before I made my vigilante oc and his world I thought of au idea where a new group of villains replaces the league sfter the kamino incident and each have a gripe with an asect of hero society they want to fix. I'll list them out and see what you think because I may revisit it.
Hachurui waniguchi/herpeton(think of this as the prototype of him) his quirk is herptile: he looks like and can do anything a reptike or amphibian can, and he was outcast as an omen of evil for his reptilian appearance, he believes hero society pits too much emphasis on attractiveness, and dilsikes conventiobally attractive heroes like mt lady and mirko
Sai kabutomushi/heracles: his quirk is carapace and he was an expelled student of eraserhead who believes heroes are sheltered from the consequences of their actions.
Arihachi suzume/vesper: his quirk is aprocrita. He was fired from his job as a construction worker for using his quirk on the job. He believes society to be too focused on heroes, and that quirks should be incorporated into other jobs as well.
hime takai/pyrokindle: her quirk is fire manipulation. She has a grudge against the sexism in hero society, which came to a head when endeavor crushed her dreams for her gender, and inability to make fire, only manipulate it.
Kabe furawa/nialliv: her quirk is reflective portal. She is a mousy wallflower who can't atand showboating gloryhogs like captain celebrity and mt lady.
Tsujo futsu/monotone: he is quirkless and relies on martial arts and weapons in combat. He holds distain for hero society's treatment of the quirkless.
So what do you think, any thoughtz?
Hi @suchusoid 👋
Honestly, from what you told me, this is such a good idea! Having another group replace the league, all of them representing different parts of society and the societal issues that they faced, that they would like to change is amazing compared to the less developed LOV in this case.
Personally, it would be interesting to see how they all work together as a group, especially with all of their different goals. I see that they will probably learn about other societal issues from the characters that experienced them and will probably help them out unifying them and making them a stronger team who at the end of the day seem to all want justice and equality.
Aside from this, I love how you made every character stand for something and how they seem to all be unique in their own regards. To me, this is what the league should have been, characters who are complex and represent a different part of society that is incredibly flawed. It's a shame that the league in Canon doesn't have much representing material that genuinely expands on the mha worldbuilding and the falls of mha society where they challenge them and help challenge the ideals of young heroes.
Since you mentioned that this group of vigilantes will be overtaking the LOV, I think it would be interesting to have some LOV members like spinner interact with waniguchi. Both of them have faced mutation discrimination due to their quirks, and honestly, it would be interesting to see what makes wanguichi stand out and be a better character than spinner. This could be from the fundamental differences in ideals and respective goals. Also, it would be cool to see wanguichi interact with some 1A students such as shoji, koda, and other characters who faced mutant discrimination.
From what I can see Wanguichi will absolutely hate miriko and Hawk's and may even have some conflict with characters who are mutants and uphold the system like centipede or gang orca. However, the most interesting interaction with wanguichi would be with asui because if you can remember asui is the least mutated in her family yet she still has the capabilities of a frog so I feel like she would understand wanguichi and would question her own beliefs and may even help him as she doesn't want for her family to be discrimated against due to their mutation that they can't control.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love that you're bringing up one of eraserheads expelled students as a villain and I feel like he would absolutely despise bakugo thinking that he is naive and is like other heroes such as enji who will never face the consequences of their actions due to their privilege. I imagine that heracles would have an interesting dynamic with izuku pushing him to see bakugos faults and allow him to break free of that chain that society put on him to act and think a certain way, to conform and fit in so he won't be ridiculed (an active fear that izuku is shown to have in canon).
Tumblr media
Pyrokindle, I can see heavily interacting and being involved in the todoroki plot line, probably also plotting enji's downfall alongside dabi. However, I see her and Dabi getting into multiple arguments about what Dabi is willing to do and his hatred for shoto and other family members. I see them actively challenging one another's perceptions of the thin line that is revenge and justice, or hatred and jealousy. It would be interesting for them to interact, especially considering Touya's toxic childhood beliefs that were installed in him ever since he was a child.
Vesper would get along well with Twice. I feel like they may argue considering certain things, but they would work together to present a new law that controls how quirks can be used in the workforce to prevent the exploitation of quirks and harassment or discrimation.
Vesper's goals are understandable, and honestly, he can interact with any character, although I see him and jirou + mic meshing well together due to the fact that their quirks can be used for their hobbies/jobs in the music industry.
Finally, I am glad that you also have quirkless rep here with a character like monotone he heavily reminds me of Mustard and what he was saying in the training camp arc with individuals relying heavily on their quirks. Out of all the characters I see him and izuku meshing well together, having him challenge izuku and the toxic internalised beliefs that izuku has developed due to being in a toxic environment that despised him for not having a quirk and thinking that he was weak monotone would break that and I imagine he and izuku would form a good relationship. I see monotone getting on with monoma and other quirkless fighters who don't have the privilege of relying on a good quirk.

wolf siblings AU!! what do the sibs generally think of the other members of VM? who's their fave?
For the most part they like them! Vesper and Whitney don't particularly care for Scanlan's jokes (and seeing more obviously the effect those kinds of jokes have on his sisters when they can't do anything about it prompts Julius to rethink some of his scoundrel history) but everyone likes his music.
Whitney has a soft spot for both Vax and Keyleth, especially Keyleth because if she follows Keyleth around while she's foraging or gardening Keyleth will talk to her about what she's doing and for Whitney that almost feels like being a human again.
Cass and Oliver love Grog - he's so big and strong and they get to play fight with him to their heart's content when Julius gets tired of them. They also love Vax because of the shared chaotic little shit instinct.
Ludwig likes Keyleth, Pike and Vex. He liked Tiberius well enough for a while, enjoyed sitting with him while he enchanted things, but got snappy with him when he started getting more self-centered especially once the Briarwoods had visited. He likes being able to sit quietly with people though - while Keyleth gardens, while Pike tends her chapel, while Vex does the accounts. It's not always safe to be in Percy's lab, so having other options is nice. Plus Vex knows how to groom them, so they've all got a soft spot for her.
Vesper's favourite is Percy. Honestly, Vesper being a wolf is the first time Percy twigs that he is Vesper's favourite of her siblings - she sticks by his side more often than any of them - and yes, she was his favourite too, but he didn't think that was returned. Why would it be, he's him? But it's Vesper who keeps him company when none of the others want to move, it's Vesper who's sat at his side when they find out the Briarwoods have visited and are going to visit again, and it's Vesper's who's fur he buries his hands in when he has to recount what happened. Vesper loves her first little brother dearly, and she knows Julius will take care of the rest - someone has to take care of him.
Julius's favourites are Scanlan and Vax, though seeing - and smelling! - the effect of Scanlan and his jokes can have on people, the discomfort and all - makes him rethink a few things about his own prior behaviour. Vax he respects, because they're not too far off in age and both pride themselves on taking care of their siblings.
All of them have a soft spot for Vex, as the first one they met, and not a one of them minds her baby talking to them. They generally see it as kind of insulting, especially given Percy never babytalks to them and given most people assume they're ranger companions for him, you'd think they'd take cues from him - but with Vex... she babytalks to Trinket. They all know how much she loves Trinket. From her and her alone, it is the highest of praise.
Also she knows how to groom them well, and of all of them it's her and Keyleth who notice what of their traits aren't accurate to wild wolves, even ones which are companion animals. Of all of them, those two (especially given as the most perceptive they've seen the names on Percy's List) have the best chance of figuring out they once were people and thereby bypassing the curse keeping Percy from telling anyone.
Send me asks about my fic ideas!

it's part of the happy au, i swear
--
"Uncle Vax?"
Vesper is swinging her feet as they sit in a tree branch together. he's pretty sure Vex would kill him for letting Vesper be up so high, but his wings last an hour and she's still building up her strength with her wings so really it shouldn't matter.
"Yeah, Squirt?" he asks softly. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see his niece frowning. She frowns like Percy, her eyebrows furrowed as she picks her words with intention before she speaks them out loud.
She is so much like Percy, it makes him laugh most of the time.
But there is too much weight in her expression for him to be anything but worried.
"You and Mama and Papa and everyone are all heroes," she starts slowly.
He turns to face her, to give her his undivided attention and encouragement. "Yeah, but we spent a lot of time getting there first. When we were young we were angry and maybe did some less than stellar things. Why?"
She fidgets, her hands shaking a little bit. Another quirk of Percy's. "And Mama and Papa named me after Papa's eldest sister and your mother...was your mother good?"
