₊˚⊹⋆ Howdy there! It’s finally time for Sandrock's final release yay ₊˚⊹⋆

To celebrate this special occasion Sandara pulled off her jewelry making skills to prepare some unique rings for every sandrocker who wishes to propose to their soulmate ! So without further, here's a little story behind each design,

Qi - Sended an intriguing blueprint to Sandara with complex symbols and diagrams…He assured her that it meant something important to his soulmate so she craved the coded message in precious silver with care. Even if she didn’t get Qi special love language as usual she was sure his loved one would get it ;)

Owen - Our favorite bartender showed an intricate design to Sandara, a delicate pattern almost the same as his own parents' engagement ring. Like the gilding flowers on the cover of a fine book he wished to give his lover the beginning of the story they were about to write together in this life.

Fang - The swan holding a special meaning to him Fang requested Sandara to make his ring the shape of that gracious animal to seal his promise to love and cherish his dearest one forever.

Ernest - Came by with this big and expensive pearl that got a special meaning to him asking Sandara if she could add it to his ring. The pearl symbol of his loyalty and love was carefully placed on the gold ring, the initials of his name and his lover one engraved on the inside.

Pablo - He made a special request to Sandara in search of the most colorful metal they could find for his ring in which bismuth mineral was perfect! Showing how bright and full of all the colors of this world his love was for his chosen one.

Arvio - Insisting on getting the most fine materials Arvio asked for a special ring. He showed Sandara a rare sand flower from Baranarok symbolizing hope and renewal inspiring the shape of that jewel meant to bond him and his other half forever.

Miguel - Requested a rather simple but very elegant ring, made with pale gold with a single diamond to show the purity of his love for his chosen one.

Burgess - Asked for something extra special to convey all his will to live in happiness and kindness with his soulmate. The yellow diamond he chose shining in the center of his ring radiating like the sun all his love.

Pen - In secret Pen demanded the most powerful ring Sandara could make to give his special one great strength and power he’s all for. However he never delivered it himself…

Unsuur - While admiring his collection Unsuur couldn't choose which gem was more fitting so he brought them all to Sandara to make a special ring! (even adding a few shards Wilson lost to make the base of his special ring ;)

Justice - Wanted a pretty ring that still felt like him so Sandara took great care at bringing out Justice strong will and honesty toward his most precious one with this silver and copper ring.

Logan - The only one Sandara didn’t made because well Logan made it himself for his special one! On late hunt nights he sat by the fire and carefully carved this ring in bones with the will to give his loved one something he made with all his heart.

This isn’t much but I hope everyone will have much fun playing and living wonderful adventures with Sandrockers friendly as romantic ones ! As I used to study jewelry making it was very much fun to do and fitting hc that Sandara would make them for the town folks !

It’s been already one year that I have being in this fandom and so so grateful for everything it brought me and the wonderful people it allowed me to meet ♡

Arvio

Arvio already has no idea what inhibition is so expect his personality to intensify by 200% while his ability to actually come up with schemes drops by 200%.  He’s gonna have so many half-baked terrible ideas that he will immediately try to act upon, so be ready to keep him on a kid leash to avoid some really dumb incidents.  ��Builder!  I just had the best idea for how to get more investors for By the Stairs, but we have to act fast!  I’m hopping on the next train to Atara right n- what do you mean it can wait til morning??”  Arvio already slurs his words, so drunk Arvio I could see being almost unintelligible.  Once he’s drunk enough, he’ll constantly flip back and forth between beaming over how much he loves the builder and sobbing over Fang’s most recent rejection.

Amirah helps at first, but clocks out of babysitting after the first hour of shenanigans.  Good luck Builder.  He’s your responsibility now.

Burgess

Sweet, sweet summer child Burgess.  He’s not much of a drinker, but would easily be peer pressured into drinking games, especially if the Builder wants him to play.  Others offer to drink for him if he wants, but Burgess insists that, as the Chief Water Inspector, his high hydration levels and position of bureaucratic authority give him a high enough tolerance to make it through the whole game.  They do not.  Sweet baby boy’s never been drunk before and has no idea how to handle it, so be ready to babysit this one too.  He’s gonna cry over how beautiful the cactus flowers are in full bloom, how Banjo jumped in his lap and started purring, and how you’re an angel from the Light sent to save Sandrock.  Keeping him hydrated is easy, but if he does throw up, he’ll never forgive himself for the wasted water.

