The silly duo wish you a happy (bloody) Halloween !!
Creator note and announcements :
Hello hello ! I hope you liked the little halloween surprise !We have been planning this for a while hehe 👉👈
Croupier now has his own ask blog ! He will answer your questions there :3 ( although he might take time to answer)
Meanwhile enjoy this little halloween artwork of Bug Pin !
As for wttmv in general, I think it has been noticed, but a lot of us are currently in hiatus for many reason, including me ! (thus why there has been less Keeper content lately)
We're trying to keep a little flow of content still ! But as we're getting more ambitious, the workload is also bigger ;w;
A few of us are currently hosting auditions for our characters ! I will also write a script for Stitcher auditions this week if I can...
And that's about it for the little announcements ! Thank you for reading ! More silly bug pin doodles for you troubles and happy Halloween :)
Some of you might have already seen those I forget which I posted before-

Okay sorry if I just missed it but I haven't seen people mention it and it made my ears prick up as I try to catch up-
Prism bringing up going to the shadowfell for the ascendency festival REALLY felt like a deliberate drop that Matt gave her when they talked between episodes about what she could bring into the conversation. Which supports MY theory that we (and by we I really mostly mean the hells) are getting way too distracted by whether we think the gods are nice or not and are not paying NEARLY enough attention to all the pieces of this puzzle coming back to birb mom.
Am I the only one getting the vibe that both the Raven Queen and her followers, but also KEYLETH have a plan B that's already well into motion??? Perhaps the same plan?? Facilitated by my goth birb son mayhap?
Something about when they checked on the RQ temple in uthadern- they seemed much calmer there than any other worshippers and said something about "trusting in the matron's plan." Which, yeah, she's the goddess of fate that makes sense. But she's not the goddess of fate in the "everything that happens is her will so bad or good, it's what she wants and we can't question it" kinda way. She fucking loves Vax because he was someone who fought tooth and nail against the way things seemed to be going when he didn't like it.
And then in the scry on Keyleth we got, didn't she mutter something like "it wasn't supposed to be like this..."? Which again, yeah, you could def say "well duh- she was supposed to have the love of her life for longer than like three years, she was supposed to have more years of leading her people in peace after saving the world once already. A LOT of things were supposed to be different." But Matt usually doesn't give them *dialogue* in a scry, does he? So it REALLY rang !!!!THIS IS A CLUE!!!! alarm bells for me.
And it would make sense, right? Cuz I don't think we saw other Ashari come with Keyleth to the desert, did we? And she was a bit cagey with Orym about how she couldn't bring that many forces. If the Raven Queen, Vax and Keyleth all *knew* what Ludinus wanted to do- use Keyleth as bait to get Vax- it would absolutely make sense for her to be like "get beat up a bit, my already dead boyfriend shows up and chills in an orb for a hot minute, birb mom pulls the ace and we have the upper hand, no one else gets hurt. Sounds like the best plan." But then things are already SO BAD. and it's not like letting more people in on this mystery plan would really help that at all?? Only just put it in danger? But she'd kinda been trying to contain and control the chaos, and there's only so much of that you can realistically do. And she's a great leader, and a great leader doesn't *like* keeping things from people who are scared and looking for guidance, but sometimes compartmentalization is necessary.
AND THEN that's not even mentioning Mor in exu. And how she seems to be on a mission from the Raven Queen without being consciously aware of it. And how she was sent by Nana Morri - the FATE STITCHER - to exandria. Birb mom is making moves quietly through others and the evidence is scattered all over this story, but it comes back to her every time.
I'm just !!!!!!!! PLEASE SOMEONE TALK ABOUT "FATE" AND THE RQ INVOLVEMENT MORE I'M BEGGING THESE HEROES!!!!!
#this is word vomit style i apologize#I've had a hell of a few weeks and my brain is mush#critical role#campaign 3#bells hells#me with my corkboard and little black feather push pins and sparkly gold twine of fate#i watch critical role now#i queue you all

Is Wttmv on break? /genq
We've been in hiatus since last november gkfmgkgmgkg
Tho it's not that simple because I technically still worked on it sometimes, I still drew Keeper and Stitcher in the past months
It's mostly that life kept us busy, new hyperfixations set in, so less motivation to work on wttmv
Which led to the new decision we made among ourselves last week, where we all decided to be more open about the lore of the characters now, no more teasing
So now I'll use the asks I have to be more direct :3
So are we in break ? Yes and no
Wttmv is not over, but it won't be a constant flow either
#welcome home#welcomehome#welcome home au#i value transparency about it#tbh it also doesn't help that there is no hype#not to blame on the audience#if anyone is to blame for the lack of content#it's us creators lmao we've just been pretty unmotivated#you guys have been so patient#thank you for still following us delulu after delulu

