I forgot to post this but I made a fan script for Nexus for fun using my Nexus sona! I really enjoyed writing it, especially because there is a bit of lore behind my sona Illian in there.

I wanted to explore a bit more the process of being turned into a vampire and how it affects someones life and loved ones, so enjoy!

Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend. — Not really an imaginary friend, but I guess I could count my daydreams of myself as a fairy princess when I was a kid? So charming and pretty and powerful as hell, getting the hearts of those fictional character I loved at that time

What is your go-to way to fall asleep? — Always lying on the side, my back facing the wall. I try to sleep on my back but it's not working so far, other than these, I need complete darkness and quiet, bcs I get stiff when I hear a noise

If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?) — If there was this name in my country, I would go for Jax or Jaxen, gender neutral and short and has a nice punch to it!

What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why? — Lasko fucking Moore. This guy almost took down the channel, was number one before the purge, keeps breaking stuff even in his apartment, he is just like me fr /hj (Lasko kinnie here) and even lately, I love his development so much, like he will always be my number one (I love other characters too tho!)

What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.) — It's I guess because of how much he is popular? I love Sam, but I sometimes forget how much favorite he is and it always surprised me /lh

Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to. — The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green, I love the dialogues between two characters, which one is kinda always flirty (not in Gavin way, he is like "youre so pretty and your pretty eyes omg") and so chill and happy with the other, who is awkward and doesn't know how to accept compliments and theyre so gay omg

(For example, my boyfriend knows I’m ready to sleep when I start talking about space.) — It depends on the mood while I'm tired, but most of the time, it's my Redacted OCs currently, especially when I'm so tires I can't even type right LMAO

Tell me about your favorite playlist at the moment. — I made it yesterday, but it's all kinds of happy sounding songs and OST without any lyrics and it feels so nice to bop into it

What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why? — Wattpad books,, i wanna get back into reading some, its been years

And whatever else you think tells me about who you are! — I'm libra sign, INFP, I like the nights and sunrises, have many redacted OCs (around 20 of them, i like to play with the kinds of powers and try to mix them and experiment) and I like to text RP! I also currently work on my gaslamp fantasy WIP book(?), I'm undiagnosed neurodivergent (possibly audhd), dyslexic and I also listen to Mr Laveau's Nexus AUDIO RP series (recommending if you like video games sfx and original art) and started listening to DND group The Adventure Zone!

Okay, so you know who I’ve always thought should really be into fantasy and DnD? Asher, and since canon hasn’t yet confirmed he loves these things, you can be his introduction!

The combination of your personality types and your being a writer gives me the image of an emotional and emotionally intelligent person, which I think is a good match for Asher who is also pretty emotionally intelligent! I think your vibes would really match, and together you two could be, like, the heart of the Shaw Pack as the Beta and his mate. Also, Asher is some sort of flavor of neurodivergent, and I love making ND4ND pairs, ya know?

Your life together would be so FUN, I’m actually jealous. I think getting Asher into DnD and games would be such a treat, listening to TAZ together, helping him learn rules and the different systems, maybe putting together a campaign with Angel and Davey because Angel would be a fuckin bomb DM, I feel it in my heart. He’d also be such a lovely partner for a writer. I can very clearly imagine Asher laying his head on your lap, having you read what you’ve written that day aloud to him which functions as both a cute bonding activity but also a way for you to spot-check and edit how it reads.

One, you said you like happy-sounding songs, and I think this is a great one. I love it’s kind of dreamy, high vibe, you know? Two, this came out around 2012, when Asher would have been a teenager, so I like how nostalgic and romantic this song would be for him.

Runner-ups:

For a writer who loves fantasy, OC’s, and roleplay games, Guy is a sure shoe-in for a runner-up! I think he and Asher have a lot of similarities, but I went with Asher because he struck me as a better match for an introvert. For a Lasko kinnie, I had to choose Aaron as another contender because they’re my favorite Redacted rarepair, and I’ve been meaning to write something for that shop for a while.

Year End Review - Fic Edition

I saw @mr-laveau do something similar but with their art, so imma do it with my fics. Really this is just an excuse to show off my favourite fics from 2023, and give a bit of commentary on them. So let's do this. If you want to do something similar go ahead!! I think it's super fun.

Pluto's Top Three

See, normally I despise picking the top three, but this year it is actually pretty easy. I think it's cause there are fewer to choose from, but also there are fics that really stood out to me this year.

1. Who Are You, Really? [NeXus, Cher & Sherlock character study, complete, T, 2547 words]

Out of all of my fics this year this is probably my favourite. It is the first fic of NeXus that I wrote, and it means a whole lot to me. I'm not sure why I like it so much but it probably has something to do with the fact that my first ever NeXus fic came out half decent. I usually have awful writing for the first fic in a new fandom. It also probably has something to do with developing my favourite found family out of that series so far ngl. For this fic I really wanted to focus on developing these two listeners, obviously, but also lay down what I think their relationships are like with the other characters surrounding them.

2. Like Real People Do [Redacted Audio, Sam/Darlin', Imperium AU, T, ongoing, 35018 words]

This is on this list because it is my baby. I have been working on it for so long. I have had an obsession with the au and now I am just determined to finish it. I really wanted to play with the idea of Darlin still being alive in the Imp! and ran with it honestly.

3. Let Me (I Will) [Redacted Audio, Milo/Sweetheart, M, complete, 1988 words]

While this isn't my best-written fic, it certainly is my most sentimental. I wrote this fic at a time when I was injecting my own demisexual identity into Sweetheart. If I could, I would rewrite this fic, but I will definitely be doing similar in the future. Mainly because I want to read fics that speak to me, and share them for those who may also relate.

