CRITICAL ROLE CAMPAIGN 3 EP 95 SPOILERS

jesus christ these nerds are going to kill me.

before i get into my think piece abt... everything that transpired at the end of this episode, i would like to say this is one of the best c3 episodes.... one of my favourite episodes of all time. idk idk.

essek? smut? astrid? poly bells hells allegations?? i was already fucking sold dawg. i cannot goddamn believe that this four hour episode was... mostly... a shopping episode. i cant wait for the new art, regardless of the batshitery that happened that kinda throws my vibes off. i digress.

oh ashton greymoore i love you so much. i have been so worried abt them but honestly they're probably the lat person im concerned for currently. the grief was so compelling to watch and taliesin is a master of roleplaying as minus charisma but genuinely charismatic in his dorky awkward gruff and fumbling way. his rizz is actually just blindsiding us with earnest acts of service and comfort for his friends and i think thats so neat. im happy that they're all going to aeor with fcg intertwined throughout their outfits. its poetic and also maddeningly sweet.

(love the little callowmoore moments sprinkled through this episode... they're so real to me)

also??? sugar daddy dorian storm??? yeah i see you gay boy. dorym is so real guys we need to prepare for a confession and soon. idk i get the vibe liam is gonna drop it in the most heartbreaking way. or robbie. they're both sick in the head tbh.

loved the little queer inn that essek dragged them to and the calm before the storm was genuinely the cutest shit ever and im glad they were having fun despite everything. we got the essek and ashton dunamancy scene that i have been begging for but i cant even talk abt that right now.

before i address orym and laudna...

delilah briarwood. im gonna fucking kill you. best believe that.

theres been so much discourse on twitter abt who was right or wrong or this or that, but ultimately the point is: neither of them is RIGHT. they're both stricken with trauma and grief, and motivated by the love they have for a) the ones orym has lost and b) the one laudna is fighting not to lose. laudna WAS worried abt orym before delilah twisted that into paranoia, and orym didnt wield that fuckass blade bc he DOESNT feel sick touching it.

he says its not abt revenge but... god. orym. you want revenge. call it whatever you like but you've been angry for a while.

laudna says she KNEW the sword was cursed, but she was lying or in denial abt the fact that delilah is the one who coerced her to hold the blade in her hand.

if either of them had decided to talk to each other or the group as a whole then this could have -- most likely -- been avoided. orym decided to take the blade and shoulder the burden of what it meant and what it represented so they didnt have. laudna felt betrayed and hurt but instead of trusting orym she was manipulated back into that cunt's clutches.

i dont prescribe to trauma olympics, especially when laudna and orym never actually denied each others' trauma with otohan and that blade so i think its slightly irrelevant when discussing them both.

(i will say this... otohans blade is what killed laudna but delilah is the one who had her in a cage when she was dead. otohan murdered oryms family and there was absolutely nothing that could save them. i firmly believe THAT is what chetney meant, not that laudna hasnt suffered so we can all just... unclench a little idk)

in all the discourse, lets not forget who the real villains are -- evil milfs (delilah and otohan). delilah chose this moment to sew distrust in laudna towards orym for a reason. its like the spider queen and opal. she NEEDS laudna isolated and dependent, and she cant sink her teeth in completely if laudna has someone to fall back on.

imodna... jesus imodna breaks me every time. that entire scene on the roof while laudna looks so much like her abuser -- the woman who MURDERED her -- and having that visage fade as laudna proclaims her love for imogen. peak romance and tragedy.

it was still so upsetting hearing the echoes of delilah as laudna spoke tho. knowing her hold on laudna is getting stronger and laudna has no real faith that she will be able to fight against her. hearing her ask imogen if shes still fun scary and knowing that imogen cant tell the truth. this isnt fun anymore. laudna is in danger and imogen doesnt know how to fix it.

"I'll always love you, Laudna. I just don't know what to do with it."

its uh its not looking good for our sapphics fellas.

anyway, i do think that ashton was the emotional mvp of this episode, especially while shit was escalating. putting themself between orym and laudna, PROTECTING laudna despite knowing she attacked him, TRUSTING that she was actually telling the truth and guiding her to see the forest for the trees and apologize for an irrational choice made through a mixture of trauma, delusion and paranoia.

im... excited? for the next episode? not sure why we keep having really horrible inter-party conflict the day before going on a suicide mission but the hells are my problem babies and i have to accept that they're just little fucked up guys.

First up we're going BIG! I'm talking time to ship up every single member of the York family to go and meet the Alegria family by @matchalovertrait! Wouldn't be too massive of a trip though since we're mostly all in Tartosa.

I suspect Devin and Dulce would get along. I think Aaron would probably be a bit too pompous for Erick to maintain a conversation with. I'm guessing Noemi would probably not mind talking to Calista since they're both family and career women. Angel would probably be the one helping Joey make sure Alfred and Rilian are having fun.

Supernatural Hang out

Sending my werewolf Samir, his boyfriend Reece, and the Knightstone's to try and make friends...

They would be meeting up with Caleb and Morgan by @marcishaun, as well as Lou and Lux by @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants.

As well as Priscilla, Tony and Moumou by @eljeebee and the Bohan family by @aliengirl.