You know how people put little signs on their cats to shame them for bad behavior? I feel like this machine deserves one of those cuz it took me like a whole damn hour or so to disassemble, reassemble, disassemble, and then reassemble once more the tension assembly in hopes it would fix the tension issues... it did not, of course. After much frustration I did the thing they say not to do and tightened up the bobbin case, which mostly kinda worked. I'm still not hot about how the stitches look at the moment but they're acceptable. jesus christ, the more complicated a machine is, the more difficult the tension situation gets. My Singer 101 and both my Atlas and Brother straight stitchers sewed beautiful stitches instantly. Of course, they all had their own more complicated problems that this Kenmore does not have (it doesn't seem to be locked up and it runs great). I've not yet gotten a machine that just works right out of the box lol. But the good news is that I currently have four functioning machines:
My Singer 101, which needed a full rewiring and some new grease but otherwise sews great, 10/10 no notes
My Atlas machine, which I have tried TWO pink motors with and neither have worked properly, so I've given up and just given it the new motor I bought. It's black and doesn't match at all, but it works.
My Brother machine, which I thought would also give me issues but while the motor is kind of loud, it seems to be working okay with minimal sparking or struggling. It came to me with some rust on the bottom and it was a little locked up, but it was nothing WD-40 couldn't fix. This motor has strangely large brushes, so I couldn't replace them even if I wanted to. They don't seem to be standard. So I'm glad it works as is.
I spent all weekend working on my 1951 Singer 201, because why do the easier machines when you can frustrate yourself with a complicated one. As of now, it's all cleaned up, but I need new wicks for greasing it, and it came to me with a completely fucked power cord and foot pedal, so I need to do the work of rewiring those, though I don't think anything needs to be rewired in the motor or lamp (hopefully). The shellac is damaged on the bed, so it and all the other Singers are potential candidates for re-shellacing via french polish.
The "easy" machines will be the older ones: the 15-30 (made 1923), the two 66s (one from 1917, the other from 1906), and I've got a New Home showing up tomorrow from that era as well. 2 out of 3 of these have motors that I have no clue if they actually work, on account of the wires being cut or dangerous. Thankfully the oldest Lotus decal 66 is in a treadle. It makes it a lot easier to deal with!
I should probably sell at least a few of these as fully refurbished machines but I am attached to them lol. The Kenmore I'm least attached to, but I need it cuz I need to hem a sleeve of a jacket and it has the free arm and the correct stitch to do that with. It's not pretty but it has its uses.

Hi all, we are a small UK East of England based business of 2-3 people, one crocheter & one cross stitcher & sometimes a gardener joins us to sell succulents. We aim to be online between 12:00 - 16:30 GMT on Monday - Fridays each week although we may be able to reply outside those hours, it is unlikely as we mostly use one delicate table for work that gets turned off at 17:00 so we don't have fast access to anything but the email past working hours.
We use stuffing made from recycled plastic bottles and yarn scraps to stuff our toys and left over plastic canvas cut offs as beans for weighted toys to keep waste as low as possible. We are planning on eventually making our own paper so that we can use up as much home waste like newspapers and old boxes too but we're not quite there yet.

spooky tuesday is a (now not so new!) podcast where we’re breaking down all of our favorite slashers, thrillers, monster movies and black comedies on the new scariest day of the week.
anyone up for a midnight margarita? we're breaking out our cauldron and brewing up some delicious cocktails in honor of a new spooky tuesday. when we realized we had a halloween fifth tuesday on our hands, we knew we had to pick something special — and practical magic (1998) is a movie so perfect that it's almost like we made a wish for it way back in our younger days. starring sandra bullock, nicole kidman, stockard channing, and dianne wiest, this witchy flick is all about sisterhood, staying true to yourself, and finding true love in all its different forms. oh, and about how it's important to have bangs at some point in your life — but mostly the other stuff.
give spooky tuesday a listen on apple podcasts, spotify, iheart radio, or stitcher

