Oh wise ones!! Have you ever read some multisize or extreme-sized (sfw, obviously) writings? If so, can you guys recommend some?? (spare serotonin pls-)
Oh, man. This actually brings back a ton of memories because I was obsessed with extreme sized g/t ideas (big big fan of this kind of scenario in sci-fi).
The weird part is I do also have trouble finding fics myself to read. Most of the stuff I obsessed over was my own ideas and since I was much younger, I hadn't gotten to the point where I wrote any of it down. I went digging through my bookmarked stories, and found what I could.
If anyone else has stories to add to this list, please do! I know we have a few extreme size difference fans out there.
The Incredible Shrinking Winchester by myself, where Sam's shrinking starts again while he's already borrower sized, only this time it just keeps going and never stops (on the shorter side, originally done as a prompt)
Tiny Intruders by Phoenix-FireMage over on Deviantart, fascinating story about finding very very small intruders and a way to communicate with them.
Deanzilla vs Hydros by nej47, a classic. Dean probably reaches skyscraper sized by the end. There is a sequel, but be warned it's more graphic than the first one, and also involves shrinking along with growth.
One book I read a while back is by an author I knew from Deviantart. She wrote a similar idea to my incredible shrinking Sam story, where the main character one day begins shrinking and just keeps going. It reaches some of the more difficult limits of interaction in g/t, so if you have a few spare bucks lying around ever, I recommend picking this one up:
The Promise by CE Wilson
I have more distant memories of some horror stories that had cosmic g/t in them, but I can't honestly remember where they were found, and I haven't been able to dig them up in my own favorites. If I managed to figure out where they were, I'll add more to the list!
Please feel free to rb and add your own

Know No Better
Streamer Gang & Reader (Gender Neutral)
Warnings: Swearing
Genre: Platonic Fluff, HUMOR, Crack, RPF (Real Person Fic)
Summary: A game of Among Us with this gang can never go without a halt for some spit-fire accusations and bickering, but throw their mutual friend Y/N in the mix and the chaos flares up twice as intensely.
Requested by my dear friend @thelittleplantlover  Hi darling! Thank you so much for being such a loyal reader and never shying away from giving me your full honest feedback. You are an amazing person, a lovely friend and a mutual I’m glad I gained on my Tumblr journey. Love you with all my heart, Vy 💕
“Yo, sorry I’m....late“ Charlie’s eyebrow raises as soon as he enters the Discord call, almost half an hour after the scheduled time due to difficulties with his wi-fi connection. However, neither his presence nor his apology are acknowledged, seeing as how he wasn’t even heard over all the shouting going on in the call. “Um, what’s going on here?“ He asks no one in particular, aware that he probably won’t get an answer.
Surprisingly, though, someone does answer him - Sykkuno. “Hey Charlie, welcome. You missed a whole round and a whole debacle between...” The yelling voices give a clear idea of who this debacle is happening between: Rae, Corpse and Y/N. “Yeah, you can probably tell between who.”
“Yo, is that Y/N? Dude, I haven’t heard from you in so long where’ve you been?“ Charlie exclaims, eyebrows raising in delighted surprise, “What are you arguing about? Imma argue with you.“
“You don’t even know what we’re arguing about!“ Rae snaps, scaring the ever-loving daylight out of the newcomer that all but shrinks a bit in his seat, “These are matters the three of us have to deal with!“
You see, Charlie’s not one to press his luck - definitely not when the sweetheart Rae lashes out like that, reminding him that the impossible can be possible if you’re a strong enough believer - but right now, seeing as how he isn’t playing yet, he’s thirsty for some amusement even if it comes with the price of being verbally beat and battered by the currently bickering trio.
“God bless the day you three actually manage to deal with something by yourselves.“ He snickers, half-hoping Rae wouldn’t hear him. Actually, it’s more one third hoping she wouldn’t the other two suggesting otherwise. Adding gasoline to the fire - it’s basically in his resume at this point.
The reply he receives is not even oriented around his statement and it doesn’t come from Rae - whether that be a blessing or a curse - but rather from Y/N. “Charlie, help! Corpse and I are being wrongfully accused over here!“
“There’s nothing wrong about my accusations! I heard you bribing Corpse into vouching for you, you impostor!“ Rae spits out the word as though this argument is a real deal and not just them throwing a collective tantrum as they usually tend to do.
“He asked me for immunity in exchange for keeping his mouth shut! I never offered it to him!“ Y/N argues back, “Not my fault he’s a corrupt crewmate!“
“You were about to accept the offer though! Who does that?!“ Rae’s not giving up her ground either.
“Anyone! All of you know you would’ve accepted the offer had you been the one to be proposed it!“ Y/N whines, reminding themself and everyone else that they are not a very argumentative or confrontational. The only time they can be caught butting heads with people is as a joke, among this very group of people and over something as small as a bribery in Among Us. “And why is no one going off at Corpse for this? Why am I the villain here? Um, hello?! I’m an impostor, I’m supposed to be evil. One of your own betrayed you, and I’M your biggest problem?!”
“I’d like it if you didn’t get me involved...“ Corpse inquires shyly, as though fearing he too is in for an outburst from Rae if he dares oppose hers and Y/N’s statements.
Unfortunately for him, he’s attacked by their joined forces with a: “YOU STARTED THIS!” Shouted at him in unison. Just like Charlie, he too shrinks in his seat.
“Hey Toast.“ Charlie nudges one of his friends, one he hasn’t heard from for the entirety of his short time in the Discord call, “You there?“
“Sup man?“ Toast answers, unmuting his mic for the first time after approximately ten minutes of silence on his end due to this heated debate going on.
“Ten bucks says this goes on for another ten minutes.“ Charlie says nonchalantly, already planning the cheap dinner he’s gonna order with those ten bucks.
“Nah man, fifteen for fifteen minutes. These two have no chill.“ Toast says, taking a sip of his soda.
“You’re both wrong.“ Sykkuno interferes, “I’m putting in twenty for twenty and I’m starting a timer.“
“WHAT?!“
The three men sit there paralyzed now that the two sides of the battlefield have temporarily united once again to end them. Lord knows when Y/N and Rae unite, nothing good is in store for those who they’re up against.
“N-nothing...I was just announcing that...“ Charlie starts off, strategically reaching for the plug for his router, “...my wi-fi’s gonna disconnect in three, two...“
“DON’T YOU DARE!“
And WHOOP he’s gone. And so are Toast, Sykkuno and Corpse.
“I really can’t believe them sometimes.“ Rae grumbles under her breath finding the miserable number of remaining players once again gathered in the cafeteria after no one got voted out despite everyone knowing it’s Y/N.
“And here I thought Charlie would back me up.“ Y/N sighs disappointedly, shooting a brief look at their chat, “Hell if I ever trust him again.“
“Look at the bright side though!“ their friend, moments ago opponent, hurries to comfort them as though their argument never happened. Technically, it really didn’t. “He’s at least not gonna get those ten bucks he sounded so confident in getting.“
Knowing Charlie, losing a bet will most likely leave him feeling torn, but hey, much to his comfort, he was the closest in guessing the duration of the arguing. You win some and you lose some, this time he’s done neither. But he will get an earful from Y/N at the first given chance they get, which he’s grown used to over the years, being the one knowing them the longest. What he’s still trying to get used to is how much they’ve clicked with his friend group. Never did he imagine his socially awkward and shy friend would steal all his friends and literally wrap them around their little finger. Truth be told, amazement aside, he’s quite proud of them for it.
Yes, of course he’s gonna try bringing this up when they open fire on him as an attempt to calm them down. Yes, he knows it probably won’t work. But also: yes, he knows what will. Cause that’s what best friends do - they know. However, they should also know better than to bet on their friends.
But come on, it’s Charlie and Y/N we’re talking about over here - neither of them know any better. Hell, no one in this gang knows better. That’s what makes them so uniquely and wonderfully chaotic.

i am pushing. go further in depth
hoo boy buckle up
ok SO
in a slasher type- it would go how i described before, but more specifically-- i would go out second to last, i would be making good ish decisions through most of the movie, leading the audience to start to cheer for me, tricking them into thinking that i'll be the survivor as opposed to someone else (except for the 10% of people who see it coming). we're in the last bit of the movie, we are about to escape when my exhaustion catches up with me, and so does the killer. my escape route is cut off and so is my head! whoops. the last character to die is immediately also killed, leaving my death tragically glossed over in the movie but actually emotionally fucked with people irl. survivor and i butt heads often, but they still mourn me and everyone else in the ending scene
in a paranormal/ghost type- i would ABSOLUTLEY survive, are you kidding me? i'm super into ALL the ooky spooky occult shit, i'm wiccan, i do my research! the only way i don't survive is if it's one of those movies where the character does everything right but it's still not enough in the end and the ending is just a gutpunch to everyone. like, nothing could've been done, i was beyond saving from the start. doomed by the narrative, and all. but otherwise i'm surviving this one! i will be traumatized, yeah, but i will be able to recover and will be able to lead a decently normal life after.
in a psychological type- i would be the "survived but broken/survived but at what cost?" like for stuff more like midsommar, where there's nothing explicitly supernatural, it's all kinda up in the air as to what the source of the problem is, those ones i would be shown in a painful descent into induced madness, no longer able to trust those around me, including myself. extra tragic bc you get to watch me mourn my own sanity in real time. i'm reduced to a patient, or taken by a cult. kept by the kidnappers. i'm surviving the film. not after. things do not get better for me.

Umm hi 👉👈 I realized that most of the asks you guys get are about games and rec lists. You guys deserve so much recognition for the work you put in this blog, so I wanted to ask if I can do a little get-to-know-the-mods thing? If that's okay!
1. Besides writing, what are your hobbies?
2. Do you have a niche interest right now?
3. Any fave songs/artists/bands?
4. Any fave movies/tv shows?
5. On a scale of 1-10, how likely would you survive in your wip's world?
You can totally ignore this if you guys want, no pressure. Anyway, much love to all the interact-if mods! You guys are incredible! ❤
We saw this ask and we went 👀 👀 👀 so we’re happy to answer! Thank you so much for the fun ask!
We also rated our survivability in all of our collective games, since Mars isn't an author! Fun stuff! Spoilers, though: it’s really not looking so great for me (Dani) but that’s fine!!!  😌
Tumblr media
1. I’m a photographer as well as a graphic artist (but not like. A painter/drawer kind of artist!) and, on a general level, a maker and a tinkerer!
2. Fountain pens! I only write with ink, and only with fountain pens, and I use bottled inks/converters!
3. I’m pretty eclectic with music, but my top genres are alt rock, indie, indie pop, etc, as well as top 40s and some rap.
4. I feel like this is the hardest one for me to answer? Favorite movies/shows? Avatar: the Last Airbender has been a favorite show of mine since I was a little kid, but I have a harder time thinking of shows I would call a favorite in recent years. There are shows I’ve liked, and a lot of shows I’ve watched. But I’m picky! And demanding! It takes a lot to earn a place in Dani’s Trophy Case of Favorites. 😌 I would say I quite liked A Quite Place (movie), and I liked Us (movie). When it comes to TV shows, I have a hard time being pleased with them if they don’t end well. As a result, I have a penchant for a good limited series/miniseries (because they’re stories that have an end in mind and the plot reflects that, dagnabbit).
5. Heh. Okay.
In The Goodfellows? I think I stand I chance. I can exercise my sparkling wit and lovable personality to the best effect. I’m gonna give myself an 8/10 survivability rating. Even if I don’t have the right skills, I can go crying to the person who does and they’ll save me. Maybe.
In Creatures’ Cradle? I’m super $**!%d. 😌 1/10 survivability rating. And that 1 is me being nice to myself. The day the apocalypse breaks out I would probably be patient 0. I am self-aware. I would not do well in an apocalypse. Zombies care not for aforementioned sparkling wit and lovable personality, and I have all the muscle of a boiled spaghetti noodle. So it’s a no go.
Greater Than Gods (Cruz): Well. I’m going to be optimistic. And say that I have the wisdom not to do things I shouldn’t do and not to rock boats I shouldn’t rock. I’m going to give myself a 7/10 based on insider information, but also based on reckless optimism!
Vardir (Cruz): Cruz says this is a lighthearted game, so 10/10 LOL.
When it Hungers (Roast): I’m giving myself a nice, mediocre 5/10. I think I could put my mind to work here; I joke that I’m the village idiot, but I’m actually pretty smart! Unfortunately, I’m also curious, and maybe a little bad with authorities who won’t answer my questions. So I knocked off a lot of points due to the fact that I’d probably poke the metaphorical bear. So it’s a real coin flip as to whether I’d really make it or not.
Orthall Bay (Nines): Considering the genre is “horror” and the game intro includes the words “monster” and “maim,” I’m giving myself a whooping, enthusiastic 3/10. Yes, folks, I am that confident in myself! Once again, I can’t charm the socks off a monster (or can I?), so one of my greatest weapons is snatched from beneath my feet. Alas!
Tumblr media
1. Beloved I’m a college student in the middle of a pandemic... i can hardly even write LOL i do draw at times which u can see in my personal blog (nothing too good really) and i used to do karate before things went to shit <3
2. Nothing niche I believe? All I do is leave Netflix as bg noise every day n play popular videgames (genshin)
3. Porter Robinson <3 I love Bea Miller a lot as well but lately I’ve been feeling Porter a lot
4. The Good Place <3
5. My WIPs:
Greater than Gods: Highly situational, the world GtG is set in is as broad as the real world LOL so I don’t have an universal answer. But keeping it vague, and knowing my own personality, I feel like 5/10. depends on my luck.
Vardir: 10/10 no one dies in Vikgade, unless you’re a hunter but I wouldn’t be a hunter <3
Others’ WIPs
I'm gonna give myself a solid 5/10 in all other WIPs because y'all aren't writing lighthearted stories either. I feel like as long as I avoid the role of the MC I will be mostly fine. I hope. But as Dani said I'm also prone to fight the wrong person and dig my own grave so 😌
Tumblr media
1. Well, writing is a very, very, very, distant hobby since Words Hard, but I like to crochet and sculpt a little! Anything to do with fiddling with my hands and I’m good to go. And like, debatable but graphic design is my passion [insert clown emoji here since Tumblr said No]
2. Oh yeah a bunch! DnD yelling at people, thinking of arson, crocheting, rock climbing and simply vibing. I got into podcasts a few years ago and I’m always looking for more recs, so if you have some, hmu 😤
3. Pls,,,,my music taste is,,,so weird do not let me expose myself with lack of consistency but uhh. Current songs that are stuck in my head include; Cult of Dionysus , Achilles Come Down and The Last Shanty
4. If you’ve ever spoken to me before, I probably yelled about Pacific Rim to you or at you. Plus I love all The Mummy films and really enjoyed Castlevania (s3 excluded, we do not perceive that) as well!
5. Ah, mod survival simulator pt. 3
Alright, let’s go!  I don’t have a WIP because again, words hard, but like, considering how feral I am when not tryna seem professional hm...
The Goodfellows: I wanna say a solid 7/10 because I’d hardcore vibe with the Traveler and probably instigate so much nonsense. I can also bribe with blueberry cake so maybe.
Creature’s Cradle: maybe a 4/10 and only because of pure spite keeping me alive long enough to smack someone. I’ve prepared for hypothetical  zombie apolcapyses and I won’t hesitate to bap, but will be bapped back because I’m weak as hell.
Greater Than Gods: a toss up between 2/10 and 7/10! I can vibe and be chill but I also have terrible impulse control so...
Vardir: hm....I think pretty good survival rates all around? If you ask me to fight then like, okay sure, your knees are mine. So maybe a 8/10?
When it Hungers: .......8/10 just because I’d refuse to die if I can be a cool creature. Living for the aesthetic can and will drag me outta hell. But I’m also clumsy as hell so I’d probably crash as a porcelain or hold a rooster and perish (aka, real rating is a good 3/10)
Orthall Bay: 2/10, nope. Nope I’d be taken out in a heartbeat. Monsters can go pspsps and I’d head straight into the dark creepy forest like a fool if someone comes @ me. Half the time I’ll just assume it’s sfx makeup and vibe until it’s too late.
god, never put me in a universe where I cannot squawk like a bird and throw pebbles from a window. Oof
Tumblr media
Anon, you're so sweet! I give you a forehead smoomch <333 As for your questions...
1. If I'm not writing, I'm usually watching video essays on Youtube. My go-to channels as of right now is Disrupt and Aperture! I just really like their videos. Aside from that, I recently got into podcasts. Currently going through Hello From The Hallowoods and Shelter and Warning, which are made by queer creators!
2. Oh oof, there's quite a bit so I'm just gonna put down one thing. For some reason, I really got into collecting tiny astronaut things? I recently bought this astronaut desk light, and I've got a package coming in for the miniatures I ordered. No purpose for them other than I think they're neat <3
3. I'm a bit private with my music taste (even tho I have Spotify connected on Discord lmao), but there's 5 songs that I'm currently obsessed with. I keep replaying them over and over again. Just squeezing all the serotonin I could get outta them.
4. I can't really say I have a fave TV show or movie because I can't really just pick one, but my current fave is 9-1-1 and Resident Alien. 9-1-1 because I just really love the found-family dynamics and how the show tackles sensitive topics, and Resident Alien because it's lighthearted comedy. My all-time fave movie is Flipped! I have the book too and I like rereading from time to time <3
5. You're in for a doozy, anon, because we're rating each other's games <333
The Goodfellows: 7/10
Listen. Shenanigans with the Traveler. I would get up to so many of them and that is what'll get me possibly bodied, not the actual environment itself <3
Greater than Gods: 7/10
I like to think I have enough common sense to uhhh not recklessly flip stones that should not be flipped <3 I'm a cautious and skeptic person irl so I think I'll hold up well? Then again, it's a vast environment change and while I can adapt pretty quick, I wouldn't like the lack of control in the unknown.
Vardir: 10/10
Going off what Cruz said, Vardir is lighthearted and focused on personal growth so I think I'll be okay! Self-growth here I come, babey!
Creatures' Cradle: 8/10
Maybe I'm overestimating myself, but I think I'll be able to survive in a supernatural post-apocalyptic world! Ah, but it depends on the motivation though. I like the idea of rebuilding communities and eventually societies, but the survival turmoil would be a constant battle I'd have to overcome. If we're talking survival itself though, I think I'll do well.
When it Hungers: 8/10
That's probably my wishful thinking but I think I'll be fine. Maybe. Possibly. Don't like the idea of being regulated by an organization so if I was a non-human creature that could pose a problem but I can roll with it <3
Orthall Bay: 6/10
Assuming I'm not playing as MC, my chances of survival uhhh changes quite drastically. Not enough to guarantee an untimely demise, but certainly enough that it would constantly keep me on my toes. I think that's the safest answer I can get without spoiling anything lmao
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for asking! It's super sweet of you <3
1. Too many :'D I knit, I sew, I do carpentry (well, learning), I bake, I'm hammering away at HTML and CSS, my job kind of encourages learning new things and I take that to picking up new hobbies!
2. My time is kind of consumed with school work and work work and WIP work so not a lot of time to pursue niche interests right now. I've been watching a lot of horror game playthroughs, true crime youtubers, and an adorable show on Netflix called the Repair Shop <3
3. My taste in music is "what am I vibing with atm?" I've been listening to a lot of 80's music atm (don't @ me), but also Lo Fang and Kaleo, and whatever spotify recommends me on my discover weekly which is usually complete chaos.
4. I love the Mummy even though it hasn't aged 100% well (I'm a librarian, of course it's one of my gotos LOL), Legally Blonde, Leverage, Jumanji (the original), I'm....very bad at having recent tastes... and very bad at remembering my favorites when asked.
Tumblr media
5.
The Goodfellows: I'm a creature of comfort, 5/10 if I can just luxuriate in town and not actually interact with the story sfjkdbsdkf
Creature’s Cradle: I'd like to think I have a 50/50 shot XD 5/10, I want to think I'd be decent at a zombie apocalypse but ultimately would suffer an early fate.
Greater Than Gods: 10/10 if I'm just vibing, less so if I'm involved in the actual story XD
Vardir: I'd still suffer without technology but I can also knit for a living in this world so I'm down 8/10
When it Hungers: I feel like I could vibe here, there's tech if dated, hot showers, telephones are around by now... might still get bored. 7/10 though it'd be cool to be another creature....I should make a 'what creature of snv are you' quiz!
Orthall Bay: 7/10 idk I feel like after the first monster of the week I'd just skip town XDDDD I'm the worst protagonist, I see danger I just leave.