First up Moumou (who's a cat if you didn't know) would be surrounded by all the younger sims. The youngest would probably just all be sitting there making imitation cat noises. I like to think Silas would be interested to meet Carina and Orion and have a million questions about how they manage to look both human and alien at the same time.

Blue would tell Adam how he carried a pregnancy and Adam would storm off in horror for several reasons. First off Adam doesn't want more kids. Plus he's hot headed. Then of course Adam hates UFO aliens getting humans pregnant and would probably feel like the tale hits to close to home, even though Rhea and Blue made their kids with love. Suzanna however would be fascinated to learn about the process.

Priscilla would likely try to cheer up Caleb about being a vampire while Tony would probably try to impart some wisdom about being a human in love with an immortal to Morgan.

Let's be real Samir would probably sit there brooding the entire time but Reece would undoubtedly be chatting at a million miles an hour with Lou and Lex to try and learn all he could about real werewolves.

EDIT: I forgot my main point which is I think most of them would enjoy talking about plants and gardening and nature.

RotG and HiJack Recs

Alright, I'm building this list because some of these fics are just a tad dusty, and they could use more love. (A lot more love, I am literally dying from how much I adored these.) But note that a good few are incomplete.

Let's start with:

INCOMPLETE FICS

The Long Road:

Presently Gen, but Hiccup very much falls for Jack. He does however retain his feelings for Astrid, so bear that in mind. There's the classic Viking mindset when it comes to homosexual relationships that's pretty much giving Hiccup like a lot of anxiety.

But beyond that! I cannot shower this fic with enough praises! It gives me the same sort of excitement that the RotG movie does. Jack's characterization is Spot On. He's friendly and outgoing and also incredibly secretive and flighty. It balances out Jack's blunt mannerisms with a joyous charm and just that hint of vulnerability (which he keeps so well hidden lol).

The plots take place after HttyD, during the Riders of Berk TV series. Jack is folded into the Dragon Rider group who considers him some kind of Elf. Yes, this is Jack Frost in all his frosty glory. The way the story builds on a solid foundation of camaraderie and friendship, giving plenty of scenes to show how Hiccup and Jack became great friends, lends well to the Hiccup's realization of: "Oh I'm into him". Without giving too many spoilers, that "oh" moment is forever ingrained into my memory because of how PERFECTLY timed it is.

This blends Guardians of Childhood book verse with HttyD book verse, mostly via cameos over lore. Overall, a beautiful, fun, and simply enchanting read. I cannot recommend this enough.

A Story about Ice, Dragon Fire, and Belief:

Another gen fic. Mostly, it's about North looking at Jack and going, "he's my son now", and Jack having absolutely none of it. When placed together with Stoik and Hiccup's relationship, it becomes an almost interesting study of contrasts. North is the guy who's trying to prove something to a boy that he disappointed. Hiccup is the guy who's trying to prove something to a man that he disappointed. But ultimately, it ends up the same with a schism forming between the two pairs the harder one of them tries to breach it.

Also, it talks about how Jack is a force of fucking nature? And his blizzards can kill and have killed in the past? There's a little bit of trying to reconcile that with his new ID as a guardian. North is not doing a great job helping here.

But really the Crown Jewel of this fic is North and Berk's reactions to North (and by proxy his relationship to Jack). We go a little into the historical Viking side of things (like the pillaging et al), and apply that lens to this jolly old man. Let's just say some troubling (hilarious) assumptions are drawn. Also...

Everyone loves the sleigh.

I think this is one of the few RotG and HttyD crossovers that really do a good job of merging the two movies. Primarily because it's not just Jack in Berk. And this just made me hungry for more fics where more of the RotG cast arrive as Berk, and be just 100% fantastical and strange as the bedtime stories they are. Put some respect on the Guardians name, if you know what I'm saying.

In the Shadows of My Mind:

This one is an RotG only fic. No pairings except for whatever's going on between Pitch and Nightlight (and by proxy Jack). It's not a for real pairing. That said, it's such a complex and intricate relationship that doesn't resemble a romance but remains markedly intimate. Basically, this fic takes advantage of Pitch and Nightlight's ridiculously long history then throws Jack into the mix. Alive, human Jack in an early 18th century colonial town wherein he very recently did not drown (and boy, isn't that suspicious?)

My favorite thing about this fic is how spot on the dialogue feels? The lexicon, the syntax feels true to the time its set in. Although, I can't say that it is accurate as I'm not an expert of this time period in this region. Regardless, it certainly appears that a good stack of research went into this.

All that said, this fic has captured Bill Joyce's writing style the best, but with a deeper, more complex, more mature layer underpining that bedtime like vibe. There's a good host of OCs but genuinely, I didn't notice them as OCs. I could really believe they were characters of Joyce's books. Not to mention, they feel like fully fleshed out individuals even if they have like maybe two paragraphs of screentime.

The entire premise hinges on the idea of "what if Jack survived the skating accident" and everyone's reactions to that, as well as... the hidden secret thing that involves Nightlight. GoC spoilers are hinted so beware. But the little interplay between Nightlight and Jack is such a delicious little mystery, and also makes me so sad. These two boys deserved better.

