Hi! What is on your TBR list for 2024?

Hi, thanks for asking about my TBR! While I haven't nailed down a super detailed list to work through, there are some novels that I've been eyeing for a while now and I hope this year I will get around to reading them!

medium by Aizawa Sako A supernatural mystery that caught my eye after reading JTalkOnline's review about it last year.

本を守ろうとする猫の話 by Natsukawa Sosuke I admit I was mostly captured by the pretty cover ;) I don't know much about the plot, but am looking forward to be surprised.

十角館の殺人 by Ayatsuji Yukito Missed the 2022 book club on Natively for this serial killer mystery and is has been on my TBR ever since. Maybe this year!

鹿の王 by Uehashi Nahoko Tried it twice in 2023, stumbled with the language and never processed past the first 50 pages. Maybe third time's the charm haha

すべて真夜中の恋人たち by Kawakami Mieko I've been curious about the author and picked up this book by her because it was rated positively. I don't know anything about the plot, so this one's a surprise too.

ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 by Mikami En This light novel series was a spontaneous haul last year! It's about a secondhand bookstore and mysteries so it seemed to be right up my alley :)

For 2023 it was my goal to read one novel each month, but I soon realized that this proved incompatible with working full time. So for 2024 I'm aiming for 6-8 novels in Japanese.

You know, while I am excited about Star Trek: Prodigy coming to Netflix on December 25th, I have decided we will take a Break Discussing about ST: Prodigy for a while and let's talk about some new other topic.

Or else, People will think, this blog is more focused about Star Trek: Prodigy!!

So let's talk about an animated series which, some of you don't know, this even exists!! Because, you haven't heard of this series yet or unknown about!!

Look, I am from India, the mostly populated country and developing country in the whole world!! And when we talk about Animation in India, there might be a chance, you won't know anything about Indian Animation. Because, for years, India's Entertainment Industry, didn't even rely upon Animation. Especially, Bollywood Industry. Because, Bollywood Industry haven't been relying upon Animation, a Vast Medium of all things Live-Action Counterpart cannot achieve. Granted, there are VFX existed on Live-Action things, but not Animation!! Because, People are Unaware of that "Animation is not for Kids Only, it's for Everyone."

As an Animation Fan, you know, discovering new things is a habit.

I always think, when will India create their own Super-Creative Animated Series?? If Australia can create Bluey, then why not India??

But then, something happened in Early 2021, that is Unbelievable!!

Before I touched upon ST: Prodigy, in 2021, there was an Indian Animated Series, which I think, it could be the next big thing for Animation!! And it has the Potential to be India's "Avatar: The Last Airbender"!!

Yup, I am talking about "The Legend of Hanuman"!! It's an Original series from the Indian Version of Disney+, called as Disney+ Hotstar, labeling as Hotstar Specials!!

No, it's not from Disney or Pixar or Marvel, in fact, it has nothing to do with Disney, whatsoever, except from giving a boost to this series' massive popularity in India!! It is made by Indian Animation and Comics creation Studio, Graphic India!!

It is based upon and Centred around Lord Hanuman, the important character from Saint Valmiki's Ramayana, which is an Indian Hindu Mythological Epic.

For those, who don't know about Ramayana, Google Search about and Research Ramayana!! You will get the Idea!!

This series is about Hanuman's Journey from being an ordinary Vanara (Humanoid Monkey) to becoming a Legend.

This series has the same plot as Ramayana, but centring around Hanuman, he is the Main Character for the show only.

Yeah, yeah, I know, there are many series and Movies made upon Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram!! But for me, after Ramayana: the Legend Of Prince Ram by Indian Animation veteran Ram Mohan and Japanese Animator Yugo Sako released in 1992, this series has etched a special Place in my Heart and Mind, to be honest with you!!

First of all, the elements in Animation, it's not like movie quality like Star Trek: Prodigy, as it's aspect ratio is 16:9 HDTV Format, but the quality is still up to the mark, especially when you rewatch this series entirely or freshly watch it. You will get some good quality Animation in it.

And the Visuals and VFX, all are outstanding!! Every aspect you see is detailed!!

Second, is the Audio mixing, Voice Dubbing and Music. Most of the People voice casting in this series in The Original Hindi Version are the people who excelled in Hindi Dub, for example Sanket Mhatre as Lord Ram, Damandeep Singh Baggan or Da Man as Lord Hanuman etc.

Third, the Direction. Sharad Devarajan, Navin John and Jeevan J. Kang, are just delivering best directing in one of the Animated Series based upon Hindu Mythology Epic. Even Sharad Devarajan said, that he was inspired from Japanese Animator Hayao Miyazaki's "Princess Mononoke" to make this series.

And finally, this series has so much story to tell about Lord Hanuman and his journey from being an ordinary Vanara to Serving Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman to save Lord Ram's Wife, Princess Sita to becoming an Icon for everyone, a legend.

It has Two seasons both released in 2021 with 13 episodes each and The Third season is in production and releasing on January 2024.

As I said, before it is available on Disney+ Hotstar in India, and for the US Viewers, they can watch it on Hulu (Merging with Disney+ later in 2024) in the Hotstar Hub. This series has been dubbed in 7 different Languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Malayalam, and Marathi and Subtitled in English.

And talking about 9.2/10 on IMDb, it's the first Indian Animated series to cross 9/10 Rating on IMDb!! For other than India, Only I know as of yet, A:TLA and Bluey got this rating above 9 out of 10

It has a record 9.2/10 Rating on IMDb and in fact, in 2021, according to Ormax Media, it has become the first Indian Animated Series to cross 8.5 million Viewers in the first 10 days after Season 2 of it was premiered!! A Whopping 8.5 million viewers!! No animated series in a paid streaming service in India has done it before, and proof that Indians are very optimistic about "The Legend Of Hanuman" and praising the Animation and the Creative Lore of it!!

If you have time, please watch "The Legend of Hanuman" on Disney+ Hotstar in India and Hulu in the US, it is the series you really need to watch out for and worth the Time and Money!!

And I cannot praise more and I also cannot wait for what's in Store for Season 3 of it!!

Are there any characters from BNHA you ship Dabi with?

Of course, though I need to pre-face this question by saying that shipping isn't my focus for the blog or Dabi. He's very demiromantic and struggles a bit with the idea of emotions and feelings towards others, incredibly slow-burn, but the right click and interest can lead into a ship. Note I'm excluding sexual things because that's a whole other topic.

That being said! I have a couple of people who are my OTPs when it comes to shipping with Dabi:

Keigo Takami (Hawks)

Atsuhiro Sako (Mr. Compress)

Geten (Iceman)

Tomoyasu Chikazoku (Skeptic)

Past that, there's a couple of others I situationally ship but it's mostly tied into the person I'm RPing with. Like Tomura Shigaraki for example, who I don't dislike as a ship with Dabi, but it simply hasn't developed anywhere RP-wise for me at this current time to grab onto it.