"The best," Vax answers honestly, not sure where she's going with this just yet but wanting her to feel loved and supported. To his horror, her eyes begin to fill with tears and he immediately pulls her close. "Hey, hey...it's all right, Squirt. I'm here. Whatever it is, I've got you. Your Mum and Dad will love you no matter what..."
"What if I'm not good enough?" she sobs into his chest, her hands clinging to his armor.
Vax presses kiss after kiss into his niece's hair. "Good enough? Good enough for what?" he asks, trying to wipe away her tears with his thumb, but they're falling too quickly.
"Good enough to make you proud, good enough to be worthy of you all," Vesper whimpers and Vax's heart breaks and hardens all at once.
"Have you talked to your Mum and Dad about this?" he asks desperately, cradling her in his arms like she was a newborn all over again. He knows the answer, but he can't help but let out a sigh when Vesper shakes her head against his chest. "Did something happen?"
Vesper nods, her knuckles white from clinging to him. "I messed up."
"What did you mess up?" Vax questions, desperately trying to think of any incident his sister or her husband have mentioned. When he can't think of anything, he lets his wings act as a shield for Vesper, not knowing what else to do. "Vesper," he tells his teenaged niece. "You could kill someone and I'm pretty sure the only thing your mother and father would have to say about it would be that they'd go hide the body for you. We love you, Squirt. More than anything. You don't have to do anything other than be yourself to be worthy of us. You are already so, so good..."
He presses his forehead to hers to physically anchor her back in the moment, to get her to breathe.
"I see so many good things in you...you are a kind sister. You taught yourself Infernal the moment that Gwen was born so she wouldn't feel alone and would always have someone to communicate with, and you taught her Celestial when she had doubts about her own goodness.
You are a protective older cousin, and you've always looked after the younger ones, making sure they're safe. Remember when Lark got hurt playing hide and seek? You kept him calm until we got him all fixed up.
You are incredibly loyal to the people of Whitestone. Your Aunt Cassandra tells me how much you advocate for them when you go to Cabinet meetings.
Your mother and father absolutely adore you with all of their hearts. I'm sure your dad's got like...a novel of all the things he sees in you and loves about you, but trust me when I say the people closest to you have no doubts about your worthiness. And we all make mistakes. So nothing you can do will make us stop loving you and will erase any of those other things that make up who you are."
He pokes the center of her chest, where her heart is and she lets out a watery giggle. "So what happened, hmm, Squirt?"
Running a hand through her hair, Vesper sighs. "Last time he was here, Grandfather said--"
Vax scowls. "Well, listening to him was your first mistake."
"I'm sure he really didn't mean anything by it," Vesper protests softly.
"Doesn't matter." He has to try very hard to keep the snarl out of his voice. "It still hurt you. That's what matters. That man is allegedly family, he shouldn't be hurting you at all."
Vesper looks down. "This is why I didn't say anything. I didn't want to upset anyone and...and I was scared maybe he was right."
"See, you even care about your shithead grandfather even if he doesn't deserve it," Vax replies, still scowling. "Although maybe a good call on not telling your Dad right away. I always think Fred's one social faux pas away from shooting him in his fucking smarmy arse, not that I think he doesn't deserve it..."
Vesper chokes on a watery chuckle and Vax kisses her hair again. "Thanks, Uncle Vax," she whispers, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"Anytime, Squirt," Vax hums, looking out over the expanse of the Parchwood Forest. "Now, we're gonna go back and we're gonna tell your parents what happened, but before we do, I'm gonna tell you one more important thing, okay?"
"Okay?" Vesper asks unsurely.
"If your Dad does shoot your Grandfather in his smarmy arse, just remember that your Granddad started it by being an absolute wretch of a man to your mother and I in the first place. So whatever your Dad decides to do is certainly not your fault."
When the Ambassador of Syngorn came to Whitestone next, he was not shot, but the Lord of Whitestone's well aimed punch left a very noticeable bruise.
And the Lady of Whitestone did not chide her husband for it. If anything, the Ambassador was required to apologize to Vesper de Rolo for his poorly spoken words.
And later that afternoon, wrapped up between her parent's loving embrace, Vesper smiles and realizes how glad she is to have her Uncle Vax as a confidant.

Day 3: Be True To Yourself
Aka me literally just infodumping about my Ocs because I love them ♡
Brought to you by Colorvision! Yep, I decided to get off my lazy butt and color traditionally today :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off, Tiara Depurrnaire (She/Her)! A Sweetypie cat who's partially related to the Snugglemagne family and, in my timeskip AU, Adorabat's future girlfriend. Like Adorabat, she lost her leg to a monster while wandering the King's dungeons. She aspires to be just as brave as Adorabat but lacks the gall, being content to watch and learn from the sidelines. As they both get older Tiara realizes that she is a lesbian, and develops a mutual crush on Adorabat that turns into a relationship. As she ages, Tiara' aspirations to become a hero fade, and she settles for becoming a ballet teacher. She learns to be brave in her own way and unconditionally supports her monster-slaying adventuring partner, no matter how their paths diverge.
Tumblr media
T H E Y (Also I need to post my full adult Adorabat design sometime)
Tumblr media
Next up is Sherbet (They/Them), a Sweetypie rabbit who makes ice cream for a living! I don't really have a backstory for them but I believe they realized they were nonbinary in their younger years (around early middle school age) and have fully embraced their identity! They don't let anything get them down and are eager to cheer up the citizens of Pure Heart Valley, one ice cream cone at a time. They're also good acquaintances with Badgerclops and Adorabat, for obvious reasons. Their eyes function similarly to Badgerclops', as they only open when they feel strong emotions.
Tumblr media
Next (and honestly one of my favorites) is Moa Nola (Xe/Xem), an agender Oriental Shorthair cat who, surprisingly, isn't related to the Mao clan. Xe originally started off as a joke character based on the misspelling of Mao Mao's name in "I'm Mao Mao", but I eventually grew attached to xem and gave xem a full-fledged backstory. Xe comes from a family of fishermen, but after xyr father was killed in a monster attack, xe decided that xe wanted to become a legendary monster hunter. Xe created xyr cloak after xyr first successful monster fight. After being mistaken for the son of Shin Mao too many times, xe used it to xyr advantage and began going under Mao Mao's title for a while. However, after being stopped by Mao Mao himself, xe dropped the act and began looking for a new sense of purpose. Ironically, xe starts collecting antique ventriloquist dummies similar to Mr. Din Danalin.
Tumblr media
Following up on the "based on a misspelling" theme is Rhapsody (She/They), a femme-aligned nonbinary Sweetypie vampire bat inspired by Adorabat's name being mistranslated as "doorbat" in YouTube autocaptions. She is Adorabat maternal cousin, as their mother is Sonara's sister. Rhapsody was heavily impacted by Sonara's death, but rather than becoming tough like Adorabat or overprotective like Eugene, she became more reserved out of fear that they could be next. In other words, she became a doorbat (haha funny). With the arrival of Mao Mao and Badgerclops, plus the defeat of the monster that killed their aunt, Rhapsody begins to come out of her shell and indulges in their biggest passion - music. Like Adorabat she learns to use their voice as a weapon, but hers is more of a siren's song than a sonic screech. In my timeskip AU, they leave Pure Heart Valley to become a popstar, writing songs inspired by her childhood memories and their home. It's obscured by the flag but the marking on her chest is a bleeding heart, emphasizing her passionate drive.
Tumblr media
(Rhapsody's kid and adult forms [kinda old])
+ OCs of mine I didn't feel like making alternate drawings for:
Tumblr media
Buzz-Buzz (Zhe/Ze/Zhey), a demigender Sweetypie bumblebee bat who protects the bees of Pure Heart Valley! Despite zer small stature, zhe is actually an adult, just naturally small. Zhe also grows herbs on the side and volunteers at the Pure Heart Valley hospital. Primarily because zhe has a crush on the head doctor there... (I did not make zer to selfship with Cuddlestein. Nope. Not at all.)
Tumblr media
My Badgermao "fankid", Sai (They/He/It)! I say "fankid" in air quotes because they're from an AU where Badgerclops' spare arm became corrupt and gained a conscience. Their robot arm is actually their body - the rest of their body is a projection of light, similar to the gems from Steven Universe! They have masculine programming (as their AI was made using Badgerclops's DNA a la Cortana from Halo), but identify as agender and use they/he/it pronouns. Originally they began as a blank slate with no personality aside from the programmed personality Badgerclops gave them, but they eventually grow their own personality and moral compass as they analyze the Sheriff's Department's work. Just like Badgerclops, they have a passion for building robots and weapons, and can even modify themselves to fit the situation! Most of their creations are usually for fun, though.
