土地に根ざし動けない建築にとって、雑誌や本などのメディアは古くから、建築表現の発展、建築家たちのコンセプトの伝達に重要な役割を担ってきました。2000 年以後はインターネットメディアが台頭し、世界中の建築家の作品、ニュースが即座に拡散される状況になっています。その一方で長年親しまれてきた雑誌の廃刊が続くなど、紙からwebへと建築メディアの主流は移りつつあります。しかしながら近年、設計事務所が自ら出版社を立ち上げて出版されるこだわりの書籍や、建築家やメディア関係者らによる個性的で独自のテーマを扱ったZine がしばし話題になっています。こうしたメディアは、マーケット重視の出版企画では無視されるような萌芽的なテーマを扱い、丁寧に設計された造本が魅力です。また長い時間をかけて作られる建築物に対し、即興的でスピード感を持ってアウトプットされるこれら出版物は、その時々の作者=建築家の思考・アイデアを軽やかに、かつ鮮やかに刻み込むという魅力を持ちます。アーキジンズ・フェア 2024は、全国各地から40組を超える出展者、100冊近いZineが一堂に会し、多様化する建築や都市の現在を浮かび上がらせる、国内唯一の建築・都市に特化したジンフェアです。
