couldn’t sleep last night so I went through the wiki to see how much sleep everyone else was getting

some notes!

delaila gets the least amount of sleep out of everyone. she only gets 1½ hrs (2:30-4am) while her husband gets 6 hrs (10pm-4am)

most of the characters who get 4 hrs sleep from 12-4am, except tamala (sleeps from 4-8am) and reth (sleeps in the storeroom from 8pm-12am before his second shift)

tish and tau are the only characters who get a full 8 hours! tau goes to bed at 7pm while hassian stays out until 10 (he needs to get his daily “be emo by the lake” time in)*

subira probably sleeps from 12-4 like the majority of the villagers (i vaguely recall seeing the 💤 by her icon at night) but since she doesn’t leave her room the wiki didn’t note down when she ACTUALLY goes to sleep so 🤷‍♂️ sorry girlie ur bald now. for nuance.

kenli sleeps on the couch but he sleeps 6½ hours and eshe only gets 2½ hours but she presumably sleeps in a bed. equivalent exchange, or something.

*this is unfortunately glitched btw. if you’re in kilima in the evening you can see tau and hassian separate at the fork in the road heading to bahari bay but if you’re in bahari then you’ll probably see hassian by the lake with tau clipping through his body

NineRiver is everything to me

well, I say that for all DoctorRiver pairings lol but [seagull squawks] the NineRiver audios are everything to me now and I have thoughts thunking around about it.

Swipe Right felt stilted to me at first but then I realized maybe that's how it was meant to be. It was the first time River met that regeneration of the Doctor's who's fresh out of the Time War. She had to learn how to vibe with him. The continuous "I'll NEVER marry you. I don't do that." made my heart hurt honestly and I just wanted to hug River 😭 Nine may be brutally honest but he's also so kind and we see that soft!Nine in Archipelago.

Then with Face of the Apocalypse, ohh it hit me right in the gut. It made me laugh too honestly 😆 Doctor Sweetie and Miss Curly Hair <3 then I ended up bawling lmao

With the last audio, Archipelago, ohhh. I haven't been the same person I was before I listened to that audio. I have been irrevocably changed. That audio is now on the same level as Someone I Once Knew (4River). I also love how this smashes any belief that River forces the Doctor to have sex with her or do anything that the Doctor is uncomfortable with. Nine is asexual and River adjusted herself accordingly. They grew old TOGETHER and River was happy enough just holding hands with him and exchanging stories, truths with each other that no other Doctor or River will ever know.

i just think people need to remember being a nun was not isabelle's life calling and something she kind of took up mostly for survival. yes, she ends up finding comfort in it but i think that reducing her to A Nun (and in most instances not even using her name, just calling her "the nun") not only serves to degender her (because in a way it feels like people don't see her as A Woman, but A Nun), but also kind of takes away from her humanity. sanding her character down to this one trait seems the easiest way to make it seem like she's paper thin/badly written/badly acted/whatever excuse people want to use to hate her/be misogynistic about her presence/pretend to be surprised that daryl can care about her (in any capacity. not just in a romantic sense) because "she's a nun" as if nuns aren't People with thoughts and feelings. and isabelle has shown a LOT of personality. she is a survivor, just like daryl. she's so much more than "a nun" so the insistence to reference her solely by her faith just feels so forced

I don’t regret it!" this is one of reth's dialogues and like,, do you see what i mean when i say that the dialogue is So conflicting at times? like it's Just vague enough that it can very easily imply that tish Just got sick as an adult and that reth took action quickly afterwards. like it's worded in such a way that it doesn't Quite fit the vibes of tish being sick as a child. i'm not saying that reth wouldn't feel that strongly as a kid, but i am saying that it's worded in a way that implies a quicker passing of time between tish getting sick and reth getting into debt to save her life.

i feel like the devs really need to sort out the timeline and fix the dialogue to match up with it. either their parents died when they were like 5-10 or when they were teenagers/young adults. either tish got sick as a child or right before they moved to kilima. like,, you can't have dialogue that implies Both :')