Tumblr media
Anf the last one I have a reference for but not the least, Karma Vesper (She/They)! This one is actually my self-insert, lol. She is a biro-ace demigirl Javanese Cream-Point Cat! Her necklace was a gift from her family, and her hood was a gift from her mentor. After her village was ambushed by criminals, she became a wandering hero, and accidentally stumbled upon Pure Heart Valley while following a report of increased monster activity. At some point during her adventures alone she realized that she was biro-ace, since she felt no sexual attraction but still felt romantic attraction. Around the time she came to Pure Heart Valley she realized that she never really felt, like, 100% a GIRL girl (if that makes sense) and began identifying as a demigirl. (Yes this is my hidden self-actualization story :>) She enjoys researching gemstones and ancient artifacts, and the Ruby Pure Heart immediately caught her attention once she laid eyes on it. While she is still a wandering hero, she has a temporary residence in Pure Heart Valley, where she stays to research the Heart's powers as well as assist the townspeople. Her and the Sheriff's Department didn't start out on the best terms since Mao was worried she was trying to replace them, but they tolerate each other now.
+ the OCs I don't have references for:
I did have a reference for these guys but idk where it is rn ;-;. Anywway, my most recent OCs and also some of my favorite OCs are Bernard and Pierre, a black bear and polar bear respectively (both use He/Him)! They are both gay and in a healthy relationship & live in a cabin in the forest together. They are just. Two old gay granddads and I love them. Anyway! They both met after an accident which caused Bernard to blow out his left knee and Pierre to lose his left hand; they had been best friends since, and boyfriends later on! Bernard is a baker while Pierre is a wood carver, although they indulge in each other's interests as well. For the most part they just stay in their cabin in the forest, but they leave to buy groceries and sell their products.
And the final OC I'm gonna talk about is Storm Mao (They/Them)! They're from an AU where Mao was born in a litter of five, like his sisters. Ever since Storm were young, they felt like weren't "normal" compared to their siblings. They didn't feel like a girl or a boy. After Mao came out as a trans boy, they began questioning themselves further. Eventually they decided to ask Contacts Sister for help, as she was among the smartest of the Mao children. Contacts explained to Storm that there are people who don't identify as a boy or a girl, and Storm realized they weren't alone. Since then, they started identifying as nonbinary and began using they/them pronouns, and their family supported their decision. Aside from them and Mao, their litter siblings are also LGBTQ+ - Mamoru (He/Him) is AroAce, Bernadette (She/Her) is bi and Zhijun (He/Him) is gay. I'd talk about the AU more in a separate post, if anyone wants me too^ ^;;
If I remember any other LGBTQ+ OCs I have, I'll reblog with them ✌

Dizzy On The Comedown
[Wing AU]
Wing Reference
For an art-writing trade with @chimkennumget! They requested a fic about Banna, so here you go! I hope you enjoy!
Word count: 3448
TW: Blood, animal death, Bessie eats a rabbit
---------------------------------------
Warmth blazed across Anna’s scales.
In her mind, nothing was better than the feeling of sunlight on wings. She knew that her tribe was more into cave-dwelling, but no amount of jewels or treasures they found within caverns could possibly beat this feeling. The way the heat coursed through every vein, fueling the flames inside her furnace of a chest, was better than any ruby, sapphire, or emerald.
Spiraling upwards, Anna broke through a thick layer of grey clouds. And there, stretched all around her, was the endless expanse of the clear sky. Pink and yellow and orange all bled together, spilling across the horizon like paints on a canvas. The setting sun bathed her in its dying rays of twilight and she spread her wings and frills to soak in every last sundrop.
Then, her wings snapped shut and she was plummeting.
Her siblings always said she was the best at Chicken. She always boasted about being the best, too. She just had better control over her speed and velocity than they did, calculating the perfect time to pull up before she crashed into something.
This was not one of those times.
See, she pulled off the swoop perfectly, flaring her wings just in time before she caved in her skull on the ground, and pulled off an A+ upwards arc. But then as she was soaring, she slammed straight into a hovering avian and sent them both tumbling into the grass below.
The two of them hit the ground in a roll, with Anna ending up on top when they finally came to a half. She shook her head, finding that the other person’s ear was caught in one of her curled ram horns.
This was a Vesper, then. And when she got a good look at her, she saw that it was actually a Vesper she knew.
“Oh. Hey, Bessie.” Anna said. “Guess you could say I’ve fallen for you.”
Bessie wrinkled her nose. Her black wings were sprawled out across the grass, dewclaws curled into tight fists like she was trying to clench away the pain of the crash landing. The one ear that wasn’t caught in a tangle of horns was twitching at the side of her head, as if her echolocation was trying to figure out how it hadn’t seen her coming.
“Sorry about that, babe,” Anna said apologetically. She carefully untangled Bessie’s ear from her horn, knowing how sensitive they were, then got off. She watched as the skinny Vesper pushed herself up and stretched out her wings and her back, then looked around.
“Damnit,” Bessie muttered. “You scared off my meal.”
“Your m--” Anna understood after a moment. “Oh. You’re having rabbit again?”
“It was a squirrel, actually,” Bessie said, flashing Anna a thin smile that made her elbow frills flutter. So she wasn’t mad. That was good.
“Ah, what fine dining,” Anna nodded wisely.
“Yes, indeed it was.” Bessie replied, then pricked her ears. She made a soft squeaking sound (it was supposed to be louder, but Anna knew she was shy about making noises in front of others), but couldn’t seem to pick up on her prey. “Damn. It bolted.”
  “Sorry.” Anna said apologetically.
“Don’t worry about it,” Bessie said. “I’ll find something else.” With that, she spread her wings and took to the air to do just that.
Anna hesitated a moment, then followed. She wasn’t sure if Bessie wanted her to come along, but she didn’t say anything when she saw her catch up beside her.
The two of them flew side-by-side for a few minutes, circling around the park as Bessie searched for something to eat. The rays of twilight were beaming down over Bessie’s body, and Anna hung back a few beats to admire her. There was something so alluring about this avian and Anna could never put her claw on it. Bessie lacked muscle, proper weight, curves, and instead had a sunken stomach, a nicked right ear, and willowy wings that looked like they hadn’t been washed in weeks. But, in Anna’s eyes, she was perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Suddenly, Bessie shot down from the sky faster than Anna had ever seen her fly before. She saw her open her talons as if she were actually a swooping owl Avem and snatch a rabbit right up from a patch of flowers. She broke its neck in one quick snap, then grabbed it by the ears to hold with her hands. She returned to Anna nonchalantly, while Anna felt her face go hot with admiration.
“What?” Bessie asked, noticing her ogling at her.
“That was incredibly attractive.” Anna said.
Bessie blinked, then her own face went red. She pinned her ears back, almost falling out of the sky because of the way her wings faltered in reaction.
“Oh, well--” It was clear she wasn’t used to being complimented about her hunting style. Most other Avians don’t like the primal way of hunting when they could just go buy processed food. “Thanks.”
“No problem,” Anna flashed her a smile.
Bessie gave her a wry one in return, then swooped down to the ground to go eat. Anna followed, and the two of them landed beneath a large tree. After settling herself, Bessie promptly opened her mouth and sunk her fangs into the dead rabbit’s throat.
Anna couldn’t help but shiver. It always seemed so wrong to watch someone just drink out of an animal as if it were a juicebox. She almost felt like she should look away, like she was watching someone have sex, but her eyes lingered regardless of what her brain wanted.
Bessie noticed her staring after a moment. She pulled away slowly and ropes of shimmering red blood tied her mouth to the rabbit’s throat. It almost looked like she had lipstick on, if lipstick dripped down chins and smelled strongly of copper. She licked her lips clean with her odd, prehensile vesper tongue.
“Did you want some?” Bessie asked, and Anna honestly couldn't tell if she was joking or not.
“No, I’m okay,” Anna said, although she almost said yes to avoid hurting Bessie’s feelings. But Bessie didn’t look hurt by the turn-down, she just merely shrugged and got back to drink.
And then she began tearing.
