Surprise Attack
@mp-minry
Esther had a day off from work, and she had planned to spend the day binging on one of her new dramas that she had been watching. It was one adapted from a novel she loved, and having been so busy running around, she had not been able to devote the time to it that she wanted to. So, she had lounged comfortably on her couch, engrossed in one of her dramas while sipping on a hot chocolate that she had made using Leto's gift.
When she heard the knock at her door, she was rather confused. She had not expected any visitors, though Esther never cared whether her friends gave her a warning if dropping by. So, she took a second to pause her show and set her drink down before she hurried to the door. Esther did not even take a moment to see who was at it, and the demigoddess immediately regretted so after opening the door.
Her heart dropped. Surprise seeping onto her visage, though it was the look of hurt in her eyes as she once again saw Minry. She had managed to escape their last encounter, and she had little hope in doing so again. "Go away!" Was all she could exclaim before she attempted to shut the door.
However, of course, it would not be that simple.

"What the Fu-" : Exes and Oh Nos
starter for the one person he hoped not to see @mp-minry
Juyeon was heading to Stop&Paws, a weekly visit to stock up on supplies and toys for Haruki after he ended up adopting her at the Summer Festival. It's been a bit since then and he'd slowly begun to spoil the cat to bits. She was his little sweetheart and she deserved the best. He'd dressed comfortably in one of his loose and breezy t-shirts with casually ripped jeans and beaten up sneakers, his hair was it's bright blue that he'd been sporting off and on over the months he's been in Mount Phoenix as it honestly was one of his favorite colors to use.
He hummed softly, listening to some music as he moved through the city with a natural comfort he hadn't had in a place for quite some time. Sure, there had been some bad moments (Read: His long time best friend he'd just reunited with having nightmares for weeks and then getting into a brutal and nasty fight with the one that caused said nightmares and nearly dying wasn't fun but-), but it's not bad with those incidents aside. In-soo was recovering at home now and Juyeon frequently went to visit him and keep him company whenever he had the free time to do so.
It wasn't bad and he was slowly coming to enjoy things along with maybe finally letting some things stop lingering in his thoughts. It'd been a rough couple of years admittedly... some things, they still bothered him but he was trying to get better. He let a breath loose, shaking his head a bit to banish thoughts of the past before he glanced up to check how far he had left to go until he got to Stop&Paws and found himself suddenly freezing and stopping dead in his tracks.
He felt a chill shock through his system as his gaze caught the sight of someone he hoped he'd never see in Mount Phoenix. Of course there was always the possibility, he'd suspected she had powers after he'd started to actually do some research on his own abilities. But fuck. It's too soon.
His breath caught in his throat, his hair unconsciously shifting and darkening to a deep black from the abrupt shock of seeing her standing there. Her back was currently turned but before Juyeon could decide if he could turn around and try to avoid meeting her the woman turned and caught sight of him in return.
As she started towards him, the demigod took a deep breath and dug deep into his willpower and control to force himself to relax and to assume a neutral expression. He could fly away, sure, but Minry had already seen him and there was no telling when he'd randomly run into her again. Especially if she'd become a resident of Mount Phoenix anyways.
He'd forced himself to calm down, shaking negative thoughts to the back of his mind before he sighed softly and waited until she was standing in front of him to speak first. "I'd say I'm surprised to see you here, but then I'd be lying. When did you get here?" He asked, tone flat and face still neutral as he glanced over her for a brief moment before crossing his arms and adjusting his stance slightly to give himself a little more stability while facing her.

