for the WIP game, maybe that justsolanders and the mass effect aubreyad au?
alright! <3
So my JustSolAnders fic is also, of course, my Inky!Anders AU - I have a whole lot of bullet points!
Backstory-wise, Hawke romanced Sebastian, and she sided with the Templars. Merrill and Isabela managed to sneak Anders out of Kirkwall and onto Bela's ship, with Fenris's help(he told Hawke he wanted to do it himself, she believed him and left him to it. He told Anders something along the lines of "You don't get to not live with this. That's a worse punishment than making you a martyr: do what you can to make this right." [I don't think Anders needs to be punished for exploding the Chantry, but Fenris does.]); they also got Bethany out then, too, and some of the youngest apprentices.
Anders then eventually made his way to Ostwick's Circle, where he befriended a Mage-Templar sibling duo, Evelyn and Maxwell Trevelyan, and helped them stage the strange Ostwick exodus; unfortunately Maxwell was one of the few killed when Ostwick's Circle dissolved. Evelyn urged Anders to adopt her brother's identity, for Anders' safety, and because Maxwell would have wanted that (Anders and Max may or may not have had a romantic relationship, I haven't decided if I want to give Anders another dead lover).
As Maxwell Trevelyan, Anders became relatively well known as a voice for mage integration as opposed for isolationism, which is why he was invited to the Conclave
Leliana recognises him from Vigil's Keep (Leliana-romanced Warden, they may or may not have had a threesome with Anders. Probably did but it's never confirmed in fic), but is content to see what happens, because she can't resist a little chaos. He manages to avoid Varric until after the explosion; Varric is immediately convinced Anders is at fault (obviously Anders is the lead suspect in a Chantry-related explosion <3 ) but importantly does NOT tell Cassandra who he is at first, because Varric also knows the all-important rule Don't Talk To The Cops, and Anders' disguise is decent enough (short-cropped hair dyed black, beard also dyed black) to give him plausible deniability towards not immediately recognising him.
Solas immediately recognises Justice in Anders, but does not say anything because it's Solas. Also, he's intrigued by this guy with a spirit in him because of course he is.
In terms of general info, Bethany takes the role of Hawke, because even Varric can agree that Hawke has gone off the deep end. The only thing that could make Varric dislike Hawke is promising to lead an Exalted March on Kirkwall. Which she has done. Loghain is the Warden Contact; I am hand-waving how Bethany knows Loghain because I am do what I want. Merrill is the eluvian expert, not Morrigan, though she is also there, with a Loghain-sired Kieran; she and Merrill have a very intense and possibly leaning towards sapphic rivalry about the eluvians.
The Mass Effect Aubreyad AU WIP is a bunch of disorganised notes that I toss in there when I think of them (and mostly a list of who is what kind of Alien), but here you go!
Maybe Andromeda? Stephen would like that, EVERYTHING is a nondescript. He can name so many things after Jack if he wants to
Jack is a human. He is the most Human Guy I can think of. Platonic Ideal of Human Man
Stephen is either a drell(assassin/spy) or a quarian. I cannot make up my mind but it's definitely one of these.
I cannot decide if Diana and Sophie are humans, or asari, or if Sophie is a human and Diana is asari - they could still be cousins even if Diana is asari, and then it can be extra tragic when she dies. Bc she should have outlived Stephen by hundreds of years.
James Dillon is a turian. He is SUCH a turian. Platonic Ideal of a Turian. Probably still had A Thing with Stephen.
If not set in Andromeda, is Jack Shepard? Maybe? That would be very stressful for him. That would be very stressful for everyone. I do not think Stephen would cope well with Jack being Lazarus'd. It would be funny tho

i think hawthorne and cadence share the same taste in books, and exchange recommendations
morrigan and jack and jupiter and kedgeree have chess rivalries, and have a chess tournament together every sunday
hawthorne goes to thrift stores and gets the weirdest shirts, and wears them with pants that clash horribly
jupiter loves puns and morrigan hates them
cadence is a theater kid (specifically design crew)
the hotel deucalion runs dnd nights, and frank’s the dm. there’s a recurring group that includes arch, jupiter, dame chanda, kedgeree, nan, and miss cheery
cadence plays the flute. she taught herself through looking in on other lessons because she couldn’t find someone to teach her
francis loves snakes but his aunt doesn’t. arch has a giant pet snake and francis visits it