Then we throw in Pitch for fun, because Pitch is always fun, and he just makes the whole thing even more complicated or as Jack calls it, "unnatural". But he's not even the main villain. It's Christianity. JK. That said, the fic does explore the idea of well, how would a fairly backwater colony be able to explain how Jack survived or... the powers that's slowly revealing itself from within him. There's a particularly nasty boy (around Jack's age), who is an OC and I believe an exceptionally well placed one. The OC understood his role to play and he plays it fantastically. Everytime he shows up, I too feel scared and indignant and excited all at once.

Speaking of great OCs, shoutout to Jack's Da. His appearances are brief but the impact is maximized with each appearance. He has that sense of realism and whimsy baked into him that I could gush endlessly about.

Overall, just a pure delight to read. Will re-read again and again.

Zastruga:

Total Gen fic. And a classic in my opinion.

I started reading this when I was in college - note the publish date. Nevermind the update date. Because even after all these years, this story? Still good. Still very very good.

This takes the original RotG plot and makes it more epic, and also more sad. RotG was very joyful at its core, which this fic somehow manages to retain. But it's just under a layer of sad. It's not overwhelming angst though, just enough to really pinch your heart.

Also whereas the movie has a few epic battles before things go really wrong, this fic stretches that out into a proper war against Pitch (and Jack). That's right. Jack is with Pitch ala Mother Gothel/Judge Frollo style. Jack isn't locked up entirely. He's given just enough rope to hang himself with. Mind the Jack whump is what I'm saying. But also do note that Jack's character remains as steadfast and loyal as he ever was in RotG, so the whump just hits nicer since this Jack isn't so irrevocably changed.

I have re-read this before. I will re-read this again. Nevermind the incomplete status. There's plenty of chapters that simply give me great joy.

COMPLETE FICS

It's the Great Spirit Sleigh, Hiccup Haddock:

Gen fic, in that there's no pairing actively getting together. But remains faithful to the original canon's hinted love interests. So Hiccup has a big crush on Astrid and Jack leans towards Tooth. That said, the relationship between Hiccup and Jack is just plain adorable and also heart-wrenching. They care about each other. So Much.

Now this is just a good holiday cheer. It literally has the Hallmark movie template, which is the point really. You know, the whole "oh no, a holiday is ruined" followed by "clever and charming ways to fix the holiday". With Hiccup and Jack taking the starring roles.

If you know your Hallmark movies, then you know that the leads get together in the end. And they don't in this fic. But the amount of "Gosh do I care about you" is so good. It's a lot of hurt and a lot of comfort. And I am here for it.

Also, this fic was completed way before the HttyD 3 movie so it doesn't have a canon compliant ending. That may be a bonus for some of you.

Scary Monsters and Super Creeps:

Pre JackRabbit (Bunny/Jack). But honestly the pairing isn't the main focus, mostly that Jack and Bunny admit to liking each other (but not to each other). So their dynamic remains in the best bros category. The pairing mostly shows through the plot machinations.

So long story short, Pitch opens the Guardian-Verse and recruits the other versions of the Guardians - the corrupt versions. And it's good, action/adventure fun. There's some gore, so mind that. Because the corrupt versions are nasty little things that fight dirty. Which makes the action feel like there's legit stakes. Also makes for a quick read because you must know what happens next? Did they get out of this sticky situation? Are they going to be okay? That sort of thing.

My Thoughts: This story has everything! It’s got full and fleshed out relationships between the characters. The character dynamics are just so good. It’s got dragons! A modern zombie AU with dragons is such a cool concept, and it was executed so well. I have yet to finish reading it, but I’ve enjoyed each and every chapter of this. (I think I left off on chapter 25.) The emotions are so real and so in character, and the events of the story are bold and exciting! I really love this fic.

My Thoughts: A fic that understands chronic pain to an intimate degree? Hell yes! I love fics that deal with Hiccup most likely having chronic pain from his amputation. It just makes sense, you know? So well written, and such a depth of understanding. I have it downloaded on multiple devices because it’s a favorite.

It shows the inner conflict in Viggo and the outer conflict between Viggo and Hiccup so well. They have quite the dynamic in canon, and this fic really just delves into it. Love it.

My Thoughts: Okay, I really love this fic. Hiccup whump with Stoick angst? Always a treat! Love it when those two get to suffer. The symbolism is utterly fantastic, and I love the ending. This whole thing is genius.

I was so glad when I found the ao3 version so that I could download it and keep it. (Fanfiction.net, where I first read it, is fleeting.)

I would be like: “Wait, wait… I thought that happened in canon.” That’s how good this fic is. It intertwines with canon so well while being its own, fully-fleshed out story. The buildup was interesting and the battles were fantastic. I love the chapter about Ivan. I just… *clenches fist* loved it. Really excellent fic!

It was startling, after so long being intangible, how easy it was to be touched. A tap on his shoulder, a playful punch from Astrid, getting jostled in the mead hall, pulled in two different directions by the twins - it was all familiar. Even before, Jack had always felt solid, always felt real - it was the world he couldn’t grasp, couldn’t hold on to.

This was different. The reaching out to touch. That he could, if he wanted.

That he could ask for it.

Hiccup humored him, even if he didn’t understand what Jack was thinking. They hadn’t progressed that far with the Norse lessons yet. Jack would press his palm to Hiccup’s arm, keep it there, to confirm he wouldn’t fall through, and pull back. Then do it again, just to make sure. At first, Hiccup would raise an eyebrow at him and say something concerned or teasing in Norse, but didn’t move away.

