Living Harmony AU relevant character sheets/info: Harmony aka the "Tree of Harmony" Stygian Somnambula Starswirl the Bearded Shadow Lock is actually an official canon character from the IDW comics No. 51-53 and I really enjoyed his mini arc introduction enough to include him as a more significant part of my "Living Harmony" MLP AU animation project. When I found out he's a direct descendant of Stygian, one of the Pillars of Equestria, I had to find a way to work him in and give him a bit of an updated design to fit more into my story setting I have planned. My good friend Ori helped vector my finalized concept redesign in the very top image. Listed below is some character and story context for these sketches provided by my myself and Ori who's been a huge help in fleshing out the world building with this cast of characters I'm using in this AU so far. Shadow Lock's main abilities and canon backstory are expanded upon and/or flavored a bit differently here as well.
Stygian’s distant descendant, the last living branch in his family tree
Lives alone in his family’s castle after they retired to the town of Somnambula
Temporary antagonist to the mane 6 that stems from a fear of the Pony of Shadows returning to plague Equestria
Believed he was descended from a monster and desperately tried to erase any mention of the Pony of Shadows from written history
Was talked down from his history erasing spree by Twilight and ends up traveling around Equestria to find more info on the Pony of Shadows, without trying to erase the knowledge this time, and prevent it from returning
The symbol on the front of Shadow Lock’s cloak is his family crest that dates back to Stygian's time period.
There’s a glamor woven into Shadow Lock’s cloak that enshrouds its wearer’s face.
Shadow Lock’s special talent is the concealment and binding of dark magic. He can effectively bind malevolent “spirits” into vessels where they’re unable to cause harm. This can also be reversed as an unbinding spell. ("spirits" in this context are more like a culmination of lingering, concentrated dark magic that takes on a will of its own)
His family castle used to be quite “haunted”. It’s quieter nowadays, but he does have a large collection of miscellaneous items that most ponies would consider “cursed…”
Always carries a healthy stack of books on his person to read and use as a weapon. His spells can pull fictional characters and monsters from stories to fight for him
Created a spell that can trap a creature into experiencing a historical event on loop by using a small amount of written text. The spell can be broken by doing something significant enough that did not occur during the looped event in history.
Shadow Lock and Stygian are extremely hesitant to meet each other at first in present time. The mane 6 and Harmony step in as mediator eventually to help them work out their issues so they can reconnect as family
Much later in the story, Shadow Lock invites Stygian to live in his castle once their family relationship is repaired, the two becoming inseparable
His original design from the comics:

More Batman/My Little Pony au art because these are ridiculously fun to draw. Part 3 here! Part 1 here!
More info under the cut!
1. Sweet Talk/The Harlequin (Harleen Quinzel)
Originally contracted to work as a psychiatrist for the Tartarus villain redemption program, Sweet Talk had a unique relationship with the Joker. This relationship was proven to be even stranger than her coworkers had originally assumed when she broke him out and joined him in his life of crime.
Devoting herself entirely to her new life and relationship with the joker, she covers her original cutie mark at all times. Snce her horn was snapped she can no longer cast precise spells, leaving her magic mostly emotion-based and intensely volatile, (typically manifesting in the form of sparks, zaps, and explosions).
Other Notes:
-Using Tartarus as a substitute for Arkham Asylum for this au because why not.
-The villain redemption program did NOT go well. Sorry Twilight.
-Mostly based on BTAS Harley because I adore the original costume.
-Her horn was cracked by the Joker
2. Pudding Pie/The Joker (The Joker)
Batpony’s most notorious foe. Said to have been just a regular pony until he fell into a vat at an Ace Potions factory during a conflict with Batpony.
He doesn’t have a Cutie Mark, but it’s unclear whether this was always the case or instead a result of his accident. The effects of permanent Cutie Mark loss—the only known cases of which occurred via long-banned magic and/or traumatic injury—are largely unstudied, and it’s ramifications are unknown. Some ponies theorize this may be the reason for the Joker’s mental state and general disposition.
Sundown has a different opinion on the matter.
Other notes:
-Based mostly on BTAS joker and the ‘89 Nicholson joker.
-His name is just based on Harley’s “pudding” nickname for in in a lot of versions, but I think it would also be hilarious if he was a distant relative of Pinkie Pie.
-I could leave it ambiguous but. Yeah the potion vat didn’t actually do anything beyond slightly altering his physical appearance. He’s just like that and he never got a cutie mark in the first place.
3. Gadiel/Scarecrow (Jonathan Crane)
Raised among ponies, Gadiel was relentlessly bullied for being gangly and birdish, earning him the nickname “Scarecrow” in his youth. Though he later successfully became a professor and psychologist in Gotham, Gadiel was eventually fired when he was found to be testing his fear-inducing potions on his students and purposefully putting them through terrifying and dangerous situations. Deciding to take his experiments to the masses, Gadiel donned the mantle of Scarecrow and weaponized fear to become a career criminal.
As the Scarecrow, he’s known for his skill in manipulation, psychological torture, and crafting dangerous potions and gas. The effects of fear on magical creatures are unique and intense, much to Gadiel’s delight and interest.
Other Notes:
-I wanted to make his front half a crane but I couldn’t get the long neck to work right with the mask, so he’s more crow-like instead.
-according to the wiki 1/3 of Griffin names start with a G so naturally I was extremely tempted to name him Gonathon and you should all be very grateful I did not. The name Gadiel has origins in the bible as the name of an archangel which I thought was fitting given the insane religious trauma some versions of the scarecrow went through. I thought about trying to do something similar for this version but given that the mlp universe uses Princess Celestia as a replacement for God in expressions like “Celestia knows where” and “Oh my Celestia” I wasn’t really sure how to go about it. There’s probably some kind of sun-worshipping thing in equestria idk.
-I spent a long time on the mlp wiki but from what I could find the only “fear” magic in the show is just used by one guy and its just called “dark magic”. I thought for sure there would’ve been some random plant or magical creature they dealt with at some point that maybe did something similar I could use for his blurb but unfortunately there was not.
4. Mandible/Falseface (Basil Karlo/Matt Hagen)
Hungry and deeply resentful of the changeling queen for forcing her underlings to share what little stolen love they had with her, Mandible went rogue early on and split off from the hive to pursue his own ventures. Finding success under the name Claypose as a pony actor in Gotham, he was sustained primarily by the one-sided love of his fans for years, despite the false identity having no real prior personal relationships to leech from.
After a magical special effects accident on set revealed his true nature, he went into hiding and immediately started crafting a new persona, but soon found in his distress and rage over losing his identity as Claypose that he could no longer sustain any disguise long enough to keep up a long-term facade. Blaming the accident, he targeted the unicorn responsible by posing as his wife to leech his love, but ended up killing the pony in a panic when his disguise failed much faster than he’d anticipated it would. Unable to keep up a new identity or return to the hive, Mandible turned to a life of crime instead, doing dirty work for the bigger criminal names in Gotham and leeching love from his employer’s targets to survive.
Other notes:
-Clayface being a changeling was an obvious pick given his power set but I really wasn’t sure how to tackle the main issue of him being unable to keep a solid form for long. I went with his distress and frustration being the main thing keeping his disguise flimsy (so he gets put in kind of an ourobouros cycle where his disguise being bad makes him upset but him being upset makes it harder to fix his disguise), but the magic accident probably also contributed somehow.
-Why are all the changelings straight up just named after body parts in this show whats that about. The “Clay” in Claypose is obviously a reference to his title/schtick in the comics while the “pose” comes from both his job as an actor and the fact that he’s posing as a pony. Mandible is the name for the jaw part of an insect.
-there's actually an entirely different batman villain called falseface in the '66 series but I couldn't come up with anything better. Changeface just does not roll off the tongue.
3. Winglon/Killer Drake (Waylon Jones)
Originally intended to be used in an entrance exam, his egg was stolen from a Canterlot delivery cart on its way to Celestia’s school of magic and sold on the black market to a Pony Island circus. Raised to be part of the freak show, Winglon was pitted against circus performers and overconfident challengers in ring fights for money and entertainment. Enduring abuse and injury throughout his life from ponies that he was always fundamentally stronger than, it was only a matter of time until he snapped. Garnering the name Killer Drake for his actions, Winglon escaped into the Gotham sewer system.
Not knowing how to return to the dragonlands or whether he’d even fit into dragon society at all, he continues to lurk in the dark away from any life, deeply resenting ponies and all other manner of magical creatures that make friends with them.
