The way Juuzou sees parental figures is very much skewed given the abuse he suffered at the hands of Big Madam. So, once he associates Shinohara with a father figure (which is even further drilled into him by Mrs Shinohara telling him that Yukinori saw him as a son), even though Shinohara was kind to Juuzou in a way Big Madam wasn't, he approaches the situation the same way, giving him a seemingly morally correct yet violent goal to pursue. Juuzou recognizes Big Madam hurt him and loves her regardless, but even with that realization, he's still playing his puppet role.

Juuzou is still just a weapon.

While as a child he obeyed every order Big Madam gave him, as an adult he obeys every order he's given by the CCG higher ups BECAUSE he thinks that's what Shinohara, his supposed father figure, would want. He thinks that he's supposed to BECOME Shinohara just because Shinohara showed him kindness.

He can't make decisions for himself, because he's never been allowed to, so he doesn't know how. Once he was out of Big Madam's control, he was forced to re-live his trauma by killing again, just because killing ghouls is considered "morally acceptable".

Even though it may not seem like it at first glance, letting him channel his violence the same way he did when he used to be a scrapper, RETRAUMATIZES him.

So even though he gets better and develops empathy (In the Joker chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:re, he stops a girl from being groped on the train because he's been through it as well.) and care (for Shinohara and his own subordinates who seem to trust him a lot), at his core he's still the same traumatized Juuzou; That much is obvious in the way he approaches his rematch with Kurona, demonstrating that he's changed but not completely, because he's willing to kill his friend Sasaki without much thought just because he was told to, and in saying that he smiles the same smile he'd given Big Madam.

Juuzou associates parents with control, and that includes Shinohara, which breaks my heart! So once Shinohara wakes up they seriously need to talk so he can unlearn some of that😭

I haven't finished Tokyo Ghoul:re yet but I already know the ending is rushed and doesn't show anything like that.

I wish Juuzou's character arc included him learning to decide for himself rather than just going along with what everyone says. It's unlikely for him to fully ever recover from his trauma, but that would've been a massive step forward.

[I know I didn't say anything that hasn't been said before, but this is just a way for me to metabolize the chapter I just read, because it makes sense but it still upsets me greatly. As someone else put it, Juuzou's character arcs stagnates in :re. There's still 80 chapters or so for me to read and I kinda lost interest because I'm not liking this one eyed king kaneki making shitty decisions thing. The fact there's only like 4 Juuzou fics makes me wanna kms!!]

Não se sabe ao certo quando, mas em menos de um ano a usina foi reativada e em 1999 foi centro de um trágico acidente.

Este segundo acidente abrange mais informações e até hoje é pauta de pessoas interessadas no assunto. Isso porque neste acidente um homem foi exposto a quantidades massivas de radiação, sendo o homem que mais recebeu radiação no mundo.

Tokaimura 2 - 30 de setembro de 1999

Esse acidente foi resultado do próprio erro humano, ao infligir regras de segurança. Levou a morte de duas pessoas, internação de dezenas e centenas contaminas.

No dia 30 de setembro de 1999, três trabalhadores estavam pressionados por prazos. A fim de concluir as metas de produção, os trabalhadores ignoraram as regras de segurança e não seguiram o procedimento padrão. Em vez de usar a quantidade máxima de 2,3 kg, usaram 16 kg de urânio. Depois manipularam o combustível de urânio enriquecido de forma errada, usando baldes de aço inoxidável e transferindo o material diretamente para um tanque de precipitação, sem o controle necessário. O urânio que estavam processando tinha um nível de enriquecimento de 18,8%, muito acima do que estavam acostumados a lidar, aumentando significativamente o risco de uma criticidade, pois é o ponto em que a reação nuclear se torna autossustentável, ou seja, não necessita mais de energia externa para continuar.

Às 10:35hrs daquela manhã, uma reação foi desencadeada, com um clarão azul que indicava a liberação de radiação. O então prefeito de Ibaraki, onde fica Tokai, teria anunciado que a reação nuclear parou em poucas horas depois, mas a reação nuclear descontrolada durou cerca de 20 horas e só parou porque liberou todo o material radioativo. Os três trabalhadores foram expostas a quantidades massivas de radiação. Veja:

HISASHI OUCHI - Aviso de cenas fortes!

Hisashi Ouchi, de 35 anos, funcionário da usina teria sido exposto a 17 sierverts que equivale ao dobro da quantidade considerada letal. Rapidamente apresentou febre, diarréia, vômitos e queimaduras. Teria sido o homem que foi exposto a maior quantidade de radiação no mundo. Ouchi viveu um verdadeiro inferno na Terra, porque após ter sido exposto a essa quantidade excessiva de radiação, sobreviveu, forçadamente, por oitenta e três dias.