Sharp bat fangs ripped out the rabbit’s jugular and Bessie scarfed down the piece of meat, trachea and fur and all. The aorta squirted blood across her face and she snorted in reaction, shook her head like a horse that had been startled, then dug her teeth back in. She ate the rabbit’s skin and muscle and tissue and esophagus like it was nothing, like it was just a piece of candy she pulled off the shelf at a grocery store, like it wasn’t a raw rabbit that would get other Avians sick.
The way she was positioned didn’t really help, either. Bessie was crouched low on the ground, balanced on her back talons, hunched over the rabbit so the blood wouldn’t get on her clothes. She firmly grasped the head and back thighs in both talons, stretching the body out in front of her like a buffet ready to be eaten. And, in a way, it was a buffet to Bessie- one made of fur and guts and blood.
Bessie was pulling off one of the long ears to chew on when she finally noticed the aghast expression on Anna’s face. Her mouth was absolutely dripping with gore, blood and muscle and bits of flesh becoming a slippery slick mask of carnage upon her face. But underneath it, she was pale and tense, and Anna could already guess what she was fearing.
“Sorry,” Bessie whispered, folding her ears back. She turned her head away so Anna couldn’t see the mess. “I didn’t--” She shut her mouth, only letting her tongue slip out to try and lick her lips clean.
“It’s alright, darling,” Anna assured her, because it really was. She just wasn’t used to seeing Bessie eat up close like this.
Bessie shook her head. “No, no, it’s not. You shouldn’t--” She cut herself off again and looked away miserably.
“It is.” Anna said firmly. She folded one wing around Bessie’s back comfortingly. “Trust me, it is.”
“I was just hungry,” Bessie whispered shamefully.
“I know, babes,” Anna said, then kissed the base of one of her ears, seeing as her mouth and cheek weren’t really an option. “Hey, tell you what. Why don’t you come stay the night with me? I can prove to you everything is okay.”
Bessie looked up at her sharply. Anna quickly added, “Not that that. Sorry, that was the wrong word choice. I’m not going to do anything to you.”
Bessie thought over it for a moment, glancing back down at the rabbit, then nodded. “Alright,” She said, and Anna’s elbow frills couldn’t help but flutter when she agreed.
  “Wonderful!” Anna beamed.
Bessie finished gouging the rabbit’s throat after five more minutes, then finally threw its corpse to the side and licked her mouth clean. Anna wasn’t entirely sure how her saliva was very effective in cleaning herself, seeing as it had also come in contact with all the blood and guts and flesh, but she didn’t question the Vesper way. She doubted a Hydra would be able to understand it, anyway.
On the way to her house, Anna felt excitement rocket through her. This was the first time in their relationship that they would be spending the night with one another. It was a big step for them, especially Bessie, who was very wary of most romantic things. Not that Anna blamed her after all she’s been through. Still, she couldn’t help but do a gleeful flip in the air as they neared the queen residence. A soft giggle from behind meant Bessie had seen it and Anna grinned widely.
“I’m home!” Anna called into the house after landing. “And I got company!”
Aragon was the first to greet them, walking out of the kitchen while wiping her claws with a rag. “Elizabeth,” She cooed, extending her glistening phoenix wings, which Bessie sunk into almost immediately. She cupped her talons behind the Vesper’s skull and pressed their foreheads together, then released her. “It’s good to see you this evening. Have you stopped by for dinner?”
“Oh, I, uhh, already ate.” Bessie said sheepishly. Her ears kept going back, then up, then back again, and she was wiping her palms against her pants from obvious stress. Staying the night with a lover must be putting her anxiety on high alert.
“I see,” Aragon nodded, then peered closely at Bessie. “Are you alright, dear? You’re awfully pale.”
“She’s just a little nervous,” Anna stepped in for Bessie. “She’s staying the night with me for the first time.”
“Oh!” Aragon said, though Anna could see protectiveness flicker inside her eyes. “How fun! That’s a big step! Anna, do you mind if I talk to you for a moment?”
“Of course,” Anna said, then whispered to Bessie, “Wish me luck.”
Bessie managed a small giggle in reaction.
“My room is downstairs. Over in that hallway.” Anna nodded in the right direction. “I’ll meet you in there, alright?”
Bessie nodded, then shuffled down into the hall with her wings drawn in tight. Aragon waited for her to be out of sight, then extended one wing across Anna’s back and led her into the kitchen.
“I’m really happy for you,” Aragon told her. “This is really important to Elizabeth, you know. She loves you a lot, she’s just a little shy and it’s hard for her to admit these things.”
“I love her, too,” Anna said. “So much.”
Aragon smiled. “I’m glad. So just know that,” She held up her wickedly sharp talons and inspected them, “if you do anything to hurt my Elizabeth, anything at all, or if you do anything she doesn’t like or want, I will personally carve off every single one of your scales, rip your wings off, and then pluck your insides out one by one and feed them to your dogs, all while you’re still alive and squirming and begging for mercy.” As fast as a bullwhip, she grabbed Anna by one of the horns and yanked her in close, snarling, “And don’t think I won’t do it.”
Anna was unable to reply. She just stared at Aragon, her mouth hanging open, expression frozen in horror.
“Do you understand me?” Aragon asked lowly.
“Y-yes ma’am,” Anna stuttered, the ‘ma’am’ slipping out without her even thinking.
“Good!” Aragon released Anna and smiled pleasantly. She folded her talons together, looking absolutely innocent and gleeful and supportive. “Now, go along! Don’t keep Elizabeth waiting! And don’t forget what I said.”
Anna scrambled to her bedroom like a dog with its tail tucked beneath its legs, glancing over her shoulders several times to make sure Aragon hadn’t changed her mind and to check that her wings were still even there. They were, thank God.
When she entered her bedroom, she was met with a squeak of fright. Bessie was sitting on her bed, grooming her wings with her tongue, which snapped back inside of her mouth when Anna came in.
“Oh. Hello. There.” Bessie stammered, mincing her words together. “I didn’t hear you. For some reason. Weird. I am a Vesper. Good hearing and all…” She trailed off awkwardly, shaking out her wings as if they were covered in cobwebs.
Anna chuckled, finding her awkwardness adorable. “Hello to you, too,” She said down next to Bessie.
“So…” Bessie said. “What do we do now?”
“I can groom you if you’d like?”
Bessie wrinkled her nose, then looked down at her wings. “I’m not dirty.”
“You were just licking them,” Anna pointed out. But that comment just made Bessie look extremely wounded and she gathered her wings in close to her back, suddenly ashamed.
“That’s how my tribe grooms themselves…” Bessie whispered, ducking her head.
“Oh. Oh, darling,” Anna cupped Bessie’s cheeks and made her look back up at her. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“‘s alright,” Bessie said with a light shrug. “Umm… A bath with you would be nice, though…”
Anna perked up. “Really? You wanna do that with me?” She hadn’t expected Bessie to be so willing to do something so intimate.
“I don’t know,” Bessie groaned. She curled against Anna, and Anna instantly swept a wing around her. “I’m blood drunk and it sucks, okay? It’s hard to think straight.” She shivered, and Anna already knew what she was fearing from being in her current state.
“That can happen?” Anna asked curiously, rubbing a hand up and down Bessie’s back comfortingly.
Bessie nodded. “One rabbit won’t be enough to cause it, though. Maybe...seven?” She smiled up at Anna sheepishly.
“You’ve eaten seven rabbits today?” Anna asked.
“I drink blood when I’m depressed, okay!” Bessie flared. “Which is, like, all the time, but today I went a little overboard so...pretty good that you crashed into me because I would probably eat all night.”
  “Your poor stomach.”
Bessie shrugged. “I can handle it.” She stretched herself out over Anna’s lap, and Anna could see a faint bleariness in her eyes, signaling that she was, in fact, blood drunk. Anna massaged behind one of her ears, eliciting a coo of bliss.
“You’re adorable,” Anna laughed. “So, about the bath…”
“Yes,” Bessie said. “I need to get used to it if this will be a normal thing. I want to be okay with stuff like this, I do.”
Anna nodded. “Just don’t push yourself, okay?”
  “I will.”
Anna soon prepared the bathtub, filling it with hot water and adding some soap in to cover the surface with bubbles simply for Bessie’s sake. She got undressed quickly, tossing her clothes into the hamper, before stepping into the water. A moment later, Bessie staggered in, shaking, wings drawn in close around her, completely naked. Anna felt her breath leave her lungs.
  “Wow,” Anna murmured.
Bessie’s face turned bright red. Her confidence in this idea seemed to be draining, but she doesn’t stop the execution of it. She does, however, stop moving completely and just stood there, trembling.