CW!! Near death experiences are talked about in here, just a heads up!

My Nexus sonas name is Illian Faumuina, he's a bird shifter, specifically a manumea, who's a third generation immigrant from Samoa who was born in California but moved to Texas around the age of 10. He's a trans demi boy who's very passionate about his job and cares deeply for those he loves.

He works professionally as a photographer but has a side gig working with painting scenerys and portraits! He doesn't travel very often but sometimes the company he's working with will fly him out to work events to take pictures, advertise, etc etc.

I also gave Illian his own listener character too who is referred to as Sugarsnap! They're dating and have been together since they were 19, both whom are now in their early 20's. I like to think they met after Illian fell out of a tree trying to take a scenic picture for their portfolio and accidentally fell ontop of Sugarsnap lmao

In the fan script I made for Illian, it talks about how he ended up as a vampire a bit and I wanted to talk more about that situation!

Illian was sent out to New Orleans with a few team members for a big event that the companys sponser was hosting. It's a big thing that comes around every year and Illian was able to attend, it lasts a few days and Illian was supposed to go home the day after the event ended. However, the night he left to his motel he was attacked by one of the Boucharde brothers, specifically Hezekiah. It was a wrong place wrong time type of situation, the area the motel was in wasn't particularly safe and Illian accidentally witnessed him feeding on someone trying to fight back in an alleyway.

Illian isn't someone who can simply stand by and watch something like that go down so he tried to get the person outta there. Though needless to say, he was very unequipped to be fighting a literal bounty hunter.

Illian did almost die if it weren't for Zachary finding him right before Hezekiah disappeared. Zach heard the commotion and tried to find where it was coming from but was met with the aftermath of Illian sobbing and bleeding out pretty badly.

I'm still figuring out the smaller details but I'm thinking Hezekiah accidentally turned them and Zachary was just trying to think fast while panicking a bit before he took him to Uriah and Sherlock for help.

Currently Illian is still trying to navigate as a vampire and has been deemed missing for around 5 weeks before he was able to call his partner Sugarsnap back in Texas.

Illian is trying to make the most of it but being away from his partner and family has him feeling very homesick. Zachary is a great help as a friend and Sherlock and Uriah have both been people Illian looks up to for guidance during all this. One thing that Illian was really scared of happening was Sugarsnaps reaction to them being turned but Zacharys push for him to reach out and talk to them helped him finally make the call.

I'm still working on the minor details but I'll post those when I get an official design for Illian down!

For Mr. Laveau I suggest listening to his NeXus - New Orleans series first or their NeXus - California series, he's a very underrated audio rp channel and is great poly rep too!

For Gav VA I suggest listening to his Starline series, he just started on season 3 of it so there's plenty of stuff to binge listen to! He's more story based but I still really reccomend him as he makes some great stuff.

FUN, I GET TO TALK ABOUT THIS AUDIO!

So first of all, hi love, you're welcome for me hurting your feelings/j/pos

Secondly, hi! I'm Laveau a mixed black person who cares a lot about representation due to my cultural backgrounds and I AM SO GLAD IT HURTS because yeah, that's kind of a peek at what black people have to deal with historically and within our modern society!

Media rep is a funny thing to talk about because it's not always done right whether that be because it's not done at all or it's gone overboard and does not actually feel like representation. Now I won't claim to be a perfect figure of representation...but I am gonna be te bitch who talks about it.

Racism is pretty influential as a theme in the world of NeXus and while it's always fun to see "racism bad, don't do it", I have more fun playing in the space of what racism looks like to actual people and this is one form racism takes. Racism can never just be one thing because of how systematically rooted it is down to the very bones of art as medium of storytelling.

I KID YOU NOT, the idea of the perfect proportions in the body and the face are based on white europeans and it affects people even today because some folks can't draw ethnic facial feature because of how they've been trained to see the human body (in other cases, it's a lack of experience and skill which can be worked on) and I WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT BECAUSE THIS IS MY CHANNEL AND MY STORY AND I DO WHAT I WANT (sorry this topic makes me excited).

Now, most VAs in the ASMR space don't take into consideration how the characters they put on screen affects their viewers but I OVERTHINK IT A LOT, and the decisions behind these character's appearances go deep and I am always learning how to go even deeper in character construction and design to best showcase as many kinds of people that I can.

That said, this is not a common thing for POC to see and I think I should talk about it because of the themes of Uriah's story and specifically how perception of his character is played on narratively. There is so much to be said about how others pecieve him and how she percieves herself, especially as a black person and everyday I am glad I gave my characters designs instead of making most of them ambiguous as designs because fuck do I like people who recognize the themes behind their designs

Thinking about the newest NeXus audio from @mr-laveau (Hi Doll /lh) and how much it hurts my feelings to have such a standard experience shoved back at me.

To have Uriah talking candidly about being denied something as simple as a portrait because of racism. Of being frustrated when he *could* get one because the artists didn't know what to do anyways. So now you're left with trying to be included after being excluded forever or forcing yourself to be included at the expense of not being captured properly.

I know it's a common experience even now. Black characters being drawn poorly. Having their features stripped in favor of something more eurocentric. Skin lightened for "aesthetics". Hair made curly instead of kinky.

So what I'm saying is ow, thanks for hurting my feelings effectively, I'm suing you for emotional damages until I get the time to paint a portrait of Uriah. /lh /pos
