TIME: 4:30 PM ST (Server Time) DAY: SEPTEMBER 26TH WHERE: RATCHET WRYMREST ACCORD ~~~ Are you someone who enjoys the aesthetic of Brewfest, but just don’t want to partake in the “brew” part? Maybe you want something more family friendly to celebrate and partake? Or perhaps you have a huge sweet tooth and want to eat cake and brownies in lederhosen? If you said yes to at least one of these then do we have an event for you! That’s right, this months Soup Kitchen has been done up to the theme of Brewfest, but without the Brew! Everything the kitchen originally supplies will still be available. A faction neutral event for ALL races to enjoy themselves, get food and be offered services such as healing and emergency supplies! But why not make it fun and fit the holiday in a way for a soup kitchen? Here at the “Brew”fest hosted by the APC we’ll have food themed after the holiday as well as food typically offered at the actual festival! And instead of big tankards of alcohol we’ll have unlimited supply of delicious fizzy Rootbeer Floats in take home tankards to remember the holiday! Our hope is to create a fun festival like environment for all ages So come down to Ratchet on September 26th to partake in fun Brewfest themed games and competitions and have a chance at a raffle for prizes!! Games such as:
This competition will be a way to challenge your “Brew”fest best! Put together mogs and outfits to fit the theme of the holiday. Get as creative as you want, it can be themed after a drink, animals associated with the holiday, or the season itself. RULES ARE: -You cannot use any of the Brewfest mogs! No shoes, hats, lederhosen, Brewfest dress that are made available during the holiday. - You cannot use Brewfest toys such as the sausage hat or Brewfest banner. - You also cannot display acts that mimic being inebriated or drunk. - Must be a creative outfit you feel fits the theme to the best of your ability! There will be a third, second and fourth place for glittering gold prizes!
Take a chance before the Council to show us your moves and get as wild as you want in this dance competition! (Wild within reason of course) RULES ARE: - Please have your dance PRE-WRITTEN before hand so that it does not prolong the competition! - Please do not post your entire dance in one giant post but in steady incriminates in a timely fashion! - You are allowed to wear the Brewfest mogs made available during the holiday! There will be a third, second and first place for Glittering Gold Prizes as well as the cosmetic title <The Dancemaster>
and lastly
At a certain point during the event we will open up a raffle at a chance to win shop items. Prizes include any pet of your choice, any mount of your choice and then WoW time! Gold donations would be appreciated during this bit, but not required!
@wraconnect @wracentral @wowrpevents @warcraftisastage @the-royal-courier
SEE READMORE FOR RULES OF THE EVENT!
RULES OF “BREW”FEST:
-This event is “Alcohol free” since this is our soup kitchen and charity event but made to be a fun chance to fit the holiday. So please do not try to bring in alcohol and change the flow of the event. There are plenty of days before and after during the event where you can partake in the actual festival in Ironforge and Durotar. (And don’t even try and argue it because we’re “Brewfest” themed!)
- Please keep giant multi-paragraph post RP to a minimum! This clogs up the chat channel and makes it hard to keep up when everything is pushed up and away. - Players intentionally who come to cause problems will be reported for disrupting an RP event. So please do not spam toys, abuse the /yell or harass others. Characters causing issues IC will also be handled appropriately! - THIS IS A NEUTRAL EVENT. So there will be HORDE and ALLIANCE races. Do not attempt to try and spy or monitor each other! Just have some soda and pretzels! The APC has security for this reason!

Brewfest 2018
As you enter the Brewfest festival grounds this year, skip right past all of the other tents. There’s only one you need to visit this year! Clan Ironstout returns to Brewfest for it’s third year of fun and festivities!
Beer!
We will be providing seven different beers from our own Ironforge Brewery, snacks and meals from the Cask ‘n’ Anvil, as well as tons of mini-games with our own set of prizes!
Beers provided include traditional recipes, both new and old.
Brewfest Märzen: Malty, sweet, and strong. This lager has been fermenting in the cold snow of Ironforge since the Spring. This is the featured Brewfest Brew!
