Alrighty, this week I’ve decided to load the poll with less obvious and more obscure picks so that I get to watch something new for a change! As a trade off, the next IIRTB will be picked from some more obvious and popular choices.
Since these movies are less well known than your Emoji Movies or Battlefield Earths, I will give you all brief summaries!
1. One of the biggest animated bombs ever made; they tried to sue Cameron’s Avatar for ripping them off, so you can assume the plot probably has mild similarities.
2. Rom-com buddy cop movie set at an S&M resort. Rosie O’Donnell and Dan Aykroyd are there. Delicious.
3. An incoherent, psychedelic trip of a film that is absolutely despised by literally everyone who made it. Sure to be a good time!
4. A sex comedy film about ugly British potato delivery men trying to get pussy.
5. Adam Sandler’s first ever movie role, and one he refuses to list as part of his filmography. Think about that for a second.
6. Based on the gross out collectible cards, no less an authority than Doug Walker has declared it to be indefensibly awful.
7. I don’t know how to sum this one up. Its an insane foreign vanity project by the looks of it.
8. Ever wanted to see Casablanca except starring Pamela Anderson and based on a comic book? No? That’s because you’re a normal person.
9. It’s A Hard Day’s Night, but with the Spice Girls!
10. Charlize Theron stars in a an adaptation of a hard to adapt MTV animated series. What could possibly go wrong?

Kino Cuts: 1996 Soundtracks
You asked for 1996 posts because then I was your age, so let's start with soundtracks.
The big ones were Trainspotting and Romeo + Juliet.
Trainspotting made hits of Iggy Pop's Lust for Life and Lou Reed's Perfect Day. But on MTV Europe, the most airplay went to the club thumper Born Slippy by Underworld. I wasn't much into it, but I was very taken with another Underworld track, which I'll save for next post.
Romeo + Juliet was pretty huge, but again, I never quite got into its big hits, like The Cardigans' Lovefool and Kym Mazelle's Young Hearts Run Free. My favorite was out of the second volume of the soundtrack, 13-year-old Quindon Tarver's cover of Prince's When Doves Cry.
youtube
Though they weren't as big, Mission: Impossible and Beautiful Girls had pretty good compilations. M:I introduced me to this track by Gavin Friday (produced by Tim Simenon who also produced Michael Hutchence's The Passenger the previous year).
And there was Beautiful Girls, with Graduation Day by Chris Isaak, Beautiful Girl by Pete Droge & the Sinners, and Satchel's Suffering. Not to mention Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline, which was already a perennial local bar anthem.
To wrap things up, we also got the Pamela Anderson starring comic book adaptation Barb Wire, which featured Welcome to Planet Boom from spouse and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
And lastly, RHCP's cover of Love Rollercoaster for Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.

She’s baaaack!
Teen Mom fans were surprised last week when Page Six posted a photo showing Jenelle Evans hanging out with Teen Mom: The Next Chapter cast member Briana DeJesus in Florida. Since no context was given for the photo, fans have been speculating that Jenelle may be returning to the MTV franchise that booted her back in 2019.
Now, The Ashley can reveal that Jenelle is being brought back to the franchise (in “some form”) and, according to The Ashley’s sources, some of the franchise’s cast members are not happy about it.
“Only a few cast members were aware of what was happening until that photo came out,” one behind-the-scenes source tells The Ashley. “Some of the girls are very upset that Jenelle is getting to be on ‘Next Chapter,’ despite everything that’s happened.”
A production source adds that spots on ‘Next Chapter’ are coveted and other girls were being considered. (The production source was quick to add, though, that Jenelle may not be a permanent cast member. The Ashley can only confirm that they are bringing Jenelle back in “some form.”)
“Some of the girls probably saw it coming, though,” another source stated. “They knew when Jenelle dumped David that MTV would come calling. But I think most of them assumed [Jenelle] would be put on Teen Mom Family Reunion and not ‘Next Chapter.’ To have her go right to [‘Next Chapter’] is kind of a slap in the face to some of the other girls.”