Lost & Found Again || Minry&"Yuri"
starter for the alluring @mp-minry
Mount Phoenix was supposed to be a fresh start. He had been on the island for a few weeks now and actually everything was going well. He had started to work, settled into his new apartment and surroundings and even made a few acquaintances. As mentioned earlier, actually everything should be fine if it weren't for the image of her - Minry - that's running through his head all the time and instead of diminishing, he recently has the feeling that he sees her everywhere. On the way to work, in the stairwell, in the coffee shop around the corner. Even today in the park he thought he saw her out of the corner of his eye. It makes you want to run a mile!
As usual when he's frustrated, he grabbed his gym bag to clear his head at the gym. On the way to the front door, he grabbed his baseball cap and left the apartment, only to be greeted with a short bark by a happy little puppy just outside his door. Irritated and surprised, he looked around the hallway for the dog's owner, but there wasn't a soul in sight. He kneeled down to the puppy and patted its head. "So, where do you come from?" The friendly little fellow immediately jumped into his arms and supported himself with his front paws on Yohan's chest to lick his cheek once. "Hey, little furball, stop it." A deep laugh was heard from Yohan as he stood up with the puppy in his arms. He likes dogs very much. He just could never get one because of his lifestyle. "Let's see who misses you."
If he's not mistaken, the dog belonged to one of his neighbours, he's seen the little puppy in the hallway before. He quickly found the door, which was wide open and where the little one must have slipped through. He knocked on the open door to make himself known. He didn't want to just go in, but he seems right. The little puppy was already happily wagging its tail and would like to jump off its arm and into the apartment.
" Hello? Is anyone here?"

❛ IS THAT A CHALLENGE? ❜
“A challenge, a threat, and a promise.” For once, the color of his voice was dark and his expression only allowed for a sliver of emotion to show on his features. The type of face he’d often sport whenever he was mocking his brother for his emotionless appearance. Though, his indifferent facade was soon broken by a smirk that held no humor. It looked almost taunting. Even more so, when he took half a step closer, exiling the gap between them, his head tilted down ever so slightly to meet her gaze and give off the illusion of towering over her.
“And you might’ve just made the worst mistake of your life…” Considering how cold his voice sounded, it almost sounded foreign to his body. As if her words awakened something within him that not even he expected. “…so I can’t guarantee that I can be mindful of your feelings…” Deep down, Alexander knew that was a lie, but he was pretty sure he was supposed to exaggerate a little when it came to trash talk.
Without ever breaking eye contact, he handed her the basketball, before he silently challenged her by raising eyebrows expectantly. “I’ve set the high score twice…” Finally, his lips broke into a mixture between a smile and a smirk, banishing the sight of near indifference off his face. Alex placed his hands onto her shoulders and led her around himself to guide her towards the basketball shooting machine of the arcade. “… I’ve played at least one match a day for the past week…” his voice sounded almost cheerful when he said it. But when Minry was standing in front of the machine and his hands had yet to lift off her shoulders, he leaned closer to bring his tone down into a deep but raspy half-whisper. “…so don’t expect to win against me on the first try.” His gaze briefly scanned her features, as if he realized just then how close they were to each other and had to play it cool. Ever since he started working at the Arcade, Alex had wanted to invite Minry on a date there.
After taking a step back to give her space and making sure she couldn’t see him, his smile faltered slightly when he got serious to search for his boss’s gaze. The very same boss who was able to bestow luck on people.
Alex's eyes widened just slightly when they moved to mimic a pointing motion, a nod confirmed his subtle gesture. It was a silent request for Felix to ensure Minry’s victory. Despite his attempt at trash talk, he never cared to win—Alexander just figured that if he’d brag about his previous victories, hers would taste much sweeter.

❛ may i have this dance? ❜
Carter was never the 'party hard' type. Not because he didn't want to be, but because he felt oddly shy when having to let loose in front of others. Kaya always poked fun at him for it and how he only seemed to let down his hair after a couple of strong drinks, which often led to a night filled with clumsiness and red cheeks, such as this one.
He went out to explore new places in the island - places where he hadn't thought to set foot in, like the club everyone had been talking about after a new demigoddess began going on stage. She was what he'd call the definition of beautiful, and he knew she knew it. He could see it in the way she commanded the room, with everyone's eyes following her.
He was no exception.
His eyes glazed over, wondering what it'd be like to be that confident when a melodious voice broke through his thoughts.
"Uh, s-sure." He stuttered, his ears turning red as his natural skin glow flickered at his nervousness.