Honestly past that? I approach shipping in a very relaxed sort of way. I firmly believe any characters can work as a ship if the time is put into getting them there, even if its a pairing that is super rare or something no one ever considered in the first place. As long as the two characters click in the right way and the writers want to explore that? I'm down for it.

So now how about Toga, Shigaraki, twice, compress, hawks, Geten, nine, slice, chimera and mummy meeting a new member with some kind of godlike quirk, but when they meet her it turns out that she's pretty af but dumb as anything. Like literally trips head over heels, is accidentally hilarious, laughs at absolutely anything and is extremely clumsy. Like she literally is 100 times stronger than afo but she can't even remember where her house is lmao thanks

-Not gonna lie, it confuses her at first. I mean usually when you’re so powerful, you’re vindictive right? I mean that’s what she learned from watching AFO or even when she’s just watching fictional villains in movies. So when she meets you, she’s more like...”What the hell??? Is this a side effect of the quirk?” Well all quirks should have a weakness right? Anyway, she likes you like this because it shows despite your power, you’re just a normal human being too. She also thinks your personality is pretty cute lol

~Shigaraki~

-Literally face-palms himself at you a million times a day. Like how can someone so powerful be so stupid? Take no offense to him saying this (it’s to be expected). Despite that, he does everything in his power to keep you away from AFO. If you end up being found, he at least makes sure you lie about your quirk or something (this is before Afo steals Ragdoll’s quirk btw). The reason is because Shiggy is scared master will either turn you into an unstoppable Nomu, or take your quirk and ultimately...your life. Tomura cannot let that happen, especially since he’s grown rather fond of you (fallen in love). 

~Twice~

-Sees your personality and thinks nothing of it. You’re no different to him just because you could possibly take over the world if you really applied yourself. The reason why is because Jin looks at you and sees the type of person you are outside of your insane abilities. He much rather prefers watching you laugh at your own slipping in the kitchen than watching you destroy half the city. He makes sure you don’t join the league because he just doesn’t want you to be used by them. Of course he fails and you end up being the new member anyway. You have to stop him beating himself up about it and you remind him that you do what you want with your power despite anyone else’s opinions.

~Compress~

-Very impressed with you and will help you tighten up on any skills you might be lacking...which isn’t a lot to be honest. Mostly he’s really amazed at how mundane and domestic you can be. You could be halfway across the world making it rain fire on an entire region but here you are in the grocery store tapping watermelon to see which one is fresh or not. He finds it both amazing and endearing at the same time. Sako realizes the he wouldn’t want it any other way.

~Hawks~

-He loves laughing things out with you when you find silly things hilarious. He’s just about the same so you two couldn’t be anywhere serious in public because you both would be kicked out for snickering to each other lol. Keigo spends a LOT of time making sure you don’t accidently kill yourself around the house with how clumsy you can be. “I can’t believe I have to put cushions on the edge of the table because of you.” He teases while you gasp at him. “Excuse me sir, but it’s not my fault the carpet was extra slippery that day!” You two laugh it out and he’s seriously planning on making you his wife/husband/partner someday. Right now his main goal is to keep you AND your quirk out of the eye of the hero commission!

~Geten~

-Pretends like he hates it, but he absolutely makes it his life goal to be your protector. You forget a lot of shit and you’re pretty ditzy most of the time...okay, all of the time, but he loves you for it. No matter how many times you catch him rolling his eyes at you throughout the day, he still does everything for you out of love. Geten just wants to make sure you remain safe in his arms but he will NEVER admit that to you so don’t try and get him to lol. Despite all of this, he loves asking you to challenge him to a spar so he can sharpen his skills and become better. You beat him every time and of course he’s fuming, but when he looks at that perfect smile while you’re laughing at him, his heart just kinda flutters. 

~Nine~

-Super worried about you in today’s society. He has a very strong quirk himself (one that’s killing him slowly as a result), so he knows how rough things can be. If your quirk doesn’t fit into the nice little box that society has created, then you’ll likely be shunned. However, he notices this isn’t the case with you. Despite having a massively powerful quirk, you seem to behave as if you don’t have one! In fact, you act as though you don’t have much of a brain either lol. He might find some peace of mind when he catches you flicking the door stop in the living room and laughing at the vibration sounds it makes. “What on Earth?” He laughs before hugging you tightly. Maybe he’s worried for nothing.

~Slice~

-She knows you probably share a braincell with like one other person but she’s okay with that. You’re like the light of her life basically. She’s not always the confident and arrogant sexy woman that she seems. Sometimes she has trouble finding motivation to get out of bed in the mornings. Thank God she has you to come in the room and bite her nose like a weirdo. You laugh and it’s contagious because now she’s sitting up in the bedroom laughing while rubbing her sore nose. You’re powerful, but you don’t flaunt it and that is perhaps one of the reasons why she adores you the most of all. You are unapologetically you, and Slice loves it!

~Chimera~

-”You’re one fry short of a happy meal, aint cha?” He says with a sigh as he watched you try to pull a door open that said ‘push’ on the handle. “Oh, whoops! haha!” He smirks to himself and shakes his head. You might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he still loves you. With so much power, he sometimes feels like it’s a waste but then he watches you try to shove an ice cube in a water bottle under the idea that ‘it’ll melt soon’ and he figures it must be for the best right? Best believe if anyone insults your intelligence beside him, he’ll kill them. He knows you’re strong enough to protect yourself but you just don’t...because you were probably too busy zoning out to notice some asshole insulted you

~Mummy~

(I think this is the first time I’ve written for him since adding him to the list. Whoooo!!!)

-He gets a little frustrated thinking about all the power you have just going to waste while you’re sitting here watering plants in the apartment and bumping into the bookshelf literally every day. He might actually end up fussing about it a little bit but if he upsets you then he’s going to apologize (mostly because he’s scared you’ll destroy him if he doesn’t). Despite this, he’s going to try and motivate you towards some for of training or villainy. It’s up to you whether or not you choose hero/villain/or civilian. Either way, he admits he still loves you even if you two don’t always see eye to eye. He can’t see himself without you!

-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL

-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. I want to touch his hair. hes never done anything wrong in his life. he could kill all might, deku, bakugo, whatever, I’d still be sayin this. I don’t feel bad for gt. like. was anyone genuinely attached to him? lmao

-well u know how spinner’s quirk is just sticking to things? We haven’t seen him use it in canon except like, (1) time iirc?? I think this is probably bc he’s embarrassed about it even in front of the league... I loooove the idea that he gets more comfortable with it around them :”) and also how shigaraki. um. does that falling asleep thing while standing up with his eyes open, canonly? (which I still love lmfao) Imagine someone in the league walking in a dark room, turning on the light n just seeing. Spinner upside down, stuck to the ceiling asleep bc heat rises and its Warmer Up There. (cold blooded thing like tsuyu?? come ON give him a big fuzzy coat and scarf...) and Shigaraki in the center of the room, slouched but still standing, eyes open and motionless. Theyre both sleeping. Whomever sees it just...slowly walks out. LMAO

-Toga roller derby au. No deep thoughts I just think she’d be good at it. 