While The Ashley is not sure how much (if any) Jenelle has filmed yet, she is being told that Jenelle’s mom Barbara Evans has not yet filmed. Jenelle and Barbara have been estranged for nearly a year, but The Ashley hears that the mother/daughter duo is slowly mending their relationship.
“Jenelle and Barbara are back on speaking terms,” a source said. “Whether or not that will translate into Barb coming back to filming is unknown right now.”

nombre: park lee.
faceclaim: jennie kim.

Infinite list of favourite lyrics: 212/?
George Michael - Freedom! '90 (1990)
"But today the way I play the game
Is not the same, no way;
Think I'm gonna get myself happy.
I think there's something you should know,
I think it's time I told you so,
There's something deep inside of me -
There's someone else I've got to be.
Take back your picture in a frame,
Take back your singing in the rain,
I just hope you understand
Sometimes the clothes do not make the man."
#favourite lyrics#george michael#freedom!#freedom! '90#1990#listen without prejudice vol. 1#known variously as just Freedom! or with the '90 addition to differentiate it from the Wham track by the same title#an absolute anthem from Michael which became one of his signature tracks in live performance (he'd perform it at the 2012 Olympic closing#ceremony‚ among other high profile moments). the third single from Listen Without Prejudice‚ the song is an outlier on that album#there's a lot to take into account contextually here so forgive me if i go off a little. in 1990 George was still (as unlikely as it may#seem in 2022) publicly recognised as a straight pop idol and sex idol for teen girls everywhere. although his homosexuality was well known#in the industry he wouldn't be outed until the end of the decade (against his choice). privately tho here was a gay man dealing with the#fallout of the AIDS epidemic‚ still at its height. he was losing friends and colleagues. the following year he'd meet Anselmo Feleppa and#fall in love; the next year Feleppa would discover he was HIV positive‚ and the year after that he would die. these were dark‚ awful times#and gay culture was reflecting that. after the pop disco triumph of 1987's Faith‚ Listen was a sombre reckoning with modern life‚ with the#state of George's career‚ with his conflict over his personal life and his fears and guilt around AIDS and the rock star life he'd been#living. the album is a stripped down largely acoustic affair which reflected the artist's subdued mood; Freedom is the exception. an out#and out dance track‚ it's also perhaps the most openly and brazenly personal track‚ at least lyrically. on one level GM was making his#statement on his future and his art: Wham was dead‚ the easy pop rocker was dead‚ George Michael was here to stay. with barbed shots at MTV#and a pointed message to the mourning Wham fans to get over it and move on‚ this is a mission statement and a fuck you rolled into one#you don't like it? i don't care. this is me‚ sings George‚ and I want to be me. it's also very much a coming out song only a coming out#song that works in secret; again‚ publicly‚ GM was straight. it's hard not to be moved by his lyrics ('I think it's time I told you so') as#he nakedly equates honesty with happiness; he talks about the early years ('I guess it was good enough for me') but also his need to move#forwards; a very literal and metaphorical change of outfits. there's no direct allusion to his sexuality but the hints are there#('the way i play the game is not the same'). it's a powerful‚ deeply personal assertion of self‚ and all the sadder for the fact that it#couldn't (or wouldn't) be the whole truth. lyrically GM keeps a tightly wound rhyme scheme that at times becomes almost hypnotically#rhythmic ('toDAY the WAY i PLAY the GAME is not the SAME') and take on an almost prayer like chant quality. George wrote and produced the#entire album almost single handed and never was his wealth of talent or breadth of ability clearer. this was an artist at their very prime#who nonetheless was struggling with issues of identity and personality and place within popular culture; but who translated all that doubt#and pain and worry into one of the best albums and one of the all time greatest queer anthems of a generation. rip George.

Last month, The Ashley broke the news that Andrew Lewis had resurfaced in his son Jace’s life, even surprising his ex Jenelle Evans by being beamed into the last CPS court hearing held in December in regard to the custody plan for Jace.