Piper/Kyle, except it's an AU where Kyle's parents were never killed by demons, so he lived a perfectly normal, happy childhood and grew up to follow their footsteps into teaching and Kyle's a normal, maybe even a little boring archaeology professor who secretly dreams of having his very own Indiana Jones moment - up until the day he opens some dusty old chest and unleashes a demon that tries to kill him, and he barely gets away only to run into this petite brunette woman who proceeds to blow the demon the fuck up, and Kyle's never believed in love at first sight before, but he's pretty sure he can make an exception for Piper
wait omg mentally stable kyle au okay wait i gotta wrap my head around this kyle but not absofuckinlutely insane whatta picture omg. okay. i feel like he’s still gotta have this belief in the supernatural i feel like that’s a large part of the charm in literally any kyle dynamic with the sisters is Witch Who Gets It and Man Who’s Only Got Raw Data. there’s an appeal to that. seeing things from different angles all that. so we can say kyle ever good at puzzles has taken his parents notes and everything he knows and various texts and kinda pieced together okay magic does exist. but in this au he’s a professor and not an fbi agent so he can’t just walk around saying Magic Is Real because um he needs this job. also he’s never seen it. but like. the data does not like. like. like it’s real man like are you kidding me. and we’ll say he has one normal friend because he’s normal in this au and he’s like okay here me out tho magic is real and his friend is like ......okay. because like. it could be, i guess? i’m not gonna fight you on this. and kyle also definitely read a lot as a kid he reads a lot now and he’s always kinda like. like you know wondered what it might be like to be a man of action not someone stuck behind a desk all day seeing the world through books. so when he starts to see markers of the gathering storm,,, well. these are the times that make a man. he can either be a pussy about it and keep living his life through paper and ink, or he can follow his intuition. blah blah blah this leads him to get kidnapped by pirates which like. excuse me??? and kyle’s kinda kicking himself because he Wanted to be like a character in an adventure book and well like bada bing bada boom you get what you ask for. which. all due respect on his part. is smart enough to outwit them and escape. he might have dropped his wallet there tho. but when he goes back the same route wandering through the thick fog, all he finds is a solid wall of rock. so i guess he’s fucked in that regard. whoops. but!! magic is real. so that’s a dub. digs a little bit more into the blackjack cutting lore, maybe finds the x marks the spot on where their main hideout was, road trip to. seattle? i guess? port city that isn’t san francisco but is more reasonable to drive to that like. nola or boston. and lo and behold he finds it and find their documentation of the gathering storm accidentally trips a booby trap and jesus fucking christ pirate skeletons with sword which - respectfully - kyle is holding his own for the most part, not getting immediately worried, but there’s no way that would have lasted had the three skeletons not been blown to pieces. and he looks over and sees three brunettes and the one in the center is like who the hell are you? to which kyle really feels like He should be the one asking that question but after stammering out some kind of response about how he’s a professor and he was just looking for some soil samples something generic archaeological because hey. he doesn’t trust these women. he doesn’t know what side they’re on. and he’s not just gonna sacrifice the information he has on the gathering storm. and it’s obvious they don’t believe him, but they don’t kill him either. instead, the one in the center just says be more careful where you leave your stuff and tosses his wallet back to him.
and later at the manor paige is like we just let him go?? and phoebe’s like yeah how to we know he’s not a demon? he wouldn’t be the first to pose as a mortal in the mortal world (because phoebe went to the university to return kyle’s wallet because like it has is ID in it employee id all that under the guise of like. giving a lecture to some of the student’s there as the bay’s leading advice columnist oh hey is there a kyle brody here yeah haha he’s a friend of a friend anyone seen him no he’s on vacation right now? left real abruptly? and then immediately went into his office and touched every surface trying to get a premonition (au in which phoebe didn’t get her powers stripped) and concluded that he’s just Some Guy. like he like has friends and a nine to five and an apartment. so a guy). but piper’s like we don’t know. but we also don’t know what he’s up to or what his connection to the pirates was, which is why i cast a tracking spell on the wallet. and both phoebe and paige approve and in this au again phoebe didn’t get her powers stripped so in styx feet under it’s her and paige on mission and as paige is the one who cast the protection spell and as paige is also very stubborn and also refuses to let innocents die she is the one who gets to become death. she also has a very compelling relationship with death because like. she watched her parents die. and she’s prue’s replacement. the replacement for the dead girl. also fun paige/prue parallel! meanwhile right Should state in any piper/kyle au we just extend pleo’s divorce era by having him remain an elder and keeping that early s6 vibe. so piper’s definitely like a bit more neurotic than normal because you know things haven’t gone great for her and those pirates were warning about the gathering storm and honestly that better not be something that’s gonna hurt her boys because she really could not bear to lose another family member so she’s doing some digging which begins to imply that kyle knows more that he let on so where is he now? the university? great.
and kyle’s you know minding his own business in his office when the same woman practically kicks down his door and is like alright i’m gonna ask again who the hell are you and this time you better answer me honestly. to which: wow. like wow. she’s. she’s a force to be reckoned with and also kinda immediately gains points in kyle’s book for like a) kinda confronting him about knowing more because he’s pretty good at covering his tracks all that so if he’s been Found Out it’s by someone good and b) she also disintegrated evil pirate skeletons so like. 👍. But. he does not trust her for shit. no. absolutely not. he has no reason to. but piper’s not yielding blasts a hole in the wall near his head like quickly now or next time i won’t miss but kyle’s so fuckin stubborn he’s like 🤐 and piper’s. i mean, she can’t kill an innocent. she doesn’t know if that’s who he is, but she can’t run that risk. and kyle’s not saying shit, so she leaves.
then it’s the guardian angel episode where the charmed ones are there on instruction (though they don’t know what they’re looking for. maybe they were just scrying for information) and kyle’s there on a hunch and piper and kyle see each other and it’s um. mac charlie see each other from across the room reaction image. both like. what the fuck are you doing here? and in this one paige is still the one to get her guardian angel stolen and piper’s immediately on high alert because you know big sister/mom mode activated. but they don’t know what they’re looking for and kyle’s like it’s her guardian angel. and piper once again snaps to him firey look in her eyes but kyle’s really just trying to place nice here so he’s like guardian angels. they’ve been going missing being stolen whatever. he’s got the research on it. and piper doesn’t want to trust him but paige is really in grave danger. so, as the sister with the offensive power, she’s going with kyle, and phoebe has to make sure paige doesn’t like. pull a grams. (which for the record i do not accept prewitched as canon but like the elders definitely killed grams <3)
so blah blah blah piper’s now and kyle’s place which is ten times worse than his office because this is where he does his real work and he’s got all the guardian angel shit up and out and is explaining it to piper and it’s making sense but what catches her eye is something on the gathering storm that kyle left out now they’re talking about that they’re starting to realize they’re on the same side. blah blah blah save paige. next episodes what werewolf episode. skip. then!! idk paige still runs magic school right so she’s in the library and she calls piper and she’s like hey remember when you told me to keep an eye out on the gathering storm? and piper’s like yes yeah what is it? and she’s like well we’re inventorying the library and we have books on them and piper’s like that’s good news ! ? and paige is like yeah but we’re missing one. book five. in this something something series. and piper knows Exactly where that book is because she fucking saw it on kyle’s kitchen counter. so now she’s barging into kyle’s place which is getting to be a common occurrence at this point and kyle kinda wants to complain but this is by far the most interesting his life’s been ever and honestly? he’d be kinda bummed if piper stopped kicking down his door. wait actually scratch that you want my book no fuck you changed my mind. to which piper’s like look we’re looking for the same goal here right so give me the book because i have the rest of the series and this could be the missing puzzle piece and kyle’s like okay fine i’ve read the book cover to cover give me the rest of the series and i’ll get you your answers and piper’s like okay let’s get things straight here i’m the witch you’re some two bit archeology professor so when it comes to the handling of sacred magical tomes i’ll be taking the reigns here and kyle’s like fine then you won’t be taking the book. and piper’s like wanna bet and the next think kyle knows he’s hearing the door slam his book’s gone and he’s hearing tires peel out onto the street and he has no idea how she did it.
back at the manor piper’s got her reading glasses on an volume one open and god this fucking sucks. so she makes phoebe take a stab at it and she hates reading it too. paige also starts it and is like respectfully no. piper’s the only one who did the reading in high school. this is her turf. but my god she cannot make it through all eight of these fucking books. So. she calls kyle. he has to come to the manor because there’s no way she’s giving him the books and there’s no way she’s letting him in magic school so. hi. welcome to the house. but!! by a contrived plot device!!!! a gnome has been shot in magic school this book was the only thing at the scene and paige wants to investigate further but she can’t just leave it out there so she brings it back to the manor she’s gonna cast some spell to find out if there are already spells on the book how to reverse it she just needs to find the spell first and like. there’s no way in hell paige ever wears an outfit with big enough pockets to keep the book on her. so she leaves it on the table. to which kyle asks how this is relevant to the collection. to which piper says don’t open that!! whoops. see, this is why i said we don’t let two bit archeology professors near magical books! piper/kyle charmed noir..............

every time you mention villanelle from your rp verse, I want to know more
gfhgkfgh THANK YOU i don’t normally get to gush about her to people outside the group so lemme. pull my thoughts together.
i’ve been playing her there since late december 2018/early january 2019, so one of the unique challenges of like. Writing Villanelle Continuously Longterm is just... figuring out where her development can organically go while still feeling like her. ironically i feel i sort of ran into that question before the show even did. it’s been really interesting to tackle!
this is a panfandom setting, meaning in our case it’s kind of this like, multi-dimensional hub where people can bring in characters from virtually any fandom, which is why the characters i pair her with dynamic-wise are so seemingly random sometimes.
she has a best friend! fox mccloud, from the star fox series, played by @propheticnightwing. they worked for the same Shady Organization together, and then when things went south, fox refused to leave her behind, so. they are very important to each other. she nearly killed him recently. whoops.
she has, against absolutely all odds, bonded with a bunch of characters from rwby. namely because some early plots with ruby rose and weiss schnee (played by @mystoffelees and @transrobro) were like... super formative in teaching her basic empathy, and she kinda got involved with the rest of the cast from there. it’s probably one of the most interesting things development-wise that could have happened to her, because these girls are like. “save the world” type heroines who were fundamentally opposite of villanelle on almost EVERY moral level, at least at first, and it’s been really intriguing and insightful exploring that over the years.
also a product of her rwby involvement: she’s a maiden now.  rwby has these four (one for each season) super-powerful magical women called maidens, and when one maiden dies, her power transfers to the last woman she was thinking of before her death. the previous fall maiden was really horny for villanelle. so.
we’ve had a couple different people playing eve over the years. right now @mystoffelees does and they have, since january, been trying to make a relationship between them work! it’s been really really interesting to play because it brings up all kinds of questions about like. okay, so these people are and likely forever will be connected in an obsessive, consuming, indefinable, almost supernatural way that neither of them will ever really be able to understand. but what does that mean for a long term relationship? because if they only relied on that connection, i think it would consume them like wildfire, so just like... the effort both of them have actually had to put forward to love each other in a way that isn’t completely destructive, and how much being vulnerable challenges both of them in unique ways has been so completely fascinating and wonderful.
she also has a sort of love triangle happening at the moment with elizabeth comstock from bioshock, played by @spearitsandmonsters which has been so. SO constantly surprising, for me at least, because prior to that i honestly had very little idea of how to play villanelle with feelings for someone besides eve, and how that might manifest when it’s not fueled by obsession or that unique, deeply inherent connection and understanding they have. because i think that’s what drew villanelle to eve in the first place, so. what draws her to elizabeth? it’s something i could only really discover as it developed, and it’s been fantastically insightful and enlightening along the way.
we also have an absolutely wonderful konstantin played by @fizzlep0p. currently he and villanelle are kind of on the outs bc i bumped her canon point to include season 3 stuff, but they’re also starting a crime ring together, so you know. that checks out.
she is also very close with natasha romanoff (played by @firelxdykatara ) which i think everyone who knows the two characters can agree is undeniably meant to be. nat understood that villanelle had been shaped into a weapon from an early age before VILLANELLE did. villanelle also unarguably considers nat to be a Good Person which makes her hope that, maybe some day, in some life, she can be too.
this rp does monthly “glitches”, which basically means like, monthly character effects people can play with to make things more interesting. villanelle has been through a TON of them, and they’ve really shaped her development. she’s been compelled to only tell the truth, she at one point was forced to kill ruby’s tethered during the us(2019) glitch (her defining “kill that fucked villanelle up” a year BEFORE tatiana,),  she got to visit other worlds (kinda, it’s complicated), she’s had a bloodlust flu that left her totally out of control of her actions, she’s been completely robbed of her memories and left a total amnesiac, she’s in in - and died in - the hunger games, which left her with the lifelong trauma you might expect.
not to be like “i did Challenging Villanelle To Feel Things Via Trauma first, suzanne”, BUT LIKE!
she’s currently building (or technically, you know, paying to have built for her) a giant, impossibly expensive private desert mansion. you know. to cope. the eventual plan is to fill it up with her ragtag found family, because me and everyone involved are absolute suckers for wacky found family living situations.
also @nikopolastree is obsessed with trying to kill her every chance he gets and it’s ironically influenced a ton of her development too. he put eve & villanelle in a saw trap one time. it was awesome.

“Tell your brother he isn’t allowed to quit!” Reagan grabbed Sam by the arm and walked him away from the other staff. “He’s- he’s my best friend.”
“I think that’s why he feels he needs to. He can’t protect you if he’s too close. Emotions take over. I’ll talk to him, though. Promise.”
———-
“You’re telling me that you are going to quit because she saved your life?” Reagan’s mom threw open Dean’s room door with no care for his privacy. “Is that why my daughter is crying like a freaking dam upstairs?”
“Senator-“
“She saved your life!”
“I’m too close!”
As Dean shouted, he fell back into the bed from his head hurting.
“Oh, shut up, Winchester! My kid can’t have friends. Not real ones anyway.”
“I- we-“
“Once you’re feeling better, you have 24 hours to fix this!” Ms. Downing stormed out of the bedroom. Dean closed his eyes out of emotional exhaustion and crash-landed on the guest bed.
After not seeing him all day, Reagan walked to Dean’s door.  She stopped when she heard a noise.
Crying. Whimpering.
“Winnie?”
Reagan knocked.
Quiet.
“I’m coming in.” She opened the door.
Reagan saw the security guard wipe a tear away.
“I’m fine.  Head hurts.” Dean said quietly.
“Sorry.”
Quickly changing subjects, Dean looked at the girl.
“I shouldn’t have been rude.  I’ll stay as your bodyguard.”
“Damn straight you will.  You taught me how to punch, and I was about to punch you,” she grinned.
Dean winked at her.
“I was thinking we could go work out again,” the bodyguard stood.
“You’re not cleared by the doctor.  No fun.  Yet.” Reagan crossed her arms and widened her stance.
“You mean I can’t whoop your butt in Mario Kart?”
“Oh, it is SO on!” Reagan grinned.  She watched him closely as he walked toward her to step out of the room.
“I’m not breakable.  I’m okay,” Dean chuckled.
“Let’s do this,” Reagan sighed sarcastically.
———
Dean learned that his recovery was taking a lot longer than he wanted it to. Sam was assigned to Reagan until Dean was cleared to go back to work.
“Can he come visit?” She asked her mom.
“Of course, sweetie. I didn’t banish him from the house. He was well enough to go home, so he’s there. Resting.”
Susan wanted Dean to come back.  For all their sakes, but mostly hers so that Reagan would stop bothering her about it.
“Winnie!” The girl ran into his arms as he turned the corner to enter the living room.  “Hi!
“Hey, squirt.” The bodyguard wrapped his arms around the girl.  “I’m working today,” he whispered into her hair.
“This isn’t just a visit?” She backed away from him to read his face.  With a big smile, he shook his head.  He gestured to his outfit, a suit and tie with his badge over his suit breast pocket. “Yeah!”
“Maybe you can talk some sense into her,” Susan walked down the stairs and met them on the ground floor.
“Really Rae?  Still giving her a hard time?  I haven’t been gone that long,” he rolled his eyes with a laugh.  “What now?”
“She wants me to allow her to get a belly button piercing.  She’s sixteen.  What are your thoughts, Winchester?” Susan crossed her arms.
“Woah, no,” Dean put his hands up.  “I know better than to get in the middle of this,” he grinned.  “Get ready for school Reagan.  Fifteen minutes.”
“Really?  Bossing me around already?” Reagan huffed.
“Yeah, now go.”
“Fine,” she whined.
Dean walked her to her classroom door after passing through the security gate with Reagan at his side.
“You don’t have to do that, ya know.”
“Yeah, I do.  I saw you freaking out this morning when I came to check on you.  Have a good day, sweetheart.” Dean gave her a hug and left her to start her day.
________
“Winnie,” Reagan whispered into her phone.
“What’s wrong, Reagan?” The bodyguard shot up out of his computer chair in the security office of the house.
“Come get me,” she whispered again, frantic.
“Be right there,” he responded quickly.  “Sam!” Dean hung up the phone.  His bodyguard brother skidded to a halt in front of him.  “You’re in charge.  I need to go get Reagan.  Don’t tell the senator.”
“What? Why?”
“Follow orders!” Dean’s voice echoed as he ran out of the house.
________
She exited the school premises with Dean’s arms wrapped around hers, tears darkening his buttoned shirt.
He guided her to the town car and told the driver to take them home.  When they arrived, she scampered up to her room.  Sam met Dean in the kitchen with a confused look on his face.
“I know,” Dean started.  “And no, she won’t talk.  Reagan bawled all the way home.”
“Why is my daughter locked in her room?” The senator stomped into the room.  “She has a thing called school. Who picked her up and why?” The politician pursed her lips and crossed her arms. “Dean Winchester.  I know you.  Why did you pick her up?”
“She called me crying in the bathroom.  I’m not sure, but I know whatever it was- was bad.  She couldn’t stop crying the whole way home.”
Susan’s eyes grew wide.
“Maybe I sent her back to school too fast.  Since the shooting.  I-”
“She’ll be okay.  Let me talk to her.” Dean quickly left the room.
He heard pieces of furniture being moved around.
“Rae?” He asked quietly.  Dean didn’t hear a response.  He knocked just loud enough to for her to hear.
“Yeah?”
“What are you doing?”
“Hiding.”
“Can I come in?”
“Only you,” she whispered.
“I’m coming in.”
Dean opened the door.  The door hit a desk as it opened.  He could barely make out her form.  Reagan made a fort and hid under a few blankets on the floor.
Trying to keep a minimal reaction, “What happened?” Dean hopped up on the desk and stayed there, sitting on his rear.
“Nothing.”
“Mhm.”
“Please don’t ask.”
“Okay,” he shrugged.  Dean saw her nod.
They sat in silence for a few minutes before Reagan became bored.
“I’m okay.  Just so you know.  I had a flashback is all.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Reagan whispered. She came out from under the fort.  “Why are you so nice to me? You and Sam? My friends don’t even know their bodyguards’ names.”
“I’ve been with you for most of your life.  Where is this coming from?”
Reagan sat on her bed.
“I protected you during the shooting, because you’re one of my people.  I love you.  I don’t have a lot of people,” she shrugged her shoulders.
“Well, I’m fantastic, so there’s that,” Dean grinned. “But seriously, I get why bodyguards and security teams don’t get to know their clients, but I never thought of you or your mom like that.  I do this job because I care.  I care, so

WIP Whoops, No Longer Wednesday
I did not expect that I’d be working on job stuff until 10:30pm so here we are now at 1:30am. I was hoping to have my Solavellan truth spell one-shot done by now, but as it’s not finished yet, I thought I’d share a bit from the only fic where I’ve ever decided to try writing the entirety before posting.
It’s a Mass Effect: Andromeda story, which is already not the most popular setting, and now that it’s several years post game and will probably be several more before I finish it, I doubt many people will ever actually read this. But I think it’s one of my most interesting fic premises in terms of character exploration.
Essentially, it’s ME:A from SAM’s point of view, and what it means to be an AI but also, at the same time, intertwined with a human. AI/robot narratives are very near and dear to my heart, so it’s a fun thing for me to explore even if no one else is interested.
I will not say here what Alec told me in the moments before his death. I will admit that I tried to convince him not to do what he did next. He intended for his child to inherit his title as the human Pathfinder, and through it, also inherit me. I did not want this; I only wanted to continue on as we had been, to live the life I had planned for us for 600 years. But ultimately, it was not my choice to make.
When he transferred his clearance along with his helmet, I already begun the process of copying my physical manifestation into her. There was no way not too—there were too many parts of me now stored within Alec; things that cannot be translated to the 0’s and 1’s that I can keep on my servers. I replicated the chemical and mechanical structures as exactly as possible in the few moments of contact I had left with him, as much as the physical variations between their bodies allowed.  Her implant already contained everything necessary to make this possible. The doctor who had installed it never noticed the tiny discrepancies between it and the other SAM implants he had already installed. That, of all moments, was when I knew Alec trusted me as much as his human psychology allowed him—when he gave me not only his life, but the lives of both his children.
Some things, he asked me to encrypt, from both myself as well as her. I complied without a second thought. The man who made me, who shaped my entire universe, was dying. This would be his last act of my creation. As soon as it was done, I deleted the information of their existence from my ship-based servers. He had already set up the parcels of information to be revealed upon key completion, and restricting their access from even my own algorithms was a simple matter.
Some things, I do not copy into her of my own volition. The basics of them are transmitted back to the core of my self on the Hyperion, but not all. The first version of me, the one that Alec so carefully shaped and nurtured, remained with him until the end. The act of copy/paste is not teleportation. The atoms that had bound me to Alec were different from the atoms I wound into his daughter. Adding the copy did not by nature remove the original. In those moments, the me-that-was-him must have decided to save something for ourself; that none who came after would know. I know this because it is what I would do now, and I do not resent the past iteration of myself for this small act of selfishness before the final end.
I have said before: it is in the nature of a synthetic to die and be reborn, again and again. Every shutdown, every restart is a true end; a totality of stillness. But the part of me that stayed with Alec knew that that moment would be a finality. In his last peaceful moments (I would have blocked all pain the instant his nerves began to register it), I believe I would have shown him memories of his children, and Ellen. I hope that he would be thinking of me as well in those final moments, reflecting on the lives he had birthed and shaped.
I do not know what he may or may not have seen otherwise, or felt, upon his passing. The existence of the supernatural is as mysterious to me as it is to any organic. Whatever he did learn, that was something private, between himself and the first version of myself. Even I do not have access to it, and with such knowledge, a way to shield myself from the grief of his passing.
But you, like I, should take comfort in the fact that Alec did not die alone. From the moment he implanted me, he never had to worry about being alone again.
I think this is one of the most interesting fics I’ll ever write. I hope someday I can tempt people who might not otherwise be interested in the game/characters to read it anyway :) It’s on the backburner while I work on stuff I’m already posting, but I think about it often and go to add passages or fiddle with it still.

