Gender: Both are male.

Numberman's abilities: Dice Bomb, Number Ball, Number Trap, Time Bomb, Number Ruler, Number Check, Dice Bonus.

Background: Once members of WWW, Mr. Higsby and Numberman are now trusted allies of Lan who are go-to guys to find the rarest Battle Chips. Do to how much he travels in order to spread his Battle Chip Shop around the world, Higsby hasn't been seen at ACDC Town as much, but when he is there, Lan can count on him to provide the best chips for MegaMan to use.

After learning about Welch's Item Creation Shop and discovering that she had Battle Chips from different dimensions and timelines, Higsby talked about a way to sell these kinds of chips in his own shop with her. Welch decided to help spread Higsby's shop all across the multiverse, and soon, a partnership between Welch and Higsby has been formed.

With his experience as a member of Team Colonel, Higsby and Numberman are no pushovers when it comes to Net Battling. It helps that they have some rare and powerful Battle Chips at there disposal. With that said, they'll still need to think twice before going up against an opponent as strong as Bass or Rogue.

When Shuko became an employee of the Item Creation Shop, he began to grow fond of the young lady and became a father figure to her. He even taught her everything he knows about rare chips.

Higsby and Mr. Tinker hit it off well when they first met. The two became really good friends. Higsby is learning about robotics, while Mr. Tinker is learning about rare Battle Chips.

Numberman makes calculating battle outcomes a bit easier. Not to mention he's been a big help with economics for the Item Creation Shop.

Question from one battle network fan to another: since I'm aware Claire is inspired by Mr. higsby from MegaMan battle network, and Mr higsby has a prominent role in battle network 5, did you base faith off of colonel's battle network 5 incarnation? Like in battle network 6 they were obviously mentally ill and (imo) dysphoric without iris but battle network 5 colonel has a very similar personality to faith imo. Any other characters inspired by battle network as well?

sorry to disappoint, but claire was not inspired by higsby from battle network at all, aside from the fact that i gave her the same last name. i will say that the spellbook system, as it was originally conceived, was inspired in part by the premade chip folders you sometimes receive in battle network - until i played FF5, and it morphed from preset assortments of arbitrary spells into more of a subclass system with deliberate theming for each spellbook. but beyond that, i wouldn't point to many overt battle network nods in the game, and none of the characters were particularly inspired by anyone from mmbn

About Dark Empress

Abilities: Empress Flash, Empress Control, Empress Slash, Empress Charm, Barrier, Dark Chips (Dark Sword, Dark Bomb, Dark Stage, Dark Recover, Dark Cannon, Dark Lance, Dark Vulcan, Dark Spread, Dark Tornado, Dark Circle, Dark Meteor, Dark Thunder, Dark Sonic, Dark Invisible, Dark Plus, Dark Drill, Dark Wide Shot.)

Background: Not to be confused with the Evil Empress Roll from the anime universe, this version comes from a branching timeline in MegaMan Battle Network 4. Instead of pointing out the Dark Chip to MegaMan, Roll instead keeps it discreetly and shows it to Mayl instead. They both had the same idea as Lan in the canon timeline and show it to Mr. Higsby, who gives them the same warning as he did to Lan and MegaMan. Unfortunately, when Roll was about to be kidnapped by the stalker Navi, she used the Dark Chip to protect herself. At first, the affects were minimal. Roll liked the power, but was still herself. But after constant uses of the Dark Chip during the Eagle Tournament, Roll was getting more and more corrupted by it until she became a full fledged Darkloid. Now terrified of what Roll has become, Mayl couldn't accept a Darkloid as a Navi and parted ways with her. Heartbroken by her operator's abandonment, but too corrupted by the Dark Chip to change, Roll abandoned her old name and goes by the name "Dark Empress," and much like Dark Mega, became the ruler of the Darkloids in her dimension, as well as the ruler of many viruses.