He’s very good at listening to the Builder’s instructions and advice on sobering up, though.  Of all the drunks on this list, he’s the easiest to comfort and get to bed by far.

Drunk Burgess is a “sinner” (by his perspective) & 100% gives Pen the “you’re a bully but I forgive you” speech instead of turning the other cheek or forgiving immediately.

Ernest

It’s been a while for him.  Did he drink and party with Luna back in Atara?  100%, but since arriving at Sandrock, he’s been so busy with hyper fixating on Logan and trying to survive droughts and sandstorms, there hasn’t been much of an opportunity for him to just let loose and party.  Once he finally does, though?  Mans is writing sonnets on sonnets on sonnets.  None of them rhyme, or even make sense, but he gives them his all anyway.  “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”  “Ernest, you said that one already.”  “Did I?  I guess every time I see you, I seem to just forget everything else.”

Ernest is pretty open about flirting with the Builder normally, so when he’s drunk, expect to hear it way way more.  He’s gonna rizz up that Builder as well as his drunk brain can ‘cause he absolutely LOVES seeing them blush because of him.  He’s all talk though, well aware that when he’s drunk, neither he nor anyone else should take him seriously.  He’s just having fun!

Fang

I could see Fang going one of two ways when drunk: either he realizes he’s drunk and immediately goes to sleep regardless of location OR his walls come down and you get to see an almost completely unfiltered Fang.  When his walls come down, oh man, Arvio better watch out.  If Arvio were to try any shenanigans, Fang is definitely telling him to shut up and sit down.  He’s grumpy normally, so drunk Fang would be much more likely to express that grumpiness.  It’s not that he’s a mean drunk so much as he is just more comfortable expressing himself under the effects of liquid courage.

If he’s with the Builder, he becomes soooooo clingy and jealous.  “The feel of your touch, unforgettable.”  Yeah he’s not giving up the feel of your touch while he feels confident enough to truly demand it.  If the builder is standing, he’s right behind them with arms around their waist.  If the builder is sitting, his head is on their shoulder, hand on their thigh, glaring down other townies who get too close.  

X lowkey loves when Fang gets drunk because it means he doesn’t have to filter what he says either, not that he does it too much normally.  He definitely eggs Fang on if the kind doctor happens to be roasting someone (Arvio) like a squawking mini-hypebeast.  At the same time, X helps the builder out a lot with getting Fang to drink water and go to sleep.

He has a very low tolerance, 4 drinks max

Justice

Our favorite Sheriff and tiredest dad of all the bachelors, Justice definitely knows how to drink.  One of his best friends is the local saloon owner, so yes, Justice has a pretty high tolerance.  With that, Justice tends to be pretty mellow when he drinks, but if he’s with the builder, he’s getting flirty too.  He’s gonna lean hard into the cowboy aesthetic, with a fake tip of the hat before asking the builder to dance.  During the dance Justice is pulling the builder close enough to stand on his feet (so he doesn’t drunkenly stumble on them) & going all the way with the spins and twirls.  He’s not elegant by any means, but he is fun!  He’s giggly and having a good time (probably annoying Logan).

If the builder is a friend, he’d insist on walking them home to see them off safely before stumbling back to his house.  If the builder is more than a friend, Justice is definitely laying on the rizz  and trying to get laid down at the workshop.

Logan

We all know the yakboy only dances when he drinks, but what else will he do when drunk?  Logan has a temper, yes, but he’s also a soft gooey ball of affection with the people he cares about, and that dichotomy is on full display when he drinks.  He avoids drinking games (they’re dumb & childish & he’s a grown man, damnit), but if the Builder wants to get up to drunken shenanigans?  Oh he’s in.  

“Darlin’, are you seriously tellin’ me ya wanna go build a scarecrow that looks like death to set up outside Cooper’s house ‘n scare him when he wakes up at 4am?”  “Ye”  “What do ya need me to do?”