❛ just sit there and look pretty and let me handle this. ❜
ft. ( @mp-minry )
Theodora was not going to lie, being called pretty made her heart flutter and her cheeks warm up. She made her peace with her looks a long time ago, but it still felt like a novelty to be complimented. Let it alone this spontaneously. The only thing that concerned her was the situation in which the compliment was given. But a compliment is still a compliment, despite the situation, right?
"No, please, don't do that. It was my fault." It was not the first pile of books that Theodora knocked out at someone's bookshop. In her defence, she was left with no supervision and with a heavy backpack. On top of that, she had little sleep the night before, which roughly translated into a mayhem machine in the morning and for the rest of the day. Since she had survived going up and down the library's stairs, she thought that a short trip to the nearest bookshop was a well-deserved prize for her effort on staying alive awake.
Before anything else happened, she took off her backpack and put it aside before starting to pick up the fallen books. One after the other, it was a matter of seconds until Theodora put back the pile of books in place. "I was wondering when it would happen again, you know?" She chuckled. "Once, I managed to knock over two piles of books, and they were taller than this one! I turned around once, and when I heard the books falling over I turned around again, and the other pile fell down too. I got so embarrassed that it took me weeks to go back there, and when I did, I hoped no one recognized me."

Her reaction drew a laugh from him. One that was soft and somewhat boyish; one that could only pass his lips to give away that he was messing with her. The artworks on his skin had long surpassed the number of siblings he had—roughly a few months after his brother started tattooing more frequently, in fact. “That depends,” he shrugged, actively choosing to talk about his siblings before he’d bring up the topic of his tattoos again, “are nine siblings common around here?” The question hung in the air, left there for just a second longer in genuine wonder.
Although a big family wasn’t too peculiar within his region—religion playing a big role in those constellations—Alexander was curious if family trees of a similar size existed on the island. “The one that’s on the island with me is Maxim. He’s kind of a loner, though, so I don’t know if you’ve personally met him.” His smile faltered slightly, only to give way to an expression of contemplation when he tried to remember the name of his brother’s godly parent.
“Max is the son of…uhm…” It was only then that Alexander realized how little he knew about his brother’s true heritage. Despite spending a considerable part of their days or weeks together and sharing a camaraderie and comfort that only brothers could have, their parents—godly or adopted—weren’t often their choice of topic.
“…Morphe–” the word sounded tentative even while he considered saying it and, as if he could reel his previous guess back if he only spoke up quick enough, he corrected himself. “Phobetor! He’s the son of Phobetor. I’m the son of Hundun. None of us are actually related by blood, but they’re still my siblings” For a moment, his aura veiled itself with pride; strong and infallible. His family was a topic he would never mind discussing.
Considering Alexander only came to the island somewhat recently himself, he assumed he wouldn’t know her half-sister, even if he’d find out her name. Nevertheless, watching her talk about her family made him tilt his head to the side ever so slightly. His gaze softened and with all his attention directed towards her, he felt himself get caught into a trance. Although he wanted to find out more about Minry, her backstory and her family, the demigod was too distracted to think of a question to ask.
It would only occur to him much later that he never answered her question regarding his tattoos. Then again, he wasn’t sure he even could give her a proper estimate of how many artworks lived under his skin. Who knew? Depending on how their night was going to end, she might get to count every last one of them.
The maid’s gaze didn’t go unnoticed and although curiosity almost had him look up at her to see if she was waiting for something in particular, Minry effortlessly lured his attention back to their conversation when she spoke. His mouth opened to speak, but no sound followed. Her lips on his skin set off a completely different kind of adrenaline rush within him. Pecks that felt like tiny fires, leaving the memory of sweet burns along his jaw that would further spread the warmth in his body. Alexander wouldn’t even notice how his lips curved into a smirk and his head tilted to allow her more space. Gods, how he wished for the maid to be shameless enough to just stand there while Minry proved her point.
Only when Minry spoke up did he notice that the maid was long gone. His eyes met hers, offering her a challenging look. A dangerous question? The statement alone only intrigued him more about her answer. In a spellbound and almost automatic motion, he glanced at her lips, blind to any giveaways of her next move.
If the shift of her position was a swift endeavor, Alexander would be oblivious to it.
To him, it felt like a sweet eternity where one of his arms wrapped around her waist to support her and keep her steady, while the grip on her thigh tightened ever so slightly to hold her close. Mischief glinted in his eyes when he looked up at her. Surely, she had to know what she was doing. And he had to admit, he respected her for it.
