All this time I was planning to make the baby Clifford! But we had a girl! I didn’t even know the baby could be a girl!

Since I kept going “a girl!?” To the screen which made me think of TLK2 at the start when Timon and Pumbaa find out Simba and Nala’s cub is a girl… named the baby Kiara.

The first thought that ran through Claire’s mind was that she wanted time to stand still.

Her familiar blankets were toasty, her pillow plush and fluffy, and the loving way her partner held her against his chest caused her to melt. She could feel his heart thudding softly against her temple, reminding her that time was indeed passing. Listening to the crackling fire in the hearth, she opened her bleary eyes.

He must have felt her stirring, because he squeezed her gently, as if begging her not to leave.

A dazed smile spread across Claire’s lips. As if she wanted to leave such a comfortable setting.

“You’re feeling warmer,” Cliff murmured into her hair, hesitating before shyly placing a kiss atop of her head.

It was rare for him to be this bold with his affections, but she wasn’t about to complain about the heat he was radiating. To say that his soothing presence at this moment was helpful was an understatement.

Everything’s so foggy. What was I...?

It took a moment for the cogs and wheels in her head to start turning once more. A second thought emerged.

“I don’t want to get you sick,” she whispered.

He pulled her into an embrace. “I’ll be fine. Just rest.”