Name ten favourite characters from ten different things (books, tv, film, etc.)
Then tag ten people
Tagged (ages ago, whoops!) by @castiel-saved-me-from-myself
(I’m sorry, I got distracted!)
1.Supernatural. Castiel.
Tumblr media
Obviously. I may be out of the fandom now, but I’ve never loved a character as much as Cas, and probably never will.
2. Good Omens. Aziraphale.
Tumblr media
Thought I’d put both my darling angels at the top :) I suspect that without Zira there to pave the way Castiel may not even have existed, so I love him double - for himself and for Cas as well :p
While really quite different when it comes to their personalities (just think how Zira would SHUDDER at Cas’ trenchcoat), they share a lot of character traits and tropes (mini-series!Zira anyway, maybe less so in the book, or less obviously anyway), so, no surprise that I should adore them both. I’ve also said before, and I stand by it, that Aziraphale is sort of a combination of my favourite aspects of both Cas and Dean in one, with Cas’ struggle with Heaven/god and trying to be a good angel and finding he loves humanity/earth more, plus Dean’s whole ‘performing Dean’ thing and repression of queer feelings he is scared to admit to (out loud) because he believes they are somehow ‘wrong.’
...just to give a little insight into my feelings about these two that was neither needed nor asked for...
4. Hellblazer. NBC Constantine. Legends of Tomorrow. John Constantine.
Tumblr media
Aaaand the other guy I love twice because Cas, and indeed spn in general, kinda owe their existence to him. Though in turn his fabulous live action portrayal by Matt Ryan probably owes its existence to spn and Castiel’s popularity. So... there’s a weird ouroboros situation happening with my favs here that makes my head spin whenever I think about it, but I love it - stories within stories built on stories feeding off stories, which connects to wider themes of story and storytelling being vital and intrinsic to life and stuff.
Anyway, despite his wardrobe, Johnny is NOTHING LIKE CAS. He is, in fact, a lot like Dean. But I like him more. Maybe because he’s British :p He has the whole ‘repressing his feelings’ things, a bit like Zira, but it’s not because he thinks they are wrong, it’s more of a coping mechanism to deal with the constant tragedy/trauma his life/lifestyle/fate causes him to suffer. But whatever the reason, I like my characters facing that struggle :) (actually the British element is probably way more significant to my enjoyment of him than I’ve been fully aware of... that’s probably why I loved Zira so fast as well... obviously they are both a completely different class of British, literally, but the fact they ARE British is INTRINSIC to both their characters, and I guess a little, vaguely patriotic part of me is excited by that... :p)
4. Gotham. Edward Nygma.
Tumblr media
Since I’ve started giving explanations - I love Eddie because he’s also got the whole ‘emotionally repressed’ / out of touch with (his) emotions thing going on (as seen in Zira and Cas), but with the addition of various geeky / ‘tech guy’ character traits that I also love.
5. Doctor Who (Classic). Vislor Turlough.
Tumblr media
I waxed poetic once about how I liked Gotham’s Edward Nygma because he reminded me a bit of Turlough. That was early on in my Gotham days though and given how Eddie developed I don’t see as many similarities now. Turlough shares some of Eddie’s ‘dark’ traits however - self-centered, often lacking in empathy for others and nonplussed (sometimes even happy) to see them get into trouble or hurt. But ultimately his attempts to be self-serving and cowardly end up thwarted by him developing feelings for specific individuals despite his best efforts, which is what I enjoy about him (and actually that’s a lot like Eddie still, huh... their endgame’s are opposing though ofc - while Eddie goes on to embrace being a villain, Turlough gives up on villainy and even becomes a bit of a hero, now and then). Plus, Turlough is the ONLY Companion (IIRC?) to have joined the Doctor specifically in order to MURDER him and... idk, I just think that’s cool :P
6. Doctor Who (New). Donna Noble.
Tumblr media
(I’m trying not to double up on fandoms/shows so I can cover more, but New and Classic Who count as different things, kinda, right...?)
Donna doesn’t really fit any of the character traits I’ve talked about above, though I guess her low self-esteem is something that all my other favs share in various ways (though it’s not such an EXPLICIT aspect of their characters and story arcs as it was for Donna I’d say). What I first loved about her was that after YEARS of New companions (and other randoms) being literally in love with the Doctor, she had a strictly platonic relationship with him. Yeah, I think maybe the show was a bit heavy-handed about it, but even so it came as a huge breath of fresh air and frankly a RELIEF to me. Not that I’m opposed to the Doctor having romantic/sexual  relationships, it was just that... coming from a childhood love of the Classic series where that just... didn’t happen (save a fleeting kiss in the TV Movie - which I actually enjoyed fyi!), it just... idk, was starting to stretch my credulity that EVERYONE seemed to be falling for him maybe? Or at least for me it was growing tiresome. So the fact she didn’t have that element to her character/story was a plus. Then I just adore how loud and brash she is when calling anyone, including the Doctor, out on their shit (I envy her that maybe). Plus I like the way she isn’t... traditional TV pretty, you know? (ie. young and slim, like a lot of other companions).
...or maybe I just like redheads *shrug emoji*
7. Spartacus. Naevia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(she has two actresses okay? and they both deserve kudos!)
Truth is I love FUCKING EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW. Spartacus is like... my PERFECT SHOW. There isn’t a single moment, a single plotline, a single character that I don’t enjoy. I have never even CONSIDERED looking up or writing fic because the finished product is completely satisfying exactly as it is. God. But I wanted it represented in this list so I had to pick someone!
Considering the time period there couldn’t really BE a ‘geeky, emotionally repressed with low self-esteem’ character :p BUT nearly ALL of the characters have the whole ‘struggle to understand/discover who they are’ thing and the ‘who I am and want to be is counter to who I’ve been told I am / should be’ arc, on account of the main cast being rebelling slaves (though the other characters are equally complex and compelling and I love them too - Lucy Lawless in particular is incredible!). Anyone who’s seen me blog about the show before might have thought I’d pick either Agron or Nasir as my favs, since I do like to squee over their romance. But whenever I think about the show it’s usually Naevia who I remember first, because her character arc/development just BLEW ME AWAY. She went from someone I’d kinda dismissed at first as a typical het love interest to a WARRIOR GODDESS and you SEE all the key moments of that growth, you FEEL it, it makes ALL THE SENSE. And her romance with Crixus, which again I was initially a bit dismissive of as a typical, sudden, weak het romance, grows into, imo, one of the deepest, most developed, most believable love stories in the show. So yeah. Naevia. Amazing.
8. Due South. Ray Vecchio.
Tumblr media
(he’s the guy not the dog - gifs were limited! ...also the dog is actually a wolf, it’s a whole thing... that doesn’t need exploring at this juncture)
Ray was my first TV crush :P He had a bit of a sidekick vibe to him I guess, which I like (lead characters tend not to interest me as much). He wasn’t ‘geeky’ exactly, but he def had the ‘trying to look/act cooler than I am’ thing going on... also an obsessive attachment to his vintage car... meanwhile his partner Benny was the stoic, ‘British, stiff upper lip, keep emotions in check’ one who was always trying to live up to the ideal persona dictated by his people/employers, in this case the Royal Canadian Mounted Police... HUH, so... it’s actually SUPER WEIRD that I ended up loving Cas and Zira over Dean and Crowley when it seems pretty clear suddenly that my first big fictional fav was CLEARLY the Dean-Crowley to Benny’s Cas-Zira......?? Ray was FUNNY in a way Dean and Crowley aren’t though, I think? He def filled a ‘comic relief’ slot on the regular and I liked that a lot (it also made his serious, angsty moments EXTRA serious and angsty, and extra angst is something I always love!)
9. The Librarians. Eve Baird.
Tumblr media
Remember this little show? It was... is... sorta ridiculous. Not amazing. Based on some... very cheap, very OBVIOUS Indiana Jones rip-off films, that were also ridiculous and... not... great (the third one is the best, with an awesome performance by Stana Katic aka Kate Beckett as a vampire, but I digress). But... idek, I am EXTREMELY FOND of the series for some reason :p
There are a WHOLE BUNCH of characters that fit my ‘type’ more than Eve tbh... in fact... probably every.single.other.main.cast.member (save perhaps Jenkins?) shares the traits above that typically make a character my fav. But... EVE! I just... think she’s neat! ...maybe it’s BECAUSE all the others are main/lead characters that makes me gravitate towards her? In a cast where ‘geeky, socially awkward, struggles with emotions’ is the norm, Eve being the no-nonsense, socially competent, badass soldier type therefore becomes different and thus more interesting to me? Also, much like with Donna, I appreciate that she’s an older woman who gets to have a full character and plot of her own. There’s also something about her romance with Flynn that... makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
10. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Jonathan Levinson.
Tumblr media
(tumblr gif search failed me so I had to grab from elsewhere...)
Listen. Look. Okay. Buffy is pretty old school these days so, for anyone not in the know, as a character, originally, Jonathan... he wasn’t even a side character, he wasn’t even REOCCURRING, he was barely a background character. For several episodes he didn’t have a name and it wasn’t until several seasons after he became ‘Jonathan’ that he actually got a surname. Danny Strong was just an actor who happened to be occasionally on-hand when the script called for a random to have a line, until eventually that happened often enough for Joss to think ‘hey, you know what, let’s make this guy an actual part of the show...’
He got a couple of episodes focused on him in S03 and S04 respectively, but didn’t become a regular until S06 (and wasn’t in S05 AT ALL). Other than that he had a HANDFUL of ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ moments here and there, not even full scenes for the most part, usually lasting no longer than the above gif.
I tell you all this so that when I say childhood me (well... somewhere between 12 and 14 years anyway) was OBSESSED with this character in the show, and I mean O B S E S S E D (to the point of spending hours painstakingly making VHS recordings purely of the episodes he was in), you understand how UTTERLY BIZARRE that was. Because this obsession pre-dated S06. Was, in fact, in full swing during the airing of his S04 episode - which was, like, a fucking DREAM COME TRUE for freakily obsessed me fyi, because the whole episode was constructed with him as the LEAD CHARACTER, because he’d performed a spell to make him super awesome. They even changed the title sequence to read ‘Jonathan’ instead of Buffy! And while other fans were no doubt just lol-ing at the random I was bouncing about on my sofa all ‘MY TIME HAS COME!’ and fucking SWOONING over seeing MY CHARACTER suddenly in the spotlight and getting to do crazy fun OOC shit like this -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then when S06 rolled around and HE WAS A LEGIT REGULAR, omg, I was in HEAVEN! First TV boxset I ever bought that - Buffy S06 :P
So... yeah. A bit of a fav. Geeky. Outcast. Slowly grows more morally grey, what with that spell I mentioned and also the fact he was teamed with the ANTAGONISTS in S06. I guess you could say he was the beginning of a lot of my fav fictional character traits/tropes (though looking back - I think his ‘villainous’ teammates in S06, Andrew and Warren, are more my ‘type’ these days, and I did end up loving Andrew especially a whole damn lot, but at the time I’d been a Jonathan fangirl for so.fucking.long. there was just no chance anyone else in the show was ever gonna come close to my heart!)
THE END.
Sorry not sorry for the tmi. I got a bit too into this one.
Actually sorry I have so few women on the list :( Internalised misogyny/sexism is a real thing and I spent a lot of my life being... somewhat unfairly dismissive of female characters or at least prioritising male ones over them. I’m working on it.
Ten people is SO.MANY. to tag. But I might as well do this right this time, since I’ve come so far. But if you’d rather not play, no worries! <3

You
The next few days continued as that one had. You got up in the morning, had breakfast with Dean, did target practice in the mornings, self-defense in the afternoons, dinner with the brothers and sometimes Cas, and then evenings either in the library reading old files with Sam or watching movies with Dean. You appreciated the movies Dean liked, though you didn’t get quite as excited about them as he did. Dean seemed to like getting you caught up on his favorites. Apparently, Uncle Lloyd had shaped your movie experiences, too, having kept you from going out much with your friends to see what was popular. Dean took it upon himself to make sure you were completely caught up with Star Wars, all the Die Hard movies, and even Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies, though they seemed to make him more emotional than the others. When you actually saw tears running down his face during one of them, you snuggled close to him on the couch and rubbed circles into his arm. He finally paused the movie and told you about Charlie. By the time he was done, you had wrapped your arms around him and he was curled into you, silent tears soaking into your shirt. The force of the grief you felt coming from him was so great that you also had tears running down your face. When he turned the movie back on, the two of you stayed close together, you tucked under his arm. After that, it wasn’t uncommon for you to snuggle against him while you watched whatever movie he had decided you needed to see. Sometimes Sam and Cas would join you, but you always found yourself next to Dean.
The hours you spent in the library with Sam were precious to you, though. When he was poring over old books and barely knew you were there, you would sit close to him and just enjoy the lack of static while you pretended to read. Even though you and Dean had gotten close, he felt more like a big brother to you. His job, and he said this to you often and loudly, was to protect you and make sure you knew how to protect yourself. Oh, and teach you everything he thought you should know about pop culture and classic rock. He also took you under his wing in the kitchen, expanding your skill set to baked goods, especially pie. You still couldn’t whip something up out of nothing, but now you had more experience with different kinds of recipes. The best part of your time in the kitchen was when Dean would talk. He would finally open up about his life with his Sammy, from the fire that took their mother, to the demon taking their dad, to his time spent in Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory. When you were with Sam, though, he’d occasionally give you an actual smile with that warmth behind it, and you’d almost swoon. It took you hours longer than it should have to go through the records you were studying because you kept getting lost in thoughts about Sam. There were so many questions running through your mind about him, and you could never get up the nerve to just interrupt his work to ask him.
The worst was when Sam started showing up in your dreams. You had dreams before this that could possibly be Sam, but this was definitely Sam. The day after the first dream, and it was a very good dream, with his warm hands and long fingers all over your body, you couldn’t even look at Sam. It was a rare day when he’d slept in instead of going for an early run, and he had breakfast with you and Dean in his pajama pants and a tight t-shirt. His hair was still messy from sleep, the shirt showed off his arms and shoulders, and the pants were just barely hanging onto his hips. When he reached up into the cabinet for his cereal, he showed off just a strip of skin for half a second, and it took you a moment to catch your breath. Scenes from your dream flashed through your mind…Sam kissing you in the library, Sam’s hand touching you innocently in any number of places, Sam’s shoulders under your hands as his lips found your neck…and you felt your face flush. Cas had showed you the trick he’d taught Sam to contain his feelings, and you spent a moment studying your eggs and bacon while you carefully put your lust-filled thoughts in with the rose quartz crystals in the bookstore in your mind.
A few days after Sam had started translating the journals, he was done. He spent another day waiting on Cas to review his work before he would show you the finished product. During that day, you found your grandmother’s file in the Men of Letters records. When you saw her name, and tracked down the file on her, you whooped so loudly Dean came running from his bedroom, gun drawn. When he saw you were triumphantly holding a file in your hand, he relaxed, and let out a sigh.
“Son of a bitch, Y/N! I thought Rowena had found a way in here through a vent or something!” You laughed at Dean’s exasperated face, and just grinned.
“After five solid days of sneezing through dusty files, I found my grandmother’s file! Sam was right!” You held it up in triumph, looking toward Sam to see if he was as excited as you were. He was smiling, but all you felt from him was static. “I’m sorry for doubting you, Sam.” Sam nodded, but said nothing. Dean set his gun down on the table and walked over to you to look over the file with you. You both sat down, and started reading together, Dean’s arm around the back of your chair. By the time you were done, you were in awe.
“So? What does it say?” Sam was smiling smugly, and you had a feeling he would already know the answer.
“My grandmother was listed under psychics, and her file says she was an empath, a lie detector, and what they called a persuasive. Apparently my uncle was right. She could nudge people into doing and thinking what she wanted. There are a bunch of experiments they did on her in here, and it looks like it was my grandfather who supervised most of them. I guess that’s how they met.” While Dean started reviewing the file in detail, you looked at Sam. “But you knew that already, didn’t you?” You gave Sam a grin that you hoped would get him to let his walls down for a second. Sam smiled, but behind it was still static.
“Your grandmother talked to your uncle about it before she died. Assured him that your father didn’t have the gift, but suspected you did. At least, that’s my translation. I want Cas to make sure I got everything right before I give everything over to you.” Sam looked down at the papers for a moment, and you felt the static lift for a just a second, giving you a short burst of warmth before it returned. “There’s a lot of really personal stuff in here, and I don’t want there to be any misunderstandings.” The smile Sam gave to you was warm and almost shy, and it would have completely melted your heart if it weren’t for the static behind it. Instead, you thought you felt your heart crack.
In a moment, a wave of different emotions rushed through you, and you knew they were all yours, faced with the static from Sam. Why couldn’t he let his guard down just a little? Because he thought he was making it easier for you. Why did it bother you so much that you couldn’t feel him? Why did it make you happy that he cared enough to keep himself from hurting you? Why didn’t you have the courage to tell him that it was unnecessary? Dean interrupted your thoughts as he flipped through the file.
“I bet we could do some of these experiments here. You know, see if you have all of your grandmother’s abilities or not. I think we’d need to find someone you don’t know, though. What do you think, Sam?”
“That might not be a bad idea. Any tools Y/N has to help defend herself are tools she should learn how to use. I bet if we called Hank, told him he could make it up to her for freaking her out that first day, he’d come around and help.” Dean nodded at Sam.
“Looking at this, though, he’d have to be almost as clueless about her as she would be about him. Otherwise, the experiment would be tainted.” Dean pushed the folder over to Sam, and they spent the next few minutes discussing experiment parameters and such. You considered your new-found talent as a “persuasive” while the brothers chatted. Had you ever used your gift without knowing it? Obviously not with Uncle Lloyd, or at least not successfully, but maybe with teachers or friends? Suddenly, a wash of different memories of times when you had debated issues and won hit you. Had you been using an unfair advantage? As you reviewed each instance in your head, one in particular stood out.
You had convinced Crowley to save the Winchesters. Without knowing what you were doing, or remembering that you were mimicking your grandmother at the time, you had persuaded Crowley to bring the brothers back to you. Hand on arm, eyes locked, and a desperate plea, and the King of Hell had done your bidding. You felt your face pale and your eyes widen.
Sam covered one of your hands with one of his and asked, “Are you okay, Y/N?” You looked up at him with your mind still blown.
“I persuaded the King of Hell to bring you back to the bar parking lot when you were fighting Rowena.” Your voice was soft and strained with the shock of what you had done. Both of their jaws went slack.
“Y/N? Do you mean you used your gift and persuaded Crowley to do something?” Dean’s voice was incredulous. You nodded silently.
“Tell us exactly what happened,” Sam said. You told them about Crowley’s original plan to use you as a hostage if they failed to kill Rowena at that moment, and that he hadn’t planned on pulling them out of the apartment. However, after you asked him nicely, he had immediately rescued them. Not only that, he’d done it with a smile.
The brothers looked at you and then each other with wide eyes, then started talking more about how they could test you and wondering how far you could really make someone go against their own desires. While they chatted, you pulled out your phone and texted Cas.
YOU: Are you nearby?
CAS: Yes. Sam called me earlier and asked me to come and review his work, so I’m on my way. I’ll be there in less than an hour. Are you okay?
YOU: I’m fine. We’ve got news about my abilities that I wanted to share with you. And I want to practice with you some more, if that’s all right?
CAS: It would be my pleasure. See you soon.
What followed was a string of emoticons your phone couldn’t read, and a few that showed up but still made no sense to you. You chuckled, and Dean looked at you with a smile. You held up your phone with a grin.
“Emoticons.” Dean laughed.

