Another option for why depends on how wet the ground got before the hurricane passed over it.

It's really rare, but there can be a brown ocean effect, where due to moisture in the ground a cyclone/hurricane can sustain itself, or even become stronger, over wet ground. Especially if heat is released.

It may not be why this happened for hurricane Helene. I'm not a meterologist, or someone who knows a lot about this. But it's likely to get more common for tropical/ semi tropical areas to 1. Have moisture in the ground during hurricane/cyclone/typhoon season, and 2. Get hotter during hurricane/cyclone/typhoon season.

So stronger cyclones hurricane and typhoons are going to be a common experience, probably gonna go more often above cancer and below capricorn due to climate change, and they're probably gonna get further in land before they fizzle out.

Mom is showing me drone footage of the damage in Western North Carolina and Im looking over my photos of the trip we took 3 years ago to the places where Mamaw grew up, and it's surreal. The road up to our cabin was destroyed in a landslide. Surprisingly as someone na mabilis maglakad, madalas ako mahuli maglakad dito. Natutunan ko rin sa trip na 'to na it's okay to take the pace how you need it

Napa-practice ko yung diskarte side ko to conquer yung mga dinadaanan at the same time making sure na safe yung tatapakan mo hindi pwedeng basta risk lang or else, mababagok ka HAHA mejo oa

Walang makausap kasi hindi ko alam, baka walang bandwidth 'yung mga tao. Baka matrigger pa sila or anupaman. Disappointing din ang search for new friends—mukhang wholesome pero hookup pala ang nais. Mas nakakabwisit kasi pinag-aksayahan pa ng effort, hindi na lang agad ipakita ang tunay na kulay. Nakakaumay. Hahahaha. Saan kaya makakahanap ng matinong friends?

Okay naman mga tao sa gym pero ayaw ko rin silang istorbohin. Virtual buddies lang. Parang sa tumblr. Alam lang naming nag-eexist ang isa't isa.

Nabobore nanaman ako sa work. Feeling ko tapos na akong mag-"play" ng role. Nataon pa nga na dumating 'yung offer na magbarko. Kaso ang laking jump kasi, from my cushy comfy daily life, andito 'yung potential to earn more pero anlaki rin ng risk.

Hindi naman ako sobrang sobrang bothered pero dahil pawala na ako sa kalendaryo eh gusto ko nang dumami ang sources ng income. Feeling ko, g na ako mag-explore ng new horizons sa work or baka naman gaya ng sabi ng isang recruiter, wala raw direksyon 'yung CV ko. Hahahaha.

Recently, nagpapahinga lang talaga ako saka nagtitingin ng mga tour or hike. Mt. Pulag, 'yung Avatar thing, Puning, at kung ano pa man ang mayroon. Hindi na ako as bothered compared dati na I have no one to share these things, experiences, and memories with. Ganu'n lang talaga ang life.

Lecheng hookup 'yan at mga kalaswaan, sana magkatagpuan na lang 'yung mga pare-parehas ng hinahanap at sana lubayan na nila 'yung mga kagaya kong wala namang interest.

We meet again, Bohol!

As beautiful as the Philippines is, many destinations offer mostly sand and surf. But not Bohol. This province is known for unique attractions that you can’t find anywhere else in the Philippines.

Sure, other islands in the Philippines are worth recommending, too, but most boast one or two of the following — white beaches, incredible sites, diverse wildlife, interesting history. Bohol has them all. From wild encounters with dolphins and tarsiers to the incomparable views of the Chocolate Hills, Bohol is a province that is easy to promote. It doesn’t need much sales talk.

We stayed at Coastal View in Panglao, then we transferred to On Board Beach Hostel and Resort for some quiet alone time near the beach. The wedding was at South Palms Resort, and I can attest that this is probably the most exquisite hotel here, next to Bohol Beach Club.

I was tasked with the daunting task of speaking in front of everyone. I wasn't really prepared to cry, so I let the "funny" me take over. Let me share to you guys my speech during the wedding.