Ele foi levado ao hospital embrulhado em plástico. Ao chegar no local, Ouchi ainda possuía certa consciência e até mesmo conversava com os médicos, segundo relatos enquanto ainda possuía consciência, constantemente pedia para morrer. O homem ao longo do tempo perdeu quase todos os seu cromossomos e glóbulos brancos do sangue, teve seu corpo inteiramente queimado de fora para dentro, e sua carne morrendo de dentro para fora, ele perdeu partes do corpo incluindo seus órgãos internos, Ouchi ficou inteiramente deformado. Hoje o rosto de Hisashi Ouchi é símbolo do perigo de acidentes radioativos.

MASATO SHINOHARA

Shinohara recebeu uma dose de cerca de 10 siervets. E morreu de forma igualmente brutal em abril de 2000. O declínio físico de Shinohara não foi tão meticulosamente registrado quanto o de Ouchi. Mas a camada externa de sua pele deslocou-se de 70% de seu corpo, e seu corpo desligou na mesma sequência que o de Ouchi. Ele viveu por 210 dias após o acidente, até sucumbir à pneumonia por MRS em 27 de abril de 2000 e morrer por falência múltipla de órgãos.

YUKATA YOKOKAWA

Yokokawa recebeu cerca de 3 sivierts e enfrentou longos meses de internação, mas sobreviveu. Mais tarde foi acusado de negligência por seu papel no acidente. Mas é importante destacar que a culpa do acidente não é exclusivamente dos três funcionários. Eles fizeram isso a fim de cumprir prazos impostos pelo gerente da empresa, prazos esses dos quais foram pressionados a cumprir. Além disso tendo utilizados capacidades de urânio tão acima da máxima, isso indica que eles não sabiam do verdadeiro risco. O que mostra o quanto estavam desqualificados para trabalhar nesta área, assim como a gerência da usina não se preocupou em treinar e garantir a segurança de seus funcionários.

Hoje não se acha informações sobre o paradeiro de Yokokawa, não se sabe se ele ainda está vivo ou se está morto, se está preso ou em liberdade.

RADIAÇÃO:

Além dos trabalhadores diretamente atingidos, estima-se que houve ao todo 27 feridos, entre eles, a maioria chegou a ser internada, mas felizmente sobreviveram.

60 pessoas que residiam em um raio de 350 metros foram retiradas de suas casas. E mais de 300 mil pessoas em um raio de 10 km foram orientadas a ficar em casa. O governo ainda as aconselhou a não colher hortaliças da região e a lavar capas, guarda-chuvas e outros materiais que tivessem sido molhados. Isso porque logo após a tragédia houve ainda um forte chuva e a água poderia estar contaminada. A chuva também teria prejudicado a dissipação da radioatividade.

Poucos dias depois mais de 10 mil residentes da área ao redor da usina foram examinados para verificar a contaminação por radiação, e cerca de 700 pessoas tinham sido expostas a doses perigosas. Porém não houve mais mortes causadas por radiação registradas.

As autoridades japonesas classificaram o acidente como nível 4 na escala de eventos nucleares da Agência Internacional de Energia Atômica (IAEA).

Ao que se sabe o governo do Japão alegou que o acidente era um problema regional e não mundial. E negou ajuda internacional.

COMO TOKAIMURA ESTA ATUALMENTE?

Não há muitas informações sobre o que aconteceu depois do acidente, o que se sabe é que ele resultou em:

-Prisão de seis funcionários da usina, incluindo o ex-gerente e o vice-gerente;

-Pagamento de mais de 120 milhões de dólares para compensar cerca de 7000 pessoas e também empresas afetadas;

-Cancelamento das credenciais de operação da usina por parte da STA, tornando-a a primeira planta nuclear japonesa a ser punida por lei por mau manuseio de radiação nuclear;

-Resignação do presidente da empresa.

Tudo o que se sabe são algumas informações sobre a aldeia de Tokai. Atualmente ele é habitada, em 1º de julho de 2020, a aldeia tinha uma população estimada de 37.651 pessoas em 15.148 domicílios e uma densidade populacional de 991 pessoas por quilômetro quadrado. A área total da vila é de 38 quilômetros quadrados. A Agência de Energia Atômica do Japão, juntamente com outras organizações, opera atualmente várias instalações de pesquisa de tecnologia nuclear na cidade.