Tips for beginner cross-stitchers
First of all, welcome to cross-stitching! Cross-stitching is awesome! I've been doing it for decades; it's pretty much the first hobby I ever had (besides reading). There are some things to keep in mind, things that you may or may not learn from your own sources as you learn to stitch, and things that I only learned from my own experiences and mistakes.
First of all, stitch for yourself! You may be asked to make presents for other people, and of course it's absolutely fine to do it, but it's also okay to say no. Stitching should not be an obligation; it should be something that makes you happy!
Start out small. I know the big projects are tempting, but small projects help you learn how to read charts and get to used to the different types of stitches.
Metallic thread is pretty but it sucks to work with.
No really - avoid metallic threads unless you absolutely need them.
Quarter stitches suck too, but they look really nice when you're done.
Kits are good to start with (if you can find them; I've noticed that the crafts stores around me have been drastically reducing their cross stitch aisles). They'll have everything you need for a project: chart, cloth, thread, a needle (or two), and instructions.
Keep the needles from your kits. You'll be glad to have extras, and while needles aren't exactly expensive to buy, it's still money.
Keep the extra thread too. Threads from kits are usually dyed specifically for the kit, so they won't match up exactly with threads for other charts, but if you decide to make your own chart or are fine with "close enough" colors, they'll come in handy.
There are different sizes and types of needles. Yes, it matters, but not as much as some people will tell you. It's mostly about what is comfortable and easy for you to use. I prefer narrower and sharper needles because I do a lot of stitching on higher-count fabrics.
Don't worry about how the back of your work looks. Nobody sees it anyway.
Do take care to make sure all your stitches go the same way. It'll come naturally with practice.
Iron your piece before you frame it. You might have to stretch it, too; half-stitches tend to warp the fabric.
I'm going to say this again because it really does make a difference- Iron your piece before you frame it.
Getting your piece professionally framed is expensive as hell, but if you have the funds, it's worth it.
If you don't have the funds for professional framing but need a special size, try using a cheap frame the next size up and have a matte made for it. I was able to get two 5x7ish sized mattes for less than $7 online (just watch out for shipping charges).

Horizontober Day 6 - Green
One thing Ikrie should have expected when she traveled south was the rise in temperature. Ban-Ur was a cold place, with high mountains and snow that never melted even during the height of summer. Banuk were built for the cold, and so was their gear. Most got by in the warmer months by shedding their outer layers like hats, jackets, and leggings. Cutting down on layers of insulation didn't work here in The Sundom. Ikrie had already shed as much as she could without cutting her clothes apart. It was time to bite the arrow and buy a new set of armor more suited to the weather.
She found a stitcher in the next town. They were a pleasant middle-aged woman with bright eyes and obsidian hair. With her help, Irkie browsed wares and looked at the variety of Carja and Oseram armor sets on display. After some looking and thinking she decided against any of the Oseram sets. While their baggy cloth undersuits were breathable and cool, their heavy leather plates and metal studs would negatively affect her mobility and stealth. The Carja armor sets were quieter being made of mostly silk and toughened leather. After rejecting a few sets that would show her mid-drift, Ikrie found a set the stitcher called "Wanderer Armor". It was light, with an undersuit of breathable Carja silk and broad leather armor plates on the skirt, boots, and upper chest. It had a modest cut and a fortuitous name, both points in its favor. In the end, it was the set she went with.
She had chosen her armor but was unprepared for the stitcher to ask what color she'd like it in. The set came in bright red, deep purple, sky blue, green, and orange. She hadn't been expecting a choice. Most Banuk armors came in some variety of blue or turquoise with brighter colors painted on skin or metal. Ikrie looked carefully over all the options. The colors were vibrant on the silks and leathers and it was hard to choose.
Ikrie went with her feelings and chose green. The green version of the armor was two-tone, with a dark green undersuit and bright green armor plates. Together they reminded her of spring when conifer trees would grow new, bright green shoots over their darker growth. Like the name of the armor, the color arrangement was fortuitous, a fitting outfit for new beginnings.

