@bogleech nah dude. Tree law will absolutely ruin them and make you filthy rich. From what I've heard illegaly cutting down someone's tree is one of the worst mistakes an asshole can make because nobody ever expects that they'll be fined tens of thousands of dollars because of a tree, so they never bother to cover their asses and depending on the type and age of the tree it can get insanely expensive. If the person who did it is middle class they won't be for much longer. Why bother going to jail when you can damn them to poverty. Revenge is a dish best served by giving the newest beggar in town some change with the smuggest of grins because they were your asshole neighbor who ruined your yard by cutting down your tree or in a less extreme case watching as their retirement fund evaporates and they can't go on vacation for the next five years. Not only entirely legal (unless giving homeless people some change is a crime) but also gives you the chance to savour your victory whenever you see them, their previous quality of life nearly as irrecoverable as your trees. Why kill them when you can ruin them?