-Toga 100% is a social butterfly and could befriend anyone if they didn’t just judge the fact she was trying to stab them smh :/ (ok but seriously anytime I see cute friendships with her n the other kids im like :) aw. I feel like her and Camie...would be good friends. Camie feels chill enough to be like ‘ok whatever thats totally fine I forgive you!!’ LMAO we love airheads here)

-HOW DID TOGA GET SO GOOD AT FIGHTING? We know she’s been on the run since middle school or so, but good enough to pin Deku down after he’s been formally trained at a ~hero school~ for a while? (she pinned him TWICE I think, once when his arms were messed up, but, the other time as Camie, so? AND THEN WAS ONE OF THE 100 PEOPLE TO GO THRU TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THAT? even tho she didn’t bc she had to leave) good enough to beat Aizawa in a fight and stab him? A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/

-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)

-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)

-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too. 

-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun

-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO

-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)

-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho

-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?) 

-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)

-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! Listen. text/chatfics CAN have plot and be an interesting way to tell a story. I almost want to write one just to show what I mean...

I know I’ve said I like spinaraki and blackmagic, but I am a multishipper, so a few ships I don’t talk about that I like that involve the lov in some way:

-toga/any of the 1A girls??? or Camie??? super interesting. ALSO in the radio drama, bakugo’s voice actor said Toga was his favorite girl??? so?? bakugo/toga ?? I WANT TO SEE IT. but specifically my fav dynamic with her is when someone ELSE is the one to like her first, it’s what she deserves.

-Kurogiri/aizawa/mic?? any variety of that is also 👌🏻 I also kinda wanna see kurogiri/all might bc. Dads. COME ON. they bond over ‘well, I raised him, and you want to have a part in his life now?? ok. earn it. prove it. I’ll screen you first’ or something LMAO they’re both genuinely concerned for the boy, and SOOO biased. let them bond.

-WAIT WHERE IS THE MIC/COMPRESS CONTENT. THEYRE BOTH DRAMATIC. ENEMIES TO LOVERS?? HELLO??? SOMEONE?? ANYONE. rarepair hours

-giran/twice is cute. like he was hyping him up so much and so ready to go save him...

-dabi/magne where is the content. when. why not everywhere??? I’ve also seen magne/compress which was cute!! or twice/magne? they’re the big sibs of the lov...

-dabi/spinner?? come ON dabi could get over his learned biases and spend time with him and they could hold hands. I want them to.

-dabihawks. Obviously bc the Drama. yes even still, don’t @ me. (also, shigahawks, seen some REAL interesting fics with it tbh) or spinahawks?? adding hawks to a ship is like adding extra chili powder. makes it SPICY dramatic)

-nine/tomura don’t @ me once again. both kinda afo’s playthings, nine obviously was the test for tomura’s new upgrades...they both love their friends...That Scene in the Flower field </3 hmmm tragicships are fun.

-tomura/mirko. more enemies to lovers. big fan of her and bunnies. remember when he wore bunny ears in bnha smash. (ok its crack but. CUTE.) 

-I’ve also seen shiganatsu and shigafuyu and I’m like. these are cute, but also Dabi’s reaction always makes me cry laugh. so good.

-MOST EVERYONE IN THE LOV IS LGBTQA+!!! heres my personal headcanons:

Toga: pan or bi (CANON BASICALLY)

Magne: transwoman (CANON BABEY) bi, leans towards men. (her crush on dabi in bnha smash... uwu content where)

Shuichi: gets sooooo flustered canonly, I think he’d go for the first person Who Hit On Him (I can see him being the target of those mean pranks where someone says ‘my friend likes you!!’ and the friend is like ‘eww!!’ :(((( ) he’s super hesitant for romance, lots of repressed stuff. gay but takes sooo long to realize it bc he thinks most women are conventionally pretty Aesthethically, feels obligated to Like Them, but has bad self esteem so never goes after them, then only likes (1) guy so hes like?? is this allowed?? is this allowed???? (HES LIKE. IN LOVE WITH SHIGARAKI)

Dabi: bi but rly hasn’t ever gotten to date anyone, so he’s actually more reserved about it and while he’ll tease, he absolutely is absent and kinda oblivious (again, I KNOWWWW bnha smash isnt canon, but. my god. when magne is hitting on him and he Just Doesnt Understand.) also hes ace

Zeus: How did you first meet your f/o(s)? How did you feel about each other at first?

So I was just minding my own business one day running errands when I saw a small blue marble on the ground. I picked it up to check it out and then the next thing I knew I was in the marble. So in a way, I managed to get myself kidnapped by him. While I’m trying to figure out how to get out, he finally showed up to retrieve it. He then noticed that I was trapped inside it and he actually let me out of the marble. I apologized and explained to him that I was planning on going to look for the owner of the marble and then he took me out to lunch as his apology. I found him very interesting since he was in his villain outfit. He was very cautious of me during our lunch date, maybe it was because he thought that I knew that he was villain or what, but he grew to be more relaxed over time.

Hera: How did you first start your romantic relationship with your f/o(s)? How did the way you feel about each other evolve to get to that point?

We went through a slow burn in the beginning since he was in his cautious stage for a while. Eventually as we spent more time together, our feelings for each other grew as well. Despite how charming he is, he was scared when he asked me to be his boyfriend. Now he’s a lot more relaxed and I’m super happy for him!

Apollo: What do you like best about your f/o(s)? What does your f/o(s) like best about you?

Compress is very gentlemanly which is like a breath of fresh air that I really like. He’s also super calm and collected a lot of the time, but he also knows that he can have fun! I also like how much of a father figure he is to the league! Sako likes that I’m able to come to him if anything bothers me since it shows how much I trust him! He also likes it when I make food.

Artemis: Do you have any LGBT+ headcanons for you f/o(s)? Do you share these identities? Feel free to share anything else special about your LGBT+ identities.

I headcanon Sako as either pansexual or demisexual. I feel like he would be comfortable dating whoever but he would already need a special connection with them ahead of time in order for it to flourish into a romantic relationship.

Aphrodite: How do you and your f/o(s) like to show love to each other? Feel free to include your love languages, if you find that helpful.

I tend to show my love through food! I always enjoy making Sako something to eat since I get to see him in his happiest moments! Sako’s love language is through words of affection and gifts! He definitely knows how to sweep me off my feet with his voice alone so the gifts are mostly just a bonus!

Hermes: Was it love at first sight? Slow burn with lots of pining? How fast did your relationship progress?