Other notes:
-I like silly names ok. Winglon Jones. -I like the theory that the dragon egg used for Twilight’s entrance exam was actually fake/meant to be a no-win scenario, but I also don’t think it would be that hard for enterprising ponies to get their hands on dragon eggs. The practice probably stopped in the later seasons when they made friends with the dragonlands or whatever though.
-Given that dragons threaten to eat or kill ponies at multiple points in the show, the cannibalism is actually kind of understandable. And also not even cannibalism anymore. Still murder though.

Cryptic Hunter AU
Lore:
Cryptic are known in this au like good, bad, feral, and monsters. There are hunters to keep these cryptic in check and kill the ones that are feral, villains, and monsters. Macaque was born as a shadow witch/cryptic (which is rare) and Wukong a powerful cryptic who dreamed of becoming something great. They were childhood best friends and grew up as survivors for years in this cruel world until one day Wukong got cursed by a powerful god (IDK which God) for the trouble he was causing in the world and no hunter was able to catch him. Macaque knows about the curse and tries his best to find a cure for his best friend/crush on this curse. Though as the years goes by Wukong gets annoyed/tired of how long this is going to take because he is suffering from this curse and Macaque isn’t making the monkey lash at his best friend. One day Macaque returns home from a hard day of searching for answers to find Wukong not home and his belongings gone. Macaque goes into searching for his best friend till years later he finds Wukong at the Celestial Realm Hunter Crop making Macaque scared to enter because he knows how this crop treats witches. Lucky, he sneaks in to talk to Wukong at night and finds his best friend training and when he is alone he’ll come out hugging the monkey happy to find him, asking him questions on where he went and what happened. That they need to leave this place because it is dangerous, but Wukong would pull his hand making Macaque confused. That was the argument of Wukong having enough of not getting an answer for his curse and Macaque confusingly telling him that he was looking for a cure. This would lead to their heated argument of Wukong telling Macaque he’s tired of waiting, having to suffer from this curse, how he’s suffering from this curse and Macaque isn’t. How he must put up with it while Macaque can be carefree. How he must do this all alone. And of course, Macaque is doing his best yelling at Wukong, looking as best as he can. That he is doing everything in his power to cure him. Of course, this would make Wukong snap and yell at Macaque telling him “YOUR A CRYPTIC AND A WITCH BUT SO FAR YOU DONE NOTHING TO HELP ME!!!” And of course, Macaque would get hurt badly if he snaps telling Wukong “IT WASN’T MY FAULT YOU GOT CURSE!!! YOU (something to make the god mad to make them curse Wukong)” Wukong would get so pissed off at the remark/truth that he attacks his best friend making them fight which ends badly with Macaque getting blinded on his right eye and the crop coming out pointing swords/spears at Macaque after hearing the fight while Wukong is huffing angrily. Macaque in utter pain and heartbroken looking at his old friend who is staring at him in anger and of course he grabs a spear pointing it at Macaque and says, “they said they could help me, and they have magic that you don’t.” In other words, Macaque was hurt that Wukong no longer trusted him and chose to trust the corps over him, even after warning him about it. After this Wukong would try to arrest Macaque but the small simian looks down, betrayed and heartbroken to merge down into his shadow magic.
Sadly, Macaque was right because through the years of Wukong training there and being their “weapon/best of hunter” Wukong found out that they never had a cure that they only been able to find a spell to subdue that curse by allowing Wukong to control it but not always, if he allows rage or any negative emotions it’ll release the curse beast. This pisses him off badly that he leaves the corps but is still known as the best hunter in the world.
- So that’s my information I have on the au! There’s more info coming later so stay tune.

haii!! i love all the art of your ocs and your world is soso awesome!! is it possible to get some short info on some of your ocs? any lore or even just simple explanations of their personality and stuff? if you have any fave ocs hehe
Yes ofc!
The basic premise of the story of girlworld is this: The world is suddenly being struck by a mysterious disease caused by the moon's rays; zombifying the girls of the world. Along with this disease, strange creatures not of their world that resemble the current princess (Anastasia) are appearing, sapping girls of their powers. Bow and Ribbon, two best friends from a human village, are going on a journey across the lands to get to the princess in search of answers, and maybe a cure.
Ribbon and Bow:
Tumblr media
Ribbon is mysterious, quiet, and sarcastic. She keeps her distance from people, but Bow-- being her childhood friend-- seems to always be an exception to that rule. She can get a little irritated at her sometimes, but their bond is unbreakable. Her power is more Mind based, manipulating 'ribbons' (the concept of ribbons can get pretty abstract, but that requires using a lot of mental energy the more abstract the concept). You can see it exemplified in the long ribbon she always has tied to her index finger.
Bow is a bubbly girly-girl, very friendly and airheaded. Truly a shining example of a dog girl. She tends to get herself into trouble, but Ribbon is always there to bail her out. Bow's magical abilities are not as strong as Ribbon's, so she relies on befriending various creatures and beasts in order to summon them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of her beasts: A Chimera (Sonya) A Cerberus (Carebear) and a Manticore (currently unnamed... any suggestions would acutally be appreciated. Something cute for his old man face.) All her friends that she can summon are adorned with little pink bows!
Then there's Anastasia... the antagonist (?). A lonely girl locked away on a castle located in the center of the world, on a mountain. She's very melancholic and shy, whiling most of her days away yearning and writing emo poetry. Has a fondness for roses. She's attended to by her maids. Anastasia is also a Demihuman (I will maybe explain more on demihumans later)
Tumblr media
This is an older design-- I still haven't quite settled on a dress idea for her yet. I was thinking her dresses will be extravagant and change design frequently, based on phases of the moon.
Oh. She also has an evil glowing eye because that's cool.
Her maids are Tatiana and Maliana, two sisters. Tatiana is the younger and closer to (obsessed with) Anastasia. She uses bladed weapons to fight, using Matter based magic to use them like an extension of her own body, making herself into a weapon for her Lady.
Tumblr media
Her older sister, the other maid, is much more mysterious and distant. She concerns herself mostly with the maintaining of the castle. She uses a very regal wheelchair. Most of her physical energy is sapped due to maintaining multiple dolls that she has loaned her power to. She is capable of being ambulatory without it, but it's quite a strain on her body.
Tumblr media
These are the two dolls she has put her power into: Lunette and Solana. They're very advanced as far as dolls go. They cannot speak or emote, but they can commune telepathically with others if they so choose. They tend to creep people out.
Tumblr media
I'm super happy to receive any more questions about them! So if this sparks anything else you'd like to know, please do ask <3

Am I cooking chat.... [more info below]
So this is a [hopefully] better version of my Wild West AU, now named Desert Enchantment AU.
The biggest difference is the aesthetic, which is now has more fantasy elements (mostly a magic system) instead of being plain old western.
I'm gonna talk about the plot later cause I wanna talk about our three main characters and their powers first.
Tumblr media
Sheriff Fendri (Fear) is the newly recruited guardian of Scornreach. He is a Wielder (what magic users are called in this au) of Illusion magic, more specifically in duplication. Basically, he can create multiple clones of himself and specific objects whenever he wants to. This is very useful in battle, since he can easily overwhelm opponents with duplicates of himself or his weapons. Only Fendri is able to communicate and physically interact with his clones. While illusionists are often associated with trickery, Fendri likes to play fair in a fight which is ironically his biggest weakness.
Tumblr media
Valka (Joy) is a wanted outlaw. What? Just because she's a Wielder of Light doesn't mean she's a good person. As the name suggests, Valka can control and manipulate light, but she can't travel at the speed of it. Her abilities cater more to deflecting objects, temporarily blinding enemies, and shooting extremely hot hyper beams. She can also go invisible under direct sunlight. Valka also carries weapons casted with her own magic, like her shotgun. Under specific circumstances, light magic can also heal mild to moderate wounds, as well as reverse shadow corruption.
Tumblr media
Agni (Anger) is Valka's partner, both in crime and in love. He is a Wielder of Fire and Shadow magic. The fire part is pretty self-explanatory; Agni can control and shoot fire from his limbs. Basic stuff. Now his Shadow magic is a little unique. Like Valka, he too can go invisible, but in darkness instead of light. He can also summon creatures of Shadow (mainly dragons cause he likes dragons) to do his bidding, like spy on someone or kidnap a hostage. He can combine his fire with said creatures so they can wield flames too. Shadow magic in general takes a long time to fully master, so if you're not careful, it could corrupt you. Agni has been corrupted a couple of times. Valka had to save him.

