tend to hyperfixate on certain characters/shows very intensely haha. My current hyperfixations will be listed in my bio, but that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to rp other fandoms listed in this post! So don’t be afraid to ask.

I will pretty much only roleplay on discord, though if you insist, I could probably attempt doing it on here again, my motivation just may take a hit. The only child of a waitress and delivery man, no one expected him to be much of anything. The most he and his parents could hope is that as an adult he could make enough money to help pay the family’s bills. His family struggled a lot with money due to loans with high interest rates, rent, etc. Joining the south korean military at age 18 as a means of supporting his parents/family, he and his family managed to survive paycheck to paycheck… until his father was severely injured in a hit and run accident. At age 28, due to the accident, his father needed frequent hospital visits which racked up a lot of medical debt. To help pay for their ever growing medical debt, he volunteered to join the South Korean army’s experimental corps, a selective branch of the military that was designed to help develop tools and soldiers who are able to keep pace with super powered individuals. The work was dangerous, but the pay was double what he was making as a regular soldier… 

At first, his job was mostly testing weapons, armors and tools for the corps. However, over time, the corps began to experiment with tech less and with people more. Thrust into a testing pool of 7 additional people, he was subjected to multiple injections and experiments, all in an effort to make stronger, faster and smart soldiers (super soldiers). Given the 5th version of the south korean super soldier serum, despite being a newer serum, it proved little better than the earlier version. He and some of the other test subjects experienced violently negative reactions to the serum. Instead of getting faster, stronger and better parts of his body disintegrated into an irreversible dust. Thanks to the super soldier scientists, he lost his jaw and hands. His condition was stabilized by the scientists/doctors but was deemed a failure.

An intern eager to prove their worth took pity on the failure known as “subject 5-8” and gave him a prosthetic jaw and hands. However, in their rush to make the failure useful,they accidentally have him wearable weapon prototypes. The jaw he was given, despite looking more or less like a regular human jaw, wasn’t. Instead it contained sharp, carnivore like teeth. And the hands he were given contained sharp, panther like claws. The intern realized their mistake too little too late. Biting and clawing his way free, Sam left a trail of blood in his wake as he fled the facility. 

During his escape, he killed many high ranking, irreplaceable scientists and soldiers. Because of the loss of so many valuable assets, he was branded a traitor by the South Korean military. Left with no choice but to flee the country to avoid getting arrested or killed, he took the first plane available, which just happened to be to New York. In New York, despite originally laying low and trying to live a more peaceful life, he found himself unable to turn a blind eye to all the injustices being conducted by both the American and South Korean government. He now works as a vigilante, targeting those who experiment on people as well as those who prey on the defenseless.

- Ollie is 26 years old, he’s been working at the ccc for a total of 3 years.

- he was originally made as a minor character for a thsc rp I’m in, but then Sam happened and we started to develop the two more and eventually from there, we got the Ollie we have today!

- Ollie joined the ccc after he was suggested (and heavily pressured) into by his…. Less than good… ex partner.

- he doesn’t have any powers, he’s just kinda a average stick… except for one thing.

- After an event where his ex broke Ollie’s coding slightly, ollie has been having “dreams” of other timelines of himself. These “dreams” often are from the pov of whatever alternate version of him is there and while these “dreams” are harmless (at least physically), sometimes they contain stuff which…. Causes Ollie a LOT of distress.

- Ollie’s favourite food is bagels, he doesn’t really have a specific favourite combination of toppings, but he does tend to have cream cheese bagels more than other types.

- Ollie LOVES music, (heck- he probably would’ve tried to get a career in it, if it wasn’t for the ccc) he mostly listens to video game music and lofi when he’s stressed out.

- oh did I mention Ollie’s ex is actually, Trevor-? I don’t think I did.

- Ollie has two main fears, a fear of deep water (caused by multiple in-counters with a certain water based entity that has tried multiple times to kill him), and a fear of losing his mind (mostly more towards the “becoming feral” side.) caused by working in the ccc for a while and seeing some…. Stuff….

- Ollie has around 6 siblings. Mit baker (oc), Matteus guardsmith and Quentin alabaster as well as two others which are the ocs of a close friend of mine. Unfortunately ollie was put up for adoption as a young kid, (mainly because his parents realised they didn’t have the finances to care for 6 kids.) so he doesn’t know much about his family.