Surprisingly, not a horny drunk at all (fanfic writers sue me).  BUT, he is an affectionate drunk with the builder.  Kinda like Fang, he’s all about the physical affection, especially in public.  The builder is his, and he’s gonna make sure it stays that way.  When they get home, he just wants to lay in bed with the builder in a cuddly vice grip til they both fall asleep.

He definitely relies on Rambo knowing the way home, just hops up, tells the goat where to go, and halfway passes out in the saddle.  He’s definitely getting roasted for being a lightweight by Andy when he gets home.

Miguel

How else would a religious fanatic obsessed with discipline act when drunk?  Off the rails ranting & outright simping for the builder.  Full stop.  I’m not even a Miguel fan and I know this man is so down bad for the builder.  He wouldn’t even want to drink initially, until the builder challenges him to a game.  “Very well, Builder.  For the person who has done the most to promote telesis in this barren land, I can surely raise a glass or two in celebration.”

Once he’s drunk, expect a strange combination of sermon and praise for the builder (he will definitely be mortified in the morning).  But if the builder even touches him by accident, he’s already hiding a sneaky semi tenting his pants.  

“Miguel…are you hard right now?”  “Builder, it would be a sin for me to deny the truth of this situation.  *proceeds to dramatically throw his jacket off*  Take me now, body and soul.”  “I mean, sure, but…can that wait til we can get home?”  “OH…………………..yes”

The next morning, while nursing a hell of a hangover and the raw, unfiltered embarrassment of drunken mistakes, he vows to never drink again.  At least, as long as the builder doesn’t ask him to.

Owen

Honestly?  I don’t see Owen acting too differently when drunk, just a lot less anxious when interacting with the builder.  Seemingly out of nowhere, his stuttering and nervous way of speaking with the builder is gone, replaced with a more confident barkeep.

He’s wicked good at drinking games, having spent his entire life inside of a saloon.  If you think you’re winning beer pong or rage cage against Owen’s 6 foot something ass, you’re wrong.  There’s a reason Justice and Logan outright refuse to play drinking games with him, and it’s cause it always ended with someone throwing up.  Never Owen, though.  He’s got a finely tuned tolerance for alcohol and knows exactly where his sweet spot is.  

He won’t really try to initiate any sexy times with the builder, but if they start dropping hints for him?  “Justice, can you watch the bar while I step out with the builder real quick?  They need some help..um…perfecting a new recipe.”  Cue Justice’s shit-eating grin.  “Sure pardner, take as long as y’all need” with a quick wink at the couple

Pablo

Is he drunk, or has he just been pretending to drink that much?  Who knows?  Pablo’s been around, especially in Walnut Groove.  He knows how to drink and even more so, he knows how to look how to drink especially.  He’s watching the town get absolutely smashed with glee, taking stock of everything that happens, especially anything embarrassing.

He’s the one who calls at 8am the next morning when you’re hungover to hell and back and tell you, in excruciating detail, every embarrassing thing you said and did, just in case you forgot.  All in all, I think he likes to drink a little, socially of course, but he’s far more interested in getting others drunk instead of himself.

Pen

Assuming that Pen can get drunk (he is sensitive to Duvos peppers), he’s gonna be glued to whatever the nearest reflective surface is.  But what actually surprises the builder is how genuinely affectionate he becomes with them, especially if they’re not officially a thing yet.  He wants them sitting in his lap so he can wrap their skinny arms in his big arms the entire time.

When he’s not being affectionate, he’s definitely trying to spar with them, though.  For Pen, fighting is very much foreplay, and this is even more true when he’s drunk.  He would already be turned on just by the builder existing, so a drunken brawl at 2am?  He’s the hardest he's ever been the entire time, full stop.  Bro is so hard from fighting the builder he has to take care not to fall flat on his face or he might break Pen jr.  

Pen avoids getting drunk because it also makes him feel guilty, at least some part of him.  He doesn’t necessarily like deceiving the builder (Sandrock he could take or leave tbh), but he has to so he can protect the life he wants for himself.  The builder changed a lot of that for him, so he feels a lot of guilt about keeping secrets.  Don’t be surprised if drunk Pen says he needs to confess something, only to go silent for 5 straight minutes before telling them he’s just hungry.