Hi Proxi. I like your Shekiak legend head cannon, but I don't know a lot about it. Would you being willing to tell me about it? It's okay if you are too busy right now.
hsefshfjksahfd
OMG
First of all, thank you for the ask!!!
Second of all, you've opened a can of worms, allow me to info dump? :D
My Sheikah Legend head canon stems from an offhanded thought of him having red eyes! Specifically, in terms of my Triforce Hero head canon of the Triforce Heroes being Legend, Wind, and Twilight, and their color symbolizing which part of the triforce they represent. I can go into detailing that another time, but basically it results with Wind=Courage, Twilight=Wisdom, and Legend=Power, and their eye colors being the indicator.
The idea of Legend having red eyes ended up resulting in him being at least part sheikah, and now the head canon has become a full sheikah.
So Sheikah Legend is born and raised in Kakariko, Impa is his aunt, and one or both his parents died when he was little. Very Disney Princess I know. But Impa teaches him how to use Sheikah magic which is just Shadow Magic, and he's super good at it. His parents were scholars and as a result he's a huge nerd, absorbs information like a sponge, which makes for an even better magic user.
Before his first adventure, he was set to succeed Impa as the Sheikah protector of the Royal Family. So he's at the castle frequently, only he doesn't get to meet the royal family until later, he's supposed to be shadowing Impa and practicing his disappearing magic, but he gets distracted and helps out the staff every time they visit.
But then he hears a voice one night, he hears Zelda(Fable) and goes to the castle. He finds a knight he's helped out before dying in the sewer. He sneaks through the castle, breaks Fable out, and does the whole ALTTP journey. He learns how to fight with weapons and without magic from Fi, as a way to conceal his identity.
After his first adventure, he's basically banished from Kakariko as himself. He's the hero now, and Sheikah aren't supposed to be the hero (they're Hylian). So Impa takes him to some friends of hers, who take the role of grandparents to him. He dyes his hair blond and gets contacts to turn his eyes blue, blends in as a hylian while learning the culture of the people who called him a monster and a traitor. As a Sheikah, Legend is still wanted by the law, but as a "Hylian" he slips past their notice. He goes the rest of his adventures pretending to be something he isn't, exiled from his hometown but still close with Impa and still intending to maintain his duty as protector of the Royal Family.
Overall, he's far less of a 'normal kid turned hero' child soldier type and more of a 'trained to fight since birth' child soldier type, and he has extreme abandonment issues. He has no problem using his Shadow Magic, but admitting he's Sheikah? Nope. Because he got basically banished from Kakariko, and Hyrule hates him, he is completely terrified of revealing his heritage. He also has extremely high expectations of himself as a result of his extensive training and responsibility. He's always acting like something he isn't at his core, and it's been ongoing enough that before LU, while still under pressure of his era, he forgot isn't his real self. In Labrynna and Holodrum, he loses that mask a bit because he's only a kid and can't keep it up, and because he's escaped the pressure of Hyrule. But in LU, he eventually becomes comfortable enough with the Chain that his real self starts to come out and it terrifies him because he can't risk losing everything all because of his heritage again.
Kind of akin to Warriors' with the identity crisis, Wild with the upbringing, and Hyrule with the secret heritage.
Wind and Twilight already know tho, he let it slip during Triforce Heroes. They keep it secret, and it didn't help Twilight figure out that Legend is the same Link as the one from Hytopia now that he's blond and has blue eyes though. Wind somehow still figured it out, nobody knows how, he's just like that.
Overall his character/personality isn't different, just different backstories and different fears.

Tumblr media
✨️ TAKING IT SLOW
Wether you're a beginner magical hero who has no idea what they're getting into, or an advanced magical hero who has likely heard these terms in their sleep, magical hero terminology is important to know when you're in the magical hero community. Without understanding some basic terms, you'll have no idea what magical heroes on Wattpad, Discord, etc. are talking about when they post. Let's take things slow for this first post and go over some terminology!
Tumblr media
🌙 TERMINOLOGY
Magical Hero (MH) -> A magical hero is.. well.. what you're becoming!
"BUT GEORGIA!!! WHY DO YOU USE MAGICAL HERO IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE MAGICAL GIRL!!!" You can use magical girl as well, a lot of people in the community use that term as an umbrella term. There are some people, however, who want to become a magical girl but do not identify as a girl. For instance, I may be afab, but I identify as genderfluid. I use both magical girl and magical hero, but that may not be the case for others!! Some may use magical boy, magical enby, etc. That doesn't make them any less of a magical hero!
Concept -> A basic explanation of a concept is the type of a magical hero you're becoming. Magical heroes can be from any show, franchise, even your own original concepts! Some of the common ones I see are Precure, Madoka Magica, and Sailor Moon, though personally I've seen a lot more original concepts rise through the community. Concepts can be as vague or as detailed as you want- I'll go more into detail about concepts wayyy later.
Familiar/Mascot -> Familiars, or mascots, are who give you the power to become a magical hero! They usually also represent your team and give you advice on how to succeed as a magical hero. Unlike what you see in typical magical hero shows, familiars don't always have to be animals. They can be humans, objects, etc. Sometimes, you can have a concept with no familiar!
Script -> A script is a collection of what you want as a magical hero. Scripting is the process of creating your script. This is usually done in a word processor, like Google Docs or Notion. You can add in pictures of your outfits/weapons, info about yourself, etc! I'll be sharing some of my self made scripting templates later on!
Subliminals -> Subliminals are subconsious messages over music or noise that go into your subconsious mind, helping you manifest desired results. Subliminals aren't just exclusive for becoming a magical hero. There are different subliminal topics, such as getting longer hair, changing your eye color, etc! Friendly reminder that subliminals are just a tool to help you manifest, and are not required for you to transform. What is required is.. you! Yes, you and your subconsious mind!
I will warn you, especially those new to the subliminal community: we do not condone the usage of problematic subliminals, such as race-changing (and the RCTA community), any underground subliminal, or subliminals glorifying trauma, abuse, etc. If you condone the usage of these subliminals, then leave this blog. You are not welcome here or in our Discord server. /srs
Manifesting -> Manifesting is the act of bringing something into this reality that you want. It's like a dream come true- say, you've manifested good grades, healthy hair, etc. There are several methods to manifest, but the most common one I've seen is manifesting with subliminals.
Affirmations -> Affirmations are positive statements that help reinforce your subconsious mind what you want to manifest. Things like "I will transform" and "I am a magical hero" are some! These are put into subliminals, but you can also create your own to make sigils, spells, etc.
Fantasy Shift Phase (F Shift) -> In fantasy shifting phase, you're planning out your aspects of your magical hero life, desired life, etc. This is where you create ideas for your magical hero concept. You can also create your subliminal playlist in this phase.
Mental Shift Phase (M Shift) -> In mental phase, you're changing your mental (and sometimes physical) state to think like a magical hero. This can be doing good deeds for others, watching magical hero shows, physically training, etc! You're preparing for your future as a magical hero. Acting as if and roleplaying are two common ways magical heroes mentally shift!
Phantom Shifting (Ph Shift) -> Phantom shifting is where you feel the sensation of being a magical hero, however, you haven't fully transformed yet. This can come in the form of feeling sensations of your outfit, weapons, etc while in civilian form. Some magical heroes don't count phantom shifting as its own phase since it's more of a term to describe sensations you feel.
Astral Shift Phase (A Shift) -> Astral shifting is where you see your magical hero form in the astral plane, either by phantom shifting or astral projecting. There's little information on how to astral shift, but don't let that discourage you!
Physical Shift Phase (P Shift) -> Also known as "full results", physical shifting is where you physically transform into a magical hero! You've completed a journey and are beginning another one! Congratulations <3
Fictional Other (F/O) -> Fictional others are signifigant others being manifested into this reality from a fictional source. They can be human, nonhuman, etc! I see a lot of magical heroes do this, so I thought it'd be nice to add (psst, to all those selfshippers out there manifesting f/o's, you are so valid and your partner loves you more than anything in this world <3)
Tumblr media
That's all of the terminology I can think of! If you have any questions, think I forgor something, or want to add to this post, feel free to leave a note or an ask!! I hope you guys learned something from this post :)
See you all next time!

