Delinquent Daddy and Tender Teacher Volume 1: Limited By Form
Yes, this is a BL. Yes, there is a steamy scene within (but it is censored and not sexualized). I think for even people that don't like BL there's pieces that they'll find enjoyable about this story. I certainly enjoyed it (though I do also like BL), but I also think there's a fair bit of critique to be had with it. So maybe once learning a little more about it through my eyes, whoever may read this will be able to make a better decision about their interest in the series.
So, it's a BL. The character designs do sort of come with the territory, as Hitsuji (the blond) fulfills the role of the sheepish (the kanji for 'sheep' is in their name) bottom, and Hatoyama (the other) takes on top in the relationship.
But that's not the focus of this volume. No, not in the slightest. But it's a romance, no? Well, yes, but the story is wildly different from that (and is what I think is the selling point on this story).
It's all about Hatoyama growing as a father with the help of Hitsuji.
Yeah, it's a more adult relationship in that regard as it follows Hatoyama being a first time parent after his ex-wife died in an accident and he was left to care for his son on his own. It's a really engaging story in that regard because the influence and purpose of the two characters extends past their relationship in regards to one another. It's all about showing how Hatoyama grows into his role as a parent and how, with the help of Hitsuji, he's able to be "taught" how to be a good parent.
And it's not perfect, either. There's stumblings and setbacks and bumps in the road here and there. It does a great job of depicting the whole rollercoaster of parenting, but in the same breath creates my biggest complaint with this volume. It's far too short.
I don't mean that in the "I need more" way, even though I do, but in the "there's so much going on that is weakened by fast pacing". And before it becomes an open-and-shut argument on the series, this was originally a one-shot. It was meant to be a self-contained story but got picked up for a longer serialization. It's tough, because it won't get revisited, but I really feel like what's shown in this volume speaks greatly to the mangaka's ability to create a compelling story.
Also, while I've got an image in front of my text, I'll just comment a bit on the art and whatnot. I already said it's got BL-ish character designs, but overall I still think the art will appeal to more than a few people. It's just that it's not out of this world or anything. I think the paneling is pretty creative and free form, but the overall storyboarding is alright. It does well enough in each regard to not drag itself down, and really lets the story and characters shine.
I did say this was a BL, yeah? Kinda easy to forget about with how I've been talking about it. But I think that's arguably one of the better types of BL. It's meant to be a regular romance, not something sexualized or scandalized. Anyways, Hitsuji takes a rather comfortable backseat through this story, so we don't actually get exposed that much to their sexuality. A few scenes here and there, which have promise, but nothing that really explores their character or how they view their sexuality. I should add though, while it's rushed and arguably even shallow, I wouldn't say these moments are bad. I think they're well thought out, actually. It's just that there's not much else surrounding them.
All in all, in spite of being rushed, I think a lot of people will enjoy this fresh story of a dad learning to become a father with the help of someone returning into his life. The characters are rather unique, the story's self-contained, and even if it's not something to gawk at the art and overall depiction of this story is technically solid. No real complaints, of course aside from it being far too short/fast paced. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the next volume brings these characters and if the pacing issue will be addressed.

I know you stopped with Motoyan Papa to Hitsuji-sensei, but the author actually concluded the series and.l there’s only a couple of untranslated chapters. Would you consider please translating them? Thank you!
It’s not really my thing, sorry, and groups that worked on it after us did almost 3 volumes, so it would be a bit weird. They both seem to still be active though, are you sure they aren’t just busy?