At the time, Jace was eager to explore having a relationship with his dad, who had not been in his life since he was an infant, except via a child support check sent to Jenelle’s mom Barbara (who had custody of Jace up until March 2023.)
Now, The Ashley can exclusively reveal that a lot has changed in regard to Andrew’s position in the custody case, as well as where his relationship with Jace stands.
As The Ashley previously told you last month, the 14-year-old was “thrilled” at the possibility of having his dad in his life. The Ashley can reveal that Jace and Andrew had started speaking on the phone while Jace was in CPS custody, and Andrew was brought into the CPS case involving Jace. The former “model in China” was even on video chat during the December hearing, much to Jenelle’s surprise.
(At that hearing, Andrew was placed under the same gag order as Barb, Jenelle and Jenelle’s husband David Eason, and ordered not to speak about the case publicly.)
While everything seemed to be getting on track for a possible father/son reunion, sadly, things have gone somewhat south in regards to Jace and Andrew’s budding relationship.
“Andrew has kind of peaced out again,” a source told The Ashley. “He wrote Jace a few letters and they spoke on the phone for a bit. But after that, Andrew seemed to lose interest, and so did Jace. I think the novelty of talking to his dad wore off for Jace and he doesn’t really care whether or not his dad is in his life now.”
The source also tells The Ashley that Andrew “was acting really weird” during the December CPS hearing he was beamed into and, at one point, was threatened by the judge to pipe down or get thrown out.
“Andrew kept interrupting the judge during the hearing, and also butted in while others involved in the case were speaking,” the source said. “It was getting to the point where no one could answer questions without an interruption from Andrew, so the judge told him if he did it again, he wouldn’t be part of the process. The whole thing was odd, considering Andrew had no part in raising Jace up until this point, and didn’t even know what he was talking about. He was lucky to even get to be there,” the source added.
As for Jace, the source said he is “doing well” and isn’t really interested in meeting his dad in person any time soon.
“He’s kind of over it,” the source said.
It is unknown if Andrew will be included in the CPS hearing that is being held later this month. Jenelle, Barbara and David are all expected to attend, though.
Andrew not following through with his relationship with Jace is somewhat surprising, given that he did a (strange) interview with The Sun last April in which he begged Jenelle (who, at the time, had just taken over custody of Jace from Barbara) to let him see or talk to his son.
“Jenelle, Barbara, just let me see him. Let me see Jace,” Andrew pleaded. “Let me talk to him. Give me something. This is no more MTV bulls**t, this is reality. Stop living on cloud nine and fall the f**k down to reality, because that’s where you’ve been living. I’m not trying to be rude to you.”
He also claimed that other members of his family were interested in having a relationship with Jace.
“Please let me see Jace. That’s all I ever wanted,” he continued. “Not just me– my family, my cousin, my nephew, my niece, my sister. Just let me see Jace.”
It’s unknown if Jace has spoken to any of his family members on Andrew’s side in recent months.

so in Rebel Robin, though it’s focused on Robin and acknowledges the weird things that happen in Hawkins (will and barb’s disappearances, respectively), the author, A.R. Capetta, does a really good job of building Hawkins. and by building Hawkins, i mean they make it very clear that it could’ve been Robin.
in chapter fifteen of the book, November 6th, 1983, Robin is at her friend Milton’s house. They’re hanging out, watching MTV, eating dinner, etc. Robin has to go home at some point, and her only mode of transportation is a bike. Here is the scene where she bikes home.