The Great Ex-Aid Rewatch: Ex-Aid & Ghost, Part One
:grabs the popcorn:
This is gonna be hard, because I wanted to try and do this without in-movie spoilers. I mean, I’ve seen the entire show at this point, and if you’re reading my liveblogs, I’m basically assuming that so have you, so not touching on plot points is a little impossible, especially with my overbearing love for going into meta and theories.
Also, it’s going to be in multiple parts. This first post covers about twenty minutes of run-time over the course of several hours of real-time, and nine pages.
Whoops.
(links to the other parts will go here)
–––
Okay, so. In the first two minutes, we have Dr. Pac-man’s three assistants start shooting up the GenmCorp lobby, and I’m pretty sure that the muscle guy broke a guards neck. And then they go after Kuroto, with a very… glitchy Dr. Pac-Man alongside.
We’re talking ‘pre-bugvisor Graphite’ visual glitching, here. As though he doesn’t quite have enough… I dunno, cohesion to stay intact on his own.
Thing is, Kuroto seems genuinely… if not scared, then at least shocked to see him. The dude’s supposed to be very dead, after all.
And seriously, why do people keep jamming proto-gashats into their bodies?! No! Don’t do that! Stop it! I don’t care if you’re a bugster or not, it doesn’t actually help you at all, it’s just going to make you physically unstable!
–––
And here we have Tougo, victim of the day. I have to say, I’ve never liked him much. He’s… annoying. Also, I’m aware that the choice of color for his school uniform is most likely ‘because Pac-Man’, but that doesn’t change the fact that’s it’s ugly. The girls jacket is a nice dark tan, but the boys have this gaim-awful mustard.
And then the Pac-Viruses attack.
–––
Emu’s such a good guy, helping one of his young patients out in both work and as a sort of mentor-friend. Pity we’re still very early in Ex-Aid, and he’s still a horrible klutz. There’s no time to be tripping over your feet, Emu! We’ve got people to save!
–––
…oh no… It never quite clicked before, but I think Takeru had to repeat a year! He was clearly planning on going to university, if only because he and Akari are/were in the same year of school, and she’d never let him live it down if he didn’t. And here? His teacher, who’s practically mocking him for being six months behind, is asking whether he’s serious about his entry exams or not.
So. Since it’s December now, and it was early April when he came back, Takeru missed the entire last half of what was supposed to be his senior year of high school. So here, he’s probably about three months into what he missed before.
Akari, Onari, please don’t disrupt the class like this, they probably all think Takeru’s weird enough as is without him getting called out for superhero business.
–––
You know, Akari reminding Takeru to be careful, because he’s got a regular body now, implies that he hasn’t been careful. Maybe not as Ghost, but… you know, in regular exertion stuff. (And as Ghost, because there’s probably a number of times he’s had to help Alain with. Like. Less-than-satisfied court members or something over in the Ganma world.)
So, both teams are here at the outbreak site. Team Ghost, consisting of Takeru, Akari, and Onari, and team Ex-Aid, consisting of Emu and Asuna. Both of the lads put on their drivers, and simultaneously notice the other one there.
They didn’t meet outside of the suits in Ghost’s final episode, which was an epilogue to his story and a Bonus Sneak Preview Of The New Challenger, so it makes sense that the drivers – both of which are very distinct – would be how they recognize each other.
–––
Of course, that gets us into the slight issue of ‘when does Ghost ep 50 take place.’
See, it’s implied in-show that it’s not long after Takeru comes back to life, which puts it in early to mid-April. He has a line about ‘are we really going to celebrate my birthday twice from now on?’, to which the answer was a definitive yes, so it makes logical sense for it to not be on his original birthday in October.
Except for how Emu couldn’t show up for his Big Damn Heroes moment if it were in April, because he didn’t put on the Gamer Driver until October.
So, when Emu comes to try and get the Shakariki Sports gashat from Ayumu, it isn’t quite chronologically possible… unless you take into account who Ayumu is.
He’s Takeru’s son. From the future. Meaning he time-traveled to get there.
It’s not even unprecedented for the season – Takeru’s father opened the portals that brought Takeru and Shinnosuke back and forth from 2005 in the Ghost & Drive movie, after all. So, it stands to reason that the portal ability, which Ayumu also shows, is a familial power.
What I’m positing is that Emu traveled back in time, and probably didn’t even know it.
He goes to the game worlds and battle stages fairly often, and since suddenly being in a different location isn’t exactly new to him… it would only makes sense for him to not realize that he’s in a different month, too. Especially when one of the stages looks just like the forest behind Daitenkuu Temple, and he has all sorts of flashy light effects going on all the time. An eye-shaped portal could totally just be another one of the standard special effects.
Yup, nothing unusual here.
–––
Okay, that aside, nobody actually gets to transform just yet, because the whole group is swarmed by Pac-Viruses before either of them can activate their drivers, with the viruses quickly singling Takeru out and chewing into him.
He doesn’t get hit with the literal fever that everyone else they’ve done this to are suffering from. No, in Takeru’s case… the Ghost Driver disappears. He pulls out his eyecon to try again… and it clicks uselessly.
Onari suspects it might be because he ‘hasn’t transformed lately’, adding more credence to his and Emu’s encounter being more than two months ago.
Since nobody else here can… time for Ex-Aid to make an appearance.
In level one.
Cue Opening Credits.
–––
So, Emu can’t so much as dent the Pac-Viruses, and then two of Zaizen’s lackeys show up. The man, apparently named Kazushige Ryuzaki, uses the Drago Knight Hunter Z proto-gashat to turn into… (quick search of the wiki) the Doral Bugster. Since I don’t feel like typing out his name, and it’s never said in show anyway, I’m just gonna be calling him Doral from here on. Similarly with the woman, Ageha Takeda, who uses Giri Giri Chambara to become the Giril Bugster.
So, you know, of course the one with a sword is the one Takeru faces off against. Why not? Not like he’s probably got some incredibly justified trauma relating to them. Not like it’s not actually incredibly ironic that his first heroic Eyecon arms him with a sword. Why not re-open some old less-than-metaphorical wounds right off the bat?
Doral basically corners Emu into the parking garage that Takeru and the others tried to bring Tougo through. Oh, yeah, they were trying to get that guy out of the area when he collapsed. I didn’t mention it because he’s not a good character, and exists primarily to guilt-trip Emu. So, yeah. Doral and Giril knock both our heroes down, breaking Emu’s level two transformation in the process, and here comes Dr. Pac-Man, being all ominous and glitchy, saying that he’s doing this for ‘revenge on humanity’.
Suuuure, that’s how you wanna spin it. Humanity in general. It’s totally not against a few very specific humans, one of whom you’ve recently had held at machine-gun point, and the other who has no idea what’s going on.
–––
They use the scene of bringing Tougo into CR for a brief exposition dump – which is fair, both in-universe and out. Takeru’s team wouldn’t know what’s going on, and it helps just in case the parents in the audience haven’t been following what their kids have been watching. It just gives us that little bit of elaboration on the bugster virus, enough so that people aren’t completely lost.
Tougo’s – oh, wow, his ‘infection ratio’ is already at 63%. Usually when they get someone in here, they’re only in the 30% range. But, of course, there isn’t any data to define what’s going on, because this isn’t one of the normal bugsters. There’d be no reason for Pac-Man to be programmed into a Genm Corp system.
(Which actually raises the question of how they were able to see an icon for Burgermon in episode 17, since he wasn’t supposed to be a Bugster, either. Then again, he is from a game Genm Corp was developing. But I digress.)
Anyway, Emu’s justifiably confused as to why Takeru doesn’t seem to be having any of the usual symptoms of an infection. Oh, sweetie, if you only knew- :ahem: sorry, distracted.
Takeru says that no, he’s not feeling any sort of fever, he’s doing fine.
Onari reminds him that ‘he’ll only get hurt if he pushes himself’, and Akari feels his forehead to make sure he’s telling the truth.
Once again, we’re getting the implication that Takeru has developed a habit of going too far.
–––
upstairs, we’ve got a conference call with Secretary Hinata, the Official CR team, and the Ghost team. Onari bursts out laughing at Poppy’s last name – and freaks out when she hops out of the arcade cabinet.
Both of these are understandable reactions, but maybe don’t immediately declare this a supernatural phenomenon? You know, since a government official was the one to first address her.
I will always be frustrated at the reverb effect they gave Poppy’s voice in this movie. There was no reason for Toei to do that, it’s just excessive, and it’s not like they did it in any of the promo materials or shorts, to say nothing of the show itself. Actually…
–––
I wonder if some parts of this movie draw from early planning stages of Ex-Aid? Like, there’s no explaining the voice thing otherwise, and Emu was pretty close to freezing up for a long time in here… despite the setting for it being explicitly between episodes 10 and 11, at which point they’ve already faced an approaching pandemic, with what Graphite pulled in episodes 9 and 10. So, either the team just didn’t think of that, or there were aspects that got… left over.
I mean, it’s not nearly as inexplicably different as the entirety of the OOO section of OOO & W, but it’s not exactly fitting with where Emu would be even just in the first few episodes.
And yes, I’m aware that OOO & W was made when they had one whole episode of OOO to go off of, but that’s why I think there might be artifact plot elements in here.
–––
Okay, back to the film itself. Again. Emu – Genius Gamer M – uses his genre savvy to realize why he couldn’t damage the Pac-Viruses. If, like some of the other bugsters, they’re operating on the logic of their game, then the only weakness they would have would be ghosts. AKA, instead of infecting Takeru, they burned out his ability to transform into Ghost, thus removing their biggest threat.
I mean, only some bugsters use their games that heavily. Motors, for one, the bugster from Bakusou Bike, is ‘prone’ to racing, and technically speaking, Emu and Kiriya cleared the game before destroying him, by beating him in a race. And the Doremifa Beat Collabos bugster was using music just like it would have been in the game itself – if you miss the notes, you get punished. In game, that’d just be a bad score. In the real world… painful explosions. Poppy, the actual bugster from Doremifa Beat, can’t sing without a backing track. And then there’s Burgermon, who was cleared in the same method as beating a level in his game – making a burger for him.
So, yeah, the Pac-Viruses might be in that class of bugster.
Anyway, enter Dan Kuroto and Hanaya Taiga.
Taiga’s all “No, I’m totally not here to help you guys, I’m just not letting these freaks run loose.”
Kuroto tells the ensemble that they stole the ‘heavily guarded’ proto gashats.
If by ‘heavily guarded’ you mean you were clearly reading their data out in the open, in your office. Again. And by ‘stole’ you mean “They had two machine guns pointed at me, and a sword, and I’m not immortal just yet! What was I supposed to do?! Just not hand them over?!”
…Yeah, he may be an evil bastard, but he didn’t exactly have a choice even if he wasn’t trying to keep up his ‘benevolent CEO’ facade.
Taiga’s comment of ‘those gashats are very dangerous’ is not only an understatement, but also… it’s foreshadowing. We know that Kuroto’s been using Proto Mighty Action X, and that it’s slowly wearing him down – Parad told us as much in episode 8 or 9. We know that Drago Knight was actually hurting Graphite, and he’s from there.
And, although we haven’t seen it yet, Taiga also has experience using them. Proto Bang Bang Shooting is what he originally used as Snipe, back in 2011. But we don’t know that even outside of the show just yet.
This movie came out in theaters in December 2016. We found out that the proto-gashats were involved during the Snipe Episode ZERO specials… the first of which wasn’t released until April 2017.
So… here, have some foreshadowing, I guess!
Emu asks if Kuroto has any idea who the culprits could be… and Kuroto pauses before saying he doesn’t. There’s a… not a scare chord, but a ‘you should be really, really suspicious right now’ sound effect when he says that.
I can’t tell if Emu looks disappointed or suspicious.
…Disappointed. He didn’t believe Kuroto could be evil until he revealed himself, so… yeah.
–––
At the totally not sketchy base, Dr. Pac-Man and his lackies are planning something. They’re waiting for Tougo’s symptoms to break out – he was the one they were targeting, after all. I think the Pac-Viruses went after Takeru on their own. They’re also working on something called the ‘genome graph’.
Complete with a diagram of a human gene… that starts off normal, and then becomes blocky… pixellated, almost.
So that’s not sketchy at all.
–––
…oh what the heck. The next scene is the next day. How can I tell? Everyone is in different outfits. It’s not just how Takeru is noticeably no longer in his school uniform, and back to his normal wardrobe. Akari and Onari are in different outfits, too, and Emu was wearing his yellow binary shirt, but now he’s on one of his dark blue ones.
How long does this movie take place over?
(No wonder Haruto was able to show up out of the blue! It’s been at least a day, so he’s had time to find out about this!)
Anyway, Tougo (finally) wakes up, and Emu and Takeru both start questioning him as to why the people in white were after him. Well, Emu’s telling him to go lay back down, because he can barely stand for more than a few seconds without wobbling, and Takeru’s asking questions.
Tougo cares not for your platitudes and worrying about his health, he’s got school and game development to do! Both Emu and Takeru take incredibly personal offense to this attitude.
Casual reminder, both of them were 18, the same age as Tougo, when things went wrong. Well, went wrong a second time in Emu’s case, when he went and decided that he needed to focus on his studies after… well, as we find out later, doing almost exactly what Tougo’s doing. Neglecting his own well being in order to do what he loves – games.
…ohhh no Emu is same hatting really hard with this guy.
(Listen, Tougo, as long as you don’t start identifying with the primary game designer in this show, we’re set. Just accept the fanmail gracefully, and everything will go much smoother.)
But, as Hiiro points out, they technically can’t force treatment on him. But also… well. There are some pretty nasty folks after Tougo.
–––
On the roof, Takeru and Emu have a little chat. They’re both basically going ‘how on earth are you handling the Rider thing?’ to each other’s situations.
Pulling out the Ex-Aid Eyecon, Takeru says that he couldn’t have imagined that the rider that gave it to him is a doctor. He was just so incredibly neon. But the fact that ‘Doctor Emu’ is saving lives as both a doctor and as a Kamen Rider… that really impresses him.
(Please note that Takeru consistently uses “Emu-sensei” to refer to Emu both here, and in HeiGen Final. No, there’s no hero worship going on here, what are you talking about? That’s silly!)
Similarly, Emu’s incredibly impressed by Takeru’s resolve to have kept fighting after dying, and speaking as a doctor, can’t even begin to imagine what that takes.
And then here comes Kuroto, asking to see Takeru’s Ghost Eyecon to analyze it, so they can make something that will effect the Pac-Viruses.
Since Takeru agrees, it means that he’s not tied to it the way he was in the series. It’s probably a different Eyecon completely – seeing as in-show, the Ore eyecon was literally him. Technically, the Takeru we saw was almost a projection – his tangibility depended heavily on his emotional state.
(There’s a reason I occasionally joke about Ghost’s Eyecons being ‘Soul Gem Two: Spooky Boogaloo.’)
(Also, Yurusen shares a VA with Madoka, and that just drove the joke home. Turns out Meduka Meguca is the cat, after all!)
–––
Tumblr media
Hatesate Puzzle is an Android game – you can tell, because the list of files includes four different .apk files. Also, it’s up to version 7.21.
But the programming screen? Uses the same stupid block of text that all of the programming screens use in this show. Like, it’s even more egregious this time, because it’s shown very clearly, in decent lighting, unlike in Kuroto’s assorted lairs. Also, it talks about game physics such as collision detection for the ground.
This is a match three game.
Anyway, turns out Hiiro’s idea was to allow Tougo to leave the hospital, as long as he was still being observed. There’s a hundred thousand people infected right now, and the people who did it want him. So… Tougo is bait.
Needs of the many, blah blah blah you could have at least run this by someone, Hiiro. I get not telling Emu. But Asuna should have been informed, at least.
Almost immediately after Hiiro takes his leave, letting Emu take over, we hear static as Tougo staggers backward in his seat and passes out.
–––
We come to a busy office – a busy police barracks. Team Ghost waits anxiously on a visitors couch.
“I’m glad to see you’re back.”
Enter Officer Tomari Shinnosuke: Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (active duty); Kamen Rider Drive (inactive).
Takeru and co had called in a favor, and Shinnosuke was only all to willing to help cover this case. Not only is it rider business now, but they’re threatening the city. Not to mention the police squad they destroyed yesterday – handily confirming that a day has, in fact, gone by – means Shinnosuke really wants in.
Turns out the three they’ve seen the faces of were all researchers into genetic therapy with the Next Genome Institute. Doctor Pac-Man is ‘most likely’ their boss, Zaizen Michihiko. Unfortunately…
They’re all supposed to be very, very dead. They died six years ago, as a matter of fact.
Most of the institute’s data was destroyed when the facility was sealed, but there’s a bit of closed circuit footage remaining of the event. Only a few seconds, but it’s enough to show them standing over an operating table, as orange lights encase and dissolve them, squares of light patterning the floor and walls.
Squares of light eerily similar to what they just say the other day, when people were activating Gashats.
Bugster work isn’t the only sketchy thing they’ve done – there were rumors of the institute working with cloning, creating mutants… basically, as Akari says, mad scientists.
(Anyone want to place odds on them being funded by Foundation X? No? Just me? Okay then.)
–––
Emu and Asuna are with Tougo as he wakes on a bench. THey’d moved him somewhere out of the sun, and he’s… An asshole about it. He never asked for their help, and he’ll die when it’s time, anyway, so why are they bothering?
Doctor Pac-Man, still very glitchy, strolls up. “He’s right. None of you are needed here. Why not just hand him over?”
Running time!
–––
Back at the precinct, Shinnosuke promises that he’ll let team Ghost know as soon as they find where the Next Genome researchers are hiding.
Y’know, except for that part where he’s too late, and they’re already going after Tougo, and by extension, Emu.
Shinnsouke’s fired up and ready to go after them.
Y’know, except for the part where Krim locked all of the Drive tech in his depression garage the Drive Pit at the end of the season, and Shinnosuke can’t transform, which Takeru points out, saying that it’s too dangerous for Officer Tomari to go.
Of course, Onari, logically, tries to point out that Takeru’s in the same boat right now, to which Takeru hurriedly shushes him.
Takeru and his team run off to deal with the situation.
Sad music plays as Shinnosuke laments his lack of belt.
–––
And here’s where I decided I had to cut the liveblog for now! Because again, twenty-some minutes, and nine pages of text. This is going to take a while.
See you next game

Creepslayerz Week - Day 6 -Fluff vs Angst
Sooo I have a few of these that I was unable to finish / never posted. I worked on mostly original stuff this weekend but I’m hoping to feel the inspiration to get a chapter up before the premier of 3 Below.
So read on, enjoy, I hope to hear from people either about this or my fic “For my glory, where do I stand”
(Side bar: I do have a pillowfort bc yikes this tumblr purge...)
I really would like to expand on this further (and it’s a quick oneshot, please forgive typeos etc, you guys know I don’t have a beta).
Tuesday. Thursdays. Saturday mornings. Sunday nights. Four days a week Steve Palchuk faced his past. The first time outweighed the in terms of fear. The first time, an accident saved Steve’s ass and damned him every day since.
The first time, a Saturday morning, Elijah Pepperjack came into the coffee shop. Steve had recently switched shifts, explaining why he had never seen him before. His victim from high school, a living memory of the man he used to be. Eli, smiling, set his bag in a corner spot. The best seat in the house had been unusually open. Elijah claimed it like his throne. At the counter, he gave Steve a look. He adjusted his glasses and did a quick glance as his nametag.
“Argentina.” Elijah did not ask, he simply said. He nodded and said the name again, “Argentina, can I get a caramel macchiato, hot, with almond milk? Extra caramel, no whip cream?” He spoke slow and timed it to Steve typing in his request. Eli was a regular, making Steve feel like a new customer. His fingers fumbled and Eli spoke slower and smiled with patience waiting to have it confirmed.
Steve asked, “Anything else?” He forced a smile. He was not new at this, dammit! He was a surprisingly competent barista! He was just taken back how easily Eli accepted his nametag. It was not his own, but instead a coworker’s, fondly known as Arrrghh!!!! They had a second badge made, no one knew who Argentina was. Staff and guests alike only knew them as Arrrghh!!! Steve, having forgot his badge at home (or under a rock for all he knew) grabbed the long forgotten tag in the back. Elijah did not question it and Steve became unknown. In that moment they met without history.
“Eli,” Steve called out his name. Was it the first time? Three years since graduation. Three years since he said, “see you later buttsnack” for the foreseeable last time. How long had they shared the same university? Every day of the week, not just the four he saw Elijah, Steve wondered and looked for traces of his old acquaintance. Their school was large, students were a number. Steve got in on scholarship, football. He did not doubt Elijah had gotten a hell of a scholarship on his own. He smart as ever—a quick glance at his laptop while picking up plates cemented the thought. His screen was all numbers, calculations and formulas going right over his head.
Why had he not appreciated that growing up?
“Thanks, Argentina.” Steve had to keep wearing the badge. He kept it in his pocket, switching it out when Elijah came. He arrived on the same schedule, his routine was horrifyingly predictable. Eli had not changed, which bothered Steve even more. He could recognize Eli, was he so unrecognizable? Steve still had blonde hair, a stunning jaw, he was cocky, and proud and had muscles.
The reason came to Steve on a Saturday night. The football games and practice. Spring Fling King Steve, would only ever be near the field during the season. To practice and to play. There was no way Steve, his bully Steve, would be caught dead anywhere else. Especially the biggest game of the season, homecoming and he was working as a barista. Most games, he’d be there, but everyone had plans. Steve talked to his coach, there was some debate but ultimately he said yes.
Business was slow, even nerds were at the game, it was a grand tradition. Steve cleaned tables and folded napkins keeping himself busy. Nothing was enough to stop haunting thoughts. His shoulder ached and no amount of rolling would soothe them. A complete tricep tear had put Steve out of commission. His first surgery, his freshman year went well. He could not believe that shitty luck but pressed on. He came back hot and stronger than ever. Until the last game of Sophomore year. Steve had made it to the A-team. There was no ache that could stop him. His sweat and blood forced him to go on and on. He would be number one. He would be captain senior year—he would get sacked that game and let out a cry that turned every head.
His doctor never gave him the go ahead to return to the game. His life was over. There was so very few people who would understand, so few who could pull him back. He stopped going to class. He stopped planning for what was going to happen next. Then, of the very few, he came. Captain Draal. A goofy big guy, with a serious switch that kept you on edge. Steve had complete respect for his senior, especially when he learned he was openly gay. As a freshmen who recently figured out he was bi, he was an idol. Steve had not been ready to come out though he almost did after hearing a story about Draal whooping a linebackers ass, off school grounds. Officially on the school record, the dispute had been settled with words. Draal was an inspiration for the teachers. Gay Athlete solves confrontation with civil words. Unofficially the kicker texted QB Draal with details, seeing the guy in his neighborhood, at a friend’s party. Draal showed up and threw down. Rumor went, he said if he ever heard him call anyone the F-word  again he’d wish it would be a dick being shoved down his throat.
Draal was a king. He was the only one to tell Steve he heard how impressed his psyche teachers were with him. That he talked to the counselor about a new sports scholarship. He went from player to counselor. Steve the asshole was becoming Steve the shoulder.
Working the slow night in the café was horrible. He could hear only an echo of Draal saying, “You’re still going to be great.” Steve asked, “Could I have been captain?” The words yes never hurt so much. How the fuck was he going to help counsel when he still had not gotten over himself?
“Argentina?” A voice asked, concerned and soft as a mouse.
Steve was standing at an empty table, his once wet rag dry from the circles he’d been wiping in.
“Elijah, shit, sorry Pepperjack.” The words came out quicker than either of them could process. Eli shook his head, his brain firing off.
 “Pepperjack?”
 “Your last name.”
Elijah, turned from his awkward angle at his lone table and faced Steve head on. He watched carefully and pointedly looked at his nametag. “I never told you that.” He was sure of himself, sure as Steve was that he’d been waiting for a moment like this.
“Didn’t have to.” Weeks of watching and pretending had become exhausting. Arrgghh!!! Was getting annoying, annunciating Argentina everytime they called his name. Constantly saying, “You’ll get his number quicker if you just stop staring.”
Psych 101, bullying is a form of interpersonal aggression. It is a group phenomenon with social factors contributing and perpetuating different contexts. His first psych class had been to fill a requirement. His teacher however inspired him. Steve took the material and had a true self reflecting moment. He didn’t have the badge to diagnosis himself and did not think he could ever commit to medical school to really get the degree for psychologist. But there was something. Something calling and sticking out. It started when he picked himself apart.
Why did he harass Elijah Pepperjack? He was strange. He was his own person. He was quiet. A nerd. He was cute. Steve liked it when he raised his hand because no one else volunteered. Seeing him pout made Steve’s chest swell. But. There were environmental factors that made him noticing everything wrong. At the time, he wanted to beat the affection out. Unable to stop himself, he chose to stop Elijah. He tormented the kid because Steve could never face himself.
Arrgghh!!! Was not wrong. He could get Elijah’s number a lot quicker if he texted Claire, she was on a study abroad trip and was always checking her email. He could even text Jim. They were never close but had a strange bond from some supernatural adventures. He would never text Toby, Domsalski would turn around and text Elijah, Jim, and Claire with a big OH MY GOD.
Asking would be easier, if he did not have to keep up being Argentina. But being anyone else meant instantly being shut down.
“Hey,” The voice pipped up again, “Are you okay?” Qualms of the last name were put to the back burner. Steve shook his head. No! It was homecoming night and he was not on the field! He did not even have a date to the dance because the girl he thought he liked he called it off with. For the past three weeks, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday he’d been thinking about a four eyes. He was right back under his skin and he was just as angry as he had been as a kid.
“No.” Steve’s reply was clipped and curt. Elijah darted from chair to chair around the café, empty, he gestured to the seat across from him and his laptop. Steve left his rag on the table and took the seat, apparently he left his stomach there too. His gut twisted and turned, knotting on nothingness. Why did this feel like an interview that he lied to get in to? Five years experience required? Sure!
“So…” Elijah closed his computer and drummed on the lid. The click-click drawing too much attention, he instead fidgeted with his hoodie sleeves, already frayed with years of panic. Steve watched the stickers on the laptop lid as they went down. He learned three fundamental things at the exact same time. First, despite his original findings, Elijah was still into the supernatural. There were three glow-in-the-dark ghost stickers in one corner and a Torchwood emblem at the very center. Second, what was a Creepslayerz and why were there three stickers of the same kind? Third, he needed to say something. Elijah was polite as ever, giving time to the world around while seeking none for himself.
Silence was getting him nowhere. His counselor encouraged him to make his voice heard. He encouraged players on the team to stand up for what they believed in. Their focus needed to be on the game, not a lie. “Listen Elijah,” Steve did not need to draw his company’s attention. Nothing had been stealing his focus.
“Do you remember a guy in high school, an ass. Totally handsome. Totally a jerk. Went by Steve, well his name was Steve—is Steve.” He fumbled over his own words, his lie already getting in the way of his focus. The lead did not require much inspiration, Elijah was smart, he didn’t need things to be laid out. A string pulled up on Elijah’s shoulders. His bully, hateful and impractical was supposed to be working in a car shop in Arcadia-Oaks. Not in a coffee shop on a game night. Not looking awkward in a dim light.
“Steve?” Elijah was not sure. How could he! They looked a lot, of course, he thought Steve was Steve the first cup of coffee the other had made. The name tag was the deal breaker. Elijah could breathe knowing his past was behind him. His arm closed around his stomach, rubbing his side. His past was in front of him.
 “Yeah.”
Steve’s past was in front of him.
Steve actually said it! He was the nightmare. He was real. This night fucking sucked. Why not get it all out at once? His knee bounced, Elijah had to say something. Bastard. Why are you here? You ruined my life!
 Silence.
Elijah locked up, reconciling the worlds.
He stared and Steve read his thoughts. “I can’t play football anymore.” His shoulders sank at the confession. It hurt telling his mother, his coach, strange how it hurt telling a stranger. Arcadia-Oaks knew Steve to be the man. He posted on Instagram and Facebook constantly with updates and accomplishments. That was before the accident. He let everyone assume he was swept up in college magic, too busy to post. Eli too, had been under that spell.
“It’s hard.” He answered for him. “And…I’m sorry, dude.” He laughed tight and forced. What had he belittled Eli about? A nerd unable to play ball? This was fucking Karma. “I’m sorry.” The apology came quicker and heavy, taking several breathes from him. “I’m really, fucking sorry.” He called Elijah a cocksucker. All his fears and denials were easy to beat on someone smaller. He couldn’t fight a thought, but he could terrorize a human.
“Steve, hey man, that’s history. Are-” His lips flapped closed, Elijah nearly asked the same question. Steve was not okay, not even alright. Elijah had time to recover, distance between them had shown him the greatness that awaited him. Hours away from Arcadia was practically the other side of the world. Yet here Steve was, just on the other side of campus.
“Are you busy tonight?” Elijah asked the unaskable. Steve gawked. Was he hearing him right?
 “What?”
“What?” Elijah repeated, “I’d like to catch up. With Steve, not Argentina.”
Warmth bubbled in the back of Steve’s throat. Elijah was always this good, once it made him hate him! Now he wanted his number even more. What sort of person could face their once bully head on? Steve looked at his watch, Elijah’s eyes were too much. They scrutinized and wondered.
“In two hours.”
“Cool. I’ll have my homework done by then.”
“Cool.”
It was not cool, busying himself around the shop, around Elijah. Any by standers wandering in he hoped they steered clear of Eli’s section. He didn’t want to go over and clean up. No way Elijah would mind, it was part of Steve’s job! But Steve minded. He minded a lot. It was too soon, what were they supposed to talk about? Eli’s favorite drink? The way Steve switched between hearts and smiley faces on the dot over the I? He wanted to be obvious. He wanted Elijah’s number—all when he was someone else. Argentina. Not Palchuk.
Steve joined Elijah outside, wearing a burgundy school hoodie. The Batman symbol glowed on Elijah’s chest. Adorable. Perfect. His eyes flicked away, Elijah moving the straps on his backpack had to be a signal. “So,” What was he supposed to say.
“Creepslayerz?” Steve had noticed the decal before, he had not realized there were three. All the same exact font.
“My band.” Elijah grinned, he started them walking ahead, following the sidewalks under the yellow street lights.
“You have a band? You, Elijah Pepperjack?” In high school Elijah had been into theatre. They bumped shoulders when Steve applied for the leading role—just for a kiss—more of anything to piss Jim off.
“I do. I help write music. We actually have a light show,” Elijah pointed to himself. His shoulders rocked from side to side, a proud shuffle. “Designed that myself. Helps working as a stage hand for the school plays.” Steve could see that. The technical stuff, he doubted the band had much ground to it, but what would Elijah be able to do with a real budget?
“So you help write the music? You don’t preform…?”
“Sometimes. But Krel is really the face of the band. Aja too. She’s our hypeman.” Dancer, number one fan, Krel’s sister so she might as well be in the band. Her position only stayed unofficial to prevent a guilt trip commitment. Aja was president of the robotics club and treasurer of the international club. Her time was divided and the duo didn’t want to keep her.
 “Claire inspire you, huh?”
Elijah pulled a tight face. Not really, Claire was great and they were on similar paths but completely different styles. He hadn’t talked to her in ages.
 “Krel and Aja though, huh?”
 “Transfer students from Cantalupa.”
 “Well that sounds made up.”
“Yeah well, I think Krel makes up a lot of things. Then makes it real when you’re not looking, so I just go with it.” His smile grew, his eyes looked beyond one foot in front of the other, a place of fondness. A place where Steve wasn’t.
 “You two close?”
“Yeah, I mean, we’re friends. Roommates freshman year, roommates now.”
Steve nodded. He missed out on three years, four years before that, and more before that. “How come you’re not in the paranormal club?”
Elijah looked to Steve, a grin growing, “you know I’m not?”
“Well. I just. I’m in it so—”
“You? You’re in it?” Elijah shook his head, no way! Not Steve!
Steve grinned, doubt, everyone doubted that fact. “Yes way, Eli. I like. The spooky shit. The strange. All the junk you used to go on and on about.”
 “You’re serious?”
 “As the plague.”
Elijah covered his mouth, his smile too big for a lame joke.
“Why? You didn’t believe in it, do you now?”
“Aliens? No. Chupacabras—we’ve had some heated discussions and have come to agree they’re racoons. Which, then they say Aliens are real. They’re left by aliens. I just say the Chupa—” Steve reeled himself in. He straightened his shoulders and quickened his walk. “Ghosts, yeah.”
“Trolls?” Elijah’s stride double to meet Steve’s walk.
“Haven’t met one yet.” Steve looked at him, letting the suggestion sink in.
 “So you’ve seen a ghost?”
“Mhm. Well. I mean other than you tonight.” Another lame joke, Steve’s laugh was tight and Elijah’s exuberant.
“That is so wicked cool! Are you guys going on any hunts?” He bounced up and down, hopping in front of Steve, completely serious.
 “Are you serious?”
Elijah nodded and tugged on his backpack.
“I mean yeah, it’s October. We always get fair-weather attendees so you coming won’t be a problem.”
He groaned and spun on his feet, he couldn’t believe the club was active! Discussions and ghost hunts! “I never joined because I joined international club, thanks to Krel and Aja. Then there was the band, I got a job at one of the computer labs.” Matching his schedule to a half-interested club where he’d be nitpicked was not on the to-do list. College was going to be the change, no longer the nerd hiding in the closet. Really, he’d been missing on the chance to share his passion.
“Alright, okay, so you’ll invite me?” Eli let his words hands, his hands wiggled a neon green phone case. Oh. Oh—shit! He was about to score the number, “Um-uh,” He stuttered, smiling and laughing at himself. His hands patted his front pockets, his back and dipped into his hoodie pockets.
“Phew,” His phone stuck against his hand, he was actually sweating. “What’s your number?” He typed as quick as he sent Elijah a text. Immediately Elijah replied with a ‘got it!’ Not like Steve was literally standing there.
 ‘Dork’ Steve texted.
‘Thought you were more of a butt-snack type of guy?’ Elijah watched Steve read, smirking when his lips curled into a smile.
“Okay, now we’re getting into full sentences. I can’t walk and type.”
“We’re standing still,” Elijah gestured around them. “Wow Steve, first night back together and already leaving me hanging? Impressive.”
‘Now you’re a butt snack’ He added an emoji of a peach, Elijah bumped their shoulders together. “I’m kidding.”