Diamond King Kristallweizen: A crystal clear wheat ale. Light and crisp on the tongue, yielding a refreshing citrus flavor.
Anvilmar Altbier: Copper-colored ale, brewed like a lager. The lager fermentation leads to a crisper, cleaner beer with a muted fruity flavor.
Dun Morogh Doppelbock: A strong, malty, dark lager.
Bronzebeard Blonde: An easy-drinking, golden ale. Subtly sweet with just a pinch of bitterness on the finish.
Ironstout’s Iron Stout: A rich, malty stout. This brew is the clan’s flagship. It resembles the color of Iron.
Snowdrift Shandy: An easy-drinking option at festivals, this half-hefeweizen, half-juice concoction is popular with light drinkers.
Food!
Food at this year’s Ironstout tent will once again be catered by Modarin Slatefist, owner of the popular Cask ‘n’ Anvil tavern in Ironforge. The full menu has yet to be announced; however, several traditional festival snacks will be provided.
Brewfest Pretzel: The essential Brewfest snack, complete with stone-ground mustard, or beer-cheese for dipping.
Giant Iced Cookie: A rune-stone shaped ginger-cookie, iced with a personalized message!
Coldridge Cupcake: Large chocolate cupcakes with fresh berry filling, straight from Coldridge Valley.
Games!
Once again, Clan’ Ironstout’s brewtent will feature games with several prizes. We should have another Mekgineer’s Chopper, several souvenir steins, and magically created alemental pets to give away, along with many other fantastic prizes!
Make sure to come and participate in these mini-games to earn tickets for your prizes. We will once again feature regular drinking contests, a drinking contest tournament, drunken ram racing, and drunken brawling! You may also choose to bark for Ironstout’s Brewery for tickets, as well! Who knows? Will you earn enough to get a brew named after you?
For a Great Cause!
All additional proceeds earned will benefit the Alliance War efforts in Kul Tiras, as well as the refugees and victims of the War of Thorns.
Be sure to stop by while you’re enjoying the festival! We’ll be sure to make your Brewfest experience top-notch!
-Bathidlis Ironstout
Head Brewer of Ironstout Brewery
OOC Information:
We’re back! Come visit us! Can’t wait to see you. This is an IC brew-tent much like the Barleybrews and the Thunderbrews, run by some pretty fantastic folks!
About Time and Location:
ICly we will be in a tent like all of the others, but OOCly you will find us on the Podium where High Tinker gives his opening ceremony speech.
As far as hours of operation are concerned, I plan on running the booth every night that I possibly can; however, real life will - as I’m sure - get in the way. Just check nightly, and there might be some RP going on!
The absolute most important time to make it will be opening night: September the 20th at 6 pm server time.
Lastly, keep in mind that on Saturday, September 29th, the Dwarven Clan Moot will take the utmost priority. Brewfest goers will still get some attention; however, the Dwarven community has the evening reserved. (Generally speaking, I also happen to run the guild hosting it!)
About Add-ons:
A lot of our RP is USUALLY run via an addon called Gryphonheart Items, otherwise known as GHI. It is a custom item generation addon that allows for all sorts of incredible RP. Right now, it’s busted. We’re hoping it’s fixed by the event.
We are currently working to swap our inventory over to TRP3 Extended, which works similarly. While it’s not mandatory that you have these addons, to earn tickets and exchange them for prizes, you will be required to use one of the two.
I will personally be using TRP3′s about section for information regarding the festival tent. If you want to see menus and everything, be sure to have a viable Roleplay addon!
About the Beers:
Beers provided will be GHI items or TRP3e; however, there are also in-game substitutes, as well. Even if you don’t have the addons, please come RP with us! <3
About the Food:
All food will be RP and in-game food only. No GHI here!
About Payment:
All items given out for this festival are free OOCly! Payment is purely an RP construct, so please don’t give us your hard earned gold unless you just really want to. Providing these drinks is usually no big deal; however, tips are appreciated.