We Finally Do Soap
Content warning: In discussing plotlines on Soap, we do bring up suicide and, very briefly, sexual assault.
"Episode 4.1" (November 12, 1980) *
Finally! It's one of the biggest cult favorite sitcoms of all time *and* it's also a show famous for having a LGBT character in the main cast. The only reason it's taken us this many years to tackle Soap is that it's so much more serialized than mostly anything else we cover, so while we focus on one particular episode, we're also discussing the entirety of Billy Crystal's gay character, Jodie Dallas. Good thing we have longtime Soap fan and TableCakes' Katherine Helmond correspondent Gwynedd Stuart on hand to discuss the show in general and the awesomeness of Jessica Tate in particular.
Check out our sponsor, Spaces! And join our spaces for Gayest Episode Ever and Cartoons That Made Us Gay.
Also check out Gwynedd's work on Sporked.
Listen to Gwynedd’s episode of Monday Afternoon Movie about The Legend of Lizzie Borden.

rant warning ahead, i have a lot of thoughts about this au. it’s probably gonna get pretty sewing-nerd-y too so be prepared lol
first up: tools. i imagine that very talented stitchworkers don’t need tools, but most stitchers (or unstitchers) do. things like needles, looms, you get the idea. probably not real needles, more metaphysical, but my point still stands. there are all sorts of different needles depending on the craft and the user’s persona style. WAIT what about things like sewing machines?? like maybe they could exist but since stitching is yknow, illegal and all that, i’m not sure. idk but its definitely A Concept that would be very fun to dive into.
also! knots! if someone were to be taught stitching, (which i feel like at least one person on the hermitcraft server is currently being taught), i think that they would definitely start with knots. connecting two pieces of reality but only at the corner seems like a great way to teach a beginner. i think you probably could just use knots as your main form of stitching but it takes more effort. also also back to the whole “you’re either born with magic or you’re not“ thing. consider: a lot of people are born with it, but most don’t know they have the ability. theyve never tried, never even considered it because of how much it’s frowned upon. developing an ability you didn’t know you had takes time, but having someone experienced to help you along certainly helps.
obviously there are different types of fabric when it comes to stitching irl, so how would this translate to the AU? think how some types of fabric frays very easily, but how some doesn’t fray at all. some fabric rips, some doesn’t, some stretches, some doesn’t, etc.
different! stitches! are! definitely! a! thing! like backstitches are for bigger projects or stuff more likely to get ripped or unstitched because they’re more sturdy, whipstitches are for the finishing details or the edges of a project, (also for embroidery-style stitching), running stitches are more practical and less precise, etc. i would absolutely keep going with different stitches but i don’t wanna get too too ranty lol
strands vs. threads: another thing that people who don’t sew probably won’t know!! basically one thread has six strands and you can separate them depending on how thick you want the line of string to be. so like, 6 strand sewing is for big projects, and two strand sewing is for tiny in-reality adjusments. stuff like changing jellie’s fur pattern to mess with scar or drying a wet sponge. (one strand sewing isn’t a thing, your thread will rip. use this information how you will.)
patches! most reality patches are made of the same material as the original, but there are definitely some stitchers who prefer to make flashy noticeable patches made of way different material that stands out. put a patch of the nether in a spot where the overworld reality tore. you get the point.
different styles of stitching! i know this has already been brought up but i want to go more in-depth with it.
cleo’s stitching is ABSOLUTELY embroidery. there’s literally no question about it. i feel like grian stitches with both embroidery and knots. Im thinking xB felts. idk why. mumbo is probably still learning but i think he would mostly just use sewing. scar can practically do it all, he’s a jack of all trades type. his go-to is sewing though. i know you already said x and ex work best with knitting, but honestly i think crochet suits them better. zedaph probably works with lace-sewing best. (is there an actual word for that? i feel like there is.) stress weaves.
random thing that i just thought up: certain hairstyles are associated with stitchworkers, and can be used as signals. the most obvious one is a braid/braids, especially for weavers, because well. its practically just weaving except with hair. stuff like doing hair can also help people hone in on their craft because yes.
told you it’d get rant-y. this is the shortened version. i have adhd ok
i love this. i love many elements of this and will definitely possibly maybe sssstteaalborrow them. XD
#read this like it's an explanatory post from the stitchverse tumblr#also lacemaking terms change depending on the type of lace i think#you can crochet it you can knit it you can do tatted lace and so forth#overall i think it's just lacemaking tho#stitchverse au#redwinteranswers#long post

Fun fact of my DC OCs
Many of them have counterparts from different DC universes whether they be from The 2004 Series/Matsudaverse, Animated Universe/BTAS/TNBA/Beyond, Nolanverse, Harley Quinn Series, Arkhamverse or Tomorrowverse
Hallow Crane/Lauren Crane/Laurent Crane have 7 counterparts
BTAS/TNBA counterpart is a human wearing a cloaked outfit and a mask revealing bright red eyes, he has a prosthetic arm which allows him to attach his other arm filled with sharp objects
2004 Series counterpart shows as a Victorian era villain, wearing a distorted face that covers his 'face marks' and with that he carries a sickle tied to a chain as a weapon. However he was removed out of the universe like how Scarecrow was on the entire series