It was a slow burn with lots of pining. We definitely took our time with developing our relationship since we had some secret pining emotions to work out. But now we’re past that and we’re more open now!

Persephone: How different are you and your f/o(s)? How do you deal with each other’s differences?

We’re not so different from each other personality wise but more socially wise. Sako knows how to use his words effectively but I’m not the best when it comes to words. So sometimes he has to speak for me. I’m more comfortable with words when I’m around him so when we’re together I can speak more comfortablely around others.

The Erinyes: How does your f/o (or f/os) respond to someone mistreating you? Do they confront the person? Do they comfort you? 

Sako is like the others when it comes to these types of situations. Confront first and then comfort. It’s nice to have him since he doesn’t have to resort to more physical tendencies. He mostly threatens the other person with words and that normally stops them. Most people don’t want to deal with villains so he doesn’t have to try that much to be honest!

The Moirai: What is your “happy ending” for your ship? How do you end up? What kind of life do you want together?

I just want us to be happy and healthy! Our happy ending would just be us living in a small quiet town where we can just be happy together and not have to deal that city life altogether (this scenario fits all of my f/os)!

Euterpe: What song(s) suit your ship best? Any particular lyrics that fit well?

I don’t have a particular song yet so this might change later but for know it would probably be Clusterhug by IDKHBTFM! It definitely suits him well with how his mannerisms are!

Terpsichore: Have you and your f/o(s) ever danced together? What kind of dancing? Formal dress or completely informal jamming out in your home?

We have danced in both formal and informal dress at home! Since we mostly stay in a lot, we have to make use of what we have so we have had a few formal dances! They’re mainly for special occasions!

BNHA College AU (pt. 1)

The LoV

Tomura Shigaraki

Sophomore Poli Sci major with a minor he got unintentionally in Philosophy (he took so many philo courses for fun that when he got his degree it was put as his minor…oops)

His professors either hate him or love him bc he will debate them harshly in class, often twisting their words to prove his point which more than likely completely contradicts the professor’s standpoint. Other students learn quickly to stay clear out of the discussion when Tomura is arguing bc he will tear them down scathingly. His tongue spares no one. Most of his classmates, especially those in his major and that have multiple classes with him, hate his guts and love when he decides not to show up bc no one else can get a word in during discussion. He rules it and holds no punches. He’s been called in multiple times to his advisor’s office to discuss complaints. Not that Tomura cares in the slightest. It’s not his problem that other students can’t handle debates with him.

He joined the frat with the purpose of taking it over. He was a legacy and knew he was guaranteed a bid (thanks AFO). As soon as elections came up, he swooped right in and became president his second semester at college. 

Started a war with the other frat on campus after he got into an intense argument with the rival president during a party (*cough*it was with overhaul*cough*) and now everything is a competition between the two frats. From recruitment to who can throw the best party, it’s a feud. They both try to get the other frat in trouble, occasionally calling security over petty things or when the other has parties.

Has days where he always wants to be around someone and will knock on every door in the house until he finds someone to hang with or he’ll do a 180 and leave the house for a few days. No one’s quite sure where he goes. Also no one’s allowed in his room or he will throw a fit. It’s his personal space and it’s off limits for everyone who he doesn’t expressly decide to bring in. Dabi likes to jab that Tomura keeps dead bodies in there. 

Dabi

Junior history major bc he thought it would be a walk in the park...he was mistaken

Never goes to class or leaves his room, unless it’s to go smoke with Twice or for parties. He takes as many classes as he can online. The very definition of “c’s get degrees.” Completely regrets being a history major bc of all the research papers he has to write and how much of a pain researching can be, but it would be too late for him to change if he ever wants to graduate on time. And he does wanna graduate so he can stop relying on his old man’s money. 

He never goes home for breaks. He’ll stay in the frat house even over winter and summer break. He will go home with someone else if he’s invited. Jin has invited Dabi to come home with him for multiple summers after they became close and it’s become their tradition. Tomura noticed that Dabi stays over break very quickly despite it being something that’s not talked about and invited him to come with for the winter holiday as well. 

The incredibly reluctant vice president to Tomura’s president. It was the first time he ever decided to hold office, bc he decided that he could push most of the work onto Tomura and Jin. He ends up doing more work than he intended, vice often being more clerical work than president in the first place, but also bc he low key enjoys the work. And enjoys bossing everyone around. But he’s the best delegator anyone’s ever seen

Won’t see him emerge from his room for days until he runs out of his stashed food. Music is always blaring from his room to the point where almost every other frat brother has told him to turn it down and often not so nicely. When he goes for a night out, he very rarely returns home alone. Jin and Tomura who are his two neighbors either stay somewhere else until Dabi and his guest have quieted down (or he’s kicked his conquest out) or have to turn their music up if they don’t wanna hear Dabi’s bed banging against the wall.  

Chillest at parties, is the Plug(tm) and always on aux. A lot of freshman girls try to get his attention so that they can mooch off his booze and dope, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Depends solely on if he’s feeling generous that particular night or not. But bc he’s the definition of low key, he tries to keep the parties that they throw at the house from getting too crazy. No one wants the clean up nor do they want to get busted and have an infraction on the frat. Will kick people out for becoming too rowdy and heavily enforces the banned list. Just wants the parties to be chill and fun with people they like invited. Now, when the boys go out for parties, they can all be as crazy as they like bc it’s not in their home. 

Himiko Toga

Psych major with a minor in chemistry

graduated high school early so is on the younger end for being a college freshman, bc of this the boys are very protective of her during parties when other guys get a little too close

Joins basically every single club on campus after attending the club fair no matter what it is and after a couple of weeks knows basically everyone on campus. Toga ends up dropping most of them and only sticks with the sorority she joins, SGA as one of the freshman reps, and the chem club. She also tried out for the cheer squad, did it for a semester and then quit bc it was boring. Every year she goes through this cycle of joining new clubs and then dropping most if not all of them bc they can’t keep her interest

Within the sorority she’s the Social Chair and is always planning mixers with the frat. Every other week there will be a mixer between the two, most are just normal parties where the sorority goes over to the frat house and hangs out. Even if one isn’t planned, this normally occurs on the weekends. Toga herself practically lives over at the frat house bc she’s always there. She knows the door code and is usually just sitting on the common room couch if the boys are out. They’ll come back to find her there either watching tv or studying and not think anything of it. It’s abnormal if they don’t find her there. Otherwise, she’ll always knock on their doors until someone answers and invites herself in to hang out. She makes it her personal mission to get Dabi out of his room and be social. This has yet to truly succeed. 

Has constant crushes on random boys she sees at parties and talks to Jin about each and every one of them. But she never pursues them. She keeps it only to talking Twice’s ear off and stalking her would-be-crushes on social media. 

