Happy New Year Lovelies!

Well, happier for some than for others, it seems. Eagan Connolly is raising quite the fuss about the disappearance of someone named Will Monroe—details are light on who exactly Will is but apparently he's known to some as a local prostitute. If you see her hobbling around, maybe keep a wide berth, since they’ve been heard muttering to themselves in public. If it was something worth worrying about, the police or Mayor Nat herself would have informed us, of course.

We have multiple witnesses having seen what looked like a very upset Christopher Winters and a very concerned Jim Dunford in town the other day. They were arguing about what sounded like a cheeky New Years Eve kiss that they shared. Jim seemed to be trying to placate Christopher, who was not having it, shoving the man away and stalking off. No news yet as to whether Emma Dunford is aware of this. For all we know, this might be her way of having her cake and eating it too. Christopher and Emma are also expecting a child, which begs the question, is now really the time to try something new?

Speaking of their upcoming adoption, the baby’s birth mother has also been on her own romantic adventure. Josie Reigh and Gabriel Westfall are official, at least if the people overhearing her referring to him as her boyfriend are to be believed. The two seem to be quite happy with each other. Alas, not everyone seems to be as over the moon as they are. Nico Garcia stills seems hung up over Miss Reigh, which is no surprise, since he always was the more sensitive brother. He has repeatedly been seen intoxicated at the Sasquatch and was even heard propositioning one of their bartenders. One lucky contender who took him up on the offer is Jessica Sinclair. That girl's taste has always been questionable—but perhaps this is the one who will break her streak of heartbreak?

The younger Garcia brother isn't the only one moping and drinking his sorrows away at the bar. Theodore Collins has become the latest member of the lonely hearts club. Many have remarked he's been overly temperamental at work with some adding in that he and Kirby have officially called it quits. However, seems they're both quick to move on. Theodore was spotted hitting on Morgan Vovk, who took him home "as a friend"—you can take that as you will. Meanwhile, Kirby has been seen multiple times leaving the drive-in with Edward Langston. Now, sonsidering he should be focused on helping raise his goddaughter, you would think he'd reconsider his priorities. Kirby is fun but they're hardly the person you'd want around when you're trying to be responsible.

talon is a bit more than a bit drunk at this point, attempting to process everything he's learned from this fun festival where he's gained nothing other than bad news and somehow accidentally winning a floral umbrella. when the bartender asks him what the strangest thing about being back in town is, hearing jasper's boisterous laugh from across the street, he blurts out, "me saca la piedra que el sinclairs vivir después de a pesar de todo". he takes another swig of beer, before glancing at -- "morgan vovk ? " he slurs. after a considerable silence of still ruminating on the bartender's words, he glances back at morgan. "do you not have cable here, then ? you don't have commercials ? no geico gecko ? "

Zarina let out a soft laugh as she showed Morgan the pendant that Hank had given her for her birthday—now turned into a keychain. "It belonged to his mother. I would have worn it as a necklace, but it clashes with the pendant that Knightley gave me, so I figured this way I'm still carrying it with me everywhere."

on May 17th we lost another one of our own. Morgan Vovk saved a scout stuck in a tree but unfortunately passed as a result of a fall in the process. she is survived by her daughter Zarina Knightley.

the memorial took place the afternoon of the 19th, with many in attendance. she was well-loved by the community and will be missed, if the pile of gifts and flowers on her desk at the station is any indication.

in a place where monsters and natural disasters constantly kill, it's easy to forget that mundane everyday things can also result in tragedy. be careful out there, folks.

She looked through the items on the shift adding a few to her basket as she saw things she wanted. she glanced over to the blonde in the isle before doing a double take. "Oh my goodness Morgan!? Hello little lovelies!

We all know Bucky's Diner. We all love Bucky's Diner. Now with that out of the way, can we please, please discuss the waitress staff at Bucky's Diner. One girl went on a full on rant about one of the young men in this town. Unfortunately, the name was not caught, but it seems she has very bitter feelings against this man. Hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned. It does lead me to wonder who it could be. My sources tell me she was recently spotted with Theodore Collins. Though he's such a sweet boy, so I have no idea what he could be doing out with Samantha Thompson.

Then again, he may no longer be as sweet as he once was. Men do have a way of losing their minds around a pretty thing in a tight outfit. Our own Officer Vovk seems to have entertained Mister Theodore for a late night cap. With how much she's been frequenting The Sasquatch, not to mention visiting beds all over our fair town, it's not much of a surprise her parents didn't see her as a capable mother.

Speaking of parenthood, it seems a Happy Father's Day will be needed for a newly discovered father in town. A little birdy informed me the Romero clan has once again grown by one. How fortunate for everyone that she followed her father's profession. May I be the first to congratulate our own Doctor Hawthorne Romero on the reunion with his daughter Doctor Zelda Rowan-Romero. I'm sure his partners will be more than thrilled to help him ease into this transition. Who knew we'd have our own sequel to Three Men and a Baby right here in our little town?

