something that rly grinds my gears in theatre is when choices are made solely based on time period. and not including themes, symbolism, yk the actual Meaning of the show alongside its true-to-context setting.

take gatsby for example. you can either go “okay it’s in the 1920s in these parts of new york so we’re gonna have super glitz and glam here here and here” or. or.

you can say “okay well we know that for jay and daisy, their wealth came from other people’s downfalls (daisy through turning down jay and jay through wolfshiem’s deeds) and their status and class privilege is represented through myrtle getting hit by the car right. so let’s make that the entire setting of the play, disguised by glitz and glam. let’s make the entire set shiny and pretty and have those shiny and pretty things actually be smashed-up car parts, meaning the car accident is ‘happening’ the whole play, while still upholding the illusion of new money glam”. do u get me.

First.

Hwo do you think legend would react to having to play a lead character for the opeing of the show and the main character he played love interest was one if the dives? Like maybe lullaby started panicking because dusk dropped out on opening night and she got sick and lullaby panicked and told legend he would play the lead daisy Buchanan (i'm just using the great gatsby musical characters bc i'm in love with it right now) and one of the dives played jay gatsby and he had to kiss them and sing powerful songs?

Second.

I don't know if it is Canon but in the linked Universe, legend is times descendent or direct successor. How do you think tike would react to finding out he had one more descendent under his nose and it's the veteran who is prickly and cold nothing like twilight his descendent or wind I think wind is his successor who is goofy ans child like but also put. Off even though in recent update we saw legend is an aboustle gremlin...well live that though.

Do you think legend would ever yell at twilight? Like maybe legend is having a bad day snd twilight says somting like "time left the master sword in perfect condition I didn't have to save Mt world until I was 17" and so on just really boasting about it to legend maybe because legendhad been mean or snsrky to wild and twilightwas trying tk get back for wild. Snd legend snaps "yeah really?! Good for you well time didn't leave the master sword in good condition for me! When I found the master sword it rusted beyond belief I had to build it back up with my own 9 (or who ever years old legend was) old hands with times blood on it because time died! Well fighting ganon making my world fall apart leaving a nine year old to save it!" Had legend just yells at twilight dumping all of his trauma on twilight even bring marin into to mix, and the whole chain stands there watching their veteran yell at the ranch hand with tears streaming down his face. Well time feels horrible for birnf inccont legend into the cruel world of being a hero, and giving him that trauma.

Legend can and has filled in for leading roles before, but he's also been cast in them! His major starring role is actually one of his more iconic (there's nothing more iconic than that, fight me) and does feature a bit of a "love story" between himself and the character that Warriors plays. Granted, Legend's character is faking the whole thing, but it's still a lot of flirting on stage. They both know how to be professional about it and behave themselves though, and anything like kissing is usually faked for the sake of the actors (when and if they can, there's no actual contact made, as long as they can make it look like there is. He's also ended up having to play a love interest (unrequited, but still) for Wild's character! They had a good laugh about it honestly and yeah, there was a moment there where people had questions, but it just turns out Legend's a good actor and very convincing :)

Honestly, I think Time would be sort of shocked to find out that Legend is also his successor, but also sort of horrified. I mean, Legend comes from a world where Time not only died, but also failed in his duties as a hero, leaving them to fall on the shoulders of another child instead. Granted, that's not his fault, but if you look at their timeline talk and all, you can't deny Time wouldn't blame himself at least a small amount. Would that guilt make it harder for him to be around Legend? Would he treat him differently, knowing that Legend might never have become a hero if Time hadn't fallen? I think he would. I think the guilt would eat at him, because while he does know there will always be heroes who rise to face evil, the fact that Legend had to rise specifically to clean up after him would devastate him. All the more so because Legend's the guy who's done the most out of all of them and is the only one to repeatedly have to fight Ganon, because the pig gained immortality as (again) a result of the Hero of Time falling.

