Here's another one of my Ikevamp questions (this one I've been wondering ever since the game released)
What happens with the bodies after the residents get revived?
Like, how does Comte make sure that people won't start wondering where the fuck the dead guy went
Does he just get a different body that looks exactly like the person he revives? Does maybe the body gets split in 2 (like, 1 dead body and 1 revived body)?
Does he just not give a shit and let people wonder where the body is????
Also brings me to another (different but slightly related) question:
How the hell did he revive Jean without being caught by the people who were watching?
Jean was literally publicly executed, and considering Comte always revives people who are "on the brink of death", Jean should've still been at the stake at the moment of being revived

ok i have avoided talking abt my datv thoughts but now ive finished and slept on it here it is. this is huge btw and really just a way to process my thoughts for my own peace of mind. and get out what i need to say. so yeah word salad below
2 disclaimers before i start. firstly i think im going to be SUPER blunt and clear about my thoughts on this post but then i will mostly be putting the matter to bed in my heart bc i am not someone who delights in being a hater nor do i take comfort in it. i will take from this the things i enjoyed and keep my distance from the rest. second disclaimer: ultimately i think i will still enjoy being a part of the fandom and seeing other people enjoy the game, because it will endear it to me and maybe take away the pain im feeling right now, so this isnt a long rant to make you feel bad about enjoying the game if you do like it! in fact quite the opposite. it comforts me that there are people who find value in the game and i hope in watching you play it i may be able to eventually be able to say the same
that being said . obviously i didnt like the game
which is an extremely difficult thing for me to say. i went into this game thinking "i will at the VERY least enjoy the game. not love it but at least like it. but im sure ill love it". it really is quite distressing for me that it didnt even really reach that bar for the most part. i TRIED to like it. i begged this game to give me ANY handhold at all that i could cling to, to forgive and like this game. i think the things i liked err more on the technical side. the graphics i loved, the character DESIGN was *fantastic*. the art. the pacing. the vague vision of what they were obviously nebulously aiming for. and honestly, i mostly enjoyed the main plot although i wish it had been more disciplined and constrained with the lore it was trying to expand on. act 3 was fantastic and naturally i am happy and fulfilled for the most part by the conclusion of solas's story, who i still believe was and is the best written "villain" of dragon age. sorry logang and meredith nation but i do still stand by this.
but thats really about it. as a disclaimer i am not an origins puritan or a da2 diehard or anything like that. i have loved (almost equally) EVERY single iteration of dragon age which has been released. i am one of the few people who sees equal value in inquisition and origins. i love them both so deeply. i couldnt pick between them.
for me what i love the MOST about dragon age - and which every single previous game has always nailed despite other flaws - is the characters. right under that is the world's capacity for introspection. and unfortunately nothing in this game provided that for me
regarding the characters: i do not care about a single one of them unfortunately. or at least i do not CARE about them the way that i have CARED about the other previous games companions. companions i would write banter about !!! just for fun when i was bored!!!! i would say my only exception is harding, but even then i care about her only because i care about her due to inquisition. overall i just found them all so ..... shallow. and devoid of any of the conflict or nuance or ethical quandries that make biowares stories so compelling - and sure, usually controversial! i would give ANYTHING for this game to have been controversial. for a unforgivable RO, or a problematic fave, or a cancelled wife. did bioware forget that their most beloved or at least enjoyed characters are people like anders, merrill, mordin solus, blackwall, sten, loghain, SOLAS??? i dont understand HOW they could have forgotten that, because solas is literally right there in game and handled (in my opinion as a fan) well. love him or hate him or dont care about him, he is such a hallmark of great bioware writing (in dai if nothing else) - characters who are not EASY to like. characters who are not SAFE to write and who WILL generate criticism from all sides because they are written boldly and unapologetically, strengthened by a foundation of consistent ideals, clear objectives and beautiful faults. characters that do not NEED you to like them, but instead invite you to engage with them critically. solas, even to someone who hates him, is nuanced and morally complex enough to muse and fight over for 10 whole years. hes IN this game, just as ethically murky as ever, but the morally grey hallmark of biowares writing really does kind of live and die with him alone. the rest of the companions feel like they barely made it out of their concept phase. what are lucanis's flaws??? genuinely asking. other than being a murderer who exists in an organization which buys and trains literal child slaves of course, but i'll get to that in a sec (because bioware sure as fuck didnt). um, i guess you could say hes broody?? and emmrich too. what actual flaws does he have?? he has a fear of death, as we're TOLD, but it does not really reflect in the overall convesations we have with him over the course of the game. mostly hes just.... a little bumbling i guess. bellara's flaw is being a scatterbrain. harding's is that shes..... angry??? but shes not???? fucking come on. i really felt the lack of actually being able to TALK to these people at the end of act 2, when i realized i still felt like i havent really MET any of them. and yet here rook is talking about found family and being a team. ok
and then there are the romances. which from my perspective - having romanced taash - and my friends who have romanced lucanis, neve and davrin..... WHAT romances. davrin's full romance is 20 minutes in a 30 PLUS HOUR GAME. solas had the least amount of content out of any companion in inquisition and was a last minute unintentional RO and still had like easily 50 minutes of content. so why did these romances feel like nothing. actually nothing. i was so excited for taash, but their romance straight up felt like neither rook nor taash even wanted to be there. i forgot they were technically together at certain points. zero chemistry. zero intimacy. all TELLING zero SHOWING. if you had told me that i would be saying these sorts of things about a writer like trick weekes a month ago i would call you fucking crazy to your face. i cannot reconcile that taash was written by the same person who wrote solas. i cannot reconcile that mary kirby - who wrote the fucking chant of light - wrote lucanis. its so dire. its devastating actually.
lastly i want to talk about my other point - bioware's famed emphasis on introspection and ethically quandries. again, i'm genuinely experiencing a sense of profound whiplash because when it comes solas's character you can still see it. its still there. they actually doubled down on making him worse than he was in trespasser which i LOVED and thought was so incredibly promising. they could have caved to solavellan fans and uwu-ified him but they didnt. thats great.
but where was that energy for literally anything else. everything has been defanged - even minrathous, the capital of the tevinter slave trade, does not even ADDRESS the elephant in the room of slavery. and i know because i played a shadow dragon. so tell me why i as a shadow dragon am happily allied with the crows, who solely exist to assassinate politicians and BUY SLAVES. THEY BUY SLAVES. THEY BUY SLAVES AS CHILDREN AND TRAIN/TORTURE THEM TO MURDER. HELLO??????????? there is no commentary made about the mages/templars. there is no discussion of the treatment of the elves in the north or Anywhere. there is no discussion of why exactly blood magic is or isnt acceptable - they simply tell us its bad. all the theories of the last 10 years were answered with handwaved comments or bare bones codex entries that honestly stripped so much nuance away from so many things (the blight, my BELOVED) that i dont know how im going to go about fixing it or making it right in my head. the introspective nature of dragon age always went hand in hand with player choice, but there really WAS no choice in this game as so there IS no real capacity for other interpretations or schools of thought. it is so..........................bleak.
i think the thing that finally made it click in my head that this game had fundamentally let me down was the gloom howler quest. and i know im not alone on this. for those of you who dont know - the gloom howler, "isseya" was the protagonist of the dragon age novel "the last flight". i would HIGHLY recommend you read it, especially if you're an origins fan. super bleak, super political, not flashy at all in terms of magic. it was set 500 years pre origins, during the 3rd blight. isseya is very similar to characters like loghain and solas in a way - a richly complex, beautifully intricate, terribly thought provoking character who did HORRIFIC things for the most NOBLE reason you could imagine, under the most traumatic of circumstances. im tearing up just thinking about her story, and how the title "the LAST flight" foreshadowed that her story had a definitive, bittersweet, finite and peaceful ending.
and then this game did THAT to her. turned her into a grotesque caricature of what she was. stripping her of her nuance and her capacity for atonement or forgiveness. and once again, i do not fucking get it. she was obviously brought back because she is a parallel to the solas dilemma. so WHY is she not afforded the same opportunity for empathy that he is. why is bellara's brother not either. its insane. its literally insane. i cannot begin to imagine the oversight or laziness or WHATEVER IT WAS that occured to have this game turn out this way.
there are innumerable other problems with the game that im not going to get into because what ive said above is the main crux of my problem. introspective and character. those are all i really wanted from this game, and like..... i thought we would get that. because the game centered around solas. and i know people dislike his fans for very fair reasons, but i hope those who know me know that i enjoy him not because hes hot (he is though) but because he is terrible. i love him because they made a character who was TERRIBLE, and then gave you the task of using your head and refelcting on your own morality and values and deciding and arguing and meditating over whether he is worth loving anyway. to me, solas is the person i point to when i want to describe why i love dragon age. its complicated, its nuanced, it is terrible and wonderful and everything in between depending on the angle you look at it from. and so having the writer of a character like THAT in charge of the whole game filled me with hope and dissuaded so many of my fears for this game. but i was wrong apparently.
so now im left with a feeling akin to survivors guilt. genuinely. because at the VERY least, despite me saying all of these negative things, i at least finished the game crying happy tears and being overjoyed that my favourite character was handled well and got an ending i enjoyed. and yet that happiness *i* got to feel and that glimmer of good writing was paid for at the expense of literally everything else. i feel almost personally responsible in a way, which sucks. im sorry to all the people who did not enjoy or care about solas, im sorry that you really did get nothing out of this game. i hope we can all be comforted by the trilogy we have and will always have, and i hope we can all take what good parts we enjoyed out of veilguard and make peace with the rest
leaving this youtube comment my friend sent me which is unfortunately a summary of how i feel about the game as a whole.