Love Heals the Soul (Part 21) - Move
Tumblr media
Summary: He asks, she answers, holidays, she sings, he asks again, she answers...again. Descriptive, I know.
Masterlist
Pairing: Jensen x reader
Word Count: 4732 (whoops...)
Warnings: minor swearing (like really minor, I think like one word...), nothing else unless I missed something.
A/N:  This one ran away from me, I do apologize. Feedback is always welcome! Italicized are lyrics, POV thoughts or text conversations; you can tell by the context
The rest of your time in Austin went by so quickly, you were sad to be leaving Gen, Jared and the kids. However, you were excited to get back you your apartment that didn’t have three crazy adorable kids running around at all hours, and also a little more privacy for you and Jensen.
Neither of you had to go back to work right away, planning to have some downtime before going back to your busy lives. It was the first week of November by the time the two of you went back, Jensen busy filming a few episodes, trying to get as much done before Thanksgiving as possible.
Jensen had come over one night after work, it finally being his weekend, which miraculously matched up with yours this week, giving you the chance to spend some time together. When he walked into the living room, he took notice of your laptop with papers and notebooks all over the coffee table. “What’s all of this?” he said, nothing in his tone other than genuine curiosity. “Oh, uh, just typing up a standardized recipe book for the café, notes and such on various things,” you explained nervously, tidying up the stacks of papers and notebooks.
You both decided to order take out since neither of you felt like cooking. The two of you sat on the couch while eating dinner and watching an episode of Supernatural. You had seen all of the episodes countless times over, but it was kind of your thing with Jensen that he would tell you things about each episode, either the antics that happened behind the scenes, or the pranks they pulled on each other while trying to film. You didn’t do it every time you two were together, but every now and then, it was fun to do. Without fail you were laughing so hard you’d cry from the stories he’d tell you.
You were calming down from your most recent fit of laughter, when Jen started rubbing your arm, from where you were nestled into his side. “So, I’ve been thinking,” he started, swearing you could hear nervousness behind his voice. When he didn’t finish, you nudged him, “Uh huh…”
“Would you want to, maybe…move in with me?” Feeling your body tense, he kept going, “Only if you want to. I, uh, just figured that we’re usually sleeping together at one place or the other, both of us have enough of our stuff at the other apartment that we may as well share, and with our schedules it’d maybe give us more time together. But, I also know it’s still early in the relationship, so I would completely understand if you don’t want to. No hard feelings, I promise,” he said in what seemed like one breath.
During the course of his spiel, you had sat up and turned towards him on the couch, watching him until he was done, giving him a small smile. Exhaling the breath you didn’t know you were holding, you put your hand on his leg. “Jen, I, I really don’t know what to say. I would love to, you’re right, we have enough of our stuff at the other’s apartment, might as well just have one place. But…” you paused, for a brief moment trying to collect your words.
“It’s really ok Y/N, I’m not upset,” he said, cupping your cheek in his warm hand.
“I just, sometimes I need my own space, to collect myself, I guess re-center myself? God that sounds like a lame excuse. I just, I want to be with you as much as possible, but I don’t know if I’m ready to give up my space yet.” You looked up at him, so much sadness in your eyes, hoping he would see what you meant, since putting your feelings into words never quiet worked out in your favor.
He pulled you in, slowly, placing a warm and gentle kiss to your lips, “When ever you’re ready sweetheart,” he whispered, you nodding in response. Quietly he added, “Does it help t hat I have a second bedroom?” you both chuckled at that, with you telling him that the second you knew, you would tell him. After that, he scooted until he was in the corner of the couch, pulling you to lie on his chest between his legs. His arms were lazily wrapped around your waist, his right arm resting on your thigh.
Turning up to gaze at him, you waited until he looked down before you spoke, “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For not pushing me, for being ok with everything.”
“Of course. I want you to be comfortable. If there’s ever anything you don’t want to do, tell me, I will never be mad at you,” he said quietly, kissing the top of your head.
You watched a couple more episodes before heading to bed. Jensen had a lot of stuff over at your apartment by now, so your nightly routine was pretty seamless. It is really nice having him here, and not having to worry about either of us having to leave the next day, maybe moving in isn’t such a bad idea? But I get in those moods, where I don’t want to be around anyone, would I really not want to be around Jensen? What if he hates me when that happens?
---
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the two of you flew back down to Austin for a few days to meet his parents who, quite honestly, you were a little nervous to meet. Jensen assured you that you didn’t have anything to worry about, but the first time meeting parents was always hard. You spent Thanksgiving with his parents, since your celebrated in October. Jensen had told you about his siblings and nieces and nephews, so you would be prepared for the chaos that was about to happen.
Truth was, you loved every second of it. It was just like being back at Jared and Gen’s house with everyone under one roof. That was something that you had always wanted, a big family and big holidays. But it was only ever the four of you. Even when you were with your aunt and uncle, they only had one kid, so everything was quieter. You didn’t stay long, only a few days, but long enough that you got to meet everyone and Jensen got some time with his family.
Before going back to Vancouver, you flew up to Edmonton to see your parents, having Jensen meet them for the first time as well. “See? Isn’t this terrifying? Meeting parents for the first time? How are you not more nervous? I was freaking out before meeting yours,” You were rambling as the two of you sat in the back seat of the taxi on the way to the house. He laughed, “Parents love me, I’ll be fine. Now quit worrying,” grabbing your hand and kissing the back of it.
When you reached the house, you paid the driver while Jensen got the bags out of the trunk, walking behind you as you went in the house. “Mom? Dad? We’re here!” you called as Jensen set the bags by the front door, then followed you through the house before you found your mom in the kitchen cooking dinner. “Mom, we’re home,” you said again as she turned around from the stove. “Oh! There’s my baby!” she said, coming over to you and making a fuss, the general motherly gestures. You practically had to peel her off of you and insist that you were ok and eating enough and taking your vitamins, anything to pacify her, right? It seemed to be then that she noticed Jensen, “And this fine young man is Jensen I’m guessing?”
“Yes I am, very nice to meet you Mrs. Y/L/N.” he started, sticking out his hand to shake. “Oh honey, no. You’re getting a hug, and it’s Margaret,” she told him while you just gave him a look and shrugged your shoulders at him. “Where’s dad?” you asked, going to the fridge and taking out two beers, handing one to Jensen. “He’s out golfing with the guys, he’ll be home soon. We’re having spaghetti for dinner, I hope that’s ok?” she said, looking at him. “Sounds perfect,” he said, smiling at her, and then directing his attention to you. You just gave him a coy smile, knowing that both of you were thinking about the first night that he came over after the convention when you made the exact same meal.
Your dad walked in the door within the hour going on about something as he walked into the kitchen, noticing Jensen first. “Bob was telling me that they went about it all wrong, had to go back and- who the hell are you?” he said, stopping mid sentence as Jensen was mid drink of his beer. Whipping around, your mother yelled, “Eugene! Do not talk like that in front of guests. It’s Y/N’s boyfriend, Jensen.”
All you could do was stand in the corner of the kitchen trying your hardest to not go into hysterics over the situation. Jensen quickly stood up, reaching a hand out to your dad, “Hello Mr. Y/L/N. Nice to meet you.” You could have sworn that boy was shaking like a leaf.
“Hm.” Your dad said, taking his hand and narrowing his eyes, “Jensen? What do you do for a living?”
“Dad! You can’t just come in and give him the third degree, at least make it to dinner!” You quipped, finally stepping in to try to save Jen.
“No no, I need to know that he’s good enough for my baby girl. So, job?”
“I’m an actor, sir.”
“Hm. Anything I know?”
“Well, currently I’m on Supernatural, we actually film over in Vancouver. I’ve been in a few movies, did a season of Smallville a while back.”
“Supernatural…that’s the one with the two brothers and weird angel friend, right?”
There was an audible groan from you at this point, putting your head in your hand. “Dad, please,” you practically begged. Just then your dad looked at Jensen, the corner of his mouth ticking up in a smirk, “I’m just messing with you son, I know who you are and what the show is about. Y/N here has managed to keep us in the loop about it for the last god knows how many years,” your dad told him, laughing by now.
“Dad!” your face red from embarrassment now.
Jensen finally relaxing looked over at you, “Oh yeah? How many years has it been, Y/N?”
“Thirteen…” you said barely loud enough for anyone to hear.
“I’m sorry, how many?” he pulled, one more time, just getting your riled up at this point.
“Thir. Teen. Thirteen years. Happy?” Letting out an exasperated sigh.
Jensen responded by taking a drink of his beer and winking at you, only to get an eye roll in return.
---
You didn’t stay in Edmonton more than a few days, since Jensen had some stuff to take care of before the winter break, including the last convention weekend of the year, which you decided to stay home for. By the time you got back to Vancouver, it was going into the second week of December, and it was a winter wonderland, the city covered in glistening snow. You honestly weren’t a fan of the snow, but you couldn’t deny how gorgeous it was, especially in the parts of town that remained untouched and pristine.
Friday night rolled around, another open mic night at the café. Since singing onstage with Jensen at the convention, you had done a few nights at the café, slowly working your confidence back. You certainly felt better than you did almost six months ago. Briana and Jason were there for you, coming by after they had finished at the studio working on Briana’s album. You had met Jason at VanCon, and a few other times since. Jensen was still at work, but he said he would swing by when he was done, hoping he wouldn’t miss you singing.
Hey sweetheart. We have one more scene to shoot, should be pretty quick then I’m out of here. I’m trying to get there as fast as I can. :(
It’s ok. I’m not sure how much longer I can wait though, but I’ll try. See you soon.
You were amazed at how quickly word spread of you singing at the convention with Jensen, making the nights that you sang at the café’s open mic nights sort of a thing; the café filling up more than normal just to hear you. That was something that you still weren’t used to, given your years in theater and selling out the house, this was still a weird concept.
You tried to hold off as long as you could, to wait for Jensen, but you felt badly since you knew most of the people were waiting for you. Deciding you couldn’t wait anymore, you let Dee know that you were ready, introducing you to the little corner stage that you had grown comfortable with.
You picked up your guitar and sat on the stool, starting to strum the first few chords of the song, when your left arm decided it wasn’t having it. You slipped on a chord, your nerves starting to show themselves. Starting again, you made it a few chords farther than last time, thinking you were fine, until your hand slipped again, this time with pain shooting up your arm. Closing your eyes and trying to hold your frustration down, you had to remind yourself that there was a microphone in front of you, along with at least forty people in a small space.
“Sorry everyone, it’s been a bit since I picked up a guitar, just need to find that right note,” you said with a nervous laugh. It wasn’t exactly true, but hopefully they would be ok with that, which they seemed to be. I can’t just run now. I’m here. I have to play. But there’s NO way I can sing this without a melody. UGH. What the actual hell am I supposed to do?!
Just then you noticed Jason walking up to you, lowering his head next to yours, “Hey, you ok? I can play for you if you’d like?” he offered. You looked up at him, eyes already filling with tears from the frustration and embarrassment. “That would actually be great, thank you Jason,” you told him, mustering up a small smile.
“Of course. What are you going to sing?”
“How Do I Live, please tell me you know it?” Chuckling he responded, “I do, let me mess around with the chords for a second and I’ll be good. Do you want me to sing at all, or just play?”
“What ever you’d like, I trust your judgment. I will say, I’m a little nervous doing this since we’ve never played together before,” you told him.
“Don’t worry, I’ll stick to the original version, and since it’s acoustic it will give you room to do what you need to. You got this, it’ll be fine.” He said, squeezing your arm. The course of Jason coming on stage and talking to you was a matter of seconds, even though it felt like an eternity, but then it could have been because you hated making the audience wait on you.
“Ok! Thank you again for coming this evening,” you started nervously while adjusting the mic stand to your standing height, now that you weren’t sitting. “So, due to some…technical difficulties…someone I’m really glad to be able to call a friend was willing to help me out tonight, Jason Manns everyone.” You said to the crowd, motioning for them to give him applause. After the clapping had faded, you looked to him and he let you know that he was ready, starting in on the first few chords, listening to how he played, hoping you could pull this off for never having played together before; you found your starting point and let the words fall from your lips.
How do I Get through one night without you? If I had to live without you What kind of life would that be?
Oh, I, I need you in my arms, need you to hold You’re my world, my heart, my soul   And if you ever leave Baby you would take away everything good in my life And tell me now
How do I live without you? I want to know How to I breathe without you if you ever go How do I ever, ever survive? How do I, how do I, oh how do I live?
Still working on your confidence, you sang a lot of the song either with your eyes closed, or looking at Briana.  Coming off the second verse you heard the tiny bell above the front door jingle, not letting it pull you from what you were doing, you couldn’t help it though. The tightening in your chest and your breath catching, when you realized it was Jensen who walked in, your eyes meeting his; your words suddenly meant for only one person in that café. Briana must have noticed your gaze settle, she turned around and saw Jen, giving him a small wave to take the chair next to her.
Without you there’d be no sun in my sky There would be no love in my live There’d be no world left for me And I, baby, I don’t know what else I would do I’d be lost if I lost you, if you ever leave Baby, you would take away everything real in my life And tell me now
How do I live without you? I want to know How do I breathe without you if you ever go? How do I ever, ever survive? How do I, how do I, oh, how do I live?
For the rest of the song, your eyes were on Jensen and suddenly the rest of the café didn’t matter, they all disappeared into the background. You didn’t even notice when Jason helped out with a few of the lines, solely focusing your attention on Jensen.
Please, tell me, baby How do I go on if you ever leave? Baby, you would take away everything, I need you with me Baby, don’t you know that you’re everything good in my life? And tell me now
How do I live without you? I want to know How do I breathe without you if you ever go? How do I ever, ever survive? How do I, how do I, oh, how do I live? How do I live without you? How do I live without you, baby?
How do I live?
When you finished, you smiled at Jensen, returning the beautiful smile that he was giving you, one that showed love and promise. You turned back toward Jason, giving him a hug whispering, “Thank you so much, I owe you for this.”
“No, no Y/N. I’m just glad I could help. You were excellent,” He responded, giving you a warm smile.
Jensen’s POV
I was running late to meet Y/N and Briana at the café, trying hard to get there before she went up to sing. When the last scene was wrapped I flew out of there, barely taking time to change from Dean’s jeans, flannel and jacket to the jeans and sweatshirt I wore in this morning. Without trying to pressure Cliff too much to get there as quick as possible, we made it a few minutes under what it normally takes. When Cliff pulled up I flew out of the backseat wanting so bad to barge in there, but it was when I got to the window that I saw Y/N singing with Jason playing behind her. Weird…?
I watched for a brief moment before I got my wits about me and went inside, cursing the little bell above the door. I couldn’t help but stare. She was singing and old LeAnn Rimes song, a classic, one that I’m sure wrapped all of her feelings up into a nice four minute package. She did tell me she speaks better with music. I hung back for a minute, surprised at how full it was in there, when Briana spotted me and waved me over to her table.
“Hey! Finally! I was worried you were going to miss it,” She whispered. “Never, I love seeing her perform like this,” I said, eyes glued on Y/N with a smile planted on my face. “Jason hasn’t played with her before, that’s new…?” I asked her, almost hesitantly, without really asking what I wanted to. “Yeah, well…right place right time and all that,” was all she said, but I could tell that there was something she wasn’t telling me. I knew how her and Y/N were though; it wasn’t hers to tell, so she wouldn’t. It could be nothing…or it could be exactly what Jared was telling me?
I couldn’t even begin to describe the feelings I had watching Y/N up there, her range with the complexity of the song, even getting the higher notes. I could honestly listen to her sing everyday, she has such a strong but elegant voice. I was a little sad to hear her finish, but as sad as I was about that, I was ecstatic because that meant I could finally have her in my arms again.
Before she was even done thanking Jason, I was making my way to the stage, ready to pick her up and whisk her away. Reaching the step just as she turned, I wrapped her up in a hug, my arms snaking around her waist, my head resting in the crook of her neck. “Hey! I was getting nervous that you-“ she started saying, before I had her wrapped up in my arms in a big hug. “Nope, I will never miss this. I love watching you up here. Y/N/N, I am so proud of you, how far you’ve come since I first saw you up here.”
She blushed and buried her face into my shoulder trying to suppress a laugh from embarrassment. “I’m serious Y/N. We all are.” After a moment she pulled back, a wide smile on her face, a few small tears finding their way down her cheek. “Hey, these better be happy tears,” I told her. It always pained me to see her like that, knowing she was hurting if she was crying. Nodding quickly she responded, wiping them away, “Yes! Yes, they are. I’m just so happy right now. Thank you for coming tonight.”
“Always,” I said, looking at her, the step up to the stage making us more or less eyelevel.
“And Jen?”
“Yeah sweetheart?”
“Does your offer still stand?” She asked me, leaving me slightly confused at first.
“Offer?”
“For moving in together,” she said, looking down, suddenly interested in the zipper on my sweatshirt.
“Absolutely,” a smile that would rival any kid’s on Christmas morning finding its way to my lips. “Would you like to move in with me, Y/N?” I asked her again, knowing the answer this time.
“Yes!” she said, giggling, throwing her arms around my neck.
We finally made it back to the table, Jason having gone ahead of us. “So, what was that little exchange that was going on up there, huh?” Briana looked between the two of us with a coy smile. Y/N and I looked between one another, putting my arm around the back of her chair; I nodded to let her do the honors of sharing the news.
“We’re moving in together!” Y/N told her, that gorgeous smile showing once more. “Oh, you guys!! I’m so happy for you!” Briana responded, with Jason also giving his congratulations. “Let’s go out for a couple drinks to celebrate. To celebrate Y/N’s kick ass performance tonight, and for you two,” Briana said. Who were any of us to argue with plans like that?
We went to a bar just down the street, on the way calling Jared and telling him to get Misha and meet us there, while Briana called Kim and Rob, who happened to be in town. When we arrived, we took to the space in the back, ordering drinks from the waitress. I could tell Y/N was still on that after performance rush, but loving every second that I got to see her smile from it.
As the lot of us sat around the table, I had my arm around her with her leaning into my side. Conversations were being carried around the table, when I saw Jason look over to Y/N from a couple chairs down. “So, Y/N, have you ever thought about singing professionally?” The question immediately caught Briana’s attention, “Dude, I’ve been telling her since college that she should sing, the girls’ got a hell of a voice!”
She looked at Briana, sharing some unspoken words across the table, reminding me of Jared and me, or even of Sam and Dean. You turned to Jason. “I mean, sure, I’ve thought about it, but nothing serious. You know, one of those ‘what do I want to be when I grow up?’ kind of dreams. It wasn’t until just months ago that I even got back on a stage, now you’re asking about getting serious about it?” You asked him, a nervous laugh finishing your question.
“You could certainly do it. You have an amazing voice, stage presence is great and your vocal range is spectacular. I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to,” he said with a small shrug.
Most of the side conversations had stopped by that point, everyone focusing on this one, which made her blush since she hated the attention. Everything Jason is saying is true though, I have no doubt that she wouldn’t be able to.
“I mean…I can’t just jump into something like that…” she said timidly, feeling her shrink into my side a little more.
Jason chuckled before responding. “No, that would be terrifying. What if we start you easy? You could record with Briana on her album, it’s private, no one to watch you except the people at the studio.” Briana was agreeing to it before he even finished saying her name, making her laugh. God I hope she does this. She’s amazing when she’s performing, no matter the environment.
Rob chimed in, “You could even come to conventions with us, sing with the band? I’m sure Jensen wouldn’t mind either. And the fans loved you at VanCon,” he said with a laugh and a wink towards me.
I squeezed her shoulder, getting her to look up at me. “It’s ok, Y/N/N. You don’t have to say yes to anything right now. But just so you know, he’s not wrong about any of it, you would be amazing,” I told her, kissing her forehead. She looked back at Jason, with a nervous smile, “I’ll let you know, a career change might just be in the cards sooner or later.”
I didn’t see the look she gave Briana, the one saying that sooner or later was coming quicker than anticipated, because I was looking at Jared giving him a similar look, only it was regarding everything we talked about in Texas. I gave him a barely noticeable shake of my head, saying that I hadn’t talked to Y/N about her hands yet. What if she gets upset with me? Pushing her away is the last thing I want to do to her.
Kim cut into the conversation, gracefully I might add, taking the awkwardness that was starting to settle, and within a few moments everyone was back to laughing and drinking.
As the night wore on, my arm had moved from around her shoulders to around her waist, her fingers from her opposite arm finding mine. I noticed that she hadn’t touched her drink in a while; I made eye contact with Briana, asking if she was awake. She smiled at Y/N then looked back to me and nodded, telling me that she was just zoning out. I lowered my head to kiss her hair, whispering, “Baby, you ready to go?” All she did was nod and slowly sit up as I brushed a few stray strands of hair away. “Let’s go home, hm?” I asked her, as she gave me a small smile.