Info post about the au
(If characters seem OOC ((Out Of Character)) it's beacause I'm going off of my own interpretations/headcanons/fandom versions. So please be aware of that)
More info under the cut (Info is subject to change at any time. Info may be added to as well)
-Jobs in the group: Mix of things where ever he’s needed, often helping with scavenging, or just trying to cheer up everyone in the group and building upkeep
Weapons of choice: Bow, staff that can turn to duel blades.
-Head canon voice: ???
-Backstory similar to the og Dream (other than the fact Nm didn't eat the apples. Similar with the fact people liked him over Nm, and he didn't know about anything Nm was going through.) Unlike the og Dream he was guarding the tree for a lot longer than him (around 450+ years), guarding the tree long after the og apple incident.
-Nightmare is actually older than Dream by around a minute, sometimes Nightmare holds that over Dream just to annoy him.
-Dream and Nightmare are both trained in combat, due to being the tree guardians they’ve both had different forms of combat in them since they started existing. Dream’s fighting style focuses more on defense. When fighting side by side they fight in such a way to cover each other's blind spots.
-Dream doesn’t mind the pronouns He/Him, but also will go by They/Them. Either He/They works for him, They’re not too picky about it.
-Always refers to Nightmare as Night, the only time he uses his full name is if he’s trying to scold him, or trying to get his full attention.
-Kind of protective over Night, They knew some people pick on Night (didn’t know the extent of it), and also due to Night being shorter than them and also not really having much magic either. Even when they join the group, they still stay a little bit protective over Night, trying to be Night’s voice of reason when Night wants to do something dangerous.
-He knew Night didn’t exactly have the best mental state, though he didn’t know the extent of it. When the apocalypse happened, he noticed Night’s mental state got better, though he never talked to Night about it.
-Before the apocalypse, all the negative emotions were getting to them. Though, they tried to not let it show. No one but Night noticed this.
-Night is really good at reading Dream. But Dream can’t read Night as well, he’s better than normal people at knowing what's going on, but isn’t the same as how Night knows him. It’s just Night has been hiding his emotions and such for such a long time that It's hard to tell what he's hiding and what's real when it comes to him.
-After the apocalypse happened, Dream took note that Night would sometimes ramble to himself, mainly it would just be hearing quiet mumbles from Night. They found it weird at first, since before that they’d barely hear anything from Night. At first, they thought these mumbles were due to stress that Night was possibly having. But seeing how Night's mental state got better, Dream then assumed that these mumbles were just because Night feels more comfortable to talk. Since he feels Night is going to be talking more he uses this to try to get more convocation out of Nightmare than what he’d usually get from him.
-Night and Dream joined the group, kind of in the middle of everyone else joining. He found it easy to get along with Blue, Ink was also somewhat easy for him to get along with, though he found Ink a little weird. Dream understood that Night didn’t really want to stick around anywhere for too long nor did he want to be around people, he was worried that Night would leave them but was glad to see Night stick around.
-Dream is sort of surprised when they joined the group that Night was making an effort with people (not realizing that Night was doing all that to prove himself to the group). He’s also surprised that Night made an effort to befriend Horror (not knowing much about Horror thou), and a bit later making friends with Killer and Dust. Dream doesn’t mind Horror as much, as Horror is a bit weird but okay, whereas Dream didn’t exactly like Night being friends with Killer and Dust, due to the fact they’re both murderers. But after a bit, Dream realized they most likely won’t do Night any harm.
-Dream often tries to help out where ever they can, they like to help out Lust with (non-food-based) plants/gardening. Since they know, seeing plants/plant-life can create a sense of calm/wellbeing.
-Dream still feels like he can’t abandon his job as one of the tree guardians, he knows Night doesn’t feel the same, so never really talks about it. But he feels like it's his responsibility to fix the apocalypse by trying to fix the balance of negative and positive emotions. Even though he knows it may be way too much for him to do, he isn’t even sure where he’d start.
-He finds it easy to get along with most people, but he also understands he can be a bit draining with how he acts and the fact they’re in direct contact with positive energy. He doesn’t mind spending time with people, but he does also appreciate having time to himself. Often liking just relaxing away from everyone, since he doesn’t have to try to be chipper all the time.
-Is able to distinguish what type of positive emotion someone has, either they be happy or in love. But cannot distinguish what type of negative emotions someone has.
-Dream’s tail is constantly moving around. Either it be wagging or swaying, moving to point left or right whenever he looks that way. In contrast to his brothers tail.
-When they talk their hands are always moving, talking in hands with gestures. They can’t help it and does it subconsciously, if anyone points it out to them, they get super embarrassed and try not to move their hands around, normally holding their hands to their chest or lap.
-Is learning how to draw from Ink, Blue also joins in on these drawing sessions sometimes as well.
-Doesn’t really like modern technology, he can use it to some extent, but just doesn’t like it for some reason. He does enjoy watching movies on a laptop as long as others watch it with him though, but that's the extent of his love of technology.
-Is scared of owls, doesn’t like the fact they can turn their heads 180°, meaning they can always watch you. Freaks them out, also got shown a picture of owls without feathers by Night once and hasn’t been the same since when thinking about owls.
-When around others they tend to act somewhat innocent and try to be positive most of the time. Mainly because they doesn’t really want the others to question them too much. They tend to keep this act up around Night, but they know Night sees straight through it. But they can’t help it, due to the situation they feel they have to make sure they’re a beacon of positivity.

Kids-Guarding the tree as adults-After joining the group
How they feel about:
Nightmare: Adores Nightmare, Night is his brother after all. He’d do anything for Night, and doesn’t like it when Night puts himself in dangerous situations. He tries to do what he can for Night, but he knows Night keeps a lot of things to himself, which he wants Night to open up, but he also doesn’t want to force him to talk. Dream knows Night is trying for him, but he wants Night to try for himself to do things because he wants to do them not because it will make him (Dream) happy.
Cross: Likes Cross, appreciates the fact he’s trying to take care of Night when he can’t be around Night. Thinks Cross is just genuinely nice, often hangs out with him, normally with others as well either that also be with Night or Blue. Cross had accidentally told him that he had a crush on Night. So he (Dream) tries to help Cross where he can when it comes to Night. He wants both of them to be happy. Is basically a wingman for Cross.
Blue: Likes Blue, Blue was one of the reasons he wanted to stick around the group. He and Blue got along very well. Pretty much felt like meeting someone who is very close to your own personality, and they hit it off.
Ink:  Likes Ink, but thinks Ink is a little bit strange. He sometimes doesn’t feel emotions from Ink, and Ink explained their vials to him. Was quick to find out that Ink does random stuff and has no concept of danger or what is right and wrong really.
Dust:  Unsure what he thinks to Dust, since he knows Dust is a murderer, and doesn’t tend to feel much emotion from him, and he hangs out with Night. He can see that Dust most likely won’t hurt Night, but it still does have him worried since Night isn’t the biggest fighter.
Horror:  Unsure what to feel about Horror, something feels off about him, but he was Night’s first friend in the group. If Night likes him, and he doesn’t look like he’s going to hurt Night in any way then he can’t really complain.
Killer:  Unsure what he thinks to Killer, since he knows killer is a murderer. Doesn’t tend to feel emotions from him. Is also unsure on the fact he hangs with Night, Dust has shown clear signs of not wanting to hurt Night, whereas Killer hasn’t really shown anything to say he won’t hurt Night.
Error:  Likes Error, Error acts like he doesn’t like him though, but he knows that Error doesn’t actually mind him. The only time he’s seen Error somewhat actually annoyed is when he brings Ink along to come see him.
Lust: Likes them, sees them as a good friend. Appreciates how chilled out Lust is, and that Lust acts as the only normal friend for Night. He and Lust often hang out together, he likes to help Lust with gardening, or help them make/repair clothes.
Fell/Edge:  Is okay with Red, just doesn’t appreciate Red’s swearing. Red’s one of the more organized members of the group, so tried to help Red out where he can to make sure things don’t spiral out of control.
Geno:  He is okay with him, he can feel Geno normally doesn’t feel okay so tries to cheer him up when he can.  Doesn’t really like looking at the scar on Geno, but he knows Geno can’t really do anything about it, so just tries to ignore the scar.
Outer: Likes Outer, they get along well. Will sometimes join Outer on a night to look at the stars. Likes to listen to Outer talk about things. Appreciates how chilled out Outer is. Often him and Outer will work together on things to help other people out, since they both tend to have a lot of free time.
Sci:  Likes Sci, sometimes sits with him so Sci can ramble about things to him, likes it when Night joins them too, hearing the two go back and forth with info and thoughts. Treats the two like a podcast, even though he doesn’t understand half of it he’s starting to recognize what things they talk about.
