Crime Comedy Show Idea (yes, I know it's been done to death, but still): A detective with Tourette's (phonic and minor motor tics because major motor tics would likely result in this detective not being allowed a gun, etc.) struggling to deal with other cops, suspects, and an overprotective family, and to explain to the odd but REALLY attractive barista at the nearby Starbucks that 'no, my name -shit- isn't Angelie Fuck Barrens, I have -your tits look nice- Tourette's.'

For those confused, I decided that her name is Angelie Barrens, she's a lesbian, and she's going to have a slow burn romance with a Starbucks barista who comes from a rich family named Jack Rinnson.

NO, she will not have relationship issues. I fucking hate those plotlines. She and Jack will have a happy, healthy relationship after a torturously slow romantic subplot. There will be random parts of the show in which Angelie is brought by Jack into the rich world, and it will be fucking hilarious when the nouveau rich and the old moneys alike are shocked by her asking for a 'glass of -tits- -tits- -tits- champagne.'

Also, no sex scenes. I dislike sex scenes. Violently crashing into stuff while pulling off clothes and then fading to black is fine.

My largest exposure to Tourette's has been Sweet Anita, if you hadn't noticed, but that's largely what I'm going for anyway.

Feel free to use this idea, in fact, please do. I'd love to see this one day.

Roberta Cowell (1918-2011)

Roberta Cowell was the first woman to medically transitioned in the UK. Michael Dillon was very important to her transition and they may have even had a romantic or sexual relationship. Cowell also served in World War II as a fighter pilot prior to her transition. In 1944 her engine was shot down by a German aircraft. She thankfully survived the crash but was imprisoned by Germany. She was released 6 months later after weeks of interrogation and solitary confinement.

In 1948 she started to struggle with her gender identity and depression which caused her to leave her wife a see a physiatrist. She later started taking hormone therapy and formed a close friendship with Michael Dillon, the first man to medically transition. Since Dillon was studying medicine, she let him perform an illegal orchiectomy (surgical removal of the testicles) which allowed her to change her legal sex to female. She later got more gender-affirming surgeries performed by the plastic surgeon Harold Gilies. She started gaining fame in 1954 from news of her transition in British news papers. After gaining this much fame and popularity, she continued pursuing her passion in motor racing. Cowell gained even more popularity after winning the 1957 Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb. Despite her success, she was banned from the Grand Prix.

At the age of 93, she died in 2011. Although she had gained fame, only 6 people attended her funeral.