Twice/Jin Budaigawara

Maths major somehow 

he’s a two-year super senior bc he keeps failing his seminar and online classes that he forgets he has

When he does go to class he’s always late. Doesn’t matter how early he gets up, though most times it’s because he misses his alarm. Dabi lives in the room next to him and often bangs on the wall for Jin to stop his obnoxious alarm. That wakes him up. 

Somehow was elected the frat’s treasurer. He always forgets that people owe dues, so some members (Dabi) don’t pay until Jin eventually remembers…more than halfway through the semester. The frat is always able to finance their functions however, so Tomura doesn’t boot him from the position. 

Won’t do his own homework but will do others’ assignments for pay, or some weed (Dabi has him do his research papers when he’s feeling extra lazy). Will also help his fellow frat brothers and Toga on homework for the gen-ed required math course 

Spinner/Shuichi Iguchi 

Computer Science major sophomore

He aspires to be a game developer and goes religiously to class. He never wants to miss a day and the others give him shit for his perfect attendance. Also does all of his studying and homework in the library to make sure that he gets all of it done and in peace, otherwise when he’s at the frat house, someone is always bothering to play video games with him or just use his consoles. He’d rather do his work in private.

Has a student worker job as a server in the cafeteria. He prefers when he’s on kitchen duty and help prepare food, but ofc he’s almost always scheduled as a server. It’s a little more tolerable when he’s on deli duty and make sandwiches, but he hates being a server. Money is money though and he won’t quit. 

Gym rat and has thoughts about joining the wrestling team. Goes at really odd hours mostly at night after his shift at the caf to let out stress. And then after that plays hours of video games without showering. Everyone complains and Dabi has thrown soap at him to get the point across. Plays and doesn’t move until dawn. Someone functions enough to go to class and stay awake. No ones quite sure how he does it. 

He and Tomura have video game tournaments and it’s always a spectacle to see them go at it. Every week they try to best each other at a different game and it always involves major trash talk (the score is currently Tomura 56, Spinner 34 - and he’s salty Tomura beats him so much). They also talk about new releases together and revisit old favorites from their childhood. 

Mr. Compress/Sako Atsuhiro

Junior theater major with a minor in art theory 

“Come to the production we’re putting on, guys.” “Come to slam poetry tonight in the caf! There’s free food.” He will drag the others to all of his performances, often bribing them with food or alcohol. This works 95% of the time. 

He puts his all into his performances, often times getting lead roles. He’ll do his costumes himself and bring them back to the house to work on them and even props. He’s a pretty crafty guy and fixes anything that’s in need of mending in the house. All ripped clothes come to him for fixing. But, he spends countless hours preparing for his roles. He’ll often gather the boys (and Toga) in the common room and give a reading of his script, he’ll assign other parts at random and see the rest of the LoV unenthusiastically (aka just Tomura and Dabi - the rest are good sports helping Atsuhiro practice) read off the script while he puts his heart and soul into it. 

The Sergeant and Arms and the Social Chair for the frat. He enforces the rules but also plans the parties. Helps Dabi enforce the party “rules” when they throw one at the house. Keeps detailed lists of who can and cannot enter, and which brother brings which guest so that they can be held responsible. Pretty organized with his officer duties and keeps on top of things. Always tries to put on a show during the parties, whether it be magic or even getting karaoke started mostly to impress “the ladies.” Dabi likes to shut him down and tell them that’s not gonna get him laid. Also likes to host casino night and sets up tables for black jack and poker. These are always pretty fun bc he runs it like a speakeasy. “Invite only. Bet what you want at your own risk. The house will not reimburse for lost (or stolen) money.”

I slept good gabii and dali rako ka sleep kos gikan ko cry hahah but my heart is so heavy doe idkkk a lot of thoughts bother me. getting news about your lovelife makes my heart heavy because aishhh but i’m really happy for you doeee

it’s 10:30 am pa but i’m crying na aishhh why i cry in the morning and at night aishhhh why does everything have to hurt this much doe :( i really am happy for you but it hurts so, so much to see you opening your heart and giving your love to another. i’m happy na you’re going to new places and going on adventures that we didn’t have the opportunity na to go to. it hurts na we didn’t have the chance to go to these places together but i hope you fill this new chapter of your life with adventures and i hope you have the best time of your life ❤️ i’ll support u gyd bsag unsa pana 🤗 someday soon, i will get over with all this pain. somedaaaay.

I went to the backyard again this morning and I talked to the Lord doe and naka cry ko hahah I just told Him everything has been so hard doe and I wish for the bad days to end soon. Right now, I think I’m just borrowing strength nalang gyd from others doe cos my heart is so tired na doeee hehe but i know all of this will end i can fully accept na gyd everything and even then, i will always have love for you. Thank you also doe for giving me strength. 🤗

it’s back to my old life nga wala i look forward again!!! hahahaha 😢😢 I went to the dentist today to pa pasta doe and i tot everything was okay na with dad like balo na sya pila cos mom man nag say saiya doe and mom said okay na but when i said now nga 4,700 tanan including my pills he pamalikas doe i was so bv

i said to mom cancel nalang cos dad was yawyaw na big na daw au gasto saako teeth and i wasn’t the one raba gyd nga nag say magpapasta many it was mom but i thought nag agree najd sila doe aishhh i dont like gyd nga mangayo kwarta kay daddy doe cos it makes me feel utangan and i dont like feeling like dat cos i dont wanna be indebted to him i dont like having connections with him hahahah

He had never in his life expected that he would be responsible for caring for someone. He was always on the move, had a few falling outs with former friends, and his dear sister, his performance partner, stopped talking to him entirely. Moved away even. Worse still, his wife would not divorce him. He considered her an ex at this point, but as long as neither of them were apart, he was able to see their boy. He couldn’t really complain. Any time with the boy was better than no time, and Sako did everything in his power to make sure he was off work on time and pick the boy up. 