Reaper/Death:  Unsure what to think really. Doesn’t like the fact Reaper is out to kill Geno, but at the same time Reaper is polite and nice to him. So has conflicted feelings about him. Tries to keep Geno away from him. They tend to be on good terms but its on thin ice.
Fresh: Night told him to stay away from him. Trusts his brother's judgment, doesn’t understand why Night wants him to stay away but after a few interactions realized he was getting a bad feeling from Fresh, so decided Night is probably right about staying away.
Gans/Echo: Doesn’t mind him, but doesn’t like it when he swears or smokes indoors, but doesn’t try to police him on these things, knowing it's not really any of his business.
Chief: Doesn’t mind him, thinks he can be a bit rude, but other than that thinks he’s okay. Tends to help him out if he thinks Chief needs any help, but knows Chief enjoys bossing someone around, so doesn’t ask half the time if he needs help.

I'd love to see designs based on the genderfluid and genderfae flags if you aren't already working on them
Tumblr media
Still working on Genderfluid (they’re Blacklight/Rave themed) but for now, here’s Genderfae for @magical-grrrl-mavis! I’ve been drawing Magical Kids too fast for my friend and Alt ID guy, so the next few Magical Kids will be first posted without IDs but will be edited to include them later!
Genderfae is a term and flag coined by a defunct tumblr. It’s a form of gender-fluid that never includes male or masculine genders!
This Magical Girl has a Floral Theme! She switches between They/Them, It/Its, and She/Her Pronouns!
Its name is Isabel, after Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight! Isabel has a bit more of a one-note power in that she can manipulate other people’s hair. It’s useful for blinding enemies, but Isabel likes using their power to pull the hair of people who are annoying her…
Its Magical Girl Weapon is a staff with large bells attached to the end. The sound of the bells is said to be maddening, and can easily drive anyone who hears them into a frenzy! Therefore, when among allies, Isabel takes special care in just bashing enemies’ heads in.
A useless fact about them is that they are very superstitious about the fae- most allies aren’t even sure if Isabel is their real name!
The Magical Kid Project is a project wherein I steadily turn Pride Flags into Magical Kids! Requests are open through my inbox! Commission info is under the #commissions tag, I have a deal on Magical Kid Portraits!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She had never seen him as cold. She never had. Ever since she had met him, the prince no the king of Jotunheim at a gathering of the worlds.
She, as a human representative of Mitgard, was also present, together with the Avengers, only as a legal representation, even if this seemed almost superfluous in the face of the gods. But then what? Right, the attack by someone unknown, something or someone who did not belong to the twelve worlds, someone from outside.
But the attack, even if the gods could defend them well, she still felt the fear as she faced these hideous figures. Herself without weapons, without strength and without a plan of battle.
She was a human, not a god or a super-trained assassin. She was just a damned substitute. She had seen Black Widow stand in front of her as the Avengers protected her agent and fought the creatures.
She could do nothing but clutch the pen in her hand tightly and hide behind one of the already overturned tables. Clutching her "weapon" tightly, she felt the floor vibrate as the powers of the gods and fighters seemed to break the room.
Her heartbeat was almost chewing the drones inside her as the battle went down. In her trembling hands the pen that had almost made her cry as she realized she should have stabbed the monsters with a pen. But in her fear she let out a scream as suddenly the wooden table was torn away. It wasn't one of the Avengers or well-meaning gods.
These creatures had found her in the turmoil of battle and made her the new target for death. Fear was in her eyes as she looked up and backed away, staggering and barely standing on her feet.
The pen in her hand all the more ridiculous as she held it in front of her. What was she supposed to do? But before she could even use the pen, something else reached her. Ice. Light and dark shimmering solid ice that had placed itself between her and the creature like a wall.
Her breath escaped in a cloud due to the rapid drop in temperature. ,,No monster should hurt a lady in my presence," she heard that voice, the silver tongue, the serpent, the god and king of Jotunheim. She saw the green eyes looking at her with amusement. This god of mischief was having fun with all this chaos as the scriptures and books always said.
His words at that time were still full of goodness, so disturbing that she didn't recognize the lie. But she should have seen it. She was only half aware of the brutal, almost joyful act of killing the creature.
She saw exactly how the warm red blood ran down the ice, steaming slightly, but it was a minor matter in the sight of the god. Because the only thing that mattered was his beautiful eyes, the green that attracted her and slowly turned red, the red of his true form.
The red of the ice giant's true form before she felt his cool hand and her vision blurred. The last thing she saw before he took her in his arms and disappeared was her friends, the end of the fight and the feeling that she would never see them again.
A feeling she was to prove right.
Because even now, weeks later, they had never seen their homeland, the earth, the avengers, their friends or family again. The only thing she saw in this cold great palace was the ice, the green of magic, when she tried to get out his spell simply created a new door, wall or end.
As well as finding him sitting on his golden throne. ,,The throne that belongs to me" she heard his voice in her head, a painful memory as his hand gripped hers so tightly that his ice threatened to pass to her and she was reminded every day by the freezing burn of what that meant.
He was a god and a king of this ice planet, but she was sure he couldn't feel love, he was simply obsessed with her. ,,My dear, you quickly understand that here on this ground... you are my property" he had said to her after a few days when she still thought the Avenegrs would come or he would take her home.
But no. It was more her fear and questioning that annoyed him when he told her this. A fact she knew to be true. For he presented her with a room of considerable size with bookshelves, a bed and although not made of ice it seemed freezing cold.
The walls and floor, though barely visible, were covered by a sheet of ice that he could see. When she moved, walked around or just breathed, he saw everything. Like a bird in a cage. Like his property as he placed more and more precious jewelry on her body.
The gold rings, the dark red gemstones, the green of her rings or the blue on her necklace. No matter what he gave, it wasn't for her, it was for him to make his property even more beautiful. ,,I've brought you something pet," she heard, as she did every day, if you could call it a day on this planet. She was almost grateful for every moment she didn't spend sleeping when he let her sleep in peace. She didn't have his attention.
But even this was only at first. ,,Thank you" came from her lips, a word she had said too often recently. She did almost nothing else but thank him, thank him. Being grateful to him was the only important thing for him.
Because that meant her love it was not a question for him she had no choice and the sooner his darling would accept this the easier he would become for her in the long run. His steps came closer, his magic passed through the ice and a chair formed beside her.
His form, though now human, she knew that when the light of the other worlds shone through the ice, his emotions came out or when he frightened her. Which he did with every second. Ever since he had "saved" her.
She barely felt the cold of the jewelry because nothing could be colder than his love. The love he gave her, she tried to lie to him when he didn't care. But she knew she would be lying if she didn't respond to him. The beginning of the beginning that still made her heart beat.
His touch was warm and not cold, his love in the form of tenderness and understanding was attractive and there was even a moment when she had loved him. But now she was his pretty jewel. Feeling his cold blue hand on hers, she looked up and gazed into those mesmerizing eyes.
He licked around her jewelry, his touch gentle, and yet she felt the warning chill he could freeze her into a sculpture, and yet he didn't. ,,Fear doesn't suit you dear," he said and something stirred in her eyes and she came back from her aversion, her thoughts.
She was with him again and saw from his grin that he knew. ,,I'm-I'm not afraid," she said to him, but she knew that he didn't even hear it, on the contrary. His hand wandered further up her warm body, searching for her warmth, something he didn't have.
She knew she was tense, knew he still needed her as leverage for the other worlds, or at least her earth. His kisses, which seemed nothing but cold, were full of love. ,,Of course you didn't," he smirked, the green of his eyes returning as she saw his true form recede.
He knew that although it fascinated her, it was like an escape reflex. You could burn yourself on any fire and you could also get freezer burn on a cold blue flame like his heart of ice. But despite everything, despite everything, she leaned into his arms, let him hold her, let him kiss her, let him tell her stories.
Because something inside her was afraid that something worse than this would happen if he stopped loving her one day. ,,You know all this coldness is my love for you," he reminded her as he felt the goosebumps shivering a normal stupid human reaction he hated it made him realize they weren't right.
But it didn't matter, it didn't matter that she knew she didn't love him. Once he had the Infiniy Stone, she would be his one way or the other, then everything would be his forever.