Qi

You know that meme about the guy’s roommate who blacks out and designs an entire airplane?  That’s Qi when he drinks, but with spaceships.  How did you get him to the saloon to start drinking in the first place?  Three words: Saloon Trivia Night.  Qi is competitive, and assumes that he’s usually at the top of his respective totem pole, so when Owen starts including trivia questions about archaeology, building, agriculture, etc, Qi can get frustrated relying on his team to answer for him.  And for every round lost, that’s another drink finished.  Soon enough, he’s ranting about the uselessness of “soft sciences” and the possibilities of interstellar space travel (someone please just make out with him and shut this nerd up)  The drunker he gets, the more he only excuses the builder’s mistakes and no one else’s.

This man definitely gets hot and bothered when drunk, but has no idea what he’s feeling or what to do about it, so he usually just goes to bed.  If the builder is romancing him, though?  The builder will definitely need to initiate things, but from there a now-uninhibited Qi goes off, following any and every instinct he can that the builder will allow.  He wants to try everything with them, for science of course.  

Unsuur

Regular Unsuur is honest, if a bit stoic.  Drunk Unsuur is too honest, and still kinda stoic.  As soon as he has a thought, he’s saying it, no filter.  It doesn't matter who he is talking to or what he is saying, he’s gonna let loose with whatever he’s thinking.  “Hey Cooper, why do you talk so much?  Like, you talk a lot.  Going on and on, kind of like I am now.  Why do you do that?”

“Unsuur, are you drunk?”

“Yeah.  Oh.  Builder, can I make love to you until you’re breathless and destroyed and the only word you know is my name?  I think you’d be really beautiful like that”

“Unsuur, we’re in public! Everyone can hear you right now.”

“Oh, yeah.  We should probably go home before doing that.  Pretty sure having sex in public is a crime.”

Aside from shamelessly flirting with the builder, Unsuur would also just wax philosophical to all the town pets in some corner of the saloon.  None of the other drunks there could keep up with his train of thought, but he doesn’t let that stop him.  Now Macchiato’s third eye is open, and he’s considering joining the civil corps under Captain.

Anyway, headcanons for the bachelors below the cut! HC's are for a GN builder from 2nd person

Arvio

Of course he'll be concerned over an injured builder, and that's exactly why he'll take them to the best doctor he knows who just so happens to be a very close friend of his, in case you didn't know. Maybe you cut yourself while trimming some steel plating, or maybe you sprained your ankle getting off your horse. No matter how small the injury, it's as if his entire world is ending right then and there. Arvio's dramatic ass is 100% losing his mind as soon as he even notices you're sick or injured. "Ah, if you get hurt, I'm the one who feels pain!" You can fully expect poor Fang to only barely hold it together as he attempts to treat both you and a lamenting, monologing Arvio at the same time. (He's gonna have to tap the sign)

I do think he has a really hard time seeing blood or vomit, though. Like, if the builder comes home after a ruin dive covered in cuts and scrapes, he's gonna do his best to be there for you, but he's also gonna be fighting the urge to pass out the whole time you're stitching yourself back together. And if your builder gets sick? Buddy, if you're throwing up, he's throwing up right next to you. Y'all may have to close both the workshop and the general store for a few days, but at least you'll know you aren't suffering alone. Plus, you can get matching scrunchies to hold your hair back as you both take turns visiting the bathroom. So romantic <3

Burgess

By-the-book Burgess is taking you to Fang's as soon as he spots the gash on your leg or feels the fever in your face. While he's normally quite happy to follow the builder's lead as he has such absolute faith in your judgement, this is one situation where he will simply refuse to back down, regardless of how fine you tell him you feel.

"Burgess, I'm fine, really." Cue the world's most wet, hacking cough

"N-no! I mean, I'm sorry, but Dewdrop, you're obviously sick! Flushed skin, light-headed, you're at risk of dehydration! I'm afraid I have to insist you head home while I get you some medicine and water."

In-game, Burgess sometimes seems far more interested in the builder than in the Light, so I think, unlike Miguel, he might pray over the builder a little bit, but his main focus would be on getting you medicine and making sure you stay hydrated. If you're throwing up, you can bet he's gonna put on his bravest face to help you out. Altneratively, don't expect him to be able to stitch up a wound without crying and passing out at least once.