Does anyone else have constant thought experiment/What Ifs?/crossover daydream fantasy things where a bunch of characters from different franchises and series are put into a white room and you’re there as an ambassador to promote cross-universe/cultural understanding between those characters, or are you normal.
It’s not harem, it’s not therapy, it’s not intervention. It’s just..crossover anthropology..Psychology. I want to see how characters from different backgrounds, worlds, and such would interact with each other, *with* the only limit on their actions being that they are immortal in that time-space, and their lethal actions can cause pain and injury, but not permanent death. If they are a character with a curable disease, disability, or whatever, then another character could permanently heal them, though.
Something sort of like the CN bumpers where Johnny Bravo and Samurai Jack are doing laundry, or the whole CN cast is chilling in the movie theatre. I would love to see what cliques or rivalries would form out of a composite of, IDK, characters from all my favorite franchises when their immediate location-, context-based goals are removed.
My nerdy list would obviously include:
Game of Thrones (arguably the most normal group, but medieval.)
Mass Effect (Aliens! Sci fi tech!)
Dragon Age (Magic!)
Arcane (Steampunk and guns!)
Naruto (Ninjas!)
Witcher (Magic! Medieval shit!)
Dishonored (Magic! Assassins! Steampunk!)
Fallout (Tech! Sorta normal people!)
ATLA (Kids on an adventure! Special inner powers!)
Supernatural (Literal living myths! Demons! Two dudes that have already experienced a lot of meta themselves!)
My predictions?
Characters that would gravitate toward each other:
[GoT + Witcher]
[Arcane + Dishonored]
[Naruto + ATLA]
[Mass Effect + Dragon Age]
[Dragon Age + Witcher]
[Supernatural + Fallout]
Specific characters I see really getting along:
Original!Naruto (Naruto) & Aang (ATLA)…really Naruto and the whole Gaang. He’d love Appa after getting over how huge he is.
Geralt [Witcher] and Ned Stark [GoT]; Geralt and Iron Bull [Dragon Age]; Geralt and Corvo [Dishonored]
Solas [Dragon Age] and Javik [Mass Effect]. Hoooooooo boy
Hancock [Fallout 4] + [FREE SPACE] feels like a wild card. If anyone can get past him being a ghoul and doesn’t hurt anybody in his presence, he can get along with anyone.
Potentially Mr. House [F:NV] and Silco [Arcane], if Mr. House’s condescending attitude doesn’t trigger Silco too much. Also potentially Silco and Daud [Dishonored]
Heimerdinger [Arcane] and Pietro [Dishonored]
Morrigan (Dragon Age) and Yennefer (Witcher), but frenemies most definitely.
Tywin Lannister [GoT] and Emhyr var Emreis [Witcher]. Either it’s gonna be bosom buddies or they’ll do a “keep your enemies closer” sort of deal. Both will immediately sense the other as a BAMF and garner the other’s respect, at the very least.
Characters that would either avoid each other or trigger Hostility/Aggro if near each other:
Cersei [GoT] and Morrigan. Cersei and literally everyone that has a mouth, tbh.
Solas and Caesar [F:NV]. Cataclysmic. Do not. Do not. Do not. Do NOT—
Petyr Baelish [GoT] x Everyone. He is going to sour every other character’s default goodwill toward him eventually. He is gonna be the guy no one can stand but no one can get rid of. The more vocal, honest, blunt characters such as Naruto, Silco, Dean, and Geralt are gonna point out his bullshit whenever it comes up.
And that’s all I got because I may want this, but that doesn’t mean I know how characters would actually interact. I have only 3% creativity.

Faces of Thedas
The new RPG sourcebook from Green Ronin that may just be a must have for our collections.
Tumblr media
Looks like we will be getting a new book from Green Ronin that will focus on interesting and important people and organizations in Thedas.  Green Ronin had already digitally published what they promised would be a series of profiles of various people in Thedas, such as Tallis and Varric, but after Inquisition, Green Ronin said that the project had been halted so that they could create a book that would fulfill the same function as the pdf guides and even go beyond.
“Some of the included characters will be companions from the video games, like Varric or the Iron Bull. Others will be important NPCs who help shape the world, like Empress Celine of Orlais or Commander Cullen. Some will be characters who basically filled both roles, such as Morrigan or Leliana. Smaller entries will feature characters with perhaps a bit less influence but tons of personality. Most of the characters included won’t be villains in the traditional sense, though of course most of them could run afoul with PCs in a game under certain circumstances. Important factions will also be discussed, such as the various assassin’s guilds or organized crime syndicates in Thedas.
But that’s not all! It’ll also be developing rules for romance, rivalries, and similar personal interactions within the AGE ruleset. These elements are such an important part of the Dragon Age setting, especially as portrayed in the video game series, that it’s time to explore how one might tie those concepts to the tabletop rules.” (Ronin Round Table: Faces of Thedas, by Jack Norris, 8 December 2014. Emphasis added.)
Hopefully the book goes beyond the information we already have from World of Thedas I & II.  Given the level of interaction and access that Bioware usually gives its publishing partners, like Green Ronin and Dark Horse, there is a decent chance we will learn new details about Thedas.  Edgehall, a Green Ronin creation, has even been featured in the new Knight Errant comic series from Dark Horse, which is giving us insights into political intrigue in Thedas post Trespasser.
The book blurb on Amazon and TFAW says:
It also includes new rules for managing and using relationships in play, giving additional depth to rivalries, friendships, and romance. Major organizations like the Antivan Crows and the Carta are also detailed.
And let’s face it: aren’t we all interested in the “rules” for having a romance in the rpg, especially if they apply to characters that are unromancable in game. ;)
That might be too much to wish for, but we’ll still be checking it out...just in case. (And more information about the Crows, Carta, etc. would be nice too.)

I rolled my eyes immediately when they said Lexi and Peebee have a “rivalry“ because wow, I’ve never seen this trope before! It’s not like we had the same thing with Miranda and Jack. And Miranda and every other woman. And Aveline and Isabela. And Leliana and Morrigan. I could go on.