He gave her one last kiss knowing that it was all just a game, a trick at the cost of time. But he was the god of mischief, he could play this game for a long time to come.
ok hear me out
the plot basically goes as follows:
-the empire & yoisaki kingdom are at war over use of magic (empire disallows, yoisaki kingdom allows)
-toya is the crown prince of said empire, and his (trainee) personal guard is one saki tenma!! she might have gotten lost/j
-kaito, rui & ichika are all soldiers for the empire (ichika is an ex knight of white but we don't need to bring that up). kaito is a weapons expert, rui is good at alchemy & demolitions whilst also being the secret sorcerer, and ichika is just good with a sword
-onto the yoisaki kingdom!!
-prince kanade (he/him kanade :>) wants to put an end to the warfare yet doesn't quite know how. his first assistant (mafuyu, ex empire soldier) seems to know more than they let on.. his second assistant is a baker residing in the castel (honami!!)
-tsukasa, akito, mizuki & shiho are all part of the famous knights of white, known for the valiance in battle, impressive wits, and-- oh. yeah they get distracted mid-mission to the empire by a group of magic-using wanderers (led by ena. includes all of mmj & all vsingers but kaito & also rui sometimes??)
-they end up meeting an & kohane later on (acquaintances of toya's, contacts of akito's) to get info on a mysterious shapeshifting gorgon.. that being miss nene kusanagi and her (probably mermaid) princess, emu otori.
-long story short, the knights of white get sidetracked multiple times whilst attempting to gather info on the empire & imperial soldiers. they do eventually get there and turns out the crown prince is evil.
anw yeah take this silly summary. refs under the cut.
Grailfinders #343: Charlemagne
Tumblr media
today on Grailfinders we’ve got a king so nice we made him twice, it’s Charlemagne, back at it again! this time he’s in D&D, so he’s a Devotion Paladin to be upstanding and noble but in a distinctly different way than the knights of the round, as well as a Hexblade Warlock to gain more power the cooler you are. we also dabble in Fighter just a bit so you can fight just as well one-handed as you can two, and also for a more joyeusse ordre, but we’ll get into that later.
check out his build breakdown below the cut, or his character sheet over here!
next up: GOOD GRIEF HE’S NAKED
Ancestry & Background
Charlie is obviously a Human, but he also has a riding skill so let’s give him a Mark of Passage, why not. that gives him +2 Charisma, +1 Strength, Courier’s Speed for an extra five feet of movement, and Intuitive Motion for a bonus d4 on all dexterity and land vehicle checks. on the magical side of things, you can cast misty step once a day for free for some Magical Passage, and you gain Spells of the Mark, adding a few extra spells to your paladin spell list- check those out in the character sheet for more info.
you are, of course, a Noble, giving you proficiency in History and Animal Handling bc we’re taking persuasion from your class. boom, riding skill complete and we’re not even one level in.
Ability Scores
first up, make your Charisma as high as you can- they go on and on about Chuck’s charisma in his bio, and it’ll take care of just about everything in this build eventually. after that is your Dexterity. if you’re going to do cool stuff, you need to not fall flat on your face afterwards. third is Strength, partly for multiclassing, partly so you can be a good knight even without your paladins backing you up. that means your Constitution is a bit lower than I’d like, but that’s why you have a targetable invuln. your Intelligence is neutral- I didn’t really have a lot to go on there, but your Wisdom is definitely in the negatives. you based your power on something as open-ended as “doing cool stuff”, and hanging out with astolfo and roland long enough would warp anyone’s common sense.
Class Levels
1. Paladin 1: you don’t have to be a paladin to be the king of them, but it certainly helps, especially since it gives you proficiency in Persuasion and Religion, as well as Wisdom and Charisma saves! demons love using those, so make sure to stock up!
you also get a divine sense, so you’ll see any demons coming, as long as you spend a resource every two turns to check. its not good, but you’re not using those resources for anything else, so why not? throw out a ping erry once in a while.
you can also lay on hands to help a pal(adin) out, providing a bit of healing when you slap someone! remember: if they’re about to take a dirt nap, give ‘em a bap. that’s the furioso way!
2. paladin 2: at second level you get great weapon fighting, letting you re-roll 1s and 2s on damage dice from two-handed weapons. you’re gonna see a lotta them real soon whenever you use your divine smite to add a bunch of radiant damage to your sword. of course those don’t come free! you gotta use your spell slots, and those only recharge on long rests! you also prepare spells each day, so you don’t have to worry about picking the exact right ones- we recommend gishy spells like expeditious retreat and jump from your mark spells, or smite-y spells like searing smite or divine favor! outside of his “do cool stuff to charge up” thing, chuckie’s a pr basic dnd paladin.
3. paladin 3: at third level your devotion to devotion makes you a devotion paladin! you add protection from evil & good and sanctuary to your spell list- neither of them are quite invulnerabilities, but they’re nice shields you can plop onto your allies or yourself if u want. you can also channel divinity, doing one cool thing a short rest, either making a sacred weapon or turning the unholy. the first turns your sword into a cool glowy sword for a minute, adding your charisma to its damage, shining light, and making it magical. the latter forces fiends and undead to run away for a minute if they fail a wisdom save! paladins are already pretty good at dealing with devils and zombies, but sometimes you get stuck in a crowd, yknow?
4. paladin 4: we wont need strength forever, but we do need it now, so bump up that with your first ability score improvement! now you hit things harder! yep… yeah that’s the whole level. you can keep reading on now.
5. Paladin 5: at fifth level paladins get an Extra Attack each action, as well as second level spells! your freebies are Lesser Restoration and Zone of Truth, though I also like your mark spell Misty Step. move so fast it’s like you’re teleporting! just be sure you let them know it’s nothin’ personnel, kid.
6. Paladin 6: sixth level paladins get an Aura of Protection, so everyone within 10’ of you gets to add your charisma bonus to every save they make! you’re so cool you make jumping out of the way of a fireball look easy!
7. Paladin 7: seventh level devotion paladins have an Aura of Devotion, so now nobody near you can get charmed either. so whatever’s going on with Astolfo and roland isn’t magic, I guess.
8. Warlock 1: speaking of those two, we need to make a deal with them to power up your sword, making you a Hexblade Warlock. when you strike this bargain, you can put a Hexblade’s Curse on someone nearby that lasts a minute, giving you bonus action on all damage rolls, all attacks crit on 19s and 20s, and when they die you regain HP. all for the cost of one bonus action once per short rest! if you know somebody’s tough you just have to put more effort into being cool, and suddenly you’re a lot stronger. you’re also a Hex Warrior now, so you can turn a one-handed or versatile weapon into your chosen weapon, letting you attack using your charisma instead of your strength.
finally, you get another round of Spells, with weird warlock slots to boot. you can cast paladin spells with these or vice-versa, but they don’t mix in terms of figuring out what levels you can cast at. Eldritch Blast is our noble phantasm, but we also get Sword Burst to do a cool trick like spinning, Expeditious Retreat to free up some paladin prep slots, and Comprehend Languages because I couldn’t really think of any other first level spells we need, and that’s a jesus-y sort of thing to have available.
9. Warlock 2: second level warlocks can use Eldritch Invocations to customize their class, so now you can Distort Value to make your armor shiny and gold, but you can also turn your eldritch blasts into Agonizing Blasts, adding your charisma bonus to each hit. (technically you get two invocations but we’re swapping one next level so don’t get too attached.)
as for why we made a cantrip our NP, it’s simple- thanks to agonizing blast, your hexblade’s curse, and a third thing we’re getting later, your NP will wildly change in damage potential depending on how hard you’re trying to fight something. right now you get a total of two lasers each turn, with each blast’s damage either dealing 1d10+3 or 1d10+7 damage, which is a pretty big swing.
10. Warlock 3: third level warlocks can pick their pact boon, and the Pact of the Blade is perfect for an up-and-coming paladin, letting you summon an extraplanar weapon as an action and make it any kind you like. thanks to the invocation Improved Pact Weapon, it’ll do extra damage each hit, and you can cast your spells through it! most DMs don’t really care about stuff like that, but if they do, it’s a godsend.
if you want even more swords to blast people with, you can summon a Cloud of Daggers now! …it’s bad! but it is thematic.
11. Paladin 8: eighth level paladins get another ASI, and it’s time we got holy. as a Scion of the Outer Planes (specifically the good ones) you get resistance to radiant damage and the ability to cast Sacred Flame using your charisma. we had good offense against the unholy, but now you have defense against the holy! why would being faithful give you that? there’s a couple theological implications there I’m not 100% comfortable dealing with, so let’s move on.