BLCD Review: Motoyan Papa to Hitsuji Sensei
Title: Motoyan Papa to Hitsuji Sensei (元ヤンパパ とヒツジ先生)
Author/Artist: Mizuki Tama
Release Date: 2018/12/22
Cast: Hino Satoshi x Yamashita Seiichirou
Synopsis: Hitsuji, an elementary school teacher, seemed to have destiny on his side when an unknown acquaintance, Hatoyama Keiichi, and his child come late to school only to find out the past they share together…
Review Proper
As I’ve mentioned before in my release post for HibiTsumo, I might be going on a break from scanlating indefinitely. I honestly had a feeling early on that I was going to be laid off seeing as I had only been in the company for a year and all, and I’ve accepted it to a point, but yo, I’ve always wanted to be an editor ever since the start of my relationship with Junjou Romantica HAHAHAHAHA, so saying that I’m completely okay with it would be a lie. For a while, I depended on 2gether to distract me from it all, but as the series ended in such a way, I was unexpectedly more devastated than I was before watching it. 😂 So, as I try and get my shit together and hopefully get another job, I’ll be doing the good ‘ol BLCD therapy to help me cope with the stress (jfc help me, I have 40 BLCDs lined up).
Anyway, onto the review...
I’m a Mizuki Tama fan, so I’ve actually considered buying this myself, but as these types of plots don’t really appeal to me, and I wasn’t really sold on Yamashita Seiichirou, I figured that it would be best if I just left this to chance. Fortunately for me, chance thankfully came in the form of angels and I was finally able to listen to this. 🙇♀️ As I’ve said earlier, plots like this don’t really appeal to me as much and I don’t think that I’ve ever considerably liked one before. I’m not really sure if it’s the mortal scar Kirepapa, Papa to Kiss in the Dark, and Papa Datte, Shitai gave me or my dislike of the general concept of having small children (which I am not a fan of) have a central part in the story that made me go into this warily, but surprisingly enough, I didn’t feel bad about it.
I do have an issue on Hitsuji because idk his unrequited feelings towards Hatoyama seems shallow? They never really shed much light on their relationship back when they were in school, and I just don’t understand how Hitsuji could fall in love with Hatoyama just like that. But, maybe it wasn’t a major crush like Shun’s crush for Tanahashi in Haru Made no Kyori. Hitsuji seems like he’s more scared of Hatoyama finding out that he’s gay rather than him finding out that he had a crush on him back in the day. However, the lack of drama isn’t really that big of a deal, it’s just personal preference.
Moving on to the voice work, wow. I don’t think that there’d be a better casting choice than these two. This was the most comfortable I’ve ever heard Yamashita Seiichirou in, and I hope that he’s able to do more roles in this tone of voice. It actually reminds me of Shirai Yuusuke esp his performance in Hinadori as Yuuchi (it has a similar plot, too). However, shouldn’t I say that Shirai Yuusuke reminds me of Yamashita Seiichirou because this came first??? OOOHHHH. Mizuhara-san and Jude were a bit too deep for him, but Hitsuji’s tone was just perfect. No strain, no airiness—just very smooth and clear. His role in Dekoboko Sugar Days was a bit iffy, but that was due to the shit plot and not any fault of his own. There’s no saving that even if the VAs cast for it were Namikawa Daisuke and Yoshino Hiroyuki. 😂 I put Saishuu Densha last on my 2019 log because I save my favorite works for last, so here’s to hoping that he was and will still be blessed with good performances and tone choices. 🙏
As for Hino Satoshi, I gotta admit, hearing him talk makes me panic about facing my unavoidable fate of listening to Given 5. 😂 But kudos to him because although I was hearing Noiz and Akihiko from him in the first few minutes, he was able to make his Hatoyama stand apart from them. Hatoyama’s a little more gentle than the stoic Noiz and Akihiko, so that was refreshing to hear.
OH! I FORGOT TO MENTION! Speaking of Hinadori, my god, I completely thought that they brought in a bonafide child on set because Hinata really sounded like a child, but it was Amasaki Kouhei! His voice in Golden Sparkle was considerably deeper, so I was caught off guard! What the heck? He’s got a great future waiting for him in both anime and BL (boy got casted in metro tho, so idk if that’s something to celebrate), I guarantee it! He and Horie Shun should be great pals!
So, we’ve got a pretty well executed plot, great voice acting and chemistry (there’s not much of a mambo here, but I really loved that extra where Hatoyama tries to host Hitsuji and failed 😂), and a pretty close accuracy to the manga. If you want to listen to something short and sweet that doesn’t have a lot of drama, this is for you. There also isn’t a lot of complicated words, so this should be good for beginners, too. I think this is a good BLCD to listen to if you want to lift your spirits up in this period. 👍

You know that BL manga trope where a single dad with one child runs into a past childhood friend/classmate and the three of them become an inseparable family? Or just this trope where there's two father figures for the child/children and they form a family dynamic?
Give me as many mangas about it as you possibly can. I'll read the shit out of it. That's my comfort trope.
Following are some examples of this trope(omegaverse included)
Motoyan Papa to Hitsuji-sensei
Kazoku Ni Nattemimasenka?
Take to Kota to Aoto
Sekai wa Shippo de Dekiteiru
Everyday is a Good Day
Kiraide Isasete
Tabun Korekara Ai No Hibi to
I feel like I've read a lot more than these but I can't remember them right now
Anyways, do give them a try <3

Hello guys! Since we all love bl manga, do you happen to know any other like Thoroughbred wa Yuruganai that ends with children or includes them? I've read very few but still I'm fairly new to this genre and it's just so adorable!
There's quite a number of BL manga with kids. Not sure if you want explicitly mpreg or not, so I'll list some that are and some that aren't. Hope you find something new to read.
Tadaima Okaeri by Ichikawa Ichi (omegaverse/mpreg/slice of life)
Oh my hero! by Kokomi (single dad/sentai hero)
Hinadori wa Shiokaze ni Madoromu by Minadzuki Yuu (MC takes his nephew in)
Sado no Otoko o Otosu Houhou by Yamaomi (MC takes care of lil’ bro/dub-con)
Kiraide Isasete by Hijiki (omegaverse/mpreg/rape mentioned)
Kekkon Shite kudasai! by Tsurugi Ichido (omegaverse/mpreg)
Ookami Papa wa Hitsujitsura Shite Yatte Kure by Kurusu Haiji (single dad)
Sorenari ni Shinken Nandesu by Asou Kai (single dad)
Motoyan Papa to Hitsuji-sensei by Mizuki Tama (single dad/teacher)
Honjitsu wa Ohigara mo Yuku by Fukushima Yucca (kemomimi/mpreg)
Bokura no Shokutaku by Mita Ori (ML takes care of lil’ bro/wholesome).
These are some of the manga I’ve read, but you can check out the tags lgbt parent or mpreg on mrm. Mangaupdates also has the tags seme with kid and mpreg.