“...There’s a rustle in the undergrowth at the side of the road. I try to ignore it. I do whatever I can to keep the strange skittering sound from sending nervous flicks of fear across my skin. I ride faster, my wheels now blazing a straight arrow down the road. I hum a little bit of the first song I can find in my head, “Hungry Like the Wolf,” but the rustle seems to get louder in response. I shout the lyrics at the top of my lungs.” (pg 120.) “Headlights pierce the night behind me, and the rustling goes quiet as a car passes. Right when I let myself believe it’s gone, it comes back. Louder. Closer. There’s another sound beneath it, soft and pulsing. Something like blood rushing through a heart or breath dragged up a windpipe. I pull onto my street and by the time I drop my bike in the driveway, I'm running scared and I don't care who knows it. I sprint to the door--thank God it's unlocked--slam it shut, twist the lock behind me, and push my back against the solid wood." (pg. 121.) "...I pick it up, hoping for a voice. Any voice. I hear a second of hard breathing and I think that whatever just happened to me is happening to someone else in Hawkins." (pg. 121-122.)
After this, the power goes out, starting with the Byers' house (as we've seen in the show), and then Robin's goes out fairly quickly after her experience (which leads me to believe that she doesn't live that far from Will. Especially since it seems like the Demogorgon was trailing after her, too.) You could replace Robin in some of these scenes with Will, and it would read almost exactly the same as Will's disappearance. It got me thinking, though, and there are two ways that this train of thought has taken me, and now you all have to hear about it.
The first train of thought is this: What if Robin had been taken instead of Will? What would that look like? Who would search for her? she's not friends with Steve or Nancy or Jonathan at this point. (in fact, she actively resents two of these people.) Besides Milton and maybe Kate, I doubt her friends would've searched for her. Dash is a mix of Tommy H and season 1 Steve, and his control over Kate is reminiscent of Steve and Nancy. (which is the point, i know.) but in this case, Barb still would've disappeared, meaning that Nancy still had to search for Barb and fight some Demogorgons. I doubt her parents would've done too much, as she states that they "don't believe in worrying." Not only that, but her parents have admitted to her that she was an accident, "My parents had me by accident (nobody gets pregnant in a VW van on purpose)..." (pg. 40.) and she's described by her parents as "not a hard child to raise" and through several scenes in the book Robin indicates that she's practically raised herself, her parents are nothing short of neglectful, only parenting when they absolutely have to. But this question haunts me because it's one that changes the trajectory of the whole show. because if this is the case, does Nancy still find Jonathan? do they really go fight the Demogorgon together? do they go searching for Barb and then find Eleven? what then of Robin? Do they go in search of Barb, only to find a dead Barb and a barely alive Robin? and what about Hopper and Joyce? Furthermore, what would happen in a season 2 situation with the Mind Flayer? Who would be there to notice if she was acting differently--possessed by the Mind Flayer? certainly not her parents.
what this train of thought proves to me is that, at least, in the first two seasons, could not progress without a character like Joyce because her worry and love for her son drive her to the actions that put this plot in motion. If Joyce had acted anything like Robin's parents, the story would have fallen apart.
The second train of thought (and a much more fun train one) is this: What if the Demogorgon got both Will and Robin? They both disappear into the Upside Down, trying to survive. I figure that Robin would do what she can to protect both of them, considering that when she first meets Will, the first thing she wants to do is to comfort him and tell him that life gets better, but the second thing she wishes she could do is to run away from Hawkins. So now Hawkins has three missing kids; Will, Robin, and Barb. I imagine that much of the season would be the same. I would also imagine that Will and Robin traversing the Upside Down would've been a great dynamic to see. Perhaps it's Robin who's trying to contact Joyce through the phone or figures out that the lights can send messages through the Upside Down--prompting Will to send his messages to Joyce. When Eleven has to find them in the sensory deprivation, she finds them and tells Joyce and Hopper that there's someone there with Will, hiding the both of them from the Demogorgon. When Joyce and Hopper finally find Will, they find Robin there too, barely alive but Hopper grabs her as well and they make it out. I would assume that Joyce would thank Robin profusely for keeping an eye on Will and that Robin would practically be adopted by Joyce.
I'd also like to think season 2 would've been wayyy different. The Mind Flayer takes one of them or the other (or both) and opens a whole new world of possibilities.
Sorry, this post got out of hand; I was skimming Rebel Robin and didn't notice this until I skimmed it. Anyways, feel free to add to this post, I came across this in the book and knew i had to talk about it lol!