12. Paladin 9: ninth level paladins get third level spells so you’re now a Beacon of Hope, giving everyone you want within 30’ of you advantage on wisdom and death saves, plus maximized healing. you can also Dispel Magic for free, or remove curses! those aren’t in character, but you get one for free and the other’s practically a synonym. Crusader’s Mantle can turn the whole party in to paladins if you want tho
13. Paladin 10: tenth level paladins have an Aura of Courage, so now nobody near you gets scared. how can they be if you’re doing a sick kickflip ten feet away?
14. Paladin 11: eleventh level paladins get an Improved Divine Smite, so now it’s like every attack you make is at least a little bit smitey.
15. Paladin 12: our last level of paladin gets you the Righteous Heritor feat, rounding up your Charisma and the ability to protect your allies. when somebody nearby takes damage, you can react to reduce that damage proficiency times a day. there technically isn’t a debuff if you use it to protect yourself, but that’s not the knightly thing to do, y’know?
16. Fighter 1: it’s time for that secret third thing! well, almost. right now you get the Dueling fighting style so your sword is equally powerful one- or two-handed, and a Second Wind so you can heal yourself as a bonus action. again you could use your lay on hands, but that can be used for someone else too. you have to be greedy with this one.
17. Fighter 2: ok now you’ve got that secret third thing, and that’s Action Surge! now you can action on the same turn you’ve already actioned once a short rest! now you can shoot out 4-8 beams that deal 1d10+4 to 1d10+10 damage each! ultra swingy now
18. Warlock 4: fourth level warlocks get their own ASI, so max out that Charisma for the strongest… everything. just about everything we have uses charisma, and now yours is as high as it can go without literal divine intervention. good job!
also you can cast True Strike now if you feel like wasting a turn, or Suggestion to use your position of power for good. or evil. your own purposes, in any case.
19. Warlock 5: fifth level warlocks get third level spells, like Spirit Shroud, letting you add even more damage to every attack you make on someone within 10’ of you. is using a ranged attack on someone within 10’ smart? god no! but it gives you a chance for dramatic banter, which is cool!
also you can use your Sign of Ill Omen to bestow a curse on someone once a day using a warlock spell slot. curses are really versatile, but the reason we’re picking this up is to give someone disadvantage to hit you or an ally, which is one of the pre-given options for the spell.
20. Warlock 6: the sixth level of hexblade isn’t something we get to often, but since we’re already summoning swords we might as well summon the hands wielding them too. with your Accursed Specter, you can summon the spirit of a hero of the past (bc you just killed them) and they’re forced to help you out for the rest of the day. they get an extra 6 temporary HP, as well as a +5 bonus on all their attack rolls! so if you kill a level 20 fighter and combine this with your eldritch blasts, you can summon all 12 paladins in a single round! kinda!
also you can cast Tongues now, so you can talk to anyone you want! it's what god would want. if he hadn't knocked over that tower.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
having literally everything based off your Charisma is great, it let us pick up a bunch of cool feats without sacrificing any kind of power, and unlike most paladins you don’t have to choose between your magic being strong or your swordplay.
speaking of, thanks to that mono-stat stuff you’re super versatile in a fight, being able to dish out damage in melee or at range, or provide support and protection to other party members. being able to do a little bit of everything is never a bad thing.
speaking of support, just being around you is a huge bonus for squishier party members, and thanks to your mobility options you’re never that far away.
Cons:
and it’s a good thing you can move around easily, because your auras are tiny. when you combine that with you moving around the place all the time, odds are most of your party won’t be getting any aura buffs for most of the fight.
having warlock slots might give you more chances to smite, but it completely blocks you from upcasting spells, leaving you stuck with third level spells slots for the entire build. a lot of your damage comes from other sources, but a good smite crit is super cathartic, you know?
your ultimate attack has some major damage variance, and it’s only at its best once per short rest. you can call your shots, but you’re only going to get one chance per fight at best, so make it count. otherwise you can go from 8d10+8d8+88 damage to 4d10+20, which is a major missed opportunity.
Hi, Sorry to bother you again but You seem to be like...a lorekeeper of TMNT 2012 Knowledge.
How the hell does Magic work in that show? I'm aware RatDad Kinda has it with the healing hands, and I also saw Shinigami has it? I don't know. I'm confused. I kinda fell off in the middle of S3 and only know stuff based off the Wiki.
First off, don't always trust the wiki. Lots of fans edit it and add false info just to push their own narrative or make ridiculous claims with no source to back it up. I also recommend checking out the rest of season 3 and onward! It does get kinda sloppy by season 4 but it's still a fun watch! Reading a wiki ain't gonna do the series justice lol
Now, to your question, imma be honest with you, regarding the magic in TMNT 2012, I really don’t know how it works XD
TMNT 2012 barely acknowledges the magic concept, granted it was a very out of no where thing like "hey magic also exist in our universe btw!" and when it does show up it’s gone before you can even process it was there so it gets forgotten quickly (at least to me when I rewatch the show).
The magic in TMNT 2012 I don’t think shows up until season 3 (someone correct me if I'm wrong) when Leo is confronted by the deer spirit in the episode Vision Quest (who btw never shows up again, put them on the list of one and done 2012 characters). After that, every other magic related thing is very subtle cause the series focuses way more on the sci-fi angle, which was the theme that was established in the first episode and was continued to be explore throughout the series. I just crack it down to it being a spiritual ninjutsu thing, but I've rarely put much thought into it.
For those who are curious, the magic and even paranormal things we see in TMNT 2012 are few but what we got are...
The Deer Spirit
Tumblr media
The Healing Hands Technique
Tumblr media
(which btw I wish they used this technique more cause it would've been VERY helpful in other situations later down the line...)
Sir Malachi
Tumblr media
Was it magic or did he just drug the Turtles to play discount DND with him??
Alopex's cursed Blades of Vengeance
Tumblr media
Ghosts and possession
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cults and Demons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Magic users such as Jei and Kintaro
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yokais such as Bake-danuki and Jorōgumo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(granted these mostly existed in Usagi's universe so they probably don't fully count in the Turtles world but who knows)
And the very existence of Shinigami
Tumblr media
Though Shini and her whole magic thing is barely explored or explained. They say she's a witch but we barely see her do witchy things. Most of her tricks and techniques seem more like blink and you'll miss it magician stuff than an actual literal witch. We know she can hypnotize people and make them see scary hallucinations, and it's also suggested that she can shapeshift into a cat but she only ever does it once and it's very subtly to the point that some fans probably didn't even know that the black cat in her intro scene in her first episode was her.
Tumblr media
Btw, according to Shinigami's concept art, her hypno stone weapon (as seen in gif) is said to be a family heirloom, meaning she comes from a supposed long line of witches and magic users. Sure wish THAT was explored more for her character instead of her just being there as Karai's hype woman and another chick for Mikey to drool over...
Dream Alliance: Jambastion Rebirth
So yesterday I was archiving the text from all my DeviantArt posts about the DreamAll AU, and it was really fun to read through all that lore and story again. ^^ It’s unfortunate that I was working on it during my transition from DA to here; I feel like a LOT of info got lost in the confusion. But at least now I have it all in my own files to reference (or retell) later…especially if I ever get around to reviving/expanding on the AU like I’ve always wanted. There are a lot of unused scripts and ideas waiting for that day…
And since I was feeling inspired today, here’s one of ‘em. ^^ Since this was such a dark idea that I don’t really consider “canon” to the AU, I never really wrote it down or anything…but it made for such a good story that I held onto it in my heart~. Warning: LOOOOOOONG post ahead. ^^
So at the end of DreamAll’s story, Magolor and Division Six risk their lives and defeat Void Termina, yadda yadda…but once the world is finally safe from that threat, its next big question is: how can we make sure we’re safe from the teenage mad scientist with the god-killing mecha and bioengineered alien attack dogs…?
Basically, Magolor inadvertently made himself so powerful that the rest of the Dream Alliance and the world is kinda scared of him now. ^^; And as I showed in the final comic, Susie Haltmann takes it upon herself to investigate him and find out what his deal is…and in doing so, learns that he’s actually a Jambastion mage, and Hyness’ estranged son. And thus, the scheming begins~.
Mind you, Susie doesn’t really have anything against Magolor. It’s just that the pressure of essentially becoming president of the world, coupled with the revelation that Magolor is not only an eccentric genius, but also a dimension-bending dark mage that she doesn’t know how to control…it leads her to fall back on old (villainous…) habits and start to treat him like an obstacle, to be overcome by any means necessary.