About the Games:

Special note about the drinking contest. The drinking contest will be hosted fairly regularly, and is a /roll based system. The prizes for the contest are very real, and the drinking contest tournament will only be held on certain days. The prizes for the tournament include in-game mounts and pets!

Do you Hear the Chimes of the Bells??
Do you hear the chimes of the bells, it’s been a month and a couple of weeks since WrA hosted their first Revelry event. For three days people of many guilds on the horde side of the server gathered together as one to bring out many events, games and well for people to come out an have fun. There have been many up’s and down’s that took place since it was out first as we are coming together to have a Winter Revelry, the date is not set in stone as of yet. If you came to the Midsummer and had a blast, you want to join in for the next one. All you have to do is speak to someone that was running it which means yes you can send me a message here in Tumblr. I will be willing to point you the correct area to join in for this. I will be heading up with my OCD skills of keeping the numbers, collections of items donated as well being the reminder of the characters that I have on that server. Heck that crazy Orc Monk will make her appears as she so loves any of the events that are based in the Winter time.
Through out the World of Azeroth, we can see another planet as it becomes closer an closer to Azeroth. Thanks to our Lovely .. Illidan working with the nice keystone the Planet known as Argus appears in our sky. Argus was one the home of the Draenei, that is correct even though many would get into debate that Draenor was there home. Nope they went there to Escape Argus after the Legion took over.. but sadly the Legion started to spew out to the rest of the planets til they came to Draenor which at our time we known the area as Outlands. Got to love all that time hoping around that took place as some of the original lore of this game got pretty much tossed out the window.
So yes, patch 7.3 is now Live, the new zone area will have 3 weeks til everything is open up for the players to enjoy. Right now you can make your way from either Stormwind or Orgrimmar which will take you to the Exodar (Aka Space-goat country land) to get on the ship known as the Vindicaar. After the seen takes place of showing you arriving to the planet you pretty much go straight into battle with the Legions. Where we meet two Heroes that have been missing, if you place Alliance or if you ever went to sack Stormwind city as a Horde player. At the front of Stormwind, just right past the Gates there are two large statues. That is Human as another is a Elf, these two people like a key role as their only child a Half Elf stayed on Azeroth not knowing or understanding where his parents went to let alone why. It’s not just a reunion of Parents with their child which is a man and has fallowed in the light just like his father did. But with his Aunt as it’s difficult to explain to her sister to what have become to Sylvanas who is now the Warcheif to the horde. Her story is sad to learn of her fate since she disappeared not knowing what took place and why she is the way she is now at present point in time.
Tuesday will open up more of the story as you work with the Army of the Light as well with the new Instance that will open up, where you will have to fight a Fallen Naruu that has become the void.
This Sunday, September the 3rd starts a full week of one of the favorite Faires that take place in the World of Warcraft game, that is right people the Darkmoon Faire is about to start. Get all those books and items ready to turn in for Tickets! There are so many things you here can enjoy, games, pvp matches, racing games, a chance to increase your Professions by 5 points as well to Rock out of the Metal group area. Pets, toys and well so much more as well you can just kick back and enjoy the fireworks.
Darkmoon Faire you can enter at any Horde or Alliance Cities including Old Dalaran. Sadly there is no way to get there with the new Dalaran.
Pirate Day, a 2 day World Event in the game is coming out. Who does not like dressing up as a Pirate??? Even I enjoy it, On September 19th & 20 is the two day event. Come out of Booty Bay ‘BB’ get on top of the roof of the Bank and rise your mug high in the air to drink with our beloved Captain Demeza. But if you have issues getting out to BB then you can celebrate the two day event at any of your Faction Cities.
Right after Pirate Day ends, one of the most favorite ( in my view one of the busiest World Events) World of Warcraft Events kicks off. “BREWFEST!!” Where Blizzard pretty much gives loves to all those well known drunk Dwarves and Orcs in the game. The Event starts on September the 20th, yet that is right once Pirate Day ends this event begins, it ends on October the 6th.
During this event, it’s okay to be that Drunk running around doing stupid this.. but um --- be careful when you get on a flying mount you might end up killing your character. If you are gonna ask how I know about this then you won’t get answer from me.
