2 of my "sketch something from the movie you are watching" personal challenge. The only rule is that it should be something from the movie, not trying to sketch actual movie scenes. That would be cool, but then I wouldn't really be watching the movie! On recommendation of @rad_art_1 and others, I watched the Disney Pixar movie "Turning Red" and thought it was very good! The movie is about 13 year old Meilin who turns into a red panda when she gets emotional. It was very nicely made, visually beautiful, with nice music and songs, and was very relatable (no matter what age one is). I did a quick sketch based on the movie. Later on I also watched "Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight", perhaps, to balance out the emotional content of the previous movie, with a fun horror that doesn't take itself seriously. I did a quick sketch based on that movie too. You can see scans of both the drawings and I'm also including a review of "Demon Knight" which I wrote 20 years ago! These are sketches from Magic in the Moonlight, directed by Woody Allen. I’m not a big Woody Allen fan, something about genius, socially awkward (cute) but ultimately self-absorbed and emotionally stingy men getting the girl isn’t satisfying to me. But this movie I liked quite a bit. Probably because the man was played by Colin Firth.