(Hiccup wasn’t the sort to move away, Jack noticed. Get distracted, sure, go on spontaneous misadventures with Toothless - but he always returned. Even in arguments with his father - mostly about Jack, which he could tell despite the language barrier - Hiccup always stood his ground. Skinnier and more awkward than his Viking peers, but nevertheless a force.)

Hiccup leaned into Jack’s touches, now, and unnervingly could tell when Jack needed reassurance. In a particularly bold move that Jack couldn’t help but chuckle at when it happened, Hiccup took Jack’s hand from his shoulder and held it in his own. He looked embarrassed, and tried to slip away, but Jack didn’t let go. Then Hiccup smiled, in that goofy lopsided way that shows off the gap in his teeth, and Jack felt everything inside him twist up.

He realized - he wanted -

The first time Hiccup hugged him he was standing in a lake up to his knees and shivering. Was he sleepwalking? He didn’t remember closing his eyes -

Hiccup was talking in his ear in a breathy, panicked tone that made his words blur together and his voice more nasally than usual. Jack swayed a little and Hiccup swayed with him, still talking. Given Hiccup’s height, Jack’s face was crushed into his neck, which couldn’t have been comfortable, but Hiccup’s gangly arms were locked around his upper back and it was futile to move. Strangely, the first thing Jack registered as he awoke was that Hiccup wasn’t wearing his leather armor. The lake water bit at his calves, but Hiccup was warm through the rough fabric of his tunic. It was the kind of warmth Jack had been reveling in since becoming mortal again - comfortable and innnate.

“Jack - Jack?” Those words he recognized. Jack blinked, and Hiccup leaned back slightly to gauge his expression. He was frowning, eyebrows furrowed together, almost merging into one. His hands slid to clutch at Jack’s shoulders, never once breaking contact. Jack’s mouth was dry.

He had no memory of his dream, but he assumed it wasn’t good if this was where he ended up. He gave Hiccup a sleepy smile to tell him I’m fine, really. According to Hiccup’s immediate deadpan stare, it wasn’t very convincing.

Jack suddenly was very aware that his arms hung limply at his sides, and had been since he woke up. That wouldn’t do. He ducked his face into Hiccup’s neck again, at a better angle this time, and hugged him back. And he was solid, not made of motes of light or sand, but flesh and bone and lean muscle.

Every time Jack held Hiccup’s hand, he held it like it might dissipate. Jack imagined himself holding the pieces of Hiccup together in this embrace, to stop them from floating off, and maybe he wasn’t fully awake, maybe Hiccup’s everything made him reckless. Hiccup was warm, and held him just as recklessly, and Jack felt real.

If anyone remembers the hijack Ghost!AU, you get a bignostalgias veterans discount (it’s only been a few months but it feels like so much has changed in that time fjdjdjd). It was my first real attempt at making comics after a year, so it was partly a way to prove to myself I could and I had a lot of fun posting on tumblr again. However, it wasn’t planned out at all, and I lost steam pretty quickly - one day I may return to it, but in the meantime, I’ll leave a snippet from the outlining I attempted lol!

- “You’re gonna help him…move on?” Astrid’s eyebrows furrow together and she casts Hiccup a side glance. “To Valhalla?”

- Hiccup nods. “That’s the idea.”

- Astrid keeps looking at him with an unreadable but undoubtedly concerned expression. “Is that what you want? I mean - that’s what he wants, and that is what’s most important -“

- “Astrid?”

- “Hiccup,” Astrid huffs. “When he leaves, will you be okay?”

- That throws Hiccup for a moment. An OH MOMENT. Maybe a brief montage sequence that ends with: “I’ll have to be,” he says, resigned.

Danny did her best to match the tightness that Hiccup was hugging her with, and she mostly succeeded, her arms moving to wrap around his neck as her head was buried into his shoulder. Her smile faltered, though, and she just hoped he was right about that, about it lasting a while. “…How long do you think it’ll last for? I-it won’t just be a little while, right? Dad, I don’t wanna get burned…” Her voice was just above a whisper, and her tone held heavy desperation.

As he pulled away, she did too, and her eyes met his, unshed tears that she hastily wiped away brimming over.

The girl nodded, making her way up the stairs, though she didn’t have the same pep in her step as before, there was a heaviness there instead, and it seemed like even carrying herself up the stairs was a daunting task.

Once in her room, she put back on the tunic she was previously wearing, as well as her trousers, before gently picking up Cala from her bed and returning back downstairs.

Eyeing the couple warily, Danny could tell something was wrong, and she was pretty sure she knew exactly what it was.

She had to go back tomorrow, back to her home with her [sadly] real dad.

And she couldn’t help it, because she was upset too. She wasn’t just upset, she was sad, scared— no, terrified. Gods, she was even angry.

Before she could even do anything to stop it, the tears started coming, and she set Cala down before staggering over to Hiccup and Astrid, wrapping her arms around the Chief once more and sobbing into his torso. “I don’t wanna go!” she cried loudly, her voice muffled. “Please please please don’t let them take me— Momma, just use your axe and get rid of them, please…”

This conversation had obviously already come up before, but the fear from before had no increased tenfold. After all, she was literally leaving tomorrow.

Maybe some comfort in the form of a story would help…?