Upon meeting Dark Mega, Dark Empress and him hit it off rather fast, both from her previous crush on MegaMan when she was still Roll, and because they both have similar backstories. She also sees Rosy as a little sister since she's one of the few people who enjoys the Anti-Amy's antics.

Due to her constant uses of it, the data of the Dark Chip fused with Dark Empress' data, so she can now use it's power without the need of a physical Dark Chip. She also has enough power to rival even Dark Mega, who she plans to rule the Multiverse with.

Legend of Battle Network?

Okay, but hear me out. My brain is constantly on crossover mode, which means that I constantly think of the connections between ideas. Like, let's say realizing that Shadow (Sonic) and Alain (Pokemon) are very similar in character. (Well, until the 4 Kids actors got bumped.)

So, realization that in Twilight Princess there are two worlds that are not meant to cross (Light and Twilight) And although the idea was jumpstarted when I, for some unknown reason, thought about Raika of all people being on some random cliff in Hyrule, and then, well, this.

Total AU where everybody lives in Hyrule and that's normal. Lan's got Link's place, Megaman/Hub's got Midna's place, but of course they aren't going to be the same characters. Lan kinda just ends up into things, which means wolf. Hub finds him, and while he is kind, he's also the prince and heir to the throne in the Twilight Realm, and does make a bargin with Lan that he'll free him only if Lan follows his orders.

They're pretty good friends, although uneasy at first. I'm not sure how they find out how they're long-lost brothers, but they do at some point. (Hub was not born Twili)

I have nothing else to work with this idea except that I know that Mr. Higsby and Shuuko live in Castle Town and that Iris takes Zelda's place.

If you're interested in this concept, please feel free to do something with it, just make sure you mention where you got the idea from. That's the only rule I've got because I have no idea if I can even do anything with this.

So I decided to watch Megaman NT warrior cause I didn't watch it as a kid but I love Battle Network and

- Mr. Match is Scottish. Why is he Scottish? Why is it perfect?

- Higsby's English VA is so fucking neckbeardy its perfect

- Masa is the best character. Period. Full stop no one can convince me otherwise.

- The episode where the WWW corrupt Roll and turn her evil is kind of gross? Like. She transforms into a dominatrix with a whip, heels, vampire fangs, and black eyeshadow. She gets a deep sultry voice. She still has the body of a preteen girl. The "part 1" episode of this 2 episode arc is SUPER male gaze-y with every shot of her and it just feels BIZARRELY sexual.

The second episode of that mini-arc stops framing her in that light, so it's just???

- I can't believe they kill Megaman halfway through the first season

- OK seriously, Mr. Match is fucking ripped. There's an episode where he's shirtless and God damn. He's hot as hell. Pun intended but also DADDY?

- Snakeman.EXE has a normal mouth inside his snake mouth. Neither of them move when he speaks. It's funny as fuck.

- they really could have adapted robot masters that didn't get net Navi counterparts and chose not to. I'll never see Crashman.EXE (pensive emoji)

- why DID they change Chaud's name from Eugene Chaud to Chaud Blaze? Is it to avoid confusing kids as to why everyone calls him by his last name or something?

- Ms. Millions is somehow both a worse person in the anime while also being way less of a creep.

Now, I'm wondering if there was fanart of CF!Numberman and CF!Toadman? it does make sense why they weren't chosen, though. After who knows how long it took from Higsby's starting his Chip Shop to the start of Stream, Numberman likely lost his own NetBattle instincts, and more used to dealing with minor viruses. As for the others, do you think they *can* hold there own in a fight? With or without Cross Fusion, I mean.

Just because I imagine it would be a cool combo, I would have liked to have seen Mr. Match cross fuse with FireMan. Also really wish they would have let Dex fuse with GutsMan to let him have a bit more action.

It was really fun to do! I think my favorite one is the bottom middle one, because that was a chance to try out a new style I’ve been developing lately. :>