“You’re beautiful,” Anna said, unable to take her eyes off of her girlfriend’s body.
“I am?” Bessie asked her weakly.
“You are,” Anna assured her. “Come, my love.”
Bessie hesitated, then stepped into the bathtub, settling in front of Anna. She was so small like this, limbs pulled in tightly so she would be curled into the fetal position. Tension rolled through every visible muscle and her wings were locked up in a way that looked uncomfortable. She nearly jumped out of her skin with Anna splashed some water over her back.
“Sorry,” Anna said quickly. “I didn’t mean to scare you. Do you mind if I wash your wings?”
Bessie took a deep breath, then nodded. “Go ahead.”
Anna smiled. She slathered one of Bessie’s bony wings in vanilla-scented soap, then began rubbing. Her hand movements were slow and soothing, covering every membrane and bone until the skin looked more white than black with all the soap on it. Bessie seemed to be enjoying the washing, too, seeing as she was cooing and squeaking loudly in response to it.
“Thank you,” Bessie whispered breathily as Anna worked on her other wing. “Really. This...this is so nice. I never thought I’d be able to get the courage to be groomed like this again.”
Anna smiled. She leaned forward and pressed a kiss to the nape of Bessie’s neck, then said, “It’s no problem, princess. I’ll do anything for you. Anything to make you happy.”
Bessie was quiet for a moment, making Anna think she said something wrong, and then she twisted around in the tub and kissed Anna.
Anna’s wings, ruff, and frills all flared outward in shock. She fell backwards into the tub, splashing loudly and sloshing water all over the floor. She was almost submerged before she managed to prop up her elbows and kiss back, easily falling into the heat of the action. Bessie pulled back a moment later, her face inflamed with red.
“I-I’m sorry,” Bessie stammered. “I didn’t mean to startle y--”
Anna threw her wings around the Vesper and pulled her in close, pressing their lips together once again. Bessie leaned into her, cooing into the kiss and sending vibrations throughout Anna’s head.
Anna had heard the warnings when she first started dating a Vesper. Don’t be with them, they’ll suck your blood when you kiss; don’t be with them, they’ll rip your throat out when you’re asleep; don’t be with them, they’ll contaminate you with their blood.
But holding onto this woman right now, looking down at her adorable blushing face and gorgeous body, Anna didn’t care at all. She didn’t care about any of those things because she knew they weren’t true. Bessie was the one for her, and she was going to love her regardless of if she were a Vesper or not.
Anna felt Bessie’s fangs gently brush against her lips as she pulled back. “I love you,” She said. “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too,” Bessie murmured, resting her head on Anna’s chest. She overlapped her wings with Anna’s, soapy skin meeting warm scales. “Thank you.”
“Anything for you, princess.” Anna kissed the top of her head.
And then the door to the bathroom burst open and Aragon came barging in in a panic, probably alerted by the slamming and splashing going on. Her wings were flared, feathered standing on end, and her talons were hooked and primed for blood.
Anna’s blood.
The three of them stared at each other, frozen in shock.
“C-Catalina?” Bessie squeaked, huddling against Anna like she was trying to hide. Anna quickly swept her wings around her to hide any bare skin or visible genitals from sight.
“Elizabeth,” Aragon said. She examined the scene. “Oh. Oh! You two are just bathing! Consensually I hope?” She narrowed her eyes at Anna dangerously.
  “Yes, consensually,” Anna assured her.
“I wanted to,” Bessie said. “I’m okay.”
Aragon fluffed out her wings, then settled them back. She smiled as if nothing had happened. “Good! That’s good. Well, dinner is ready once you’re done. And, Anna? Don’t forget what I said.” She left the room in a whirl of golden-orange feathers, shutting the door behind her.
Bessie blinked up at Anna. “What did she tell you?”
“She’s going to feed my guts to my dogs.”
  “Ah,” Bessie nodded. “Classic Catalina.”
And they both laughed, leaning into each other’s embrace, wings holding one another, and there was no other place they would rather be than there.

Alright so, related to this post, I decided to change Cress’ spouse from some OC to a character from another Pokemon game, specifically Pokemon Duel.
More meta thoughts and really long but tldr: Cress is now married to Luca from Pokemon Duel and this made me sit down and think more on the twins as well and realized that yeah Regan’s old name really really needed to change. Still getting used to his new one though.
A bit of a backstory. The kids of Striaton Triplets and Battle Chatelaines were the second set of fankids for this au I had come up with, and at the time while I did like the interactions I had come up for them in my verse I wasn’t big on shipping any of them with each other, so all the kid’s parents were just meant to be unseen/barely mentioned OCs.
Then I decided to just pair up Chili and Dana and have their kids (Chili’s daughter and Dana’s son) be siblings, formally joining the two groups of siblings. Which I honestly should have done sooner especially since I liked both groups a lot.
Eventually ended up making Trevor Nita’s husband and Vesper’s father since he actually fit the vague idea of who that person would have been, so why not. Vesper did end up changing quite a bit however but I started finding the ship cute (plus rarepairs are my bittersweet poison).
So for a long time only Cilan and Cress still had the OC wives, since while I did see Cilan & Evelyn and Cress & Morgan as having the most interactions and fun dynamic with each other, I didn’t necessarily ship them, or at least not enough to endgame them in this verse. Evelyn was and still is fine as a single mother, very unlikely to change anytime soon (ignoring yknow the omegaverse side of things where things are a bit more complicated but she does end up married with OC) and Morgan just seems like the type to stay a single and rich cool aunt to the kids. Plus pairing Chili/Dana was already enough to me.
I was fine with how things were for a while, until I was making the family tree and it felt weird to leave the space for the Cilan and Cress’ wives without a name. Then I remembered Trinnia from Pokemon Masters, and how I did joke the first time I played that game that Trista, Tricia, and Trinnia looked like female counterparts to the Striaton Triplets “and what if we pair them all together like PowerPuff Girls and RowdyRuff Boys. Obviously I wouldn’t follow through since I was already attached to Chili/Dana, but Cilan/Trinnia did appeal to me. So the only problem was Cress. I gave Cress/Tricia and even Cress/Trista some thought, but neither of them appealed to me at all for some reason. So at that point I gave up and just browsed through some nice sounding names. Build an idea of who this lady is. And I was starting to like where I was going with things.
Then out of the blue I remembered Pokemon Duel and remembered the characters. I honestly adored that game, even though I never got to finish the game since at some point I couldn’t get past most of the opponents at all. Seeing Luca and Tia again, one of my first thoughts was literally “perfect for Cress.” But to be really honest here my first impulse was to go with Cress/Luca bc I am predictable. I did want to give Tia a chance though and not have another ‘soft blue girl who just ends up as surrogate mom so two guys can have a kid’ so I had things set up that both get a chance to meet and interact with Cress to give me more of an idea of who to endgame him with. Eventually (and probably not surprisingly) Cress/Luca won in the end.
The thing is, as I was thinking about all this, I came to realize that wow, I really need to change Réveil’s name. It just didn’t fit at all anymore, originally he had that as a sort of reference to the Chatelaine Sisters’ time of day theme going on, similar to Zea’s name being a reference to the Striaton Triplets’ surname/them in their Japanese names. The more I developed things however, the more it started to make less to keep that name. Finally endgaming Cress with Luca just finally pushed me to make that long overdue change.

2020 Weekly Ficlet 5/52(? We’ll see?)
“Always Meant to Be” (Critical Role C2 AU)
No one was surprised the baby was a tiefling—Honestly, Kashaw and Zahra would’ve been more surprised if their son hadn’t been—but the lavender skin was unexpected, as were the handful of eye-shaped red spots on the infant’s neck, shoulder, hand, etc. Still, he was here, he was healthy and alive (no small miracle, given how close all three had come to dying in the battle against Vecna)—he was perfect.
Lucien (“just a placeholder name,” Zahra had insisted; “he’ll choose his own once he has a better sense of himself.”) was a happy baby, if not an easy one. Even early on he liked people, and didn’t fuss about which of them or their friends was holding him, but the instant he could crawl about on his own, it took near-constant vigilance on the part of both of his parents to ensure that Lucien’s seemingly endless curiosity didn’t drive him into dangerous situations, places, and ‘good gods, Lucien don’t put that in your mouth!’
Still, as Kashaw watched his son explore and learn so quickly, or play with Zahra as she sang and joked in rapid infernal, or when he held him close against his chest the few times Lucien was content to remain so still, holding him as he drifted to sleep, utterly content and so innocently trusting, Kash was struck again and again by the realization that this very joy he’d long considered out of his reach was  somehow a reality.