"It should last a few years at least, maybe even longer, depending on how fast you grow. But, the fabric should hold, it's strong, having those dragon scales combined."

The only thing he couldn't test was how long it would last, there just wasn't enough time.

That heaviness was setting back in, and as much as Hiccup tried to ignore it, it pressed on him, making it feel like he was being weighed down.

He and Astrid's expressions fell as they saw the tears fall on Danny's face.

Hiccup barely had time to react as she barreled into him, wrapping his arms around her, kneeling down to the floor. Astrid knelt down as well, putting her free arm around Danny.

Even little Zephyr whimpered, putting a tiny hand on Danny's shoulder.

They stayed there for some time, all with heavy hearts knowing what the following day would bring.

They managed to get through dinner, and Hiccup put a sleeping Zephyr in her crib for the night.

As he tucked Danny into bed one last time, he pulled up his old desk chair beside her bed, ready to tell her one more story.

"Strap in, because this is quite the story, Danny. I think this will be your favorite yet."

And he began to tell her the story of how he and Astrid fell in love, when they began dating while on Dragons Edge, and told her about their wedding day.

Since the ash from winter has blown out I've been doing some spring cleaning. Between the Dusty-in-the-oven debacle yesterday and the new mess from the whole family fighting over Sprite's rock candies (thank you Sprite <3), there's still a ways to go.

I've been thinking of remodeling my house this summer, mostly because of Astrid's evolution. She's too big to fit in the living room, and its the biggest room in my house. :(

The cleaning has taken up most of my time, but I got a visit the other day from one of my friends from in town. They're a teacher in town, focusing on Arts and Hoenn Studies, and brought by their new Furfrou pup. She was adorable. My friend named her Leppa for their favorite berry. <3

Since I've been behind in socializing Atlas, we let him play with Leppa until she got tired. It also got Astrid outside, mama shark was really feeling cramped after being in the house most of winter. :(

Hopefully we'll get to see more of Leppa soon, she was a real cutie. :)

Backstory

Revka had left Kirkwall far behind when she gave birth to Astrid. On a small farm outside of Highever, Revka kept the tiny Astrid strapped to her chest while she tended the gardens and fed the chickens. But when she saw the Templars coming up the road, she disappeared.

The mother and child did not remain in any one place for long after that; she worked where she could to make enough coin to get by, be that collecting herbs for the nights stew in a tavern, or mucking out the stables at a crossroads inn. She never gave her real name, and never let the child spend too much time alone in the company of others.

One stormy night, when Astrid was just five years old, Revka appeared on her cousin Leandra’s doorstep. Tired from running, she hoped to find sanctuary with her estranged family, and remained for a few weeks. Her paranoia kept her at odds with her cousin, and Malcolm Hawke observed that Astrid was already showing signs of magic at an early age—the same as his daughter Bethany. The two young girls were of an age together and became fast friends in that time, the difference being that Bethany was taught to control her magic whereas Astrid was told to ignore it and pretend she wasn’t a mage.

After a heated argument between Malcolm and Revka—in which Malcolm had offered to teach Astrid how to control her powers and Revka forbade him to even look at her child—she disappeared again, Astrid in tow. A few days after this incident, the Templars finally caught up; to Astrid, alone, sitting on the side of the road bundled in nothing but the clothes on her back and a dirty old cloak wrapped about her tiny shoulders. No one ever saw or heard from Revka again.

Her time in the Circle was mostly uneventful. Astrid struggled to make friends and was behind in terms of knowing her numbers and letters. She was adamant that her mother would come back for her, which the other mage children teased her about, as no one’s mother was coming for them.

She eventually made friends with Jowan, a year older than her, who helped her catch up with her reading and writing. She was bunk mates with Neria Surana, who was the closest thing to a sister she had ever known. And despite her early struggles, she had remembered her cousin Malcolm’s words about taking control of your magic and not letting it rule you—she studied hard and gained a firm grasp on her powers, exceeding many other kids her age.

She became defiant as a teenager, asking questions about why they couldn’t be free and finding the rules of the Circle oppressive. She didn’t want to remain in this cage forever and longed for a life outside the Circle walls. Her instructors believed she could be an Enchanter one day, but that just Wasn’t Good Enough. Regardless she started buckling down and studying hard in the hopes of passing her Harrowing and opening opportunities to leave the tower for Circle related business.

It was during this time she felt a rift between herself and her two friends. Neria had become distant, choosing the company of other elf mages, and Jowan was often nowhere to be found. When she did speak with them, they found her constant studying annoying, claiming she was “giving in” to the system.

Astrid was excelling at most schools of magic, but was struggling with healing spells and was soon set up to be tutored by Anders (who was given the tutoring job as a punishment for his latest escapades and a hope to keep him busy). During long hours studying together and her loneliness she started a friends-with-benefits affair with Anders that carried on until he escaped a fifth and final time—but not before she had grasped healing magic enough to take her Harrowing…

Nurse Helene

Loveliest gentlewoman in the world.

She takes her relationship with you as serious as her work. She is a very respectful lover, always making sure that she never oversteps any boundaries.

Is the type of lover that will pamper you if you had a hard day. Exhausted? She will make you a comfortable spot in the Klinikum for you two to cuddle in. Hungry? Be assured that she would somehow chase Chef Sauer out of the kitchen so she could make you a meal that actually tastes like food.