#tay plays datv#datv#datv spoilers#datv critical#nobody needs to read this but fgdjkfgjk if you do#i hope it is clear that i write from a perspective of profound love for this series and all its characters.

hi sleepless!!!! i got the john deathridge translation of the ring of nibelung and (obviously.) im still in the. process of reading it; but i found the way these two parts of the synopses were written really/ interesting. especially since it seems to be the most relevant to khaneriahn lore. maybe you can make something out of it (unless you have already and im. not remembering ahuadshiwha) :'')
-> im not too sure how relevant scene two is. but i thought scene two and three were especially interesting. at least in regards to the major figures in khaneriahn lore !!!!
hiiiii crepe!!! Love to see you in my askbox as always. (Sorry if this is written a bit lazily your girl is SLEEPY :') )
Ok so these initial secenes are all what I feel like we've already connected to genshin counterparts and its just a matter of "why tho" and "what tho" lol yknow? For example WHICH ALBERICH IT WAS THAT STOLE THE RING and how does it all connect to rhine and the catacalysm? (by the timeline of events its looking like it could maybe possibly be anfortas, especially since he was in sumeru at the time and then the ring was last seen with dain who was also in sumeru, but then it wouldnt make sense in terms of the wotan conflict since anfortas was APPARENTLY ok with the government. So maybe pierro since he "failed to earn the favor of the previous ruler)
Also speaking of which: very intresting how we have an actual ring in game instead of the usual poetic counterpart thing hoyo likes to do. (The pari zurvan talks about having seen dain with at the end of the pari quest. Which was 500 years ago and its kinda concerning that we dont have any more recent sightings or records of it. Where the fuck is the ring.)
Anyway. Loge here could be surtalogi since they're both associated with fire. (Or in game surtr counterpart if we have any.) It could also be pierro since he's supposed to be wotan's advisor. As well as the 'burn away the old world for me' thing. Also him and irmin werent on the best of terms by the time of the catacalysm just like loge and wotan later in the ring.
Lets talk about this line too:
"Whoever can fashion an all powerful ring from the gold will inherit the world."
A very far cry, but it kinda reminds me of this line from caribert:
Chlothar: "...And the one who controls the Abyss can control everything!"
Im like 99% sure it all ties back to the loom of fate somehow (if only hoyo would TELL US MORE ABPUT THE LOOM OF FATE INSTEAF OF ONL6 A FUCKING NAME FIR THREE YEATS THAT THIS GAME'S BEEN OUT)
also freia being referred to as the "keeper of the golden apples of eternal youth" here. I dont even need to say it alice golden apple archipelago immortality etc etc

🔥 1, 2, 9 for sterek
oooooh thanks i love it <3
the character everyone gets wrong
ooooh. um. all of them? laksdjflkasdlf BUT its hard to blame anyone when the writing is a little all over the place. i think its easy to boil characters down to oversimplified traits that ignore other important parts of those characters' experiences. obviously this happens with scott REAL BAD but it happens with stiles and derek too. i think for me a big thing is that those boys are both INCREDIBLY fucked up. in very different ways but, still. stiles is not a happy go lucky nerd. he's violent and stubborn and yes he's smart as hell but he's also carrying a lot of baggage. derek is trauma personified, and it can be really fucking hard to write him because we don't usually see his responses to that trauma on screen and the show sometimes forgets or conflicts itself with regard to what happened to him but no matter how you slice it that boy is deeply fucked up.
2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
NEVER top or bottom? nah. my boys are vers kings for sure (if for no other reason than that they WILL be fucking in every conceivable location configuration style position etc no stone left unturned type of shit) BUT i hc that derek prefers to bottom. why? because he deserves to get tenderly railed by his scrawny ass boyfriend and because i said so and because look at that ass somebody should put a dick in there and stiles is happy to volunteer
9. worst part of canon
wheres that video about teen wolf where the girl is pretending to talk to jeff davis and she says 'look at him! you took a perfectly good himbo and gave him ptsd!' or something to that effect. a lot of it? teen wolf is fucking poster child for wasted potential. the characters are so fucking compelling but then the show forgets what happened to them two episodes ago. its a lot. why did erica and boyd have to die? why dont we fucking see derek dealing with that? or with isaac leaving? why don't we ever do anything with both stiles and derek living with the guilt that they killed their moms (GOD the fic i wanted to write about this aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh it would be so dark and angsty and you would hate it mwah). we dont get consistent pack lore. WHY DONT PAPA STILINSKI AND MAMA MCCALL EVER GET TOGETHER WTF?!?! why doesn't melissa put her fucking hair up at work? why does nobody acknowledge that theres a sterek mpreg baby in the movie? you know what, we shouldnt talk about the movie, we don't have time for all that. what even is stiles and why don't we ever fucking figure it out? re: kira - WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! how is everyone on this show queer but nobody is actually queer except cory and mason and one of the weird twins. why did someone approve the two twins becoming one werewolf? ew. idk man. i could keep going but we've all suffered enough. teen wolf my most beloved terrible tv show <3 always in my heart
🔥 choose violence ask game 🔥(specify which fandom)
#hater asks#lostcol#teen wolf#please dont let me think about an abandoned sterek wip in the year of our lord 2024#IM NOT STRONG ENOUGH

hi pix i know nothing about qsmp or purgatory but my streamers are in it now so please could you give me a quick summary of lore and stuff i need to know? :3
okay so this is a purgatory event so you really dont need to know any lore as i dont think it will affect any of the competitors at all or at least very little of them.
purgatory is a competitive event. its focused on winning. whether this be by strategy or pure luck. its truly anyones game even if you arent the most skilled player.
last time there were three teams and a lot at stake. which were the eggs lives. only one team could win.
this time the video stated ONLY ONE PERSON COULD WIN the “grand prize” so. like you. the audience nor the participants know anything about purgatory two besides that. and it seems to have a radioactive theme surrounding the event which may be linked to the fact the previous purgatory island where the first event took place got “blown up” by an atomic bomb. so theres that.
last purgatory there was i think three events if im not wrong i could be. all very strategy and pvp type of events. events inspired by capture the flag, bed wars, and such.
every day teams would compete and a single team had the chance of winning daily. by the end whoever had the most wins won the entire event overall. to win you had to gain points. percentages for points were different every day. so the twitter account would tweet something like “Kills 20% Contracts 50% Tasks 30%” which gave the players an idea of what they had to prioritize to win that day. some days were more kill focused and others more tasks and contracts focused.
tasks are your personal missions for the day. things like collecting a certain amount of blocks and killing a number of mobs. these were relatively easy to get done and an easy way to gain points for the day.
contracts were more complicated versions of tasks. whichever team completed and claimed the contract by the end of the day would gain the most points from it. so you’d have instances where One Contract was regarding collecting sand. if green team collected 30k sand and claimed that contract there would be a cooldown until someone else could add a higher number like 31k sand and claim that contract back for their team. taking all the points that the previous team had gained from that contract. this is where we’d get a lot of. interesting moments. overall contracts matter depending on the percentage they get you that day.
I don’t quite recall the schedule but the purgatory server would open at a specific time and close at a specific time. i remember watching by like 1pm est and it closing near like 10pm/12am est. each player had a play time limit so you had to be smart and manage and coordinate your time well with your team. YOU DID NOT WANT TO RUN OUT OF TIME BEFORE THE SERVER CLOSED. YOU ALWAYS WANTED AT LEAST SOMEONE IN YOUR TEAM WITH PLAY TIME LEFT BEFORE THE SERVER CLOSED. arguably the most important times were right as the server opens and right as it closes. the last minutes before the server closes will be the most stressful part of your day by far. anything can change. anyone can win even if its just a minute on the clock.
general game stuff. you lose hunger quicker and food rots so you need to be careful of that. you have hydration so you need to drink water or something like tea to make sure you dont die of dehydration. all the mobs are buffed like insanely buffed. you can have prot 4 diamond armor and still get your ass whooped by an enderman. it is difficult.