Even though it made it only that much harder for him to keep his thoughts pure and his gaze respectful.
Self-assured. Sweet. Intoxicating. The words came to mind while she described herself. All of which were attributes that were painfully attractive to him. “As you should be.” Something in his voice hinted at mutual understanding. There was no need for her to be apologetic about getting what she wanted—he was very similar in that regard. “And is there something you want right now?” he raised an eyebrow to emphasize his question while his fingertips played along the skin of her thigh. It was everything he could do to distract himself from their positions enough so that he could focus on their conversation.
A futile pursuit, he figured, when she took off her jacket and revealed the bralette that—while it hugged her body beautifully—did nothing to help him keep focused. And again, she knew. He was sure she did. She had to know what she was doing, right?
“Something about me, huh?” Alexander’s voice was low and calm while he thought of a fact that might interest her before he leaned in closer as if to tell her a secret. ”I’m not as nice or as oblivious as I seem.” His neck strained up just the slightest bit, his lips brushing against her neck when he spoke.
“People just seem to trust me more when they think I’m harmless.” Trust he would easily break for the dopamine hit of a confrontation. Regardless whether he was part of the conflict or just a cheering bystander.
As if to return the favor, Alexander ran a line of soft kisses along her neck, smiling softly when he caught a glimpse of the maid heading towards them to bring their drinks. He stopped only when he was fully sure she saw them while their drinks were placed onto the table. A gentleman at heart, he offered a quick nod in gratitude for her service.
“Could we also get two shots of tequila?” His question was directed to the worker, his tone kind and patient, with an air of an apology lingering in his voice. Too lost in whatever game he and Minry were playing, he’d almost forgotten to order the shots they were talking about earlier. In any other circumstance, he might’ve felt bad for wasting their server’s time by ordering twice. But Alexander was too preoccupied with trying to keep his cool.
“Might as well order them now because I don’t think they’ll be our last.”
Need a Drink ?
"I was referring to the tattoos but, I don't mind knowing about your siblings as well." She chuckled, realizing how vague her question must have been. It was rare for Minry to become interested in such a mundane topic as family when going on date (if you could call that moment a date at all). And yet there she was listening to the other attentively. Alexander's playfulness as he spoke was refreshing to witness, the man seemed to have a natural way to be charming and entertaining without having to try hard. "That doesn't truly answer my question you know?" She poked his cheek, groaning in a very light-hearted manner. "But now I am curious. Exactly, how many siblings do you have? Because the way you were talking, it feels the number is higher than what's common out there."
The revelation about one of his brothers also being a demigod caught Minry by surprise. More questions would promptly arise in her mind and she had no issue voicing them out. "Full brother? As in, you both share the same god and human parent? That's rare on the island I think… And if the godly heritage is different, please enlight me about both yours and his. The existence of us, demigods is still quite baffling to me." Alexander was free to reject her questions but in the hopes to make him more comfortable to drag the topic, she threw a bone. "I have one sister, well, half-sister that I'm close with. She lived here briefly, and we grew up together. Our fathers were best friends."
The suggestion regarding tattooing herself did not pass by unnoticed, but considering the shenanigan that occurred with the staff, Minry had brushed it aside for now.
"Well, we did say it was a night to try new things… It's a lovely drink, trust me." Feeling his digit stroke her skin brought light shivers all over her, which was surprising considering it was such a small gesture. The two were still under the watch of the maid's gaze and all of it just flared Minry to continue being enticing. His request came unexpected but Minry would bring a brief pause to it, by boldly pampering his jaw with light pecks, occasionally glancing at the maid that quickly stepped away with such a scenario. The pecks wouldn't stop and Minry's eyes were now on Alexander's. "That can be a dangerous question, Alexander." She teased.
Minry shifted her body, only to cause some spark along the fact she was sitting on his lap. The movement was masked as her trying to get comfortable, then straightening her back so she could be facing him instead of leaning on his torso. Alexander's question brought a sour feeling inside her mind. Untrustworthy. Rotten. Poisonous... many different words came up, considering the reality of her upbringing. "I always get what I want, when I want it. And I am very unapologetic about it." Minry bites her bottom lip, before bringing a smile to her lips.
The temperature was starting to catch up to Minry, either due to Sakura's ambiance or the invisible friction between them. It really didn't matter the reason, it was enough for Minry to remove her jacket and revealing her denim bralette. "How about you? What is something that makes Alexander, himself. Something you wouldn't tell anyone... but me."