Made a new elden ring character this weekend (only have the character selection screenshot on me rn)
Her name is Malva, her body has been taken by the scarlet rot. She started learning how to sew fancy clothing and masks to hide her scarred and rotten body.
She fights with a giant sewing needle (Godskin Stitcher) and is blinded by revenge on Malenia (who she might be related to according to one of my friends headcanons hehe).
When I started the file, she met Ranni, while still having her body uncovered mostly. She felt really ashamed and at the same time fascinated by Ranni's strong presence. (Im gonna go for the Age of Stars ending 😳😳😳)
Anyway thanks for reading about her I love making up stories for random souls characters Im playing 🥰

A better picture of the critter closeups from my photo dump, as requested by @mathysphere!
These are all from the same pattern, “Ecology Wildlife Band”, torn many years ago from a Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine of unknown date. The original design had the four critters in a band across a reusable bag, with green text above and below saying "recycle, conserve, save / reuse, preserve, renew”. I stitched them on some mystery 16ct aida scraps which feel just a bit more plasticky than usual, and I have no idea if that’s fitting or ironic. The final size for each is 3.5in square from fabric edge to edge, and they’ll almost certainly go onto greeting cards at some point as is my wont.
All four critters were stitched mostly as given, though I did combine with other colors any single-stitch colors I happened to notice while prepping each piece just for my own convenience. That said, this was something of a study in how not to design a pattern! I’ll explain that a bit below the cut.
For starters, it’s a very photorealistic, full-coverage pattern packed with a frankly unnecessary density of colors (the tiger, for example, has 28 different floss colors as shown, plus the three single-stitch colors I merged out in prep). This technique results in primarily dither-style shading, which looks very smooth in the end but is an unfortunately confetti-full stitching experience. A thoughtful designer will minimize this where it’s reasonable, to make things easier for their stitchers! This pattern, however, felt like it probably came straight out of a computer program with no edits.
The pattern was also very difficult to read. It had both colors and symbols, which when done well is actually the option I like best! Unfortunately, four factors combined to make it terrible in this case:
The symbols were actually just letters (lower- and upper-case both), numbers, and punctuation -- in one of those skinny sans fonts that makes everything look like vertical lines when you’re not looking closely.
The colors were intended to be indicative of the floss color they represented, but they weren’t particularly close and especially they did not tend to match lightness/darkness (dark flosses had in many cases lighter colorfills than medium flosses).
Many colorfills were very close to each other by sheer virtue of the fact that the pattern had well over 50 floss colors and probably 30 of those were shades of brown. Printer ink, even fancy magazine printer ink, can really only manage so many shades of brown.
It was small. The pattern was printed across two pages, but only the top half of those two pages, and with margins and the border text and so forth -- which meant that each critter's pattern was only about the size of my finished fabric pieces, 3.5in square. That is not a lot of room for a pattern this visually dense.
This combination made it quite difficult to keep track of what was done and where to go next, even for -- if I do say so myself -- an experienced stitcher! I made at least one mistake in every piece that I only found far too late to be worth fixing, and in most of them I made multiple such mistakes. Mistakes can and do happen in projects of all sizes and types and levels of experience, and there is no shame in making them! But both the way a pattern is made and the way it is presented can affect the likelihood of mistakes, and this is a prime example of that.
There was also no particular regard for easy placement in the detailing, with the backstitch/straight stitch portions tossed haphazardly over the crosses so that they started 1/3 of the way into a square and ended 3/5 into another, and other such odd fractions. This doesn’t jive well with cross-stitch fabrics, which all function by factors of two; evenweaves (and hardanger) are stitched over two unless you’re doing tinywork, and aida is woven in blocks of four threads. To do detailing at odd fractions, you are forced to split a fabric thread -- a task that blunt tapestry needles are not good at. That’s more of a general embroidery thing, which is done with sharp needles for a reason!
All in all, this pattern felt like it was designed by someone who doesn’t do much actual cross-stitching themself. It is stitchable, as you’ve seen, but boy could it have used some cleanup editing before it hit the presses!