I don't know that Legend would trauma dump on any of his brothers intentionally. he's very guarded, an people like that tend to not be super eager to drop truth bombs that big in a moment flat. Over time though? Sure! Someone makes a comment about the Master Sword and Legend ends up revealing that he had to reforge his before it was actually fit for use, because it was left in ruin. Something else later lets them learn that it still had Time's blood on it when it was left in the forest, and that Legend, while reforging the blade, had to clean the blood-rust away, smelling the blood of his predecessor as he worked. Maybe this or that comes up and they slowly start getting the puzzle pieces of the vet's life; nothing seems to fit together one way or another, and they're not sure how much is true because there's so many things, how could this much happen to one person? But then they realize how many adventures there have been, and how long it took, and when the final nail in the coffin comes with a tired "I was eight", it really hits them all. Legend wouldn't dump it all at once, but I think his brothers are smart enough to put together what he does say to find out the truth, and I think it would devastate them. Twilight would absolutely feel guilty about having it "so easy" in comparison (no such thing, they all suffered, but hey, they all think their pain is lesser than the rest) but I think Legend would shut that down in a heartbeat, if he knew. Now, if Legend inhibitions were lowered in some way and someone set him off? We might get it all at once, with the drama you described. Legend would have to be pretty out of it to be so honest about his past, but hey! Whatever works to make fissures and pain, no?

Bianca was born and raised in the wealthy part of Del sol Valley. She has always been in the spotlight as her parents are the it couple of Del sol valley. Everyone in her entourage believed she was going to follow in her mother's footsteps and dominate the runway with her good looks, but they were all surprised upon hearing she wanted to become a secret agent. Though somewhat disappointed with her choice of career, her parents supported her the best they could. People claimed her parents had pulled some strings when it came to being promoted to a Double Diamond Agent as she was indirectly connected to Gatsby (Gatsby's her father's cousin) But Gatsby did not go easy on her and he made sure she rightfully earned her place. She quickly found the life of a double agent to be exciting and things got even more exciting for her when Gatsby introduced her to Carlos. She was smitten from the moment she laid her eyes on him. She'd be extremely excited when she was assigned to a mission with Carlos and would rant about it to her close friends. However, her jealousy and short fuse led her to tease any girl who she thought Carlos was interested in. This news reached Gatsby and she was suspended for a few weeks. Gatsby sent her on the mission in Mt. Komorebi in hopes she would redeem herself and act like a proper agent. Let's see how long that would last...

One D&D podcast that gets me interested in playing the game is Of Mice and Men and Monsters (OMAMAM). The Master Teacher is a legit high school English teacher who decided to put her own spin on the game: The different worlds are based off of public-domain classics like Oliver Twist, Frankenstein, and The Great Gatsby. Not only that, but this group helps me see that D&D can be anything you want it to be. So long as you're not using copyrighted properties, you can go on any adventure you’d like.

To be honest, playing D&D in the “structured” way that’s been done since the beginning kind of intimidates me. I'm glad that many others are doing their own thing, such as Quest Friends, another TTRPG podcast. The only aspect I find most difficult now is the roleplaying part. I've never been good at make-believe with anyone other than my twin sibling. I'm always worried I'm going to “do it wrong”. But listening to these podcasts helps me see that you can be as ridiculous as you want.

For example, there was one episode of OMAMAM where the crew had a ceramic jar that the MT didn't think of what the contents would be. So she said, “Seven tiny men--no, I'm kidding! ...Actually, let's go with it. Seven tiny men pop out of the jar!” Another thing she does is let the players describe their Nat 20s...but she also asks them to describe the epic fails their Nat 1s give them. It's so colorful and descriptive, and it really proves that the only way it's a wrong answer is if the characters aren't within a certain distance of the monsters.