Well that wraps up the Info of this happening this month, if you would like me to post something about a event that is going on just let me know. It does not have to be on the WrA server, just give me the info of things you want other people to know about. I do have a busy life outside of the WoW community and being a wonderful parent to my special little girl. At the end of this month I will be celebrating her birthday as well as my fathers. So love out to everyone that I know as well that enjoys reading the random things I post up here. Including the re-blogging from the many of people that I fallow, friends and including people I work with in this growing community of Gamers.
Bless Be everyone! And Well met!

Happy Birthday
You’d have been 31 today, I wonder what it would have been like now. Would things still be as bad at home? Would we still be bouncing between being at one another’s throats then another totally fine? Would we still be whispering “Be careful she’s on politics again” when you came online?
Through hindsight, wonderful wonderful hindsight, it’s easy to see how toxic things were. So often things I said were trampled over or you’d storm off, my own OCs “changed” to fit your own agenda when it came to relationship stuff, discovering Ace as a word yet acting like nothing changed, things had to be done your way or else... You were blunt, opinionated, always right and nowadays I wonder if some of that was Texan republican showing.
But that was never everything was it? You did these things yet still happily took my mother playing WarCraft under your wing and showed her stuff like the infamous cube incident in Silvermoon. You lived for Brewfest coming back around each year and the guild chaos of the four of us in an instance. You listened to my rants, frustrations and upsets when yet again my dad let me down, gave Orthae and Valahrr their names and got just as excited over these ocs of mine and being the only one who knew as much as me.
There is also no getting round how godamn toxic your own household was. From the screaming matches, the emotional abuse from the permanently angry mother shouting from her wheelchair, your dad punching holes in the wall or threatening the animals or even leaving you to starve which ignores the worst things he did in your final months. You were trapped there first as her carer then because you physically couldn’t escape anymore.
I still remember we were doing a run to get Baron’s mount in Strat when your mother suddenly couldn’t breathe, she was ripping her oxygen off and screaming not to take her to hospital. You hated her yet were more scared she was going to die. I still remember you telling her about your ghost hydra Erebus in her hospital bed and that she died the day after.
There is a point to this though. Since I’ve ended up a memory keeper, one of few people holding traces that you ever existed these past five years I’ve been paranoid about doing anything with the characters we RPed with nearly every night. Even if it’s little things like minor changes a design that is in dire need I’ve felt guilty about it because you were an integral part of who they are and can’t see what I’m doing. Would you like it? Hate it? The designs have always been mine but without you they might not have been who they are.
I think it’s time for me to start letting that guilt go. Keep the memories of the threads, progress and rework the stories while removing the things I hated and made little sense but never dared say otherwise lest another argument break out. It won’t be cutting you or yours out, I’m still attached as hell to Kale he is going freaking nowhere, but the things routed in gross crap is going as they should have a long time ago so I can reclaim the characters. The forced romances that made no sense, out. Trying to break my own race/species stuff to one up mine? Sorry, gone.
I think if I stop holding everything back so it’s like 2011 or before so they might become something new you’d still have been proud of. I hope so anyway, I need the room to breathe.
I may never know what happened that January in 2012 but I hope it finally gave you the escape from the life of suffering you had, and that you went knowing you did matter to someone, even if it wasn’t to the man who should have.
Anyway, Happy Birthday.

Single Review: “The World is On Fire” by American Aquarium
The lead single from Things Change (slated for release on June 1st via New West Records) surely left some fans feeling like American Aquarium was heading in a different direction. They are and most certainly will continue to blaze a new path for the band, however, the latest single from it should ease those minds as it affirms that the Raleigh-based alt-country outfit isn’t doing anything too drastic. “The World is On Fire” feels like an instant classic from American Aquarium, one that fits in line with the material from their last couple of albums or so. Mining more of a country vein with hints of Americana, it’s more restrained than the single that preceded it, it relies heavily on the work of Adam Kurtz, whose pedal steel guitar is a crucial component of the track. It alone nicely captures and accents the emotions conveyed in the lyrics, sounding melancholy at times while also countering that with an underlying sense of optimism and hope. Despite the more relaxed vibe the percussion is no less substantial, Joey Bybee providing a robust groove, being steadfast as he lays down the thick beat courtesy of the kick drum. Those two instruments are at the forefront of the single, the guitars and bass further adding to the flare but taking a backseat in this instance.