NOW. there were also disaster events. like toxic fog, blizzards, meteors, increased hunger (passive mobs also attack you), quicksand (you sink into the floor if you stop moving), earthquakes (if you are in a cave RUN AND GET OUT. THE ROOF WILL CRUSH YOU also nausea effect), mini you (you shrink into a like one block height and are slow), reversed controls, acid rain, radiation (if you have radiation and are nearby crops, animals, or players they will begin to take damage), etc. these would happen in random intervals and you NEED to be prepared for them because if you arent. you will die. and dying lowers your percentage. hence negativity impacting your chances of a win that day. you prepare for these disasters by having certain items for instance the toxic fog has the gas mask counter. all events have a counter. you just have to be fast.
heres the thing though. that was purgatory one. i am 100% sure this time will be different so everything i am telling you could be completely changed and adapted after all the feedback from purgatory one. i dont know if the point system will work the same, i dont know if the disasters will be the same, i dont know if there will be pre determined teams or if it’s purely you make your own alliances, i dont know if the schedule for the server or play time will be different, i dont know WHAT THE STAKES ARE, i dont know. anything could change. but what probably wont change is the anguish of purgatory. because the entire point is to make it feel torturous and draining and hardcore enough to condemn the “sinners”. that is what The Watcher calls the players. The Watcher is the entity that runs the Purgatory event.
it is meant to be a free for all. it is meant to be raw and merciless. so heads up. its okay if you get frustrated. it happens to all of us. now this isn’t specifically at you but to the community overall never never never release your frustrations OVER A MINECRAFT EVENT on the streamers. purgatory caused a lot of discourse and stress for the streamers because the community, specifically on twitter, got toxic. but also as a qsmp blogger tumblr was also not flawless. so again if another player kills your favorite streamer or the team youre supporting is not doing well and getting targeted… it is not the end of the world. the whole point is to be aggressive and WIN by any means. if someone wants to kill someone in game without a second of thought and not allow them to even beg.. so be it. if someone wants to raid someones base and burn all the shit they worked hours for.. so be it. if someone gets into an unfair unbalanced pvp fight and they lose everything.. so be it. it is purgatory. my advice to FULLY ENJOY IT is don’t take it too seriously and filter any neg or discourse tags lol.
heres the thing. purgatory one had certain rules established after a few days and after feedback. when it initially started spawn killing was allowed and as you can imagine after a few days a rule was set to no longer allow spawn killing. im assuming for purgatory two certain rules will be set before the event and creators will be informed of them. i imagine purgatory two will be a more polished version of the original purgatory though im sure it too will have some flaws and criticisms to be had.
besides that purgatory is a very fun event with a lot of funny moments and cool interactions between streamers and i think purgatory two will be 10x better than the first. any new viewers have a lot of awesome stuff to look forward to. you guys are going to love the admins and i just know a lot of cool things are planned and prepared as they always are for qsmp events.
ALSO IF YOU SEE ELQ (ElQuackity) JUST KNOW THAT SEXY BASTARD IS A BITCH ASS MOTHERFUCKER. anyways hope you enjoy it

hello and happy birthday!! I wanted to thank you for your art, your comics always make me smile anytime I see them and I really love how expressive the faces you draw are! Your demon OC's are also very cool looking... would you like to tell something about them? do you make these for some story or just for fun? 👀
Hope you have a good day.. or night!
thank you!!
my demon oc's are just for fun! they belong to a series of stories "demonicismos" which i don't plan on ever writting. sometimes i don't even remember their stories! i always find myself revising these characters and changing stuff about them and how their world works. i haven't got the opportunity to infodump about these uys in years (actually counting for how long some of them have been around is making me sick)
im going to talk a lot about them. like. A LOT
checking the demonicismos tag on my blog led me to discover i have never really posted much about them, despite the fact that i made charater charts in 2020 or something (unavailable to me atm. most drawings of these characters are away from me rn)
nowadays i don't really care much about them. i've thought about doing a digital card game with them like south park: phone destroyer (yes i used to be into south park. im not ashamed of it. im using this example bc i really liked how a kid could only ever be in the battle field one side at the time. if your opponent played character A and you also had that one, you had to wait until they opponent's died. i also thought about playing around with character dinamics. if a character saw someone they hated join their team, they'd join the enemy team and vice-versa. i got distracted so i never started programming it)
currently im mostly trying to redesign the characters as an exercise for myself. these were the original concepts for egil (pink), marcel (orange/red) and antonio (yellow), versus more recently (i am unhappy in regards to marcel and antonio)
Design Rules
my ideas have changed over time and with them how characters should look. first there weren't any rules, i just drew whatever. then i choose that every demon should have horns and a tail even in human form - it would be a reminder of what they lost. they'd never be human again. then i went back and forth on how much demons could change their shape. it ended with all demons having a human form and a demon form, with some having specific shapeshifting habilities but always with horns and a tail (egil can stretch his limbs but mostly does so in order to be the tallest guy in the room) my last rule, added for this exercise, is that all demons always have their human face. the idea came from that undertale quote - "despite everything its still you" no matter what you do its still you. the good. the bad. you. demons can blame their behaviour on the "corruptive nature of hell" but its them
Basic Lore
i debated myself over wheter or not i'd talk indept about worldbuilding lore, which would triple this post's size. let's go through the basics. people die and become demons in hell. hell is divided into numbered layers and where someone goes after they die is judged according to the motto "nobody deserves to suffer". people that actively stopped others from suffering go to layer 1 and people that found joy in other's suffering go to 9. a demon belongs to a layer but can go to the ones below it, but not above (demons from 5 can go to 6,7,8,9 but not 4,3,2,1). demons are souls, and their physical bodies are made of mud transformed by that soul. i was inspired by some papers i read on witchcraft. demons couldn't manifets physical bodies so they'd trick people with smoke, gases and dust in the air a demon can only have one body at a time. if their arm is cut off 1) they reattach it or 2) a new one grows at the same pace the other turns back into mud. if the entire body is destroyed they reform from the mud in ground demons dont need to eat or sleep but feel hunger and sleepyness. hell is a punishement for their behaviour so layer 1 is ok, layer 9 is... not. money is also a thing. because this is hell
demons have powers based on personality and character flaws
a demon's size is based on their strength - how big their soul is - but their human form is the size of their human alive self. there are 3 ways for a soul to grow. 1) feel strong emotions, then rest and absorve those emotions. its important to rest. 2) cannibalism. eating other demons body part will give that part's strength 3) deals. a demon can share their power. deals are fast but demand consent. cannibalism is slow but nobody can stop it
Finally talking about the Characters
i don't remember very well the first story i made. it was about a boy that had another boy living in his head. and the boy in his head was really angry because he couldn't do anything and when he got extra angry things started to burn and melt around them
miguel (or michael or any other version of this name)... actually i just remembered i wanted to do this guy's story
Egil. his original design was based off angel dust from the hazbin hotel pilot and i don't think he has changed that much.