She always has time for you. Even when her schedule is filled to the brim, she always somehow squeezes you in there while never neglecting her patients.

When she is on break, she will take you to the park and relax with you on the benches. When possible, she also takes food with her so you two could snack on something while chatting about god knows what.

If you offer to help her with the patients, she will be beyond ecstatic and forever thankful. She is the only one doing any real work in this hospital and having someone by her side who takes over the tasks that require less medical knowledge, she could focus on the more complicated parts of her work and get done with them faster.

Arguments with her are very, very rare and don’t last very long. She hates it when you are upset with her.

Tries to keep you away from the demonic chief doctor. She doesn’t trust this man with an inch of her life and is aware that there is something…inhuman about him. She’s afraid that he’ll hurt you.

Nurse Astrid

You and Astrid met and fell in love with each other before Randolph’s terrible reign over the Heilwald Klinikum began.

You, as her romantic partner, always visited her when she was on break or if she had a less stressful day to spend time with her or to simply keep her company. But that all changed when that demonic chief doctor took over Friedrich’s position and spread terror by creating the loophole.

You were taken as a patient and Randolph had Astrid removed and stuffed her into an iron lung, letting her rot in the storage.

When you found her, you cried for her and swore revenge. But before you could make any idiotic move that could make your situation even worse, she begged you to stay as she didn’t want to lose you again. You, of course, complied.

Ever since then, you stayed at the storage and tried to make Astrid’s life as easy as you could, staying by her side as much as you could.

Nurse Anne

Nurse Anne is, despite being a horrific mutant now, still a kind and gentle soul that would do everything for her romantic partner.

She loves to spend time with you, no matter if she is working or if she is on a break. She always has time to chat with you.

Always manages to make you smile. No matter how down you feel, this woman somehow worms her way through the sadness of your heart numbness of your mind and tells a joke so good you couldn’t help but chuckle. She has a gift of making you feel better, no matter what bothers you.

She needs to be careful when touching you. Her body is completely electrified, and one wrong touch could seriously harm you. But don’t worry, she won’t rest until she found a way to snuggle and kiss you without giving you the greatest shock of your life. Literally.

Fights with this woman? Unbelievable, but it does happen from time to time. However, they don’t last very long and are mostly just small disagreements for what’s safe for you and what not. You know that she doesn’t want to lose you, so you can’t stay mad at her for too long.

Anne can’t sing. Her singing voice is nothing but horrendous, but she still does it because it brings her joy. Seeing her smile wider and far more genuine while she dances (stumbles) around and screeches her lungs out makes it bearable for you though, and you are able to ignore the pain.

Nurse Sabine

Nurse Sabine is Anne’s cousin and has a very similar personality.

Snuggles and kisses you whenever she gets the chance, showing her affection as much as she physically can. She is an angel and wants to make sure that you are feeling loved, and since she does not really have a way with words (as we have noticed when she escorted us to what has once been Dr. Randolph), she wants to show her commitment through actions.

Loves doing makeovers and dress ups. Our beautiful, ever smiling woman owns every type of outfit or costume and loves to do sleepovers with you while dressing you up as whatever you like.

Much like every other person, she tries her best to keep you away from Dr. Randolph, as she often sees what this…thing (she refuses to call him human) is capable of. She knows that he will turn you in some kind of twisted mutant and tear every bit of humanity from you, and she would do everything she could to prevent that from happening.

Unlike Anne, Sabine is an extraordinary singer with a voice of a thousand angels. She loves to sing to you whenever she is able to, dancing around with you and twirling you without a problem.

Is an absolute dog fan. If you have a dog or own any dog-like creature, she will be all over it and pamper it from head to claw.

Nurse Heideltraut

Dearest Nurse Heideltraut. A surprisingly good girlfriend despite her roughness and lack of empathy.

She is very protective of you and will always have you in her sight to assure your well-being, ready to beat the crap out of a patient should they dare to harass or even harm you.

She is a very loud and demanding person, and arguments between the two of you aren't rare and they tend to be quite intense. She will ignore you for several days after and pretend that you are not there, but eventually, if she is in the wrong, she will crave your affection far too much and swallow her pride to apologize physically. (She would NEVER sorry). If she is in the right, though, she will wait for you to come to her...most of the time.

She is the only one of the Nurses that doesn't mind Dr. Randolph being around you. She thinks that if he would have wanted to harm you, he would have done so already.

Makes sure that eat and drink enough so that you don't get sick. She says that she doesn't want another patient on her sick ward, but in truth, she cares for you and doesn't want you to suffer in any way. Not that she would ever admit that.

Is NOT a pet person. If you have a pet, she would most likely take forever to tolerate it. She forces herself to do so for the sake of you, but don't expect her to be friends with your companion. If you have a cat, though, make sure that it stays away from her. She's allergic.

Thought: Oscar is terribly ticklish but is terrified of anyone finding out and making him less intimidating.

Morris is the only one who knows. He tickles his older brother just to see him smile and it’s the only time he sees Oscar giggle at all.