So, those are the updates I've been given, and here is where I should tell you to send anything else you have for next time. Some of you may even be angry while reading this, wondering why this column exists, why this gets printed. My response to that is to ask: who do you trust? That is a genuine question I ask of all of you. I don't go out looking for this information. Once upon a time, this was an advice column, but now we're stuck and we pass the time by reading about other people's petty problems.

Who do you trust with your secrets? Who do you trust with your life? I've been asking myself that since news of Evora Kaplan's passing. Who are we meant to trust in this godforsaken town? She was a good person, and a damn good journalist, and they were passionate about every piece they wrote. Now she's gone, and it's not hard to speculate why - why someone would want someone like them to be silenced.

I don't have the answer to these questions. Maybe if I was more like them I could find out. Maybe if I was brave like her, I would keep digging and not stop until I discovered the truth. What I do know is that we lost someone very special this week.

I know that, and I know that this column isn't going anywhere. It may not be the way they would have done it, but I'll keep sharing the news as it comes my way, and I'm willing to bet more than a few of you will keep enjoying it. Be safe out there, lovelies, and may Evora Kaplan's memory be a blessing to all of us.

Hello my little lovelies!

My, you've all been such busy little bees this beautiful springtime. Of course with spring comes the birds and the bees, and since our lovely flower festival last month, love seems to be all around us. It's always great to see the community able to find hope in these dark and tragic times.

The younger Romero and Sinclair still seem to be going strong, and on top of that, their dance classes have been the talk of the local mom groups. Good on the Romero boy for finally settling down with a nice, respectable girl... A rarity in that family, I can assure you.

Now, I'm not one to judge, you all know this. But I can't help but feel a touch concerned over two new lovebirds. As it turns out, I'm not the only one worried about little Miss Genesis - I have received quite the earful from many concerned citizens who have seen her gallivanting around town with that computer boy. While he may have been cleared of suspicion, it still feels rather uncouth of them both after poor little Gia's tragic passing. Here's hoping our Head Ranger can help lead the girl back on a proper path.

Speaking of darling Gia, it does pain me to bring some much more unpleasant news. But I am one to tell you the truth at all times, and that has always been and will always be my promise. I have been repeatedly tipped that TJ Spade had a physical altercation with Gia prior to her tragic demise that went so far as to leave him with a scar after she defended herself against him. Why he is still allowed to roam free, wandering town as he pleases, has stumped many. Are we giving special privileges to commune members? Is the Mayor too afraid to prosecute them like we would any other town member?

As for the Commune, I have never had anything personally against them, as long as they remain proper members of the community - even if they enjoy their isolation. However, it has been told to me by a trusted source that one commune member shot another former commune member. It was claimed to be accidental, but the timing just seems interesting, doesn't it? A commune member leaving the house, becoming engaged, and then being shot? It just makes you wonder what really is happening behind closed doors.

Another thing for the police to investigate, I suppose, if they aren't drowning in existing case work. Or perhaps in their own personal dilemmas? A reliable witness has informed me that Officers Vovk and MacGillivray not only had a torrid affair in their youth, but that the union resulted in a baby, whom they then gave away. Bless that sweet child, whom I have confirmed would be around 27 years old now. Wherever they are, at the very least they're free of all this insanity.

Whoah, I am exhausted sharing all this news with you! But that is all that seems to be new in town, or at least what my anonymous, reliable sources have been willing to share. Stay safe out there, my lovelies. Remember, I'm always here to provide a shoulder to lean on. Love, Auntie G.

Hello Lovelies ~~

Well, let's give a big cheer to the wonderful electricians for fixing the power around here. It makes it so much easier to be able to work. These hands aren’t what they used to be, and trying to write up everything on pen and paper really did make it feel like we were living in medieval times. That being said, you all have been finding some very creative ways of keeping yourselves busy and entertained this past summer. 

It seems the Commune is very much struggling currently. We’ve all heard about poor Mr. Abernathy, which is a tragedy for all, and he will be very much missed. However, it seems there have been cracks in the foundation of that house long before this. Antonio Estrada Jr has been removed from his position as secondary leader of the house. Why this could be is anyone’s guess, though it has been shared he is also leaving the house altogether, alongside Mylene Karimi. Two long-time members leaving during such a somber time does put into question how well things are at the Commune. Is it possible Sunflower’s increased strictness could be doing more harm than good? So much for one big, happy family.  

There is also the matter of how well those two will adjust back into town life - especially for Antonio. Poor Mylene may well have to be the main breadwinner for those two. Once again, my sources tell me that Theodore Collins was brought up in regards to Antonio’s removal as second-in-command, since those two just can’t seem to settle down. Whether their grudge may escalate now that he’s no longer at the Commune remains to be seen.

Although speaking of Mr. Collins, he has been quite the social butterfly, seen once again cozying up with our very own Officer Morgan Vovk. Bit of an odd time to continue flirting with a taken woman who's trying to rebuild her family, if you ask me. But to each their own, I suppose. Who knows? Maybe Officer Vovk would prefer a younger man nowadays?