❛ i want you to forget this ever happened. ❜
To the pretty customer's request, Eirwen let out a soft, cooperative chuckle.
"Please don't worry, we should be the one to apologize."
She looked back at where two staff were picking up the rest of the newly baked cookies that got dropped, then swiflty brought the tray back to the kitchen for proper disposal. Eirwen was busy talking to another customer as it happened, when one of her staff and the young lady pumped into each other while he was bringing the cookies tray to another display cabinet.
"So how can I help you today, miss?" Eirwen then asked, realizing that the customer was not even served yet. "We have some special winter treats, would you like to try?"

❛ can’t sleep? ❜
Ayden looked up from the glowing display cabinets of BÖLJANDE to the asker, taking in her gorgeous face out of a photographer's habit. He understood the reason for that question, being fully aware of the dull dark circles underneath his eyes.
"I've been looking like this since forever, not a big deal," he easily admitted, a tired smile creeping upon his face. His eyes drifted back down to the sparkling necklaces in the cabinets, resuming his search for gifts for Yeji and Ahri.
There were just a bit too many options, and so he sought the demigoddess' eyes again, this time to ask for her opinion. "Could you help me, please? I'm looking for something cute for my younger sister, and something elegant for my girlfriend."

Esther had been quietly slipping through various dresses at one of the local boutiques. She had been in need for a new dress to perform in, and she had luck in there in the past. However, she had not expected to look up to meet the face of the other. Jumping back, Esther let out small noise of surprise.
Looking at her with a slight glare, she retorts. "It would be fine if you left me alone." She states, harshly in her eyes. "You are nearly a stalker at this point."

Tsukuyomi’s business wasn’t quite exactly how he left it a month ago, as his month-long absence gave Hel a chance to clear out almost half of his works. He knew it, that she kept them for her own enjoyment and amusement, frankly. He didn’t have the energy to chase after them just yet, though. He’ll deal with that later.
Despite that, he had to keep what he had left safe from others who wanted to try and rob him, and he was truthfully a bit worried whether his new employee Minryeong could gatekeep that. Yes, he had security systems installed, but his staff still had to hold their front. Such individuals he considered a threat were now standing at the counter, and he held a sharp breath, ready to rush out front where Minryeong stood opposite them. “What’s going on?”

❛ i'm not drunk enough for this. ❜
"Yeah, good for you not to swim in the dark, I don't want to play the beach rescuer anyway."
Susanoo chimed in from his side of the beach, a medium half-full bottle of sake secured in his right hand, and a few empty ones laying near his feet. The time was some hour late into the night, the weather was clear, the sea was idle, and he was up to his chest in the current of turbulent emotions. For whatever reason, a demigoddess seemed to share his idea of drinking on the beach, and so they inevitably ended up being a monument in each other's sight.
"But we can exchange the drinks, if you like. I'm actually curious of what you are having there," he offered, eyes getting watery and dreamy from all the alcohol he had consumed, but his stable voice affirmed hat he was just barely reached the tipsy state.