those blue branches on his head are the guy who killed him. there are ways to permanetly end a demon and after egil did that, the dude fused into his head. the pink arms and legs are rubber gloves/boots. he's a biologist, specialized in genetics. his house/layer is full of vats filled with unnatural stuff growing in there. he doesn't have friends, he's prone to anger and always has to be the smartest person in a room - this goes with his tendency to always be the tallest person in a room. his shapeshifting powers come from his unhappines with himself and inferiority complex. he used to love biology but now tries to gain knowledge just so he can know more than the people around him. he gets angry easily so he's an unpleasant person to be around so he doesn't have any friends so he convinces himself he doesn't need anyone and i hope im making sense here
antonio and marcel. father and son. marcel my baby. you deserve a redesign more than anything
back when the stories where set in an alternative earth with history similar to ours, antonio was an italian american. now i don't know. he went around killing fascists and made immortality magic so strong one of those "get rid of you permanetly" things just sent him to hell and is now lodge in his heart. he can remove the sword and use it as a weapon but his beating human heart is there and removing it will kill him permanently (unless you put the sword through another heart) in hell he had time to think and understood that he was only killing fascists to saciate his bloodthirst on people he deemed deserving of death. the true way of ending fascism is with good infrastructure and school system. killing fascists became an hobby
marcel... my sweet son marcel that deserves better colors. rules don't apply to him he can do whatever he wants and i'd let him. technically a cannibal
quick sketch of the sisters. i don't rememeber their names. i dont even remember if they had names. based on a bird and on a pupper/spider. cannibal vs deals
they're both very manipulative. the bird one, the older sister, always got the upper hand at home so the spider one let out her frustrations by manipulating and controlling people. the bird one can turn people to birds and control them if they hear her play her harp. this counts as cannibalism (slow and no consent needed). the spider one manipulates weaker demons into bellonging to her by deals. in their story they end up fighting each other as they scream their frustrations, coming to the conclusion that everything is their mother's fault (wrong)
barbara and barbara, one is based off a carnivorous plant and the other a bear
i had never thought of them as friends until i started the redesigns but now i kinda like the idea. they're both cannibals with my favourite being the plant one. in this drawing she's missing teeth on those big green jaws. she closes them with some guy inside and digests him
i have so many more characters but i've also been writting this the whole afternoon
#i really enjoyed getting to remember all of this#i don't think of these guys very often#so it was nice#xavier#demonicismos

i'm in agreement with what you've put on your blog about hermitcraft not being an rp server- it just isn't and i'm kind of sick of new age mcyt fans treating it as such. i am curious though about where you draw the line (or even if you do draw a line) between rpf and "character" fanfiction. as you've mentioned, fans are the ones taking the improv bits in videos, creating their own "lore" out of it, and shipping those characters together. obviously, the lore characters are very much linked to their youtuber counterparts, but it's not like most hermitshippers want the real life grown men and women to kiss each other or even are referring to the actual flesh and blood youtubers in their fanmedia (the term cubito from spanish mcyt/qsmp folks comes to mind). do you personally consider this to be rpf?
the rpf topic in this situation is veryyyy hard to make a conclusive answer on and the one i make is one i think people shouldnt take as fact, everyone can decide personally what it means for them. my constant mindset, due to the subjective thoughts, just ends up being "is it rpf? maybe. i dont know. i dont care anymore" but i can explain more of what i really do think
considering i came from 2011~ minecraft youtube there was no concept of "characters" for youtubers outside of blatant series like... shadow of israphel and a bit later, lords of minecraft. there was nothing comparable to what we have today in terms of roleplay. they were still The Person just in minecraft and many of us back then, myself included, called it rpf. and we even wrote fics outside of the minecraft settings-- we wrote stuff in the real world, but it all just looked the same to us because we did not have any separation between a person and a character made out of them. it was the youtuber to me, whether or not i throw them into a lore heavy high fantasy AU (which i did lol), it did not come off any different to me than the fics written about them chilling at minecon.
i took a number of years away from this fandom and so the change like... oof it was a lot to understand. it confused me a lot (still does), i did not at all get this idea of separating them into their own character. the thing is, the extent to which people do so is again, subjective.... but for the most part the point nowadays is to say its not the Real Person at all anymore, even if the difference is only that there is absolutely no mention of the outside world and it is often heavily enforced to remember it is Not the real guy.
and thats where it just gets complicated. whenever i write i always generally imply its a game. and if its not a game i still think of it as guys playing a game. they are behind a screen and i may even reference the real world. so for me? yeah, its in the vein of rpf if we're looking at it that way. people who create a fictional realm with the guys made into characters that fit into this crafted world, well i guess its not... or is it?
the whole topic of saying hc isnt roleplay isnt to scare everyone into realizing they were writing rpf the whole time. but kinda to say- one stop being afraid of the label rpf. and two honestly i define "rpf" fandoms as a fandom built around real people. mcyt is built around real people. no matter how much you do make a character out of the youtuber its still in many regards.... the youtuber.
so yeah this isnt a conclusive answer some may want. short: it is always rpf because i define rpf as being a fandom based around real people. when it comes down to specific content (headcanons, fics, art) its totally fine and makes sense to not consider it that individually but in an overall sense i would categorize it as such because i also grew from an mcyt fandoms who saw it that way

Some ramblings about Memory and why I’m happy it wasn’t canonized
Honestly the more I think about the story, the happier I am that Memory (a winner of the Memories of the Dead canonization contest) was never officially canonized. And Im saying this as someone who absolutely adores Nidhiki as a character and would've liked to see more content of him, especially one that explores his psyche in a nuanced manner.
Before we go on a few disclaimers. First off, yes, I'm aware that Memory is fan-made and that some people see critiquing fanfics as bad, at the very least unless the author personally requested it. And I completely understand that sentiment given that fanfics are hobbies and the writers may not always want critique on stuff they worked on for personal fun and passion. Thing is, Memory was not only submitted to a canonization contest, but was one of the winners. The only reason it (and the other winners of the contest) weren't canonized was because Greg wasn't allowed to visit BZPower anymore (or had it to do with LEGO quitting Bionicle g1 completely in preparation for g2, don't remember tbh). In other words, Memory was this close getting canonized, and was only left out due to external circumstances. That makes criticizing Memory fair game in my opinion.
Secondly: I actually like Memory as a story. It's well written, explores Nidhikis character in an interesting way and has a really interesting theme of how some individuals are forced into roles they didn't want to by circumstance. I think it fills in gaps from the lore nicely (especially the ending). And not only does the story use Mimic (a Dark Hunter I desperately wish was used in canon) it characterizes and uses him rather well. Him acting as a pararell/comparasion to Nidhiki is a solid way to showcase the storys central theme. All in all, it's a solid story in vacuum. Even as part of the larger Bionicle mythos I do like some elements of it and have adopted them into my headcanonverse.
That being said, I have one major issue with the story specifically regarding how it relates to the greater Bionicle canon. And that is, giving Nidhiki a "my original teammates were killed by Dark Hunters and now I desire revenge" type of backstory doesn't work for his character and arguably makes him less interesting.
First off, I understand why the writer chose to do this decision, to paint Nidhiki in a more sympathetic light. In canon, Nidhiki isn't really a sympathetic character (or at the very least wasn't intended to be one, ymmv whether or not he can be seen as one). He is selfish and his reason for betraying toa Mangai boils down to desire for glory and self-preservation. So wanting to give Nidhiki a more sympathetic backstory in order for the reader to understand why he is like that and thus sympathizing with him makes sense especially given how Bionicle doesn’t really have that many sympathetic villains to begin with and Nidhiki is one of the few who could easily be written in a more sympathetic light without making his character worse thanks to his backstory being rather tragic and there being a few hints of him being a more sympathetic character than the canon presents.
Thing is, by giving Nidhiki a desire of wanting revenge against Dark Hunters, I feel the writer misses a major part of Nidhikis character, one that could be easily expanded on to make him a more sympathetic and understandable character: his pragmatic opportunism born out of survival instinct.
Nidhiki is largely driven by pragmatism and self-preservation, by making actions that benefit him. This sense of pragmatism most likely comes from him coming from Tren Krom Peninsula: a harsh climate where you had to be pragmatic in order to survive. Pretty much everything from his characterization boils down to this survival instinct, this desire to survive taught by harsh living conditions. This is the core of his characterization and something worth keeping in mind both when trying to understand him and writing him. And while the writer of Memory does understand this to some extent, I feel they only saw it as part of his character rather than the main core of his characterization and driving force of his actions.
While Nidhiki loosing his teammates does add more fuel into him not trusting anyone and developing this pragmatic mindset (something Memory does pretty good job showcasing), I also feel that it's kinda unnecessary. It feels as if it exists as this big push, this big traumatic event that shaped Nidhiki's mindset into this pragmatic self-survival we see in canon and I just...don't feel that suits him. It makes more sense if rather than one big traumatic event that made him what he was it was a series of smaller events, it was him living in a place with a certain mental climate that forced a certain mindset just so he could survive.
The backstory also feels that like it exists largely to give Nidhiki a history with and grudge against the Dark Hunters which just...doesn't make sense at all when you give more context into canon. Like, if Nidhiki had a grudge against them I doubt he would've interacted with Lariska the way he did in BOADH let alone agreed to betray his team, no matter how good opportunity it felt like. Well at least it gives him one more reason to despise TSO and his organization and that’s always a plus if you ask me.
However, the main reason I don't really like this is because it feels kinda cliche and makes Nidhiki less interesting than he could be. Like, it feels that the easiest way to make your audience to sympathize with a villain is to give them a tragic backstory of them loosing a loved one that made them bitter and cynical. It just feels like a cop-out, an easy shorthand. It feels such "been there done that" and does more harm than good for Nidhikis characterization, feels like its there to make him more sympathetic through tried and true means than actually trying to understand him and what makes him tick, and building up a more sympathetic portrayal from there.
