It seems previous Junior is not an ordinary person, not even among the bookmen...? I am very curious what this "calamity" is. Is it a long running curse or something within the clan or did he get it from his mother side..? Assuming she's from outside the clan.

Lucia said "Mr. Host and Nea took a 'beloved' family member from us" but we have some people calling prev junior as a "calamity" or a cause of it among the family. I mean, their clan spreads in all directions and locations so maybe the hate was just among where Bookman and his junior are currently staying at the time? And then Lucia's side is actually and genuinely treasures prev junior? Or was he "beloved" because he is the heir and no matter what he is, he is of importance to them. But->

...given that they are looking for Junior til now, 35 years later, we can consider that there is a genuine concern, i guess? And ngl Lucia looked really pissed when Allen said he does not remember anything. Idk if it's out of concern or if it's because their records are ruined for not knowing anything. (But I think she's really worried... given how she stared at Allen's hair when he arrived).

I wonder if prev Junior's white/gray hair is the indicator of this "child of calamity" claim, given that Bookman himself does not have gray hair from the start. His hair isn't shaded or screen toned in any way so I'm not sure if they have the same color or maybe he's blonde or has light colored hair but yeah. If the white hair is unique to Junior... then that's another mystery.

Also IF ("if" because i thought before whether or not it's a flashback or not, see link below) the young Lucia scene in 222 is a flashback and it happened when former Junior 'disappeared'... then that was 35 years ago.. So how old is Lucia? She should be at least 45 because the kid in 222 looked at least 10 years old... What kind of meals does the Bookmen eat? What is their skin care routine????

Episode 2: One For the Angels

The End

in this episode, Mr. Bookman, a street peddler popular amongst the children, is visited by Mr. Death and is told that he’s going to die at midnight that night. He gives himself extra time by claiming that he has unfinished business, he’s always wanted to make a big, successful pitch. But in return, Mr. Death has to take the life of someone else at midnight, and a little girl he was fond of gets hit by a car. In the end, he successfully trades his life back by stalling Mr. Death with a grand pitch until he’s missed his “appointment,” and is taken instead.

this is one of the episodes that’s more fantastical than it is scary, but I think this one is very focused on the end of life and not being able to have done everything you wanted to.

The Orion's Daughter : To Lands Beyond | Prologue

So much has happened in my life.

Where to begin…

Well… the beginning I suppose.

My name is Raina Toro, daughter of Typh Toro and Florae Toro, mother of Terrilyn Lun, and friend to the once infamous Orion, Steele Veyne.

How I came to know Steele is a story of curious origins. As a mother on my own, abandoned by the love of my life, I had to make a life of my own. I trusted the life of my daughter to a family of farmers who I had come to know and trust. Mr. and Mrs. Finch were kind people, overlooking elements of my past, and watched over Terrilyn as well as their own children as I went to work in the city.

What began as an unsuccessful journey turned fruitful once I befriended an older bookman, Caster Veil, who informed me of a well-paying position as The Orion’s Factotum.

The Orion are giants from a land far across the water, and the position would have me tending to him, giving him meals and water.

Why was he in our land you may ask?

He was accused and convicted of destroying a city called Ombre, killing dozens of innocents in the process. He could not speak our language and offered no defense, allowing himself to be sentenced in our land where he remained locked deep beneath The Turret, one of many high security prisons in our land; though, admittedly, our prisons were not meant for giants such as him.

Having no other positions able to take me, I took the position with a heavy heart.

Through my service and exposure to him, I learned he was no savage. This thoughtful, kindhearted Orion was innocent. Steele was covering for his son, Mithos, who was the true culprit. I taught Steele our language and, finally, learned this truth about him.

He told me he was paying for his son because, according to his customs and culture, it was the only way to repay what had been done to my people and redeem the honor of his entire family name from him to his father, and his father’s father, and so on.

Then, the unthinkable happened.

Steele hoped justice would be done, blaming himself for what happened, but it was not written in the stars to be so. Steele’s son, Mithos, was not satisfied with what he had done before and returned to finish what he started in the town where I had left my daughter – Creewood. I wept, asking Steele for help because I could do nothing to get there in time to save my daughter while he could, and he gave his aid without hesitation, breaking out of what was thought to be an unbreakable prison.

He saved my daughter and all of Creewood at the expense of ending his own son, which nearly broke his spirit. He survived a lethal wound through his will alone and agreed to continue serving Creewood not only to repay what his son had done, but also to earn his way.

It took some adjustment and many, including my own daughter, are still a little uneasy around Steele, and for understandable reason.

They don’t know him like I do. They have accepted him and his presence, but everything takes time.

As spring took root, nearly all saw value in Steele’s presence. His knowledge of roots and the land, tactics for making the ground yield more and shifting the rivers and streams, is invaluable to us all.

I know they all see his value and his good heart. It will just take time.

Still, after six moons, Terrilyn still seems uneasy around him. I won’t pressure her into knowing him like I do.