Nung sinabi nila na magssppeech ako, siyempre napressure ako kasi hello 'di ko naman sila close? Ano sasabihin ko dito? Jk. Haha 

Okay kidding aside, sige maybe I'll just start ho I met the bride and the groom. Tagalog yung speech ko so pasensya na. To our foreigner friends, welcome to the Philippines. Haha.

Si brux and karla orgmates ko from UP travel society. Hindi ko din alam paano nabuo yung barkadahan namin, pero I guess we all just clicked and nagkakaayaan na lang kumain, gumala, tumambay ganyan, and the rest was history. So kwentuhan ko na lang kayo muna ng mga misadventures namin para may pulot naman kayo sa speech ko. Haha.

Sa mga travel namin, si karla isa sa mga main organizer, tapos si brux ang aming walking calculator. Sa tamad naming magcompute, si brux na bahala sa hatian, feel namin nagogoyo kami minsan, pero okay lang kasi wala naman kami nung math skills niya. Haha. 

Nung nasa adventurous era pa kami, ang bonding namin ay umakyat ng bundok. Nagbuwis buhay trip kami sa Mt. pamitinan, tapos nagpapicture sa crater ng Taal, nakiparty sa Malasimbo sa Puerto Galera with hindi namin kilala, nagbackpacking kami 8 days sa Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand na natutulog sa bus dala bagahe, kumain ng scorpion at tarantula, kumain ng happy pizza, nagtemple hopping sa Angkor Wat at sa mga temples sa Thailand, tapos nag 8 days din kami sa Bali, Indonesia ewan ko din paano namin napupull off pero napakadami naming pinupuntahan tapos wala ako sa organizing committee so ang ambag ko talaga ay chumika at magpicture. Haha.

pero sa mga local travel namin, dalawa yung pinaka favorite ko: yung 1) Siargao at yung 2) South cotabato. Yung siargao kasi grabe talaga yun gabi-gabi kami lasing as in tumatakbo kami nina karla sa kalsada tapos hinahabol kami nina brux. Haha. Dun ko din naranasan maghanap ng GoPro sa dagat ng nakaflashlight lang kasi nalaglag nung nagsurfing kami. Grabe talaga yun. Nung South Cotabato naman, natry namin yung highest zipline in the South East Asia, may nadaanan kaming apat na waterfalls ganun kataas. Tapos ang dami naming change costume nag T'boli traditional costume kami, tapos nag abaya and hijab kami nung pumunta kaming Grand Mosque. Very dubai ganon. Haha.

Favorite memory ko sa kanila ay every travel namin, nagsusulatan sila ng postcards. Sabi ko grabe couple goals. Indeed a matchmake in heaven walang distance distance. They will really make way to communicate, and show their love for each other. The yin to each other's yang.

So medyo ang haba na no? haha so summary and summary? Haha. Nakita ko silang nag grow, both literally and figuratively. As in kung may masasabi akong couple na tested by time and distance ay sila talaga iyon. Proud na proud ako tbh na nakakakilala ako ng mga taong kasing galing niyo. sobrang supportive niyong friends, sweet, thoughtful, funny, smart, witty, amazing lahat na. In between those laughters, I know genuine love is there. Sobrang happy ko na nagkatuluyan kayo, and from day 1, alam kong kayo na talaga. I know madaming taon taon pa tayong pagsasamahan, at andito lang kami para sa inyo. Congratulations, Karla and Brux, and i only hope the best for you both. Mahal na mahal ko kayo 💕

We made it!

Hanggang ngayon parang di parin ako makapaniwala kung paano ako nakaakyat at nakababa ng bundok na 'to despite sa weather.

First time ko mag commute pa Manila mag-isa since doon ang pickup point at dito palang nagdadalawang isip na ako kung itutuloy ko pa. I know malayo ang pickup point sa lugar ko pero pinush ko nalang din. Main plan ko talaga, Dau-Cubao terminal then mag grab or angkas/joyride nalang to Greenfield. Mabuti nalang at pinapasabay na ako ni Kuya Jarvs (nakasama ko sa prev hike) from Cubao terminal tas nag MRT papuntang Greenfield at nakatipid pa.