What makes this all worse is that I do think you could make Nidhiki a more sympathetic character without resorting to cliche tools like that. And thats by focusing on expanding on whats already there: his desire for survival and self-preservation. While it does make him rather selfish, its also what makes him understandable and (for lack of better term) real. While we want to talk about how self-righteous and good we are, truth is that desire for self-preservation and survival is a driving force that can override (or at the very least heavily affect) our moral compass, especially if you come from a traumatic upbringing. And like I said, the harsh survival of the fittest nature of T.K Peninsula certainly was that kind of place where Nidhiki was essentially forced to adapt a certain mindset. It’d be cool to see him slowly develop this mindset from the environment he grew up in, to have whatever potential goodness and optism he once had be eroded through him having to come in terms with the messed up nature of the world. it would’ve made him much more interesting, sympathetic and tragic character than he is in canon, all while feeling unique
That being said, I understand why the writer did the way they did. Like I said, Nidhiki isn’t exactly the most sympathetic character in canon, and wanting to give him a backstory that’s easy to sympathize with is an easy and good way to do that. It’s also worth pointing out that Memory was an oneshot, so the writer didn’t have time to go through everything Nidhiki went through before becoming part of Toa Mangai and as such, it’s easy to understand why the writer choose to give one big event that changed his mindset. I also dont think giving Nidhiki revenge motive is inherently bad (I mean its basically canon he wanted revenge against Lhikan), nor is making him more emotional and not just a pragmatic opportunist (if anything making him emotional is more than welcome in this house). But I feel that Memory just kinda, changes his character in such a drastic way that didn't sit with me, at least not completely. It kinda makes him an archetypical "I'm aloof and refuse to work with others because I lost my friends against these villains" type of character. Not only is that rather cliche that's also not what Nidhiki is like...He's more interesting as an opportunist who became such due to the harsh nature of Tren Krom Peninsula rather than your archetypical edgy shonen anime rival whos aloof because tragic backstory murder.
So yeah, Memory is a good story but I’m happy it isn’t canon because while it was an interesting take of my favorite Bionicle character, it being canon would’ve done more harm than good for his characterization as whole I feel. Also you can make a character sympathetic without having to resort to “they saw someone close to them die and desire revenge because of that”, especially when it doesn’t fit to that characters characterization as whole.

What’s your opinion on Kerry being available to only male V when it’s mentioned in-game that he’s bi (correct me if I’m wrong, I have terrible memory)?? I feel like they should’ve had bi romance options if they were able to implement both gay and straight ones.
Oh anon, oooooh anon. I love you dearly, but you intentionally or not might as well have thrown lit dynamite in my ask box. This discourse has been such a strange beast within this fandom and I have definitely shared some vague thoughts about it before. I’m putting everything under a read more, to help stave off some....harassment or putting it in people’s lives who may not want it.
I still remember I was frankly heartbroken and upset when I first learned Kery wasn’t romanceable by female V when the game first officially came out, but before I played it; River and Panam weren’t even really known about, cause they weren’t talked about much in the promo material, plus Kerry was shown in romance scenes with what looked to be female V. So, if you go back far enough you’ll find me in December cope posting and being the saddest and angriest of beans, because other than Johnny who I knew was likely off the table. He was one of the only characters I wanted to potentially romance. Now, I’m further away from it, have processed my feelings regarding it and am more rational I believe regarding the issue.
But, that being said, a large issue of this sort of discourse is that; no matter what anyone says, someone somwhere is upset. I’ve been insulted, blocked, accused of fetishizing gay men, and so much over my opinion regarding this matter. I’m still currently debating if I even wanna tag this, cause the issue almost always brings negativity to my blog and to me. I have very little interest in being berated for this, so we’ll see how I feel after I finish typing this all out. I’m going to try to go through all my issues, my points, my troubles and feelings about the matter. But, at the end of the day, it is merely my opinion. If someone disagrees, fine, just don’t attack people or berate them over pixels in a video game. Just dont. That’s all I ask. Okay, so I’m gonna divide this into talking points and whatever, now.
Firstly, Kerry is bisexual. Point blank, period. I’ve seen folks try to argue that his wife was like comphet, which if you dont know means that sometimes exclusively homosexual people will try to force themselves into heterosexual relationships because society has conditioned them to believe they have to be straight. While, I’m not negating the fact that this happens, as a bisexual/pansexual (I use the terms interchangeably to define my experience and feelings) person I’ve struggled with it when making sense of my attraction to women. It genuinely is something that happens. This is not the case for Kerry; he doesn’t ever hide his attraction to men, between TTRPG lore and the video game he has had two wives , and he is stated by game developers and TTRPG creator to be bisexual. He is bisexual. Getting that out there, saying other wise, in my opinion is a level of bi erasure. That being said, I do still have my grievances with how the game chose to handle his bisexuality and bisexuality as whole, also imo, the game generally doesn’t seem...to treat players who are attracted to men well…
But before I get into that, I wanna make clear, I feel like Cyberpunk 2077 should have had more romance options for every orientation. If you’re not going to create a player-sexual style of romance; ie where every romanceable character is attracted to the player regardless and wish to focus on each character having their own predetermined sexuality; only have one character for each sexuality is kind of bullshit. If you’re a lesbian player and you’re not into Judy, you get nothing, except a fuck around with Meredith (who I will get to later). You’re a straight woman, but not into River, shit out of luck. You’re a gay man who’s not into Kerry, sucks to suck bud. You’re a straight man who’s not into Panam (kind dont get how you wouldn’t be but who am i to judge), well, you can fuck Meredith… so woooo. Oh also, if you’re not attracted to women, you will still be forced to watch in first person pov a sex scene with Alt and if you want Johnny to like you, you gotta date a girl. Also, all the male love interests will be sidelined mostly…. Hooray… But I digress, either go in with all romance options bi/pan/player sexual, or give more options for romance. Cause now you have the issue of people not getting the partner they hoped for and not liking their only option. Now, you got people trying to make the Judy bi, which is lesbian erasure and lesbophobic, along with people saying Kerry isn’t bi and can’t be with women which is bi erasure and biphobic. Whereas, if you had just gone in from the get go with either more options or a player-sexual romance system; we wouldn’t be here, CDPR.
Okay, so next thing, now that I’ve addressed my issues with the entire romance system and that yes, Kerry is bi. Should Kerry have been able to be romanced as female V? Yes and no. Which sounds vague, but I’m going somewhere. With the current set up of it; Kerry being romanceable to a female V would have unfairly given female players an additional love interest over male players. Female V would have the option of Judy, River, or Kerry. And Male V’s would have the option of Kerry or Panam. That’s not fair. I get that, inherently. CDPR painted themselves into a corner, by only letting there be two romances for “each” gender, one for “each” sexuality, and then using a canonically bi character for one of them. They played themselves, they were either gonna have to give an unfair amount of love interest to one side of their gender system or make a bi character who will only pursue one gender. So, they went for the latter.
Now, some people feel thats fine, because Kerry having a gender preference is fine and its okay for bi people to lean a certain way in regards to gender and its okay for them to not be attracted to people. And that is true. I am a bisexual woman who leans a little more towards men, I get that. However, I have only been given one reason for Kerry’s preference for male V over female V. And it was by a developer of the game who stated that Kerry pursues Male V and not Female V because Male V reminds him more of Johnny… And I hate that. I personally, hate it so deeply, because to me it does a complete disservice to Kerry and V’s relationship and Kerry’s arc. Because even with female V you see him being preoccupied with Johnny and V’s connection to Johnny, then you see him move past that. So, to then state, its still a deciding factor in him romancing V is so wrong to me. Like why???? Why would you do that to people who like Kerry??? Why would you put that in their heads, that Kerry on some level, subconsciously or not, was thinking about Johnny when he decides to romance V. Cause that’s not in the game, in the game you get the vibe he’s moving on past Johnny, like he’s growing, developing, genuinely likes V. But that stupid tweet, just radiates rancid vibes, whyyy???
And then, outside of that nasty tweet, I have to ask what other reason is there for why he prefers male V over fem V. They’re...the same characters essentially, just with different pronouns and body type. They also can look like whatever you want; they’re completely customizable. So, Its based off of what the game associates with gender characteristics and nothing else, meaning, his attraction is rooted solely in their gender and he turns down fem V by virtue of them being a woman and nothing else. Which, yeah, bisexual/pansexual people have preferences but when that preference completely excludes a gender based on nothing but gender…. Uhh????? See my issue????
And I’ve seen people saying, well, its better than CDPR playing into slutty will date anybody bisexual stereotypes. But, the thing is...THEY STILL DO THAT which is what drives me up the god damn wall; they managed to do slutty bi stereotypes and I don’t even get kiss the boy, which again, I get the need for fairness but wow, just wow. And lemme explain.