Guitar String of Fate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2,372 (plus social media posts)
Warning: Angst (just the lyrics to the songs on the album, everything else is fluffy!), Game of Thrones critique and reference to its violent content (it makes sense later)
Summary: When the band Daughters of Lilith tour bus breaks down in the middle of Indiana, they are left stranded for a few hours waiting for help. Y/N (also known by Echo) sees a bar in the distance with a giant LIVE MUSIC sign in bright neon lights, she tells the girls they might as well find some entertainment while they wait. The local favorite Corroded Coffin is playing, and when she locks eyes with the guitar player for the first time, Y/N can’t help but feel the electricity in the air. Will this be a missed connection? Or will the strings of fate bring them together again?
Author’s Note: Here it is! The first chapter of Guitar String of Fate! Hope you guys enjoy it! Let me know if you want to be tagged in future updates!
Part I
Tumblr media
[Official transcripts from the interview with Daughters of Lilith written by Frederick Benson, MTV News. Copyright © 2020 Viacomm International Inc. - All Rights Reserved]
This is Fred Benson coming to you live from Indianapolis! Fresh off the Antiquity tour, we have with us the members of Daughters of Lilith!
Echo: Lovely to be here!
Eden: Hey guys!
Chrissy: Hey everyone!
Barb: Hello!
Vickie: Hey!
For those who aren't in the know, Daughters of Lilith is an all girl rock band from Los Angeles, California. They took the music world by storm back in 2019 with their debut album "Into The Gorgon's Eyes." In an era where rock music was thought to be dead and buried, these ladies have brought it back to the land of the living! With millions of streams and stadiums across the country sold out, Daughters of Lilith has certainly rocked our worlds. Now tell us, how does it feel to finish up with your first continental tour?
Echo: It's definitely bittersweet. Everything has been amazing so far, all of our fans coming out to see us is absolutely surreal.
Vickie: Oh definitely, sometimes I feel like I'm going to wake up and this all thing was just a dream my brain made up.
Eden: I'm still shocked people actually like our sh*t. When we first formed the band we had no clue it would blow up like this.
Chrissy: It's crazy, because like, going on stage used to be so scary for me. Now it's like second nature! I loved seeing everyone's signs in the audience and watching them sing along to our music. It's so cool!
Barb: It feels good to be back in my home state of Indiana, but I can't wait to get back to LA for some much needed rest for sure.
Some R&R is definitely deserved, especially with the new album coming out in a few weeks. "A Mausoleum Knight's Dream" is heavily anticipated, when you guys dropped the title it went viral on social media. Can you tell us a bit about it?
Eden: It's definitely a different vibe from our first album, Y/N wrote most of the lyrics herself. I remember we were sitting in our apartment and I woke up to use the bathroom. I found her in the kitchen scribbling in her notebook like a woman possessed.
[Edit: Y/N L/N goes by the stage name Echo. Her band mates refer to her by her legal name in interviews]
Chrissy: She wrote the entire thing in like 2 days! It was insane! I don't think she slept!
Echo: I wasn't that bad...
Barb: You were. You were chugging espresso like it was water. Eden had to throw you in bed to get a couple hours of sleep and you snuck out the window!
Echo: I was in the groove!
Vickie: That just proves our point!
A whole album in two days! That's certainly something!
Echo: They're being dramatic. It was more like a week, but yea it was a lot. I got the idea for the album when we went to go see Shakespeare in the park. I get a lot of my inspiration for music from literature.
Yes of course. "Into The Gorgon's Eyes" was inspired from the Greek myth, right?
Eden: Yea and other myths and stories as well. Vickie and Y/N are big Greek mythology nerds.
Vickie: I'm a big Percy Jackson fan! But that wasn't the only reason why we chose the theme.
