My funniest Dragon Ball headcanon is that Mr. Satan is actually an extremely talented martial artist and became Tenkaichi Budokai champion 100% legitimagely, he's just a bragadocious jerk and looks like a punk next to the ludicrous power scale of the characters the story actually follows.

Spent yesterday in Little Tokyo and as always sought Dragon Ball merch!

Lost my composure running into this machine as I’ve been wanting that Yamcha. Tried it twice- got Goku both times. Well, there’s always ebay.

Blind bags are my addiction so I picked up these-

Okay this is adorable and I should have grabbed more.

The package said coasters? They’re shiny cardboard and look like they’re supposed to be used for a rock paper scissors type game.

Also bought some sticker wafers, DB and Sand Land.

Also! I feel like people can be a bit too mean about Hercule sometimes (because okay. the bit about claiming ki techniques as tricks is one thing, and like. I get where people come from in him taking the credit for Cell but also come on. Gohan would not want to be famous pls) AND I feel like the presence of animal people and other weird stuff on earth drops off as the series progresses, which out of universe is because of the change in tone but in universe is like. That has implications.

So. Concept of Hercule as yes, a bit (or a lot of) a glory hound and a showboat but also as someone who uses that influence to, like, champion the rights for the various non-human sapient Earthlings particularly as they start to get pushed to the sidelines of urbanization. (And, you know, given I make the Ox King an actual ruler in my au, and I have the Ox Kingdom as one of the larger/more prominent kingdoms with the rare majority of non-human sapients, also potential for earlier interaction between Gohan and Videl <3)

Thoughts On The New Series

Well, a lot of what I heard was accurate, but there were a few surprises in there. Seeing some of these characters as kids for the first time is WILD though.

We get to see Kid 18 and, for the first time, BABY MARRON!

Poor Krillin can't stop shrinking.

Best DBZ Fights #5

Goku, Vegeta, Mr. Satan & Mr. Buu vs. Kid Buu

Manga: Chapters 315 - 322, Volume 26 Anime: Episodes 279 - 286 (Kai: 158 - 164)

The final battle in Dragon Ball Z transpires on the World of the Kais. Kid Buu is a force of pure, chaotic evil, and so it's only fitting that the battle against him be just as chaotic, with fighters on the heroes' side switching in and out while wishes are being granted on the Namekian Dragon Balls and then energy needs to be gathered from the newly restored population of Earth for a Spirit Bomb, with Mr. Satan of all people coming in to save the day on multiple fronts (causing Mr. Buu to be restored, getting the people of Earth to lend their energy to the Spirit Bomb, and rescuing an unconscious Vegeta when he's caught in the Spirit Bomb's path.) It keeps you guessing even to the end, when Kid Buu actually begins pushing the Spirit Bomb back, and it taking the by-that-point forgotten final wish on the Namekian Dragon Balls to restore Goku's strength and have him overcome Kid Buu's power and finish him off once and for all. The only downsides are that Kid Buu is kind of a bland fighter and I would have much preferred Gohan been in Goku's place with the Spirit Bomb.

I just thought of something crazy for that whole "choose your option" thing in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero's story mode. What if during the Buu saga, one of the options you have to decide between is saving Mr. Satan, Bee, and Dende, or saving Gohan and the others? LMAOOO THAT WOULD GO CRAZY IF THAT'S A PLOT POINT SPLIT Having the whole squad there to fight Majin Buu would be amazing, but then again... idk if I'd have it in my heart to have Mr. Satan, Bee and Dende bite it, like they didn't do anything wrong trying to survive lmao. If that actually ends up being a thing, that's going to be nuts, but I'm sure my heart would be conflicted on what to do lmao.

It is ironic how Chi-Chi does not see the value in martial arts, but it was most likely the Goku vs Piccolo fight, which boosted the popularity (and probably attracted investment from sponsors interested in the spectacle provided by Goku and Piccolo's fight) to the Tenkaichi Budōkai event. In the next edition, Mr. Satan won, giving him prominence and fame and making him a worldwide celebrity, allowing him to become very rich.