- family wise, he’s closest to his sister Mitzy, they both love video games and have had experiences with bad exs so they understand each other a lot.

- he is currently taken!! His current partner is Samuel C. Adams (a Oc by another close friend) and he’s a goofy boi, Ollie loves his current partner a lot. <3333

- Ollie x Sam’s ship name is catsamwich, because CATwell and SAM-wich, like… like sandwich… and because cat’s do a loaf…. lol-

- his headphones and hoodie are comfort items, he tends to have a habit of playing with his hoodie strings or headphones when nervous. the ccc didn’t originally like him wearing them instead of uniform but they quickly gave up once they realised Ollie was not gonna take them off.

OC-tober Day 14 is Inspiration!

I’m going to drop some templates I used here for Covrin and Mercurio quite some time ago, but also elaborate more on them and other characters under a read more.

I’m going to be honest, I can’t find where this template originated from/who made it, so if you know, please let me know so I can give credit!

Anyway, more information under the cut! All of these are specifically for my Dark Souls OCs since that's been my main focus for quite a while now lol

Covrin - He was actually created for a short multi-person server RP and was developed more in a years-long RP. At the time, I didn't have any DS OCs, but when I thought about what kind of character I wanted to make, my first thought was a Morne knight because I loved Eygon's armor and think the characters from Carim are interesting. But rather than have him be like...the typical Carim asshole, I thought it would be nice to have a character from there who was kind and somewhat naive. Unfortunately things didn't stay that way after the accidental death of his maiden, as he ends up becoming pretty traumatized from the experience. But Cov is still Cov, it just takes him a while to return to himself.

Avalea - Covrin's maiden, she was always supposed to be a "caged bird" type of character, someone whose life essentially belonged to others, never having a say in what happened to her. She does gain awareness of this, and once she and Cov leave Carim, she rebels a little bit, trading her maiden's robes for clothing she prefers, running around and getting dirty, and eventually developing feelings for her knight. Her canon story ends in death, definitely a tragedy rather than a feel-good story.

Mercurio - Started as an NPC merchant-type character in a long-term RP, but was developed into a full character later on. I wanted a character who relied more on magic and charisma than brute strength, plus the merchant archetype is fun, thus Mercurio was born. They were inspired by a mix of characters I really love in other media + a friend's HCs around Oolacile. They have also been a way to explore ideas around gender exploration and experimentation. Merc is my favorite DS OC that I have.

Percival - Another Morne knight because I couldn't help myself lol. He was actually inspired by one of my best friends growing up in multiple ways (specifically some aspects of physical appearance and personality). Outside of that, I thought a lot about how Carim seems to be a very heteronormative place, so I wondered how LGBTQ+ people might be treated there and what their experiences would be, esp in the case of a gay knight who has a lifetime responsibility to a maiden.

Samson - In keeping with the Carim theme, I thought having a pardoner would be fun and that such a character could be an interesting potential love interest for Perci. Would they need to keep things secret? How would they go about it? I actually got really inspired by a lot of queer history and symbolism when making Sam, especially wrt flower language and Polari. Another thing that has inspired me a lot with him is the more religious/political stuff in Carim regarding Velka, the Way of White, Caitha, etc. I thought it would be cool to investigate the idea of a character who exists in a role that essentially becomes obsolete over time.

Cassandra - Percival's maiden, and someone I wanted to sort of be Avalea's opposite. She's abrasive and selfish, and doesn't really fit into the stereotype of a docile maiden. Honestly, I kind of spread traits about myself through my OCs, and she wasn't an exception. She's one of the characters that's been harder for me to develop sometimes because I see my own negative traits in her. However, she's reflective, and she changes over time. She's an archivist, and that part was actually inspired by some of my own work experience lol

Dominic - Since Perci and Sam had a less than ideal experience being queer in Carim, I wanted a character who embodied more of the joy of it. I thought Astora would be a good place for that, and honestly a lot of his traits came from the way I tend to think about Astora in general- sunny and optimistic. I feel like Dom had a pretty good week to himself, so stopping here for him!