Gods help the fool who tried to take it away from him.
----------------
(Actually, they didn’t.)
Kashaw and the then two-year-old Lucien were in the Vesper Timberland not far from Vasselheim’s walls gathering a few components needed for Zahra’ next commissioned creation. (Dangerous place for a toddler? Maybe, but preferable to leaving him home alone with Zahra being called out last-minute on a hunt for the Slayer’s Take. No matter: Luci knew to stay close when Kash used his ‘serious voice.)
Then came the blast of necrotic energy from the shadows at the edge of the clearing that caught Kash of guard and sent him crashing to the ground for a moment, and six dark-robed and hooded figures stepped into the open, five of them immediately moving to surround the temporarily-stunned human, the apparent leader snatching up the frightened tiefling toddler.
“DADDY!!”
His son’s terrified shriek ringing in his ears, Kashaw surged to his feet, spear in one hand, the other crackling with unholy holy energy as a rage he hadn’t felt since Vecna loomed filled him. He surged forward, pushing past and carving through the fools trying to stand in his way, never tearing his eyes from the man who still held Lucien, the stranger backpedaling and calling to his unfortunate fellows: “Death to the traitor; the Heir must be taken back to the Order!”
Those were the last words heard or spoken by the would-be attackers and their ringleader, as they had vastly underestimated both what Kashaw was capable of and willing to do under the circumstances. Scooping the now-sobbing but thankfully unharmed child into his arms, Kash let himself sink to his knees, clinging to his son as it washed over him all at once just how close he’d come to losing him.
Two tiny hands clung to his shirt and a little tail wrapped tightly around his arm as Lucien trembled in his grasp, but Kash’s blood ran cold as he glanced at one of the fallen attackers and saw a familiar symbol around his neck—
—the same one he carried. Her symbol.
----------------------
They’d spoken of an ‘Order’: the assumption had to be made that this—this cult of Vesh’s had other groups, other members who’d try to attack them again.
No.
No, neither Kash nor Zahra were about to sit back and simply wait for followers of a dark goddess to try to kill them and abduct their son—and their friends weren’t about to let them take on this fight alone.
They chose to relocate to Whitestone at Vex’s insistence until the danger had passed (it was the safest place both to use as a base of operations and to leave Lucien with the de Rolo children under Vex and Trinket’s watchful eyes when the ‘hunting party’ left to chase down one clump of enemies or another), and had the full arsenal of Vox Machina, plus the unexpected but welcome assistance of an apparently now adventure-ready Cassandra, to call upon in their hunt—even Taryon and his crew, when a fragment of Her cult was found (and subsequently annihilated) in Wildemount.
But at last, after a long year of rumor-chasing and fighting cultists, the last member of the last holdout was dead, and Kash still had 3 of his 5 ‘Speak with Dead’ questions left, and plenty of time on Pike’s ‘Zone of truth.’ Why not tie up a few lingering loose ends?
“What was your interest in my son, Lucien?”
The dead man’s expression didn’t—couldn’t—change. “At first, we thought that child was the Heir that She had whispered of. We came to realize that he is nothing more than the usurping spawn of the woman who took Her place with you—and sought to kill you all.”
Was it possible to kill a dead man again? Kash was tempted to see—so was Zahra, if the lashing tail was any indication—but there was still something important here. “What heir did ‘She’ speak of?”
“A child born of Her spirit and your mortal blood, who we were to find and raise and teach and train until the day when She could use their blood and nature to come fully into the world.” If a corpse could emote, the broken, breathy voice would’ve been saturated by a sickening devotion. “That was our highest purpose—and the Heir’s.”
“And where is this Heir?” It was a long shot—if the cult had located this child (his child? He was still having trouble thinking clearly about that), then surely they would’ve taken them by now.
The corpse tensed, visibly fighting against the compulsion to speak—and to speak the truth—but divine (and ‘divine’) magics had already conquered its will.
“There were whispers—rumors—we were to investigate…a single life where there once was none, in the wastes where once She first displayed her power…”
Then the lifeless body fell limp once more, as all eyes turned to Kashaw as the cleric began to process what they’d just heard.
“Well, fuck.”
-------------------
The others had offered to come along on this final, unexpected leg of the hunt for Vesh’s cult, but Kash and Zahra had adamantly refused: this, this part was deeply personal.
They rested only a single night before traveling to the wasteland that’d once been Kash’s home so long ago, and little was said between them either that night, or through the next day’s wearying trek and search under grey, cloud-cloaked skies.
It was a barren, inhospitable place, now—not hard to believe it was cursed by an evil goddess of death—with no sign of shelter or permanent dwelling: hard to believe that anyone, much less some kind of ‘child’ was surviving there.
The thought had only just crossed Zahra’s mind when a flicker of movement caught the corner of her eye: something small and quick darting behind a nearby boulder. With a seemingly casual flick of her tail, the warlock alerted her lover before drifting slowly in the general direction of the large rock.
From behind it, there was the sound of hasty scrambling backwards, then what sounded like gravel and a small body falling a brief distance, followed by a muffled, barely-audible whimper of pain and fear. A child’s pain and fear, the mother knew, and whatever plans and assumptions she’d come there with, when she circled the boulder and saw the hidden drop-off perilously close behind it, a curled and pitiful, dirt-covered figure trembling at the bottom of the five-foot ledge, maternal concern over-wrote them all.
Carefully easing herself down the drop, Zahra knelt beside the child—the girl, she could see, now—murmuring the most soothing tune she could think of (it was a lullaby…in Infernal…) as she reached out to the rail-thin, dark-haired figure. The girl couldn’t be any older than seven, staring up at the tiefling woman with terrified, mis-matched eyes of teal and purple beginning to well with tears as she pressed back into the rock wall, cradling the arm that had to have been broken.
“It’s alright, little one,” Zahra whispered, switching to Common as she reached out again, palm up. “We can help you. He can heal you, and we can bring you somewhere safe, and warm and comfortable.”
Kash had joined them, and her words seemed to snap him out of staring at the girl and into motion to help. The girl eyed him warily as he knelt in front of her, glancing at Zahra before finally letting him touch her injured arm. The trifling’s nod and gentle smile (and the cleric’s spell which re-knit the cones and soothed the pain away) seemed to break through the child’s walls, and as she let fall the tears she’d been fighting back the whole time, Zahra scooped the girl’s too-small form into her arms, muttering a stream of ‘it’s alright’s’ and ‘you’re going to be okay’s’ in Common and Infernal.
Still cradling the child, Zahra met Kash’s troubled expression with a determined one. “No mother worthy of the title would ever leave a child alone in a pace like this. She’s ours now.” Then, gently stroking the head of dark hair now buried in her shoulder, she asked, “Do you have a name, little one?”
“Yasha,” a tiny, tear-choked voice replied.
Zahra kissed the top of the girl’s head, silently thanking her patron that they’d found Yasha before the cult had—this girl was so desperate for someone, she’d have been so easily misled, manipulated. “Well, Yasha Hydris, are you ready to come home?”

“How unfortunate. You got blood on my new tie.”
Mafia AU in which we, well, some of yours, meet some kiddos!~
“Why did you have to insist that I come along?”
Stellar sat by his sister Coraline on top of towels that were neatly placed and held down on the sand in the beach they were both in, as well as some others.
“Because you desperately need to get out more.”
“How come you didn’t force Roger to come?”
“I tried, but he was too stubborn so I let him go just this once. The stars know what he’s doing.” Coraline took a sip from her lemonade before setting it down to adjust her sunhat. “I suggested he allow me to bring the twins as well, but he said he’d rather take them to a new bakery or something.”
“There hasn’t been any new bakeries.”Stellar turned to his sister who gave a shrug, not really caring about the matter. Honestly, Stellar didn’t are as well, he understood that their brother was pretty damn weird,
“Children!” Coraline called out to her kids who were splashing around in the waves before stopping to look at her. “Don’t go too far in.”
The children replied to her before going back to their running and swimming, Coraline giving a small smile as she turned to her brother.
“So when exactly are we going to be leaving?” Stellar turned to her as well, grabbing his change of clothes, looking through his outfit. “I’ve got other things to do.”
“Such as?”
“Casino stuff.”
“Like?”
“Are you writing a book?”
“Many, yes. Some currently in the works.”