The boy’s mother was a witch, a side of her he’d never really seen nor known about until it happened. Blackmail and bribes, a borderline hostage situation, that woman did whatever she could to make sure that the boy stayed with her and if anything happened under his care, she would tip off the police to his location and have the boy taken away for good. Now, Sako was quite smart, but it wasn’t something he was willing to deal with all alone. He could come up with solutions for a lot of things but ultimately they ended with him just running away from the situation until it smoothed over. And this wasn’t going to smooth over. The most he could do was send her cash when requested and (usually) she wouldn’t blow up on him. Sako exhaled slowly through his nose and turned to look out the window of the little convenience shop. The rain had let up and the small boy splashed around in puddles outside in his yellow rain boots and jacket, illuminated by dim street lamps and neon signs above. He smiled softly and turned back to the shelves, wondering if Hiromitsu would prefer rice or udon or curry. Something warm for the cold chill in the streets on their way home. Eventually he settled on two containers of curry and paid for it silently. He waved to the cashier and swung outside, stopping for a moment before calling Hiromitsu over to him. “Let’s go before it gets any colder kid,” Sako said, holding out a hand. Hiromitsu smiled at him and gently took his hand, swinging his other as they walked down the streets. He hopped off the sidewalk curb to jump into the puddles and Sako figured he’d need a hot bath by the time they got home. “Was school fun today? You’ve been pretty quiet you know.” Hiromitsu sighed and puffed out one of his cheeks. “I don’t wanna be in school. I wanna be with you! It’s stupid.” He hung his head back. “School’s so boring.” Sako raised an eyebrow. “Boring huh? Gotta make it more exciting for you then!” He stooped down and scooped Hiromitsu into his arms, smiling brightly at him. “School’s where you learn all sorts of fun things! I certainly don’t know everything.” “But you know lots of things!” Hiromitsu squirmed out of Sako’s arms and Sako let him slide down until his feet were firmly planted on the ground. “Also…” He tapped the toe of his boot against the ground and held his hands behind his back. Sako looked around to make sure they were out of the way of passersby and knelt down beside him. “What’s wrong? Nobody at school is being mean, right?” “No...no it’s fine.” Hiromitsu looked up at him with his pretty green eyes and both cheeks were puffed out and he was pouting so much. “Mama thinks I’m quirkless!” “Well!” Sako blinked a few times. “That’s rude. Just because you’re 6?” “She says I shoulda gotten a quirk by now.” Hiromitsu sighed, but he didn’t look upset. Sako knew something was up so he urged him to continue. “But I don’t wanna tell her.” He reached into his pockets and held his hands up so close to Sako’s face he had to lean back for his vision to focus. The boy’s hands were full of blue marbles. “Hey! I know what those are.” A grin spread across Sako’s face. He tipped Hiromitsu’s hands so they fell into his own and he held one up to his good eye. “You’ve got my compression quirk!” Hiromitsu swallowed and nodded, his eyes big. “I dunno how to get them not marbles though,” he whispered. “I can’t even tell the teacher! He’ll tell mama!” Stuffing the orbs into his pocket, Sako scooped Hiromitsu up again and started to book it down the street. He nimbly dodged around benches and potted trees and decorations that lined the sidewalk. “I’ll tell her. I’ll tell your teacher too!” He hugged Hiromitsu so close. “I’ll teach you how to uncompress them and do super cool tricks.” Hiromitsu’s eyes were so big. “Can I sneak food in them?” “Yep!” “And--and books?” “Of course. Anything you want.” Sako didn’t want to tell him about the various stolen bombs, fireworks, limbs, and disasters he stored away in his apartment. “It’s a fantastic quirk! Quite supportive, really, and not offensive, but you can make a great performance with anything.” The boy giggled and leaned into Sako. “Two--no, no three days ago I got a frog,” he whispered. “Is the frog okay?” Sako hummed. “Should be!” He ruffled Hiromitsu’s brown hair and slowed to a brisk walk the rest of the way to the apartment. “Your mother’s quirk and mine probably aren’t very compatible, so I imagine you’ve got mostly mine. And time stops in my compression.” He started walking up the stairs. “I’ll heat us up some curry and you go take a bath when we get inside, okay? You’re shivering like a leaf!” “Because it’s so cold!” Hiromitsu whined. “Brrr.”

The League of Villains are all fifteen besides Kurogiri, Muscular, Mustard, and Moonfish.

Kurogiri is thirty and he's the Responsible Mom Friend™

Muscular is fourty someone please save these fifteen year olds from the pervy old guy whos killed a lot of kids and teenagers

Moonfish is twenty five and he has already mentally scarred ten fifteen year olds beyond repair like holy shit help them.

Mustard is eleven (vine: so shut the f*ck up) also WHO GAVE THIS ELEVEN YEAR OLD A GUN!?

I changed some aspects of their Quirks as well (but it couldn't be helped!)

In addition to being able to decay what he touches, Shimura can also reverse decomposition. (e.g. decaying an apple after touching it with all 5 fingers or keeping a building from falling by restoring it).

Yukimura's is entirely different. He can generate snow from his left and smoke from his right (like Todoroki with his fire and ice.)

Toga doesn't need to ingest someone's blood, she needs to have touched them within thirty minutes of transforming into them. It does have a time limit though. At the moment, it has a time limit of one minute per second she touched them (she's working on it).

Kurono's had to change completely, mostly because he can't move when he uses his Quirk and that's kind of limiting him. *shakes head at myself in disappointment* He can still slow down and speed up objects, and people, so long as he touches it or them with his bare hand, or hands. *I'm sorry I know his hair was cool looking but I had to take his limit off so he has room to improve and become the hero he would be in this AU*

Eri. Well...*scratches hair* I um...I couldn't leave the poor girl with a super destructive possibly traumatizing Quirk so I figured to still give her a Quirk that was a 'Mutation' of her family's (which I based around telekinesis) and I gave her a Quirk where she can transform into pure energy. Will explain more below. ↓↓↓↓

That being said, some of their Quirk's names are different. (aka me shamelessly wanting to go over the LoV's Quirks now that they're young and have less control over them)

Shimura Tenko. Quirk: Decay and Restore. Anything he touches with all five fingers can be decayed or restored, depending on which he's intending.

Yukimura Touya. Quirk: Snow and Smoke. From his left half of his body, he can create snow and control it too. From his right half, he can generate non-lethal smoke that serves well as a smoke screen.

Toga Himiko. Quirk: Transform. For up to thirty minutes, at the moment, after she touches someone she can transform into them.

Iguchi Shuichi. Quick: Force Fields. Iguchi can create force fields both for protection and as weapons. At the moment, his Quirk is limited to a five foot area around him, which unfortunately means he needs to be a close range fighter until he expands his range, and a ten minute limit of keeping them up until they fall down whether willing or not.

Bubaigawara Jin. Quirk: Double. He can create clones of people and even perfect copies, so long as he has their measurements. These copies will disintegrate into a mud-like substance after around four hours.

Hikiishi Tamijiki. Quirk: Magnetism. She can magnetize people within a 1 meter radius of her, she's still expanding her range. Men are polarized south and women polarize north.

Sako Atsuhiro. Quirk: Compress. He can compress anything into a marble without damaging it. He has an affinity for compressing Yukimura's smoke into a marble and using them for very effective smoke bombs. It works on people too, however he's been too hesitant to actually try, even on a willing volunteer. He can also decompress them on will so watch out for marbles flying at you, they may be filled with Yukimura's smoke.

Chisaki Kai. Quirk: Destruction and Recreation. He can destroy and recreate things by touching them with his bare hands. Unfortunately this has led to a lot of things being accidentally destroyed if he gets too anxious, so make sure you don't let him touch things if he's been stressed out.