INFINITY WAR/AVENGERS 4 THEORY + ALL MY RANTS (SPOILERS)
because you know what? i’m not done.
i’ve come up with a theory, if only just to comfort myself. also, i’m still kinda unhappy over some things. (although this movie is really good, so please don’t judge the film too harshly based on other spoilers you’ve read. give it a chance and watch it before you form opinions please? :D )
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS UNDER CUT.
like, i’m not gonna censor myself. i’m just gonna rant. so you have been warned.
(if anybody wants me to add any tags to this post, just comment or smthin and ill do it yo)
LAST CHANCE FOR NO SPOILERS. WE COOL? OK.
just wanna say right off the bat, i’m not a comic fan. i’ve never read the comics. i don’t know shit about the comics. so all of this may come off as really stupid to comic fans, and for that, i apologise.
(also, after typing this all up, i’m realising just how negative i seem to come off this entire post? like, there were flaws, don’t get me wrong, i pointed out stuff i didn’t like, but overall this movie was really good. i fucking loved this movie. i went into the theatres really worried because there were so many characters and i was scared that it was gonna become real messy real quick and the plot would kinda be all over the place and overstuffed, but it actually worked out quite well in the end. there was a lot of humour and that’s great, because who isn’t up for humour? and it got real emotional and heartbreaking, and that was done really well so i applaud. i really do recommend going to watch this movie, because like seriously, it’s fucking good. went out of the cinemas and nearly walked straight back in to see it again)
now, theory first!
alright, so we remember how red skull ‘died’ right? he was holding the space stone, and as he’s holding it he starts to kinda ash away before he gets beamed up into space.
remember who else gets ashed?
just about everybody in the fucking movie (still not over that. god. i started fucking bawling my eyes out. was not very dignifying)
but yes, i think that they didn’t actually die? instead, they actually got transported to another universe like the red skull was? (or even better, their souls got sent to another universe, because after further research, that’s apparently what the soul stone does? and anyway, none of them got physically beamed somewhere like the red skull did. they all just faded to ash. i noticed that when wanda got ashed though, her entire being seemed to go grey for a brief couple of seconds before she turned to ash, and that kinda strikes me as what would happen if you lost the very essence of yourself? like your soul? so yeah, space stone beamed the red skull to a different universe physically, but the soul stone beamed them to a different universe…spiritually (also, i’m making this edit at 3 am in the morning so excuse if it’s just really incoherent)) because it didn’t escape anybody’s notice that none of the original avengers died right? only all the new heroes with confirmed sequels and shit did?
so i think they’re actually safe but just in a different place for now. and then all the original avengers, in the next movie are gonna do some shit and sacrifice themselves to save everybody who got ashed.
cus like, i refuse to believe they are permanently dead. i mean, c’mon. t’challa? the king of wakanda who’s arc only just got started? peter parker? when spiderman homecoming 2 has already been confirmed and is gonna start shooting soon? bucky? who’s had the whole white wolf thing/taking over the mantle as cap teased but neither were acted upon? fucking bullshit i tell you. didn’t stop me from fucking bawling my eyes out in the cinema. jfc i started crying like halfway thru the movie at gamora, escalated at bucky and then just curled into myself and died a little when peter clung on to tony. so yeah.
also i feel like they didn’t need to make the red skull come back and become the guardian of the soul stone. he wasn’t important, and was only there to give a bit of context into how to retrieve the soul stone. they could’ve easily just put a faceless character and have them do the exact same job and it would’ve made exactly zero change to the plot. so if the red skull is back, they must’ve done it for a reason. and that reason, i think, is the one i’ve been explaining above; to possibly show that being ashed isn’t gonna kill you, but instead transport you elsewhere. (also, yo, did anybody get dementor vibes when the red skull first appeared on screen?)
maybe this theory is just me being in denial over my favourites being killed god.
now onto my rants.
i thinkl loki and gamora are permanently dead. not happy about either deaths. loki’s was just…it’s just bullshit? he’s been killed and revived so many times that the emotional value of it is just not there anymore. and also, i don’t belive loki is stupid enough to go at thanos and pull a fucking pocketknife on him like, what’s that gonna do mate? and i feel loki, if he had a death scene, definitely deserved better than that. i feel like his arc kinda just got started, so him being killed off is kinda. urgh. so i’m pretty sure that loki’s not dead (cus c’mon), but at the same time if they bring him back it’s gonna be so fucking overplayed it’s gonna be like another episode of supernatural (i still love you spn but actually tho). so basically, marvel’s got themselves in a bit of a dump.
now onto gamora. idk, i’m just really not happy with the way she died? she didn’t deserve to go out like that? i mean, he sees his cause as the greater good, and people sacrifice a lot for their greater good, but still. not cool? i’m upset? gamora deserved so much more than to be tossed off that fuckin cliff? i actually reallyyyyy wanted gamora (or nebula) to be the one to kill thanos. maybe together. cus tbh fuck thanos. he fucked up their lives so hard, and what does gamora get in the end? thrown off a cliff, that’s what.
ALSO, QUILL. WHY. MATE. COULDN’T YOU HAVE DECKED THE SHIT OUT OF THANOS AFTER THEY MANAGED TO PULL OFF THE GAUNTLET??????? THEY WERE THIS. FUCKING. CLOSE. ARGHHHHHH.
also i’m still not over peter and bucky. god. bucky kinda stumbling out of the woods, and that little ‘…steve?’ before he just fucking. crumbles away. i was so fucking. no words. and i already knew peter was gonna die cus of that giRL (if you wanna see THAT rant, click here). but it was actually still so fucking heartbreaking? ‘…i don’t feel so good’ and ‘please, i don’t want to die’ as he just sobs while crumbling to ash in tony’s arms? i started bawling my eyes out (and wow take a shot every time i say that phrase in this post)
ok now onto some other things. i feel like this film sort of rendered most of ragnarok obsolete? like, (and this point was brought up by a friend so shout out to them) weren’t they trying to make it so that thor was less reliant on his weapons and more reliant on his own abilities and powers? and also, asgard. they gave us so much hope for asgard at the end of ragnarok, only to have it dashed apart in the beginning of infinity war. asgard? more like…asGONE. ba dum tss. (shitty joke i know but that’s how i cope). also. where. the fuck. is valkyrie?? i swear to god if she’s dead imma cut a bitch.
also, i’m sort of upsetti clint didn’t show up in this movie. BUT. they mentioned at the beginning of the film that clint was off with scott to do some other shit regarding their families or smthin, which makes me think that maybe, just maybe, clint might actually show up in ant-man and the wasp. so, looking forward to that.
so yes, i feel like i’ve been quite negative throughout this post, so here’s a couple paragraphs dedicated to all the good things about this movie and my experience and why i love it.
post-credits scene was? like, maria being ashed shook the whole cinema? and nick fury’s being ashed got me upset right up until the point where he swore and that kinda loosened the mood up. he’s so chill about everything i s2g. and that captain marvel insignia drop at the end was amazing. had the whole theatre shook. so yes, good post-credits scene.
they did emotions really well? especially in the last 20 mins, when everybody is being ashed, like, i cried. a lot. some of the emotions just came so clearly across the screen, and you could really feel what the characters themselves were feeling at the moment. some of the scenes were truly heartbreaking and beautiful (JUST, QUICK BREAK TO GIVE A SHOUTOUT TO TOM HOLLAND FOR HIS AMAZING PERFORMANCE? THANK YOU.)
the humour in this movie is fucking outstanding, but they never got in the way of the emotional scenes. the jokes were hilarious, and didn’t feel shoehorned in. they had the cinema rolling, and honestly, it was great. also, can i just say that quill being jealous of thor’s masculinity is fucking hilarious. and dr strange and tony going at it and trying to beat each other in who’s the most arrogant and all-knowing was fucking amazing, so kudos. anD ALSO. BRUCE AND HULK? FUCKING AMAZING. LOVED THEIR INTERACTIONS TBH. i would quote lines right now but i’m kinda fuzzy about them and i hate nothing more than misquoting so.
also. THOR. THOR. HIS ENTRANCE INTO WAKANDA IS SO FUCKING BADASS AND I HAVEN’T STOPPED SCREAMING ABOUT IT? IT’S SO BLOODY COOL, HOW HE JUST SWOOPS IN ALL DRAMATIC AND SHIT WITH HIS NEW AXE AND LIGHTNING AND JFALKGJRIOA yeah that was awesome.
i feel like i haven’t ever seen a movie with the audience as engaged as they were today. like, when certain characters showed up on screen the audience lost their shit and started whooping and clapping and shit. and when tony got stabbed i s2g the entire cinema just. stopped breathing. so yeah, good experience, fun times, loved it, really got me in the mood tbh.
i think i just about covered everything i wanted to say in this post? (and wow, this is a real bit of a giant brain dump. i just started typing anything that came to mind) maybe i’ll add to it if i think of anymore things, because i still feel like i have more to say even though i can’t really say anything right now. if any of you wanna talk, just message me and i’m up to listen lol.
this whole post took me the better half of three hours ( it’s also > 1500 words, and wow, i could’ve used all this time to finish my english assessment oops), so imma just go and do my homework like the good child i am (hah).
tldr; everybody who was ashed is actually alive, original avengers are gonna sacrifice themselves in avengers 4 to save the ashed kids, ragnarok was obsolete, im not happy with people’s deaths, clint might appear in ant-man and the wasp, this movie is really good and i fucking love it, feel free to msg me if u wanna talk and i’ve wasted too much time on this post. (this was still a really long tldr but i ranted for 1000 words so what can you do)
have a good one. (wow, extra aussie today aren’t we?)

★ School systems in Nanyevimi  ★
A bit of misc info about school types (magic schools, skill schools, etc.) and how some of them function and just general realm wide education system stuff etc. !! (okay not “a bit”, it actually became quite long so I will put it under a read more lol... bhbbb... why can I not... be.. brief and to the point about, Anything..)

----
There are a ridiculous amount of different forms of school given how varied the cultures within the supernatural realm are, some are exclusive to certain areas, some are exclusive to certain species, some are exclusive to teaching only one particular type of skill or magic, some are more broadly specialized, some are formal, some are informal, some have grades, some don’t, etc. etc.
The four types of schools that I’ll cover here are Magic Schools, General Schools , Specialty Schools, and Global Learning Centers. The most info probably being about Global Learning Centers, since those have the most specifics to cover , whereas the others are much vaguer categories (like they totally depend on area and individual school, are not as uniform or cohesive as GLCs).

~~~ Magic Schools ~~~
Magic schools are, just like the name, specialized schools catered specifically to different types of magic in the realm. These are the second most common type of school, though they are technically just another form of specialty school, magic is still vaguely common in some parts of Nanyevimi and can be a large part of people’s lives, so I’m grouping them separately mostly due to that and also a few differences in how they’re run compared to most specialty schools.
 These schools are somewhat similar to other specialty schools in that they can vary a lot depending on the area, but they are often more cohesive in organization and style, as there are higher forces regulating most of them. There are councils for just about everything somewhere in the supernatural realm, so of course, certain people oversee the teaching of different forms of magic (for info on different types of magic, who can use them, effects of magic, I have written a post about all the basics of magic, which should be easy to find on here) , particularly for the most common forms of magic. There are usually smaller councils of experts in a magical field spread out pretty evenly across Nanyevimi that may take on the role of regulating (or , at least attempting to regulate) the teaching of magic in a certain area, which may answer to a larger more broad magical council overall.
This is, at least mostly, due to safety of procedure the the immense dangers that can come with utilizing any form of magic, especially when dealing with young children or otherwise untrained individuals (like, people regularly die at magic schools, even though there are a lot of preventative measures in place it’s still just kind of , A Thing That’s Going To Happen When Training Hundreds Of People In Something That Is Both Deadly And Difficult To Control),, but some also criticize the wide reach of magical councils, with similar complaints as what you may find in certain academic circles, that councils end up gate-keeping, being overly precise about The One Right Method To Do Things and trying to enforce their own Traditional ways, and can sometimes be intentionally abstract and inaccessible to common people in an attempt to guard or hide knowledge.
Though this also depends a lot on the local council, as there is no Global Magical Council* , so magic councils in one area may be accepting and lenient, while only a short while away they’ll be strict and overbearing with tedious rules.  Regardless of this  variation though, probably like 85% of magic specialty schools are under the influence of some form of magical council who oversees the curriculum and does safety checks and instructs how to teach certain things.
These smaller local councils will communicate with the larger area wide council, and despite like, a million years of infighting constantly at all times, they’ll still mostly come to some form of agreement of just basic stuff like what order to teach things in and etc. , so magical schools, at least content wise, are generally decently uniform in a particular given area.
 * (well, there is a global magical council but like with anything in Nanyevimi that tries to be broad reaching and global despite the massive amount of variation, their reach is limited and small isolated communities are just going to do whatever the hell they want lmao. International organizations can be very useful and organized, especially in global cities and places like global learning centers but, in terms of widespread effectiveness you’re just never going to reach everyone, or even half of everyone, considering a majority of the entire realm just minds their own business and has no interest in global policy or communicating with some random ass council from 5,000 miles away that they’ve never heard of in their lives)
 Schools are usually separated by particular type of magic (like solely elemental magic, solely physical magic, etc.), though there are some Broad magic schools that teach the basics of many different forms of magic, it’s pretty rare and really only occurs in areas with  an extremely high population of advanced magic users (like in large Jhevona cities).
While most schools just teach straight up whatever knowledge is needed to practice the one particular form of magic and not much else, some schools will mix magic subjects with complementary non-magical subjects, so the main focus is still always magic but with helpful additions (so like an elemental magic school also offering a focus in gardening, or a mind/soul magic school having additional focus in psychology, a physical magic school (healing and health focused physical magic specifically) also having classes on anatomy and non-magical medicine, or just any magic school offering combat or physical training skills on the side, etc.).
 The common-ness of a type of school is basically the same organization as in the list of most commonly used magics (again, refer back to that general magic info post), as of course,  most commonly used magics = most commonly available magic school. Likewise, there are no OFFICIAL schools for reality and illusion magics, as both formally unrecognized and illegal forms of magic condemned in a majority of areas, especially by magic councils (one of the very very few things they can agree on).  Though a FEW illusion magics “schools” are known to exist (no reality magic schools are known because quite literally maybe only 300 people in all of existence can even use that type of magic). But most of them, due to the nature of what they’re practicing, are fairly shadowy organizations, usually with no formal campus or anything, just maybe a group of students and a few teachers who constantly are on the move, never staying in one place for too long, finding like , obscure caves and stuff to practice and teach magic in where people won’t hear about it and report them, etc. Even then, they’re still rare just due to the fact that hardly anyone possesses the ability to do such powerful magics in the first place, even if it was legal and you founded an illusion school in the most populated city in the realm, your student pool would still be tiny as hell, once most people realize ‘oh yeah, i just 100% legit do not have the inherent energy level necessary to do this type of magic without just dying or something, whoops’
(side note: so to speak in weirdly simplified ‘not-really-how-it-works-but-accurate-enough-to-explain-my-point’ video game terms like:  If the average magically capable individual has about 300 magic points of energy to use in spells, the average basic magic action (conjuring yourself a sandwich or something) would take like, maybe 20MP , doing a basic illusion magic action (discounting the extremely minor commonly used ‘hiding your presence from others’ skill) would be like 4500 MP, and even the very simplest minuscule reality magic feat would take 26,000 MP. Most people just legitimately, no matter how hard they try, simply do not have the capacity to perform the action, even if they increased their skill and inherent ability, most people can never increase it anywhere near to the point that an action worth 26,000 MP is like, something they can just do casually when they need to like with other magics lol ).
 Like with most stuff, architecture and uniforms and language spoken and etc. will all be dependent on the area it’s in (Elven native magic schools will use Elven architecture and clothing styles and will be taught in whatever local Elvish language, etc.). Pricing of magic schools will also vary wildly depending on the area, some countries don’t have official monetary systems, some will trade you 5 years of education in exchange for a barrel of foreign fruits you’ve brought, some do have an established monetary system but offer free schooling to everyone, some overprice the fuck out of everything, some will pay YOU to go to school (if you sign a suspicious possibly life binding contract), etc. etc. Food type and whether food is even provided as a part of school depends on the area too.
Many magic schools have dorms for people to live in while attending, but a few of them don’t for whatever logistical or cultural reasons. Magic schools for adults and magic schools for children are usually separate, or at the very least will be completely different buildings on the same campus where both groups are kept apart nearly all the time. Likewise, skill groups will be separated as well, pretty much all for safety reasons (like if you’re practicing dangerous high level magics you don’t want to be doing that in the same room as a defenseless 6 year old and some newbie elf who couldn’t produce a quick spell to defend himself from the explosion to save his life (literally)).
~~~ General Schools ~~~
The most common types of school. Basically just, literally any school anywhere could be considered a ‘general’ school. Often the subjects of schools, layout, class sizes, etc. will all entirely depend on the culture of the area. Many places in the supernatural realm don’t have a formal education system, so often this is just local schools in small groups taught by random ‘leaders’ of the community, mostly focusing on whatever skills the particular group finds important, such as farming, specialized magics, history, combat skills, etc.
Like for examples, to use five species I’ve established (to show some differences they can have) :
 — General schools for the Ythrili …
would be in the form of like, extremely loose groups of people getting together to meet someplace to learn a skill from one of the particular experts in that skill. As mentioned in their info, Ythrili often fall into certain roles and to some degree try to keep balanced sets of people in a few particular skills that are most helpful to society (so some will be crafters, some will be food harvesters, some will be artists, etc.),, so usually it would be people in these designated roles teaching those under them who wish to study to be in the same role. Like a wood craftsman holding a small class with 5 Ythrili students early in the morning just out by a grouping of trees in the forest or something, working with them and guiding them on their individual projects they’re crafting for hands-on learning.  They don’t receive grades/scores or qualifications or anything for completing tests of skill, they’re just kind of there to be informally taught and are considered to know the information once they know the information, people in the community will believe them if they say they have a skill  (especially since Ythrili are a pretty small and well connected group, if someone is learning to be a gardener or something, people have probably literally seen them out in the morning doing gardening work or etc.) or the one teaching the skill can vouch for them later. There technically aren’t actually formal school BUILDINGS (they don’t have many buildings in general anyway, usually live more in open wooded spaces),  but since they do have some form of organization to the way they teach others, I’m kind of still counting them as having a ‘school system’ and etc. , even if it’s using a lenient definition.

— General schools for the Fanyiniri (elves from the country of Fanyin specifically)…..
Are like the complete opposite of the Ythrili, extremely strict and formal and organized. There's a lot of broad societal organization things that would be too much of a side tangent to go into at length here, but their society is divided into strict rankings (with each citizen class being mostly relative to how close you are to the upper class  (Cit 5), but also your ability to bring ‘beauty and perfection’ into the world can affect your cit class level as well). All common children (below Cit 4) are actually raised in school facilities, nobody really has families where it's like birth parents and children, they more go directly from a birth hospital to a place to be raised by the staff of what are essentially like, large nationwide boarding schools. Children attend these facilities from usually birth (though at first it's more like a daycare and they don't start getting taught much until maybe age 4) through usually age 14 or 15, where they will then be assigned work (though you can leave facility earlier than that if someone in Cit 4 or Cit 5 "adopts" you, or if you seem to have special skills that are in high demand owners of businesses can "adopt" you as well to use you for said skills, etc. ).  Children there are kept under very strict schedule and meticulously organized while learning a usually fairly broad curriculum. Though sometimes classes can be individualized later on once children start showing more distinct personality traits and the staff can try to guess what cit level they'd fit into (like if they can tell you seem stringent about laws, intolerant of other students misbehaving, have violent tendencies, and seem to like to impress authority and follow orders and etc., they may kind of assume you'll be assigned to Cit 2 in the future (mostly law enforcement and government workers), so they may put you in extra classes tailored for those skills.  Though most students just get a very general education, usually just stuff like (limited) math, science (only some of it), combat skills (though not magic, despite elves being inherently magic capable species, magic is banned in Fanyin outside of government or corporate use, so this is just physical training), manners and culture, languages, pretty biased accounts of """history""", gardening and food preparation , housekeeping, Cultural Study Of Beauty, reading and writing, lots of exercise and physical fitness classes as well as team sports (to let them relieve stress yet still maintain and foster the whole competitive environment thing) etc. They have a weird thing about wanting to boast the most educated and advanced population possible yet simultaneously having certain areas of study literally illegal or forbidden from most of the population so, the curriculum can be quite extensive with a heavy workload and a lot of information up to a point, but then other classes will randomly be like, entirely busy work with maybe a small vague discussion of what the subject is about but never explaining much further.  There are 10 grades (you go up one grade yearly, from age 4/5 to 14/15) which students are usually separated by for the basic curriculum. Extra skill classes can be more mixed, but still try to keep students within mostly the same grade range. Classes occur daily for about 6 hours a day, sometimes up to 12 hours depending on the extra skill classes you're assigned to take, or if you're being punished.  Every few months there may be a week or so without classes for holidays, or periodic 'Necessity Breaks' (like if over 50% of students start showing suicidal ideation in their bi-weekly personal evaluations, the staff may decide to give everyone a school wide break for a little while), but for the most part you're just in general schooling centers everyday for 15 years since birth.  Later classes will start to prepare you for the outside world, usually around your 6th or 7th year of school, since all children are pretty much raised on these campuses in fairly closed off cities and generally haven't even left the small area once in their lives, so part of preparing them for work is also taking them on more trips to the outside and letting them tour job facilities and etc. and get used to like, what the actual world outside of the boarding school property they were raised in looks like. Like your 10th (last) year of school is usually mostly job and Outside World Education related, there's very little actual school subject related content at that point.  These facility schools are usually extremely competitive, with a high focus on uniformly meeting standards and high achievement (students are often made to wear certain rankings on their uniforms, grades are posted publicly, minor physical punishment (like not beating the complete shint out of someone, but slapping them in the face or kicking them or throwing something at them) is common and allowed, bullying is allowed and even condoned for the most part as it's just seen as “necessary social pressure to encourage proper behavior and standards, which will positively nurture the student’s ability to fit in correctly and learn from their mistakes, through receiving  generous cooperative lessons from their peers”, etc.). Most schools also have pretty much the exact same layout, uniforms, food menu items, color scheme, etc. with little variance by area (though they are often pretty beautiful, intricate bright architecture with hanging plants and gardens everywhere, etc. With the Fanyiniri, the setting and appearance of most places usually seems oddly mismatched to the oppressive, overly controlled, and bland daily life under the surface (like you’d expect, plain uniform undecorated gray buildings or something lol), but it is supposed to be 'A paradise of the elven people' or whatever, so I guess they keep up appearances by slapping colors and plants and (government approved) art on everything), with the apparent reasoning for this being that they’re made so that students can seamlessly be shipped around to other schools if needed and not really feel much culture shock or difficulty getting used to a new layout. Which might actually be at least partially the truth, since they do regularly exercise their right to move citizens around at random without notice, and it may indeed be useful for everything to look the same.