Stellar squinted his eyes at his sister which she noticed despite the shades he wore, and he saw how she gave him a smirk. He then turned to the water again as he heard voices talking near their location, and they seemed to be pretty familiar.
“I still don’t understand why you’re afraid of the water.”
“I have my reasons. So don’t expect me to go in with you.”
“Yes, yes, I know.”
“Oh no.” Stellar breathed out, clutching onto his clothes while trying to hide further into the large umbrella covering the siblings from the sun.
“Is it Boggs?” Coraline whispered, turning to look at her kids as she reached into her purse to grab something.
“No, worse.”
“Worse?” she squinted her eyes before standing up to check who it was was walking near their umbrella, and she gave a frown, then directing it to her brother. “Really?”
“Don’t you dare-”
“Is that you Maggie?” Coraline ignored her brother before the pair walking by stopped and turned around at the sound of her voice. “And Mr. Blackwood as well I see.”
“Oh, Ms. D’Vitt.” Vespers replied in surprise, deciding to approach Coraline. “Fancy seeing you here.”
“Same goes for you two.”Coraline nodded as the pair now stood in front of her. “Could you come out and say hello to the others?”
“Who are you talking to?” Maggie tilted her head, then turning to the side as a loud wave sounded resulting in a burst of laughter to ensue. Right then she spotted four kids, one absolutely soaked as the others laughed before comforting that child. They looked rather familiar, especially the blonde one.
Well, to my brother of course.”Coraline slyly smiled as a groan was heard from behind her, and Maggie as well as Vespers saw that Stellar crawled from out of under the umbrella before standing next to his sister.
Vespers’ smile soon disappeared at the sight of Stellar, especially since he was shirtless and...
“Close your mouth and stop drooling Vespers.”Maggie loudly whispered to Vespers who snapped out of it, turning to her with a glare as she nudged him.
“He wouldn’t be the first to gawk at Stellar in such a way.”Coraline turned to her brother who shot a glare at her. “Just as I doubt it’s the first time he’s gawked at Mr. Blackwood in such a way.”
“Coraline, I swear-”
“Wouldn’t you two care to join us?”Coraline ignored Stellar yet again. “We were just about to have lunch. We even have cannolis.”
“Oh, we’d rather-” Vespers started before Maggie stepped in front of him.
“Don’t mind if I do.” she grabbed walked by him and Vespers before Coraline followed after her, leaving the two men standing alone.
An awkward silence then ensued.
“So.”Vespers calmly started. “How are you doing on this fine day?”
“I was forced to come here, so what do you expect?”
“Well-”
“Children!” Coraline’s voice interrupted the two, both feeling relieved as they weren’t exactly forced to talk to each other any further. “Lunch time.”
Everybody looked towards the water as four children now shook their bodies, most likely trying to get rid of all the sand and water on them. While they came by, Stellar walked back to the umbrella and reached down to grab his clothes in a rush, though that caused him to drop a glass bottle that opened upon having contact with the ground. To Stellar’s dismay, its crimson contents spilled onto his clothes.
“How unfortunate.” Coraline picked up the bottle, closing it while Stellar looked at his clothes in disbelief.
“You got blood on my new tie! Mom bought that for me!”
“You spilled my pups’ afternoon snack. Now one of them won’t get to have any.”
“Wait, wait.” Vespers held a hand up, concerned about the now ruined tie but even more concerned at something that was mentioned. “Did you say blood?”
“Yeah , she sometimes carries around blood.” Stellar rolled his eyes before glancing at his tie, giving yet another groan.
“Blood? Why do you carry bottles of blood?” Maggie asked after having finished two cannolis, Coraline taking away the box so that no more would be eaten before the children arrived.
“For my pet sharks.”
“Excuse me, what?” Maggie’s eyes widened while Vespers’ full attention was now on Coraline.
“Pet, sharks?”
“We’re here mother.” a girl’s voice announced before everybody turned, seeing the four children from before which brought a smile onto Coraline’s features.
“Hello Lily, boys. Sit next to mommy.” Coraline motioned to the empty space next to her where it was expected for the kids to sit on, but to Maggie and Vespers’ surprise, they all attempted to sit behind Coraline. “What’s wrong?”
The girl leaned close to Coraline’s ear to whisper while the boys peeked at the new pair from behind Lily and each other.
“Oh darling, there really is nothing to worry about. They won’t hurt you.” Coraline reassured the child before placing a kiss on her hand. “Mommy will always keep you safe.”
Maggie saw as the girl turned to look at her with green eyes identical to her mother’s, but they held more innocence and shyness. So, Maggie gave a small wave at the girl who turned to whisper to the boys before eyeing her mother again.
“Maggie, Vespers. These are my children.” Coraline presented as they all sat next to her, trying to stay as close as possible to each other. “In order, Liliosa, Robyn, Rayden, and Dante.”
“Nice to meet you.” Maggie gave the kids a nice smile before Vespers slightly nodded, keeping his focus away from Stellar who was now behind the kids.
“Uh, hi.”
The twins of the group gave small waves before snuggling close to the others.
“Children, do eat up. You’ve been playing in the water all day.” Coraline then offered them some cannolis which brought smiles to all of their faces, even Maggie as she attempted to grab another. The box was snatched away by Stellar however, right before he grabbed a cannoli and took a bite out of it, keeping the box near him while Maggie gave him a glare.
“Mother, were you talking about the sharks before we came?” Lily asked before taking a bite of her cannoli.
“Yes darling.”
“Are we gonna go feed them?” Dante turned to Coraline, obviously excited.
“Well, we were. But we must go back home for another bottle of juice for them.” Coraline eyed Stellar who was too busy eating a cannoli. “Your uncle here wasted nearly an entire bottle.
“Coraline. I can call you that, yes?” Vespers called the woman who turned to him as the kids now gave Vespers plain expressions. “What kind of sharks are these? Where do you have them? How did you tame them?”
“Perhaps you two and Maggie would like to come and watch us feed them.” Coraline suggested with a shrug as the children turned to her in shock, not wanting this. At the same time, Maggie snapped around to give Coraline a terrified look.
“No, no, no. You can tell us about them, but nooo visiting the sharks.” Maggie shook her head before Vespers gave a scoff.
“Maggie, please-”
“I think Maggie’s right, only you guys should go and visit. Leave them alone, let them go their own ways.” Stellar butt into the conversation as he was now munching on a sandwich. “In fact-”
“They’re tiger sharks.”Coraline looked at Vespers. “They’ll eventually be found at the old aquarium which I purchased some time ago, as well as other shark breeds.”
“Fascinating.” Vespers nodded before he saw the children whispering to each other, Stellar attempting to listen in on their conversation which prompted them to keep quiet.
“Since people adore dumping their filthy trash in my waters, we give the sharks something much tastier to snack on. Sharks don’t enjoy the taste of humans.” Coraline glanced at Maggie who was actually listening in. “But these crave every drop of blood they smell, making sure to savor every piece of flesh they’re fed.”
“Like Robyn?” Rayden pointed to his twin with a giggle, receiving a smack on the arm from Robyn who had just finished eating his third sandwich. “Mom!”
“Boys.”Coraline looked at the twins who quieted down.
“We’re sorry.”they apologized before going back to doing their own thing, watching Lily grab two sandwiches. She then stood up, walking over to the area in front of Coraline where Vespers and Maggie sat.
Lily plopped down right next to Vespers, offering him a sandwich. He stared at her and the sandwich for a moment, eventually taking it from her with a quiet ‘thank you’. Vespers stared at it just a bit more and then at Lily again, noticing that as she bit into a sandwich she watched him, obviously expecting him to eat. So, Vespers took a bite out of the sandwich.
“Are you Mr. Blackwood?” Lily whispered to him.
“Yes, my name is Vespers.” he nodded before taking another bite of the sandwich which was honestly delicious, maybe Coraline had some personal chef making these.
“So, you’re the one who’s gonna marry uncle Stellar, right?”

@gcneralvaganov asked: 🌟 for Cassandra, 🌟 for Percy, 🌟 for Vesper, and 🌟 for any other de Rolo of your choice!
***
send 🌟 to learn what it is i am most proud of about my muse and their development
Okay this got super long for Cassandra alone, so I’m going to put it under a cut!
Cassandra:
Cassandra is easily my favorite character to play on here (not surprising, as this initially was going to be an rp blog for just her.) She's just so damn interesting – there's so much depth to her that's really fun to try to wrap around and dig into.