And her first play would be to use the threat of Hyness’ execution to get Magolor to spill his guts: to tell the truth about his magic powers, explain in detail everything he did to create the Void Destroyer system, and get it all on the record so that he can’t lie about it anymore. Which I think Mago would agree to immediately-- he doesn’t want to see his father die (despite his literal crimes against humanity), and tbh he’d probably be kinda glad to have the weight of that deception off his shoulders. Unfortunately, he’s not worldly enough to understand that divulging all this information is the beginning of the end…
Next play: regulations. Now that the crisis is over, the Dream Alliance’s superweapons will naturally have to be decommissioned…including Magolor’s ‘angels’. Seeing as they’re technically not living things (as per Mago’s explanation) Susie would demand that he toe the line and put them down, or at least demonstrate that he’s willing and able to cut them off from his power on command.
And naturally, Magolor would think of this as going a bridge too far. Marx, Galacta, and Morpho might not have their own life force, but they’re still sentient beings who love and trust him as their creator. And if it’s a choice between betraying that trust and leaving the Dream Alliance entirely, he’s inclined to choose the latter.
And ^that is the decision Susie would be waiting for: proof that, when pushed, Magolor cannot be trusted to act in the ‘public interest’. And considering what he’s capable of, it’s now in the public interest for the Dream Alliance to find a way to contain him.
Of course, she doesn’t go after him right away-- she simply waits for him to come to her, thinking he can convince her that his angels are more than just weapons. When that fails, he resigns on the spot…unfortunately, he never actually gets the chance to leave.
Based on everything Magolor’s explained about the way his magic works…she decides her best bet is to cut off his hands, severing his connection to his vambraces and sending him into shock from blood loss all at once. Both serve to severely weaken all of his subconscious magic use, and his angels by extension-- Galacta collapses, and Morpho straight-up disintegrates. Marx is the only one able to remain conscious without his master’s direct influence, and immediately realizes that something is seriously wrong. His first instinct is to rush to find Magolor and slaughter anyone in his way…unfortunately, he discovers that he doesn’t have his flight powers anymore. Without his usual magic strength, he can hardly even move his prosthetic arms, and is easily captured when Magolor’s lab is raided.
Fortunately, Meta Knight is one of the arresting officers, and decides to take pity on Marx and “lose track of him”, letting him leave in the dead of night for parts unknown. He disappears for a couple years, skulking in the shadows, stealing food when no one’s looking, being miserable and missing all his friends.
But during all that time, he’s also preparing…he spends most of his days retraining his body to adjust to the much smaller amount of magic that he has access to, and trying to find information on the dissolution of Division Six and Magolor’s whereabouts…which proves to be pretty difficult. So eventually, when he finally gets a decent amount of fighting strength back, he decides to start his revenge plot by finding an ally: Magolor’s father, who’s still imprisoned where he’s always been.
Hyness has never met Marx before, but he remembers Magolor’s mentions of him. And besides, they both share a deep concern for Magolor and the willingness to do anything to save him. So Marx explains the situation and breaks him out, setting his plan in motion.
He realizes that Susie will have seen him through the security cameras, and will predict that he’s coming for Magolor. So he decides that his true next target will be Galacta Knight, and asks Hyness to use his powers to find and awaken him first.
After being forced to use his magic just to keep himself alive during his long imprisonment (which by this point, ended up approaching the decade mark) and having his hands removed as well, Hyness is also a lot weaker than he used to be. But he has experience on his side, and quickly adjusts by using the magic stored in his cape (basically, what I was foreshadowing back when I drew this). Together he and Marx make a fairly powerful team, forcing their way into the facility where GK is being stored, and setting him free to unleash his wrath.
^This is a decision Magolor would probably take issue with, if he were present to give his opinion on it-- he’d be against triggering GK into a psychotic break just to create a diversion, knowing all that death and destruction would weigh heavily on his conscience afterwards. But Marx, being in a desperate and angry place, doesn’t care, and figures potentially scarring his little brother is a small price to pay to get their family back together.
And while Galacta Knight is out acting as a weapon of mass destruction, Marx and Hyness manage to find and release Morpho Knight as well. Morpho has very nearly reverted back to the unresponsive energy blob that he was when Magolor first found him…but he’s at least conscious enough to follow his brothers around and help protect them occasionally. Marx leaves him with GK and follows Hyness to Magolor’s location, deep within Dream Alliance HQ.
How things go from there is a little more nebulous…I think it would probably start out as a stealth mission, which would take an unfortunately bloody turn before Magolor is finally found and revived. I think Morpho and Galacta would eventually catch up with them there and make things even bloodier. ^^; I think Susie would get into a big ‘tech vs. magic’ fight with Division Six that’s honestly been a long time coming. And I think Magolor, despite having just been awakened from a years-long medically-induced coma, would be forced to take point as the most powerful mage left in the group, and do something drastic just to put an end to the conflict and get everyone out of there.
The aftermath would be bittersweet, and a bit ironic-- essentially, Magolor would be forced to go back to living in a secret society cut off from the rest of the world. He’d be reunited with everyone he cares about, including the father he once thought he might never see again, but he’d still have to live with the fact that the world he risked his life to save ultimately rejected him…and after all the atrocities his family committed just to get him back, the world is probably now convinced that its fears were justified. The damage is done, and irreversible…after all the effort he put in to become a hero, his short-lived dream is already dead and gone. I honestly don’t know what he would want to do with his life after that…
…Anyway, if you made it all the way here, thanks for reading~
About my Honkai Star Rail DR!
aka auriana rambling about her to-do list the whole post straight-
In this reality, I'm part of the Stellaron Hunters working under/for Elio! Different from the others though the reason I do it is due to save my planet I'm originally from.
For starters, my planet is inspired by the infamous Wonderland we all know (and hopefully love-) that has basically being "under quarantine" due to a stellaron putting everyone in danger. Instead of joining the IPC (where other hsr shifters will know isn't the most wholesome organization...) i decided to side with Elio as his future telling abilities were speaking about a way to safe my home.
Under the Stellaron Hunters I'm the one who specialized on building connections with other people having a large network of possible help needed in the future as well as being an expert in the more magic-ish side of things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My powers mainly focus on breaking the law of physics and logic & chaos magic (not in the op way though, its more comparable to the wonderland squad from ever after high actually!). Later on i end up befriending the crew of the Astral Express and may or may not switch sides - we'll see.
Some other fun facts:
- I follow the path of Harmony!
- As a weapon I have a magical scepter cause why not 🤷🏾‍♀️
- I own a flying cat as a pet 🤭
- in this reality both Stelle and Caelus exist!
That would be all for now i think...some more info coming up soon!
In Arcade. I'm planning on having the cruel copy crew as some sort of fantasy DCA experience.
Basically everyone is a new AI. But they were built out of the pieces of the old animatronics. A little bit before the revolution. Pastel is the only one who survived. Basically hiding away while all the animatronics were being taken in the back to be dismantled and reused.
So pastel still technically has all the trauma of everyone dying. We just don't add the butler fear. Which by the way. Butler and werewolf are still outcasts. But they aren't labeled as villains. They're more just strangers. They're personalities don't exactly mix with the others. Butler is still grumpy and werewolf is still a bit crazy. So everyone just kind of labeled them as weird ones.
But yeah. Everyone's new designs are just based around a fantasy scape. So they make sense. Butler and werewolf are still sort of painted as the villains. Mostly because Butler is a vampire inspired design, And werewolf is a werewolf. Gladiator, and wizard are the most popular. Mostly seen as the hero characters. Witch and pastel are sort of middle ground.
Also about Cap. He was the new AI that was supposed to replace pastel. But of course they couldn't find pastel. So he was kind of put aside. Pastel found him later and felt bad. And so he's still a head buddy. But no one really knows of him. Hell some people just believe that pastel was replaced. Given that Cap does the talking. Also because Cap is a new AI. He doesn't have a lot of info about what happened before. So I would definitely count him as a very different character in Arcade. I'm still figuring out what.
But yeah. Everything basically remains the same personality wise. Except for Cap. Pastel doesn't have a specific hate towards Butler. Butler and werewolf are only labeled as character villains, But are seen as outsiders due to their attitudes. And I guess otherwise. They're technically isn't a dimensional lock on any of these characters. Pastel doesn't have any supernatural abilities. The only magic I'm planning on giving pastel is weapon summoning. So these guys are totally adoptable. Cool.
Anyways that's arcade cruel copy.