And, like all American Aquarium songs, it is the story that unfolds that really sets it off and allows it to be a truly gripping piece of work. With “The World is On Fire” BJ Barham has crafted the next great anthem for the band he founded and helms. It’s undeniable that it draws inspiration from the current climate of social issues and politics here in the United States, though Barham carefully walks the fine line that exists in those realms, making that evident without ever getting specific. For example, one could infer what the lines, “…We just stared at the TV tryin' to find some meanin'. Hopin' that we'd wake up from this dream…” are referencing, though it’s never explicitly stated. It could just as easily be about watching some tragedy unfold (i.e. a school shooting) as it could the results of the 2016 presidential election. It seems evident which one was the specific catalyst for that first verse and the song as a whole, though it’s still open to interpretation. That’s when the track really starts to evolve; and in the five-minutes plus that it runs it covers a wide spectrum. From a concerned couple who is cautious of the things they see transpiring in their country, to that man wanting to get a look at it all firsthand – Barham surely referring to his solo tour when he sings the line, “…So I packed up my car and went lookin' for answers…”. Other verses look to the past, his ancestors and what they valiantly fought for, ultimately ending with a glimpse of what’s to come, that couple – Barham and his wife – preparing to welcome their firstborn into the world, uncertain of what she will be up against. And if it isn’t perfect by the time she gets older, he’s vocal about her continuing the battle for something more pure and righteous. But even that isn’t what makes “The World is On Fire” so anthemic. It adds a tender quality to it, Barham opening up and thinking not just of himself, but his loved ones and the world his child will inherit. Still, that isn’t what makes it something of a rallying cry. It’s deep questions he ponders, such as, “When did The Land of the Free become The Home of the Afraid? Afraid of the world. Afraid of the truth. Afraid of each other.” It’s observations like, “This ain't the country my grandfather fought for, but I still see the hate he fought against…” Those are just a few of the lyrics that are geared to get one to stop and think. They’re meant to speak to the listener on an intimate level and have them self-evaluate what is going on currently in the U.S.A. And it’s capped off by the triumphant chorus. “…We just can't give in, we just can't give up. We must go boldly into the darkness and be the light.” That should loudly resonate with everyone who takes time to listen to “The World is On Fire”. That title itself suggests a viewpoint some may or may not agree is true, though that is beside the point. The point of it is that it’s up to each individual in the country to hold themselves and everyone else – other ordinary citizens to elected officials – to a higher standard. To speak up concerning egregious acts against our brethren. To pursue a righteous path where every soul is treated with the same rights and respect. And that is what makes “The World is On Fire” such a powerful track. Brewfest is in one week, so I feel I should take this moment to remind everyone that Nathan Landis Funk will be there, performing his own music, as himself, which will be really cool.

In preparation for Brewfest, which I will be attending half an hour after this posts, I finally did what I’d intended to do ages ago, and listened to Nathan Landis Funk’s music on Soundcloud.
Unbiased opinion? HOLY SHIT IT IS SO GOOD.
I mean, I’d be shocked if it wasn’t. I guess the caps and italics are warranted less for it being so bloody good and more for it lining up so well with my music tastes and sensibilities. I’d classify most of is as original folk (a genre I tend to enjoy immensely). The music is beautiful, the lyrics poetic, and the meanings poignant and resonant. And, something I personally appreciate very much, the bulk of the songs are not centered around érosish love -- which I should have anticipated, since I know Nathan Landis Funk to be a creative individual, and therefore well-the-fuck aware of all the other subjects out there one can write music about besides romance.
I recommend giving it a listen. If nothing else, do yourself a favor and check out Hymn For The Humble.