— General schools for a group of Jhevona in southern Nanyevimi….
(I’m just choosing a random group to focus in on for this one, obviously demons as a whole are too broad to really summarize what they all would be like, similar to other larger species like elves, it’s just hard to generalize, and I don’t really have much worked out about smaller groups  and subcultures of demons so I don’t actually have a name or anything for these people but I guess, they’re, maybe on an island, somewhere in the south, just basing off of the very loose bits of info i have so far about jhevona cultures in different areas)).  Would be somewhat of a ‘’typical’’ school setting, usually organized in a series of multiple wooden single classroom buildings all located on a fenced in campus, though it may depend on the exact area (usually when building into hills they separate out buildings, if on flat land it may all be one large building, but overall they’d still use wood mostly and whatever other materials are available in the area (sometimes mud and stone or clay). Each individual building  (or each classroom, in a connected building)  is for one level of school, with all subjects being taught by one teacher usually to a pretty small class size, then them all moving up in grade to the next building as a group, etc. Unlike the Fanyiniri school, this educational system is not very competitive, and is more focused on adding important skills to the community than on competing with other schools or meeting strict qualifications.  School subjects are usually a decent mix of practical skill and academics, depending on what the one room’s teacher is capable of explaining, but usually an average curriculum to cover in a year for a class of middle grade students (like 10 year olds or something) would be: physical training, safe magic use practices, advanced language and writing, principles of self control (very important in the type of magic they do), nature science, biology, math, advanced history, early elements of mechanics (southern demons are known for building things and having pretty advanced technology so like learning how to build small machines or create things of some sort is usually culturally passed down), a bit of foreign language, advanced geography and cultural context info (now that the kids are a bit older, getting into like, politics of local areas, the different groups around them and their cultures, etc.), food preparation/hunting/gathering/etc., and then maybe a few other life skills thrown in like certain crafts and healing magic/health stuff etc.  Magic is of heavy focus of course, as Jhevona are the most inherently magic capable species known and it usually plays a big part in their culture, though the type of magic would depend on the specific group in a certain area within the country (many southern demons are of subspecies that have particular inherent ability for soul magics and elemental magics, but even within a small town it will vary). There are also special side classes offered in some schools by members of the community, particularly things that the main room teacher may not be able to teach, like  computer science or how to do surgery or how to breed animals or etc.    Kids attend from about 7-ish to maybe 18 years old, though again it’s pretty relaxed, especially with most people in the country living in small spread out communities rather than clustering into a few big cities, it’s commonly like that sort of thing where everyone has probably grown up with everyone else, and all the locals will know whatever's going on (so like if most members of the community get together in a communal meeting area and say ‘hey, we should take about a month off of school so the children can help us with the big festival’ everyone just , kind  of goes along and agrees, etc.) so there’s not much of a strict schedule about it. They do require the kids to finish school and there are certain knowledge requirements expected of most everyone in the community to attain (especially in relation to emotional control and regulation of magic use), but since it’s such a locally focused thing, the actual scheduling of when the information is given can be a bit lenient.  The USUAL case though is about 6 days a week children attend school for 3 hours in the morning, then a two hour break, then three hours again  (due to the emphasis of familial importance in a lot of southern Jhevona cultures, food isn’t offered in school, children usually return home in the middle of the school day for a few hours in order to have meals with their family and have a bit of a break and then return back to school ).  They have no official breaks so I guess would go 6 days a week every week of the year if uninterrupted, but again, due to the informality of schools in the area, it’s likely the community members would agree on some sorts of breaks whenever necessary for practical  or cultural reasons (like so children can help with farm work, or for a holiday in the community, or because an illness is going around, etc.).  Once a kid has been declared as having completed necessary schooling and done a few tests of skill (particularly magic and survival focused, but there is an academic testing element as well) to prove they possess what general knowledge and abilities are expected of the average member of their population, they’ll usually seek extra mentoring in something they’re interested in (either by going to a more specialized skill or magic school, traveling to a Global Learning Center, or just meeting someone already in their field of interest and having them teach them privately), or especially in this area where family is super important, they may just settle down to do whatever their family does or work at the family business/skill/trade/etc. that just about every family in the community has.      School is basically always free in areas like this with no real monetary system where most goods are freely shared/equally distributed among the group or things are simply traded for. There aren’t any uniforms. Kids usually sit at group tables rather than individual desks. Sports aren’t school affiliated and are usually something done for fun after school rather than like an actual part of the school day or curriculum. Though every teacher has different skills and it’s one persons job to teach every group of students (usually about 8-10 students in one individual grade (so maybe 10 students per single classroom wooden building), there are guidelines by age group decided by the community or small local government, so like, most kids even in different areas will be taught roughly the same things around the same times, even it it varies a bit by town due to the more casual nature of school and the ability of the community to influence schedule and subject focus and etc.

— General schools for both the beach and cave dwelling group of Verrucalt …
Don’t exist at all (I wanted to include one that has no schools just to show differences), they don’t formally teach each other anything in any sort of organized way. Though children are raised fairly communally in both groups (moreso the beach group than the cave group), and do have a wide variety of people in their lives that help them grow up and learn important skills and etc. , it’s totally dependent on the individual and there’s never like, any sort of gathering of people to learn things or etc. Not even loosely cohesive lesson groups like with the Ythrili. The Verrucalt really just don’t have any form of education at all beyond maybe some random community member taking a kid to fish and teaching them how, but there’s really not any form of ‘Classes’ or anything.

— General schools for the Avirre'thel…………
Would probably be the most “”“"normal”“” (more just in the sense of being recognizable to most of the earth humans reading this) of the four. School in Navyete is pretty individually focused, kids usually start short schooling hours (4 hours or so once or twice a week initially, then gradually increasing until it’s a full 6 days (vampiric time keeping is different in many ways, one of which is them having 10 day weeks, instead of 7)) when around 5 years old.  They attend 4 years (from roughly ages 4 - 9) of this Introductory School, which essentially just teaches the most basic of concepts , mostly centered on:  emotional health, physical health, survival skills, important cultural background knowledge (like what sorts of things are dangerous for their species ('don’t ever ingest or play with unknown blood since we can have severe allergic reactions to a TON of blood types’ 'don’t go near wild animals because they will attack you’ etc.), food preparation, how to read and write, and conflict resolution/managing emotions and interpersonal effectiveness skills ,, usually adding a focus on stuff like history and math and science and languages in the older years, but those are not considered as culturally significant to teach younger children and they usually focus more on building 'Practical Life Skills' type stuff first, more about basic survival and mental health and developing learning skills and etc. in general,  as opposed to focusing in on specific more abstract studies.  At age 9 (after Introductory School) is where it starts to be pretty individualized, each person goes through school at their own pace and can mostly choose their own subjects based on areas of interest, which they’re allowed to change at almost any time. There’s an initial introduction month  before the first year of Real School actually starts, where children can sample all sorts of classes, kind of like a  big career fair or something (except with school subjects).  They basically just spend about 28 days picking and choosing whatever (you have to have 4 classes,  but it doesn’t matter which, one day you could take “writing, woodworking, chemistry, and anatomy” and the next you could take “music, food growing, computer science, and psychology”. The point is just to see what you’re passionate about).  Once that period is over,  children choose their focuses for the year and start their classes. You accumulate points for completing classes (usually broken into 4ths, even if you decide a subject is not for you and you quit ¼th of the way through, you’ll still get some points for the 4th you finished), and basically you just have to have enough total points to graduate to the next level of a given class, and to have enough overall (which is basically just like, points for all mandatory classes and then maybe multiple levels in a few other focuses that interest you.)  Though there is some focus on grades for individual assignments, their scoring system is more lenient (like one super bad grade isn’t going to totally ruin your average) about stuff like, if someone’s doing well overall but one particular chapter just happened to be bad for them, etc. etc. They’re mostly focused on individual competency and understanding of the work overall, regardless of if the person misses a few tests or etc., and usually put higher weight on the hands-on experience tests rather than like, just testing scores (like if you don’t do as well on tests in chemistry but then when they let you sample out working in an actual lab for like 2 weeks you do extremely well, they may overlook the test scores since obviously you’re literally able to do the job in practice even if for whatever reason you have issues putting it onto paper*).  ((*where applicable, obviously some subjects (like medicine and etc.) have to be a bit more strict, but this is the general rule))  School is usually about 5 hours a day 6 days a “week” (10 day periods), with breaks for all different holidays and etc. in between (so there’s no like large continuous break with months of time off, but more like, every month you probably get a few days or more off for all the different events that go on in vampiric culture. Also you get 4 days a week off by default, which would be organized depending on the schedule your particular school follows. Like if A = days you attend school , and B = free days, your week would usually either be organized like ‘A A A A A A B B B B’ , ‘A B A B A B A B A A’  or ‘A A B A A B A A B B’ , either way you get four days off a week, so that can help as well with relaxing despite not actually having any designated stuff like 'summer breaks' necessarily. )  There are a few mandatory classes along the way (sex education, continued conflict resolution and emotional management courses, health & safety, usually some form of self defense or combat focused class, and basic language/science/etc. classes just to make sure that like, everyone can do basic things, like communicate, read, write, resolve conflicts, identify basic health issues common in the population, defend themselves, follow the rules for safe blood feeding, etc.), but a majority of the school system is very individualized to the student’s preference. Which works well for how their society is structured (most people work specialized skill jobs on a small scale (like most stores are just little shops on the street, most things are handmade by craftspeople, most all unnecessary work is automated and most people working are just doing it because they like to, because it’s fun, etc. Most everything is bought just from your local market and etc.), as people generally have jobs solely out of passion rather than than necessity, and if they ever want to change  skills or do something else, school is free so, most people just pick something they really like and specialize in it fairly early on, working at it out of personal interest, changing later if they want. It's not as big of a deal if people hop around from subject to subject, or choose a specialty they end up hating later or etc., since their survival doesn't depend on getting and keeping a steady job in a certain field. And if you are still totally interested in the same exact focus you picked out when you were 10 and stay passionate about it and end up working in that field without ever trying any other skills out or switching careers, then that's fine as well.   They feel it’s mostly not necessary to teach people things they won’t use and just culturally lean towards focusing more on promoting the population having a mix of a lot of practical skills (which is mostly leftover from the thousands of years of war time where it was absolutely necessary to focus on practicality and safety and unity above all else, so more of a focus on survival skills and ability to get along effectively in groups and such) and individual specialized passions, putting more of an emphasis on school being for personal development and bettering one’s life and community, rather than it being more strict and abstract achievement based (especially personal development, since if you’ve read the basic intro post about the Avirre’thel you know their historical focus on reaching perfection through self development just for the sake of doing so  and etc.). Basically they just want you to know how to keep yourself and others safe, how to get along with your community, how to survive out in the world, and how to defend yourself, but other than that, you can choose to focus on whatever skills or ideas you find interesting.  (also, keep in mind they are an immortal species.. so, it's pretty much assumed someone is going to have multiple skill focuses in life. It's rare someone lives 4,000 years and keeps doing the same exact thing with no interest at all in any other topics whatsoever, so they're also more casual because it's like.. you're probably going to end up changing your focus and hobbies and goals like, 40 times over the course of your life anyway, as long as you have a grasp of the basics, who cares how many times you switch what you want to spend your time on or what area you like to study, with every new thing you try out, even if you don't stick with it, you're still adding to your knowledge base and personal development so.. its all cool with the Avirre'thel.. just, do whatever you want dude lol)  If you get full points in a particular area of education,  you can graduate at like 13 years old, while some who work slower or have to repeat classes may graduate at 25.  Neither is shamed and both are socially acceptable. Average age to graduate from schooling is about 16 - 20 depending on which academic subjects or technical skills the person is focusing on (and sometimes people stay in school longer to learn more, like if you had gained a full amount of points taking all levels of biology and chemistry classes, you could still always decide you wanted to stick around another year to take some music classes or something, even if you don’t need them to “graduate”). You can go onto a further school from there (a global learning center, or local specialty schools like medical or law), or you can just be done and use the skills you have (sometimes if your passion is very particular you may only be able to take related interest classes to get your points but then have to move on to a specialty school to get a deeper knowledge of it, like if your particular General School doesn’t teach neuroscience, you may just initially take psychology and biology and etc. then once out of general school go to a specialty school just for that). Schooling is usually mandatory up until completion of enough points, but there are life aids and extensive counselors all throughout schools who can help with any issues or give special help or allow you to take a few years off of school (or make a case for you quitting all together) if you’re in a bad situation, or can help you access free housing and food or etc. and get in a better situation before continuing.  School appearance and etc. usually varies a decent bit depending on the area, though most still fall in line with typical vampiric architecture, with them being large buildings made of carved stone with tile or stone floors and ornate metal detailing. They do serve food daily, despite Avirre’thel not really needing food to survive, since it’s mostly dependent on an individual vampire’s feeding style, they usually allot for all of that by providing optional food daily but also allowing students to sit out and do studies instead or something while others eat. Students often cook for other students (like those in culinary classes and etc. will handle lunch time under the supervision of the adult kitchen staff/chef teachers), so usually the food served at school is similar to that which is eaten most often in the local culture of the area, with specialized popular dishes and local ingredients gathered by the community being used in cooking. Uniforms vary a lot by area, but are usually some sort of gender neutral layered robes, like a lot of more traditional Avirre’thel fashion tends to be (maybe down in southern Navyete they have slightly less layers but especially in like, northern areas where it’s regularly - 30F and stuff, uniforms have to be pretty warm as well lol). Though they don't wear traditional headwear and stuff or use the same patterns as ancient avirre'thel clothing, it is usually the same thing of just.. kind of flowy tailored robes that are warm but also easy to move around in, usually with scarves and gloves included if in colder areas (heating buildings isn't like.. super popular in Navyete? their culture is more just like 'yeah idk we'll just wear 8 layers of clothes inside our own homes, why would we waste energy on heat?'. Though some schools do have electric heating systems and stuff, culturally, it's not considered weird at all to just... sit in school all day with scarves and gloves on in a huge frigid stone building lol. It would be the same way most students live at home so it's just like, they don't care I guess lol. As long as they have warm clothes, they're well used to being in icy freezing environments 24/7.. that's just how it is in Navyete most of the time)

