Stell dir vor dein Laptop erzählt dir was aus deinem Leben aber aus seiner Sicht. Klingt erstmal nicht so spannend? Wie bewegend und mitreißend das sein kann zeigt der Roman "Um mich herum Geschichten" von Luna Al-Mousli. Jede Geschichte wird von einem anderen Gegenstand erzählt und handelt von einer anderen Person. Es wird nicht verraten um was für einen Gegenstand es sich handelt, sodass man beim Lesen mit rätselt wer oder besser was hier gerade erzählt. Die erzählten Geschichten sind sehr spannend und emotional. Man taucht ein in verschiedene Schicksale und erfährt von Erfolg, Freute, Verlust, Trauer und Hoffnung. Auf 120 Seiten sieht man das Leben aus einer komplett neuen Sicht. Ich finde das Buch ließt sich sehr leicht. Man fiebert total mit den Figuren mit, da die Geschichten sehr realistisch beschrieben werden.

The Sculptor is a pretty short interactive story about the artistic dilemma of creating for the sake of creating and essentially selling out, through the lens of an older man yearning to create his Magnum Opus before it is too late. Through a fairly poetic prose, the man reflect on his gifts, the process to get to the finished state, and that dilemma.

Spoilers ahead. It is recommended to play the game first. The review is based on my understanding/reading of the story.

With a focus on touch-related imagery, the entry does a fairly good job at describing the tedious, and often painful, but fulfilling process of creating art. Its poetic prose engages to see creative endeavour as more than the final product, but all the acts, the efforts, the sweat, the tears that made it happen. I was particularly touched by the yearning of the old man to accomplish one last piece, fulfilling his dream, before meeting the inevitable.

Though it is a major point of the story, I did not find the dilemma quite satisfying. The question itself of creating for the sake of creating or to be able to survive has been debated almost ad nauseam, without much of a new or fresh angle to it. It also felt like the Sculptor's position was clear: not preserving the art from being sullied through transaction would tear his soul.

Another thing that felt strange was placing the time period of the piece. The cover art and starting prose suggest a Baroque or maybe Romantic period, while the dialogue from other characters would place it in a more modern time. It would not be too surprising to learn that the sculptor's sensibilities were tuned to older periods, being maybe even detached from reality due to his age or current state. An angle like this could have helped bridge the gap, I think.

Year in Review

Making a rather hap dash year in review since I don’t have time to make a proper good layout for it. Showing two drawings for December since they are basically all I worked on his month and are companion pieces.

Jan: Drawing of YuYu, was in one of those phases where I wasn't sure about my shading.

Feb: Lil valentines day drawing of Juno and Sol/Shadow. Still no shadows.

Mar: Full redesigns for Aqua and Dia who didn't have a concrete design before now.

Apr: Drawing Mina the Hollower from that game Yacht Club is working on, and Mously Ashley from those memes around the time of RE4 Remake being out.

May: Mermay drawing of YuYu and Sigurd among many other mermay drawings.

June: Blaise and McFly from Chuggaconroy's lets play of Pokemon White 2. They finally got the soda medal.

Jul: Made this pixel art of Melody in the middle of artfight.

August: A redesign of Roto where he's a much more fancy looking lad.

Sep: Werewolf Melody and Victoria both together since I haven't drawn the two sisters together for awhile.

Oct: A spooky month prompt where Dia is a mummy.

Nov: Finally made a proper design for Sol's brother, Mani.

Dec: As mentioned it's a companion piece of two drawings of Corrupted/Darkin Sol based on those Legend of Runeterra cards and skins.

I'm rather surprised I did manage to draw something every month this year. It's nice to see.

She is a fallen Faith angel (you'll soon know what that is) she used to be a faith angel working for THE MOTHER (a cult like planet that is trying to force indoctrinate other planets , mously important 4 main planets) she was GLATT's personal assistant, and helper, basecly doing what ever Glatt want it (u will know who glatt is soon, i'll make posts about it and will create the names into links) ,and usaly it was revolved arownd forcing ppl form other planets to join THE MOTHER or straight up killing them, she also had 2 horns that helpd her comunicate with Glatt, and also make Glatt be omnipresent arownd Helen.

She soon realized that shes bringing a lot of pain to others (sence she was Glatts personal assistant she was razed by glatt as well and brainwashd) and broke her right horn to stop comunicating with her, rezulting in her becoming a fallen and mutating into some sort of creature because of the radiation that planet had, she was on earth so she had to try to look as human as possible she was abel to create a some what human looking form, not beeing abel to get rid of the horns and the green crack that is arownd her face, (sence she put so much force into braking that horn that her hole face crackd).