Echo: I think the story of Medusa is unfortunately something a lot of people can relate to. A lot of greek tragedies are. I wrote 'Wool Stained Red' after watching Game of Thrones actually. As much as I loved the show, the graphic displays of violence were absolutely horrific. It's insane how normalized violence is in media. How it's trivialized for plot development. We see it with Medusa, she was a victim of a crime and she became the villain, a monster. We sort of ran with the idea that we should show the other perspective. History, literature, myth, they're often written by the winners. We wanted to tell the story of the side characters, the ones who are cast aside to push the hero's narrative.
'Wool Stained Red' is actually one of my favorites on the album. Whenever I listen to the opening verse and chorus it always gives me goosebumps.
[Edit: 'Wool Stained Red' is the third song on the album.
Verse 1: They tell us as little girls / To watch for the wolf in sheep's clothes / Don't frolic, don't go, don't stray / Beasts lurk in the shadows / I thought I was safe inside, the door was locked up tight / You came like a ghost in the night, and now I'm the ghost inside
Chorus: The shroud that drapes around me is not as clean as it should be / I walked alongside the virgo / I tried to say no (tried to say no) / This stain won't go away, no matter how hard I try / You've marked my soul forever, until the day I die]
Barb: Y/N wrote the opening and Eden did the chorus. At the time, they were fighting over the notebook to get all of their ideas out.
Eden: We wouldn't have to argue over it if she didn't insist on using the same notebook for music...
Echo: It's my lucky charm! I bought ten of them from the same store for when we eventually run out of pages. I swear it's like magic, I can't write in anything else.
Chrissy: It's so cute actually, she takes care of that thing like it's her baby.
Vickie: She doesn't go anywhere without it.
Is that where you wrote A Mausoleum Knight's Dream?
Echo: Sure is. I'm excited to see what people think about it, I don't know if I can wait two weeks for it to drop. Patience is certainly not my virtue.
You're certainly not alone with that, fans have been buzzing for months for its release. Especially after the overwhelming success of the Antiquity Tour. Are you guys going to do another one for this album?
Vickie: We would love to! If the album does well I'm sure another tour is on the horizon.
So what's next for you ladies? Gonna spend some time in Indiana before heading back to LA?
Barb: I wish we could, but we have events planned in LA for the new album release. It would be nice to spend some time in my hometown for a bit, but we might come back the next time we have downtime.
Echo: I was really bummed out about that. I really wanted to see Hawkins.
Hawkins, Indiana?
Chrissy: Yea! Barb, Vickie, and I are from there! Funny enough, we didn't really know each other well until we all met again in LA.
Vickie: We actually all went to the same high school, but Hawkins High is pretty big and we didn't run in the same circles back then.
Barb: Chrissy was a cheerleader, Vickie was in band, and I was more of a home body. It's insane to think about where I am today. If you would have told 16 year old Barbara Holland she'd be in a rock band with millions of fans, she would have said you were insane. I only had one best friend in high school, her name's Nancy. We're still really close.
I'm actually an alumna of Hawkins High funny enough.
Barb: I knew I recognized you! You were on the paper with Nance right?
I was! I can't believe you recognized me! It's good to see you again.
Barb: It's good to see you again too, Freddie!
Eden: I'm feeling very left out right now.
Echo: I guess we're not cool enough to be a part of the Hawkins crew Edy.
Vickie: Oh you two are so dramatic.
Chrissy: We'll all plan a vacay soon! You guys can see where we grew up!
Echo: Sounds good Chris, I'd love to see it.
As much as I love this trip down memory lane, we unfortunately have to wrap up this interview. Any final words to your fans in Indiana?
Echo: You guys were kick ass last night! Can't wait to come back!
Eden: Till next time Indiana.
Chrissy: Bye everyone! We love you guys so much, thanks for coming out!
Vickie: Hope you guys like the new album!
Barb: Thank you Indianapolis, and shout out to Hawkins!
That's everything folks! This was Daughters of Lilith with you live in Indianapolis! A Mausoleum Knight's Dream drops in 2 weeks, so stay tuned for that!

