Mounir Fatmi es un artista marroquí que actualmente expone alguna de sus obras en el maravilloso CDAN (huesca)

las obras que más me han gustado y mis reflexiones son: * las fotocopias de archivos desclasificados del FBI sobre the Black Panter Party. Han despertado en mi esa curiosidad de indagar un poco más sobre ese movimiento. Llegando a linkar la figura de Angela Davis con el partido * me ha hecho reflexionar sobre el lenguaje como arma: la democratización de la imprenta, la deconstrucción de la filosofía, la biblia, el corán, el decoro...

* los cables de antena me han acercado a Pollock, mi debilidad * la bomba de inmolación de libros cargada de conocimiento, de crítica

* la máquina que afila la calígrafia, tan bella ornamentación tal que a su vez se esconde el lenguaje bien afilado, su fragilidad y su poder * el elegante dómino de movimientos artísticos en contraposición a los políticos.  minimalismo es capitalismo o supremacismo con fascismo * el póster de 1973 donde la revista satírica Charlie Hebdo pedía estallar una bomba atómica en lo alto de la Torre Eiffel para protestar sobre la carrera armamentística francesa de aquel entonces. Titular hoy del todo impensable Leo ese texto y BIM! siento ese chispazo de luz-oscuridad y reflexiono.. Cómo en 45 años hemos reculado tanto? Dónde está el humor, la sátira, la ironía? Lo siento todo cada vez más castrado, muerto, faltan exageraciones, magia, sonrisas. A mi parecer, síntoma claro de sociedad que recorta libertades en silencio y sin cesar.

On my first day of college, I was given a task to create four pieces of work within Islamic contemporary or Traditional art. I could choose from whatever technique and process to create my final outcome and was given a week to do so. The first thing i did was do some research on the history of Islamic art and how it came to be. I then looked at images of the many different types of artistic styles as well as games children used to play and the main colors involved withing Islamic art. One particular piece I am interested in is called 'Modern Times: A History of the Machine'. Mounir Fatmi is an award winning artist whose work has featured in several international art biennials such as Venice, Lyon and Sharjah, as well as being exhibited in many esteemed galleries and museums around the globe. His work is renowned for commenting on current events and scrutinising notions of religion, ideologies and the dystopian nature of the man-made world.