TL;DR: I'm more interested in D&D than I was before, and I have Spotify podcasts to thank for that.

chuck never sings, but often it's set up like he's about to. there's a lighting change, a swell of music. and he opens his mouth --- and always gets cut off.

ok so I have watched Riverdale and I have Thoughts about the bones of a gossip girl Riverdale AU but not necessarily about the plot. (GG was one of the first things to premiere after the rebrand from the WB (beat only by a show that lasted 8 episodes) and Riverdale is the last thing to go before it becomes a more "adult oriented" channel so it's fascinating to compare the 2)

Riverdale has a reputation for being "oh crazy weird show!!" (earned) but like... despite the escalating drama, the characters aren't really allowed to grow or change (or be fleshed out at all) they stay more or less the same one dimensional stereotypes for seasons 1-6 (season 7 is an alternate timeline it's a whole thing.) like I genuinely cannot place the plot of each season in order bc the characters aren't allowed to be affected by their experiences

(which is also exemplified by having them stay in high school forever, as opposed to the GG route of having them ignore their educations and pretend to be adults)

(I could go on a tangent here about how TV has gotten more serialized as technology develops. like early TV you watched when you could and things went into syndication so you had to be able to watch any episode out of context. but with streaming everything is binged. so stories can take multiple episodes and characters can change)

but GG and Riverdale arent streaming shows so the characters stay perpetually stuck in these cycles of Big Stories that Take Time but characters don't grow

we could also talk about narration and the story within the story. bc Riverdale is presented as a book that jughead is writing about his friends and gossip girl is being told to us by Dan (who also ends up writing a book about his friends.) the dark underbelly if Riverdale is the focus of the show vs the UES being more and more idealized as the show goes on

BUT!! I do also have plot thoughts!!!!

starting with the obvious. Riverdale stole the Derena/Rufly/Scott Rosson thing! but they took it a step further by having both couples dating, living in the same house, and having the love child move in! (then they revealed the guy who moved in wasn't their son at all but an imposter (and a serial killer! don't worry he marries the real illegitimate son!) Gossip Girl should've done this

Blair would start a cult predicated on her being the reincarnation of Audrey Hepburn. Serena (the most cult susceptible) would be a full fledged believer and a recruiter until she and Blair had that same fight about attention they always do then Serena would team up with recent-cult-escapee Jenny to take her down

Chuck would get involved with Carter Baizen's dog fighting ring for 2 episodes, but stop when he gets yelled at by his mom's ghost while high on psychedelics he got from Nate's drug dealer. a season later Chuck would do a seance and have the ghosts of his parents possess Jenny and Eric and force them to get married in some convoluted scheme to tax insurance fraud. they would stay possessed until Jonathan (upset Eric dumped him over text) showed up at the penthouse and was like "this is clearly not jenny and Eric" but nobody believes him so he has to exorcise them himself with a song (Riverdale would stop episodes for 3 minutes at a time so characters could sing, so be glad this song moves the plot forward)

Vanessa, while making a documentary, stumbles upon a society of mole men who hold her hostage bc she knows their secret. they let her send Dan a letter and she uses a secret code they made as kids to tell him where she is. he goes to rescue her but in the time it took she became queen of the mole people and now needs to be convinced to come home (again through song)

Nate is descended from serial killer HH Holmes. he Googles if that can be genetic and that's how we learn about the serial killer gene. he's relieved he doesn't have it but he makes all his friends do the DNA test and falls into a guilt spiral when it turns out that Serena does (she doesn't really care)

Dan, doing research for his book, finds out Lily had a girlfriend in highschool that she lost touch with, and reaches out to her. said girlfriend initially refuses to appear but changes her mind and arrives the night before the rufly wedding and tells drunkenly Nate the story of the body she and Lily hid one night. Nate (in the middle of his guilt spiral) tells Serena this story in an effort to get her to see the the effects of the serial killer gene

Rufus spends the entire show making waffles and getting divorced

A produvtibe yet simultaneouslt unproductive day. I finished basciallt everything but the IMPORTANT STUFF because I put those at the end of the schedule and after all the inevitable disruptions to the ideal schedule and of course considering it was an ambitious schedule, I didn’t finish those. Finished up an essay task late instead of in the afternoon because ai procrastinated a lot. But I had 5h of work done and the entire week amounts to over 20h ehich is remarkable and I am not on task with thing sso overall I am proud of myself. Excited for the coming week ahead.