Eddie was procrastinating, but it wasn't his fault. Really. It was Robin's. If she never suggested new music to him he would have actually made progress with Corroded Coffin's new material. How was he supposed to resist the temptation of an album called Into The Gorgon's Eyes? It was like a siren's call. The link to the album Robin had sent just begging to be played. Eddie knew Gareth would give him shit for listening to another band's music instead writing for his own, but when he did he care about Gareth's opinion anyway? He thinks Whitesnake is one of the best bands to come out of the 80s. Clearly his opinion was wrong.
Robin had told him that the best way to listen to the album was from beginning to end. That once he started it, he had to finish it. He had a few hours before he had to leave for The Hideout, so he decided to put it on early instead of playing it in his van. It was the best decision he made in weeks.
Daughters of Lilith's music wasn't like anything he'd listen to before. The melody transported him outside of himself. It sounded as if he was inside of a cave, or some abandoned ruins in an ancient land far away from Hawkins, Indiana. He understood why the lead singer decided to go by Echo, her voice surrounded him on all sides, moving through him like a stark winter's chill.
Robin was right when she said it was a masterpiece. It was haunting. Tragic. Eddie was hooked. The introduction 'My Body Is A Temple' was lighter, bright for a nu metal/goth rock band. All of the instrumentals were acoustic. Echo's voice shined; her high notes reminiscent of the church choir Eddie's mom made him join as a kid. Surrounded by stone, the reverb bouncing off the walls of his mind. Peaceful, angelic. Completely different from the song that followed it.
'Violated' began with an intense guitar rip, so loud it almost deafened him. The drums pounded against his ears like most of the metal music he listened too. What differentiated it from the rest was the soft keys of the piano that broke through the heavy tone. Echo's voice was heartbreaking. As if she was on the brink of tears. Pure agony. That's how most of the Into The Gorgon's Eyes went, a contrast of harmony and discord.
The last song on the album hit him the hardest. There are only a handful of songs that ever made him cry, 'Hemlock' was one of them. It left him feeling raw. Untethered to the space he occupied in his bedroom. Eddie knew he was going to be late for tune up at the Hideout, but he didn't care. When the song finished, he instantly replayed it. The melancholy sounds of Echo's sirens call beginning again.
Your hubris is showing my dear/ It’s what will destroy you /You swallow your pride without fear / Until those lips I once kissed turn blue / I wish I could say I was surprised / But from me, oh you could never hide /
The poison fills your veins / Like the way you filled my head / You tried to mask your pain / Now I sleep alone in our bed / They tell me it’s not your fault, that it’s a disease of the mind / And it’s so easy to say, until they watch the decay of your eyes that were once kind /
Gifts of the Earth can heal / They can send you to your grave / You’re sprinting backwards on life’s old wheel / That’s not how one should behave / And you won’t drag me there with you, despite how hard you tried / I’d rather walk this road alone than become a widow before a bride /
The poison slowly fills your veins / Like the way you filled my head / You tried to mask your pain / Now I sleep alone in our bed / They tell me it’s not your fault, that it’s a disease of the mind / And it’s so easy to say, until they watch the decay of your eyes that were once kind /
I told you I told you / Time and time again / The flowers are not so pretty / When they can bring the kiss of death / Say hello my darling, to the fates of three / When they cut your cord and steal your last breath / You told me I was your Eurydice, that you’d go to Hell and back for me / You’re a lyre, you stole the gold from the windows of my soul to pay Charon’s fee / I told you I told you / It was never if but when /
The poison slowly fills your veins / Like the way you filled my head / You tried to mask your pain / Now I sleep alone in our bed / They tell me it’s not your fault, that it’s a disease of the mind / And it’s so easy to say, until they watch the decay of your eyes that were once kind /
The poison slowly fills your veins / Like the way you filled my head / You tried to mask your pain / Now I sleep alone in our bed / I sleep alone in our bed /I sleep alone in our bed /
When you wake up tomorrow, will it be heaven sent?