Meredith is the only character, other than joytoys, whom you can have sex with regardless of gender, body type, etc. She is the only character who shows that she is attracted to V on some level regardless of gender.
She is a one night stand. Her sex animations are the same as joytoys. She treated like a promiscuous love phobic woman. And having characters like that is fine, my own V is promiscuous and love phobic. But, we can acknowledge that in a video game by a AAA game company having the only character who is at least physically attracted to the player no matter what, be nothing but sex fodder...isn’t great bi representation, right?
Oh, and Kerry himself still is a promiscuous bisexual man, he just won’t romance female V because apparently, according to a dev, they don’t remind him of Johnny enough. AND THATS THE DEVS WORDS, NOT MINE, I HATE THAT. Like, Kerry is shown to have people’s lingerie around his house. He’s stated by Johnny to be someone who fucks around. He gets a blowjob from a man in a stairwell.
The two most blatantly canonically bi character in this game are promiscuous; one wont romance V at all and just wants sex, the other will only romance a male V because at worse, he’s comparing them mentally subconsciously to his dead friend and at best….because….reasons…. Literally, from what I understand for Kerry to romance V, they have to have the “male” body type and “male” voice. Meaning, fem V could literally by all appearances look like masc V, body type wise, but because she uses female pronouns and has a feminine sounding voice...no… the stars say no…
In my honest opinion, it is bad bisexual representation and a not so well thought out romance system for a game.
But, that being said, I literally never romance anyone, because I’m a Johnny simp. So, the fuck do I know.
oh god do i tag this.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
#anon#asks#i can't put these in the main tags or kerry's i cant#im so weary of this#im sorry anon#im a pussy who's grown so weary of discourse#Anonymous

My Poor Thoughts on The 3H Lords:
in no particular order
Byleth: the best functional avatar of the series, if the least interesting as a character in many regards. which is a bit unfair because they do have a personality and sense of growth as an individual, it just so happens that the personality and growth is tied into being emotionless. Regardless they remain my favorite of the avatars since they do what avatars are suppose to, provide a vessel for the player to interact with the world of the game and story from something of an outsiders perspective well providing a feeling of pride and accomplishment. That way if you need to explain something to the player, you can do so without it being to weird because you arent talking to a character but rather to the player directly. That said character wise, they rank near the middle being below kris and corrin and above mark and robin, for me personally anyways. their arguably speaking cannon personality works just fine for me as does their character history, but their responses and especially some of their alternate gag ones are bizarre and stupid in a bad way and there is little in the way of actual consequences for your decisions aside from making characters occasionally upset and choosing a route on the BE path. If avatars are just going to be a thing from now on, this is closer to how i feel they should be done but it would also be a good idea to cut out the wank and make decisions actually matter more rather then pander to lame dating sim mechanics.
Dimitri: best written of the bunch undeniably, his character never reaches incredibly lofty heights in terms of quality but he clearly had the most thought and planning put into who he is and where hes going as a character. plus hes fairly unique as a protagonist in the fe series as a whole, and is arguably even something of a deconstruction of the average fe lord of both the soft marth and loud alm variety. Hes not my fave of the series, but he gets to be high up there.
Edelgard: intentionally contentious or not, taking a step back from her fuckability/waifu qualities which the game wants you to pay more attention to then anything else arguably her characters something of a dropped ball. Cobbling together elements of arvises backstory and emperor hardins visual motifs, she has a strong foundation in there as both a well written female character and villain protagonist but then presumably someone became scared and decided she needed to be more sympathetic less anyone not want to fuck her and thus drive down sales. either that or it was a failed and mishandled attempt at making things more morally grey. regardless what should have been a tragic figure whos past trauma causes them to develop into an aggressive authoritarian with an ends justify the means mentality that pushes them over the line multiple times and whos attempts at gaming the system ultimately backfire due to who they ally with leaving their dreams of peace shattered by their arrogance thus teaching the valuable lesson that the ends dont always justify the means and be careful who you make bedfellows with in pursuit of power, is instead a figure who stupidly allied with the people most directly responsible for their suffering went and attacked someone else for incredibly shaky reasons and sat on in silence well their tormentors did horrific acts with only a shaked fist and stern warning in response well doing their own morally dubious acts on the side and who managed to get away with it all because she pouted a bit. and as a villain on the other routes i dont find her particularly engaging either. which is a shame because she does rock a sweet emperor hardin cosplay.
Claude: third wheel, but not an awful one. he basically does the standard fe routine really with a bit more playful sass then normal. not the best of the lot in that regard in my opinion, sure hes more tactics then some of the others but he also feels fairly static and ill defined at times, and he feels like hes only there out of contractual obligation to have three lords instead of two. he has a story, but its not particularly his story outside of a few beats and is more so the settings story then anything else. remove him and spread the important lore bits to the other routes and you wouldnt be missing much. Hes fun but hes less complicated then he pretends to be and thats what i resent about him if anything. Basically, i feel he needs a better narrative to his name then what he ended up getting.

I think ill rely on what is in the games, and what is indicated by the writing itself because it is readily available all the time. I like the idea he is 50 because it adds to the thematic value of his story and personality.
I will accept Mordin as being 50 in humans years because that is also the most obvious conclusion to make for me on the information in the games and the tie in website material.
There is an inherent inconsistency in all the information we get I want to point out.
If we go by the FANDOM website wiki he could be 35 or even 40 but this information is not cross verified in the games codex as Solus does get his own fully narrated entry but with no Birth-date specified in comparison to the wikipage that slightly paraphrases. This wiki determined age still puts him dangerously close to, or on the dot to the expected expiration date of the average salarian by 5 or 0 years which is not a long time at all. Therefor not undermining my conclusion on the fact his body is still in decay and that he will struggle to maintain himself in a relationship as a result, this decay he mentions in ME3 constantly too.
Forms of cross verification can be stuff from books etc.
Post developer comments buried in tweets, said off the cuff at conventions, comments and forum discussion that may only be exclusively on the internet, not widely seen by the public or the average player is sketchy at best open to interpretation by everyone. And who’s saying it matters, lead writers?, lead designers?, Art directors? This matters a lot as conclusions as a result of this vary.
The website is an official source of info related to the game itself, it was set up by Bioware and so on and was probably carefully vetted to effectively promote the games to people. It is accessible and can be seen by all and in conjunction with the in game Codex can be verified, there is no additional information next to Mordin’s age that says Salarian and human years operate differently in this specific regard so at face value most people can only conclude that Mordin is 50 in human years but to those who listened to a developers random comment that may be different. If you are going to say that people who run the official website who themselves are affiliated with EA and work at Bioware should have their own website found suspect in comparison to some other random developer or developers comments... that is a bit contradictory aswell.
Link to your sources. Who is saying what and in what context.
I talked to artists and have met people who know Bioware employees, for example when they talk about characters etc they may only care about the design and artistry and have no interest in the lore consistency, but will have their own differing opinions on how everything works in their head canon. Yes the developers are themselves fans sometimes, since these people are not in charge of all departments they dont have the full picture.
Nyreen and turian female anatomy was created by an outsourced 3D artist as an example and may have lacked oversight, chosen because the design simply looked cool and was not consistent with biology lore. MASS EFFECT was never planned for example as a trilogy, but Casey Hudson the project director stated otherwise to drive up buzz for the games. In that scenario should we trust Hudson’s word? This is what I say when context matters. He may be the director but he can still be wrong or right depending on personal interpretation.
Regardless If Mordin is 30 or even younger, then have at it! That is up to you based on what information you decide is true or not. Its why we have canon and head canon but they could just go hand in hand anyway.
When ever I talk about Mordin I refer to Patrick Weekes as he was in charge of the writing for that character. But he may not be an authority on salarian biology depending on what he has written for the games specifically. Even this strict adherence to a writers word does not stop me from having my head canon for a romance which is explicitly rejected by the character in game with no wiggle room.
We dont get the option afterall.

Concerns regarding the "in the works" Doom film
Alright so lets get something straight. I am a massive Doom fan. And I mean MASSIVE. I may not have been around in the glory days of the 90s but I had played all the games and been with the community for a while now and its my favorite game franchise of all time. This will not be a complete circle jerk commentary but even if love and defend Doom forever and ever I can agree with most of you that the 2005 Doom film was absolute garbage. There's no avoiding that. Game based movies dont do too well most of the time that much is true.