Today’s positivity was the monkey bars. and heavenly bread again oh and Finding this book based off gatsby which I didn’t realise would absolutely pick up on the gay subtext between Nick and Gatsby and I am LIVING FOR IT. Excited and I am getting back into mt reading drive. My getting my shit together time is now guys its happening and I am proud of myself for getting on it successfully 😁😁

I went to see the great gatsby on Broadway I'm a big theater nerd so I kinda was just trying to rant but voice typing doesn't like me.

So I feel like if malon and time brought the chain to see the great gatsby time would kinda be like an air port dad but...city like? Like "do you have your tickets? Is that alcohol free? What if that fell down? Legend why do yoy like this jeremy jordan? We're is the parking malon! Why are people cursing to much" like that

Mean while malon is amazed at what the city looks like she is in awe like "why is the buildings so tall? I think that person waved at me" she is like a kid but she also is keeping an eye on hyrule and wild to make sure they're not running off. Four is just holding malons hand.

Legend is the whole reason their there because he has been dying to see jeremy jordan and eva noblezada on Broadway so both of them in one play? Kill two birds with one stone. Legend is giddy the whole time but like it's not obvious Maybe only to hyrule.

Wind hyrule and wild are like "Oh what's that? Can I touch it? Look shiny! What does that say" their running away giving time a panic attack. Twilight has a literal leash on the three of them.

Twilight and sky are just talking about school and their lovers. Well warriors will add a comment here or there.

Once their in the theater.

Legend is just like star struck when he see jeremy and eva on the stage. Like malon has to physically shut his jaw.

Malon is enjoying the show she likes how it is in the 1920s but she had been close to hitting time four time already because he had no clue what Is happening he is not following anything. Like time mind is just wrecked theirs lights on but no one is home.

Warriors wants to know how they all do their make up that's the only thing he cares about he doesn't care about the drama even though you would think he does all you hear from him is "I gotta ask how they did their make up"

Sky passed out the first five minutes of the show.

Twilight is trying his best not to choke wild because wild hasn't shut up from the beginning of the play he is making refrances and all that.

In the play their is a a sex sence that happens and malon would be like "wars! Cover winds ears and eyes!" In panic

legend Is trying not to laugh at malons panic but he is also covering hyrules eyes but is very in vested.

Four is unfazed by aby of the show.

Then for Mt second rambled I was trying to talk about what Broadway shows I think would fit each linked Universe character.

Like for time either Westside story or the notebook book.

I feel like for warriors newsies or mama mai but like if he was a newises boy he would act out katherine.

I feel like legend would either fit six dear evan hanson or the great gatsby just because it fits him so well or bonnie and clyde.

Wind is the greatest showman or high-school musical.

Wild and twilight I feel like are a bit of descendents but also a bit of Westside story.

Four is hamilton just with all the different personality's.

Hyrule i feel like Cinderella.

Sky I feel like he would a mix of newsies or the waitress because he would just relate with it with sun.

Legend being a theatre nerd that drags the whole family down to see his favorite actor (Jeremy Jordan, heck yeah!) is something I love, and while I've never seen that musical, I'll bet he's loving the whole thing!

The oldest three just chilling and chatting while corralling the rest is gold to me LOL

Hevane help the whole theatre if Time and Wild are sitting next to each other, or worse, with Twi between them. they're both so lost and chatty, and Twi just wants to watch the musical! I'll bet food is the only way to shut them up, and he's plying them both with it so he can hear at least some of what's happening.

The whole family starts slapping each other in the face when things get R Rated. How they missed that while buying tickets, they're not sure, but apparently amidst all his fussing, Time forgot to actually look up anything about the play, just the theatre, the town, the roads, and everything else LOL.

I honestly have no clue which musicals best suit the boys, and have only seen a few, but I love the thoughts you had, at least as far as the ones I actually recognize!