❛ you can kiss me, you know. ❜
There it was again. A casual remark that feels like a kick in the gut. He takes a deep breath to calm himself before turning to Minry and slowly walking towards her. He had long since lost count of how many times they had met by chance in the hallway since the first surprise encounter a few weeks ago. It didn't help that they practically lived next to each other.
He put on his best smile as, like he had done so many times before, he used his thumb and forefinger to push her chin up a little so that he was looking at her in anticipation of the kiss that would always follow. His other hand caresses her cheek tenderly until his thumbs trace her lips. "Is that so?" he asked dreamily, his eyes following the movement of his thumb on her lips.
However, when he leaned down, his lips moved to the shell of her ear instead of hers and with a mocking tone he whispered in her ear. "Nah~ I think that would cost me too much." With that he took a step back and turned on his heel, leaving her standing there.
Two can play at that game.

❛ i thought you’d like some company. ❜
Alexander leaned his back against the counter in a relaxed stance and folded his arms in front of his chest. A wide grin crept up on his face—slowly and as if he was doing his best to fight it—at the sight of her. The very first customer of his shift could make or break the rest of his workday, and he didn’t plan on letting anybody ruin it.
It was unusual for the shop to be this quiet, but with his more experienced coworker taking care of the only other customer in the store, Alex had no choice but to wait for something interesting to happen. Like a gift from the universe, he didn’t have to wait long for his interest to be piqued.
“I would’ve been happy with any kind of company,” he raised an eyebrow, his words filled with friendly mischief, “but seeing you—must be my lucky day.” The kind expression on his face concealed the thirst for chaos behind his eyes. What kind of chaos? Alex wasn’t sure just yet.
All he knew was that she looked like somebody he could get into trouble with.

Hephaestus offered the girl a smile with a glint in his eyes. "Yes, I'd like to see some examples. I've been having an issue with the chains breaking almost immediately to the heat and the delicate work involved, so I wanted to get one to see if I could replicate it," he stated. He paced around looking at all the necklaces, and rings and various jewelry pieces. He may have to ask that seamstress on the island, Yura for her help on the shiny side. She was someone who was more familiar around such things.
He knew that he didn't look at all close to what he was descibed in the books, but that was good for him, since it was always the element of surprise on his side.
As the girl stated that the ones on display may not be ideal for what he was looking for, the God simply nodded. "Alright." he stated. If this girl was a daughter of Aphrodite, he had to be careful and honestly, give his wife credit. At least she had the audacity to keep with her standards.
As she came back, Hephaestus made his way over to where she set up what she brought out and took a look at the intricately braided cords, and chains. As she then asked him whether it was meant to hold heavy pieces to endure some sort of forging, the God smirked. He reached for a chain, reminiscent of the braided style he had noticed. "The commission is to recreate a gift. It is not meant to endure heavy pieces but rather a delicate handiwork that can only be done with my specific touch," he stated.
Did that essentially confirm that he was the God of the Forge and Fire? Maybe.
❛ so, what do i owe this pleasure? ❜
Hephaestus smirked as he paced around the young woman at the sales counter. He'd come by Bojlande on two missions. One: to get a chain necklace, dainty enough so that he could draw a comparison between his own and the jeweler. He was quite good at armor chains but those would be too thick for the commissioned piece from Skadi.
His second mission was slightly more petty. He'd heard that a daughter of Aphrodite was working there and he just wanted to see for himself what sort of woman she would be since there was always the possibility that she grew up with her father's personality.
He took a deep breath and paused at the chains, analyzing them. "I'm just here for this. I need a 30 -32 inch chain, thin and dainty. Something that you'd put a charm on," he stated. "I had a commission a while back and I think my chain that I created is a little too thick so I just need a comparison," he stated, gazing at her. "If you don't have a 32 inch, I'll take any other size. I just need to compare a few things so that I can complete my commission with ease."
She seemed very comfortable around the jewelry and Hephaestus mentally groaned. Another Aphrodite.

“You needn’t be afraid of that at all.”
There are layers of meaning to that statement and each one of them is a valid one when it comes to her. The god knows deeply the course of his plan for her in terms of romance and he knows well her efforts toward her own plans and schemes. Right now, in the course of both their plans, love is not the remedy to her ventures. Eros smiles at her as he looks over the menu.
“You will never be lonely, even when you are alone, not really. That I can promise you,” he says calmly as his eyes land on a particularly delicious sounding description. Finally he looks up at her again, “Join me?”
And maybe that has layers too.