When I had gotten word that another Doom film is being made by Universal I was both fanatic and worried. From the recent news I have gathered together which is vague since the film is just being announced there will be a main female actor who had appeared in some shows and has done music if im correct. The director who was choosen had worked on some pretty disliked movies in the past which what worried me for the most part. But what makes me finalize that Universal is treating this like a simple cash grab for Doom 2016's success and Doom Eternal's arrival is the fact that THEY WONT EVEN RELEASE IT IN THEATERS. Now mind you this is speculation but from what I gathered it will most likely be a staright to DVD or staright to streaming service film which just sucks and kinda feeds the point on how little that Universal is treating this film.
It's really sad for someone like me who loves the game's and wants to see every iteration of media on it to succeed with flying colors. But with all this info it just doesnt seem that way. I hope that they prove me wrong and this will be a decent film that pays attention to the game's central focus and lore.
I know not many people care about the lore of Doom and its great that the gameplay was first over the story in the reboot but if Doom will be produced into a film then lore is pretty vital for substance. Not much but enough to push it out there. I had watched a video talking about how a Doom movie can be executed and for the most part I agreee on it. A Mad Max Fury Road type ordeal with a silent or barely talkative protagonist who's actions display his character who is by himself in a cursed place filled with utter evil and he is built for only one purpose. No words. Kill demons. Thats it. It makes me wonder who they would cast as the Doom marine or Doom Slayer for that matter. And what the demons and whole aesthetic would look like if they would base it all off the 2016 reboot as if a spin off or do a whole new style but from the photos posted by the team of the set designs it looks very Alien Covenant to me which isnt a bad thing mind you but I would defiantly like to see what they can do to convey the UAC and the lands of Hell.
This is just bantering at this point but im really hoping this isnt a total failure. And maybe Universal will change their damn mind and choose to release it in theaters because something like this needs to be put to public audiences so more people can get into this franchise and see. But thats enough from me what do you guys think. I really wanna hear your opinions on this.

hey! sorry to bother you, but I dont know about the whole gremlin dva thing? what is it?
Oh wow but I wish you’d asked this off-anon, racist overwatch fans are really sensitive about this subject and like to throw little tantrums whenever anyone says anything against it! I’m gonna start from the very beginning in case anyone doesn’t know the basics of the situation
Okay, so this is D.Va:
D.Va, AKA Hana Song is a nineteen-year-old professional Starcraft player from Korea. There isn’t a perfect analogy, but in Korea, Pro Gamers aren’t viewed the way western gamers are, they’re held in a closer regard to professional athletes, or even rock stars. D.Va’s name is indicative of her personality: She’s a celebrity diva. She’s confident to a fault, she’s courageous and a bit cocky, she’s charming and she knows how to work an audience. Her fame as a pro Starcraft player has led to a career as an actress, which brought her fame worldwide.
At age 16, through a “last starfighter/pacific rim” type situation, the Korean Government decided to address the problem of “giant robot keeps attacking Korea and traditional military tactics and regular soldiers are useless against it” by recruiting pro gamers (with their fast reflexes and unconventional tactical know-how) to pilot mechs to keep the giant robot at bay. D.Va was the best Starcraft player in the world (except her dad, the one person in the world she still can’t beat), and amazingly, she was also the best at fighting this giant robot. Because her gaming ability is what makes her so good at fighting this particular giant robot, she approaches her job the same way she approaches video games: by perpetually chasing the horizon of perfection and trying to improve her skills.
In-universe, she streams her missions worldwide on Twitch, and her fan following as a Superhero is as big as her following as a Pro Gamer or a Movie Star. Because she streams her missions, she’s often heard using gamer-speak in-combat because she’s addressing her audience directly. Outside of combat, many other heroes (like Lucio and Reinhardt) are huge fans of hers and look up to her, she’s a fan of reading scientific journals and is a bit starstruck to meet her favorite scientist (Mei) and she’s deeply hurt by the destruction she saw in her home country. She’s also sensitive about being called a child, because she’s now 19 (an adult) and a decorated soldier and deserves a certain level of respect.
This is Gremlin D.Va:
Gremlin D.Va is a fandom-created meme based on approximately nothing from the actual game or lore except the word “gamer” in her description. Gremlin D.Va is a caricature of western white male gamers (interesting given that D.Va is a Korean woman who acts approximately nothing like western white male gamers).
Gremlin D.Va is approximately four years old (or less!! A lot of the fanart includes her wearing diapers, sitting in strollers, sucking on a pacifier, the line is between “gremlin D.Va” and “baby D.Va” is blurry enough to be practically nonexistent). Gremlin D.Va is obsessed with doritos and mountain dew (she has her own brand of chips and sponsors a cola brand in-game, but we’ve established that the people making this meme don’t really care about what is or isn’t part of the game). She is supposed to be dirty and disgusting, she speaks in broken english even though Canon D.Va is fluent (they chalk this up to be “she’s like a baby!” but infantilization isn’t much better), she is mischievous and sneaky, she is presented as a childlike, and, well, pretty much aligns with every harmful stereotype of East Asians except the hypersexualization (which they claim makes it progressive). Also, as noted in the above picture, part of the meme is that she’s been adopted by two of the white characters, Soldier: 76 and Mercy, neither of whom she’s confirmed to have ever even met. She’s usually presented in the comics as a burden to that white man, which, yikes.
Essentially, Gremlin D.Va is a list of harmful and baseless stereotypes and tropes about Asians and Asian-Americans like “sneaky” and “childlike” and “perverse,” and defenders of the meme like to pretend it’s okay to project lots of anti-Asian racist stereotypes onto an Asian character as long as they’re not doing so because she’s Asian, but, the fact is, it honestly doesn’t matter whether or not they mean to be racist, but it’s somewhat hard to believe it has nothing to do with the character being East Asian: It would be very different if she were a white character being treated the same way, since there’s really no cultural baggage that presents white people as subhuman (you’re literally calling her a “gremlin”) and childlike (don’t try to dispute this, half those comics put her in a damn diaper), but for SOME REASON the white characters in the game are never presented that way!
The one exception to that is in the Halloween sprays where D.Va is very much presented as a child, and defenders like to claim this makes Gremlin D.Va “canon,” although this doesn’t really hold any water, since the sprays seem to show children dressed as the heroes trick-or-treating, and almost all the heroes are given a trick-or-treater spray. Here’s just a handful, for instance:
Now, I’ve gotten yelled at a lot for calling the meme racist, and 99 times out of 100 it is, but the fact remains, even if it was totally not racist: it’s just plain not funny! It’s boring and unimaginative and doesn’t make sense! People always try to act like “it’s just a video game, it’s fictional, let us have our jokes,” and I wholeheartedly agree, except that I expect jokes to be even mildly funny.
People also come back with “but it’s Chibi! Haven’t you ever heard of Chibi!” which, of course I have!! In fact, like all the Overwatch heroes, there’s a Chibi version of her available in the game! It doesn’t look like a screaming dorito-encrusted toddler in the care of a cheap knockoff Clint Eastwood, though, it looks like a chibi version of the character:
There she is standing next to her mech! She’s got a look and pose indicative of her trademark cocksure attitude, she’s clearly an adult and not a child, she’s not sexualized in this image without being desexualized through infantilization, and it looks like her, but in that style!!
Now, the thing is, I know it’s futile to ask racists to stop being racist, especially when they don’t agree they are being racist. They think they’re being funny, and they try to dismiss any criticisms with “it’s not that serious,” but the thing is, if it wasn’t that serious to them, why do they throw a little tantrum whenever anyone voices discomfort with it? And I mean every single time, they whine and complain and act smugly superior because they haven’t been “offended,” but the fact is that most normal fans of the game are content to roll their eyes and scroll past their unfunny meme, and they’re the ones who get all worked up whenever they find out people don’t think it’s funny.
Which is the most important facet of Gremlin D.Va: it’s not funny! It’s boring! It feels like the kind of thing Seth Green would write in a mediocre Robot Chicken sketch that he didn’t put all that much effort into. Even if it wasn’t racist, it just doesn’t make sense that people keep pushing this unfunny joke despite the fact that the response is more groans than laughs! In fact, most people I know mock and ridicule the people who are boring enough to find it funny!
So, that’s basically it in a nutshell.

what happened with overwatch? What's your damage? I mean that in a good way... like i mean what happened to make you so annoyed im curious nothing harm meant by asking but dont answer if you dont want to
You want the honest to god truth about my opinion on Overwatch? Here we go.
Under cut.
First of all I don’t think I’ve ever gotten so angry with a game to the point of tears except for TF2 BUT ONLY BECAUSE A BUNCH OF FRIENDS WERE GANGING UP ON ME, other than that I just get annoyed sometimes at most but Overwatch has made me so fucking angry to the point I’m literally trying not to cry I’m that angry. I just want to beat the shit out of everything.