MY WORST SIM NIGHTMARE JUST HAPPENED!

So as I was getting ready to narrate the next part of Kaori's story, I came to the dreadful realization... My screenshots weren't saving! So all I was preparing was for nothing! Well, good thing I am a writer. I'm not gonna leave y'all hanging. Good news is I was able to find the last two shots I took before closing the game. So those two will be used as the cover of this chapter (or part or whatever you want to call it) With that being out of the way, I will go ahead and write the story out for you all.

Part Nine: Face to face

As the girls arrived at the charter, they couldn't help but feel uneasy about the amount of security that was there.

Amani: Whoa. This is a lot of people..

Siddhartha: I know. You'd think the president is coming over. Are the Itos REALLY that wealthy.

Kaori stays silent.

Amani: Oh look, there's agent Morales.

Kaori quickly throws on her shades.

Siddhartha: Amor, don't be ridiculous. I'm sure he'll barely say anything about it. You're fine.

Amani: Who's that chick beside him??

They all look at the brunette standing next to Carlos.

Siddhartha: That's agent Deaton. She's a DDA too.

Kaori : Oh cool.

They showed their badges and headed onward to where the jets were supposed to land. The girls were idly waiting. Kaori couldn't help but feel a twinge of anxiety. She knew Gatsby had sent Carlos to especially watch over her. But would she really be able to hold it in??

Kaori (Come on, Kaori. Pull yourself together!!!)

Morales : Agent Nishidake.

She looked up and saw Carlos looking at her.

Kaori : Agent Morales... A pleasure to meet you.

Carlos: Likewise...

*awkward silence*

Carlos: Gatsby would like to talk to you privately later. Be on the lookout for his phone call.

Kaori : I see.

**AN HOUR LATER**

After what felt like a forever wait, the first plane had landed and everyone began to adjust themselves.

When the doors to the plane opened, Nanami stepped out. She looked around and took a deep breath before descending the steps.

Nanami: Home at long last…

She looked around and smiled politely before Agent Morales walked up to her.

Morales: Welcome back, Ms. Ito. I hope your flight wasn't too much trouble.

Nanami: Hi. Is my brother here yet?

Morales: Your brother will be landing shortly.

Nanami: Can I wait here and see him? I haven’t seen him in forever.

Agent Grant walks up to her.

Grant: Ms. Ito, we are under strict rules to bring you home as soon as you land.

Nanami: But my brother -

Grant: I can assure you you'll see him once he gets home. Your ride is waiting for you. Agent Santiago and I will be riding home with you.

Nanami sighs, disappointed that she doesn't get to see Kiyoshi until he gets home. She reluctantly went into the car. Her luggage was put behind and the driver drove them to the Ito residence.

Kaori watched as she was led away to the car. Nanami looked more proper, was more polite and reserved. She had also grown to be just as beautiful as her mother. Kaori remembered just how much of a kleptomaniac she was when she was a kid. Looking at her now, she was sure she had grown past that phase.

A few minutes had passed and the other plane landed. Kaori could feel her heart racing. When the door opened, there he was… He looked even more handsome than she remembered. He had cut his hair, looked a lot more fit, taller… He walked down the steps of the plane and looked around before sighing..

Kiyoshi: Show off..

Kaori could not bring herself to move. She just stared as he made his way down the stairs. Agent Morales looked at her before nudging her.

Morales: Agent Nishidake.

Kaori looked over at Carlos.

Morales: Are you sure you can do this?

Kaori: I’m not a child. Yes, I can do this.

Agent Morales walked up to Kiyoshi.

Morales: Welcome back to Mt. Komorebi, Mr Ito..

Kiyoshi: Thank you.

Morales: I am Agent Morales. Agent Deaton and I will be escorting you back.

Kiyoshi nodded. He picked up a backpack and threw it over his shoulder. He walked toward the limo, though he noticed Kaori standing there, he couldn't recognize her because she was wearing shades. Kaori entered the Range Rover and at Carlos'signal, all dove to the Ito residence.