With no power it seems others have had the same idea of meeting up in the late hours of the night. Zoë Clarke has been spotted quite a few times now leaving Axel Addams’s house in the early mornings. Now I know she loves to conduct her own interviews, but it is highly doubtful the two are doing much talking during these meetups, don’t you think? If I may provide one piece of advice for the possible new couple: make sure to clarify how exclusive you are. Communication seems to be a pressing issue lately in this town. 

On a final, happier note, we do have to congratulate our Principal Christoper Winters and Miss Emma Dunford on starting a family. While Josie Reigh seems to have continued her wild adventures, it seems she is learning the hard way that actions do, in fact, have consequences. Thankfully, the two have graciously agreed to take the future bundle of joy from her when the time comes. A wise decision in my opinion, the two are much more capable of raising a child. Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to go enjoy some much needed AC. Although please try not to let things cool down too much around here. I’m always happy to provide a listening ear to you all. "Anyway, that's the story of how I became Queen of the Chem Lab at MIT for about two weeks by winning a drunken fencing duel," Zarina finished, picking up her drink and having another sip. She had been enjoying her meetings with Morgan, getting to know her better, and sharing stories from her own life as well—heavily sanitised, of course. Setting her glass down, she looked over at the other blonde with a smile. "How are you doing? You seem to have a lot on your mind lately."

The last day of the Faire, the sky was overcast, with rumbles of thunder in the far distance. As Mayor Nat stepped up to the podium set up in front of town hall, a small crowd gathered to hear the announcement. She proceeded to declare Pandora Flowers as the winner of the costume contest, and withdrew the sword to present to the winner of the tournament, Morgan Vovk.

Before she could, though, Quinn Buckley from the commune ran up on stage and grabbed the microphone from the podium.

“Listen! You have to listen. This, all of this, is because of a being far greater than us! It sent the creatures from the woods to test us! To separate the weak from the strong. It judges us because it wants us to be ready before it reveals itself. We have to listen! We have to—“

Sheriff Henry attempted to take the microphone from her, but she struggled against him, still shouting into the microphone.

“It’s real! I felt its presence! Those that listen will be saved!”

Thunder rumbled, closer than before, much closer. A loud crack of lightning illuminated the sky, blindingly bright. Beyond the clouds, briefly visible in that split second, loomed a shape, unrecognizable and massive, both bulbous and gangly. As quickly as it appeared it was gone, and what remained was the sizzling body of Tristan Wilde, struck by the lightning. The sky opened up, then, as thunder boomed directly above, and rain and hail pelted the town.

“It’s there! You all saw it! It’s real! We have to submit!” Quinn wailed, as Henry attempted to pull her off the stage. “I can prove it! I can walk amongst them untouched! I’ve been chosen! You can be chosen too!”

Her cries fell away in the deafening downpour, and those that had gathered scattered to find shelter in the nearest buildings. Whether or not they saw something or, if they did, if they believe what they saw, remains to be seen.

The storm raged on through the night, as the creatures wandered the streets unperturbed by the rain and hail. The lights of the town flickered and then, as lightning staggered across the sky, everything went dark.

(Those that ran to find shelter found themselves stuck for the night. Below you’ll find the (randomly selected) groups. You can choose for your characters to have seen the shape in the sky, to have not seen it, or to have seen it and not believe it.

Everyone can continue/finish their event threads, as all this took place on the final day of the Faire (the 29th). You may also time-jump threads, headcanon threads, or make new threads for the plot drop. The event officially ends on August 5th, at which time please do not make any more event starters, however you can continue all threads until completion.)

Excitement vibrates through the crowd as they gather to watch the final round of the tournament. With the horses freshly tacked and ready, our two final competitors saddle up and enter the jousting lanes.

The bell goes off and it’s a tense ride as Morgan Vovk and Briana Ryan race toward each other, poles extended.

They pass each other once, twice, with no unseating, when finally Ryan hits Vovk squarely in the chest, knocking her off her ride.

First round goes to Briana Ryan!

Vovk saddles back up and returns to her lane, kicking off with a vengeance as the second bell rings. She looks determined and focused and hits Ryan in the shoulder. That’s not enough to knock her off, but coming back around Vovk gets another hit in and Ryan is on the ground!

Second round goes to Morgan Vovk!

It’s anyone’s game at this point, folks. As the ladies return to their respective lanes, the crowd cheers for their favorite picks. Who is going to win? With a win for each, we need only one more win for either of them to declare the champion.

They pass each other once, twice, each one struggling and succeeding on staying on their horses with each hit from the other. The audience watches with baited breath as they come back around for a third pass; is this going to be it?

Oh! Vovk gets a good shot in. This may be it, folks, Ryan is struggling to stay in the saddle. But no! She manages it! They go back for another pass and . . .

It’s Vovk! Morgan Vovk hits Ryan square in the chest with enough force to knock her off her horse! The crowd goes wild!