Now let me get something straight, I like and will still continue to like the concept of Overwatch. The comics, the characters, the lore, I’ll still be into that cause it’s cool, just like there’s many people in the TF2 fandom who do not play the game but probably know more about the game than I myself do.
I however am completely done with the game and its the first time I can honestly say I find something cancerous.
Where do I begin?
Well it shows that this is clearly the first time Blizzard made a fucking FPS because it’s so goddamn broken. The game mechanics are broken, the characters game play themselves are broken. Like for example, Blizzard has this favor the shooter bullshit, right? So how this shit works is that if someone is lagging slightly, they see you in front of a wall, okay? Imagine this, you are actually behind the wall, but on their screen because they are lagging, you are not behind the wall. Because of how favor the shooter works they shoot you and the game registers it and suddenly you’re dead because they basically shot through a wall due to this. I have had multiple times where I know very well I am behind the goddamn wall but when I watch the feedback replay, It shows me not behind the wall. This also means it places you in areas you were not standing. I should mention I have a high connection speed which results in very low ping so it is not me lagging, which confirms that favor the shooter is bullshit, because again if someone is lagging they actually have the advantage over someone who has a lower ping.
Blizzard should of done like everyone else and had the server decided if someone is hit or not not the user’s game clients telling the server they hit. Also I’ve never actually seen favor the shooter work in my favor, presumably because I have high ping and can actually see people lag and rubber band, and actually register correctly if they are behind a wall or something.
Next? Community. I gotta be honest I think the community is actually more Toxic than the TF2, the only place I’ve actually met toxic people is on community servers but for official servers I don’t really run into that many. You find salty, mean and rude people all the time on Overwatch and that is to be expected because these are more than likely the same people who either play COD or any of Blizzard’s other games and Blizzard in general is known for having really bad fanboys and the like.
It’s not just that though, look at the fucking discourse that happens in terms of fandom over Overwatch. It makes me so mad. We’ve had issue in TF2 sure, but not to this extent. People fucking complaining and jumping the gun because there was a bug in Mei’s new skin that caused her to look a bit skinnier than normal, people getting upset that Mei isn’t larger. People are always trying to be fucking problematic with this game, claiming stuff like I’ve seen one post where someone claimed the whole CNY event was racist basically claiming white people can’t take part in Chinese culture, not to mention people saying blizzard is racist in not having enough representation in general, saying they are sexist etc. Blizzard is not sexist or Racist, I’ll give them that. I mean I’m still kinda questioning shit like the Indian head dresses for Heavy and Soldier, but like Blizzard hasn’t really done anything that is noticible in that regard, but people bitch anyway. I’m sick of their bitching tbh and the stupidity, I just can’t take it.
I also have issues with the characters themselves in terms of their game play. This is just a select few I’m going to go into detail with but there’s issues with all the characters.
Hanzo - His hit boxes are literally the size of a truck. I’ve seen him hit my foot and get a head shot, I’ve done it myself. He’s a sniper you’re suppose to aim for the head. Couple this with favor the shooter and we have a complete fucking mess because they can miss your head by a mile but again hit boxes the size of a truck and the player as Hanzo gets a head shot.
Mei - Probably the worst fucking mechanic I’ve seen in a high speed action filled FPS. This character has an attack that freezes you solid, slowing you down first, and prevents you from moving. On top of this the girl can shoot an ice spike directly into your head up close and you can’t do anything but sit there and watch it happen, oh but it gets better, Mei can also drain your health while she is freezing you. You’re down half health on most heroes by the time you’re frozen, and she gets a FREE head shot which is a crit and will be an instant kill on most heroes. There is an in game tip to fight Mei from long range and that tip pisses me the fuck off every time I see it because yes, her freezing is short range, but, MEI CAN SNIPE. SHE IS NOT A SNIPER, SHE’S A DEFENSE, SHES ALMOST A TANK. I’ve seen people play Mei and headshot me across the map, what was that about fighting long range?
Symmetra - Yes she needed a buff but not in the way Blizzard did it. This girl has a useless secondary attack that goes too fucking slow to do anything but play fucking pong between two Genjis in a custom game, and her primary has such an insane damage output she can out damage a Mercy’s healing. Picture this, I was playing as D.va. D.va has 600 hp, a Mercy was healing me. Without any extra turrets or anything Symmetra locked on to me (did I mention her attack cant just lock onto you and has a fucking 7 meter range?) and out damaged Mercy’s healing and killed the both of us because once she was done with my mech she had a damage ampt up. Yep that’s right the more she attacks the higher her damage. D.va has 150 hp without her mech. Symm just came and tapped me after dealing with my mec and instantly killed me and my Mercy. It was no time frame in between.Literally one single touch and we were both dead. How is that balanced?
I’d also like to point out how bullshit Overwatch is with nerfing characters. The characters I mentioned above need to be tweaked because yes what I described was bullshit, and y’know what? There’s a character in this game named Mccree, Jessie Mccree. Okay so this cowboy, maybe some of you know him, Blizzard decided “huh, Mccree is doing an awful lot of damage, maybe we should nerf that. He’s also sniping and has too long of a range so let’s give him a damage fall off because he’s not a sniper.” Alright fair enough, BUT WHAT ABOUT MEI AND SYMM? THEY CAN DO ALL THAT YOU JUST NERFED MCCREE FOR. Like seriously.
Also Blizzard has these things called Lootboxes, they are like the cosmetic crates in TF2 but you earn them with levels and they are free to open, no keys or anything like TF2, but there’s a catch.
They are free because there’s shit all in them and it’s impossible to get good shit out of them unless you grind your fucking life away. I have opened 20 fucking Lootboxes in the span of last night and today, and I have yet to get anything good for the current CNY event, aside from sprays and voice lines. No sign of a skin or an emote and I’m not even getting any of the basic shit from the regular lootbox sets. You’d think you’d only get the CNY stuff in the CNY lootboxes but no, you get regular shit and if you’re lucky CNY loot boxes. At least with TF2 if you open the right case, you’re garenteed something cosmetic for your money, in Overwatch you are not and voice lines and sprays are kinda fucking shit.
And on top of this lootbox shit, if you want 3 free lootboxes every 5 days you have to play some sort of game from the Arcade Mode, not the Quick Play. Here’s the thing though... All the Arcade modes suck, its almost impossible to find a good team to win because people fuck around in Overwatch when it comes to actually trying and winning worst than they do in TF2, and in order to get these 3 lootboxes you don’t need to just play 9 arcade games, no, you need to fucking WIN 9 arcade games and every 3 wins you get a fucking box. And let me tell you with the mentality of the players, it’s almost fucking impossible to win. I’ve been 2 goddamn days trying to win 9 fucking Arcade games and I’m 1 win away from my next lootbox and thats when I realized I’m giving the fuck up on this game cause fuck this bullshit.
And again the toxic people come in. “Play quick play.” They say but here’s the thing I FUCKING WOULD PLAY QUICK PLAY IF QUICK PLAY GAVE YOU 3 FUCKING LOOTBOXES EVERY 9 WINS. I’m only playing Arcade to get the lootboxes because I refuse to fucking spend money on these things cause buying them does not increase the chances of getting anything good out of them. It’s a waste of fucking money. Like there’s no reason why Blizzard can’t either put in a 3 lootbox thing in quick play or make it so you just have to play 9 games and not matter if you win or loose the games.
and I’m telling you. Unless you get a group of 6 players, which I do not have most times because I don’t have that many friends, you will not win a single fucking game only by chance if you are playing solo because people fuck around like you wouldn’t believe.
“We need a tank? goes genji.” Like it’s literally worse and more cancerous than tf2 because tf2 you can work indipendant of your team and still win, but since Overwatch is a team game, when people refuse to work as a team, as most people tend to do, it’s fucking horrible. You will not win.
Also people don’t know how to take out fucking sentries like, it’s worse than tf2 cause in tf2 people know how to deal with them. The minute the enemy puts down a sentry or turret the game is lost, I mean I know how to take them out but I try and take them out but then no one goes for the point and its just a waste of my time and we loose because players are idiots. I cannot handle the level of idiots that is in Overwatch and you can’t just keep trying until you win because there’s strict time limits on everything in Overwatch even capture the flag. At least in TF2 if nothing is working you can still defend until everyone gets bored and just rack up kills.
This game just makes me so fucking angry like you wouldn’t believe, and after today and what bullshit I had to deal with today I can finally say that I am fucking done with the game. I still like the fandom related content like art and stuff, and the characters, I mean I hated on Symm and Meis gameplay the most but I like both of them as characters, but I will probably never play this game again except once in a blue moon because there’s too much bullshit to deal with.
With that said, I have business to attend to in Tuefort.