Kurono Hari. Quirk: Molecular Control. With his left hand, he can speed up molecules to the extent that they can catch fire or melt. With his right hand, he can slow down molecules to where the object can be rendered motionless or freeze. If he touched something with both hands, it will cause it to explode from the combined acceleration and deceleration.

Shinōkanri Eri. Quirk: Energy Body. She can transform her body into energy, which makes her intangible if she wants and lets her move at very high speeds and fly. She can also, to a lesser extent, can heal mild wounds on people, with the side effect of making herself tired from the excessive energy it takes to do so.

Suji Ken. Quirk: Muscle Augmentation. He can augment the muscle fibers beneath his skin, increasing the power and speed of his movements.

Gin Kuchi. Quirk: Blade-Tooth. He can enlarge and manipulate his teeth into powerful blades.

Koku Dokuna. Quirk: Poison Gas. He can generate and control a vast amount of poisonous gas that can, over time, deteriorate his victim's lungs and throat if it's breathed in for too long. He can generate enough gas to create a typhoon and cover a large area and is able to detect movement from withing the gas by reading its fluctiation.

None of them, save Muscular, Moonfish, and Mustard, actually wanted to be a part of the League of Villains.

Kurogiri, a UA hero teacher and pro hero Blackmist, was the first to be forcibly inducted at All For One's discretion, aka AFO is an asshole and threatened Kurogiri's family (his wife and kids) dying if he didn't.

Kurogiri, blackmailed into doing AFO's dirty work, is ordered directly from AFO to scout the streets for potentially dangerous Quirk holders.

He ends up finding Toga, Yukimura, Shinōkanri, Chisaki, Kurono, and Shimura, six homeless kids that he ends up taking back to the bar (because his wife would freak out if he randomly brought home six homeless pre-teens (aka the first six Kurono, Eri, Shimura, Yukimura, Toga, and Chisaki)) and whoops now they're a part of the League of Villains but at least they're relatively safe.

AFO dubs them Chrono (Kurono), Morningstar (Eri), Tomura (Shimura), Smokescreen (Yukimura), Shifter (Toga), and Annihiation (Chisaki) and as their Villain identities.

After Kurogiri catches them, AFO keeps them under constant inhibitor use because he can't have them getting out of line and ruining his plans, plus they are kids and not even they really know what they're capable of. (this also infuriates Toga because she's used her Quirk almost constantly since she's been on the streets ya know to steal food and stuff).

He slowly gathers the others (Sako aka Mr. Compress, Hikiishi aka Magne, Iguchi aka Spinner, Bubaigawara aka Twice (in that order)

So now Kurogiri is basically the foster dad to ten teenagers

After the Stain Incident, Mustard, Muscular, and Moonfish join like they did in canon

None of these fifteen year olds are as 'useful in battle' as their elder selves so, when it comes to the Training Camp battle, it's just like...well, it's chaos.

Well, first Shimura’s not there because he’s having the tail-end of a cold and still has a pretty high fever.

Kurogiri isn’t with them because he’s caring for Shimura.

But he’s given them a meeting point and he’ll warp them home from there.

Over here we have Smokescreen and Twice distracting Eraserhead, and rather horribly at that.

This guy's way smarter than two fifteen year olds and it gets to where he's actually gotten to the real Smokescreen and knocks him out, which makes Twice unable to make copies of him and nOPE I don’t make copies of myself NOPE we don’t need that in this world ONE OF ME IS DEPRESSING ENOUGH.

Twice, at this point, just picks him up and VWOOPS to their meet up spot.

Sako a concerned bean. His boyfriend is in danger and he's off his game because of it.

He still manages to compress and capture Bakugo though and Yukimura is unimaginably proud of his smart boyfriend.

Mandalay and Tiger are fighting two teenagers. (FUCKING TEENAGERS!)

They came here to train future heroes not fight teenagers!

THERE'S AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD SHOOTING AT TWO FIFTEEN YEAR OLDS SOMEONE HELP HE'S MURDEROUS

Weirdo cannibal is actually noming Shouji's dismembered hand (instead of thinking about it) when Todoroki and Bakugo come across him and they are scared as hell.

Toga actually very resentful of having to do this and just immediately takes off her gear and seeks out someone (anyone) to listen to her.

She ends up finding Uraraka and Asui and she explains to them why the League of Villains is doing this and what exactly is going on behind the scenes of this group of teenagers being villains.

She's adamant that she needs to pass on the knowledge than none of them are truly there of their own volition (even the members that came with Stain's capture are being forced to stay with threats upon their life or the lives of those they care about).

Which is the right call btw because Uraraka and Asui make sure to keep her with them when the rest of the Vanguard retreats. 

They're both very protective of this girl.

It's a trainwreck. But they do kidnap Bakugo and they do somehow manage to (without trying) kidnap Todoroki by proxy.

TodorOKI DO NOT JUMP THROUGH THE WARP GA-GODAMMIT (he manages to accidentally jump through the warp gate and is livid about it and mad at himself but hey, it's better than going home right now, plus now he's the inside man).

Todoroki accidentally becomes Shimura's friend because he complains about his suppressor 99% of the time he's there and Shimura is just like ‘dude, same’.

The Kamino Ward Incident goes very differently.

Toga begs the pros not to hurt the other members of the League because they're just teenagers and they're all being blackmailed into doing these things. (her blackmail was that AFO would personally kill all her friends in front of her, other examples for later)

Even before the pros came to save Bakugo, they were already talking about sending him back because holy shit they are not about this life of stealing children.

Kurogiri was fine with taking in ten homeless kids but stealing a kid who has a family and a life and friends and people concerned about him? hell no

Shimura finds out his grandmother was the seventh holder of One For All and basically snaps and and tries to kill AFO for killing the only family he had left.

He’s still got a pretty high fever so he’s also pretty delirious even when he snaps.

Yukimura just straight up is borderline having a anxiety attack after the goop warp shit because it reminds him of when he was younger and Endeavor's training and HOLY SHIT HIS DAD IS A HERO TOO HE'LL BE HERE AND HE'LL RECOGNIZE HIM

Yukimura is busy during the hideout raid fearing his existence

The minute he sees Endeavor it's over, he's having a full anxiety attack.

Chisaki has been having one since they kidnapped two kids and he can't stop panicking so he's just being dragged around by his elbow away from the action while Eri is apologizing for touching him repeatedly but’ you need to move Kai it's DANGEROUS!’

Cue Protect Boyfriend mode Sako forcing the others (besides the stubborn-ass scary powerful feversnap Shimura) and Kurogiri (he's a peacekeeper he wouldn't attack anyone) to all hide and whoops that's where all the UA students who came to save Bakugo and Todoroki are.

Hikiishi and Iguchi have to physically drag Todoroki (who's trying to scream at Shimura to hide while he proceeds not to hide himself) and Bakugo (who's snark is going to get him killed) into hiding with the others.

Then the Bakugo and Todoroki Rescue Squad witness just how young and vulnerable the League members are when they witness Chisaki and Yukimura having equally bad panic attacks.