When Oscar tries to get Morris off of him during these moments but is super gentle as to not hurt him - which means that he’s at Morris’ mercy until he’s done making Oscar laugh.

half the time when oscar flinches when anyone touches him or comes close, it’s because they almost touched or did touch a ticklish spot. more that than fear he’ll be hit. he’s so terrified of getting found out, of having this weakness mocked or used against him by someone who wants to hurt him. but he really can’t bring himself to mind it when it’s only morris exploiting it, when they’re alone and as safe as they can be. at most a teasing brush near oscar’s ribs or under his arms when they’re in public, the sort of movement that oscar can swipe back at and pretend it’s just a fight. morris always looks so amused and smug then, especially when he does it to make oscar stop mouthing off at someone or distract him from starting a real fight with someone else

when they’re alone, morris is his own version of merciless. when oscar won’t get up or out of bed or move, or he’s just sour or tired or angry, morris clambers on top of him and sits astride him and tickles him, giggling and shrieking himself as oscar gets more and more wound up and starts pretending to try and buck him off. oscar’s attempts are halfhearted at best, playfighting with a kid - usually keeping a hand on morris to make sure he won’t actually fall. he’s so terrified of hurting morris, of accidentally lashing out too hard and catching him across the face or something, so he mostly - for the only time in his life - just goes on the defensive. curls up and tries to grab at morris’ bony wrists to try and stop him, wriggling and laughing and making angry faces like he’s not still smiling. baring his teeth and growling. he always lets morris win in the end, and morris always looks so damn proud of himself.

Grey's Anatomy: Gunpowder and Lead (19x16)

Let's dive right in!

Cons:

This is a small thing but I thought I'd mention it because I noticed it: there's a scene where Addison and Bailey are walking down the hallway having a conversation, catching up on the harassment Bailey has been suffering, and you can see the actors walking super slowly to accommodate the dialogue in the scene. It was just so funny to watch them shuffle in slow-motion and pretend they were walking at a normal pace.

I've... seen Amelia go through this shit before. I've seen her hit her lowest of lows. I don't really want to watch her suffer anymore? I know that drama is inevitable on this show, but there's just something so draining and oppressive about seeing Amelia in this depressive state, and she's surly and snapping and people, and I'm just... already exhausted about it, I guess? Winston getting the brunt of Amelia's wrath because he "let" Maggie move? Like, girl, this was mostly Maggie's fault, let's be real.

Pros:

Kwan jumping on that patient and pinning him to the ground was pretty intense. I love this kind of character, who comes on strong to start as an abrasive, unfeeling sort of too-cool-for-you loner, but we see him trying to connect with Jules, we see him heroically throwing his body on someone to protect Bailey. I'm enjoying him more and more as the show continues. And then of course we see him with an ego boost over his own heroism, which felt appropriate. He's a complicated guy.

It was nice to see Addison! I was surprised, I thought her time on this season had come to an end. This whole story about Bailey is stressful and I'm waiting for things to come to a head even worse than they already have, so it's nice to at least get to see Addison as recompense. I love that Bailey actually froze in the moment when she was under threat, she ran away, she was scared. Then later, as she's processing, she gets angry. Addison gives her the opportunity to feel that anger, which is exactly what she needed! I also liked seeing protective, furious Ben for a second there. I'm worried about these two; they're like the last ongoing romantic relationship on this show I still want to see succeed.

Also, I burst into immediate tears when everybody decided to call Bailey's harassers and treat them with respect. I love how it was framed as a strategy: people have a harder time harassing someone they actually see as human. There was no placating, no promise that it would actually work, or that everyone would back off right away. But just the thought of all these people coming together to put in the effort, just in case it helps a little bit, just in case one or two people are convinced to back off... it was so beautiful and special.

Jules and Lucas spend the episode talking about love. Jules is scoffing at Blue's behavior, and Lucas is pining for Simone. They have a patient who's in the LARPer scene, and can't stop talking about Princess Astrid, who he wishes to confess his love to. I loved that the cynic, Jules, ended up seeing the woman show up because she had feelings for the patient, too. She's maybe starting to doubt some of her boundaries, as she watches Kwan go off on a date with another woman, that he asked her on, first. I'm not mad about it! Meanwhile, Lucas is clearly in love with Simone, and he asks Jules to be her maid of honor, because he's realized he can't stand up with her and watch her get married. Good progress, although I'm sure the odds of this wedding actually happening are pretty low.

Yasuda drops a surgical instrument on the floor during surgery because she's not getting enough sleep, working another job just to afford to live. Amelia reams her out, but Addison interferes. Helm then comes to tell Teddy that Yasuda is burning out and that it's her responsibility to do something about it. I love this! I love seeing Helm stand up for her, I love someone noticing and saying something and hopefully disrupting the cycle.

As much as Amelia annoyed me this week, because I feel like I don't need to watch this story-line with her again, I did like that she got some tough love from Addison, and I liked even more that Richard was there to say that he's also having some abandonment feelings. I hope that Richard stays in this role for as long as he's on the show, of the kindly mentor figure who can be there to comfort the younger doctors. I got a little misty-eyed for the second time in one episode, when Amelia hugged Richard. And it was fun to see a glimpse of Maggie on the phone, too! I like it when the characters who left still feel like they're around. (Speaking of which, Cristina sent supplies from overseas with a note! Yay for a Cristina mention!)