Ernest

"Ew." His first reaction to the builder coming out of the bathroom and letting him know they've been throwing up is…underwhelming to say the least. That's not to say he doesn't care or feel bad for them! He does, he's just also not the most - we'll say nurturing person in town. Plus, with as hyper-capable as the builder always seems, the idea that they would get sick just like anyone else doesn't necessarily click in his brain right away.

That being said, once he does wrap his head around it, he's falling back on what he knows: story tropes. He'll have you cocooned in all the blankets he can find, laid out in bed with a damp rag on your forehead. When you wake up from a nap, he'll be sitting by the bedside, head pillowed on his folded arms right next to you, despite the fact that there's plenty of space for him to just sleep in the bed as well.

"Ernest, it's just a cough. I probably just breathed in too much dust do-"

"Shhhh, shh, shh. Save your strength and just rest," he'll sigh dramatically as he dips the rag back into a basin of water and dabs at your forehead. Don't be surprised if you wake up from a nap to find a hot bowl of soup at your bedside and Ernest staring wistfully out the window like he's waiting for his lover to return from war.

Fang

Being the town doctor, Fang is no stranger to treating illnesses and injuries, but if it's his builder who's hurt? Oh he's going full smother: strict bedrest until the injury is healed, no building, no adventures, no leaving the house. Don't make him tap the sign. Until this man is 100% sure his builder is back to full health, he's the captain now. If you're romancing Fang and you get sick, it's in everyone's best interests to just go along with what he wants, especially given his history with his mother. Seeing you sick, even if it's something small, brings back some incredibly traumatic memories.

Part of him definitely knows he's being unreasonable confining the builder to bedrest over a small cold, but he's also deathly afraid that it might turn into something worse, and he's not sure how he could live with himself if something happened to you on his watch. Just take the free vacation for a couple days and let your silly grumpy husband take care of you. Besides, X will find a way to sneak you some cookies and shiny trinkets anyway.

Speaking of X, you know the bird is gonna help cheer you up by perching in his little corner of the room and singing showtunes all day. He'll glide down by your side and call you a pretty bird, cooing over you constantly even as Fang tells him to get out so you can rest.

Justice

As the foremost lawbringer in Sandrock, it won't escape his detective notice when the builder shows up at the Civil Corps office sporting a red, runny nose and a hacking cough. Being a problem solver, he'll simply prohibit you from taking Corps commissions until you return with a note from Fang clearing you to work again. He'll also stop by the workshop after his shift with a batch of Vivi's famous soul-reviving soup that he made himself. If the builder is particularly low-energy while you're sick, he also won't be able to stop the constant stream of dad jokes in an effort to cheer you up.

"Was it my workout this morning before patrol? Didn't mean to make you swoon this hard, Chickadee, haha!" Cue that really self-satisfied dad laugh that is often accompanied by an overzealous slap of the knee. Justice 100% slaps his knee when he cracks himself up, and you can't convince me otherwise.

Walking into the workshop to find a sick builder on the couch: "Heeyy Good Lookin', what'cha got cookin'? Actually, maybe don't share that with me, for the safety of Sandrock."

If he's romanced, but not necessarily married yet? Oh buddy, he's practically living in the workshop until you're better. He'll stop by before patrols begin to drop off more medicine and supplies, urging you to rest until you're better. After patrols are done for the day, he's right back over, cooking a nutritious dinner and staying until well after you're asleep just to make sure you'll be okay for the night.

Logan

If the illness/injury isn't anything fatal or super serious, you can fully expect this man to fall back on medical knowledge from the trail. While you spend the day resting, he's out in the desert hunting down the same strange monster parts and herbs his Pa used to use on him. They don't make for the most appetizing or pleasant medicine, but they'll get you back on your feet in no time. Oh, you've got some congestion going on? Eat some raw spicy peppers and it'll clear you right up! (My grandma irl used to love this one when I was a kid) Got a headache and fever? He's got honey imported from Portia to make you a hot toddy and get you to sleep. He'll even stop by the Blue Moon to see if Owen knows a way to make Boxing Jack liver actually taste good. Turns out, the secret is just not to burn it to a crisp.