I think, in my portrayal, the thing I'm most proud of is all the groundwork I try to put into her. She's been through hell, and I never ever want her to become some sort of trauma porn – I want to do her character justice and dignity. So in order for her not to become that, there's a lot of questions I ask myself and try to consider for her whenever I'm writing her (especially in her canon verses.) How does what she's been through inform her physicality? How does she hold herself physically in certain situations and does she do certain actions subconsciously or consciously? How does her trauma inform the way she initially reacts to things, and does she try to correct herself in this situation or not? How does it inform the way she reads people and thinks of them? How does it inform the way she speaks to people, and what sort of language and phrases does she use in certain situations or others? What sort of behaviors has she learned as a result of her trauma? Which of these are automatic? Which are ones she's trying to unlearn? Does she have precautions and protocols she employs in certain situations, and what are they? What defense mechanism did they stem from? When does she realize what she's doing and when doesn't she? How does she view certain behaviors of hers that resulted as a form of her trauma?
And then there's her anger and guilt – two things that also make her so interesting of a character to play. So then I have to ask, at who is her anger placed and where has it been in the past? What sorts of grudges is she still holding? How does she feel about her own anger? How does her anger at certain other people manifest, and how is it different from person to person? How does it inform her speech in particular, especially towards that person? How does her anger at herself manifest? What does she hold herself guilty of and how has that changed depending on how much time has gone on?
And then on top of that she's so young. I always try to remember that she was only nineteen when Whitestone was liberated, and she had been under the captivity of the Briarwoods for five years.
I really do think that, when I write her, I do my best to address as many of these questions as I can, but I never want to just force my partner to just read endless paragraphs of “oh, my life is so horrible and I'm such a bad person, read all these traumas I'm thinking of right at this very moment.” As awful as it is, this is her life, and Cassandra's not the type to be throwing herself a pity party at every moment. (Even if she was, writing her like that would still feel disrespectful.) I try very hard to write about all these things with this sort of “hideous normalcy.” I don't want the reader to be thrown a bundle of traumas right into their lap; I want them to be reading my portrayal and then suddenly realize, “hey, wait a second, this is fucked up.”  I like to think that in my best writing for her, I achieve that, and that's what I'm most proud of in her development.
Percy:
Honestly, I think I'm most proud of the fact that I'm even giving him a shot at all? He's always who I'm most nervous about writing. He's such a complex dude, and a main character of a show with 115 4-hour episodes (and I haven't seen all of them yet), so there's a lot. And I know I have so much to improve upon when writing him. But I think I've got his physicality pretty well, and though I know there's so much room for improvement when it comes to his dialogue, there are some moments when I write it and I'm like, “yes, I got it today.” So I'm proud of that!
Vesper:
Vesper!! I'm most proud of her out of all the de Rolos I've created “from scratch,” since she just has such a personality and so much life. I never want any of my not-main-character de Rolos to become one-dimensional, and I think she's got the most depth out of any of them so far. Her modern aus are also on point. I'd like to explore her more in canon verses.
Oliver:
I'm honestly most proud of how fuckin' funny Oliver can be? Playing characters that are great “wits” has never been my forte, but I like to think I manage it with him.

ah — okay ! please bear with me as i TRY to put all of this into words. this is all subject to change as updates and more of this au is figured out ! there will be two folks whose muses will play a big part in this au, as most of the plotting has been done with them — that is lance, over at aquaeques, and shouta aiz, awa, over at erasaer, as well as some of my own muses: vesper arlo, lance m.cclain, over at victoryclaimed, and minako takahashi, over at fearminded.
please note that whatever information that is here about the villains is NOT public knowledge unless i say so ! what does that mean? it’s okay for you to know out of character, but there is no way your muses should know this information !!! this is super important, so please remember !
alright, onto the au:
izuku midoriya has been making quite the splash lately and people have started to take notice. some want him dead and out of the way. others? others can see the potential in him and want to use that for their advantage to achieve their own goals.
lance mcclain is a member of a top secret organization called VOLTRON that specializes in ops in both around the country and the world. NO ONE knows of their existence. there are five members ( BLACK, RED, GREEN, YELLOW, AND BLUE ) and they are led by allura, with coran as her adviser. lance is given orders to watch over izuku after all that’s happened with the league of villains, and in order to keep his cover, he gains the trust of izuku through aizawa. izuku immediately takes a liking to lance and the two quickly become close.
in the following months, the league of villains tries to attack izuku once again and it is in this time that izuku learns that lance is a part of VOLTRON and is BLUE. he swears not to say a word, and just when things start to settle again, izuku goes MISSING. many believe the league of villains to be behind it and go searching for him, but nothing turns up.
whatever trails they had go cold and izuku midoriya is just gone.
though the league makes the initial kidnapping, he is found but is continued to be kept hidden away. unknown to almost the entire world, lance is the one behind the kidnapping. the entire time he had been a villain playing a part to get closer to the last piece of his puzzle. lance, who was born leo, is the older twin to lance, who died when heroes couldn’t get to him. leo, grief stricken and angry at the heroes who failed to save his brother, took on his twins’ name and began his plan to destroy society ( we’ll continue to refer to him as lance from here on out – the only one allowed to ever call him leo is vesper ). on his journey, he met minako, who was more than willing to help overthrow the system.
through her, lance is reunited with childhood friend, vesper arlo, whom he believed to have died years ago with the rest of his family in a fire. it turns out that an old family friend ’ saved ’ vesper in the nick of time and raised him. unknown to vesper, arthur is the one who caused the fire that killed vesper’s family for the sole purpose of having vesper and his quirk all to himself, able to train it to make him the perfect assassin. vesper agrees to help lance with his mention whenever given the chance, but with lance being the sole living person that proves he had been happy once and feeling the embers of an old crush returning, he begins to spend more time with him.
this angers arthur as he does not want vesper to become distracted and attempts to kill lance in order to subdue vesper once more. it is then that vesper finds out what arthur had been hiding and kills him. after this, he joins lance in his mission.
between the two of them, they torture and use various methods to brainwash izuku. they tell him that no one came for him, that they were the only ones there for him. how could he rely on people who would so easily give up looking for him after only weeks?
months go by, no sign of izuku. some believe him to be dead, others hope that he is because there hasn't been any sign of him.
not until now, that is. if his mask were to come off, one could see that the izuku midoriya they knew was long gone. instead, in his place stood SAI, a boy who only listened to the orders of ' nii-san ' ( what he calls lance -- no one but vesper and minako know who this is ). he returns causing havoc --- to show off his new skills and to show that the heroes had failed him.
' run and scream in fear ----
FOR I AM HERE. '
this is sai's outfit. it's a bit different from deku's in terms of the strap along his chest that holds super secret stuff, his belt is different, and instead of a smile on his mask, it has sharp teeth. . . and he's covered in blood. while he may respond to DEKU, IZUKU, or MIDORIYA, he will argue that those names or no longer his and he has left them behind. sai has no problem with hurting and/or killing people ! please keep this in mind !
this is all a lil confusing and it jumps in a few places bc i honestly forgot what we had decided on lmao but this'll be updated when/if i remember.

A question, what can you tell me about fairy tale AU Stellar and how might he react to meeting a certain moth fairy? X3
From the stuff that I’ve told y’all...
Stellar is going to be an air elemental I guess you could call him, but he obviously has...space-ish powers...I guess...I’m still having a hard time explaining this but let’s stick with air elemental for now
Very flirtatious with anyone who crosses his path I would say, will most definitely flirt with Vespers, especially because Vesp is someone he would be genuinely attracted to. His flirting doesn’t go to the same level as Slasher AU Stellar’s though. This guy would actually end up a bit shook if someone were to hit back.
Always bare chest, never wears a top honestly(and he’s never cold so it’s perfect)
More of things he never does, sleep. Doesn’t need it but he could sleep if he wanted to, which he doesn’t. Sometimes he will take a nap though
Unlike Coraline, he’s not afraid to show what he truly is, so he’s always in his half-form and can be seen floating around often. He’s pretty well known and despite being a flirt...he’s not the type to exactly go around. He’ll flirt but that’s about it
Doesn’t have any set places where he “rests” I guess, like no real home, he tends to just hang out wherever his siblings are, they travel together if one decides to move out
He’s more ladi-back than OG Cosmos ever was in the beginning, protects his siblings but he’s definitely not over-protective. However, people don’t know that they’re siblings because Coraline doesn’t want people knowing who she is, so they are strangers who coincidentally are always in the same spot
Hmmm...not sure what else to say, but if you need anything specific please do ask :3