Todoroki is ‘brothering’ Chisaki and Yukimura because he knows how bad panic attacks are and he'll be damned if someone his age has one this bad.

It honestly doesn't really help much because neither Chisaki nor Yukimura are capable of calming down right now and it really doesn't help that Chisaki has asthma and Yukimura is effectively mute.

AFO is still captured though.

Kurogiri is busy trying to warp a sick Shimura away from the fight because ‘GOD DAMMIT KID HE'S GONNA HURT YOU’

‘NO HE KILLED MY GRANDMOTHER’

Shimura ends up decaying AFO's hands and having a mental breakdown.

Thank god because now Kurogiri's warp finally works now that Shimura is done fighting and he gets the boy to safety.

None of the BakuTodo Rescue Squad get in trouble for the event since they didn't need to save Bakugo or Todoroki, the 'villains' had already done it.

Kurogiri is awesome and he warps them all from Kamino District just before AllMight begins fighting AFO and they still all end up at that giant screen, watching.

Sadly, the majority of the former League members still have their villain costumes and inhibitors on so people notice them pretty easily but they've got UA students protecting them from the people in the crowd who try to pull them to the nearest police station.

AllMight still has trouble fighting AFO despite him being newly handless because AFO just won't give up!

So he still loses his muscley form and is outed.

But he saved Shimura's grandson so he doesn't care.

AllMight adopts Tenko shortly after the incident. Like the next morning he has the papers all written up and Tenko is an emotional mess signing them but he's just really happy he gets to have a real dad who knew his grandma.

Who knew but now 45 yo AllMight suddenly has a fifteen year old and nobody is surprised.

The LoV members are given another chance.

UA enrolls them to the hero courses and they have special training that brings them up to par with the other hero course students (which, of course, is a bit easier given that they've had practice using them curtosy of Kurogiri training them)

Everything is shaky but Aizawa trusts these kids. How could he not? He literally fought them and saw up close just how scared they were

Honenuki is the first student outside of Uraraka, Asui, Bakugo, Todoroki, and the BakuTodo Rescue Squad to warm up to them

He sees Sako sneaking to the 1-A dorms to cuddle Yukimura after a nightmare

He ends up joining Sako much to EVERYONE'S dismay

Skeleton Boi is just worried about everyone okay? He wants everyone to be happy and succeed and Yukimura is definitely not happy so he'll work extra hard to make him happy.

Upotte!!  Review

To any operators out there, this review goes out to you.

Firearms are quite simply a load of fun if done responsibly and safely that is. It always feels good to head out to a shooting range and spend the day making targets into Swiss cheese, but somehow I felt as though something was missing. I realized that no matter how much I love a rifle, it is simply an inanimate object. However, as fate would have it there would be an anime that made rifles into something more than just a weapon, it would make them into waifus.

Upotte!! is a slice of life anime, consisting of 11 episodes and an additional ova episode, set at an all girl academy called the Seishou Academy where to put it simply they teach girls who are in fact guns. Our main cast is made up of the FN FNC or Funko, L85A1 or Elle, Sig SG 550 or just Sig, and M16A3 or Ichi-Rokkou which is a pretty cleaver nickname since it just means “one six” in Japanese. They all fall under the usual stereotypes you’d expect to find in any anime of this caliber, there’s the hot head chick who’s always ready to go with Ichi-Rokkou, the quiet clumsy moe bait with Elle, the super student with Sig and Funko is kind of your average bland main character with the exception that she often day dreams about her new teacher grabbing her and firing her as his personal weapon of choice.

Now to get to the story it’s just your average slice of life moe school girl anime with the exception of a few episodes but I’ll get to that later. Basically a new teacher comes to the academy and doesn’t know anything about guns and is reasonably shocked to find out that every student he will be teaching is an assault rifle. Now for whatever reason they never give the guy a name, I rewatched it a few times but he’s only known as Japanese Teacher. I don’t know if that’s some inside joke or laziness but nevertheless it’s odd. There’s a reoccurring joke where he keeps mentioning to Funko that she ought to wear something more covering than a thong to which she rightfully gets mad and starts firing away a storm of good ol’ 5.56x45mm NATO rounds at him resulting him being injured a humorously large amount of times.

Now overall a lot of this anime is rather bland apart from any gun humor which if you’re not into firearms at all then a lot of these jokes might go over your head. I really didn’t expect it to make such spot on jokes especially considering that in Japan gun ownership is outlawed so the idea that a Japanese anime with some funny gun jokes was delightfully surprising. It’s nice to know that even in the land of the rising sun there’s fellow /k/ommandos that enjoy operating operationally.

You get the usual stuff like the token school festival episode, the holiday episode etc. but the few episodes that are great are really enjoyable because they aren’t just the same schlock we’ve seen over a dozen times. So not to spoil anything but there’s an interesting episode that introduce some new rifles as sort of villains and they are the Galil and the Sako RK 62. Now their designs are a bit weird considering every other girl in the show just looks like a regular human girl but Galil is like a wolf girl thing and Sako has elf ears. They just come off as being like they are from a different anime all together but man, are they great for the few episodes that they appear as the bad guys. More so the Sako character I mean she’s the first character who doesn’t feel like your typical cardboard cutout. She’s vile, perverse in a sick way pleasuring herself to the thought of sneaking up on Funko and blasting out her brains while she is actually creeping near her during a combat tournament at the school. It’s a shame she shows up as a villain for a few episodes because for a small bit she’s evil and she loves it, you gotta respect that.

I feel as though this series sat on a lot of wasted potential because if the series had just been cute girls operating in operations and getting into fire fights with some light humor then it would have been a much more enjoyable show but it only did that for far too few episodes. I mean is it too much to ask to have an anime where I can see essentially a nice war movie but with cute girls as the soldiers? Upotte!! relied too much on filling up time with generic nonsense and not enough action but when it finally does get really into the action it just abruptly ends as if the creators wanted to say “Yeah were you enjoying that action sequence? Well fuck you the series is done now” and it just leaves you feeling a bit ripped off.

To wrap it up while I did enjoy watching this series it did fall short in a lot of ways including; lack of character development, cutting the fun action sequences short, wasting my time on boring moe garbage episodes, and having some side stories never resolved at all, in fact the whole series feels like nothing really was resolved or accomplished. There are some good aspects to the show mostly the aforementioned gun humor, the little segments in the show where they go into detail about each rifle which can be quite informative in case you don’t know a lot about guns, the characters while nothing unique are charming to say the least, and the overall look of the show is nice I mean animation wise it’s no spectacular monument to animation in any way but the art style is pleasantly decent. If you just want to watch what I think are the only worthwhile episodes then just watch episodes 4-6 and 10-11 everything else is not necessary because they’re just the generic tropy episodes you can find in any other anime.
