Same anon about the bug kids, yeah no worries you answered what I was curious about 👍 That makes lots of sense given AT's mutant/hybrid/cosmic kids.

• would roll a dung ball for you. Most likely baby food but technically a marriage proposal since dung beetles use it as for food/attract mates/ feed young

• since children would be from a shape shifter for a dad, the kids I assume would either have similar disguises or their own version of Scarab’s disguises.

• as for how newborn looks like, tbh it depends on your preference:

A) babies come out like larva and slowly learn how to shapeshift

B) due to Scarab having a human form, the kids can come out looking human but with Some of Scarab’s traits

C) YN somehow lays eggs, and hatch to look like either A or B or little Scarabs with YN’s traits mixed with Scrabby

• I assume birth like a human? And possibly 9 months like regular birth.

• toddlers can look human, but face looks like Scarabs angry unmasked face when throwing a tamper tantrum

• your kids can climb walls

• Idk if it would be multiple like a brood or 1-3 per birth

• Scarab would admire YN, even with stretch marks. As it’s a beautiful and natural process. (He traces his finger along the marks as he admires YN in their progress

• YN doesn’t have to be female, as I don’t mind going by SIMS logic

• As Demi gods, the kids are immortal but can still cry if they run head first into the table

• they would try to make paper plate masks to look like their dad’s until they get their own when they grow up

• chaotic and full of energy, Also full of strength (they would get it from scarab

• if YN is another species other than human, the kids will be hybrids of that (ex. Moth-beetle babies, two different types of beetles, T-Rex…. Just saying)

• they are very curious and make similar sounds to the little Scarabs

• imagine the kids shape shifting for Halloween… even cuter if they try to look like their dad when he changes. Like a family of mummy Scarabs…

As someone who loves fan families and such, I’m ok with writing out a family fic where Scarab is a good husband.

Ok actually though since I’m on an insektors kick rn I’m gonna do some species headcanons rq since idk if they’re actually set in stone? Well, if they are feel free to correct me lol. 

soooo starting with the Verigreens: - Fulgor is a fire ant. Apparently the wiki says he’s a walking stick, but I don’t believe that for a second. He’s ant-shaped and fiery!! -Alex is a mission blue butterfly. -Pyro is an imperial moth. I know he really ought to be a butterfly, but I think moth fits better because of his antennae-- they look more voluminous, like a moth’s. (also I really couldn’t find any butterflies that looked that much like him...) -Daltonio is a green bottle fly. -Magus is a walking stick I think? I’m going to say he’s a pink winged walking stick, because most walking sticks don’t really have wings, and a lot of the ones that do have very flashy patterns on them. The pink winged variety are just all one color. 

As for the Kruds: -Queen Bakrakra is DEFINITELY a ghost mantis. No question about it, the head shape and color line up perfectly! -Prince Maximillian could either be a ghost mantis OR a Carolina mantis... I’m not really sure, I don’t think his head shape is nearly as distinctive as Bakrakra’s... Maybe he’s a hybrid then? -Krabo is a smokey brown cockroach.  -Teknocratus is a maize weevil. I know they’re not really blue, but they are pretty shiny and colorful... and covered in spots. -Lukanus is a stag beetle (go figure, it’s literally in his name LOL)... I’m not sure exactly which one so I’ll go ahead & say he’s a hybrid. There’s TONS of stag beetles but I can’t think of any that are black with gold horns. -Kretinus is a granary weevil. It’s amazing how close in species he and Teknocratus are, they’re nothing alike lol! -Krabouic and Kaboche are green-head ants. They’re not exactly green, but the actual ants are mostly black with green iridescence anyways. They’re also really spikey, much like Kaboche and Krabouic’s armor! -I actually have no idea what Kopius is. Any pointers lol?? Maybe he’s a scarab beetle? that’s probably not right....... -Erik and the Methane brothers (I actually forgot what their names were! also do they have different names in the NA dub?) are all rhinoceros beetles, with Erik being a coconut rhinoceros beetle specifically (his armor texture reminds me of their shells).

I figured I’d put this list together because I actually want to work on a few fan characters for once... and I’m trying to determine the species I want them all to be. The new characters will be a ladybug, a stinkbug, a mayfly, and a spider... I’m not sure which type of spider but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.

EDIT: I’ve done some thinking and Krabouic and Kaboche are probably actually SHIELD BUGS or SQUASH BUGS which are related to stinkbugs... I say this bc their body shapes are kind of similar to the bugs irl and they look like they don’t have thoraxes, which is reminiscent of shield bugs because they also look like they only have 2 body segments. Plus, it’s kind of punny... of course the soldier bugs are shield bugs! actually there’s another stink bug relative called a soldier bug, but those are light brown so I don’t think they’d work.

Tries to make a proship OC, accidentally makes a whole somewhat problematic species. I’m just gonna paste my notes here:

Bug-like centaur type of dude, his species mostly lives underground so they are uncommonly seen by surface species. Eight limbs + a tail with a stinger, secondary pair of arms is smaller, more insect like, and typically held close to the body like mantis arms. The “queen” of a colony.

Only the “queen” role looks and thinks exactly like people, the other roles are more feral and have only six limbs. The drones look a little more dog-shark-dragon-like and always walk with all their limbs on the ground while the workers are more slender and can choose between tauric and feral movement. Soldiers are like workers and drones fused together, but are overall bigger than either of them. Like the workers, soldiers can shift between movement styles.

The “queens” are hermaphroditic and must mate multiple times, drones and “queens” from other established colonies can make a new “queen” but to clone more workers, drones, and soldiers the “queen” breeds with drones from their own colony. New “queens” take an entourage of drones and soldiers from their birth colony to spawn their first workers, and then once a nest is established they send out pheromones which will mark their territory and attract non-related drones to the new colony. They will also breed with any drones found along their journey.

Hybridization with other species can occur, the child takes after the one that birthed it more than the one who didn’t. DNA from other species can be integrated into the species if a “queen” carries interspecies offspring rather than impregnating another creature. Monsters with atypical traits have been created from impregnation of non-similar species (like a werewolf with chitin plates instead of fur)

There is a theory that this hybridization happened with people from a different species a long time ago and that’s why this species isn’t entirely feral.

Here’s a pic of the sketch showing the position and general shape of the secondary arms of a “queen”. (Queen is in quotes bc they can have any gender identity and may look masc or fem.)

The queen’s ears can be elf-like or round. They can have antennae, beetle horns, demon-looking or unicorn-looking horns, moth-like fur, basically any combo of traits you want as long as it has insect vibes. If they have wings they might not be able to fly though, their bodies are pretty long and probably too awkwardly shaped for flying.

My OC uses he/him pronouns and only likes men/masc folks. Idk what to name him or the species yet. Feel free to make your own if you want, just give credit so people can find this post!