We get to see how he handles a sick Andy in-game, and while he does reach out for help in taking care of the kid, he's also not super worried about Andy's recovery. Having lived on the run for so long with the boy and spent his life in the wilderness with his father, he knows which injuries and illnesses to worry about, and which ones the body can fend off relatively easily. That being said, he also knows the builder spends a lot of time in the ruins around Sandrock, the same ones where his father fell ill. Even though he's aware it was Pen who infected Howlett, he still gets uneasy if the builder gets sick immediately after a ruin-dive, and this will make him just a tad bit more paranoid. He's not a fan of enemies he can't kill with a well-placed bullet.

He won't take you to the Clinic, but he will have Fang come by the workshop to treat you, just to be sure that no one else can take you from him while you're vulnerable. He'll do his best to stay by your side, and while he might refrain from too much physical affection, he's not afraid of getting sick himself, so expect him to be cuddled up in bed next to you as much as possible. Even though you're the one who gets sick, he's the one falling asleep first, every time. You'll be in bed reading a book as you breathe through one nostril, and soon enough those blue eyes are shut and he's snoring softly in your lap. Just be careful not to sneeze on him.

Miguel

(I won't lie, I had to read through Miguel's romance dialogue to try and figure this one out. I know a lot of people really like his character, but the heavy religious tones are a bit much for me, so forgive me if I take a few liberties here.) Miguel is very formal a lot of the time, and almost reverent towards a romanced builder. For him, especially after the builder finds it in themselves to forgive him after all the Duvos stuff, they become a sort of personification of the Light - though he'd never admit something so heretical even to himself. In the same way that Burgess sees you as someone holy and touched by the Light, Miguel also sees you and feels for you with no small amount of religious fervor.

While he does highly value discipline in everyday life, if his builder is bedridden for a few days with a nasty fever, he's just lost with worry. He finds a small amount of comfort in praying over the builder as they rest, but like Fang, he very much finds himself in the smother side of things, as actively working to solve the problem relieves a lot more of the stress than just leaving your care to a higher power. He'll try to feed you more soup and cucumber water than is humanly possible to consume, and constantly lecture you about taking care of your health, even as he softly brushes the sweaty hair from your face and presses a tender kiss to your burning forehead. He'll pretty much only let you out of bed to go bathe, and even then, he's sitting right next to the tub helping you to shampoo your hair and scrub your back.

Owen

Oh, your builder is coming down with a fever? Not to worry, Owen's got a 200 year old family recipe guaranteed to fix you right up. Don't ask what's in it, just know it's tasty & effective. Similarly to Logan, Owen's done his fair share of adventuring and has seen plenty of injuries and illnesses, so he's got a good feel for when it's time to really worry. Unlike Logan, he'll still be an anxious mess, less so over your health being at risk and more so that your illness/injury is causing you pain and there's only so much he can do to help.

"You sure you got enough to eat, Dumplin'? I brought some more ingredients from the Saloon, so make sure you get plenty of soup. I've been trying to mix some of the medicine into your food since Fang's recipes can be rather…bracing. But if it's no good, just let me know and we can do this the old fashioned way."

There's a decently high chance that he'll just ask you to move into a room at the saloon while you recover so he can periodically come in and check on you. If you're having trouble falling asleep, he'll sit by your side and tell you all his best stories until you pass out. Expect for Grace to barge in every now and then if things downstairs become too much or she accidentally sets fire to the kitchen again.

Pablo

Pablo has attitude, and is usually quite tongue-in-cheek with the way he interacts with the world, but a romance with Sandrock's titular builder shows him that even the most mundane aspects of life can become bright and beautiful through rose-tinted glasses. That being said, he would much prefer to deal with an injured builder than an ill one. Blood and scars can be quite striking and romantic! (when they're not lethal, of course) But vomit and a runny nose? Not cute, and there's no making it cute.

While you lay in bed in a cold sweat, surrounded by piles of used tissues, you turn to him and ask, "Am I still beautiful?" "Absolutely not," he'll respond with a firm shake of his head. "But I do still love you, and the tarot reading says you'll be healthy and hot again soon. Until then, My Spark, you remain the monster of my eye, the very apple under my bed." Yeah, he's not gonna try too hard to spare your feelings there, but that's also just how he is. He loves you and cares for you deeply, but if you're icky, he's gonna let you know. If you have a good enough sense of humor to be with him in the first place, his gentle roasts and snark are actually comforting while you're down. Especially because it means there's nothing serious to worry about. He knows the builder is strong enough to save a whole town! What's a pesky little virus compared to that?

