A man asked me to build a statue of his dead girlfriend. It took me 2 whole days to finish it, and then when I went to deliver it to him, he said, "Oh, just put it in your yard somewhere and I'll come by sometimes to look at it." I was pretty miffed to find out he didn't even want to keep it, but he was grieving, so I let it slide. I put the statue in my front yard by the fence and called it a day. Then the next morning, while I was working outside, I turned around and saw him opening my gate and skipping onto my property like it was nobody's business so he could put his face an inch close to the statue and mumble to himself for three hours. I hate this town.

Replaying My Time At Portia in hopes that Dr. Xu asks me out this time (some of you might know that I couldn't trigger the question with my first playground) and something just occurred to me-

Is there a possibility that the reason why I couldn't trigger this dialogue :

Is because I hired Ack? In stardew valley, if you don't want to romance/marry anyone, you can ask Krobus to be your roommate - hiring Ack is the equivalent of that???

I'm assuming that you can be married and still hire Ack. What I mean is that, perhaps, the confession doesn't trigger because that scene alone considers hiring Ack as a helper equivalent to dating someone. I don't know, that's why I am asking.