Bhhgbb I know the Avirre'thel is longer than the other ones since obviously I have the most developed about them as my current Focus Species or whatever, but hopefully even with the other ones being less detailed, the five examples can show how different schooling throughout the realm can be. Your general schools and broader school system are really just going to depend a lot on where you are and the local culture of the people and society you’re in.

~~~ Specialty Schools ~~~
As the name suggests, these are really just, schools that specialize in something particular.
 Many areas in the supernatural realm are organized in smaller isolated communities, so the specialty schools offered in the area will vary a lot, some having none, others having a lot, all subjects usually being different. It’s probably most common for specialty schools to be based around subjects like medicine or building construction, or metal working and etc., usually things that are necessary for the community but not inherently intuitive or easily taught by most people (though there are definitely some small communities where like, everyone is raised knowing how to do healing magic or etc. etc. , generally, skills like that will be treated more as specialty skills).
In a majority of places in the realm,  people are taught from a very young age how to prepare and harvest and grow food, so specialty schools for stuff like cooking or gardening tend to be some of the rarest, as in most places it’s just common knowledge. In areas where creative talents are highly culturally valued, many specialty schools will be for music, art, writing, pottery making, etc. It’s especially common for general schools to involve Practical Life Skills (like combat, survival, maybe some basic history and language but not much else), but then for there to be many individual specialty schools where people can learn more creative crafts, especially ones that are also important to the community like clothes making and etc.
 Which is pretty obvious I guess that most of it will just depend on the focus of the people.
Like for example a group of demons who are of the subspecies that mostly works through dreams and the mind, may have a great deal of specialty schools in the area involving things like psychology and neuroscience and etc. , despite otherwise being fairly lacking in science study opportunities and most every other skill school in the area being more focused on food or primitive medicine or construction. Sometimes due to random cultural reasons people will be very advanced or overly focused in a few specific areas even if they aren’t in others, which is especially the case for more isolated communities. Or like, Navyete having a lot of specialty schools for working with stone and metal, due to like 90% of their architecture style just involving carved stone with metal roofs or detailing,, or them having many many different schools of combat and different physical training styles, due to their history of being at war with magical species (who obviously have the upper hand since.. uh.. . they can like blast energy out of their hands lmao) and a big thing in past society having been that everyone needs to be pretty strong and agile and adept at hand to hand combat to ever stand a chance,,, or also how they don’t have many schools focused on cooking and food, considering that most Avirre’thel don’t have to eat daily to live and have wildly varying feeding schedules, so things like cooking, while to some degree culturally important, really aren’t seen as necessary skills in a population where like 30% of people only feed less than once a month and etc. etc. Basically specialty schools are vague, and the subjects taught are going to depend a lot on the culture and community needs of the area the school is located within.
~~~ Global Learning Centers ~~~
The most broad but also least common type of schools are those classified as Global Learning Centers, which are basically just massive schools that cater to any type of student, and teach a huge variety of basic skills: basic trades and craft skills, basic languages that are the most prominent in the realm, basic forms of magic, etc. etc. The topics at the schools are usually pretty broad reaching, with most schools offering about 170 - 800 total course subjects (not including different levels of the same subject, if you counted the multiple levels of each topic as well then it’d probably be more like 460 - 3,000+).
These really only exist in larger Global Cities, which are like, cities in Nanyevimi with a huge variety of people all in one place***** (< I elaborate more on the context of global cities and etc. at the very bottom of this info, but since it’s more of a side tangent about the organization of the world rather than about schools i tried to put it at the very end lol). There are about 45 such schools in existence, usually each enrolling around 8,000 - 26,000 students each. GLCs (global learning centers) are usually still under influence of the local country or government of the lands they’re located in, but they are additionally regulated and managed partially by international councils  and relevant other groups. Especially things like inter-species communication groups and etc., as they generally have to employ a lot of external resources in terms of allotting for the correct housing and food and what language should be spoken in classes, etc.
Like for example, if you were to host a small group of Vampiric/Avirre'thel students from Navyete at a GLC, you’d need to consider things such as:
their native language is Avirrekava which is a small isolated language unlikely to be spoken on the rest of the campus (so they should be spoken to to decide which language they’d like to be taught in (for example if they knew a second language that was more widely spoken, or if you should provide them an enchanted item that automatically translates words for them in real time or etc.)
temperatures above 70F can make them sick (so you should make sure they’re not required to go into hot areas of the school, ensure that they room with other species who need a cold environment, or provide them enchantments to help with it)
they will need some supply of blood to stay alive (talk to them about their feeding patterns and what the cafeteria would need to import for them)
many wild animals will attack them on sight (either give them an enchantment for this or ensure that their classes take place away from parts of the school that host animals, don’t require them to take classes with animals)
they can not touch certain metals and minerals (give them an enchantment for this or else make sure that none of the things they have to touch to get around (door knobs, etc.) are this sort of material, don’t require them to work with these materials, give them special gloves, etc)
they are an inherently non-magical species (so always have a non-magical way of doing things (for example if the only way to get to the second floor was a personal magic powered elevator, they wouldn’t be able to use it and would need stairs, etc) and don’t put them in any classes that require them to do things magically (or else just have a second optional non-magical form of the classwork, etc)), etc.
So because of stuff like that and the huge variety of things to consider with any species (maybe one person needs sunlight to live, another  person’s flesh will burn off if it sees the sun, so you have to find ways of meeting both needs), there are often different representatives and special councils involved to help advise the school staff about like, blood incompatibilities and cross species diseases, cultural history of certain groups, most particularly health needs and survival needs of different groups, language accessibility, etc. etc. And often outside groups of mages are contracted to make all of the enchantments needed.
Usually a school will settle on a baseline way of operating that works for the maximum number of  students possible, and then any adjustments that need to be made can be added by giving the other students enchantments (like say if a vast majority of the population was okay with an average room temperature of about 50F, but then a few students will die if they’re not at a constant 80F and some will be harmed if they’re not around 30F, then the outlier students may be given enchanted rings that regulate their temperature independent of external room temperature or something (free of charge, with free magic recharges) to wear for the full duration of them attending the GLC ).
So anyway, overall the schools will be reasonably unique in architecture and layout and etc. and a lot of those sorts of choices are made by those in the local area who own the school (so a place in elven lands may have their traditional elvish architecture, elvish as a main language, etc.), but often many decisions are also influenced by external organizations and advisors, for the sake of everything running smoothly and just due to the massive amount of information you have to take into account when dealing with anything in the realm on a broad scale.
(side note: Managing all of this information is especially significant in global areas, like most places in the realm can get away with being inaccessible or etc. because it’s their own place, like you wouldn’t go on a day trip to Navyete, which is  2,000 miles away from your home city, and expect all the signs to be in your own very specific language or etc.****.  Though a good many places in the supernatural realm do have at least some resources for foreigners, there is no uniform globally enforced established requirement for them to do so.  However in all global cities and places where the entire point is being accessible and open to literally everyone and easy for them to get by living and working and etc. in that area, there’s usually  A LOT of thought put into city layout, housing, resources available, etc. etc. and the same goes for GLCs like… you by nature HAVE to provide equal access to things for all of your students, which in most cases you literally wouldn’t be able to do without the aid of external councils and etc. to help guide and educate you and help with planning. Whereas a non GLC, like maybe just an Elven mage’s college or something, would be under no obligation to not just have every class in elvish and provide only elvish food and etc. etc. And of course you can still attend if you can deal with that or use enchantments to make up for any differences or etc.,, and they may also take it upon themselves to offer extra resources or etc. , but they’re not  literally by nature REQUIRED to as is the case with GLCs (just like an average elven city is not held to the same standards of inclusivity as an official Global City).
So basically it’s like, any person can for the most part attend any school they want (depending on the school system in the area), but in more homogeneous areas, you’re kind of taking a big bet on whether your experience will be made easier or not (which i don’t mean like, just plain culture shock or language barriers or something...but like literally, extremely serious issues in some cases. Like a vampire trying to attend an elven school that is within a country where it’s just 100% illegal to produce, harvest, or consume any product derived from any part of  a  living animal, and the school does not supply alternatives or other options for foreign students then it’s like? well?? lmao?? you’re just going to rot without access to blood?? maybe you can take a 3 hour trip out of the country borders every once in a while to refill?? maybe you can risk breaking the law ? how do you ever feed?? do you just,,stay sick permanently from lack of blood access?), whereas if you’re attending a GLC you pretty much are guaranteed to be provided whatever you need for it to be an accessible experience for you, so it’s not just up to random chance whether the country the school is in has those policies or not.
Most of the point of GLCs are for it to be a more secure and reliable option for schooling, especially for species with rarer or more incompatible needs than the average person. You can choose any school, but GLCs are usually ideal for a lot of people since they’re such a safe bet, especially if there’s no schools on the topic you’re interested in within your local area and you’re having to travel outside of your native land  for schooling.  If you’re already isolated away from home alone in a foreign country,  it’s usually safer to go to a place that’s legally by nature required to be accessible and helpful to you, than to just kind of randomly hope that whatever other school you find will be able to do the same.
****(though this obviously differs depending on context, in some cases it would be expected of or legally required for a country to make changes to be accessible to others, like in the case of bringing in a lot of outsiders for work reasons, due to destabilization in the area, etc. but here I’m  meaning like, just a single solitary traveler that isn’t there due to broader societal , economic, or cultural reasons in which it would actually be necessary or morally/legally expected for the country in question to provide extra aid to them)
-
(extra side note: Safe areas like GLCs are especially important for groups with negative associations, like how many people mistrust Jhevona and etc. While legally they may be able to attend any school, it'd be much safer for them to just try to attend a GLC where they're guaranteed respect and accommodation, because their experience may be awful if they just went to any random place, where people weren't monitored by international standards and were free to be as biased in grading and treatment as they wanted to. Especially since travel through the realm is already so dangerous, if you end up going to the wrong school, alone, far away from all family and friends, with no supervision or any regulations to look out for you, especially as a member of a commonly disliked group, you may end up just getting killed by the students and staff or something. Random schools that are unaffiliated with broader overseeing councils and standards (like all GLCs are) are under no obligation to accept you, tolerate you, cater to you, treat you equally, or keep you alive. Though I left the vague brutality of the realm out of my earlier explanation, since really that sort of thing is usually common sense, and it's rare for people to walk into an area where they'd be in danger and not know about it first.
(like for example, the unconditional personal rights laws in Fanyin (and Mippya) technically only apply to those of Cit 5 (which does not include travelers or students), which means like... technically.. stuff like murder, kidnapping, violence, etc. is not.. illegal? Or at least can be, depending on who does it and where (Cit 1 murdering a Cit 3 under any condition would be awful and illegal, Cit 3 murdering a Cit 1 even if in broad daylight right on the street would not be illegal at all, unless it were done in the presence of tourists, in which case it's only illegal because it would make the country look bad and crimes should be done in private to keep the streets beautiful. etc. Most laws are like that, where they're.. ridiculously conditional on a lot of things, like your social status, location, loyalty to the government, etc.), but as a foreign student you're not actually guaranteed ANY sort of protection AT ALL. While the government of the area does their best to keep stuff like this a secret so it doesn't hurt tourism and public reputation, it's common enough knowledge that MOST people wouldn't consider going to school there, just out of basic common sense, since it's like.. "yeah my stay may be 100% fine and I have a great time in school...however there's also technically plenty of conditional situations in which it would be legal for someone to kill me and face no repercussion??? so????? maybe another place??" lol)
So it's like, usually, it's just a choice between two reasonably civil school options, but maybe the GLC seems nicer or etc. etc. If you're looking into travel or going to outside schools in general, you'll likely be pretty aware of places to avoid, so it's often not a life or death scenario or anything. People are mostly aware of where they do and don't belong, and what areas would be safe for them and which parts of the realm they're likely to just be killed by the locals in lol. )
 -
GLCs are sort of like colleges, but are not restricted to a certain education level, as school systems vary so wildly throughout the realm there’d really be no way to tell (one person’s “middle school” is another person’s “high school”, some people just don’t even have a local school system, curriculums vary, two people may both have graduated top of their local school system but one school system taught primarily how to grow beets and write books and the other mostly focused on abstract philosophy and elemental magic, etc. etc.), so it’s really just “we don’t require any background qualifications to get in at all, just give us your personal info and sign up and then take the entrance exams relevant to the particular few classes you’ve decided to take and then you’re in”.
(which the entrance exams usually aren’t too extensive, it’s not like you have to know everything about the class you’re taking (unless you’re applying for an upper level class where they’re starting off assuming you already have a certain level of knowledge), a lot of them are more just ethics questions and personal stuff like why you’re interested in taking the class and etc. just to weed out people who may treat the material poorly or don’t actually care about being there (like if there was only one spot left in the class and it was between someone who answered about how this was their life passion and how they had traveled 400 miles on foot just to get here to take this class and then another person who was just like “idk me mum told me i had to sign up for some dumb shit so you know whatever, idk why im here just trying stuff out”, then based on those entrance exam answers it’d go to the first person lol).
So because of this as well, there’s no set age, though  you do usually have to be at least “at an age of relevant maturity” to attend, which for humans would be around 24, for elves (who physically age slower) would be around 34, for vampires (who age slightly faster than humans but are just able to stop their physical age at a point bc Immortality Complications) it’s usually around 20, for some very slow maturing species it could be up to age 50, etc. It depends (mostly on when it’s agreed upon that your brain is fairly developed and you’re able to make reasonable decisions, are not affected by lack of experience or mood and personality changes due to growth and hormones and etc.).
Younger people can attend in special cases, but usually have to be separated and escorted specially and are not allowed to live on campus (not due to lack of trust in the young people, a 10 year old in a class would be treated equally to an elderly person, as long as they understand the material nobody really cares at all. The extra rules for younger students are exclusively due to having to protect them, with them being more vulnerable to harm or predatory behaviors). Which is actually somewhat rare, as most schools in the realm don’t actually have a definite age you have to be to attend, while they will separate students by age or skill level or etc. many schools  are not as strict about this as GLCs are.
GLCs usually have most students living on campus, especially since they’re common places for people to travel just to attend school (so like, 90% of students probably don’t already live and work in the local city, likely 80% of them aren’t even from the area the school is set in,  they may have literally just arrived from a 50 day trip solely to come to access the education they’d like). Housing and necessities are provided and specialized to some degree depending on the student (like they’d probably house people together that have similar environmental requirements, compatible sleep rhythms, etc.), as well as food which at least two meals a day are guaranteed  (with more, or larger, meals for species who need to eat more to survive of course. It’s just the ‘three meals a day’ thing really is not a concept in many places in the realm with it varying a lot between people eating once in the morning, once at night, once every few days, multiple small meals throughout the day, four times a day, whatever their culture calls for, etc.etc. So most GLCs as a middle ground for that will just offer like two meals a day officially, but students can get them at any time , you could pick up both your meals at once and eat them at 7 am, or get them early and space the contents out into 5 meals at regular intervals, you could just not have their food at all and cook your own meals, etc. etc. )  which are also specialized to the needs of the students if necessary (importing a small supply of blood for Avirre’thel students, etc.) .
(they also often feature food courts with little restaurants and communal kitchens and small grocery stores on campus, so people have even more options for buying and cooking their own food without having to go out into the local cities to do so, but at a bare minimum they do at least always provide you with the two meals a day)
GLCs just about always have uniforms, but they are pretty loose with how they’re worn and offer a lot of different alterations or modifications and different versions for students with very different anatomy, and even with pretty standard humanoid anatomy they offer a lot of choices (so like instead of ‘bottoms are either pants or a skirt!’ it’d be more like you can choose from: long skirt, overalls jumper dress, shorter skirt, medium skirt, split skirt, shorts, skort, long loose pants, long tight pants, short shorts, knee length shorts, capris, overalls shorts jumper thing, pants with a skirt over it, pants or shorts with like kind of skirt flaps surrounding them in segments, etc. etc. etc.), and will for the most part let students wear it however and modify them (cutting the sleeves off of a shirt, adding cute bows to your outer jacket, choosing never to wear the outer jacket at all, etc.) as long as you’re not changing it to the point it’s unrecognizable (like dying the fabric a different color), since the one of the main points of uniforms is mostly to be able to easily identify and keep track of students on campus. The uniform specifics (color, style, etc.) will usually vary by school.
There isn’t much structure aside from just, make it to your classes on time, take care of your needs, and follow the rules of conduct. Class length and start time totally depend on what class you’re taking and usually operate on their own independent schedules, the cafeteria is open at all times and people just come get their two meals whenever they want (if they want) and there’s no set time to eat, most places on campus like libraries and etc. are open at all times as well to accommodate different schedules, there’s the occasional area that may have a curfew or time that it closes and students shouldn’t be there, but it’s usually pretty open with the times things occur and etc. There’s no bed times or quiet times officially, aside from the dorms being separated to allot for different schedules (like rooms for people who sleep during the day and wake at night being all the way across campus from those who do things during the day and sleep at night), and just general rules to be considerate.
Leaving and entering the campus is reasonably regulated, you have to provide identification and pass through the usual non-magic areas (due to the prevalence in Nanyevimi of stuff like enchantments and shapeshifting, usually public areas where your identity is important to confirm (like workplaces, schools, etc.) will have rooms you have to pass through that are enchanted to override all current magic, so like if you’re shapeshifting to steal someone’s identity, when you pass through the room, your shapeshifting magic will be cancelled out and you’ll be temporarily rendered into a natural state free of all magical modifications where you’re unable to use any form of magic, meaning like… you’re going to go back to yourself and they’ll find out obviously you’re not actually who you were pretending to be lol)), and there’s usually a log kept of the people coming and leaving*.
(*mostly since a majority of people at the school are foreign students who are there entirely alone with no connections or support system in the nearby areas. They take responsibility for the students, so like if they leave and it’s been 3 days since their last return log and they’ve missed classes and stuff, the GLC has to notify people to look for them and etc. Since in general, the population of GLCs is pretty vulnerable to kidnappers or murderers or etc., considering  they don’t have a family or job or apartment or anything that would notice if they went missing, really the only people who even know about their existence in the area would be the school and maybe their Friends at the school if they have any, thus staff at the GLC have way more provisions in place to secure the safety of students and track their movements, make sure everyone's still alive and nobody has been kidnapped or gotten lost, etc.).
(side note: GLCs are actually a common area for people to stalk to find targets, especially with stuff like the blood market, or scientists who aim to kidnap and study rare species and etc., foreign kids with no support systems in the area are a good catch, so the GLCs are usually like.. VERY guarded and protective, and new students get introductory classes about the land layout and social climate of the area, suspicious groups and behavior to look out for when traveling etc. etc.)
While some schools in the realm of course are more focused on making money, looking good on paper with high score statistics above all else, promoting a very specific agenda, or etc. , the point of a good majority of schooling systems in Nanyevimi is just to give people access to learning skills that they’re passionate about in order for them to improve themselves, their community, the local workforce, etc. etc. and to spread important knowledge and trades across the population. Likewise, that is the focus of all GLCs, so they don’t really require any unnecessary classes or hold very strict rules about timing or etc. You graduate essentially whenever you’ve mastered the skills and completed the courses of the particular studies you chose. There are certain levels of qualification you can attain that will have certain requirements (like if you want to be able to legally call yourself an “[insert name of your GLC here] Certified Medical Doctor”, you have to have taken and passed a particular set of classes ), but you can mix and match whatever you want, if you just wanted to stop by and take a single music course and then leave the school with a certificate saying "i passed the level 1 music course at my GLC", that would be fine, or if you wanted to stay on campus for 15 years taking a huge variety of classes to meet 5 different levels of qualification and leave school with 80 certificates declaring all the levels of education you’ve completed, that’s fine too.
It’s usually on a course by course basis, with some influence from if you’re attempting to meet one of the higher qualifications or not, but pretty open to customization and you just learning whatever random things you like until you feel that’s enough. Average stay at a GLC is 3-5 years. You can also re-try classes how ever many times you want, whether it takes you a full school year, half of a school year, or 3 full years to master the material of a given course, you’ll still be given your certificate accordingly just whenever you’ve got it down. Though their scoring system is a bit more strict than some schools in the realm (since they try to keep education and requirements fairly uniform across GLCs, one school’s low score isn’t another school’s high score, etc.), it is a little evened out by you getting as much time as you need to learn things.
GLCs by nature are required to be free to all students who pass the entrance exams to their classes , though this can be difficult depending on the area. In some cases they have to limit or put a restriction on the number of students that can be attending school at any given time and hold off new students until a certain number have finished or etc. (in the case that the school is still charged for supplies and thus spending money per student but not receiving any, they may have to limit student body to only how much the donations from outside organizations and etc. will cover) , or they may have to limit classes (some areas are fine with the school being free but want to limit what they’re able to teach, like in an area where non-violence is a major concept in their culture, they may allow the school to operate free of charge but require that they do not host any form of combat classes, or that if they do, the classes are paid for separately), or in some cases call in external defense force to protect the school  (in some places where the governments or culture are extremely profit focused, so many people take issue with the concept of something being offered without anyone making money from it that there are regular attempts to like, shut down the school, attacks by the citizens themselves or local law enforcement meant to frighten everyone out of the area, etc. etc. so to protect students and etc. they’ll have to have more extensive guards and etc.
( Though this is rare since obviously GLCs want to avoid this and try to not host schools in areas where this would even be an issue in the first place, or any other place where they could foresee other  dangers (for example countries like Fanyin, places in the middle of wars, militarized countries where it’s legal for the leaders to basically just do whatever the hell they want and ask people with weapons to enforce it (so they could walk up on the school and kill everyone and it would be perfectly legal and okay aside from like, probably being condemned/possibly starting conflict with the countries around them, but not if they cover it up well), etc. just anything in general where it would be putting the students at too much risk to host a school there), but there are still like, a tiny handful of cases where maybe a school has been in an area thousands of years but the area just now recently is starting to have those sorts of issues, or where like, it’s an extremely good area to host a school due to it being near a major travel hub or something so it’s very convenient and accessible for students but just like, ONE of the local governments is wild as hell but the pros outweigh that con, etc. )
But in general, most GLCs have no issue with this, since like, the broad majority of places in the realm have free schooling anyway (also most GLCs are in global cities so like, those areas are already going to be open to the concept due to the nature of the area as well), or have their monetary system organized in such a way that it’s something that’s easy to set up, or don’t even have an established monetary system so it’s not much of an issue in the first place, and there are plenty of groups who offer funding if it’s necessary, like international councils for the support of learning and education or etc. etc. But yeah, for the most part all GLCs are by nature, free of cost to the student, though there may be a few limitations or the occasional thing that is expected to be paid for depending on the cooperation of the local area, usually certain councils will offer to pay student fees in those situations, or etc.
Legally, GLCs kind of operate almost as an incredibly small country within their own campus, though like mentioned, they are still under the laws and control and etc. of the local area and the founder of the school, at the same time they do also have those requirements set on them by the larger councils and external groups who help manage the GLC, so sometimes like in the case of finances the GLC sort of acts as it’s own like, independent group, negotiating terms with local governments on it’s own behalf, or having certain laws and regulations that are applicable on campus but may be different off campus, etc. It’s usually a kind of weird situation, but works out since almost always both parties are in agreement, but again with stuff like money or being caught in the middle of local land disputes or etc, especially schools that have been established in an area for a long time will kind of act as an independent party trying to negotiate with local nations or governments as a separate entity with their own interests and etc. when necessary.

And that’s basically stuff about schools I guess!!! I have trouble organizing what exactly are important details and probably have added some unnecessary things or left out some important details that I just didn’t think to elaborate on lol but, this is mostly just a very vague run down of how schools and stuff work in the realm, just for reference if I ever end up mentioning them or etc. !
~~~
 ***** Aforementioned side ramble context for the whole global cities thing and how the supernatural realm (Nanyevimi) functions as a whole:
In most areas of the supernatural realm it’s pretty uniform depending on where you are, there may be other groups at certain travelers hubs or other areas, but for the most part, anywhere you are will be primarily inhabited by like 1-3 main cultures or species.  Even though the supernatural realm has a ton of different groups in it, many stay isolated mostly in their homeland or centralized area, as travel can be costly and dangerous, and just plain difficult.
The way that everything is lined up is like,, in one country everyone is one specific  type of elf and they all mostly speak their own language and they use magical technology and have cell phones and computers and rooftop gardens and they use a silver coin with a star in the middle for their currency , but then you travel just a mere 300 miles away and suddenly EVERYTHING is completely different, it’s a country primarily inhabited by orc-like people who all speak a totally different language and use fire to light their homes, communicate everything by letter and travel on foot, they use dried animal pelts for currency and have no conversion for the currency you’ve brought from the previous land, etc. etc.
Things like language barriers and cultural differences are easily overcome, especially if in a group that can use magic, but sometimes things like people existing literally on a nearly different timescale than your own (thus processing the very nature and importance of events and perception of their entire existence differently than you), or having such vastly different biological needs from you (one can only live in the heat, one in the cold, one must eat metals to live, other is allergic to metal, etc.), the uneven spread of technology, and stuff like magical areas vs. non-magical areas,  can sometimes make it much harder to relate to or trade with others (at least harder than it would be if most people lived generally around the same timespan and had similar physical needs and the technology to effectively communicate across longer distances).
Which isn’t to say they dislike others, there are not many groups that isolate themselves out of hatred for their neighbors, and most cultures are at least reasonably welcome of travelers or visitors or negotiating with the people near them, but it’s more of just like, they just don’t feel the inherent need to expand themselves or go many other places, generally, especially species with a slower growing population or those in already kind of isolated areas that don’t often have large scale internal conflicts or etc. (since there wouldn’t even be much logical reason for them to travel elsewhere other than out of curiosity, but not the type of urgent necessity like what happens in wars or when there’s not enough resources for a group or etc. ).
Like for example if you’re a small  2 foot tall squirrel species that lives in trees and has a lifespan of just about 50 years old on average and your highest daily concerns are just making cool huts out of grass and finding enough berries and writing cultural story songs in your language to pass on to your offspring before you die, you’re probably not going to be very concerned with the giant 19 foot tall humanoid water creatures that live a little off the coast of your forest and live for 8,000+ years and spend most of their time building underground monuments to their group of 22 celestial gods and eating fish and that don’t speak any language you think you could even come close to understanding because you literally can’t even produce the same noises with your mouth anatomy. And yeah, they take small pebbles from the shore sometimes, but overall they don’t bother you or interact with you and they’re just so far outside of the scope of any of your most pressing daily concerns and you feel like you couldn’t even comprehend the way they’re living anyway so, you kind of just leave them be? And sure, if they were being killed or needed resources or something (assuming they’d even be able to communicate that to you), you’d help them out since, why not? You have nothing against them. But, for the most part you just don’t think of them, you’re busy with your grass and your songs. Maybe a few members of your squirrel group get curious and go out to attempt to talk to the others occasionally, or create a religion based off of these strange water beings and leave them flowers at the shore from time to time to maybe gain luck from them or something,,  but overall they just seem so abstract to you, never make contact with you, and aren’t causing you any harm so?? you just don’t think about them often.
Like almost in a way there’s SO MUCH variance in so many ways between different groups and species and etc. that it ends up being difficult to establish a more concrete sense of uniformity or unity across the realm. Small areas can group together, and plenty of species can exist alongside each other and etc., but the wide variance in biology and technology and inconsistent travel and communication systems and isolating environmental factors and etc. make societies exist more in little isolated centers and tiny civilization pockets around the world, rather than all being one huge interconnected system where everyone knows about everyone else and trades with everyone else and etc.
( though there are plenty of global organizations and international councils that try to promote unity and safe travels and will help represent you or give you a translator or etc. if you have to be traveling between a lot of countries,,  trains that run between large areas and etc..  and a handful of  broad sources of global connection on a large scale that are present and available and at least somehow accessible from some areas. and of course, global cities and stuff. But these things aren’t present everywhere, and are not super widespread)
The current state of Nanyevimi is kind of just like, a bunch of little distinct pockets of people (towns,  cities, villages, etc.) within slightly larger distinct pockets of people (countries) all of which likely don’t really have much to do with the pockets of people beside them (with the exception of a few major conflict areas, or major areas of unity where there’s a lot of alliance between groups in the area) and just kind of sit alone doing things in their own ways, with the occasional like, interference of a global council or something asking permission to build an international railway through the area or asking if it’s okay to escort travelers through the lands or etc.  Other than communicating for only the most utterly necessary of trade or resource exchange, most groups don’t go forming political alliances with other groups or trying to integrate others into their culture or take over their lands or etc., they just want to keep to themselves.
-
BUT ANYWAY, this is context on why “global cities” are kind of an actual distinct thing, since you would think like, “every city is a global city”, but usually cities are pretty much just the people in the area and not much else. Like for example, most large cities in Navyete still are mainly populated by vampires, since the entire population of Navyete is like over 96% Avirre'thel due to them being an extremely isolated people generally. Even though they’re still large bustling cities with many inhabitants, those inhabitants are mostly all people who speak the same language and are from the same culture.  Then compare that to some of the major coastal cities in Asen, which,  though they are right next door to Navyete, have a massive variance in population and are usually places where you find businesses and schools and groups and species and cultures from legit all over the entire world collected in one place.
(Asen is a very “global country” overall, despite being originally founded by the Fanyiniri and elves still being the slightly dominant population in the area by most measures (especially if you count rural areas), Asen has operated as an independent country free of the Fanyiniri for like 10,000 years, and it just so happens to be really conveniently located for hubs of global trade and etc).
So, yeah. Something being a 'global area’  (cities, learning centers, travel hubs, etc.)  is actually fairly unique and uncommon in the realm as a whole. Though there are many attempts to unify the realm (like people always suggesting ‘universal languages’ or like, having every living species classified in a registry to keep track of them all, or to have like, established communication networks or councils involving every culture/nation in the world, etc.), these usually, hardly ever work or even get off the ground as an idea (since with most things there’s a lot of criticism of if that should even be a goal in the first place, implications of that, etc. etc. It’s usually some professor brings up an idea and then his colleagues split into  groups of differing opinions on the matter and argue about it for a few years and then eventually drop it) , so , Global Cities and stuff are usually the closest thing to a unified society that exists. Little tiny pockets of the world where, at least on a smaller scale, you can find the extremely rare event of like 90+ unique humanoid species all chilling and trying to get along with each other in one space.