Still, I wish she could see what I do in him.

But that is for her to tell…

Street scene: Summer. The present. Man on a sidewalk named Lew Bookman, age sixtyish. Occupation: pitchman. Lew Bookman, a fixture of the summer, a rather minor component to a hot July, a nondescript, commonplace little man whose life is a treadmill built out of sidewalks. And in just a moment, Lew Bookman will have to concern himself with survival - because as of three o'clock this hot July afternoon, he'll be stalked by Mr. Death.

And Now The GOP Wants To Disarm Us

In a recent segment titled "Tucker: They care more about pronouns than human life", Carlson implicitly calls for the disarming of trans and queer identities.

"You don't need a RA 15 or whatever they call it—says the head of the democratic party speaking very clearly the party's position on guns: "If we can't control them, you can't have them."

He makes this claim to somehow stir up a concern in his viewers, also saying the following:

"It's the same template, always: scare the crap out of your voters, tell them their lives are at risk, encourage them to get guns, how do you think that ends?

Sounds familiar, Mr. Carlson... Almost like the republican party... You did say in this segment "Just to be clear, we're not against people, American citizens, owning firearms, having firearms, we support it, including trans people, it's fine."? So, why does he have an issue? Let's take a look at the situation:

Carlson was driving, listening to NPR , and he hears this:

"EYDER PERALTA: Mass shootings targeting LGBTQ spaces and a rise in anti-trans rhetoric have inspired some quee people to take up arms. New Hampshire Public Radio's Todd Bookman joined the monthly gathering of a gun group that sees firearms as key to their own self-defense. As and you might imagine, this story does include the sound of gunfire."

BOOKMAN: "On a recent Sunday morning, the parking lot of Pawtuckaway State Partk in Southeastern New Hampshire is filling up with hikers. There's also a different crew packing up warm clothes and weapons."

FIN SMITH: Thank you all for coming to Rainbow Reload.

Tucker stops to mention his disapproval, making the claim these militias are actively out to get anti-trans or non queer people for the sake of it. Saying NPR endorses the gatekeeping of weapons to queer people exclusively and for nobody else, hinting at the disarming of the right wing by democrats, also hinting they might want to harm republicans simply for disagreeing with them.

"Well, you know what's going on here: NPR has decided that guns are bad except when the enforcers of its ideology have guns. You can't have guns, but faithful servants of the democratic party can; that makes sense because all totalitarians, they want a monopoly on force, right? So, debate ends at that point, so the other side has all firearms, you don't have to argue. You say "you can't change your sex" "SHUT UP BIGOT! BANG BANG!" He also utilized NPR's coverage of the death of a transgender woman who goes by Eucy, who, according to her friend, Rachel, "was a peaceful, kind being who liked to garden and make soups from things she grew in her garden. I think out of desperation she barricaded herself in her apartment, as far I know, she had no family in the area." And, he made a big point of NPR leaving out the fact she shot a deputy, but he was unable to mention why she shot the deputy which landed them in the hospital; this entire situation is incredibly unfortunate no matter who is in the wrong, and, we should show attention to the injured deputy as well as Eucy, and, friends and families of the two. This shouldn't have happened, definitely. Though, it would be very logical to find out who fired the first shot.

"And, anyone hearing or reading that dispatch from npr "reporter" from Lily Ana Fowler would feel pretty bad for the person who killed him or her-self. Politics aside, completely. But it turns out NPR didn't tell the whole story. What NPR left out was Eucy had shot a Sheriff's deputy prioe to killing [himself] . In fact, Eucy put that Sheriff's deputy in the hospital where he remains tonight after undergoing emergency surgery. That wasn't of any interest whatsoever to NPR's "social justice" team. They just didn't care. What they want you to know she was part of the trans community, and Eucy died. And so, Eucy's life matters much more than anyone's, including the cop that she shot, certainly more than yours."

Jason Rantz, another member of Fox News and an NPR reporter, after conducting his own research claims:

"There is no genocide of trans people in the U.S. or anywhere in the West.. In fact, there has been an explosion of trans-identifying people, which research suggests is a social contagion spread by social media fads and youth peer pressure. They few dozen trans people tragically killed in the U.S. each year are usually murdered by black men while in the course of prostitution activities."

Rantz does not have a psychological or medical degree, rather, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree of Arts in Politics from LA's Occidental College in 2004. The college became accredited in 2022.

We also know that he has not realeased how he came to this conclusion, or even the data of his research. This can lead one to believe it may be biased or nonexistent. It's just another claim to discredit transgender people so that they have more of a platform to say they cannot own firearms, while also making the hypocritical statement the trans community has the ultimate goals to disarm or cause harm to those they do not necessarily agree with. Obviously, even if trans people do have guns, it's already proof this is not the goal, self-defense is the goals. And, nobody is ever barred from the right to bear arms in at least one way or another. The second amendment is for all people.