Pen

Similar to Logan, Pen is not a fan of enemies he can't physically fight, and that includes both bacteria as well as serious emotions. If he's already burdened by caring for the builder (they're supposed to care about him, not the other way around, damnit) he's gonna be pretty vocal about how amazing he is for taking care of you while you're down. "Babe, fear not for your injuries, for the Protector of Sandrock is here to personally get you back to peak physical health again! Just the sight of my sculpted jaw and rippling pecs should be more than enough to get you back on your feet!"

This man is a Dork™, through and through, and while he may be a bit hesitant helping a sick builder at first, all it takes is a little challenge for him to become the most aggressively capable nurse in Sandrock, even if it kills him. "Aww c'mon Pen, you're telling me the Protector of Sandrock can't hold my hair back so I can puke in peace? You can punch a man's guts out of his stomach, and you can't handle a bit of mucus? What are all those muscles for anyway?" Cue Pen practically force-feeding you medicine and soup and rolling you up so tightly in blankets you begin to just marinate in the fabric like a sad little slab of beef. He's gonna try his best not to let his own lunch come back to visit even as he holds the bucket for you, so try not to laugh at him too much or his feelings might get hurt.

As a side note, I can also very much imagine that Pen is the type of boyfriend who, if the builder gets a bruise, would kinda poke it without thinking, and when the builder obviously reacts with a little "ouch!" he'll look down at his hands with a "what have these heroic fingertips done?"

Qi

Qi is an incredibly capable scientist and inventor, making him a reassuringly proactive partner to have if you get sick. He does not, however, possess what you might call "bedside manner" or a tolerance for the sight of blood. If he rushes to the clinic to find Fang stitching up a particularly nasty gash on his Starlight's leg, he's passing out on sight. Despite the embarrassment, he'll pay strict attention to Fang's treatment plan and do his best to follow the routine perfectly, even if it means taking thirty minutes to try and wake you up from a nap so you can take your medicine on time.

He's a bit better with illnesses, but still a bit queasy, and he'll try to reassure the both of you by reciting near endless facts about the specific chemical processes happening in your body as the virus attacks you and the medicine works to fight it. For him, understanding every aspect of the illness and treatment is far more comforting than simple faith in the doctor. Science is nothing without peer review, is it not?

He will try and find a way to use the mobile suit to help you out, though. After a few failed attempts to get it inside the house so he can help you take a bath or get around, he'll try instead to finish your open commissions while you're sick. He does get slightly better at piloting the thing, but after the 10th failed attempt at constructing a valve, he finally has to admit defeat. He'll return to your side, dejected and slumped, to report his findings after the experiment. He'll need some reassurance that yes, he's helping you out a lot by keeping to Fang's treatment plan, and that it is, in fact, okay for him to not do your job for you.

Unsuur

Unsurprisingly, this man is one of the best people to have by your side if your builder is sick or injured. He's not exactly squeamish about anything, and being in the Civil Corps has given him a decent knowledge of first aid. Add to that the fact that he's incredibly collected and confident in your builder's strength and Fang's treatment plan, and you've got yourself a recipe for some top-tier caretaking.

If there isn't a shelf of rocks in your builder's room already (why wouldn't there be tbh), he's bringing the best of his collection over, Wilson included, to help keep you company when he's out on patrols for the day. Before he heads out in the morning, he'll stop by Wilson - sitting politely on a chair next to your bed - and let him know to watch out for you and get you anything you need. He's still stopping by the workshop any chance he gets to check on you himself though, don't worry. Man's is a lover and a fighter, 10/10 no notes.

If he happens to have the day off, bro is still not bothered as he's more than happy to sit in complete silence next to you while you're snoozing, just whiling away the time completely zoned out, probably thinking about rocks. Maybe he'll check out your bookshelf, see if you have any cool building manuals, or he might up and make you some yellow soup 'n lemons to help you get back on your feet. Either way, when you're down and out for the count, he's the rock you can lean on for support.