While naghihintay kami dun sa food truck fest, may pa live band or basta accoustic na sobrang napapa chill yung lugar at sobrang natuwa na naman ako tas andami ding food. Then after isang oras ata, biglang may fireworks sa kabila. Hindi ko alam kung yun ba yung sa pyromusical na balak ko din sana puntahan na nagbalak bumili ticket kasi 11pm pa pickup time so mahaba yung paghihintay ko. Para sana masulit yung pag cocommute ko sa Manila hahaha. Pero hindi ko na tinuloy kasi baka matraffic ako at di makabalik ng 11pm sa pickup point. Kaya nung may live band tas fireworks narin, inisip ko nalang if ma cancel man yung hike namin, okay na ako magstay muna dito. Di na rin ako uuwi ng Pampanga na malungkot.

Medyo ambon lang naman the entire night sa Manila hanggang sa pag byahe na at okay naman daw ang weather sa Batangas. Around 4:30am ata kami nag start na ng trekking at medyo umaambon lang. Bumili na ako ng raincoat at gloves sa jump off para ready na. Wala akong headlamp so nakikisingit nalang talaga ako sa mga may flashlight hanggang sa di ko namalayan nauuna na pala ako sa kanila, sumusunod na ako sa tour guide. Hahaha

Noong nasa bundok na talaga kami, as in parang zero visibility at puro fog lang nakikita tapos mahangin lang ng konte. Noong nasa kalagitnaan na, medyo kitang kita na talaga yung fog kapag titingin ka sa baba hanggang sa'min. Sobrang na amaze lang ako dahil kakaiba 'to eh, ang gandang tignan, napapa wow parin talaga ako. Hanggang sa medyo napapalakas na yung hangin dahil pataas na rin kami ng pataas sa bundok. There's a time na talagang nag stop ako sa trail dahil bangin talaga tapos parang hindi ko mabalance sarili ko sa hangin. If tutuloy ko lakad, baka malaglag na ako. So nung kumalma na yung hangin, tuloy na.

Bale may 12 peaks yung Mt. Batulao at start ata ng peak 8 or 10, andun na yung gagapang kana sa medyo mabato, paakyat na talaga, tapos puro lubid na aalalay paakyat lalo na nung malapit na sa summit. Di ko na talaga maisipang mag cellphone, mag picture/video and all dahil as in focus ako sa trail. Yung vid na umaakyat uploaded here ay galing kay beb Riana. Sya din nagpilit sakin na magpicture kami nung pababa na at naka chikahan ko sya since solo joiner din pala sya.

Around 7am or so nasa summit na kami at solid bigla yung lakas ng hangin at buhos ng ulan. Although pabugso bugso yung ulan pero yung hangin tapos sobrang foggy parin ay solid talaga. Hinintay nalang namin yung iba maka akyat tapos group picture tas bumaba na rin. Sa pagbaba doon na talaga sobrang maulan tapos ang hirap sa part ko na nagsasalamin dahil basang basa at hirap na ako makakita. Kung tatanggalin ko naman, mas lalo akong mahirapan. Hahaha. Pero push parin talaga. Sobrang dulas na nung pababa namin at dun na ako talaga nadulas sa may lubid na part.

Nag side trip lang kami sa Tagaytay for early lunch at deserve na deserve namin ng bulalo after hike. Hahahaha sobrang pawi na yung pagod. Mga 3:30pm nakabalik na ng Manila so nag book nalang ako ng grab pa Cubao terminal since umuulan na rin. Another 2+ hours byahe pa hanggang makauwi pero noong nakita ko na yung singnage na Dau terminal, hayyyy ang saya dahil sa wakas ito na. Hahahaha. Ikaw parin ang aking pahinga Pampanga after sa nakakapagod na pahinga! 😆

Sobrang thankful ako sa experience na 'to dahil sobrang nag enjoy parin ako. Yung challenges talaga kasi na akala ko di ko kaya lagpasan ay nagawa ko. Kung noong sa Benguet hike ako nasabi ko ay "Mas masakit pa pala 'to sa breakup", kahapon naman ang nasabi ko while pababa kami ay "Feeling ko after neto, parang kayang kaya ko na lagpasan lahat ng dadating na problema". ✨