Jules and Lucas perform an emergency surgery and save a patient's life, but Schmitt tells them off for it. Clearly he's remembering his own past trauma of acting without supervision when he was still an intern. I like that he imparted to them the seriousness, he told them to remember how scared they'd felt, but he also didn't overreact, and he reassured them that they did the procedure well and saved a life.

Simone continues to show what a compassionate and thoughtful doctor she's going to be, comforting the wife of a man who is getting bullets removed from a shooting that happened years ago. I was really moved by her comforting the woman, and then the patient, his utter relief at having the physical remnants of that horrific trauma taken out of his body... I loved it!

I'm still kind of on pins and needles about how they will continue with this Luna hearing loss story-line. This episode, I did enjoy, though. We see that Jo is having a really hard time with it, which is understandable if not ideal, and I was at first worried that they seemed to be focusing on how bad and tragic it would be if Luna were to be Deaf. But we see that both Link and Schmitt are trying to be there for her, and Jo reveals her stress is about facing these new parenting challenges. Schmitt assures her that she's a great mother and will continue to be so! And then there's the end moment, where Jo gets test results back and gets the great news that Luna doesn't have a tumor or any other underlying illness that might put her life in danger: she just has progressive hearing loss! I think Jo's reaction of delight and relief here really saves this episode from being kinda gross, because yeah, sure, it makes sense that a mom would have a hard time with her daughter losing her hearing, and being nervous about how to handle it. But if everything was all doom and gloom about Luna going Deaf for very much longer, it would have left a bad taste in my mouth. Instead, we see that a lot of Jo's fears were about Luna's overall health, and she's okay and even kind of excited to take on the new challenge of learning ASL and figuring out how to go forward from here. I'm still watching closely and carefully to see how they handle this story, but I think they're doing an okay job so far.

And that's where I'll stop. I'm kind of already sick of Amelia's grieving cycle, and I'm annoyed if this is really how the Kai/Amelia romance ends. But all in all, I was impressed with this episode, and I'm still super worried about what might happen with Bailey from here!

If it’s not obvious already, I’m a self-shipper. I only have one f/o which is my Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist, despite them being evil and all that, they have been a huge support for me through some really tough times. E - Experiment - Are they eager to try new things in bed, or do they prefer more traditional love-making?

He's more into traditional love-making, and that's good enough for him. He's not against trying out new things, getting out of his comfort zone, as long as he talks about it with his partner and both agree, because he doesn't like it when it's imposed on him. But this new experience is rather occasional, just for fun now and then.

N - Nature - Have they ever thought about having sex outside, or doing other inappropriate things there? 

Doing it outside is more normal for him to do it between four walls on a bed. He has a tent with a comfortable bed inside, but rarely uses it. Enzo is more inclined to outdoor activities, often against or in his car, but also wherever he feels like it and what's around him. After all, he's always on the road, always between errands, so there's rarely much indoors to fuck in. He does sleep in the occasional motel, but even there, he's often alone.

Now that he's with Jay, he can crash in an apartment, but as the two chaotic guys they are, it won't be the most used place (I remember from your answers hehe), the parking lot is often more used than the bedroom xD

Z - Zoinks - Have they ever been caught/compromised? How did they react?

The problem with banging outdoors, even in the middle of nowhere, is that there's always a chance someone will catch you. Enzo's been caught a few times, but he didn't give a shit. Often he'd stop, tell the person to piss off because he's busy, and go back to what he was doing. He said the same thing to a Militech agent when he was parked on the side of the road. The agent didn't like this, of course, so Enzo jumped behind the wheel, sped off and escaped from the corpo, before stopping a few kilometers later, looking at his partner and saying, "So, where were we??" (see here how adrenalin turns him on).

What really turns him off is being surprised by his parents. They don't care, they just go into the tent to talk and come right out. On one occasion, his father even knocked on the car window to tell him that the break was over. Radical to stop any mood…

O - Oscar - Do they enjoy role-playing? 

He's never taken it seriously, never really had the opportunity. It's mostly light play, more for laughs, than real sex play. As I said earlier, he's not closed to the idea, but he's not the one to suggest it.

J - Jungle - How well groomed is their carpet, etc.? 

It's hard enough for the poor boy to maintain a decent beard, so the rest…. Enzo has Mediterranean blood, he's not Italian for nothing, he's hairy. On his arms, under his arms, on his chest and, of course, on his lower part. He tries to trim from time to time to avoid getting hair anywhere, but he's not the most assiduous. Sorry not sorry !

Which bed? Enzo is more into outdoor activities, so his bed is rather quiet. But he's agile, he needs to be able to move around and be quite flexible when he's car-fucking, especially as he's a boy of almost 1.90 m, with another boy as tall as Jay (also very horny and impatient).

His favorite position? Pinning the other against the car or against a wall, either with his back to him, to make him lean over the hood of the car, or face to face, where he can lift his partner, because yes, baby driver has strength ! But what he likes most of all, I think, is to have his sexy driver astride him, so he can touch him and kiss him all over the body. He'll prefer to manage the pace, but Jay doesn't always go for it, this brat !

Enzo hasn't used toys for a long time, he's just let himself be tempted by chance. Let me tell you a story: Virgil had to go and see Wakako on Jig Jig and took his brother along. While waiting for the conversation to end, Enzo wandered around the stores, discovering things he'd never seen before. He was both fascinated and horrified by certain things.
